Low porosity hair is hair that has difficulty absorbing moisture. This means that your hair may feel dry, brittle, and/or frizzy. Shampoos and conditioners for low porosity hair are designed to help your hair absorb and retain moisture.
These products typically contain ingredients that help to smooth and seal the hair cuticle, which allows moisture to enter the hair shaft more easily. In addition, low porosity hair products often contain humectants, which are ingredients that attract and retain moisture.

I have always had very thick, long, shiny virgin hair and my sister has always had hair a little thinner than mine, but still short, full hair. We both shared a bottle of this and started losing an insane amount of hair.
I have never had issues with losing hair from a product prior to this. I would lose no less than 30 hairs in the shower as well as out of the shower after, and every time I brushed same thing. Same with my sister.
Our hair is both now thinner to the touch and visibly due to a month of using this product before making the correlation. We both go for regular hair cuts, so I know that this product was the culprit, as it was the only thing that changed in our hair care and diet.
If you want an alternative to Nair, this may work for you and doesn’t smell quiet as strong!! Other than that, run!.
Absolute best shampoo I have ever tried. I usually have kind of an itchy scalp. It feels like there’s build up on it as well because my skin isn’t very oily. I usually do oil treatments to help treat my dry scalp, but this amazing shampoo has helped me completely skip this.
It’s the best shampoo because it’s the only shampoo I’ve tried that cleanses but is actually moisturizing too. I like that it has natural ingredients because it doesnt add to the build up feeling and cleanses.
I also like that you can use a lot of it without drying your hair if you really want to massage your scalp and cleanse it. I’ve turned my boyfriend onto it as well even tho his hair is super oily. It’s honestly the only thing that has helped my scalp and cured it.
Been noticing my hair has been growing like crazy after this shampoo too!.
I have low porosity, dry hair that’s kinda medium-coarse & medium thick, curl pattern that’s hard to identify, kinda 2c with some 3a I guess, but it really varies all over my head?, but getting quite long, so it’s hard to balance actually cleaning my scalp without parching my ends.
My co-wash was fine, but shampooing was usually annoying bc I knew my hair would take a hit. But this one really does it! Was nervous at first bc of how much it lathered (that’s usually a bad sign), but was pleasantly surprised at how moisturizing it felt even while working it into my hair.
And after air drying, my curls are back! They’d started to lose their shape and look just wavy & fried & sad before this. Of course, this doesn’t provide enough slip to detangle, but I usually do that after washing anyway with a couple rounds of conditioning.
The scent is nice & mild, a little floral and fruity.
This sulfate-free shampoo cleanses while infusing hair with intense moisture and shine-enhancing nutrients. Certified Organic Shea Butter, Honey, Mafura and Baobab are blended into a rich formulation of restorative oils to soften and revitalize hair.
Antioxidant-rich African Rock Fig helps boost hydration while protecting distressed hair from environmental influences.
Recently I was able to participate in a unique mission for Topbox Circle to test and review Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo and Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner.
I purchased both full sized 384 ml bottles at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. After reviewing both products, and submitting my receipt, I will be reimbursed by Topbox Circle for the purchase of these two products.
I used this Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo for the past couple of weeks. I tend to shampoo my naturally wavy to curly hair every other day, and condition it less often, or as needed.
This Sulfate Free and Colour Safe Shampoo is made with Fig Extract and Boabab Oil to “Hydrate and Replenish Extra Dry, Damaged Hair”. I found this shampoo relatively thick in texture and so it was a bit hard to get out of the bottle.
Found myself having to squeeze the bottle, especially when the bottle was less full, to get the product out. The Conditioner comes in a pump bottle. This shampoo richly lathers and rinses off well. I experienced no irritation on my scalp or skin.
It felt gentle. The fragrance on the other hand is far too strong for me. I like the smell of figs and honey, but there’s a potent fragrance to this product. The scent is a bit too much. Shea Moisture is not my usual brand for hair products, but I wanted to try something new.
This shampoo left my hair perfumed, shiny, clean, and soft. My curls looked defined. I found the oils and/or conditioners in this product a bit too heavy for daily use (every second day use for me) but I would consider using Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner weekly, or as a hair treatment.
I recommend this product to people with dry and/or curly hair who are looking for a fragrant, moisturizing shampoo. #freeproduct #trywithtopbox #SheaMoisture #topboxcircle #topbox.
I received this #freeproduct from #topbox in return of my honest review Catering specifically for dry, damaged hair, the Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo from Shea Moisture works to replenish and rejuvenate from root to tip.
My hair used to be normal but after birth of my kids and developing thyroid problems my hair gets very very dry and rough. And look so damaged. Not every shampoo works for me. But I was so happy that after trying this shampoo, this became one of the products that works wonders for me.
This Shampoo is sulfate free and cruelty-free. It leathers well and leave a pleasant honey scent. The scent is a bit overpowering so if you are sensitive to strong smell then it will be a little irritating for you.
Other then that it works wonder. My hair felt soft and manageable but also note that this product will work if we use it with conditioner. I highly recommend this. Only problem I found that its a bit pricey and also I wish they make this shampoo bottle with pump dispenser like the one conditioner bottle has.
Reduce breakage and treat hair and scalp to a deep clean without harsh ingredients. Cantu Shea Butter Sulfate-Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo is an award-winning product that boasts a rich lather that gently cleanses and moisturises and helps to reduce breakage during shampooing.
It’s formulated with Shea Butter to effectively treat dry, itchy scalps and dandruff. The lather works hard to clean deeply and remove the heavy build-up of hair products to leave your clients’ hair fresh and restored.
