Last month, we heard a lot about the famous moms who were sending their kids off to college for the first time. Now, there’s a lot going on with new moms in Hollywood. It’s the circle of life! Some nests are empty while others are just filling up. Here’s what’s been going on.
Blake Lively Gives Birth
It’s got to be pretty busy in Blake Lively and Ryan Reynold’s house. The couple just welcomed their third child, who joins big sisters, James, 4, and Inez, 3. While it’s been reported that the 31-year-old actress gave birth, there have been no other details about the baby.
There are reports, though, that the little one is already two months old! Did Lively and Reynolds find a way to keep their growing brood under wraps? Considering how notoriously private they are, it wouldn’t surprise us. Either way, this is wonderful news and we send our best wishes!
Kylie Jenner Chooses Happiness
As with most things related to the Kardashian family, the breakup between Kylie Jenner, 22, and Travis Scott, 28, has been dramatic. Still, the new mother has been trying to find a way to stay positive in spite of everything that’s been going on.
After an evening of fun at Halloween Horror Nights, Jenner took to Instagram to post: “Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy. No person will make you happy unless you decide to be happy. Your happiness will not come to you. It can only come from you.”
This comes after rumors suggested that the couple split due to Scott being unfaithful. Jenner tried to diffuse the situation after news broke by tweeting, “Travis and I are on great terms” but that hasn’t stopped the chatter. For the sake of their one-year-old daughter, Stormi, let’s hope people give this little family some space to sort things out.
Alanis Morissette Talks Postpartum Depression
In August, Alanis Morissette welcomed her third child, Winter Mercy, with husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway. The 45-year-old has now opened up about experiencing postpartum depression, following his birth.
In a blog post, she mentions being “here again,” indicating that she’s fought this battle before. The saving grace? She knows things can get better “on another side.” Painfully honest, she writes: “I have my eye on that prize again . . . even as I drag my ass through the molasses.”
Explaining that she’s got “protocols and solutions and RXs” to help get through this tough time, she also lists a host of things she’s dealing with: “Hormonal. Sleep deprivation. Fogginess. Physical pain. Isolation. Anxiety. Cortisol. Recovery from childbirth (as beautiful and intense as mine was at home, dream birth.), integrating new angel baby with older angel babies. Marriage. All kinds of PTSD triggers. Overstimulation. This body. Attempting to crawl back to some semi-recognizable configuration…”
Many moms can undoubtedly relate to what the Canadian singer and new mama is going through, and it’s so amazing that she’s willing to share and bring awareness to the complexities of postpartum depression. To read her full post, check out her website.
