A long range TV antenna is an antenna that is designed to receive signals from far away television broadcast towers. These antennas can be either indoor or outdoor antennas, but outdoor antennas are typically more powerful and have a longer range.
A long range TV antenna can pick up signals from broadcast towers up to 500 miles away.
The Channel Master 50 is a compact durable directional outdoor TV antenna. It receives over-the-air TV and FM broadcast signals from up to 50 miles away and from within a 90 angle. The powder-coated Black finish helps the 50 blend into outdoor areas without reflection while providing ultra-high quality HD signals.
So far so good (less than a week). Easy to install. Used the post and coaxial from the old DirecTV dish (removed the actual dish). Added a cheap amplifier at the TV set. Doubled the channels compared to the indoor flat antenna.
Being in a small city/rural area, the number of channels is still limited. Went from 15 to 30 OTA channels and at least all the major networks are coming in (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and PBS). Used Antennaweb.
org and a compass to make sure it was oriented in the right direction. A few channels are broadcasting from other directions but I don’t miss them. The footprint is small and unobtrusive as it is less than the dish.
Great value given that some indoor antennas cost as much or more. And didn’t have to go in on the more expensive outdoor antenna.
I’ve been using Channel master DVRs for years. So recently I paid a pro to install me a antenna on my building’s rooftop. So I asked him, btw which antenna are you installing, he said he only uses these Channel Master Stealth antennas, cause he finds them be perform perfectly even at such a small size.
He said these perform as good or better than biggest ones he has seen. so I told him sir you do not have to sell me on Channel Master, I know them well, I have 3 different DVRs from them, I’m a big fan of the brand.
And I’ve this antenna hooked up now for like 3 months already. And I’m in Brooklyn NY so it was now three hardest winter months, it’s been some really bad snow, windy, rainy, e. t. c e. t. c e. t. c.
but the antenna signal has been PERFECT! That is because both the installer and the antenna itself did fantastic! So I’ve round full circle after years, I finally find myself watching tv on my CM DVR+, and now with a CM Stealth antenna on my roof supplying the signal.
and both are performing perfectly! Couldn’t be happier with both. (I prefer the DVR+ over my Stream+). Now I’m thinking if I should get the TiVo edge, it’s on sale for $299 with Lifetime service. idk.
Why should you Cut the Cord? Cutting the Cord has benefits that go way beyond saving money Recent studies have shown that over 90% of the US population is within range to stream free over-the-air HD television.
The average US household’s cable bill is 123. Cable companies are allowed to downgrade their service by 30% to save on transmission costs. OTA doesn’t have this problem. Outdoor Amplified Digital HDTV Antenna – 150 Miles Range – 360 Rotation This outdoor HDTV antenna is designed to receive digital TV UHF/VHF signals while providing high quality HDTV picture.
You can enjoy high definition television without the high cost of cable or satellite. With a built-in rotor, Turn a full 360 degrees using the infrared remote control.
Works as represented in terms of getting alot of channels and good clear tv reception. And shipping was right on time. The problem was you have to drill a big 1″ hole through your wall to connect the antenna system.
You cannot attach the coax the antenna comes with to your cable network already in place. I went back and read the description but no where was it mentioned that you could not connect the factory coax to your existing cable network.
To me, it was deceptive to not specifically state a material and important limitation such as mounting the antenna somewhere as long as it’s less than 40 feet from the tv. Given a 24 foot antenna pole you have less than 16 feet to run to your tv.
The reason is that the antenna rotator and signal amplifier are both powered through the factory antenna cable. So you can’t use the antenna or the antenna rotator unless you connect the factory cable directly to your tv.
That means drilling a big hole through your wall to connect to the tv. Also, the second so-callled antenna cable coming out of the rotator control box is only maybe 6 feet long. So yes, you can have another tv on that antenna but it would have to be closer than 6 feet from the tv already connected.
If I had known this up-front I would never have bought the antenna. So, if youdon’t mind drilling a big hole through your wall and are well withing 40 feet of the antenna then no problem. But if you expect to just connect the factory cable to your existing cable system then you have a pretty big problem.
For these reasons I would not buy another antenna such as this one. I give iit 2 stars because it did work good and delivered on-time. But the installation was totally unexpected.
Easy to assemble!! Works great I went from having 3 channels to 25channels! Would recommend highly! We live in a rural area have trees around us all over and the stations come in crisp and clear! I only have it mounted about 20ft in the air.
I can only imagine how good it will be once I have it mounted in the air 30ft like its recommended! Thank you!! Best part was shipping, I ordered Friday Morning and had it Monday Afternoon! Thank you.
It would be easy to use if the manufacturer would have taken some more time and effort to build into the unit a system where it would at least tell you were facing north, south or where ever better yet have degrees displayed somewhere.
The meter on my tv does not stay up for the full 28 seconds it takes to do a full revolution. From where I am to Montreal is flat an I still can not get all the stations that I used to get with a big antenna.
