20 Best Of 90S Alternative Rock Volume 1 (2022 Updated)

The Band is always going to live in the shadow of Bob Dylan to most people, but they don’t take a back seat to anyone with this work. It’s the stuff that made FM what it is today and is The Band at its prime.

Their live music has always been much better than their studio offerings and this writer’s main regret is that he never got to see them in their glory. This is a must-have for the collection and surpasses “The Last Waltz” without a doubt.

Excellent Album when I was growing up, Great Music, Snooky Young, Joe Farrell, JP Parron, Earl McIntyre, Garth Hudson, Howard Johnson all made this a special album and all who hear and heard it will never forget the style, quality and THE HORNS, on this album / CD.

Best live album of all time

Great quality and very secure packaging. This has to be the best rock album ever produced. Three discs of solid rock music. Sound quality is fantastic A muct have for any rock fan. Also a great album for driving in the car on a long journey.

Excellent CD, great songs of the 70’s, well positioned selections that play very well together. When I listen to all the songs, it brings back a lot of great memories.

Great songs from the past. Made me have dreams of yesteryear. Now, we just need to learn to get along together, and love one another..

Because i only had Boston Greatest Hits on tape (nearly worn out) and it’s good to have a lot better quality CD of the same music as i don’t have a tape player anymore. Plus on the CD i got from you there is a few songs i never had and they are all great.

After seeing the 3 existing glowing reviews about the sound quality of this release, I wonder if there has been a new release. After checking discogs it seems not. The pressing I purchased from JB HiFi around 2 years ago is amongst the most disappointing I’ve ever had the displeasure of hearing.

I wonder if the reviewers that have already posted are genuine, and what their experience with audio is like. I’m not trying to disparage any of them, but it could be a case of choice-supportive bias.

Make your own minds up, but for the cost I’m sorry I din’t return this.

The movie Bohemian Rhapsody definitely started me on collecting Queen music on vinyl. Great sounding vinyl especially when connecting player to a surround sound bar system. The early Queen reissued remastered vinyls are Queen at their best!.

The greatest hits cd is one of my favorites. Love all the songs. Great sound, Great Price and Great Experience. Would buy again. Recommend to Everyone. Quality is exceptional.

Would have to say this was by far one of the best Albums that I have ever heard. It is the first of the three Greatest Hits Albums for Queen and I totally loved it. I watched the Bohemian Rhapsody movie and grew to be a fan of Queen.

I now have this album + Greatest Hits II + Bohemian Rhapsody the Soundtrack + DVD Concert. Over all would with out doubt recommend this Album to Queen lovers.

The CD itself is great, cover picture great. Bohemian Rhapsody & We will rock you are way shorter versions… personally think this is NOT an album of greatest hits!

I only just discovered 10,000 Maniacs through a friend, and I’m enchanted with Natalie Merchant’s voice and writing. I prefer her solo work, but this was thoroughly enjoyable.

I had this way back, maybe even in cassette form, can’t remember. Anyway it had been missing for years and I wanted to hear it. Now I enjoy listening to this in the car once again. I highly recommend this seller.

I bought this with not too much expectation other than a decent compilation of Iron Maiden from 1990-2010. When it arrived and I opened it, I was completely blown away. Absolutely beautiful artwork in and outside of this trifold.

Then, when I pulled the records out I was even more blown away by the beautiful artwork on the front and back of all three LPs. Looking at each record closely I can see that they have good quality control because they were flawless.

Finally, when begun to spin these babies man did they sound so beautiful. I am beyond happy for this purchase it is beyond worth what I paid for it. Hope somebody else gets to enjoy this. I may have to order another because my 11 year old is amazed with this and loves the music too.

This 3-record set looks GREAT, feels GREAT and sounds FANTASTIC. I had the cd. THIS is BETTER. ! Six-face gatefold cover and nice heavy (picture) vinyl. A fine piece of art in every respect. If you dig Iron Maiden, you should buy this while you still can.

