20 Best Shoes For Nurses With High Arches (2022 Updated)

My friend at work has these shoes and loves them, so I decided to try them. I bought a half size up and was happy I did because they seem a little narrow in the toe area, but it is not a problem since I did size up.

I love the shoes, comfortable all day. I have always loved Nurse Mate shoes. These shoes did not disappoint. My only complaint is with shipping. Allheart states they ship the same day-they don’t. I believe it took nine days to receive them.

Don’t order anything from here if you are in a hurry. Now I remember why I quit ordering from this site.

I am on my feet for 8-13 hrs a day and thought these would be great. Boy was I wrong! There is little to no support which leaves not only me feet sore but legs are tired and cramping as well. They are not slip resistant either so if you work in an area that you need to be sturdy on your feet these are a horrible option.

Don’t waste your money!.

Have only worn these once but they are comfortable, true to size, functional, and better looking than many basic clogs. I was able to use my own orthotic which is always appreciated. So glad to find these to replace ones that wore out while traveling and working at the school.

Tried these shoes when working in ER. I could not fit my insoles into these shoes , they were wide and fit oddly. My feet were killing me at the end of the day and not breathable even with the side vents.

Feel unstable and do make squishy noise when I walk. Otherwise they are nice that easily clean able and look cute, had lots of compliments. They are light weight and non slip hold true. Sizing is accurate and would be good for one who doesn’t need to be on your feet all day.

Love the material. I don’t feel that there is a middle when it comes to size. I purchased a smaller size in blue which is a size bigger than my regular size. This pair I bought 2 sizes up and are big on me.

I am an 8. 5. I have this in size 9 which fit snug, these are a 10 and a bit big.

love them. i have had 3 pairs of anywears before and have told many co-workers about how comfortable about them. The only issue is I have to figure out how to make them more comfortable for a bunion I have on my right foot as they rub on it and the next size up makes them to big.

I wore the same brand, same style shoe for the 12 years of my career. When they discontinued my style several years ago, I bought every pair I could find in my size. Unfortunately, when the old ones wore out and I got these out, box by box, I found the sole separated from the shoe and dry rot on the sides of the shoes, EVERY PAIR! I started my search.

I spent money on shoes only to find I could not wear them. I had blisters on my feet from the front, side of my toe to the start of the arch but worked through it. After two weeks, they never got better so my search continued for a shoe I could wear.

I could barely walk after my 12-hour shifts. And yes, I worried my career would end; early retirement. I stumbled across these Nurse Mates. I was so reluctant to buy them, knowing they would be as bad as anything else I’ve tried but I figured, WHY NOT? I wore them to work yesterday for my fifth shift in a row.

Saturday after my shift, I literally had to hold to things to get in my house because I could hardly stand the pain. (That was the new shoes I’d been wearing for two weeks, NOT Nurse Mates). I came home last night with tired feet, tired from working five days straight on concrete floors, tired from the four and five miles a day I walked on those long 12-hr shifts.

NO PAIN! NO BREAKING IN PERIOD! I cannot recommend anyone else wear these without breaking them in first, I’m just saying I did. I was desperate and could not stand the thought of putting that other pair back on my feet.

I LOVE THESE NURSE MATES! I actually danced around, jumping and kicking my feet on the floor last night, showing my husband how I could walk, jump, and even dance WITHOUT PAIN after work! I do think they should specify the styles that have arch support.

It’s the first pair of shoes I’ve had with arch support in 12 years and IT’S AMAZING! I am on Dillard’s website right now looking to get a second pair as shipping did take an exceptionally long time but we’ll worth the wait.

I got this shoes for my daughter who works at a hospital. She was very excited to have finally comfortable shoes for work. After a few days of wearing the shoes only for work, she experienced an uncomfortable back pain.

She stopped wearing the shoes for a while and the pain went away. “Thinking there is no way is the shoes” she tried them again and couple hours later the backpain started again. Now she doesn’t want to wear these shoes afraid of the pain they will cause her.

I really like these for my work as a medical assistant. I am on my feet and they have been comfortable, my feet do not hurt at the end of day. I feel it has great support on my arch too. I love the laces and they came with an extra pair of laces! They slip on and off with ease so I can get them off quickly to take off at my door before going into house.

The pattern and material are nice. I have received many compliments!!.

I got m Klogs Naples Slip Resistant Tooled Work Clog’s for work and really glad I did they have been very comfortable to wear at work I wear them 9 to 10 hours a day and on all kinds of floors wet, dry, slippery and never once have I slipped in these shoes.

