Kate Hudson’s Birthday Parade
It’s impossible to have a birthday party right now if you’re following social distancing guidelines. As a result, many families have started celebrating by slowing driving past each other’s homes like a parade. It turns out that even famous people like Kate Hudson, who recently turned 41, are marking their special occasions that way.
After enjoying breakfast in bed along with long-time boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, and her three children, Ryder, 16, Bingham, 8, and Rani, 1, her parade of family and friends began. “[It] made my heart burst and yes I cried,” Hudson wrote on Instagram. Other well-wishers sent videos and posts, some of which she shared in her own Story.
It probably wasn’t the birthday Hudson had imagined, but it must have felt good to see that parade (and eat her personalized cake!). At the end of the day, the actress expressed her gratitude writing, “I felt so much love today and I just want you guys all to know that all of your birthday wishes were seen and felt and it made my day. So thank you.”
Meghan Markle Takes on Tabloids and Food Shortages
We’d heard rumors that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had relocated to Los Angeles, but now we have proof that the couple, and their 11-month-old son, Archie, are in California. The couple has been spotted wearing bandanas as face masks as they take their dogs out for walks in the area.
Now that they’ve left the U.K. behind, Meghan has opened up about her first post-royal gig doing voiceover work for the Disneynature documentary, Elephant—but she and Harry have also been busy working on a noble cause. The pair have been sighted around L.A. wearing gloves and face coverings as they quietly deliver food to those in need.
Additionally, their big move seems to have motivated them to take on the four major U.K. tabloids that have tormented them. In a very strongly-worded letter issued to the editors over the weekend, they declare that “there will be no corroboration and zero engagement” with these publications as they disagree with the “style of reporting” at The Sun, The Daily Mail, The Mirror, and The Express. They explained that this is specific to these specific outlets and is not a “blanket policy for all media.”
In case you’re wondering about the timing, the letter comes as the first hearing in Meghan’s legal case against Associated Newspapers heads to court. At the heart of the complaint is the issue that Mail on Sunday published extracts of a personal letter sent to her father in August 2018.
As part of the evidence, private text messages between Meghan, Harry, and her dad have been made public and they definitely don’t paint him as the victim he’s claimed to be. Instead, Harry and Meghan appear to have reached out to him multiple times, sometimes pleading with him to respond and offering to help. Thomas Markle has made it seem as though his daughter had abandoned him. The plot thickens … but Meghan and Harry seem to be moving on with their life. More power to them!