This HD-2605 Ultra TV Lava outdoor Antenna with Motor Rotor, allowing you to adjust its orientation comfortably from inside your home. The 360 degree remote control also helps you get better signals than regular ones.
This antenna is capable of reception from up to 150 miles. It is a good solution for rural or suburban areas. It is great for UHF/VHF/FM reception.
It works but so does all the other rotor models. It has the same faults as the rest. I bought one as my first. It lasted about 2 yrs. Most will. The worse problem with them all is the cable that they come with that runs from the antenna to the splitter, it you use one or the box.
It cracks within a year or so. Not made from the best material. Best to go to Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot. Any one that sells coaxial cable and get a the better cable. The other is the box. They usually work for about 2 yrs before they start going out.
The antennas last, the motors last. It’s the cables and the box and the box cost about $30. At least half the cost of the whole package. My thought is buy any of the rotating models, The boxes almost look alike , just different colors.
The box is the brains of the whole thing. The antenna won’t run even one TV if the box is not working. That is the amplifier which these small, 18″ antennas need to even give a signal period. I have been off cable and satellite for several years now and have owned about 3 of these antennas and I am fixing to buy my 4th.
It would have been nice to know the max length of the coax cable from the antenna was only 50’. Didn’t realize until bought and saw manual. Reception was terrible. Also it looks nothing like the picture.
All plastic so I doubt it would have held up after years in the sun. Fins on back are so flimsy too. Very cheaply made.
I was surprised when the box arrived it was much smaller than I expected. My first thought was there must be a million parts to this thing. Surprised again when I opened it. The few component pieces were easy to assemble and the only thing I will re-emphasize is restrain yourself from over tightening everything.
I removed my old 9′ antenna and straightened up the mast. Mounted the LAVA HD2605 and connected it to the existing coax. I aimed it the same direction the old antenna had been. Finishing the inside connections as per the directions and turned on the TV.
WOW! 33 stations and every one of them perfect. I didn’t even need to rotate it. I own a really good TV I never knew how good until I connected it to this antenna. I live in a rural area with out cable and lots of hills.
To get satellite was another project so for years I had to be content with what ever I got from my antenna. It was big and subject to the winds and weather. I could get 26 stations but half of them were un-watchable if it was windy or raining.
It was now obvious that none of them were coming in as true HD with my old antenna. With the LAVA 2605 the TV shows are amazing, sharp, colorful, like never before. I don’t have a monster antenna hanging over my house anymore.
Every channel comes in perfect no matterwhat the weather is doing. Wind, rain, snow, even the big pine trees out back do not affect this antenna. Not that I ever did but I don’t have to pay someone to provide my TV entertainment.
Paying for garbage TV? You may want to consider this option and save yourself a pile of cash every year. I can buy a lot of movies and boxed TV shows for what cable and satellite companies charge. Some of my neighbors noticed the big antenna is gone and wondered what I had put up that is so much smaller.
I invited them in to see my TV. They all agreed my reception and definition are much better than what they are getting. I expect to see a few more of these antennas around soon. This was a great investment.
its easily the best antenna available @ 40 bucks. Those plastic/aluminum chinese monstrosities are worthless. FCC Licensed Broadcast Engineer for 30 years so i might actually know something. Unboxing it is a breeze.
you then twist and snap and its assembled. THE 75 OHM MATCHING TRANSFORMER MUST BE USED. The one i received was bad out of the box, one of the wires internally wasn’t connected, i bought a new one and it worked perfect.
Im almost willing to bet the negative reviews either did not use the matching transformer or theirs was bad. I mounted the antenna on its included mast exactly 11 feet off the ground on my garage eave.
I ran brand new coax cable, approx 70 feet to it. I get 66 tv channels. SIXTY SIX! On my previous Chinese Junk 70 dollar Walmart Brand ONN antenna i received 14 channels. and it is twice the size of this little thing.
(ONN ONA18CH901 HD Outdoor Antenna with 150-Mile Range Included Pole) absolute TRASH antenna. dont waste 70 bucks. I am receiving 27 channels out of Canada, 30 from the USA and some digital music channels and 6 movie channels i have no clue where they are located.
Full HD on at least 2/3rds the channels. ABSOLUTELY in the NORTHEAST or WNY BUY THIS ANTENNA and keep it over 10 feet but under 20 feet off the ground and you will be totally impressed. aim it in the general direction of your favorite stations and watch the channels roll in when you scan for channels.
Seconds to assemble and 5 mins to mount – youll be watching OTA HDTV in 10 mins.
Was using indoor amplified antenna but wanted to see if outdoor would be better. Mounted on old DISH satellite mount. The supplied mount was exactly the same as the old DISH mount. Used the old cable that runs about 40 feet to the plug inside the house.
Used a smart phone compass app to line it up. I am 36 miles from the transmitters. I get ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS. About 20 station in total. Switched from DISH satellite about 20 years ago to antenna.
The pic quality from antenna is better than from cable. With the digital signal, you either have it or not. It is not like the old analog that got snowy and faded in and out. Sometimes heavy rain will disrupt the digital signal.