I recommend them to any one that works in the restaurant industry. Or any place where you have to stand all all. They do not leave your feet or legs feeling tired at the end of the day.

I am a grocery store checker so I mostly stand on my feet in one place 8 hrs/day. Bought these to replace my Dansko Professional Clogs. I like the Danskos even though they are a bit heavy and my heel slips out of them, which I was told is the way they are to be worn.

With that said, I decided not to get Danskos this time because I wanted a bright color option which Dansko doesn’t offer and I read good reviews elsewhere about this specific Klogs style. I always wear a 6 so ordered online and was surprised that there is still 1/2″ of room at the toes when I wear medium thick socks (not sure if they are supposed to be like that).

Toe box is roomy but someone with a very narrow foot may feel there is too much room. Other reviews implied the clogs are form fitting but my heel slips out 3/8″ when i walk Not an issue for me due to being used to that with Danskos but this may feel odd to some people.

The shoe has nice foam support inside unlike Danskos. The color is as bright and cheery as the photo shows. Although the shoes are cute, I get lots of compliments, and I’ll be keeping them, they just aren’t as comfortable as I expected.

My feet feel fatigued after standing 8 hrs straight. These shoes might be better for people who are on their feet AND do a lot of walking around. I have no foot issues such as bunions, corns, or low arches.

I am a server, and I have never found footwear that is this comfortable! No breaking in period, they have been amazing from day one. No more aching legs, back or feet at the end of a long shift. I would buy these over and over, the best investment ever if you are on your feet for long stretches!.

I went up a 1/2 size after seeing recommendations to do so. Definitely needed to – the toe box is slightly narrow for a medium shoe. I thought these were so cute and would be comfortable if my heel bone didn’t protrude out.

(Most people’s heel goes straight down). I could tell if I wore them, it would cause a blister. The shoes seem well made. I am keeping another pair that is more like a tennis shoe and the heel comes up higher.

These shoes are extremely uncomfortable. My feet hurt so badly I literally had to go home and change into my old shoes after about 4 hrs into my shift. I thought it was because they were new and need to be broken in well.

So I wore them several more times. Still never got better. The shoes are not med width but super slim. My feet aren’t slim but they are not wide either. The super tight slim fit that makes them so uncomfortable.

Total waste of money. I.

I purchased about a month ago. I work in retail and I am on my feet all day. Love these shoes, my feet do not hurt like other shoes. I went a 1/2 size bigger so I can wear it with jeans and a thicker sock.

I would like to say 4 1/2 but I can’t choose that, the only reason is that they squeak a little when walking. Otherwise, I love the shoes.

I bought these about a year ago, and they’ve been great. True to size. I love being able to quickly pull them on just using the tabs. They are easy to clean – I’ve spilled er. human waste and tube feeding on the toe box and they’ve wiped clean w/o soaking through to my sock.

I’ve never slipped. I’m on my feet at work 32 hr/wk, and this is my only work shoe. After a year I think the soles are just now starting to feel less plush and worn down which I feel is to be expected.

I will probably try inserts to prolong the life bc they’re otherwise in great shape still. Patients and coworkers have complimented / commented on how comfortable they look. I would recommend giving them a try if you like wearing tennis shoes.

Work in Dental office for 35 years. Love these shoes, I started having planters fasciitis and trouble with arthritis in joint of big toe. Tried special shoes and orthotics, but always ended up with sore feet by the end of the day, and feet hurt when I first got up in the morning.

These shoe are amazing. Since wearing these shoes I haven’t had any pain or issues, also my back feels much better. Very comfortable and feet feel great after being on them all day. Would highly recommend them.

I love this shoes they are so comfortable! I work in a vet clinic and I am on my feet all day. This shoes helped with my foot discomfort. I have only had them a couple months and they are already falling apart near the tie.

I don’t know if I have a faulty shoe or if I am rougher than normal on them working at a vet but it has only been maybe 1 and 1/2 months of wear.

I ordered the higher heel of the two Anni’s offered because of my heel issues. If you are in between sizes you should size up. Runs somewhat short. This shoe is extremely soft and comfortable and I wear them 3 x a week for work.

The quality of the leather is ok. The leather around the eyelets where lacing is now starting to wear after 6 months of wear. I will order these again despite of the wear noted because they have a lot of support and very comfortable.

I’ve been a nurse for 28+ yrs, and when I saw these shoes, I had to have them. I remember back in the day, we had to have these particular shoes in nursing school (Canada). When my orthopedic recommended shoes with an elevated heal, I got these and boy are my feet happy! Helping my plantar fasciitis and my Achilles tendonitis!!.

