This underlayment is good quality at a great price. I am using it under some vinyl plank flooring and it works great and is super easy to install. Lowe’s costed. 30 cents a square foot for almost as good product.
You can’t go wrong with this product. The seller bulk shipped 5 rolls in a big box with no problems. I highly recommend this product.
The choice of flooring underlayment is an often overlooked, but still crucial decision when updating, renovating, or installing new lamiante or floating flooring. Protect your click-together and floating floors from moisture while dampening sound with the MP Global Quiet Walk Acoustical Floating/Laminate Flooring Underlayment.
This acoustic floating flooring underlayment is designed for use with laminate flooring, floating engineered wood, floating bamboo, and wood/plastic composite (WPC 5mm or thicker) floors. This laminate flooring underlayment is even approved to use with in-floor heating systems, letting heat permeate the surface while protecting flooring from thermal shock.
Made of recycled fabric fibers, this interlocking floor mat absorbs and dampen sounds. The floating floor underlyament prevents sound from traveling to other rooms, making click-together floating floors sound solid underfoot.
This convenient sound-muffling floor underlayment also wicks moisture away from your flooring and subfloor. The moisture-wicking underlayment uses DriWick tehnology to wick away harmful moisture from the subfloor while the attached vapor barrier protects the overlying flooring from moisture.
The barrier is not a suitable underlayment for ceramic tile, glued-down wood, sheet-vinyl, or VCT flooring material. This MP Global Quiet Walk Acoustical Floating/Laminate Flooring Underlayment comes as a 6- by 60-foot roll for 360 square feet.
Great product, easy to install, the floor is very quiet. Great price too. The material is high quality felt like fibre that is very firm and supports the laminate well. Our subfloor was not very smooth and the Quietwalk covered the imperfections perfectly.
The Roberts 70-190 Super Felt Premium Underlayment is a 3mm thick insulating underlayment made to reduce noise and help cushion flooring. By absorbing noise instead of deflecting it, Super Felt provides a deep, rich sound.
This felt underlayment is made from recycled fibres and compressed using a high heat manufacturing process. The film overlay protects engineered and laminate flooring from any moisture from the subfloor and includes an adhesive strip and 1-3/4 overlap for linking multiple rolls.
Super felt adds a great sound quality to the laminate flooring. It also provides better insulation than other types of underlayment. It is easy to lay and splice thanks to the “pretaped” sides. Only a minimal amount of underlayment tape may be needed.
It can be somewhat difficult to cut. If you are using a razor knife or carpet knife, keep a new blade in the knife and you won’t have a problem. You may only be able to make a few cuts before the blade will dull and not cut clean.
I used it on two different laminates of different thickness in the same house. You really don’t hear or feel a difference.
My 19 year old son and I (an obese 60 year old lady) recently put down a beautiful laminate floor after removing the wall to wall carpet. This was the first time for me and the second time for him. He had never put underlay lay on before.
He had no trouble whatsoever laying it down and cutting it to size. Each roll did a 10 by 10 foot room. The final results were impressive.
This came highly recommended by a coworker. If I had a second choice I think I would opt for something different. It makes my laminate sound hollow underneath and not solid as he said it would. It’s also quite squishy.
I know my subfloor isn’t perfectly flat but I can’t help wondering if some of the flex I see in the laminate is due to the squishiness of this underlayment.
The Roberts 70-193 Super Felt Premium Underlayment is a 4mm thick insulating underlayment made to reduce noise and help cushion flooring. By absorbing noise instead of deflecting it, Super Felt provides a deep, rich sound.
This felt underlayment is made from recycled fibers and compressed using a high heat manufacturing process. The film overlay protects engineered and laminate flooring from any moisture from the subfloor and includes an adhesive strip and 1-3/4-Inch overlap for linking multiple rolls.

We had installed this under an SPC flooring with pad attached. Quietwalk says it will work under this type of flooring. We had noticed our flooring breaking at the locks and unhinging over a few months as well as a spongey feeling while walking on it.
I had reached out to quiet walk. They had us pay for an inspector ,$500 out of pocket, to check the problem. The inspector said it was installation as well as the underlay contributing to the problem.
