Set up was fairly easy it had trouble recognizing the barcode but other than that I just wish the cord was longer the cord is too short I wish it had sound it does not have sound picture quality is awesome no issue with that though sometimes if an animal walks in front of it it’s supposed to give you a notification of an animal it will tell you it’s a car so it doesn’t always give you the correct identification.

people that picks up, fine cars that picks up fine animals it tells you it’s a car. in all no matter major issues. It says it’s supposed to go with Google home mini but when I clicked to view it won’t let you view says it cannot be viewed.

So I unpaired it with my Google home mini. Another thing I noticed you couldn’t pick what items that it will pick up like animals people cars and other motions it will sometimes change that and it will pick all motions even though I don’t want all motions I have a flag and so every time the flag moves I get a a notification so I have to go back in there and check off all motions but it keeps referring back to that that can be annoying for other than that not too bad if you don’t have a lot of money to spend these work well it works off your Wi-Fi but you have to plug it in but like I said it does need to have a bit of a longer cord it’s too short I have to buy two extension cords.

Bought this based on price and reviews. Didn’t realize till now that a majority of the reviews are from people who got a free camera to review. It set up easy for me. It has a decent picture quality but the night vision is not good.

Problem I have with camera is that it is not a security camera, good for monitoring something maybe but not if you want alerts and need a flawless playback. Heres the deal, it will only push an alert every 20 minutes if it picks up motion of 10 seconds.

Ten seconds is a long time. If you have this covering an entrance way or stairs forget it, unless someone dances in front of camera you will never know unless you review the footage. And thats a huge problem too, it only records 1 fps if it does not alert to 10 seconds of motion.

That is useless. You might get a glimpse of whatever you want to check out. Heres an example, I had someone drive a pickup truck right through my cameras view, park, get out and walk to back of house.

I was never sent an alert because it took less then 10 seconds to do that. Now when I reviewed, I saw this but could not get a good playback because it only recorded 1 fps. I could not even get a good clip of that time frame because it was only 1 fps and was like a slow motion view, one second I see a truck drive up, then it skips to a truck parked with open door, then a man walking, then nothing till I see truck moving again, and ten minutes had elapsed on timestamp.

In the 10 or so minutes they were on the property I never received an alert and was unable to get good usable footage of them because of the 1 fps. Now if it alerts to motion it will record at 25 fps but thats only if it alerts.

I have a second one set up in a stairway and it never alerts to anyone walking up or down which is the entrance to the house because it does not take 10 seconds to walk up the stairs. So someone could walk up to the door, do whatever, and I would not know if I did not review the tape.

Who wants to review every day? And what use would it be, it does not record realtime motion unless it notices 10 seconds of motion. I can not recommend these if you want them to protect your property and have a recording that can be useful.

If they changed the alert times etc and record playback then this would be an awesome deal, not only would I recommend but I would buy more. Till then you get less then you pay for because it will not work in most real life situations and you will be disappointed.

I really like this set of cameras. To get all features I pay 20 month for 4 cameras, it gives you intelligent alerts, 7 days of cloud recordings, flashback, video clips and is bank level security. I just have 1 problem and is the reason why I gave it 4 stars, one of my cameras stops recording about 3-4 tines a day and I constantly have to unplug and plug back in.

It’s driving me crazy but, is only 1 camera that’s doing it. Night vision is great, I highly recommend this cameras. You can take pictures or record while live, you can also download videos,pictures or saved them on camera gallery.

The settings and app are very simple but, not bad.

Originally got Blink cameras and returned those in 3 days. They were pure junk (terrible picture, worse night vision, terrible sound quality and it had this awful digital squealing over the recordings quite often.

Also, only sporadic motion detection). Did a bit more research and chose this Eufy set and the 2k set. The closed system with no subscription was the original appeal but the quality of the cameras themselves is fantastic! There’s obviously a few choices out there and I’ve edited a few of them but these by far are my favorites for picture, sound, and motion detection.

There are a few caveats to them but they are minor in comparison. I’ll update on the features as the need arises. Durable and water tight. Cons: Instalation is finicky with several moving unattached parts that can be an issue. Especially if dropped and lost. ***my biggest con*** up to 3 Activity zones but they are only rectangles and cannot be uniquely shaped.

This is a problem for those of us that do not have perfect rectangles or squares for property or are trying to avoid / capture certain angles. No continued shapshot capture. This may not be an issue for everyone but it’s one preferred feature I have of the Ring.

The continuous capturing of a snapshot every 15 minutes or so is not an option on the eufy cameras. That feature has assisted us in capturing and timing of events in the past by capturing things that didn’t trigger motion detection or more often are outside of our activity zones but still incredibly helpful.

Overall: Absolutely would recommended.