I absolutely love these shoes! They’re super comfortable and don’t make my feet hurt after working 10hr days. I have plantars fasciitis in my left foot and working long hours I work and being on my feet on concrete all day is absolutely miserable for me.

These shoes are the 1st pair of shoes I’ve ever owned that don’t bother my feet whatsoever and trust me I have probably 20 pairs of shoes. They’re light on your feet with great cushioning and are super easy to clean and take care of.

I’m not a nurse or doctor but I am considered an essential worker because I work for CVS Health Distribution Center. It’s a tough job and puts a toll on your body but now that I have these amazing shoes my feet are one less part of my body that is in pain.

Thank god for Gales though I’ll never buy another pair of shoes to wear to work besides them. I will say they could have a better style something more attractive looking and also I ordered a pair for my mother who works in housekeeping but the only issue I had was that they don’t come in a size wide which is what she needs so please in the near future would you consider making Gales in a wide option?! As a current nursing student I bought these shoes because of the clean look, ease of cleaning, and reported comfort. These shoes are absolutely all of those things. and also SQUEAKY. The comfort of these shoes was immediately apparent the second I put them on and I was elated to walk around my house and try them out for the day.

About an hour in I noticed the squeak. So I changed my socks thinking maybe my socks were too low-cut. the squeak persisted. These shoes are SO comfortable that I decided to try and overlook the squeak instead of returning them.

I wore them to a full clinical day (8 hours) with compression socks and they are truly so delightful and bouncy. just a little noisy. I can’t quite put my finger on what’s making the squeak, but I will not be returning these shoes because they are heavenly.

I purchased a pair as a gift for a cousin who is a nurse in Charleston, SC. Her comments are below: Primarily, they are like walking on clouds. Also, they are made of a rubber like material that you can wipe down with bleach wipes if they are contaminated in any way.

The price is very reasonable – much less than a quality tennis shoe. They are $89 and on their website they have a little discount wheel and got $15 off. Torie is in nursing school and graduates in a few weeks.

This shoe is so great to wear. The break-in period was fairly brief for me. I have loved how they support my heel and arch and there is plenty of room for my toes. The pain in the ball of my foot is much less now.

They look nice too. I especially appreciate the leather wedge-shaped detail at the ball of my foot which feels supportive and also breaks up what would otherwise be a very long (I have size 10 feet) shoe.

Based on my experience with this first purchase, I have recommended KURU shoes and boots to three friends, one of whom has bought the boots already. I have also bought a pair of Chicanes which are good and getting better.

Love this shoe. I have flat feet and plantar fasciitis as well as hip pain into lower back pain. I bought this shoe and followed the instructions to wear a couple hrs a day indoors. My heel pain went away within two days, and having had custom orthotics before I knew there would be an adjustment period.

But before the week was over I was putting them on right after showering and taking off before bed, wearing at least 12-14 hrs a day. So comfortable and supportive. It’s eliminated my hip pain, heel pain and most of my lower back pain.

Miracles these are! The only thing I would do is buy a second pair with wide width.

The best nursing shoes! HIGHLY recommend. I am a CNA and I am on my feet and walking around for 8+ hours at a time. I was initially wearing a pair of Nike shoes, but those hurt my feet so I ordered (highly rated) inserts for them.

Still, they hurt me feet a lot just a couple hours into my shift. With these shoes, I can walk and stand with no pain during my whole shift! I also give showers as a CNA, and my shoes and socks used to get wet.

These shoes are definitely waterproof, and my feet have stayed dry! I bought the white sneaker style pair, and the material also makes it very easy to keep them clean. I was a little hesitant to buy because they are relatively cheap, but decided to give them a shot after reading some other reviews, and they exceeded my expectations! If you are suffering from foot pain and you are on your feet a lot, these are a must buy.

I’ve had my new kicks for a few weeks, but feel it’s too soon to write a review Of a love or hate relationship. At first it felt like the arches weren’t placed on my arch properly. Over time that seems to be adjusting.

The size I did go a 1/2 size up. I’m torn. My foot doesn’t slip but they feel big and clunky. With that said, I’m used to topo shoes which are small and light weight, so am I comparing brands or have a true fitting issue!? Not sure, too soon to tell.

I love the tight heel, the color and over all look. The feel. Well, as I’ve said, too soon to write a fair review, so I have it 3 stars until I’ve had time to really wear and adjust to these new kicks.

If I do end up loving it, please make more appealing dress shoes. What is out there now are truly old lady styles and Kuru needs to get with the times.