It does this without resorting to harsh ingredients, which means its gentle formula is great for natural or coloured hair. In other words, you won’t find mineral oils, sulfates, parabens, silicones, phthalates, gluten, paraffin or propylene anywhere in this product! Comes in a 400-ml bottle.
I have been using the Cantu range for about 5-6 months now and I can really see and feel a difference in my hair. It was so damaged and dry due to not being cut during lockdown and, a lot of hair loss after the birth of my daughter.
It was in such a bad state. I thought I’d give this a go as it claims it’s hydrating, which is what my hair needed most. The first few washes I found my hair greasy at the roots, however, I continued with my trial and kept using it, just altering the amount until I found the right amount for my hair.
Now my hair is shiny, soft and so much healthier, even my hairdresser commented how much better it looks and how lovely and soft it is. I also use the kids range on my daughter, she is 2 and had dry hair that wasn’t growing at all.
After the first couple of months I noticed her hair was in much better condition and it had grown a bit too. Now 6 months on and there has been a significant amount of growth. I don’t think the shampoo and conditioner is some miracle hair growth product, but I think because it’s improved the condition of her hair, it’s encouraged proper hair growth.
I will continue using this range as it’s been a godsend for my hair. I recommend trying this but, persevere with it as it took a few months for me to see some real improvements. Definitely worth it though.
I’ve tried Cantu products before and they’ve always been a little disappointing. This product, however, did not disappoint at all! I was in the market for a clarifying shampoo for my naturally curly hair and stumbled upon this one at target.
Loved the price point and the scent so I bought it not expecting much. I was thoroughly impressed with how well it cleansed my scalp, which always gets a lot of buildup. It’s clarifying so it does leave the squeaky clean feeling but it doesn’t feel drying.
I’ve been using once a week or every 2 weeks for the last few months and my hair loves it. Will definitely repurchase and keep this as a staple in my routine.
I have been using this product for around a month now, with 1-2 washes per week, and I’ve really enjoyed it. For reference I would consider my hair to be wavy with some curls here and there. This was also my first time trying a shampoo for curly/wavy hair so unfortunately I can’t compare it to others.
The first time I used this my scalp did feel a bit strange, but after that first wash I didn’t experience that feeling again, so I think it was because I was so used to using cheap sulfate shampoos. Since using this shampoo I don’t think I would go back to sulfate shampoos (except for a clarifying wash every month), it truly does make you hair feel nourished.
Plus, even though the formula feels creamy, it doesn’t feel heavy, it didn’t weigh down my hair, and it left it all clean, so I would highly suggest it for wavy hair. I have noticed a nice difference in my hair too, it feels more hydrated and I’ve been getting more waves and curls.
What I do recommend if you get this product is that you don’t pour too much in your hand. Instead, really work the shampoo in, as a little seems to go a long way for my shoulder length hair. Also it has a nice smell, sort of tropical.
Go natural with Desert Essence Desert Coconut Shampoo. Coconut Oil Cleansers gently cleanse dry or damaged hair. Organic Jojoba oil moisturizes hair and scalp so hair looks and feels healthier. Organic Olive Oil leaves hair soft and silky without weighing it down.
Cleans hair, gently and effectively Does not contain harsh detergents that strip the hair of its natural oils Infused with Pro Vitamin B5 for reduced breakage and increased moisture No parabens, sulfates, petrolatum, lanolin, artificial colors, or animal testing.
Size: 13 Fl oz Experience amazing results with tgin Moisture Rich Sulfate Free Shampoo for natural hair. This unique formula is enriched with coconut oil to gently cleanse your hair, and amla oil to reduce breakage and increase moisture retention.
The result is healthy hair that is left feeling soft, smooth and moisturized.
This shampoo feels and smells luxurious. I have very dry hair and it is usually very tangled on wash day. I started with the TGIN co-wash, which also is amazing, but decided to use this to clean my scalp because it is also irritated and itchy most of the time.
I only used a little bit, like barely the size of a nickel and it spread evenly so I was impressed. I wash my hair in my shower and have a comb attachment on the shower head. I did have to section my hair because it was tangled per usual into four sections and started gently de tangling using the wide tooth comb, the tangle teaser and the “WATER PICK” comb attachment and fingers and without conditioner I got through it with very little shedding or breakage.
I want this to be very detailed for you because I know results vary but it is not high slip it actually makes the hair feel hydrated and easy to comb. I have varied textures of hair and half of it is more “natural” texture and the bottom half more “heat damaged” so products behave differently from top to bottom.
As a person who dreads washing her hair I think this product will make you happy regardless of your race, ethnicity or hair type especially if your hair strands are thicker, coarse or curly and you have a lot of density.
I would not recommend for very fine hair and low density unless you skip conditioner because it’s very moisturizing. Final note, it smells good, has a light non-floral fragrance and didn’t irritate my scalp.
(I hope you got the hannibal reference) My hair has been falling out alot. I have an autoimmune disorder. I experienced a flare up and my hair shed so much. To make matters worse, I also had covid, which triggered another flare up.
The stress probably didn’t help. Right now I am on immunosuppressants, such as Imuran. Imuran has made my hair shed worse and my hair is brittle! I have short medium thick hair in a pixie cut. My hair is straight.
I used this for the first time today and OMG my hair feels so soft. It brought life back to my hair. The smell is fresh and citrusy. It doesn’t sud up alot but it still lathers. My hair couldn’t retain moisture, I invested so much on high end brands.
I used this with the Mielle antishedding Conditioner.