I haven’t yet had to use tech support because everything has worked as it should: appreciate the ability to change settings to adjust for humans only so every bird flying by doesn’t set it off. Set up wasn’t too challenging, although you do need a specific drill bit size that’s fairly unusual (instructions say 15/64″ but I rounded up a 64th of an inch and just used a 1/4″).

I think I’ve had these up for a month now and they’ve gone through several rounds of rain with no problem and still showing all bars on the batteries. I have the video doorbell, an indoor cam, and this set with the HomeBase and 2 outdoor cams.

Happy with the prices on all of my equipment and with operation thus far. Only complaint is that HomeBase should have a microSD slot for expandable memory, the 16 GB is pretty low to run multiple cameras.

If you’re concerned about privacy (I am a big fan of the microSD local storage option for this reason), be advised that I have all of my eufy cams isolated on a guest wi-fi network and haven’t had any issues with operation that way: they don’t need access to discover other devices after their initial set-up with the app.

For the price, I think the Blink system is the best option. I got it on sale and got an amazing deal on it that I absolutely could not pass up. I’ve had this system for 2 years and have been using it consistently.

In the daylight, the cameras work great. The notifications are super customizable, which I love. There is about a 25 sec delay from when motion is triggered to when you get the video, so usually by the time I pull up the camera view on my phone whatever triggered it is gone.

And there’s a slight delay (5 sec maybe?) between when motion is detected and it starts the recording, so we often get clips of the back end of an animal crossing the driveway and can’t tell what it is.

That doesn’t matter in my case because the vast majority of our trespassers are cats, raccoons, and an occasional fox or bear. The night camera isn’t great. I’m not sure whether you’d be able to identify a human on the video at night if you needed to, but I’d imagine only if they walked right in front of it and looked at it.

The app is easy to use for the most part, and if you get stuck on something you can Google it. All in all it’s a decent system. The camera quality is definitely a bit better on the Ring video systems, but they’re twice the price, so like most decisions it comes down to what you’re willing to spend.

I’d give this about 4. 5 stars, but since that’s not an option I’ll have to go with 4. For the cost though, I do think it’s the best option – for what I paid, I’m very happy with it and I’d buy it again.

If I had a house that was more likely to be targeted by criminals and more valuable stuff to steal, I’d pay the extra for a Blink system, but that would be overkill for me personally.

Ordered these from BB and the delivery was quick. The camera setup and mount is very easy. Although storing videos to the cloud requires subscription, it’s free to use a local storage drive with the Blink module.

The cameras work well but we primarily arm them when no one is at home. It’s Worth noting that these are suitable for indoor use where movement is minimal and you want to use motion detection to be notified of entry in your home.

These are not to be used as ‘live monitoring’ devices or for areas with heavy movement. The 2 year battery life is an exaggerated claim – the blink website outlines what you can expect to do if you want it to last 2 years – and it’s literally like 30 seconds of usage per day.

PROS: Easy to setup and install Local storage of clips is free Video quality (indoor) is acceptable Motion detection is good but if there’s very quick movement in low light, the camera sometimes fails to detect it CONS: Audio quality is horrible.

There’s no way this can be called ‘2 way audio’ The camera is certainly not suited for outdoors, continuous usage. Battery life is surely nowhere near as long as what’s described. If you’re looking for something to use indoors as a ‘movement monitor’ for when you’re away, these cameras are useful.

If you need a live feed device for indoor or outdoor use, look elsewhere.

The claims of the batteries lasting a year are preposterous unless perhaps the cameras are barely recording doing any work. In the eight months I’ve had mine I’ve charged three of the cameras twice and one of them four times.

They work more in the summer when there are leaves on trees causing shadows that move and get picked up by the motion detection. But if I make the motion less sensitive, I’ll miss seeing the motion that matters so I just deal with it.

But once I’ve learned the quirks of the system and gotten past a few limitations of the app I don’t like, I really like the system overall. The video quality is great. There are no hidden fees. There are no monthly fees necessary and the app is easy to use and doesn’t require unnecessary steps to waste time to view a camera when an alert pops up (compared to my awful Arlo system that requires a fingerprint and then shows an advertisement and has a huge lag before finally connecting to see the motion that it likely missed anyway but I can’t see without paying their fee).

I wish this system was compatible with IFTTT and had better integration with Google Home and SmartThings as my other home security devices are, but the fact that every time look at one of these cameras on the app or computer and it’s right there all the time without any lag or any delay in connecting, is much more important.

The cameras have been very reliable, even in the north eastern winter in minus degrees. The battery did not waver and I can still get a good six months out of heavy use before having to recharge again.

Set up was super easy connecting the camera to the homebase. The range from the homebase to an individual camera is about 150 feet, which was more than adequate to maintain a steady streaming in 2K around my entire property.