They denied paying for anything. 2 Months later we had made the difficult choice to rip the underlay out and again be without a floor for about a week. IT FIXED THE PROBLEM!! Should have never used this product and I am warning anyone else to avoid this at all costs with Pad attached SPC!!.
Quality product that significantly decreased the hollow sound of walking across the floor while providing a pleasant little cushion to the vinyl tile surface under-foot. Provides another degree of separation from the concrete pad.
Fast and simple install. Made noticeable improvements and pleased with the result. Did the complete basement floor with it and recommend. Would use it again without hesitation.
Excellent underlayment product, great price. Has to be ordered from Home Depot online, not carried in the store. Delivery to store for pickup was quick – only 4 days & well worth the wait. I highly recommend this product.
DRICORE. Subfloor is the first and most important step towards creating a new living space as warm and comfortable as any other space in your home. DRICORE. is the one-step engineered subfloor solution that is specifically designed for basements.
The raised moisture barrier covers cold, damp concrete to protect, insulate and cushion your finished floors. Concrete continually releases moisture. DRICORE. Subfloor panels have been designed with patented air gap technology to keep basement floors dry, comfortable and cozy throughout the entire year.
DRICORE. Subfloor panels promote good indoor air quality by allowing concrete to breathe, which in turn reduces the potential for mould and mildew. DRICORE. Subfloor panels are fast and easy to install; a typical 500 square foot basement installs in an afternoon.
I have used Dricore on 2 previous basement projects and been very happen with the results. The manufacturing of the product has changed for the worse. There is now less adhesive to hold the wood shavings together.
You have to be very careful about getting slivers in your fingers and hands. I used a circular saw to cut them and had lots of separation of the wood shavings. I tried cutting one with the black side up but ended up tearing the underside in a few spots.
I had no problem with the installation and fitting the pieces together.
The choice of flooring underlayment is an often overlooked, but still crucial decision when updating, renovating or installing new laminate or floating flooring. Protect your click-together and floating floors from moisture while dampening sound with the MP Global Quiet Walk Acoustical Floating/Laminate Flooring Underlayment.

This laminate flooring underlayment is even approved to use with in-floor heating systems, as it allows heat to permeate evenly while helping to protect the floor covering material from thermal shock.
Made of recycled fabric fibers, this interlocking floor mat underlayment helps to absorb and dampen sounds. The floating floor underlayment prevents sound from traveling to other rooms, making click-together floating floors sound solid underfoot.
This convenient sound-muffling floor underlayment also wicks moisture away from your flooring and subfloor. The moisture-wicking underlayment uses DriWick technology to wick away harmful moisture from the subfloor while the attached vapor barrier protects the overlying flooring from moisture.
This MP Global Quiet Walk Acoustical Floating/Laminate Flooring Underlayment comes as a 3- by 33. 4-foot roll for 100 square feet.
This was the first time using this underlayment; it’s much sturdier and thicker than some of the other underlayment that I’m accustomed to using. The side that rests on the concrete reminds me of carpet padding, just not as spongy.
The side that the flooring rests on is an orange, rubber-like coating. I did notice a slight odor when rolling out the underlayment; however this smell quickly dissipated within a couple a minutes. I didn’t have problems cutting the material to size or marking with a permanent marker.
I used duct tape to bind the seams together as indicated on the instructions on the back of the roll overall this product met all expectations.
Installed in a loft over a plywood floor. It is definitely quiet and it also provides some forgiveness when the floor is not quite level so it is worth the money. Easy to work with and saves you time in the long run.
QuietWalk is a premium recycled fiber underlayment built for luxury vinyl plank, luxury vinyl tile and multi-layer flooring like WPC, SPC, and rigid core vinyl planks. Suited for both floating and glue down installations either in residential and commercial applications.
Impressive sound ratings (providing exceptional through-the-floor and footfall noise protection) make this underlayment the ideal underlayment to be installed under LVT, LVF, and MLF flooring. Provides additional comfort to the entire home during seasonal temperature changes.
Recycled fibers allow installation over concrete to “breathe” – managing vapors from becoming bulk moisture. The attached vapor barrier protects the overlying floors from harmful moisture and alkalinity.
Treated with anti-microbial to inhibit mold and mildew growth. STC rating of 62, IIC rating of 70 and Delta IIC of 28.
