20 Best Roller Skating Protective Gear For Adults (2023 Updated)

When I first put on these knee pads I was worried they were too bulky for recreational roller skating (I was coming from very small and ill-fitting pads). However once I put them on with my skates I was surprised by how comfortable they are and that I can move freely in them.

They are well padded and give me great security, I know they’ve got my back (knees). Love ‘em!.

Almost conpletely useless. The sizes don’t match, I don’t think it exists a kid with knees that big and elbows so tiny. Said that, I’m glad I bought one set (I have 2 boys aged 6 and 8, both skateboarders), because no one can use it.

One of my boys is not fussy at all with any of these sort of equiment, so he put them on: knee pads kept falling off, elbow pads left 2 massive red marks. It’s the design that is wrong as both are not adjustable – and compared to other brands the quality is visibly inferior.

Terrible purchase.

Bought the guards to feel safer whilst inline skating as fractured my elbow earlier in the year (in the house, not on blades) & am now a bit paranoid about falling while skating. These knee & elbow make me feel much safer & the first time I fell with them on it was like falling on cushions & so I have more confidence skating now.

The guards appear well made & sturdy with full protection of the joints as well as above & below areas.

I order the above item but when I received it the black plastic part of the pads is actually white. Which isn’t a major deal to some, however I specifically ordered this brand of protective gear as they were black and purple and would match with the skates that we have purchased our daughter for Christmas.

I also purchased the black ones instead of the white as they would show up scratches less. A little bit disappointed that what was displayed isn’t the product that was sent.

These pads are great for the buck. I bought them as i wanted to get back into skating Mini Ramp and Bowl. I am 40 now and did get into skating again after 15 years away from the board. I am skating mostly street.

I was never much into ramps so i feel i should protect myself. After all, a slam is 5 times as rough when you are getting older. I compared all in the lower price region and have to say that these where the only ones that came close to the top line of protectors for more than double the price.

Specially the combo pack is really cheap. Of course there are always some protectors out there for 30-50 Euros coming with wrist guards already, but they are all not comparable quality wise. I checked them all and was not satisfied / not even close.

Don\’t save on your safety. They will cap high impact. You can slide out of bails easily and the caps will hold you a couple years fun. I wanted to go for the pro ones at first but it was simply a budget decision.

Together with helmet and all i wanted to be protected well but wanted to keep my bankroll in eye. They are comfortable to wear. They are slip in and no butterfly but i can get into them even when leaving my shoe on.

I wear them most of the times above my pants. Great fit. Who should buy them : Skater who want high protection, but have to / want to check their bank roll. You have one life, one health only. Pros – Great Protection, good padding – Comfortable – Cheap for pro quality Cons – Non exchangeable Knee Caps – Slip in – no butterfly Summary : I am happy for now, if i see that i will skate a lot more Minis and bowl i will consider to buy the pro pads in a year, but for now they are great.

I will not start to slide out all my bails but run out or roll out still. stay on the save side :).

Have been using many different brands in the past but this one is just top of the top. Good quality, great protection and affordable price. If you plan to ride bowls and ramps and have spare money go for the pro model with more padding.

Too tight for me. I’m 5’3 normally a size medium in most things. But looks like i would needed a large. The build quality is not as good as the TSG.

I got these for my pro derby career, im a large lady a d these are perfect, cant feel a thing when falling on my knees

Good flexible wrist supports action. Had to apply a little material to the plastic guard as when falling the lack friction cancels the wrist support by sliding your arm from underneath you when falling causing you to plank the ground.

(I caught it on camera) However wrist remained unscathed or injured.

These must have been a revised version to what I own previously. The backside or top of the wrist did not have the pad/guard like my old ones. Still a good product. More pics of the product would be helpful.

Great smaller wrist protectors. Looks good and does what supposed to.

The pads themselves are excellent quality, I have nothing at all negative to say about those. I just wish I could have mixed and matched the sizes a bit. I had to buy the large set for my legs and elbows, but that left me with wrist guards that were just way too big.

Really, in the greater scheme of things, I’m not worried. Got other wrist guards and I continue to use the knee and elbow pads. Love the funky colours of them, so much nicer than just black, and they fit really well and are comfortable.

Great quality and very reasonably priced. Look amazing and fit my fat legs. Also delivery to New Zealand was very quick

Love them! Stunning to look at and fitting as per sizing chart. Haven’t fallen over (yet) so haven’t tested them to their full potential (yet). Surely won’t be long.

The item looks good and have great quality. Size L mentioned knee circumstances 38_43 cm, mine is 39 and pads are extremely tight on me, hurt a bone below the knee, almost stop blood circulation just from trying them on for a few minutes.