Some of the motion detection, especially at night, was a little excessive but was able to “dial it down“ in the app for each individual camera. I really like the strong magnetic connections to the mounting, as this allows to flexibly reposition cameras.

I even just plopped it on to the mailbox just for fun. My only gripe is with the computer software which does not allow you the same flexibility as via the phone app. You cannot call up the cameras video feed on your computer.

They need to work on this. Finally, when I did have an issue with one of the cameras, I called customer service and I received a replacement camera within a few days, no questions asked. You have to love that!.

If you have ever owned a Nighthawk or a Swann, the overall clarity, especially the night vision, on this camera system is going to be disappointing. That being said, the system does exactly what I had hoped it would, which is detect motion on the property and be able to record it and store it for later viewing.

It does that marvelously and it is very simple to set up. I like the push to talk feature and the sound bites that it captures outside, too. In a perfect set up, it would be really nice if you didn’t have to be anchored to a plug in, but the cords are long enough to get the cameras up out of easy reach, especially if you use an extension cord made for outside use.

I added surge protectors, just in case there is lightening. I do wish that the monitor screen was larger, but it is not a deal breaker having it on the smaller side. For those who need a system that can operate and record without internet, this is a good system.

Not great clarity but good and good overall. I wanted to have my four cameras guarding each other against someone trying to steal the cameras themselves, as well as guard the property. So, I have the cameras pointing at each other.

Doing this makes a small blob of light where the one camera sees the other camera, due to the night vision. It does not do that during the day. I have friends who use ring cameras and this one is similar, in terms of recording audio with the camera footage.

I like that feature a lot. And this one doesn’t need internet at all, which is nice if you live in an area where the WIFI is sketchy or non-existent. Besides adding outdoor extension cords and surge protectors, I also plan to add a larger capacity memory card in the near future.

The one that comes with it is fine, as long as you are at home a lot and able to review footage and clean it up on a regular basis. On a final note, I was surprised at the light weight of these cameras.

My Nighthawk cameras weigh A Lot more, but they have a more sturdy feel to them that these Defender cameras. I have been using and testing this Defender system for about two weeks now and so far, I am satisfied with the purchase.

Whether you are or not is going to depend on your needs and your pre-existing expectations, especially if you are someone used to crystal clear night vision.

This system is complete without the internet connection, downloading any apps, having to sign up for service, or setting up a password account. It’s exactly what’s good for security. I keep my system plugged into a computer type battery backup unit so it won’t lose its settings due to a power outage.

The SD card storage is ideal but I wish the file format was mp4, wmn, or flv instead of asg. The cameras have spider web problems which triggers alerts and records these false alarms. Apparently this is an electronics problem and has gone away after some use in both cameras.

The false alarms from wind blown plant leaves or moving shadows is a major problem; however the system still functions. The “sleep mode” is wonderful and detects and shows video of deliveries etc. The two way communication is also a wonderful feature.

I have several of these systems and should buy another for spare. So far I have not had a problem with pairing the cameras. If one of my cameras is unplugged the system reports that it is “out of range.

” The owners manual is 70 typed pages. It’s entertaining to read, however, the system is so easy to use the owner could probably set up and use the system without an owner’s manual. Using the system is intuitive and the learning curve is fast.

Becausethe SD storage chip is so easy to corrupt, it is advisable to turn off the control unit before inserting or removing the chip; however do not unplug the power cord as this will lose your settings.

It is imperative to set the correct time and date asap. I like the screen size and video quality, however if large size and high video quality are desired there are probably other systems for that purpose.

The video is clear. The distance to one cam is about 70 feet, with obstacles, the other twenty and reception is 3-4 bars. The lack of instructions with the cam is off-putting however I was able to go the site and find the manual to download.

(You’ll probably need it. ) The four stars is for a) cheesy controls, and b) lack of manual. Getting to the menu items is not clearly explained (you have to use the left/right, up/down arrows on the round button which is next to the menu button.

The L/R, U/D arrows are extremely finicky and threw me around willy nilly; frustrating. The PRINT on the gray case is so faint it requires the eyes of a night creature or eagle to read (I have very good eyesight.

) Sorry, that is enough to take a star away. I attempted to mount one cam on an overhead rafter. Mistake; I should have figured it out before I put it up, mea culpa. Cam will only hang upside down and hence, upside down picture.

Kind of looking for a little more length on the mounting shaft. Ended up mounting it on a door frame. Last, but not least, major pain in the bazoomba. do NOT use the screws they supply. DO NOT. Cheap, heads stripped out almost immediately.

Just start with a good quality, hardened screw and save yourself the mega hassle of having to unscrew the mount (that wouldn’t hang properly) with a pair of pliers. (Pilot hole was drilled. ) But, it has nice features and a good camera.