There are 100 songs on this set of 5 CD’s. I purchased because was sick of listening to same old stuff and a lot on these was from when I was growing up or older. So not a fan of a few songs but also cool to hear some I haven’t heard of in a gazillion years.

The CD was new and just as described. came in time too.

This has an outstanding number of excellent tunes on it brought you by Rhino records you can’t go wrong when you go through Rhino records! For example you get black Night by Deep Purple Bad Company by Bad Company Urgent by Foreigner we’re not going to take it by Twisted Sister and Long Cool Woman by The Hollies not to mention New girl now by Honeymoon Suite which you don’t usually find on a compilation CD!.

Great variety of Classic Rock, Metal, Pop, and more. Cant beat 5 cds for under 10 bucks. From 70s to 2010s.

The ‘Jones’ bloke can still cut it live & this CD proves it. Unfortunately keyboards have replaced orchestras & to see a 5pc backing band on stage instead of 20+musicians somehow doesn’t feel or indeed sound the same.

Everything is down to economics these days but Tom deserves the real deal. Not a huge criticism, just an observation & an opinion.

Decently good sound quality. To my ears, sounds slightly compressed so do not do justice to his incredible voice. Jones was at his best during the 60s and 70s where his powerful vocal suits the big band/orchestra accompanying him.

If you want to know his vocal prowess, get his original vinyl of the 60/70s on Decca label. Nevertheless, this CD represent great value for 29 songs. You can’t ask for more.

I like Tome Jones so I definitely like this CD. There are all the hits on it. However, often I buy greatest hits CD and then I wish I buy individual albums. In general I find individual albums make more sense, because on Cd like this there is too big mixture of different genres of music.

But at the end I believe Cd deserves 5 stars.

i am not a big P.J. fan. i had purchased it for a certain song. i was not on this cd. the info that came with the cd looked like it had been in a flood.

After the success and the pure quality of 10. like a lot of Pearl Jam fans, I was curious to see what they would come up with next, and with VS they did not dissapointed! This album released in 1993, contains 12 superb tracks that rock and once again serve to highlight both the musical talent of the band and vocal ability of Eddie Vedder! It is a powerful, raging rock album that opens with the fast paced ‘Go’.

this song is frantic, with a heavy guitar element over which Vedder roars the vocals to great effect! Animal, which never seems to stop playing on our local rock station, follows with deep, heartfelt lyrics in the true style of Pearl Jam who are not afraid to confront sometimes controversial and indeed profound subjects within their music! They then slow it down a tad, with the wonderful ‘Daughter’ which employs a more acoustic sound, as Vedder sings his way through this tough song which deals with abuse – a thread that follows Pearl Jam throughout their work! Glorified has an almost funk element to it but my favorite track on this album has to be “Rearviewmirror”.

this simply rocks from the onset with catchy guitar rifts and a building fury which almost gets to frenzied level!! This is a superb coming together of music and vocals to produce a track that you simply cannot ignore! It is interesting how Pearl Jam can get you so into the music to the point where you love a track so much yet it may be dealing with a difficult subject that you would typically chose to ignore or look away.

this being no exception! Only Pearl Jam could follow this track with something so different in Rats where Vedder almost spits his way through in a drastic 180 from its predecessor! This album has a plethora of different styles, all of which employ the trademark rock / grunge edge, but each as different as the next with profound lyrics that prod one to stop and think, combined with killer rifts that draw you into ech adn every track!! A true 5.

what an excellent album!!.

In my opinion this lp is Pearl Jams best. Usually 2nd efforts are a letdown but this one rocks it like a magic kiss! Has a little more grit and edginess than Ten.

I loved this CD the first time that I heard it. I immediately went out at the time and bought the tape. Lately, I’ve been trying to get some of my favorite music on CD and have started looking on Ebay for these titles.