I have a bad bunion on only my right foot and I’ve been using custom orthotics inside regular sneakers (currently wearing Nike flyknit). I was hoping these shoes would be as advertised in helping relieve foot pain but unfortunately did not.

I have been wearing them for almost 3 weeks now. I am on my feet for 7-8 hours a day for work and I have never felt the kind of calf muscle strain as I have with these shoes. It is stiff and heavy even after breaking into them.

The only positive I can say is that it looks nice, unlike some of the foot corrector or bunion specific shoes. Sad I feel like I have wasted money and these shoes will probably sit in the shoe box until donated.

I had ordered these these shoes 3 years ago and I absolutely loved them. They fit really well and were so comfortable. But now the design has changed. They are tight and the toe is no longer rounded but cut on a diagonal.

The quality is also a bit cheaper. I’m very disappointed. I’m going to order a size up and see if that works. I love the Klogs brand but they should stick with what originally worked! Perhaps this style will work for someone else who has shorter toes!.

I wear these for 12 hr shifts at our hospital and also wear them daily for errands, out to eat and just about everywhere. I have 4 colors. brown, black, oiled black and the tooled brown. I cannot say enough good about the arch support, cushioning and comfort! They look great with dress pants, scrubs and jeans.

I love these for walking – my wide-ball, narrow-heel, prone-to-plantar-fasciitis feet feel so much better at the end of the day in these than almost any other shoe. They are not as slip resistant as I need for job purposes, however – I slide all over a commercial kitchen floor.

This shoe with extra slip protection would be perfect.

Just as described. Fit great. I ordered an eight. It has a larger size toe bed which works it’s slightly bigger than previous shoes I have ordered.

I love my Gales. I’m an OR nurse and I spend the majority of my day walking/standing on very hard floors. These shoes are very comfortable, more so than the other sneakers I’ve worn. It really feels like standing on a cloud.

There is very little ventilation, but my feet aren’t sweaty. I do know other people who get sweaty feet when wearing them. A big thing to note is that the sizing is off. Men’s and women’s sizes are 1.

5 apart, not 2. I normally wear a 9 in women’s and a 7. 5 in men’s. I bought the 9. 5/7. 5 and they fit great. I definitely recommend these shoes if you don’t mind having hot feet. I think they’re worth it.

I ordered a pair of mint and black, but I’ve only used the mint so far because I’m in love with the color. I get compliments during every shift. I’m on my feet 12+ hours per night (7 on/7 off) and these are comfortable from beginning to end.

I’m a phlebotomist and work closely with nurses in the ER. My shoes regularly get blood, urine, and God knows what else on them. I have never had such an easy shoe to quickly clean and sanitize! I highly recommend these shoes.

The shoe itself is really pretty and I love that they are water repellent (I work in veterinary medicine so they have saved my feet from various pee accidents from my patients). I have gotten a lot of complements about the look and color.

BUT they are not comfortable at all for people that work on their feet for long shifts. I thought since they were geared toward nurses that they would have some sort of support. My feet hurt so much a few hours into my shift and afterwards that I can’t wait to take them off on my lunch break and when I get home.

I normally wear Asics or Nike and have not had issues like this before. Another thing is it feels like the front of the shoe dips down some so my big toe gets pinched throughout the day as I walk or stand.

The shoe is a size 9 which is my normal size and my foot slides very little so I don’t think a size down would help- probably would be more tight. Of course I was not going to know how they fully felt until I worked in them for a full shift.

Sadly I know they do not have any refunds on shoes that are worn but you can’t expect to have a good idea of how they will do until you test them out. Overall, I would have expected a shoe that costs $140 to be more comfortable and have way better support.

This shoe would be better for someone that has more of a sedentary job and only has minimal standing time.

The concept is great- I retired my dansko cause I wanted something more form fitting, plus it doesn’t look great in joggers and I was tired of wearing my ultraboost (my favorite shoes) to work. Pros:1: waterproof and easy to clean up2: color is cute (I bought the lemonade)3: good for wide feet cause it does stretch (pro & con w the stretch).

Cons:1: the shoe laces are stretchable but I wished it came in a shorter length. I had to tighten mine so that it was more fitted but it made them long that I had to put a knot in them so they weren’t flopping around when I’m walking.

Then of course it left a weird crease on the front of the shoes cause the laces were tightened. 2: I’ve had these shoes for about 3 weeks now (I work 3 -12hr shifts) and have noticed the insoles have already given away that I can “feel” the bottom”.

Cushion 0 stars – (I felt like I just bought some cheap throw away shoes, but it cost $129+) for how long they last— horrible. 3: Not much of an arch – and my heels were starting to hurt, partly due to the minimal cushioning.