As to longevity, only time will tell. Last (Uniden) camera lasted 17 years; I do hope this will be as sturdy.

I’ve been using zmodo cameras for many years now. I love these cameras. If you have one go out try another power cord before tossing the camera. Sometimes it’s the cord not the cameras. I called zmodo to purchase new cords, problem solved.

They’re fairly easy to set up. I do admit that sometimes they can be a booger to get set up. When all else fails call them. They can help you link a camera with a few easy steps. I reccomend keeping some extra power cords on hand.

Contrary to some of the other posts, you do not need a subscription. It will always send you notifications when there is movement and you can add an NVR if you want to record without a subscription. Zmodo has excellent quality and a great picture.

If you want a system that works on a local network when your internet is down then this isnt the right kind of system. Instead of leaving a bad review they should have simply read the information before purchasing.

Yes internet is required but it is a simple set up that I completed for all 5 of the cameras I have purchased over the last year with a note 8 and note 9 phone. My 66 year old dad set his up by himself with a s9+.

I just hate when an excellent product gets a bad review because someone was too lazy to read before they bought it and “wanted an apple but bought an orange” and got mad about it. Great product. Highly recommend!.

These cameras constantly drop off the internet connection. Then you have to redo the setup process. About 2 months of having the cameras they all dropped off the internet and only one was able to be reconnected.

Until about a week ago the last one fell off the internet and now can not reconnect. Customer Service is worthless. They just send you links to check internet speed. Absolutely no help. Don’t buy a warranty on them because they won’t replace the camera or refund anything back to you.

My original review was posted in the Guard site and not on the Guard Pro. This is for the Pro version security cameras. I have to say I am very impressed with the cameras! Ordered directly from Defender and it arrived within a couple days.

Set up was pretty straight forward and I had them working within minutes over WiFi. Images appear very clear, and the motion capture is better than I expected. Usually you get a few seconds of footage prior to the trigger object coming into view, which is nice.

I am still playing with alerts and sensitivity to get it right for my requirements. It can pick up on the slightest movements. I do like the night light, both for colour night vision as well as lighting up the dark walk way for guests.

Some nice features are the talk-back, remote siren, remote lighting snapshot and record in the app. It is nice that I can do all the programming on the cameras from the app as well. The siren could be a bit louder, but will suffice for my needs.

The Human Detection seems to work well. Solid unit overall and good mounting options. I have only had the cameras up for a short period, but am really happy with the purchase. Also that I am not required to subscribe to any monthly plans is nice too.

Ordered two more since. As for support – I discovered a small glitch with my app installation, that required a re-install which I managed to figure out after I opened a ticket off hours. A support resource contacted me the next morning, so I know that next time when I actually DO need support, they will be responsive.

Love my Guard Pros! I have several Guard Pros and one Guard camera. Having the Guard as well, it was great to be able to compare the two. I absolutely love the human detection, colored night vision and two way audio.

The colored night vision was a game changer, as it allows for a much clearer image of anyone coming near my home at night. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoy the motion light, for the colored night vision as it also works as a nice light, when coming home late and forgetting to turn on the porch light.

Overall, I can’t see enough good things about the Guard Pro, the app is user friendly, easy to set up, easy to share with other members of the household. I love the push notifications, as it makes it easy to know when someone is coming to my home, or package has arrived.

Honestly I love the Guard Pro camera so much that I actually ended up buying two more! Internal Tester | Amanda M. | Defender.

I was part of the Beta Trial and am so happy for that opportunity. The camera is far superior to previous Defender products. Similarly, the App is most excellent, especially when compared with Defenders previous App.

Here are a few notes and potential areas for improvement: The App is not compatible with previous Defender cameras. The playback options are most excellent, but the sensitivity controls are a bit faulty sometimes, resulting in false positives.

Specifically, the block out capacity doesn’t quite work fully, resulting in notices from a flying flag, for instance. Finally, the audio quality and picture clarity are outstanding. We’re quite happy with the system, and very much look forward to additional purchase options soon.

Excellent system, especially for the price. The cameras are easy to mount and the rest is easy to set up. The picture definition is also extremely sharp. BTW, you don’t need to keep it hooked up to the internet unless you want remote control or viewing on a cell phone.

You might need to hook up for initial set up, like I did, but that’s it.

I love it. Really easy to install and setup. I had tried some battery operated cameras and discovered that I could not do live monitoring all the time because it used too much battery power. These are great and I can see when my cats are at the door wanting to come inside.

Have received the system, super easy to install! the quality is better than I expected. Great for home or small business.

The pros: 1) It’s easy to set up. The cameras are already paired. 2) It takes a full size SD card which gives maximum compatibility and it won’t get lost easily like TF or MicroSD. I chose a Samsung Endurance card because it has a 5 year full warranty, but they only go up to 128GB.