All stations are not the same. I think some may have more powerful transmitters. My advice. If you live 40 miles or less from a transmitter, try the cheapest indoor antenna first. You may be surprised in what you can pick up.
Get a long run of cable and try many different positions in your house. Concentrate on the side of your house that faces the antenna you are searching for. If you have aluminum siding, it will probably reduce the signal.
If you get lucky, you may get an indoor antenna to work. If not this antenna may be the next step up that may work. IF you are successful, you have the potiential of saving many thousands of dollars over the years.

I read in the online description that Five Star highly recommended outdoor placement of this antenna. I put it in my attic in the Chicago suburbs and pulled in 51 channels. So no need to apologize Five Star.
The antenna arrived intact, all parts were included, the setup instructions were clear, and less than an hour of work later, I had good picture on my small portable set. I am now awaiting arrival of my new TV and expect to hook up to the antenna and take full advantage of the strong signal.
Get TV reception in any room without cable Why pay for expensive cable or satellite service? The ViewTV Antenna has 150-mile range and is as powerful as they come. This outdoor antenna amplifies UHFVHF signals to give you the highest-quality HDTV picture available.
With 360 degree rotation, you can rotate the antenna for better reception from the comfort of your couch with the included remote control. It’s easy to install with the included pole mount and 40-feet of RG6 coaxial cable.
After getting it all put together, which took about 15 minutes my first impression was it felt “cheaply” made. I then installed it on a pole with an overall height of about 25′. I pointed it to where most of the stations I was able to receive on the replaced antenna and went inside, scanned and got nothing new.
So I attempted to rotate the antenna, which does rotate, but to my chagrin, the antenna only has about a 180 turn radius. So i re-pointed the antenna and made numerous movements left and right in an attempt to get additional channels.
In a nutshell, this was a waste of money. I can receive no channels other than the 9 I already receive. Those channels are about 45-50 air miles max from my location. My area is relatively flat being in west TN about 1/2 way between Memphis and Nashville.
There are supposed to be channels due north as well as ENE of me within 90 air miles but this antenna did nothing. I at least got some ghosting with the other antenna I had mounted in the exact same position.
This antenna also was easily interrupted by the wind, birds whatever constantly pixelating channels that came in very strong, without pixelating on the other antenna. I have pulled this antenna and gone back to my original antenna.
I would guess if you are within say 50 miles of a larger city this antenna would do the trick nicely. If you are far away from larger cities, trust me this will probably not be the answer, if this thing is a 150 mile antenna then it has to be mounted at 100 feet or more.
No way, on relatively flat land at 25-30 foot height it is getting anything beyond probably 50 miles, at best assuming the stations are all in one direction of you since it does not rotate beyond 180 degrees.
When I first opened the box, I was skeptical about how well the antenna would work or hold up due to what seems like flimsy material. Once installed and connected to the main line into the house, 3 TVs scanned over 40 channels each! However, since day 2 almost half of those channels don’t come in.
The remote to turn the antenna works perfectly, but I haven’t messed with changing directions because all the major broadcast stations are in one direction, so if I turn it I’ll likely lose those and have to turn it back anyway.
I wish I didn’t have to rescan for channels every time I turn the antenna. So it would be nice if new channels would just show up as the antenna rotated. Overall, excellent reception for what is tuned in.
What remains to be seen will be how well it holds up once winter hits with cold temps, snow, etc.
In a modern era where streaming all of your favorite video content is vastly cheaper than subscribing to cable services, perhaps it is time to cut the cord and save some money. The ONN HD Outdoor TV Antenna will be the solution to you getting rid of your pricey cable and satellite plans without losing access to local TV stations.
Antenna reception is based on the distance from your home to the TV broadcast tower the farther you are from the source, the fainter the signal. Locate the broadcasting towers in your area, then choose the antenna that offers the best features and signal reception for your home.
This antenna is designed for maximum reception range within 60 miles. Mounting bracket, mast and assembly instructions are included; the antenna may be used in the attic.
If you live near a large metropolitan area, this may be just what you need to receive most channels. It is a UHF antenna. (You should not expect Walmart to tell you that. ) Even UHF antennas receive some VHF signals, but they are pretty much omnidirectional for VHF.
The three small elements in front (directors) are sized for channels in the 700 to 900 Mhz range which mostly no longer exist as TV channels. So, for most channels you will receive, it is a 2 element antenna.
It has a built in transformer, so you connect an F connector cable directly to the antenna. Most antenna distance claims are worthless including this one. It depends on the height of the antenna and terrain between you and the TV tower that transmits the signal to you.
The number of channels you receive are dependent on how many channels are being transmitted in your area. If you are disappointed in this antenna, you could buy a better one from Channel Master, a company that has been making antennas since before most of us were born, and whose distance claims are somewhat realistic.
As a starter antenna with a 60 mile range for $15, this is it! It also comes with a “J” mounting pole and 15′ of coaxial cable. I live in an apartment in NW New Jersey and have the antenna connected inside to a $90 TV HD amplifier with LTE filter (sold separately) and with (6’+6′) of RG-6 Quad Shielded Coaxial Cable (sold separately).
