5 Smartphones Making Buzz for 2014

It seems like there’s a new or upgraded smartphone coming out every few months and this year is no exception. While determining the superiority of a device is largely subjective, there are some front runners that are already generating buzz.
Here’s a look at some of the most anticipated smartphones for 2014.
Samsung Galaxy S5
When the Samsung Galaxy SIII came out, it quickly became the hottest phone on the market, even overtaking the perennially popular iPhone. This year, the Korean company will be releasing the Galaxy S5 which promises to improve upon the Galaxy S4 and Note 3. So far, the rumor mill is suggesting that the 5-inch device will feature super sharp resolution, a metal body and plenty of power.
iPhone 5S
It’s not hard to come up with reasons why the iPhone is so well loved which makes the claim that this is going to be the best iPhone ever so intriguing. The design and OS are so user-friendly, it leads the market in app selection and includes a 64-bit A7 chip, improved camera, Retina display and a fingerprint sensor. If that isn’t enough, it also comes in a gold design option.
Samsung Galaxy Round
Samsung is rocking – literally! In addition to the S5, they will be releasing the Galaxy Round, a curved device with a 5.7-inch 1080p display, faux leather back, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and 3GB of RAM. Of course, it will also be fitted with all of the other Samsung features that users have grown to love.
LG G Flex
Along the same lines as the Galaxy Round, the LG G Flex also features a curved display but includes a 6-inch display and a Snapdragon 800 chipset. That a lot of power! The cool thing about how LG has chosen to utilize curves is that they looked at making the phone hug the face and be easier for the thumb to navigate. It will be competing with the Samsung so it will be interesting to see how this model fares.
Sony Xperia Z1S
The rumors about the Xperia Z1S have been circulating for a while but it finally looks like it will be released this year. The Sony device will include a 20.1-megapixel G Lens camera, a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and Qi wireless charging.
If you are upgrading your phone this year, you will definitely have no shortage of options. Do your research, decide which features are most important to you and make your selection based on your needs rather than the hype.