For the record, circumstances 10 cm above my knee is 43 cm, I am 174 cm and around 62 kg. Probably need to go for a size up, although on my pretty skinny legs L looks huge and bulky. Unfortunately needed to return.

These pads stay on as long as you need them, with hardly any adjustments to the straps needed. I am not a competitive skater or derby racer, but I use them for work as a high end appliance repair technician.

I would have given them a 5 star rating, but I have had them only 2 years and, am not on my knees all day, and the padding is completely compressed. I searched for other brands, and after reading their reviews, I am going to get more 187 killer pads.

I think the killer pads look better than other pads, because I wear Doc Martin steel toed boots, black cargo dickie shorts, and a black polo shirt as a uniform. I have gotten quite a few compliments, and inquiries from customers, saying I look very professional, when I wear them while working in their home.

Appearance is important when going into multi-million dollar homes.

These are the best knee pads if you’re planning (or not) to take some slams. I’ve been skateboarding more in bowls and fall on my knees every time. A slam on the knees usually ends my session, but with the killer pads I’m not afraid to take tumbles and spring right back up.

They are the best knee pads on the market in terms of taking a blow. I am a smallish-sized girl and opted to order size L over M. I’m really glad I did that. I have to take my shoes off to put the pads on and usually wear them over pants.

Look at the killer pads site to determine your size but definitely consider sizing up, you don’t want to be wearing tight knee pads.

I like them! They seem good quality and sturdy. It doesn’t state any size or anything online but when I got it the package said large. So I’m assuming it’s a kids large because this wouldn’t fit a grown man.

I’m a 5’10 woman and it fit me pretty well.

Wrist pads good/knee pads and elbow pads not quite as good a fit as my eight brand knee pads and my Salomon elbow pads. I bought the set as back-up and to see if they felt good since my current pads are old and were just the roller blade brand wrist pads.

now all 3 are rollerblade brand. but currently on hand as back up pairs. I think I’ll keep them even though only the wrist pads are my current favorite since I can no longer get the Roces wrist pads.

Great protective bundle, works very well and is very comfortable to wear. True to size, bought these for my 11 & 12 year old kids and they’re excellent. Very impressed and the shipping was very quick also.

The pads were bought as a present so I have no actual experience of them. They looked good quality to me so I have giiven them the benefit of the doubt in the star rating. My grandson was very pleased with them.

They advertise 3 colours but only have black. I spent time trying to order the blue and pink which the site did not allow so I emailed My Deal to ask how to order the other colours no response from them.

It was only when I sent an email to the actual supplier that I discovered there weren’t any other colours. This has happened to me with My Deal before. Do not advertise colours you do not have!.

I bought 2 sets of this protective gear, one for each of my daughters (13 and 10) for roller skating. The gear fit them very well and seemed to work pretty well too, as they both fell at different times.

I think the inclusion of the wrist guards is a great feature since I’ve seen sets that didn’t include wrist guards, which is an overlooked item in my mind. That would also be an additional purchase one would have to make.

The quality seems to be pretty good with this gear. It seemed easy for the girls to put on and was adjustable as well so that helps.

Wrist guards are well made with plastic splint on both sides of hand. The wrist guards fit me perfectly but I am a 39 yo woman and 160 lbs. Knee & elbow pads fit me, too. This 8 set was enormous on my 7 year old son.

How much larger is the 14 set?! The 8 set should be smaller & have more velcro on the straps to increase adjustability. The Wipeout 5 set sold here at Target fit my son perfectly & also have excellent wrist guards with double splint.

I got the 14 size and they’ve worked great for the price. I expected them to be to be snug since they’re made for kids but they fit comfortably. They’re low quality compared to the real 888 brand but for the price no major complaints.

I took a couple of falls and theyve held up alright. I think the first thing to go will actually be the Velcro. Its not sewn in very well and can be a pain to get a grip on the tabs to adjust it or remove.

I was hesitant on buying because the size chart seems confusing. Indeed, the sizing chart is not very accurate. Width of knee (D) measures 14cm front and 14cm back for size S. Total 28cm but stretchable.

Thankfully it still fits me.

Not the greatest quality. One fall and already put dints in the wrist pads. Also the sizing is so strange. The Knee pads in the large are ridiculously big and the medium are way too small, have zero stretch.

Terrible sizing. Wouldn’t purchase again.

The impala Junior protective gear is great quality but the medium knee pads and wrist guards were too small for my reasonably slender 9 year old daughter. Unfortunately the adult size small were too large.

It would be great if there was a large size in the Junior range.

I’m a size 0-2 woman (xs), so I figured a unisex adult small would work for me. The pads were way too small. I’m not sure what adult these would realistically fit. I will be returning them. They were also way less substantial than I was expecting.