I receive “14” channels perfectly. Without the TV HD amplifier with LTE filter, I get “0” channels. I would definitely recommend this product with amplifier (sold separately) to a friend.
It is very easy to put together in under 15 minutes. We have it placed on two outdoor TV poles so roughly 16 ft up and we are able to pick up 30 channels. We do live in a rural area with the closest broadcasting area being 55 miles away from either Northern and Southern stations.
We had a non amplified antenna that was alright but this one provides crisp channels and brings in a few others that we were not able to obtain before. Also, able to bring in channels clear when they start to pixilate by rotating the antenna.
Specially designed for reception of Vhf, Uhf, and HD channel signals. Ditch expensive cable and satellite bills and continue viewing your favorite shows in Full HD on channels such as Abc, Nbc, Cbs, Pbs, Fox and much more with access to all the current events, sitcoms, kids, and sports programs without the monthly bill.
I purchased this antenna to replace an antenna that I had taken down to move to another location. The Monoprice antenna is about two-fifths the size of the antenna I removed. I am surrounded by hilly terrain.
Most of the local transmitters are clustered 10. 5 to 12 miles away except one that is 32 miles away with 32. 5 degrees difference in direction. I installed the antenna on a different mast at the height of 24 ft which is 4.
5 feet higher than the antenna I removed. I aimed the antenna between the clustered transmitters and the transmitter 32 miles away, favoring the transmitter at 32 miles. It works well. I lost no channels with the Monoprice antenna and signal levels are good.
If you know you have adequate signal at you location this antenna should work. I am skeptical of the 70 mile rating for this antenna. With flat terrain and no obstacles the limit of any TV antenna is limited to about 80 miles due to the curvature of the earth.
I was surprised this cost only $20, so I bought it. And yeah, it does work well. I receive all channels, except the weakest ones. To anyone who has space to mount this, I highly recommend it over those cheap flat plastic antennas that cost the same price.
I don’t have a picture, but it looks exactly like on the website and it does look nice.

This antenna was easy to assemble in just a few minutes. If you are not very handy the instruction book will guide you through the assembly. After I had it assembled I decided to mount it in my attic as far to the roof as I could and ran the line to a tv in my garage.
I actually live in a residential area and prefer not to mount this to the top of my house so that is why I proffered to do the attic installation. I used the included mount to make a nice installation look in my attic without any problems.
I had analog cable out in my garage and thought that having a crystal clear digital signal would be nice to watch football games while I work. I went to the website antennaweb and looked up what channels to expect to receive.
I live in a rural area at least 50 miles from the nearest cities and expected to get about 14 channels per the website. After I hooked up the tv to the antenna and did the channel scan I got 17 stations which included PBS,CBS,FOX,NBC, and ABC.
The antenna picked up some of the same networks from multiple surrounding cities. Pretty impressed with how many stations this antenna picked up especially for its size and the area that I live in. All stations had crystal clear picture which is great.
It was packaged very well from the factory with everything arriving in great condition after I opened up the box and the actual construction of the parts feel of good quality but surprising light weight when fully assembled.
Antenna seems to be made well. Brought in a couple more channels than my other antenna. Only thing it is real light and not much wind will distort some channels. I like the design though except for the lightness and ease of bumping around.
All in all I would recommend this antenna because it does as well as all the other ones I have used.
GE Quadcore HD Outdoors Antenna So I decided to save some money and cancel my cable. Then I got this GE Quadcore HD outdoor antenna. It has a long-range up to 70 miles allowing me to receive free local HDTV channels like Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC, and more.
Plus it has 4K fullHD 1080 clarity. Now I am saving over $60 a month and it came with a lifetime warranty. It was Whole Home Ready so I was able to use coaxial cable and connect my whole home to the GE outdoor antenna.
Pros long-range 70 miles. Cons take me about 30 minutes to find the right spot.
The HD8200XL features Xtreme high-gain reception of the digital spectrum, as well as HD FM and analog FM. This powerhouse offers an effective range of up to 70 miles, and sometimes as far as 100 miles under perfect conditions.
Its perfect for deep fringe or low signal areas, such as valleys or behind hills or mountains. The HD8200XL is an inexpensive and easy alternative to cable. Cut the cord and get free HDTV!.
This is a very high quality American made TV antenna. The metal on this antenna is very thick for an antenna, so I expect this antenna to last a lifetime. Almost all the antennas for sale today will only pick up channels 7 through 13 if they even pick up VHF at all and then only if they are receiving a very strong signal.
This antenna will pick up every available channel. I am receiving all 42 channels including our low band VHF channel 6 and the signal is strong and consistent on every channel. Most full size UHF/VHF antennas are 14 ft 6 inches or longer.
I was surprised that this Solid Signal antenna is only 12 ft 6 inches and is well balanced. It doesn’t look nearly as big as my last full size antenna. If you want all your available TV channels and a strong, consistent signal forget the ‘toy’ made in China antennas and get a real antenna made in America with high quality materials.