My husband is re doing our floor and we figured we’d give one a try. He said that he liked that it had a very easy peel strip so you can stick the extra strip of plastic to the next piece. The directions are easy to follow and the underlayment cuts with scissors or a box knife.
It is easy to work with and is a good value. It also does truly help with the volume as well as we have a basement below, so walking and running on that is annoying. So needless to say we will be buying more for the other rooms.
I really enjoyed the QuietWalk Luxury Vinyl Underlayment from QuietWalk LV. For this product, I just layed it down on my floor and let me tell you. it works wonders. My children are LOUD and they walk very heavy.
After laying this stuff down on my floor you can not hear any sounds, whatsoever. You can’t even tell that they are walking around or are even there, at that. While walking on it, I noticed right away on how soft it is.
It has insulation on the underlayment, making it smooth as a baby’s bottom. It’s so comfortable and that’s a plus for me because my feet are always in so much pain. I will recommend this product to my family and friends.
The Quietwalk luxury vinyl underlayment is a really great product. We used ours in a playhouse we were building in the backyard and it has turned out to be a really great find. This underlayment has less noise and it has a little cushion under your feet.
it also has a dry-wick technology that helps keep the floor dry. It was very easy to install. It has a built-in seam seal. It is made from recycled materials. I love this product and I would definitely recommend for anyone that is putting down a new flooring.

This underlayment is great to work with. The grid pattern helps to accurately cut and fit to your floor. If you take the time to make sure it is squared up with your starting wall it will help you check your progress as you add each row of flooring by giving you a guide on the grid pattern that you can verify that you are not getting out of alignment.
When you add another section it is important that you line up the tabs correctly so the grid stays accurate. If you aren’t using tape seal for moisture it helps to tape some of the tabs with packing tape to prevent separating as you work your way across the room.
It does hump a bit but as you add flooring it flattens right out. I have worked with rolled underlayment but this is much easier. A brand name product but at a much lower price than the boxes.

This is another “no brainer” item. gone are the days of inexpensive, thin, foam underlayments being your only option. this stuff is nice to work with, helps with small variations in substrate smoothness and is really not much more cost-wise than the least expensive underlayments.
It’s greatest attribute though? It does what it’s called. It really makes a difference in how your floor “sounds” when you walk on it. Enough said.
I have seen reviews where people said this was hard to cut. It astounds me that the manufacturer doesn’t just say to cut with a sharp pair of house hold scissors because that works really well. A box cutter is a nightmare which is why a lot of people probably struggled.
It would be great if the manufacturer put a grid on the plastic side to eliminate the need for a large T-square to get square cuts. Other than that it is a great product and a decent price. LL had the best price for it in my town.
the staff are friendly and helpful. I will be honest, I really didn’t check to see the sound deadening. I am still only halfway through the install. I have no complaints for this product.
The underlayment was nearly has hard to cut as had been posted under an earlier review. I would have like a little thicker material but had to bow to the manufacturer’s recommendation. I’m in Charleston, SC so we have to wait through the rainy season to see if keeps the moisture down like it’s supposed to do.
It comes in 33 ft x 3 foot rolls and had very little scrap so that size works well. So far it was good value and about $15 a roll less than the box stores. I ordered the first roll on line – which it took a few days for them to tell me it was “in.
” The store had some in stock the whole time. I put four of the rolls in the back of a Mustang. Pleased so far, the product is used by a lot of contractors in the area so we should be good. Thanks Lumber Liquidators!.
QEP Aquabar “B” floor and tile underlayment is an extremely effective moisture vapour retarder for use in a variety of interior construction applications. Consisting of two layers of Kraft paper laminated with asphalt, Aquabar “B” is a non-reinforced 30/30/30 duplex type Grade “B” paper.
In the battle against interior moisture damage, the best defence is a strong offence. When you block moisture vapour from creeping underneath finish materials or reaching moisture sensitive substrates, you help increase the useful life and appearance of surface finishes.
To help win the battle, the Fortifiber Building Systems Group offers Aquabar “B” as inexpensive insurance to reduce moisture-related problems.
The quality is good in terms of the thickness. However, it smells quite strong and the smell lasts quite long. Any chemical components or coatings are our biggest concern in a house. Had to return them.