My satisfaction with these pads is off the charts. I had bought cheaper sets online previously and been sorely disappointed. This set has quality, quality, quality. Should last a long time. It is a good value.

You get what you pay for.

I used these pads for almost a year before my car was broken into and my gear bag removed. I couldn’t remember where I got them and have been looking for them for a couple months. I’ve been through three sets of wrist guards (2 broke, 1 I just hate) in 3 months and am happy to find these again.

Just purchased these online and picked up curbside at my local store. I am just learning how to skate and didn’t feel comfortable without adequate protective gear. After researching and searching for a pad set, I came across these and was overjoyed to see it available for curbside pick-up at my local store.

They are very reasonably priced and in my view, excellent quality. I tested them out as soon as I got home and they are comfortable and sturdy. They come in a handy mesh case with separate compartments for the wrist guards, elbow and knee pads.

I was also surprised to find I didn’t need to put the knee pads through my feet as they come with two velcro straps. I was a little wary about the wrist guards, but when I had them on, they were sturdy and secure, having three velcro straps to keep them on tight.

Though I have only used these once, they seem well made and hope they last a long time! For the price, I would definitely recommend this pad set!.

Really pleased with this set – I mainly bought it for the knee pads, as my old ones are uncomfortable and worn out. These cup around my knees a lot better, so I don’t feel pressure on my kneecaps when I bend my legs.

I also like that they have a bit more coverage above and below the knee. I’m a UK size 8 with skinny legs, and size S seems a good fit for all 3 pads (wrist, elbow and knee).

These are fantastic! I got reacquainted with inline skating and have used these for a few months now. They have been put through the test as I have covered a lot of ground now. They are durable, easy to wash (just put them in a mesh bag and into the machine and air dry!), don’t limit my range of motion, and just give me a peace of mind.

I work in the hospital and speaking to another ER physician he said, no matter how proficient you are skating, he’s seen even the most advanced skaters have accidents that can take time to heal; something that only further convinced me I made the right choice!.

They are good, but don’t seem to stay up

Great pair of knee guards. New to skating but fortunately haven’t fallen on them yet so haven’t tested the durability. They’re very comfortable on my larger thighs. I wear an XL, and have so far always worn denim jeans underneath.

I haven’t experienced any friction/pain from wearing them, even for a couple of hours. I think they look smart and not overly bulky.

These are great. I use them for broomball (ice sport where you run on ice so very regularly falling over) and they’re so much better than the cheapo knee/elbow pads I’d been using previously. Actually protect knees and elbows from impacts so I’m not getting bruises and the dual sets of straps make them comfier and will make them last longer as they aren’t getting stretched everytime you put them on or take them off.

But , 1 year ago when i was purchase this protective kit having rate 1499/- And today’s its rate become 1999/- I was still waiting from 2 months that , may be decathlon down the rate of Adult fit500 protective kit but.

I think may be in Indian Great Festival Diwali the rate become down but. By the rate doesn’t matter. And also I am serching for oxelo inline skate which having 90mm with 4 wheels with hard boot But you don’t have.

You have 3 wheel mf900 but i am uncomfortable with this which having 110mm wheels. You have 4 wheels mf500 but wheels are 80mm which is small, it make problems while Urban skate or Street Road skate.

So if you want to lauch new product inline skate with big 4 wheels and with hardboot then it will greatful for us. Thank you very much Decathlon. 😊😊😊😊.

The knee and elbow pads work perfectly. However the hand guards do not provide adequate protection. The plastic strip that is designed to cover the lower part of the hand near the wrist (Thenar and Hypothenar area) DOES NOT provide adequate protection.

I have had a few falls while learning skating and the thenar and hypothenar regions of the hand end up painful. Although I must note that it protects against scratches but it does not provide protection against impact or absorbs any shock.

I would recommend using a wider plastic base plate to widen the protection area.

This item does not stand wel to sweat and constant use. Nice to look at and worked as advertised during the initial period, but if you are using it frequently, these are only for the knees and elbows.

The longer the wear, the discomfort becomes more noticeable. And get a helmet if you are starting out. I would recommend this product for safety reasons.

I bought XL and they are still quite small. I\’m 190m and 85kg. Wrist guards close but they are too small so kind off settle off center making it feel uncomfortable. I thought they would have been bigger.

Knee and elbow pads are a decent fit albeit if I were heavier then they would be too tight. I don\’t have huge hands either.

I order my product more than 10 days ago. And it’s still in the airport. It’s on its way Most recent update Flight departed Date & time Thu 2 Dec, 7. 21pm 1 I can’t understand why I receive another purchase that I did the same day with another company from Australia and not this one.