I had bought this antenna to replace a similar one that the low vhf elements were damaged during an ice storm. I live in southern RI and enjoy both Providence and Boston area stations. Providence PBS 36 and Boston PBS 2 are in the low vhf bands.
This antenna has that frequency coverage. There is perfect reception even with no amplifier. I did install one afterwards for added stability for a 100′ RG6 cable run. Over 40 stations between the two locations there has not been any signal pixel breakup at all.
Works great with my Tablo 4 tuner DVR. If your looking for the best you can get this is the one.
I purchased this antenna because it was the biggest one I could find, thinking that it would give me the best signal reception. But it doesn’t perform as well as my 30 dollar antenna. Now to return and I have to go up retrieve it take it all apart try to find a box big enough to put it in because the box that it came in and was all torn up.
Very disappointed with the antenna especially for how much I paid for it.

This was a purchase that I could have been frustrated with and regretting but turned out to be worth every penny! When I was ready to install this antenna, it did not test correctly. The led on the controller would show red on power on, and then quickly switch and remain yellow.
I sent an emailand tested. Within 12 hours I had a reply back. with an apology for the late reply :The email contained instructions and pictures verifying that I was connecting it correctly without any splitters.
I replied back that the instructions were very clear and simple to follow I had connected everything correctly and according to the instructions. I received another email from support with a set of simple instructions to do 2 simple tests and return pictures of the results.
This was explained as needed to narrow down to the specific component that was the fault for the issue. I did this, which only took me 15 minutes to do and reply with the pictures. My next email explained that the engineers determined from the pictures that it was the cable at fault, and they were going to send me a new cable.
I replied back to that with the fact that I had used 3 different cables in my testing, and that 2 of them were brand new. The next email from Support was that they were going to send me a new antenna instead.
I received the antennae as promised, tested and found it tested correctly. Hands down amazing customer support.
Ive been using an amplified indoor antenna in Va. and have been getting maybe 15 to 20 channels on a clear day. When it rains, the number of channels drops off or freezes on my screen. I took a chance and bought this antenna as it states it can pick up channels up to 150 miles away.
I installed this antenna in my attic ran two coax cables from the output, one thru a 2-way splitter which cuts the power output in half to three televisions. I pointed the antenna in the direction where it would be able to pick up the most signals.
I got so many channels which made my wife happy. When it was raining and storming, I turn on the kitchen tv to see how the signals were in a storm. Channels that I lost or froze during thunderstorms with my old tv antenna came in clear with no freezing on my tv.
I would recommend this antenna and to let everyone know, you can mount it in your attic, and it will work just fine.
I have to admit that I was skeptical at first. The antena is flimsy and very light weight. Installation was straight up kindergarten easy and quick. Box has two video outputs for use with two TVs. Motor turns antenna well and remote to do this works well.
Picture is fine. It does provide HD picture but not sure if it’s 1080p. If your looking to cut cable and expenses then this antenna will get you the local channels and a lot more other channels that I will probably never see.
The pole to place antenna on could be a little longer. Too short in my opinion. For the money it’s just fine.
The Winegard Platinum HD antenna delivers powerful VHF performance and offers additional 1 dB to 2 dB higher gain on VHF and UHF, which is important for weak signal areas. This TV antenna is great for the those in low-signal areas who are trying to overcome loss from trees and terrain.
This antenna features zinc-plated, high-quality steel construction for maximum corrosion resistance and heavy duty construction. ? Key features One of our best-selling and most power outdoor TV antennas on the market Features 69 elements that pulls in low-VHF, high-VHF, UHF, and FM/HD FM signals Is estimated to pull in VHF UHF and FM at 65 miles Classic directional design receives from a 30? beam width High quality construction offers extra strength with double boom braces, high-impact ABS girder design, and supports Uses a unique PC board with a direct 75 Ohm coax connection for minimal signal loss Made in the USA with a long history of top-tier antenna quality What’s Included HD8200U TV anenna Mounting.
It’s not as powerful as we’d hoped. Especially compared to our over 25 yr old radio shack antenna of same design but shorter. It seems to real picky as to where u aim it to get in signals. The radio shack antenna picked up signal in a more broad range.
It seems to be more sensitive to atmospheric changes as well. Rain will cause signal loss on some channels. Again not a problem on the old antenna. Some channels are coming in a bit better but the other issues are just about a deal breaker.
Not worth the extra money we paid for slightly better reception.
This replaced a 54 element antenna with definitely improved reception. Distant (50+ miles) stations come in with rarer drop-outs. The material quality is much better than imports. Thicker, sturdier metal and plastic parts.
Still, be careful when assembling. Open by putting pressure nearer to the fulcrum, not at the ends where everything can bend more easily. A real plus that it’s made in America.
Design of downlead box requires a staking of the contacts to 4 aluminum rods. Box is not sealed, only held with 4 plastic tabs, is thin warped plastic and leaks to elements and insects. My antenna lasted less than a year before surface mounted components and board corroded.
