It’s tempting to talk about the Serena Williams drama right now but, since every other outlet is covering that story, let’s shift our focus to some of the other well-known moms who are out there hustling and taking care of their kids.

It’s tough to juggle parenting with other obligations so it’s understandable that there will be victories and losses in our lives every day. Ashlee Simpson-Ross, Cardi B and Lily Aldridge are three very different examples of women adjusting to the unique demands that come along with raising young (or unborn) children in the spotlight.

Ashlee Simpson-Ross Understands “Mom Guilt

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 14 years since the world saw Ashlee Simpson’s cringe-inducing ho-down during her appearance on Saturday Night Live. At the time, she was wildly popular and the audience at home was stunned when a voice track revealed that she’d been lip-synching, as the singer awkwardly improvised with the now-infamous dance moves.

Today, she’s married to Evan Ross (which means her mother-in-law is Diana Ross) and is a mother of two. On her new E! reality show, Ashlee + Evan, the younger sister of Jessica Simpson revealed that it’s been easy to take a break from work because she’s been battling “mom guilt.”

In the premiere episode, Evan is offered a role that would take him on the road (again) and he’s afraid to tell his wife because the couple made an agreement to work together and stay close to home. As if that’s not enough, he brings up having another baby which would, of course, set back Ashlee’s career even more.

It was just a moment that so many moms can relate to. It can be so hard to find that balance so, hopefully, Ashlee and Evan can find a way to find a fair, mutually beneficial solution to their scheduling issues. She deserves to fill her own cup too!

Cardi B Fights Nicki Minaj

This should be an exciting time in Cardi B’s life. She and her husband, Offset, welcomed a baby girl named Kulture this summer but, unfortunately, things have been less than calm for the new mom lately. Over the weekend, there were widespread reports that she emerged from the Harper’s Bazaar Fashion Show looking disheveled following a fight with fellow rapper, Nicki Minaj.

The women have reportedly feuded in the past but, recently, it seemed like things were improving. That is, of course, until Saturday night when Cardi B allegedly lunged at Minaj and threw a shoe at her.

Minaj referred to the debacle as “mortifying” and went on to say about Cardi B: “You just had the biggest blessing of your life with a child. And in two weeks you have attacked three women—one at Fashion Week. Let’s get up a 1-800 number for postpartum depression.”

Hopefully, this will be the end of this feud since no one needs to be fighting out in public, especially someone with a newborn baby at home. All the best, ladies!

Pregnant Lily Aldridge Hits the Catwalk

While many women remain active during pregnancy, most of us can remember those exhausting moments when we wanted to do little more than crawl into bed with a good book (and nap). With swollen feet, hands, and belly, the idea of squeezing on some high heels probably isn’t high on many expectant mother’s lists — unless you’re Lily Aldridge.

The 32-year-old supermodel, who happens to be five months pregnant, hit the Brandon Maxwell runway during New York Fashion Week and she looked absolutely stunning. With her baby bump filling out a backless red dress, Aldridge said she felt empowered.

The Victoria’s Secret Angel and her husband, Kings of Leon’s, Caleb Followill, 36, are already parents to 6-year-old daughter, Dixie Pearl.