I purchased the product for my hardwood floor installation only because of the good reviews. When it arrived I was surprised how thin the paper was but when I started using it I was surprised again how sturdy the paper was.
I didn’t need any extra sound or moisture insulation but the extra layer made a nice barrier between the builders mess left under the carpet and the new floor. I would definitely use it again.

QEP’s Natural Cork Underlayment is an outstanding sound barrier for all types of flooring. Besides being an environmentally friendly option, cork is also a healthy choice for any space. It’s naturally hypoallergenic, as well as mold and mildew resistant.
Natural Cork Underlayment reduces sound transmission and helps protect flooring form the transfer of subfloor stress cracks. It also reduces thermal transmission, making it ideal for use with radiant heat systems.
QEP Natural Cork products may contribute towards satisfying credits under the LEED Green Building Program. Compatible with tile, porcelain, stone, laminate and engineered click wood floors. 1/4″ (6 mm) natural cork is hypoallergenic and contributes to creating a healthy indoor air quality.
Resists the transfer of stress cracks (up to 1/8″) from subfloor through to flooring surfaces. Provides acoustical sound control and cushioning for softer, quieter footfalls. Easy to install on and above grade in both glue-down and floating floor installations.
I have order 3 rolls of cork over the last year and they arrive in great shape. It’s easy to rollout, cut and install. A roll is heavy but can be handled by a single person. Have some weights on hand to hold down the ends as there is a tendency for them to curl.
Once the laminate is on top there is no problem. The overall benefit I found are; firm footing without the hardness off concert, insulates and helps reduce the chill from the concert and deadens some of the sound.
The product quality in regards to the material is just fine. However, the description states it is 25′ (300″). Mine was 4″ short. I needed exactly 25′, and I can’t stand when manufacturers cut lengths shorter than stated.
So don’t plan on getting all the 25′ if you buy this. Short changed.
With a thickness of 3. 2mm, impact insulation class rating of 72 (IIC) and sound transmission class rating of 66 (STC) LessCare LCU3-100 acoustical-pro underlayment reduces both reflective noise and through the floor sound transference for extra quiet, premium floor feel.
The underlayment comes in rolls and can be trimmed to fit any room size and shape. Walk in silence and comfort with LessCare!.
I was a little apprehensive about the purchase, due to the fact I would be using it under Garage Trac snap together tiles in the garage, but my dreams came true. It went down easy and feels thick to the touch.
It doesn’t tear easy, but you still need to watch it when sliding around on it—-mostly your shoes. The Plastic tiles laid flat on the underlayment and were easy to stomp on and snap together, without damaging the underlayment.
Only minor indentations were made at points of impact, but went away after a few minutes, so I carried on! The floor looks great and with the underlayment it feels great as well! It is quiet when walking on it and has a bit of cushion to it and the weight of moving heavy cabinets, 800 lb.
Motorcycle and my car rolling in and out of the garage and parking in one spot for several days at a time have not seemed to bother it. Also, i can walk on the floor barefoot now without freezing my feet! It was a toss up between this and rubber, but the rubber was too expensive, so I took a chance with this (after extensive research, of course) and I am very glad that I did!!! Only time will tell how well it holds up, but for now; I am extremely satisfied and would recommend this for the garage or especially inside your home.
I will buy this again for future projects!!! Thanks!!!.
I have been a builder for forty years and we installed 900 feet of flooring in our personal home using this padding This is an excellent product very good firm padding for click flooring and about 1/3 the cost of any other comparable product I have found.
It seems to be the same as the orange padding at Home Depot.

Used in basement installation with LVP flooring and it was easy to install and provided great vapor barrier and a bit of padding. This underlayment was very cost-effective compared to others I compared when shopping.
Project turned out great! I will definitely use this product again on future projects.
I’m glad I discovered this product. It’s much better than the product I was previously using. My contractor that’s installing the LVP flooring likes it too. I plan to buy more for future rehab projects I have planned.
Generally this seems to be a good product. It came with a “V” shaped tear with each arm about 1 1/2 inches that extended through several layers as I unrolled it. I did have a hard time squaring it at times.