This shampoo smells delicious but the fragrance doesn’t irritate my very sensitive scalp. It kind of smells like upgraded Garnier if I had to describe it. I used it with the cowash conditioner and the gel and my hair looks so good! Defined curls that are lightweight and not crunchy.
For reference I have very thick fine hair with loose curls. Probably closest to 3a curls. I will have the whole family try it. Their curls range from 3b to 4c and I think it’ll work well for all of them.
You do need a lot so if we keep using it I think a larger bottle would be nice.
I bought both the Low Porosity shampoo and conditioner. Massive amounts of shed. I had to use a decent amount of shampoo and a massive amount of conditioner to even cover my 2BC tresses. The cap on the shampoo makes it poor out fairly quick so make sure you have it right side up before you click the cap button.
The pump on the conditioner is nice. The smell on the product was throwing me while using it until I realized it smelled similar to Vicks vaporub. There is both menthol and tea tree oil in the product so I attribute it to that.
It does dissipate after a while so its not too off putting long term but strong while its on. If you suffer migraines or tension headaches you may actually like the mint as it does feel nice on the scalp.
It was like using my peppermint roll on over my entire head. My hair did look decent out of the shower but I found it building oil fairly quick. For the amount of product I used just in one wash and the amount of shed it caused I did not think it worth it.
When I ordered this; I thankfully also ordered the Mixed Chicks shampoo, deep conditioner, leave in and morning after foam. I think those are working much better for my hair (virtually zero shed) and I’m not using nearly as much.
If you are low porosity, type 2 or 3 curls and find the Shea Moisture LP doesn’t work for you I would give that line a shot instead. I think this line could work for some people as my hair did look fairly good initially but something in the product obviously just wasn’t meshing with me personally based on the level of shed and how quickly I got oily at the scalp.
i never write reviews for anything but holy cow this quite literally saved my hair. for reference i have a mix of 2b, 2c, and 3a hair due to years of coloring and heat damage. i have quite a bit of hair and it’s thick, low porosity, and protein sensitive.
no matter what “hydrating” products i’ve used my hair has always felt dry and never absorbed anything i put in it. i got my colored red hair retouched recently and not quite sure what my stylist used to treat my hair this time around but it came out sooo dry and brittle.
after some research and finding out more about my hair type i decided to try this plus the conditioner that goes with it. and wow is all i have to say. i’ve never had hair this soft straight out the shower and it’s so easy to comb through now.
curls i thought were lost forever returned. i’m also noticing less hair fallout probably from my hair not being so tangled anymore. this shampoo cleanses really well without stripping my hair and it just overall transformed the look and feel of my hair.
I recently came across an article about hair porosity, which I’d never heard of, and discovered that I have low porosity hair. All my life, I’d been using the wrong type of products on my hair. I did a lot of research and this product always came up in the discussion.
So, the shampoo and leave in hoping it would do something for my dry gummy feeling hair. Oh. My. Goodness. My hair has never felt better! I’ve tried other products since discovering ya’ll, but I always have to rewash with your products.
Please don’t discontinue. Now I’m just trying to figure out how to moisturize my scalp without making my hair oily.

SheaMoisture hair care products, including this high porosity moisture replenish hydrating shampoo, have been tested on family and friends for generations and never on animals. Our Story: SheaMoisture is the legacy of Sofi Tucker, a pioneering mother of four and entrepreneur who sold Shea Butter, African Black Soap and homemade beauty preparations in Sierra Leone in 1912.
Shampoos are traditionally meant to be a relatively quick step in the hair care routine. Wet hair, suds up, rinse out, done. Finding a shampoo that does anything significant in that amount of time is pretty uncommon, in my experience.
This shampoo was different. I honestly did only use it twice, over the span of two weeks, and where as I can say I noticed a semi long term change in my hair- the immediate difference was definitely there.
I have really thick hair that I straighten after every shower, and therefore can get pretty dry. In the maybe 60 seconds it took me to apply the shampoo and rinse it out? My hair already felt significantly more nourished.
I had less flyaways, and individual strands of hair seemed to be significantly more resistant to breakage. I did use this with the matching hair mask, which was just okay, along with a leave in conditioner from another brand.
I’d prefer there to be either a more fruity or floral smell versus the earthy/nutty smell it currently has, but otherwise? I was really impressed with the immediate improvement I felt in my hair after washing out.
I added a before and after pic so everyone could see how dry and brittle my hair was before I shampooed and used the conditioner mask. I can already tell this is going to be apart of my holy grail hair care after just 2 uses.
It made my hair so much more manageable and sealed in moisture. Usually after I blow dry I lose so much hair in that process due to it being dry, but not today. The ends of my hair feel so good to the touch which is something I’m not use to.
This shampoo smells wonderful and lathers up easy. You don’t need much to get the scalp and hair clean. I usually always still have some flakes even after I shampoo a few times, but after using this I haven’t spotted any flakes when brushing my hair.
Deeply nourishing and moisturizing for my daughters thick, damaged and dry hair. She reports that she enjoyed the scent and how it lathered nicely and left her hair soft and manageable without drying it or causing more damage.
This is especially formulated for curly and coily hair but worked so well she requested the matching masque/conditioner. It is full of super foods and other good stuff like, baobab, aloe vera and oils like mongongo and jojoba.
No sulfates, parabens or phalates. It is cruelty free and I have enjoyed other Shea Mountain products for years.
SheaMoisture Mongongo & Hemp Seed Oils High Porosity Moisture-Seal Shampoo gently cleanses while strengthening the most porous, coarse and over-processed hair. Perfect for low-retention curls and coils that feel dry, rough and bumpy.