Contact with Winegard told me it is only covered for 90 days. That tells a lot that a manufacturer will only warranty a passive item for such a short time. New box is another $25, Winegard says you are on your own.
Very common problem with this antenna. Now in the recycling pile.
The Channel Master Pro-Model antenna is a professional-grade outdoor TV antenna designed for both commercial and residential applications. The Pro-Model outdoor TV antenna is optimized to receive all US broadcast TV frequencies, including digital, HD and NextGen TV signals.
Just finished installing my new Pro Channel Master Antenna. It replaced an old 8 bay Winegard antenna and Permacolor Pre-Amp. I used the Channel Master F-Connectors on the new cables I made for installation.
They work very well they are the compression type for RG-6 Quad Shield coax. I only used one of the zip ties supplied with the Amplify Adjustable Gain Preamplifier, in the hole that is toward the antenna I drilled a hole and attached it that way.
I set the pre-amp on the higher setting (red light showing) before it was raised because I am a little over 40 miles out from the transmitters I like to receive. With the LTE filter that comes built into the pre-amp I have NO more pixelization and all the stations, even the weakest one comes in wonderfully! The antenna itself is very well made, painted or powder coated where needed, there are plugs on all the elements including the main frame.
A very sturdy and Made In The USA product and works as well as it looks.
This is the most powerful outdoor Hdtv antenna with 20% More Gain. Range up to 150 miles. The antenna comes with a built-in rotor (motor), which can turn a full 360 degrees using the infrared remote control included in the package.
Since the antenna can be aimed in any particular direction, you will be able to pick up TV signals much better than with a regular antenna. This is the perfect solution for any rural or suburban area.
My site signal analysis from TV Fool suggested poor reception on 2 or 3 stations. I drilled a hole in a block of wood and used it as a temporary antenna base to test the operation. Set this $56 Lava HD 2605 TV antenna on a 1′ long mast out on the root cellar roof by reaching through the dining room window, and pointed the thing more or less in the direction of the transmitters the TV Fool website had mapped out.
I got 10 channels, including the OPB transmitter that is fifty miles away over several ridges. The picture is great on all of them. The only question is, how long will it last with the plastic construction? It looks like I will just leave it on the side roof which will keep it out of the sun, It also had some water in it after sitting out in the rain; this is not a water-proof design.
The CM 5020 Masterpiece Antenna Series digital HDTV antenna will receive both digital TV and HDTV programming. This heavy-duty HD television antenna picks up VHF, UHF and FM (from 54 to 216MHz and 470 to 700MHz) and has a TV antenna reception range of up to 100 miles.
This high-quality antenna is designed for extreme conditions and is easy to install. This Masterpiece Antenna is great for antenna reception markets in deep fringe areas where signal strength is weak.
As Phil Robertson would say on Duck Dynasty, “happy happy happy”, and the same goes for myself. I live on the outskirts of the Ouachita National Forest within the mountains and hills in Southeast Oklahoma and now I can receive the good TV stations from the transmitting towers from Tulsa, Oklahoma, ranging from 86 to 104 miles, putting blue bars for strength of reception, I’m very impressed.
I have this antenna matched with the Channel Master Titan 2 V3 high gain preamp amplifier and the Channel Master Ultra Mini 2 distribution amplifier for splitting to 2 TV’s. I’m also receiving the Fort Smith, Arkansas TV stations that are 67 miles to my east with my antenna pointing north, northwest toward Tulsa, overall, I’m recieving 50 channels, including the GRIT, GETTV, METV, THISTV, STARTTV, DEFYTV, COMET, QUEST, and many others.
Thank you Channel Master. I’ve tried and or wasted my money on RCA antennas and other brands of amplifiers, and wish I’d bought Channel Master from the beginning, they’re without a doubt the best.

This weatherproof antenna captures a wide range of HDTV, VHF and UHF channels up to 60+ miles from the broadcast source. Its slim, flat-panel design comes fully assembled and ready to be mounted discretely on your home’s exterior wall, under an eave or in your attic using the included hardware.
When severe weather disrupts service, stay informed with a back-up antenna for access to important local broadcasts.
When I ordered this I didn’t realize it was intended to be a outdoor antenna. That being said, there’s still many good qualities about this GE Antenna with a few notes as to why it’s okay as a indoor antenna.
Included in the box is the antenna, grommets for the predrilled holes for the screws and anchors which are provided. But, no coaxial cable which I found understandable given that it’s not known how far from the television you’ll need to install it.
They recommend in their rather short guide that it be installed under the eave of the roof. It’s black in color but that placement would make it unnoticeable. For my purposes I had only a short coaxial cable (about 3 feet long) just to be able to test this antenna.
On first scan I received 15 digital channels which actually isn’t bad for my area as I live within 15 miles of Providence Rhode Island. I find that a second scan after sunset picks up a few more and I believe that a longer coaxial cable and different placement on a outer wall will give me even more channels.
This is a lightweight non-amplified antenna that is of good quality and does the job very well. I recommend it.