Motley Crue is one of my favorite bands. I have the tape and love it so I started looking for the CD. The CD is in great condition and plays great. This is a great way to add to my CD collection, by finding them on ebay.

this is the best po. cd ever, the best mix of music that they have ever released. I graduated in 1978 and I hope everybody injoys this cd as much as I do. normaly all I listen to is country music , but I find myself reaching for this one more and more.

What a follow-up! This one shows them playing and writing with more maturity and has a good balance between heavy and soft throughout. “Vasoline” was a tremendous hit for them. It is very edgy and reminds me somewhat of skate-punk.

Don’t ask me why. “Interstate Love Song” shows some of the aforementioned maturity and is my all-time favorite STP song. Everything about it is great. That’s about as much as I can elaborate. Just listen to it yourself so you can get your own impression.

“Army Ants” is another edgy song and the opening reminds me of something that Joe Satriani would do. Again, don’t ask me why. Last but not least, there is a hilarious bonus track which is on a few minutes after the last song.

It reminds me of Monty Python. I think they mixed up the titles on this album. The BONUS track should have been called “Lounge Fly. ” Anyway, if you’re into alterative and don’t have this one yet, get it.

the product is awesome but i got ther case damaged

This is STP’s best album but that doesn’t mean it’s great. I remember buying it when it first came out and being blown away. I had it for a couple years until my whole CD collection was stolen and then I forgot about it.

I recently found it again and decided to give it another listen. It didn’t hold up to my expectations. All too often it reminds me of the MTV garbage modern rock that I can’t get away from. Sure, it’s a bit more rough and grungy but it still has that I wanna buy a big SUV and run you off the road kind of feel to it.

There’s not much to say other than this band is amazing! It’s classic sound is perfect for any rock fan looking for new stuff. Music and lyric quality are fantastic. If you’re thinking if you might like them or not, trust me, you will! I may be 19 but I’ve always loved classic rock and older music as well as newer sounds.

This is the perfect mix of past and present for me. The sounds are magical and come together perfectly. Definitely recommend Greta Van Fleet to everyone. Give their From the Fires LP a listen as well.

Cannot stop playing these tunes – they stick in your head! This is jump around the house & yell along in the car rock at its most fun. Lyrics and complexity of songs have advanced since previous album (which I am also addicted to).

I agree with other reviewers, the more times I listen to the songs, the more great details I hear. These are a very talented group of musicians.

It is so refreshing to have a new band come out with a classic rock feel. Do they sound like Zeppelin hell yes! But as Robert Plant(lead singer of zepplinin case ya didnt know) put it, these guys rock and they have my stamp of approval not that they needed of course he said.

So do yourself a favor and check these 20 something year old guys out. They are bringing back something to music that has been sorely missed by so many people.

I wasn’t very familiar with the recordings of Roxette except for a couple hits so I wanted to hear more. There was some songs I had never heard before but really like. I was very pleased to hear the work pon the album and pleased to add it to my library.

Tom Pettys solo project is better than with the Heartbreakers! Petty has so many ideas that it takes a double album set to present! This plays like a greatest hits album but thats a testament to how strong this album is! No duds here! The CD is the value here considering how staggeringly expensive this is to get in vinyl in good quality!.

Wildflowers is a beautiful album by Tom Petty. Its a record I have never tired of. This record has Petty showing a more intimate side at times. Rockers like You Wreck Me give fans a taste of what Petty does best, but he also takes you in by acoustic guitar, and keeps you there until the very end on songs like Wildflowers.

This is one of my favorite albums. It is a very nostalgic album for me. I grew up listening to this as my dad was a Tom Petty fan. When I listen to this, it brings me back to my childhood. I recently got a vinyl record player and the first thing I did was hunted down a used copy of this record.

It’s not being made in vinyl anymore. It came and it was in mint condition. I know this record will always hold a very special place in my heart.

It is like listening to a classic rock radio station without the commercials. 60 songs by 60 artists, all from the top 40 way back when. Eight dollars and change for over three hours of pleasant memories.