Enriched with deeply hydrating Mongongo and Hemp Seed Oils, together with organic Shea Butter and fortifying Baobab Protein to smooth down rough cuticles and seal in moisture. Irish Moss helps condition hair and enhance shine.
Now that I’ve tried the product for my natural hair, the curl enhancing did not work well. I looked at a video of a young lady using the product and she twisted strands of her hair to make it curl after wetting her hair and applying this product.
Her results were very nice curly locks, however, when I tried the exact same method, it did not work. Not achieving the curly results, I braided my hair with the product intact, and left the braids in for several days.
The look resulted in wavy, stringy strands of hair. Ok if you are satisfied with that look. Maybe my hair is too coarse, or I may try it again dividing my hair into smaller strands to see if it curls.
The product smell good, and it’s not too heavy on the hair. It was a good deal for two jars.

I have 1A-1B hair as well as a thyroid condition (which i personally believe has attributed to my hair struggles). I’ve used Salon Quality products for 16 years and have only had some limited experience with silicone free hair care products, I’ve always had bad experiences going silicone free but this time it was nearly painless.
While my hair hasn’t always been dry and I’ve always tried to keep it healthy its been causing me greif for a year. The longer it got the drier it got even with adequate hair care and hair cuts. My scalp is oily but from midway down to the ends my hair is dry and tangles so easily, I lose most hair by trying to brush it out.
The process I found for me that works is to wash my hair with the greens shampoo, condition with the greens conditioner, rinse, then use the manuka honey hair mask and leave on in the shower for a few minutes while I do my body care (really massaging both conditioner and mask into my hair strands well), rinse the mask, then use the conditioner again (massage into the strands), then rinse.
It sounds like a lot for my hair type and it probably is but I’ve been trying to find an adequate solution for the last 2 years in terms of adequately moisturizing my hair while keeping balanced roots.
its been impossible and there have been added obstacles like developing allergies. The conditioner alone or mask then conditioning isn’t enough for my hair. I’m really so in love with these products and I’m so happy they’re easily accessible where I live.
My scalp isn’t irritated any longer, im not having any random scalp break outs or redness and my hair isn’t constantly so tangled that I have to just keep it in a bun to hide the rats nest until I can oil it up and brush it out and repeat the same process over with do much care and no permanent resolve.
The smell is yes, like a very healthy smoothie but it also as you begin rinsing it out smells a lot like a very basic bar soap as well. I find it very interesting, somewhat nostalgic (soap smell), gives off a healthy vibe so you feel better if you are washing your hair daily and its therapeutic.
I was contemplating cutting all of my long hair off (24 inches) just to get some relief and now I dont feel I have to.
This conditioner is formulated without chlorides in the top half of the product list which makes it a very mild formulation for people who’s hair has a damaged keratine layer by using the wrong type of products or naturally high porous hair.
If you have such hair try to avoid products with Behentrimoium Chloride or Centrimonium Chloride in the TOP half of the INCI. In the lower half is SAFE then the added percentage of the chloride won’t damage the cuticle.
Chlorides are safe ingredients but in the top half of a product they are ment to open up the cuticle to allow product penetration. High porous or damaged hair doesn’t need that. This product is very mildly formulated.
It is a nourishing conditioner that is very rich in high quality oils. Personally I have fine hair (thin strands, low density) I only need a pea size amount of this product, if you have thicker strands or more density you can use more but start with the pea size to build up evenly.
I also use this conditioner to refresh. I’ve come to find my fine hair strands hate all that water refreshing from the CG method because pure water causes to swell the strands and damages the cuticles from inside out.
Instead of fully wetting my hair I take a tiny bit of a safe conditioner like this one and work that through the hair. The first ingredient of any conditioner is always water and that is enough for my strands to feel moisturized again.
I’ve used high-end shampoos and conditioners for 15 years. Theres a clear difference in quality, results and hair health. My scalp has had so many reactions in the last 6 months, I’ve found out I’m allergic to a common preservative (uncommon allergy) and finding any shampoo high end or otherwise has been pretty difficult.
I tried this product and had never used any Shea Moisture products before (I have fine, natural and unnaturally blonde, mostly straight, dry and tangles hair) from what I’d known about the brand I just believed it was not for someone with my hair type and it is drug store so I expected less.
I was wrong. This shampoo has helped my scalp heal, my scalp will still be very oily but it isn’t as bad as it was and it lathers so well. I had doubts since it was so watery but I just squeeze from the bottle straight onto my hair.
This doesn’t strip my hair, the adjustment to silicone free has been difficult but not as difficult as I expected. My hair is moisturized but not weighed down, my scalp is clean but not dry or itchy.
The scent is great too. I used to hate washing my hair and was considering chopping off all of my beautiful long hair to avoid the tangles but now I feel like I can continue to grow it. I know its silly but I was being told by hair stylists that my hair is healthy but the amount it tangled had me in tears just trying to find a solution to smoothing it out without ending up with a greasy mess.
I finally feel some hope, my hair isn’t perfect but its a solid 75% better because of this shampoo.
Replenishes moisture, improves manageability, adds shine! So, fix it in an instant with help from this sulfate-free, color-safe shampoo that cleanses and restores your natural moisture without adding weight to your hair.
Aloe leaf juice hydrates your hair so it’s softer and more manageable, while sweet clover and rose extract give hair oodles of healthy.
My hair was dry after the winter months and I tried Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Shampoo and conditioner and saw improved results. My scalp was free from itch, my hair obtained more moisture and breakage became minimalistic.