This is a great solution for those that are fed up with cable companies increasing prices. This antenna allows for the basic channels (and more depending on where you are and distance from broadcast towers).
Fairly easy to assemble and install. I’d suggest doing this in the morning or maybe even at night if you have sufficient light in your attic because you’ll be up there for a bit and attics can be very hot and not well air circulated.
Need some basic tools such as drill, screwdriver, etc. Will want to do a little research in your area to see where the broadcast towers are and what direction would be best to angle the antenna.
This antenna works like a charm! You have to put it together which was not as difficult as I expected! You have to mount this antenna on a stud outside! After putting in this antenna, most every channel is about 5 of 5 bars! And I’m able to pickup an additional 10 channels! Pretty good! For cord cutters, this is the best way to go to get your locals for free! A simple way to save!! Love this antenna.

I have an off grid cabin (solar powered) on 136 acres and was wanting an antenna to get a few channels, mainly news or some sporting events, on the tv while we are there. I initially purchased an inexpensive antenna that was rectangular to be placed inside the cabin, but every single time the tv was turned off (or for absolutely no reason at all), I had to rescan for channels or re-position to get anything at all.
I decided it was time to upgrade to something a little bit more permanent and that was better quality. I am a huge fan of the GE brand and while looking at the choices in the store this was a definite front runner for me.
It comes with an instruction sheet and was not difficult to put together, took less than 5 minutes. We have a metal roof on the cabin, but my husband was easily able to secure the antenna on a pole (purchased separately).
We really are in the middle of nowhere so we had no idea which way to point the antenna, but with him on the roof and me inside scanning for channels, we were able to find the best position and get around 25 channels.
Some of the channels were ones we wouldn’t care for (old westerns, infomercials, etc) but we were super excited to get the local news.

Tips 1. dtv. gov/maps is run by the Consumer Electronics Association and the National Association of Broadcasters. The interface hasnt changed in over a decade, but its simple and the information is useful.
Please visit website and find out what channels are available in your area 2. TV Fool is more complex but gives a lot more detail including gorgeous plots of theoretical signal strength 3. Strongly recommended without obstacles such as big trees, buildings or hills.
Do not place the antenna in the basement or low-lying areas where the radio signal is very poor. 4. The actual receivable range may highly dependents on your distance and location. Areas with large obstructions such in valleys, mountains, etc.
will reduce effective range. 5. Always re-scan channels after moving the indoor antenna, the result may be better.
It’s hard to get overly excited about a digital TV antenna when you live only a few miles away from the tower. In my view, it had better work. I can see the tower from my window. Unfortunately, every one of the four antennas (from three different manufacturers) we were using gave us “scrambled station” or “no signal” responses on a handful of the popular stations.
Granted, we got virtually 95% of the 40 or 50 stations that are available, but sometimes they’d pixelate out on us while we were watching, or the station would drop out entirely. To me, it is so unforgivable to have this happen in 2022 when you live so close to a broadcast tower.
I bought two of these from WMT to avoid the shipping cost, in the hope that we’d have some success. I was pleasantly shocked. with this unit we are getting complete coverage of all stations we expect to receive and have yet to experience any pixelation issues.
We’ve been using this new unit for about 3-4 weeks now and are very pleased. I wish I had ordered two more. In case you are wondering, the hook-up with these antennas is very straightforward and is as seamless as you would imagine.
Plug and play. The only negative, I wish they had provided a base for the unit to allow for an upright mount on a table. This would allow simple rotation of the unit rather than having the unit mounted on the wall.
To me, wall mounts look tacky. A small base would allow you to set up the unit behind the TV out of sight while allowing some rotation of the device if needed.
I have tried a bunch of the flat ‘window’ antennas for the TV in my home office. None have worked without pixelating or totally dropping the signal, especially if someone moved in the room. This one is different.
I slapped it to my front porch post with Gorilla tape last fall and enjoyed amazing reception all winter long. all the more surprising because I live in a rural, heavily forested area 88 miles from a tower, according to one of the online TV transmitter locator sites.
I was so impressed with the first one I bought a second one for the second floor bedroom TV. I put the antenna outdoors on the side of the house under the roof overhang as we have pretty brutal winters.
I get 18 channels with very clear, steady reception. Likely the reception and number of channels would be even better if attached to my chimney box but I don’t think I would have enough coax cable and am not excited to scale my sharply pitched roof to find out.
I’m going to give it a year and if it continues to hold up this beautifully then Charter/Spectrum and I are done.
When my cable company dropped a particular TV station from their line-up it meant that we could no longer watch Bears games if the Lions were playing at the same time. I have tried several indoor TV antennas in the past and have never been able to get more than 4 stations — all Christian broadcasting.
Kinda out of desperation I spotted this antenna on sale and since it was advertised as an indoor/outdoor antenna and had a 30′ cable I figured I’d give it a shot. Indoors, the same result. I hooked it up to a 16′ pole and placed it outdoors.
The result was 26 channels. We are right at that 60-mile advertised range of the antenna but we got ‘clear as a bell’ HD reception of the game. We now have a plan B when our cable provider does not show a Bears game.