3) I think it uses motion JPEG, but the quality is decent unlike some others where the JPEG compression is turned up to maximum. With today’s cheap memory it’s not a big issue. 4) Has a wired Ethernet connection for Internet access.

Has Android / iOS remote viewing. 5) The year on the clock goes up to 2064, unlike 2038 on many other cameras. The bad part is this device lacks a lot of features. 1) High write endurance memory cards for continuous write applications are smaller or have much shorter warranties.

There is no USB port for an external hard drive. 2) It’s on 2. 4GHz which is quite congested and there is no information about what part of that frequency bad it uses. 3) There is no battery backup in the monitor.

Unplugging power resets the clock, so any scheduled recording will get messed up. If it’s plugged in through Ethernet to the Internet it can set its clock with a time server. I don’t think there’s a way to specify what time server it uses.

It has an unused USB mini B connection on it, maybe that could be a backup power source. 4) Mobile only – No PC computer or standard way of remotely viewing the video. 5) The scheduled recording is confusing.

You have to add the entire day as a record day and then “delete” portions from it if you want to record at night but stop during the day. 6) There is no masking area or exclusion area from the motion detection.

7) There is no way to adjust the quality or lower the frame rate. The amount of storage used with both cameras in HD is quite high. 8) The zoom button on the monitor says that it can’t be used in HD mode, which is when it would be the most useful.

A $40 wireless IP camera tends to have a lot more features like real h264 recording, more usable remote monitoring, email alerts, optional local MicroSD card storage, works with a computer DVR, and will work with an existing 802.

11 wireless network instead of possibly interfering with it.

I’ve had the system for about 3 weeks and so far it is operating well. The daytime picture is very good and the nighttime one isn’t bad either. I started with the 2 camera system and added 2 more cameras as well as an SD card.

I do have a few concerns. As many have mentioned, the ‘Joystick’ button is poorly designed. It is too sensitive, especially if you have large fingers. get ready to have to re-enter numerous times. The receiver should have a battery backup so you don’t lose the time setting if you shut it off.

(If the receiver’s brightness bothers you at night or you are concerned with ‘screen burn-in ‘. push the ‘Scan Mode’ button and it will shut off the picture while not affecting the cameras recording, time stamp etc.

I’m surprised that there is no mention of that in the Owner’s Manual. actually I didn’t see anything in the manual telling us what that “Scan Button” even does. ) The cameras need longer cords especially since you mention to not use extension cords.

Probably my biggest complaint is the “Motion Detection” settings. You supposedly have the choices of HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW, and OFF. but they don’t seem to make a difference. especially the OFF. While 3 of my cameras are outside and I want the motion detector activated at all times, my 4th camera is inside my garage and since we spend a lot of time working on the cars etc.

, I wanted to set that camera’s detection to OFF so it’s not constantly recording us. However even with the camera motion detector set to OFF, it still records whenever we walk by it. filling up the SD card.

Why have those 4 settings for each camera if they don’t work?.

Very nice security system! The two cameras in the box already compared to the system so as soon as you power them up, they show up on the monitor! The only downside, if it really is one, is that each camera has its own AC adapter plug to power it.

It is critical that you figure out if you have a way to get power to the camera. Whether that be having an outlet box installed near the camera, or whatever you can come up with. I almost think that the manufacturer would do better with lithium ion batteries that can be recharged after however many months that they will stay powered! The only other item on the monitor that I did not particularly care for was the soft little joystick on the far right.

I think that they should have used a (+) pad instead. That’s little joystick can be a little too sensitive and you end up hopping on to options that you did not intend to. Other than that we had the two cameras and monitors installed on the house and up and running in just a couple hours! Be advised to that the 256 GB card has to be bought separately also.

Definitely a better solution could be found on how to power each camera. Oh, keep in mind also that they need to be kept out of the weather. Such as being rained on and issues like that.

Bought a replacement Lumus to replace the same model under a year old. The LED night lights have stopped working. Not very good for a camera of this age.

Works Great! Easy to install

I’ve owned this camera set for about 2 months and did a lot of research before I purchased it. Something that I never read or heard about from prior reviews is the issues this product has with motion detection.

The issues include: inconsistent detection, detection of objects outside of the programmed zones, and somewhat slow response time. I’ve been fiddling with the settings a lot and have concluded that there is some underlying issues with the software.

I recently did a search for the ‘detection of objects outside the zone’ issue because I was getting annoyed with false notifications of cars driving past the street, even though they were way out my programmed detection zones.

I searched to see if I could find support for this issue and what I found was disappointing; I saw Reddit comments and other forums from 1. 5 years ago with the same issue and peoples attempts at solving this issue have not been successful through contact with the company.