I have tried several hair products, but Carol’s Daughter never disappoints. The smell of the black vanilla is present, but not strong. I was not smelling like a freshly baked cake. Carol’s Daughter is moderately priced and available at many local beauty supply or deugstores.
I trust Carol’s Daughter products to help with achieving and maintaining a healthy head of hair again.
My hair is noticably softer and shinier than it has been, possibly ever. The pump doesn’t dispense a large amount of product, but I found that this is because you absolutely don’t need a whole lot, even with crazy thick hair like mine.
It might be a little more spendy than what I was using before, but I have no doubt that the bottle will last longer because I can use so little. I’m really thrilled with this!.
This shampoo and conditioner smells amazing and it helped with my curls, however it is probably the worst shampoo and conditioner I have ever used. This stuff turned my hair into straw unprovoked!! I followed my wash with a deep conditioning hair mask that I left on for 30 minutes from shea moisture and it still feels terrible.
If you’re looking to improve your curls with something that smells good, it’ll do the job but it will also make your hair frizzy and coarse.
Maui Moisture Curl Quench Coconut Oil Shampoo starts with a unique blend containing aloe vera juice and is infused with pure coconut water, unlike some other shampoos that start with deionized water as their first ingredient listed.
Rich coconut oil is blended into this creamy, gentle shampoo along with papaya butter and plumeria extract. It helps detangle, defrizz and define curls while enhancing softness and body for shiny, bouncy curls, coils, or waves.
Moisturized strands, mended split ends and a healthy glow with every use.
I tried the shampoo, conditioner, and curl cream so my review is for all 3 together. First of all, the scent!! It is the most amazing tropical coconutty scent that really lasts on your hair. The shampoo is Curly Girl approved but the other products are not, unfortunately.
This line is designed for thick curly hair but I have thin slightly wavy hair, so understand that my review is coming from that perspective. The shampoo lathered up really nicely but didn’t feel like it was stripping my hair.
It’s sulfate free so I’m not sure where the lather was coming from but I loved it! The conditioner and curl cream had really good slip and helped me form great clumps. Because my hairs are thin, I chose to put the cream on soaking wet hair and scrunched most of it out (I believe the directions say to use it on towel dried hair).
I finished off with mousse and was left with a great cast that scrunched out beautifully. While I’m a little concerned about the non curly girl approved ingredients, overall this is an awesome line and such a steal!! Very happy!.
I was excited to try a new curl enhancing product. I have curl type 2a that usually takes well to a lighter product. This product felt heavy and oily. Once I rinsed it out throughly it still felt as if there was a heaviness and oiliness left in my hair.
The fragrance was a very strong coconut smell. Though it didn’t smell bad, it was completely overpowering and sweet smelling. As I continued to add to my hair from this line of product, the fragrance only got stronger, and the product only felt heavier and greasier.
I would say if you love a heavily fragranced product and have a curlier curl type (maybe coarser hair and more of a ringlet curl) this product may work well for you. For me with fine hair and a more “delicate” curl type, this product weighed down my hair and wasn’t very effective.
That with the overpowering fragrance I will be sticking with my current line of product. For now, I’ll be walking around smelling like Malibu Barbie until my next wash day.
Instantly strengthen hair by 34%. This Roux Porosity Control Shampoo 233 Repair System is an ideal finishing shampoo for predictable chemical service results on extremely damaged, overly porous hair.
This shampoo cleanses the hair without stripping natural oils while conditioning the hair where it needs it most. Used daily, this shampoo repairs porous hair and keeps chemically treated hair lustrous and vibrant.
This is a great product! I was very surprise when the company change the product and I couldn’t find the original. This product have helped my hair tremendously! I got my items fast and everything was secure.
I will definitely order again. I highly recommend this product for over-processed, breakage, and shedding. Hands down this is a great product!!.
This has been around for ages. If you color often because your color is fading too quickly on you then this is a must have. There is also a treatment you can get to put on immediately after you color to seal the cuticle of your hair.
This will not only keep hair color longer but help with strength and breakage concerns.
I used this conditioner today mixed in with my regular deep conditioner (silicon mix) and it was amazing. i still cant get over how smooth my hair has become. Earlier in the week my hair was extremely dry and trust me i used everything but once i put this in my deep conditioner, life was great.
I am going to be using it every week for the next month and afterwards, once a month.

I have 2A/2B wavy, medium porosity, thick shoulder length hair. I have been looking for a shampoo that both makes my hair feel clean after a hospital shift, and keeps my waves fluffy and smooth. This shampoo checks all the boxes and more.
It smells clean and the smell lasts out of the shower. It does get foamy, which I like, but I do have to use a good amount for both my upper and lower layers. But for this price, I don’t mind using a lot of product at once.
Make sure to use your fingers to scrub this into your scalp, for the best effect. I wouldn’t use this alone, as I can feel it leaves my hair tangled, after it has washed out. Definitely use this with their Leave-In Conditioner, for the best results (I use it as a regular wash-out conditioner as well).
I use these two products with their Morning After Foam as well, and get lots of compliments on my big wavy hair :).
This is everything that a shampoo should be. My first impression of the smell was that it just smells clean- it smells like what soap should smell like. Other than that, I can’t really explain it. I used it once so far, so I’m not quite a pro with it and I don’t really know the best way to use it for myself.
I used a kinda big glob at first and it was kinda hard to lather, but it could have been my mistake because my previous shampoo was very easy to lather. So then I got my hair wetter and got another glob the same size and put it on the back of my head underneath my hair and it worked better, but then I had to put another big glob straight onto the top of my head.