I stapled 1 corner and maybe due to slight stretching it always seemed to bunch up some when I got to the 3rd and 4th corners. It seems sturdy though. It’s only been in place about a week so who knows.
Overall I’m satisfied and don’t anticipate any problems.
Use Dream Home Foam Underlayment under laminate flooring or floating engineered real wood floors to even imperfections in the sub-floor and muffle sound. 100SFT Roll/ underlayment tape includedRoll measures 4′ x 25′ x 1/16″ | Dream Home Foam Underlayment For Laminate Floor 100 sqft.
I bought this pad as a lower cost alternative for a renovation to the EcoSound I used in my own home. The pad does a nice job of preventing the “click-click” sound when you walk on it. The floor (super low cost 6mm laminate from LL) was expected to sound cheap but with this padding it sounds solid and firm.
The pad can be doubled up to compensate for minor low spots in the floor. EcoSound is a little easier to install (4 foot width, pre-taped vapor barrier, lays flatter due to weight) and may be a better product in the long term but at [$], I will continue to use Dream Home foam for renovations outside my own home.
Laminate is as always, compared to all other products, the easiest to install. We live at the beach. It stands up to the sand, water, and our big dogs! Almost the same thing we installed two years before Hurricane Ike.
We put it back in and get the same compliments. The flooring is Great! Flooring is a great value for the buck but it is thin laminate and you need a stable, even floor. If your floor is not in good shape, you should probably buy something thicker.
The T-mold, I was not impressed with. It is not the same color and it looks cheap. We will build something to replace it with.
Lay 1st row making sure that it’s straight. Start your next row by cutting a full panel in half (make sure the cut edge is against the wall). this allows you to stagger the seams. Using rubber tapper, tap 2nd line of flooring into the 1st row locking the flooring together.
Start the 3rd row with a full piece of flooring. Any size piece can start the third row as long as it’s not a full piece. As you continue you will find it will get easier. BEST OF LUCK.
Dream Home’s Insulayment is perfect for glued-down, nailed hardwood or engineered wood floors. It insulates sound* and cushions floors. It helps keep floors warm in winter and cool in the summer. All this with the added benefit of an antimicrobial structure.
Meets or exceeds most condo associations’ sound proofing requirements. Used under glue-down or nail-down Solid and Engineered Hardwood flooring. Approved for use over radiant heated flooring. *In order for any isolation barrier to be effective a certain amount of compressibility is required.
Although the compression resistance and density are higher than most isolation barriers a certain amount of deflection is to be expected when installing a glue-down or nail-down flooring type. This deflection may cause a mild friction “floor noise”, especially in nail-down applications.
A minimal amount of “Floor Noise” is not considered a flooring defect. Please note this product is not recommended for nail-down applications where engineered or solid hardwood flooring is less than 3/8″ thick.
When we bought this stuff, I left the store feeling like a heel for getting talked into it. Now I’m glad I did. I laid down a bunch of planks loosely, some on this stuff and some right on the subfloor.
The difference in sound and feel was incredible. After nailing the flooring down it feels solid to me, but people tell me they feel a little give which helps reduce fatigue when standing on it for a long time.
Neither my wife or have ever had hardwood so we can’t tell. The thing we can tell is that it really does help quiet the kitchen. The new floor doesn’t sound hollow like the old self-stick tile over plywood did.
Both are gone, new floor is on the subfloor just like the old one and sounds much better.
I am building a complete new home with a ballroom in the upstairs. I wanted to minimize the transmission of noise to the downstairs so used this product under the ballroom floor, but the installers liked it so much in general that we put it under the floor in the downstairs too.
It holds together well without warping, snagging, or tearing, and lays flat. We also used short pieces for temporary entry “rugs” to protect completed portions of the floor. They caught & held dirt well and stood up to this abuse well.
It costs [$]/sqft vs $0. 30/sqft that my installer was paying for the product he usually uses, but feels it is well worth it.
Perfect product. Easy to use. Roll out over clean flat sub-floor, cut, nail hardwood on top. Really adds serious noise reduction so no click clack sound like you typically have with hardwood. Seems to add a thermal barier too.
Have extra utility knife blades since they get dull from cutting the product. Highly recommend and will use again. We used it under 3/4″ nail-in birch hardwood plank – 1100 sq. ft project in our house.