Enhance your TV viewing experience with the Channel Master CM-2018 Antenna. It is an outdoor TV antenna that allows you to receive UHF, High VHF, FM and HD signals. The outdoor TV antenna can receive VHF signals up to a range of 60 miles and will pick up available local channels, 7 to 13.
For UHF, it has a signal range of 45 miles and will pick up channels, 14 to 69. If you have an HD TV, it helps transmit HD signals broadcasted in your locality. The digital broadcast TV antenna is made of heavy-duty aluminum and UV stabilized plastics for reliable performance.
The HD TV antenna has got a compact design for easy portability lower visibility when installed.
Because we live in “The Lightning Capital of the US,” (central FL), I didn’t want to mount an antenna outside. We are 45 miles from our market’s tower farm and since I was mounting in the attic, I also am using the Channel Master “Amplify Adjustable Gain Preamplifier.
” Through no fault of this antenna, I am not receiving any VHF signals (2-13), because our new house has a metallic radiant barrier on the bottom of the roof decking — the whole attic is shielded. Without getting technical, due to wavelength physics UHF gets through the barrier and VHF does not — at least this far away.
But even with the barrier I am getting excellent UHF reception. I tested reception with no amplifier and with the amplifier’s 2 variable settings. The amp makes a huge difference. I am using the +30dB high setting.
As a retired broadcast engineer, I know that if the metallic barrier was not on our roof decking, I’d be receiving all the metro VHF’s as well. We’re using streaming apps for the “big 3” networks (VHF) that we cannot receive OTA.
TIP: Check Channel Master’s Outlet on Ebay for a preamp if you want that. I bought mine “reconditioned/open box” and saved a bundle.

This Rocketfish long-range outdoor antenna arrives with all hardware need for mounting to roofs, walls, poles or other surfaces. Compatible with most HDTVs For simple operation with your existing television.
Up to 60-mile reception range Ensures a clean, clear signal. 25′ coaxial RF cable Permits flexible placement.
This gives good reception in the Laurel Highlands 50 miles east to stations in Pittsburgh. I do not have it mounted high due to HOA restrictions so it’s ground level outdoors on the small patio. We are 2700 feet in elevation so maybe that helps.
We do get some video tearing but I get the local news. The mounting hardware on the back of the antenna very innovative. I have two of these at the resort The only draw back if any is that it does not use a USB power injector but if one goes bat you can get a power injector on the internet.
I had one go bad and I used a USB injector from an old Mohu and it worked. Remember these are power injectors and not an amplifier. The amplifier is in the body of the antenna.
Bought this antenna a while back, and recently installed. Picture was MUCH better than expected, even through some evergreens. Unfortunately the inline amplifier tanked after a week, and neither Best Buy nor Rocketfish were responsive.
Bought an amplifier from Amazon, plugged it in, and it works great. This antenna is definitely worth the money and the effort of providing your own tech support. Bye bye cable guy.
Interesting testing out the Rocketfish RF-ANT50UD Amplified Outdoor TV Antenna. I started with it inside by a window connected to our kitchen TV without the amplifier. It pulled in only 4 channels vs 10-15 with our indoor antenna.
Next I slid it out the window and tied it to our gazebo frame: same 4 channels. Next set it on top of the roof: same 4 channels. Then I plugged in the amplifier and it grabbed 60 channels less about 10 that were not strong enough.
Was it just the amplifier? I hooked the amplifier up to our indoor antenna and it did not help, but it sure helps the outdoor one. So now that I know it will help, I tried it placed on the roof on the other end of the house, this time plugged (with amplifier) into our house cable wiring.
Only 40 channels this time. I don’t know if it’s the location (now behind a tree) or pushing the signal through two splitters and 4-5 coax lines, most 10-15+ years old. I suspect the wiring is the problem.
Anyway, the stations it does get include all our local stations that we wanted and couldn’t get well with 3 different powered and unpowered indoor antennas. I deducted a star because it’s only pulling in 30-40 mile or less range not the higher 40-60 advertised, however, that may be entirely our location.
All were low on the roof, not the peak, and final location is about three feet up on a side eaves behind a tree. Works well enough for us. The more distant stations tend to be a repeat of the locals (a second NBC, etc.
There are a number of factors to consider when choosing the best long range TV antenna for your needs. The first is the distance from the broadcast towers. If you live in an area that is relatively close to the towers, you may be able to get by with a smaller antenna.
However, if you live in a rural area or are trying to receive signals from a large city, you will need a larger antenna.
Another factor to consider is the type of terrain between you and the broadcast towers. If there are a lot of hills and trees, you will need an antenna that can receive signals from multiple directions.
Indoor antennas will not work well in these conditions.
Finally, you need to consider the type of TV you want to watch. If you are only interested in local channels, you can get by with a smaller antenna. However, if you want to watch cable or satellite TV, you will need a larger antenna.
The best long range TV antenna for your needs will depend on a number of factors. Take the time to consider all of the options before making your final decision.