It didn’t really work for me when I rubbed it in my hands and then applied it. When I did get a lather out of it, it was so creamy and rich and just. nice. My hair is so shiny and soft and very smooth, and this is the first day I haven’t had dandruff in probably 5 years.
I looked close up at my scalp and there’s no buildup. This definitely is a game changer for me, and I’m gonna be using this for a very long time.
I use other MC products and they do well by me. I tried the MC shampoo and have to say it really cleans deeply. I don’t shampoo too often, but when I have a lot of product build-up I like to get a good deep shampoo and this worked.
I would say it is a “clarifying shampoo”. Smells good. For value, I will say 4 stars instead of 5 only because you can get cheaper shampoos around. My problem with the super cheap stuff is I wonder where it comes from and what is in it.
Seriously, how can a 1L shampoo cost 6 dollars?! Absolutely zero chance of someone making that without bad working conditions. I will pay for the quality. MC is worth it in a fair way.
This all-natural Babassu Oil Conditioning Shampoo from Mielle Organics will leave your hair feeling salon worthy. This shampoo does not strip your hair. Instead, the babassu oil, which comes from a naturally growing Amazonian palm-fruit rich in sterols and tocopherols, penetrates deep in the hair follicle to moisturize from the root up and trigger hair growth.
Pair this product with Mielle’s Babassu and Mint Deep Conditioner for an even more dazzling result.
Okay so I’m a wavy girl, but most importantly my hair is BRITTLE, fine, porous, & dry all the time. It breaks like nobody’s business. I literally thought that was just going to be my life forever until I tried this shampoo.
I’ve tried other moisturizing shampoos & they either do basically nothing or completely weigh it down. This legitimately felt like it changed my hair. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS FORMULA! Like my hair & scalp literally feels SO HAPPY after I wash it, and it stays clean for around 3 days – amazing.
Best thing ever. I tried other brands with similar ‘oil in the formula’ approaches when they stopped carrying this in my local store, but no dice. Nowhere even CLOSE!.
This shampoo along with the conditioner is my favorite Mielle products! It cleans my hair from all the dirt and OMG the smell 🥰 is the best! When I use it everyone comments on how good my hair smells! I have noticed that since using this shampoo, my hair has stopped shedding, and that alone makes this shampoo worth every single penny! You only need a small amount with each use, it lathers well and it makes your scalp feel so good! My boyfriend loves the smell too! I statutes using it on his hair too! Every time Mielle has a sale, I purchase it! I have four bottles in my cabinet lol Do yourself a favor and purchase this shampoo, you can thank me later!.
This product feels like a peppermint massaging your scalp. It smells so amazing with out leaving behind residue. I’m telling you I would love for you to purchase it as well so you can experience the most relaxing time of your day.
leave a review so I can see how much you loved your products. I also have a full video on instagram @TheRealAmariJordan of me washing my daughters hair with the products and we love them just incase I forgot to mention.
I’ll be looking for your review also tag me in your best Mielle products I love new tips and hairstyles.
Curly hair needs gentle cleansers that don’t strip away natural oils, but not all hair types like co-washing. If your hair is fine or greasy using a co-wash may actually weigh it down and make it look flat.
That’s when Curlsmith Core Strength Shampoo comes in! This cleanser will look and foam like a traditional shampoo, but it contains much gentler ingredients that will not dry curls out, so it is suitable for frequent washes and colour safe.
It is also enriched with proteins and fortifying actives that will help strengthen the hair and protect it from breakage. For all curl types, and even straight hair! Particularly beneficial for weak, damaged hair.
Suitable for any hair thickness. Particularly recommended to people with medium to high porosity hair, can be used by low porosity hair because of its low protein content.
I just finished using my first bottle of Core Strength Shampoo and ordered my second one a few days ago. I ordered my first 12 oz bottle in December 2021 and had to reorder last week, in the first week of March 2022.
I wash my hair 2-3 times a week, avoiding the ends of my hair and just washing the top/scalp. For me, a little goes a long way when you really rub it in with your fingers and re-wet your hair as necessary.
It lathers okay. Certainly not as much as a traditional shampoo but more than other curly hair shampoos I’ve used in the past. The trick is to really just scrub with your fingers and that helps distribute the product around on your scalp better.
I didn’t find the smell overpowering at all; to me, the smell is very nice. It is a lot thicker than other shampoos I’ve used and it’s therefore really hard to get out of the squeeze bottle, so I normally just twist the cap off and pour it out that way without bothering with the tiny hole on the cap.
Sometimes I ran out of the (non-Curlsmith) conditioner I follow up with and I would have to just use the shampoo and. those days weren’t great hair days. The shampoo is a little drying on its own and definitely doesn’t do much to help with tangles.
Prepare to follow up with conditioner always and possibly bring a detangling comb into the shower. Overall, I really like this shampoo. I think I’ve finally perfected my curly hair routine – my hair is soft, shiny, and healthy-looking.
Do I think it’s all thanks to this shampoo alone? Nah. But it helps and I plan on repurchasing once my second bottle is empty, too. :).
I knew nothing about hair porosity and good hair health. I’ve tried multiple drugstore shampoos and they always left my hair feeling dry. I use black box at home and have been for many years so that contributed to the hair dryness and damage.
I oil my hair twice a week but my hair was still dry when I washed it. Recently my hair has been falling out a lot when touching, it a lot would fall out. I came across curlsmith on ASOS and then went on to the curlsmith website and saw they did more products.