I’ve also had issues with people crossing through my motion detection zones coming right up to the house that have not been picked up by the system at all – this occurrence is inconsistent and happens maybe 1 out 10 times that I am aware of.

Also, notification delay can be frustrating because I generally want some notice before a person pulls up, gets out of their car and rings our doorbell. I get a chime from the app a split second before I hear the doorbell, but realistically the car pulling up should have triggered the notification, and I should have at least been notified as the person was getting out of their car.

The hardware for this product is fantastic and I’m really happy with all other aspects of this camera including the app interface and features. It’s still a very good product but I wanted you all to be aware of the issues I’ve been having so you can make an educated decision to purchase it.

These cameras are replacing a system that is 4-5 years old so right off the bat I was thrilled with the picture quality. It is miles better than what I am used to. It’s super clear and crisp. Set up was really easy, as was install.

The notifications pop up quickly on my phone and Apple Watch and with the option turned on I can see a shot of whats going on without having to open the app. Our old system went off constantly for every little thing and the zones never worked.

The zones on these cameras work great. My front camera zone is just my yard and a car on the street hasn’t set it off yet. I will be replacing my doorbell with a Eufy because I’m really pleased with how well it works! Unless you turn all the settings way down don’t expect this to actually last an entire year, probably more like 3-4 months but that’s pretty standard for a wireless camera.

I wanted to give it some time before reviewing this, mostly to test the “weatherproof” aspect of this camera and I can now say that it holds up pretty well! I live in a place prone to hurricanes and though we haven’t had one hit since installing these cameras, we’ve had some pretty intense rain and wind and it doesn’t seem to affect the functionality at all.

Install and setup was quick and easy. Picture quality is perfectly clear. Motion/person detection is great as is the ability to customize notifications so your phone isn’t getting blown up because of every little shadow or leaf blowing in the wind.

We have another camera system which I do like better because of the ability to move the camera directly from the app on my phone, which you can’t do with these. However, those other cameras can be a pain; they’re too sensitive and pretty finicky.

I’ve had NO issues with these whatsoever. the feedback is IMMEDIATE. I will receive a notification before I have even finished pulling out of my garage into my driveway (where one camera overlooks) which gives me peace of mind that if anyone were ever approaching my house that wasn’t supposed to be, I would know about it in real time before they even finished approaching my house.

Not long after they’re gone like with certain doorbell systems/cameras. Overall, I really love this camera system. Especially love that it’s wireless! Only wish they would update it so that you could control pan and tilt from your phone!.

Pretty impressive camera have had this for about 7months or so. Best when paired with the reolink solar panel so you dont need to worry about charging it when direct sunlight will provide charge to the solar panel which charges the camera.

I use this camera around the chicken run and the 360 degree feature allows me to see where my chooks are but also pan/tilt around to see around the coop especially during the night as this camera also has night vision as well.

The camera takes a Micro SD card and with enough storage you can record as much as you want (does not record continuously ). Motion detection is good, easy installation and overall a good camera. Only complaint i have about this camera is the connection even though it is connected to my wifi extender which is in close range.

At times the camera will fail to load and this happens to my other wireless reolink cameras aswell , this issue can remain for while however , regardless of this i still recommend the camera.

Serving the purpose it’s mainly intended for. Would like if it had a longer distance for motion triggering, and for our purposes I’d prefer the red lights to be invisible at night

Great camera and features for the price! I have 2 security cameras this brand and I would recommend.

We had no issues with Ring, but the Arlo technology is just better as of the writing of this review. The resolution is better (1440p vs 1080p) and the ability to differentiate between a person, animal, vehicle, or other movement is huge.

When I get a notification, that extra tidbit is the first thing I look for, especially at night. If there is a person lurking about, I want to know that immediately. That one feature distinguishes this camera from Ring in my book.

The battery life lasts 4-5 weeks, even with moderate motion triggers. And recharging is very quick. So we just take one down at a time and recharge during times of day when it is more convenient to be without coverage for a short period.

One last note: as with any wireless camera system, good wireless coverage is essential. The further away from a good connection it is, the longer it will take to connect and give you a notification. If there is a situation that needs your immediate attention, seconds count.

If you are putting a camera in an area with lower wifi coverage, I would recommend having a mesh router system or wireless access point nearby to be sure you have sufficient coverage. That is not an issue with Arlo.

That is an issue with all wireless camera systems. The wifi received on this camera system is very good. I have camera on the outside of the opposite end of the house from my router in a single story 2100 sq ft brick home and got a good signal.

I added a mesh router close to the camera to ensure a good signal just to be safe. This camera system is excellent. You will not go wrong with it. I highly recommend it.

I’ll start by saying I got 3 of these and a hub, the version I got had the larger XL extended life batteries in the cams then got the solar panel chargers. This is to help you decide if Arlo’s are for you.