Unfortunately, I won’t be buying these shoes again especially when it only lasted for a VERY short period of time. The concept was good… but definitely not for healthcare if your constantly on your feet for a 12hr shift in the acute care setting.

I didn’t think this shoe provides enough ankle support for someone working 12s. My friend who’s a nurse has one of their original models and now that Clove upgraded the insole and outer sole, I thought they might be better but the ankle support was still to minimal for me to enjoy wearing them (which was my friends same criticism of the pair they had).

When I’m paying $120+, I feel that I should enjoy walking in them comfortably and have proper support in the sole and ankle. I’m mostly writing this because I was disappointed about the return policy not being clear.

I think that was a little deceiving since when I looked months back, I thought that returns were free if you decided they didn’t work out. Returns are $10 which you won’t know until you go to return them and get to the return options screen.

I think it would be nice if this was more clear but that would likely mean less sales since people would want to be more sure they would work out. If you sit more than stand or are happy in vans/converse, maybe you’d like these.

For me, ankle support is more important than looks so I’m going to try out new balances through Amazon (plus returns are free).

I learned of OrthoFeet after researching good shoes for people with long toes. Although at only 5’3 I know little of long body parts, I inherited my 6’1 father’s long, luxurious toes — including his Morton’s toe, which leaves an annoying little hole in 80% of my socks — and have spent decades jealous of the tiny jelly beans other women have for toes instead of these sloth-like digits 🙂 The description about length warned that a size up would need to be ordered on this particular style, so while I’m normally a size 6.

5, I ordered them in a 7. The shoes are great, clearly designed and packaged with care, hence the 5 stars. Unfortunately, my feet are on the narrow side, so the medium width of a size 7 just felt too big.

My heel was threatening to slip out with every step, yet the toe box was barely long enough, so going any smaller in size would have compressed my toes into total discomfort. I played around with combinations of the two different spacers and heel support and different sock thicknesses to see what would make the sneaker feel snug enough not to threaten to fall off as I walked.

I finally found what works for me, including using a narrow-footed lacing pattern I found online that looks like a drunk toddler tied my shoes for me. They’re still slightly loose-feeling on the sides and heel, but they finally accommodate my toes, which has been a lifelong challenge, so I decided not to take advantage of OrthoFoot’s generous shipping and return policy.

I’m making the shoes work. But I appeal to OrthoFeet to keep those of us with long toes, but not necessarily large feet, in mind when designing future sneakers. I love the style, but either an extra long toebox or narrow size option would have created the perfect fit I’ve been seeking.

So far, only a brand called NurseMates has been able to make sneakers that fit me perfectly. I hoped OrthoFeet would be a new option. It’s really, really close.

I rarely write reviews but I feel I need to for these shoes. I have severely flat feet. My arches are always swollen and my feet always hurt. I’ve had many different types of expensive prescription orthotics and they never seem to help any more than the store bought ones to be honest.

This shoe is the most comfortable one I’ve had. The pain in the top of my foot is almost gone and the plastic inserts give me just enough support. My arches aren’t aching like they use to. I work at a Y as a wellness coach so I have a closet full of various workout shoes but these are my favorite and the only ones I want to wear anymore.

I bought the black, then the turquoise and will probably be buying the pink. They have truly been a game changer for me! Please continue to make more colors! I am a 9 and usually size up to a 9. 5 for athletic shoes but I probably could have sized up to a 10 and used the inserts they give you.

If you’re in between, I would suggest doing that.

I’m a hot mess. Foot pain, pronation, back pain, scoliosis, hip pain, and of course rotten, old arthritic knees (guess mama was right – I spent way too much time on them in my youth). Pardon me dirty man – I’m talking about 42 years of skating, hockey, cheerleading, paintball, basketball, volleyball, jumping off roofs – don’t ask why.

it takes it’s toll. Anyway – 50’s creep up and it got to where I couldn’t take my poor puppy around the block for a walk without feeling excruciating pain somewhere, everywhere. He was not a happy puppy.

I hit rock bottom on the activity scale – so I bought a pair of Verve’s – and “oh boy” that hit the spot! Within a few weeks, I was wearing out my Great Dane – going for miles and running him crazy around the dog park – sometimes twice a day.

Now, my Dane’s worn out, and I can’t get enough. No sir – you dirty, dirty man – from exercising. (ick). I’ve since bought Tahoe, Coral and Naples. And they’re all great. So much better than the “bums” I used to get.

But Verve. my my my. will always hold a very, very special place in my heart. I’ll definitely being hitting up Verve again.