I’ve read reviews on how people don’t like the smell- (personally it smells nice. ) and people mentioned getting the shampoo out of the bottle was a struggle- I’ve never had any issues I absolutely love this shampoo so much that I got 2 bottles along with the multi tasking conditioner (it’s amazing!) Both products have saved my hair from falling out so much and being dry.
It is a bit on the pricey side, but I really recommend it. No other shampoo in my opinion compares to this. It lathers really well and just leaves my hair so soft and I’ve noticed my hair doesn’t fall out as much as it did before The shampoo leaves my hair feeling so clean and when I rinse it out, I apply the multi tasking conditioner to my ends.
When I fry my hair. It isn’t as frizzy as it used to be. I’ve got a good system going so I’m hoping I continue to love it. I wish this was sponsored but it’s not. I absolutely love this shampoo!.
So beginning with the smell, it’s very pleasant and fruity, Iand moderately strong. The packaging is. not so great as other reviewers say, so I just take the top off and put it back on when I’m done, no biggie really.
I have 3a-4a hair that’s moderate porosity, I always detangle my hair prior to shampoo and was in sections, it does tangle your hair back up, even if I focus on the scalp while hold the length of the hair, and pulling the shampoo down the strands, it still tangle lol.
As far as the product in my hair, it feels rich and slightly moisturizing; as far as leather, this product doesn’t lather in your hands, but it does moderately in soaked hair on the first wash (I wash every 2-3 weeks, so I expect to need two washes), on the second wash it lathers really nicely after getting rid of most of the product build up and my curls.
are. popping after rinsing! love it. My hair is left feeling clean, and moderately stripped of it’s moisture (definitely need a moisturizing conditioner/deep conditioner to follow up) and oddly soft.
I have sensitive skin but have had no reactions to this product and no increase in hair shedding.

I’m shocked at the number of negative reviews on this shampoo because my boyfriend and I have been really happy with the curly line. We’ve gone through a full size bottle and jumbo bottle of the shampoo and two full sizes of the conditioner.
We both have thick, heavy, long curly hair (no idea what hair types. I’ve never bothered to learn) and switched to this line from the Perfect Hair Day line. It works a lot better at softening and defining our curls.
And my hair doesn’t tangle as quickly as it used to between showers. Literally the only complaint my boyfriend and I have is that it doesn’t smell as nice as the PhD line (it smells fine, we just really like the PhD scent).
I have noticed that we seem to shed more hair in the shower than we used to, but honestly we both shed *a lot* and are used to it. Never occurred to me that might be related to the switch. I do tend to use a lot of shampoo at a time since it doesn’t lather, but I feel like it leaves my scalp and hair moisturized, not dried out.
I’m sorry to hear not everyone has had the same experience I have. But I love this product, so will keep using.
I want to start by saying that I love some of the other Living Proof products I’ve come to learn that the products are very hit or miss. Unfortunately this one was a miss. I received a bottle as a gift from my mom and since I love their curling cream, I thought I would love this too.
When washing, I didn’t feel like it really cleaned my hair at all. It wasn’t sudsy and didn’t foam at all when scrubbing my scalp which made me feel like I had to use so many handfuls of it. I went through the product so fast because I felt like it wasn’t working.
It also left my hair feeling really dry, almost like a stringy, straw like texture. I also didn’t notice that my hair was any more curly after using this product, if anything, it made my hair more frizzy.
I’ve tried plenty of other shampoos that I like much better like the Davines or purology. I would recommend trying something else instead.
For years I worked laboriously to smooth, straighten, transform my natural curly hair. I finally gave in, as my hair grew more & more silver and a different texture! So I embraced my curly hair and started the process of finding quality products.
I found them , but they all smelled exactly the same! Then I saw an ad for Living Proof Curl Products. Absolutely no coconut, beach smell!. just fresh flowers, gentle breezes, with a hint of a subtle spice that smells like sunshine!! They are a bit pricey, but it’s by far, hands down, the cleanest, fresh smelling curl product out there! I confess I use it when I need an extra “oomph “ to my ego.
This shampoo gets so many compliments. It’s that “special date” shampoo!.

I was a little worried about trying this out, as I have been looking for the right hair-care combination for a while now and didn’t want another failure, but I have been a happy customer. I have fairly thick wavy hair/loose curls.
For most of my life, I have used average non-curly hair products. In the past few years though, my hair has gotten curlier, and I have become more and more frustrated with how poofy and undefined it can get, particularly in the summertime.
Almost a year ago, I began using SheaMoisture curl-enhancing smoothie. It brings out my waves/curls beautifully on wash night/the following day, but after day one, they are often frizzy & flattened. I can’t, and wouldn’t, say this would be the same for people with tighter curls/coils, it has just been my experience.
Upon finishing out the bottle of my last conditioner, I decided it was time to find one specific for curly hair. While I have only used it a few times, this Curl & Shine Conditioner has been wonderful so far.
A few weeks ago, I tried implementing other new curly hair products into my routine, and while they have been okay, nothing has compared to this conditioner. My hair feels smoother, bouncier, and the curls last nicely at least two days now.
Even when they flatten more into waves, my hair doesn’t really poof up as it used to. I recommend pairing it with the curl-enhancing smoothie, as that is what I have been doing. Especially for the price, I really recommend this product.
I absolutely love this product. I actually started using this after applying it on my granddaughter one evening after her bath. She has very sensitive skin so I was skeptical at first. However she had no adverse reactions to this and I loved how easily it was to apply and absorbed in to her skin without feeling greasy and the fresh scent is awesome not heavy just clean.