The battery life is nowhere near what they say. Even with the larger batteries it seems about 20 motion events a day will drain it 2-3% each day. That’s only a month without removing and recharging. These smaller battery cams even less before taking down and recharge.

The other 2 cams get about 5 motion detects per day and last more than a month without recharge. Trying to use these to constantly watch video drains them in a few days. I could only get that done on Apple Home app on my Ipad, via the hub which is supposed to help conserve batteries.

You don’t want to get these to try to watch constant video. Also selecting only “people” and “vehicles” in the settings for alerts helps or there are too many alerts and battery drain. The detection alerts are fairly accurate and timely.

Similar to a ring doorbell. The video quality is good also. Also similar to a ring doorbell the first several seconds of motion are cut so you might miss a person walking past it unless they stop. The included cement or stucco wall anchors are [email protected]

Too hard plastic with too small hole and not enough grabbing ribs. You’ll tend to round out the screw head or spin them before getting them to work. If you’re doing that type of mounting buy others before beginning project.

The solar panels work well, I’m getting up to 6% recharge in a day with them so it’s worth having those or usb hardwired option because recharging them isn’t practical unless in an area with very little motion.

To summarize I might skip the hub, and if you get it you might accidently bypass it during installation if you wifi pair to the cams. I don’t know that it does much good. You’ll want to get a solar or hassle with usb wiring option.

Also you’ll need a monthly subscription at $10 or sale or ID. me of $7. 50 a month to get the notifications like the whole reason you bought this.

I’ll start with what I did not like about the Arlo Pro 4: 1. Video resolution. While it was good about capturing vehicles, it was bad for detailed information such as reading license plates or reading information of Company owned vehicles even when set in the HDR mode.

2. Filters would only filter “Saved” videos. Eg. Filter Animals. The camera will still recognize an animal, capture it on video and send a notification to your phone/computer. The videos were just filtered from automatically showing up in your library.

As you can see I did give it a 4 Star rating as it worked pretty much flawlessly for the 3 months we were away from our home. It was good about recognizing people from vehicles from animals. One of the cameras shut down when it lost internet connection but came back up later.

I liked the night time capturing with the infrared mode. The camera will allow you to light up moving item at night so that you can see the subject in color. Personally I didn’t want the subjects to know that they were being watch.

The tracking feature was okay and it was extremely easy to set up from physically mounting it around our home to connecting electronically to our internet. While it didn’t become an issue, had there been a threat to our home we would not have been able to identify a vehicle from any text located on the vehicle and this would have been very upsetting had it happened.

I received the unit and upon opening everything was there as advertised. The equipment was very well wrapped and protected for shipping. I had trouble inserting the 128gb SD Micro Card into the unit because I didn’t realize there was a 16gb card already in there (might be something to add to the initial setup instructions?).

A quick call to your support line and a chat with a very helpful and knowledgeable lady soon rectified the problem. Setup was pretty straight forward and I had the camera up and running in no time. My first impression was how great the DAYLIGHT picture quality was!!! It was crystal clear and the motion quality was quite smooth.

The thing I REALLY like though, is the motion alert & playback feature – it allows you to view the motion with ample time before and after the incident. I kept trying out the other features and I was quite impressed.

I waited until night (which happens to be around 5:00 p. m. now) and tried some NIGHT shots. This was VERY DISAPPOINTING !!! The picture quality was terrible. I compared the picture to my Lorex cameras, My IP360 (by JOOAN) and my daughter’s IPCAM.

The Defender Guard had the poorest picture quality of all four cameras!!! If someone broke into the house the footage COULD NOT be used as evidence for anything. The Video on your sight showing the night footage of the racoon is misleading.

There must be an external light shining on the racoon otherwise he would only appear as an unrecognizable ghost shape. I am hesitant to go through the trouble of installing the camera outside if it’s not going to be useable at night! It is great for daytime use but useless for night.

Overall, if the unit had a better nighttime feature along with the 128gb SD card and extended warranty this would be a hard to beat value.

I bought this 2 months ago. Pros: The image quality is not great but not terrible for the price. Initial setup was easy. App works surprisingly well and easy to use. You can set it to record constantly which is handy and can store several days with 128gb cards.

Cons: Motion detection is basically worthless. Turn the sensitivity up too high and every speck of dust or gnat floating around (especially at night with the IR lights on) triggers it to record. Turn it down just a tad and suddenly it picks up nothing unless a Mack truck drives 10 feet in front of it.

People 15-20 ft away won’t trigger it. Also if set to record with motion detection only, it doesn’t start recording until after the motion is detected, so the kids driving by smashing mailboxes out the window of their car will be long gone by the time the motion is detected and the camera actually starts recording.

Most cameras record a loop and just delete if no motion is detected in that loop. Not these ones. Image quality isn’t good enough to read license plates of people who pull in my driveway unless they park directly in front of the camera about 10ft away, and only during the day.

Last straw for me was when I went to switch routers. When trying to reconnect them to the new router, one of the cameras absolutely refused to connect. I tried at least 7 times. Followed all the directions (which are minimal), reset it, nothing.

Confirmed with my phone it had no problem connecting to the 2. 4ghz channel (which this camera requires) and camera was only about 20′ from the router in the house, signal strength was not an issue. The only way to “connect” to the cameras to setup the wifi is by having your phone play a sound through the camera app that the camera picks up and decodes somehow.

The only diagnostics this camera has is a blinking red and green light. Very poor interface for setting up the camera. My phone (like most smart devices) should be able to connect directly to the camera via wifi to set it up.

This just relies on hearing an audible sound coming from your phone. This is a laughable design for something in 2021 (now 2022).

Great camera, I already have 2 like cameras and they have been great in securing my property. Easy setup, I have 2 of these cameras wired with ethernet cord and one wireless. Just follow instructions available to install for wireless.

My wired setup was the following, connected the ethernet cable to camera and router and powered up the camera and then started my mobile app and selectred add camera to app and the app found the new camera and I could the camera view.

I powered off camera and then ran the ethernet cord and power cable to location I needed camera installed outside and plugged power and ethernet cable to a outlet and router inside my home which ever method you prefer, through window or any opening coming into house and seal afterward and ready to go.

Secured all cables and along with the external weather connector included for ethernet cable and the install was completed. Great product have used 2 other cameas for 3 years. I did install larger Sd card 128 gig to two of the cameras where possbly more activity.

This is by far the best cellular camera available. I’ve tried the Arlo and several brands of trail cameras and this one exceeds all of them. Reception is excellent even in areas where phones will not work.

Solar charging is great. The Pan and Tilt make this camera so awesome. Motion detection is excellent. The app is easy yo use. The time lapse feature is fun and useful. Both color and infrared night vision work good.

Cloud storage option is well worth the subscription. Video capture on motion makes it invaluable for wildlife detection. I recommend an after market cellular omnidirectional antenna for very poor reception areas.

We purchased a cell signal tester and the cheap ones work better than the expensive ones. If you have trouble firing it up with a nano SIM card don’t give up. It’s a process of learning how to install an apn file in the nano SD card but once you figure it out it puts the competition to shame.

We have tried nearly every cell provider and settled on Mint Mobile. Our area works best on a GSM cell protocol. GSM is the protocol that AT&T and T-Mobile use but all unlocked providers also use the GSM protocol.

Verizon is the only odd ball cell protocol out there. Don’t expect to just stick in a nano SIM and fire it up. You will have to install an apn file into the nano SD before firing up the camera. Support can help online but just look up how to put an apn file in the SD card and your up and running.

The area that we are running these cameras in is such bad reception that you are completely dead on your phone. By the way the aftermarket antenna height makes absolutely no difference during testing with all antennas.

I hope one day Reolink will add a motion detection sensor that when it detects motion it will auto pan and tilt the camera to track it. Keep up the great work Reolink. Your an idiot if you go buy a cellular trail camera after reading this review.

This camera was recommended to me by a family member. I got 2! Very easy to set up. Clear images at night, I get a notification as soon as there is activity. Works by detecting a moving object (car or person) as well as a change in pixels on the screen so double accuracy.

I can talk, turn on an alarm, turn on a powerful spotlight. All from my phone! It hardly uses any battery power. I’ve had it in use for two weeks and haven’t had to charge it. I have a 64gb micro SD card and the videos overwrite when it’s full.

Which will be ages away.

Camera worked great for 15 months then the solar panel stopped being able to keep it charged. Since it is in a remote location this makes it useless until I can drive 300 miles, get out the ladder, get up on the roof and charge the battery.

Then a few weeks later repeat.

I just tried to order one and Im absolutely happy with the camera. Its so easy to set up and work great. Only 1 notice point inconvenience that the battery is exactly last long for 3 months, and you need to recharge it.

But, Im still like it.

I have ordered it from the EU – obviously came with a US socket, had to obtain a converter. The app setup is confusing – it says unable to add but then appears on the list of cameras. Had to buy an SD card to have local archive – it is stated clearly though just some extra cost.

The motion detection has a lag time, either on starting the recording or that it then gets blocked for a few minutes once detected. Therefore I wanted to have continuous footage so had to do some tweaks in the admin of the camera (using the IP via the router on the local network).

Helpdesk shared how to log on and how to set it up to record all the time. After that it works like charm – including IFTTT integration. Not cheap but a good value for the price. Would recommend.