So I decided to give it a try myself, it is so rich and creamy glides on my skin which is dry especially in the winter months. My skin felt great and fully moisturized and hydrated. I am not accustomed to that.
I leave my skin a little damp and apply it immediately after getting out of the shower. I would highly reccomend this product to anyone with dry skin. It smells so fresh and clean and I have not had any issues with breaking out or rashes or any burning etc.
of any kind and I use it immediately after shaving my legs. Safe enough for infants and up.

I used this shampoo thrice in the past 3 days. It’s amazing! Confession. I have wavy hair and I can’t keep from washing my hair everyday. I’m this weather, shampooing everyday with a sulphate free shampoo left my hair frizzy and dry.
I tried a number of things, such as oiling my hair every night before shampooing and conditioning with other love beauty & planet products which I really liked as well. Tip: if you do not want to moisturize your hair but still want to shampoo 2-3x a week, get the blooming color rose and murumu butter shampoo & conditioner.
That’s is hair gospel for me. However, I like the rice bran oil and Angelica essence shampoo much more because I wash my hair everyday. This is perfect for me. It cleanses my scalp and hair but doesn’t strip.
I was on the hunt for good leave ins and other styling products as I used to wash everyday and it left my hair frizzy, staticky and with little to no curl definition and just lots of puffiness. The fragrance in this line can be a bit strong at first but I really like the products.
I see myself keeping the bottle of shampoo and conditioner and using it everyday. I do not mind the stronger fragrance as I barely tend to notice it after a while as I get used to it and barely smell it anymore.
I intend to clarify my hair with a stronger shampoo just to be on the safer side every week or other week just to avoid potentially harmful effects of not cleansing properly. (Kindly note that this shampoo doesn’t sud at all).
If you’ve used any other shampoos in love beauty planet, you’ll see that sulphate free shampoos tend to sud much lesser. There is no rich lather which gives a clean feeling as suds somehow convince us that the shampoo is cleaning better, despite stripping hair.
Currently this shampoo and conditioner is great for me in between washes because I’m trying to kick the habit of washing my hair everyday. I will continue to use it until I can shampoo every other day and I intend to purchase the leave-in cream /styler too.
This review was not sponsored. I bought these products with my own money & was never offered an incentive to review.
First, let me begin by saying this review covers all 4 products: Pre-cleanse, shampoo, conditioner and the conditioning & styling treatment. The fragrance is quite strong, in a good way. It has beautiful floral notes that stick around long after my hair dries(big plus for me!).
I’ve never used a 4 step process like this, so it was all new to me. The pre-cleanse seemed like a pre-conditioner of sorts. Similar in texture to a conditioner, just not as thick. The shampoo is where I started to think, “what is this!? It’s never going to get my hair clean!” But boy, was I wrong! The shampoo milk is the consistency of a very runny conditioner.
It doesn’t lather or bubble up at all, and I had to use quite a bit to get through to all of my scalp through my thick hair. I made sure to really get my fingers in and rub quite a bit all over my scalp.
I was convinced I was going to come out of the shower with hair that looked more dirty than when I went in, but I continued on. I applied the conditioner as I normally would, let it sit a few min and rinsed with cold water.
I finished up by applying the styling treatment to my dampened hair before allowing to air dry. I was completely shocked when my hair not only get silky smooth and full of volume, but my scalp also was incredibly clean and felt nicely moisturized.
If you try this product, don’t let the shampoo scare you! Really work it in and see how you like it!.
Let me start by saying that initially the scent is a very strong floral scent that is very off putting. As I was applying the product, I was overwhelmed by the scent, and it was not a good kind of overwhelmed.
However, when my hair dried, the scent changed to a more subtle, but still present, clean kind of scent. The scent has stayed with me days after application, and when I get a whiff of it throughout the day, I smile, because it smells so good.
So with that, I’m conflicted. I wasn’t wowed by this shampoo, but I wasn’t disappointed either. It’s definitely a shampoo that you can just pick up when you run out of your fave, or they don’t have your fave at the store.
It doesn’t lather, which would have concerned me a few years ago, but now I know better, and know that it does not need to lather to cleanse. I was actually happy that it didn’t lather considering that when I used the pre-cleanse from the same line right before, it was very stripping already.
I like that they have excluded a lot of bad ingredients, and hope that other shampoo brands can follow along.
At times your coils or curls just won’t act right and it’s difficult to make them shine and behave. These are the tell signs that it’s time to remove the old, dulling residue and make a fresh clean start, but without dehydrating your hair.
I don’t know how to tell how amazing this shampoo is. Needed a good shampoo for my curly hair and came across this brand. Got this and the leave in conditioner too. Both were on a offer. used few months before I decided to write a review about this product.
This shampoo removes all the build ups in my hair. sometimes it can make your hair dry. but I normally use a hair mask before shampoo. So doesn’t make my hair dry or frizzy after shampooing. Makes my curls so much defined and bouncy.
My old clarifying shampoo ran out and I wasn’t sure I wanted to buy it again. This was suggested to me and I can see why! This shampoo provided my hair with a gentle cleansing and did not leave my hair feeling waxy afterwards.
The scent is really mild as well. I’m pretty sure I will be buying this again once the bottle is empty.
There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing the right shampoo and conditioner for low porosity hair. The first is to make sure that the products are silicone-free, as silicone can build up on the hair and make it appear greasy.
Second, look for products that are designed to add moisture to the hair, as low porosity hair can be prone to dryness. Finally, avoid products that contain alcohol, as this can strip the hair of its natural oils.
When it comes to shampoo, we recommend the following options for low porosity hair:
