The PetSafe Deluxe Crystal Litter Box System is an innovative litter box that is designed to work specifically with crystal litter. At the beginning of the month, simply fill the box with one bag of PetSafe Premium Crystal Litter.
As your cat uses the box, the crystal litter will absorb urine and dehydrate solid waste to control odours. The tray is lined with an absorbent pee pad that acts as an extra layer of protection catching any urine that the crystal litter does not immediately absorb.
Vents along the underside of the litter box encourage airflow beneath the crystal litter to extend the life and freshness of the litter. Use the included scoop to dispose of solid waste daily, and the anti-tracking grid on the front of the litter box will keep litter inside the box and off your floor.
One bag of crystal litter will last up to one month in a single cat household. Simply empty the box at the end of the month, clean it out and refill with another bag of crystal litter for another month of unbeatable odour control.

My cat is on the larger side for cats. He isn’t a fat cat, he is just very large and muscular. Because my cat is a bit bigger, it also means everything else he does is bigger too (If you know what I mean).
That being said, I’m constantly looking for litter boxes and litter that just make the job easier for me to clean up after my adorable fuzzy friend. I felt that the PetSafe Deluxe Crystal Litter Box System was a decent system.
The litter box itself is a standard box but it has odor control vents on the sides as well as holes on the bottom under where the litter goes with a tray to add a pad to soak the excess cat urine. The litter box also features an anti tracking surface at the entrance of the litter box.
The litter system also comes with perfectly portioned bag of PetSafe Crystal Litter for the box. Prior to using this system I had only used traditional clumping cat litter and was not used to using the Crystal Litter.
I have found that the Crystal litter is pretty good at catching moisture from my cats solids, however most of the urine seems to end up in the bottom wet pad. Crystal Litter is also supposed to be better at odor control, however since the Crystals don’t seem to catch most of the urine, there is a large urine odor that comes from the box after approximately 1 week.
I do understand my cat is bigger, however the company states that the litter system only needs daily solid scooping before needing to change the pad and litter after approximately one month for a single cat.
As for the box itself, I wish the litter box was larger because it is quite cramped for my cat. My cat also doesn’t use the anti tracking surface as he just jumps right over the side so the litter crystals end up on the floor anyways but I did not deduct points for crystals being on the floor because I’m already pretty used to that after owning cats my whole life! I would, however prefer that instead of the anti tracking surface (since it doesn’t seem to be used at all) the box was bigger so my cat would have more room to do his business comfortably.
Overall, If this litter box was larger, it would be pretty standard as a litter box and I would recommend it to people looking for a litter box for their cat.
PetSafe Deluxe Crystal Litter Box System It took a few days to convince my cats to use a new litter box, but once they did, they really liked the PetSafe deluxe crystal cat litter box system. The cat litter is made of crystals and it’s so unique in appearance.
I found that interesting, and I was really happy when I realized that it scoops away easily, too. I also thought it was helpful that the litter box came with everything I needed to set it up and use it, including the pad for the slide-out tray underneath the ventilation grid, a bag of crystal cat litter, and a scoop with a little adhesive-backed hook for mounting.
Since I have more than one cat, I expect to change the littler more often than the recommended once a month for single-cat homes. My favorite feature so far is that I haven’t noticed any odor whatsoever after my cats use the crystal litter box system.
The pad that slides into a thin tray under the grate that holds the litter is another feature I thought was kind of cool and different. It catches the few droplets of liquid waste that filter through before the crystal cat litter can absorb it, so the pad can be tossed and replaced.
While I haven’t had to change mine yet, I think it’s nice that there’s an extra way to ensure there aren’t any odors from the litter box, and it seems to work because I haven’t noticed any smell from it.
The directions said to get rid of solid waste every day if using the box for a single cat, but with more than one cat, I do check the litter box a couple of times a day to make sure it stays fresh smelling.
Having the little scoop mounted right there on the side of the box makes it super easy to keep up with cleaning it. One last thing I really appreciate about the PetSafe deluxe crystal cat litter box is the grid on the front edge that catches the bits of cat litter my cats pick up in their toes, so they don’t track litter all over the floor.
Bought in July and have had to purchase 5 litter boxes due to inefficent box design. Had to buy 5 replacement boxes since bought in July to November. Clumps up in end where fecal matter is to be stored so rake does ot distribute crystal evenly.
Crystals cling to cat’s feet and distribute throughout house. Had to separate food and water dishes from product to avoid crystals getting into them. Rather an expensive trial for 4 months use. Would not buy again.

I have 5 indoor cats and am constantly dealing with litter boxes. These are fantastic. There’s nothing I hate more than having to scrub out litter boxes. The liners are nothing short of miraculous. Two of my cats insist on clearing away the litter and peeing directly into an empty spot in the back corner.
It used to be that the pee would stick to the plastic and then crumble all over the place when I tried to scoop it away. With the liners, the pee just literally pops right off the sidewall. I bought my first ModKat box 3 months ago ( I now have 6!!) and I still haven’t had to change out the liner or the litter.
The liner looks as new as the day I bought it and I just have to add fresh litter to the box every few days. The litter has stayed clean and the dreaded pee crumbles are no more. The boxes are outrageously expensive, but as you can tell, I feel they will be worth it in the long run.
The amount of money I save on litter is huge (especially with 5 cats) because the litter stays clean longer. And the best part is that I will no longer have to scrub out 6 litter boxes every month in my bathtub.
(Gross) Just swap out the liner and I’m good to go. I know the liners are spendy as well, but so far they look like they will last much longer than I thought. All of my cats have claws and the liners seem impervious to their scratching.
I suspect I will be able to go 6 months on the liners without issue. I only have 2 small complaints – not really complaint, more of a suggestion… The scoop handles have empty spaces on the top, so when you are scooping, these spaces collect litter.
Then when you dump the scoop contents into a bag, the litter falls out of these little spaces which creates a bit of a mess. I don’t see the reason for these empty spaces other than to save on plastic.
If these empty spaces were on the bottom of the scoop and not on the top, the problem would be solved. Another little improvement to the box would be the lid. The design is great, but could use some tweaking.
When you tip the lid upward so you can get into the box for scooping, it’s sometimes difficult to get the lid positioned back into place. The little pivot points can be a little finicky – when you tip the lid back flat and try to slide it forward, either the front edge of the lid gets stuck under the frame edge or the little pivot points get out of alignment causing the lid to sit cockeyed.
I seem to fight with this about 50% of the time. Minor issues, but if fixed, would be an improvement. Otherwise, I love these boxes – they look great, my cats like them and they make my life a lot easier! Buy one and give it a try.
I own a Modkat Flip Litter Box, which I absolutely love! But recently, my doggo… a spunky, 2. 5 year old mini Aussie… has figured out that the litter box contains poopsie treats. And she can fit her head into the opening and help herself until she’s consumed all she can find.
I can’t seem to scoop fast enough. You can imagine, as a hooman owner, whose face is often kissed by this doggo, the utter disgust and terror such kisses bring after these snacks. :/ She had to be stopped! And a Modkat XL Top Entry Configurable Litter Box was the solution to my problem! Of course it had to be another Modkat.
They’re smartly designed, sleek, and remarkably durable. The liners are heavy duty and make changing litter as simple as dumping it into a bin and putting the liner back into the litter box. So easy! I’ll never use another litter box system again.
My kitty boy is only 6 months old and already very large, so it had to be the XL box. Additionally, I like the option of being able to switch back to front entry… if my doggo could ever be broken of this horrid habit.
Are Modkat litter boxes expensive? Well, you get what you pay for: a brilliantly engineered litter box, with consciously designed details, which will make owning a cat (and a dog like mine) a lot more manageable… and from a super respectable company.
They are worth every penny, ten times over!.
I needed a top opening litter box because I just can’t keep my maltese (who is arguably smaller than the cat) out of the litter box without elaborately barricading it in a way she could still get in.
I was so so nervous to make the switch, fearing it would take her a few days to take to it – the instructions say to remove the old box entirely so I was terrified that meant she would find another location in my apartment to do her business.
I followed the directions exactly, as well as consulted another one that had similar but more detailed steps – lo and behold she figured it out within the hour. I chuckled to myself previously reading other people’s reviews about how smart their cats were to figure it out – “how silly!” I thought – but when I heard her scratching away in there, I understood immediately.
My cat is a genius, she is going to Harvard, she will cure cancer. It’s an awesome products and must be pretty intuitive for cats. My only issue, and it’s not Modkat’s fault, is that I opted for the XL because she’s just over 12 lbs and I was afraid the standard would be too small for her.
The XL truly is large – it’s a pretty big space taker for my small apartment. But I can see where it would be fantastic for larger cats – she has plenty of room to get in and out. Maybe one day once I’ve gotten some good use out of this one, I’ll try the smaller one and see if her tubby butt can get through.
Buy modkat!.

Reviews From Real Customers
I hate reviews like this, but I think if done correctly they can maybe help people kind of understand challenges that they might face or situations that they might not have thought of. Before we get any further, if you have more than one cat this system will both cost more and be more work than just a regular clay litter system.
I say this because the only way to make it where you’re not replacing the cat pads every 2-3 days is by having more than one litter box which just doesn’t add up to being a positive investment because now you have to also buy double of everything.
Chronologically, my issues came up as so: 1. TL;DR This will be a continuous training effort that will probably just never stick. TBH, I have one fairly new cat and they just straight up prefer the clay litter.
The instructions say that if you let the cat litter box get dirty enough they’ll prefer the cleaner breeze option, but that just never seemed to really work. And then, after I even threw out the old cat litter box because it had already been about a month my newest cat decided that he would just rather use the restroom wherever he pleased if there were no clay litter box.
2. I guess my cats poop is just really stinky because basically nothing would get rid of the horrible smell. I even tried the extra strength pellets, but at some point I would just get a whiff of cat poo.
I think the biggest issue is that in some cases the pellets just don’t have that same coverage ability so there’s really no way to stop odors from coming out. I think the solution to this is probably inferred to be that you need to get rid of the poop immediately, but I work long hours so that’s just not possible.
I’m not going to sit there and wait / watch for when my cat poo. 3. The cat pads were actually a pretty stellar thing; however, the cost ratio just doesn’t work. I think it works for the one cat situation, but even then it seems like as if I would of had to replace my cat pads every two days to really keep that area clean.
Overall, I like the idea of this product. However, for my specific situation outlined in the examples above, this product did not meet expectations and also caused a lot more hassle.
I cannot recommend this highly enough. I was worried it was overhyped/just marketing, but this is fantastic and absolutely lives up to the marketing. My room, the area around the litter box, and my cat herself have never been cleaner.
My cat tracks litter EVERYWHERE, and with this box I clean up little pellets maybe once a week (instead of multiple times a day) and it’s so much easier to clean. My cat has kidney issues and drinks a lot of water, so I change the pad on the bottom more frequently than once a week, but it’s the easiest thing ever to clean.
I don’t dread cleaning at all, it almost makes me pleased to think about how easy and quick it is to clean. The parts all work well together and I haven’t had any issues, and it’s simple to put together and take apart when I want to do a deep clean.
The plastic is treated with some kind of waterproofing, so even if there are any leaks (which there haven’t been), it wouldn’t make the whole box smell terrible forever. I do find that to fill up the box to my cat’s satisfaction, I use about double the recommended 3.
5lbs, but the bigger bags are cheaper anyway. I did the math and for me the pads and pellets are cheaper than what I was spending on litter before, but even if they weren’t, it would be worth the extra cost.
My cat had no trouble whatsoever adjusting to the new box. My one warning: if you have a very old cat and/or one with mobility issues, make sure to check the height. It’s lower than a standard stair step, but is definitely a bit more raised than a standard litter box.
Design-wise, there is also a lip on the entrance side of the box that gets in the way of her moving around inside the box a little bit sometimes, I think that could be removed/sized down or adjusted, but it has not been a significant issue in any way.
I don’t know why anyone with a cat isn’t using this system already. Seriously, if you’re thinking about it, or even if you’re not, put it in your cart immediately. You will not regret it!.
*The litter is actually low dust, so I no longer sneeze ever time I have to scoop litter. Clay litter always had enough dust to aggravate my asthma or make me sneeze when I worked around the box. Not to mention the weird natural clay smell that clay litters have and don’t get me started on how bad scented clay litters would stick in my nose.
The Breeze pellets do have a faint scent, kind of like a bag of driveway/garden gravel or sand for a sand box. I only notice it when I’m scooping/changing pellets. *This box saves so much time! Since urine flows through the pellets to the pad below, all you have to scoop is poo.
This means I can shift the litter in just a scoop or two, which is a huge game changer when you have to keep an eye on your kids (mine is 1). The pad is quick and easy to change when needed every 3-7 days (depending how many cats you have).
*The litter is actually no track! My Breeze litter box is in an awkward tight space in the back corner besides the couch, because my kitten decided that was a great place to do her business during litter training when she was really young.
Since we have a multi level home, we had decided that maybe she needed a box on each story of the house as is suggested (wasn’t a problem for my previous cat). Well, as you may’ve guessed it’s not easy to vacuum tracked clay litter out of the carpet in such a tight and awkward space.
The Breeze has saved me quite a headache, because the pellets don’t track and aren’t easily kicked out of the pan. My cat isn’t a heavy litter kicker to begin with but always had a mess of clay litter around her old box, but now I just have the occasional pellet to pick off the floor n’ toss back in the box.
So another example of how this box will save you maintenance time. *Does control odor! As mentioned my Breeze sits next to my couch, but my guests can’t smell it, even while sitting on the couch side that’s right next to it! The pads do a great job of locking in urine odor and the pungent, burning smell of urine has always been the worst part of cleaning a traditional litter box for me.
The pads are very absorbent; never had an issue with urine soaking through them or going around it in the tray. The pellets do seem to dry pretty fast as well (I do lightly stir mine daily), so I haven’t noticed any lingering ammonia smell on/in the pellets, which is awesome! Traditional clumping litters would always have tiny, impossible to scoop, bits of urine soaked clay that would mix throughout the box and make the whole thing always smell.
To me that’s what always left a traditional litter box smelling, not the BM. That brings me to the Breeze and how it handles the solid waste. It doesn’t hide the odor at all, not that I felt any of my unscented clay or wheat/corn pellet litters ever did much to hide it either.
The Breeze pellets, however, I feel do indeed dry it out faster as it’s advertised. This means it doesn’t smell fresh for as long. I just scoop the box once a day, as is the recommendation with any type of litter or box and as I mentioned I can fool guests into thinking I don’t have a cat unless they see her because they don’t smell her box anymore.
I think the bag of pellets will actually last longer than a month since they’ve been drying nicely and not many stick to the solids. *As far as quality goes, the plastic feels pretty average for a litter box.
The plastic on one side of my box was slightly warped, so it did take some extra effort to get the white guard to line up with it and snap onto the green box properly. However, the guard isn’t something that should ever need removed and put back on, so no big deal.
The guard does have a recessed groove so it sits down over the rim of the litter pan on both the inside and outside. This means there’s no seam where a cat may pee out through, which is a common issue with other guarded/hooded regular litter boxes, especially for male cats.
The tray underneath does slide smoothly straight out/in; be careful not to twist or jam it by opening/closing it at an angle as I think over time the tray would warp if you did that a lot. I do want to talk about the litter scoop a moment.
I absolutely love that it hangs off the back of the guard, so I don’t have to worry about spreading bacteria to surfaces around the litter box and I always know where it it (no more moving around stuff to figure out where I put the scoop this time).
*My kitten took to the box pretty quickly. I put it exactly where 1 of her traditional boxes where so she already knew that the box was in X spot. I didn’t have to mix her old litter in or anything and she hasn’t ever used a pelleted litter before.
She does scratch around in it a lot after going, like she’s frustrated that she can’t bury her business even though she’s never been great about bury it in her old clay litter. She wouldn’t do a #2 in it at first, but seems to be getting more use to it by the day (only had it 2 weeks as of this review) and now uses it fully.
I plan to buy another one to replace the remaining traditional clay litter box that’s upstairs too. *Overall, I feel that the quicker regular maintenance of the box and no longer needing to constantly vacuum around the litter box, combined with it’s level of odor control is worth the extra money spent monthly on the special litter and the pads.
If you need to save some cash look into washable fabric absorbent puppy training pads that are small for use in carries or I’ve heard the system works well to sift out crumpled wheat/corn pellet bedding when you stir the litter.
Odor control will be best using the Breeze products designed for it though. May not be economical for a house with more than 2-3 cats, however, the Breeze is cheaper than similar litter systems and easier to find refills for too.

I could of just bought the steel box without the guards for approx $20 less (yet the guards are still necessary). The pricey plastic sides to keep litter in box has small gaps (between the steel n plastic), bit flimsy when placed on, and have to be careful when scooping by removing the litter guard.
Dust escaping when in felines use from the top (obviously) and from the gaps. In my opinion, if they made the whole entire box hooded (and not just the sides), all from connecting steel, that wld of been the ticket!!! <--- Hope the maker reads that.
Anyhoot, other than that, this (1) extra large steel box is easy to clean, (2) will never obsorb odors, and (3) will last YOUR lifetime of uses. That in itself is (4) saving you approximately $50 a year from any newer bacterial smelly-over-time plastic versions out there.
Plz consider that I (we) purchased 2 of these many months ago to give it a fair review for other folks, including self. Going to buy 1 more for another room at home now, and will Never, Ever look (nor buy) at any other litter pan other than this one.
Great box, contains boy cat spray within and has significantly reduced odor in house. Also helps that it is a stainless steel box because no matter what, eventually plastic holds odor. I’m a cat owner for over 40 years and this is the BEST all around box EVER.
Full disclosure, I do love the litter robot but despite all enticements, three of my five cats will not go in it so this is the next best thing. It arrives packaged incredibly well so there’s no dents in the pan or warping of plastic top shield.
I think you can tell a lot about a company by their attention to packing detail and these people are on top of every detail. Top plastic fits well. TIP: I use one black binder clip ~1. 5″ wide on each side to secure the top plastic shield to the pan so there’s no movement which potentially could scare a cat.
I’m in love with this litterbox. I have 3 cats and 3 litterboxes and this is now my favorite one to scoop just because of how convenient it is. With plastic litterboxes and clumping litter, it would stick to the sides and the bottom and the scooper would make the clumps break off into tinier pieces as I tried to dislodge them.
Clumps come off so easily from the stainless steel of this box! I already know when it comes time to clean the whole box that it’ll be a quick and easy job. The price might seem high but it’ll save you some stress when it comes to daily maintenance and scooping.
Eventually I plan to replace the other 2 plastic litterboxes with another one of these.

Reviews From Real Customers
I originally found this litter box decades ago and have loved it ever since. Throughout the years, it has been used by many cats of all ages, from kittens to our current cat that’s 21 years old. ————— I originally bought it to reduce the amount of litter that was being tracked onto the floor (we use a non-clumping clay litter).
I was instantly pleased with how well this litter box worked and has continued to work ever since. It has all but eliminated the litter on our floor. ————— One of the things I like best about this litter box is its durability.
It’s made out of a rubbery plastic material that has never cracked or bowed, the lid has always fit well, and it continues to look great. I love that there are no clips to break. Every few years, I give it a thorough scrubbing with Bar Keepers Friend, brushes, and a magic eraser, and aside from a few dings here and there, it looks like new all over again.
Thick 3 mil 42 gallon trash bags work well as liners which are much stronger against digging claws, saves money, and eliminates the dependency of needing special brand name liners. ————— There is a warning to not use this litter box with elderly cats.
I didn’t know this and just kept using it as our current cat got older. I have offered her other litter boxes with easier entries, but she refuses to use them. She can still jump onto chairs and couches without effort which probably helps.
For many years, she has used a Rubbermaid step stool that I store next to the litter box which may also help. I will continue to monitor how easily she can get in and out and will switch to something else if needed.
————— I recommend this litter box very highly. It greatly reduces the amount of litter that gets tracked onto the floor, prevents urine from getting sprayed out the side entry or leaking along the seams of a domed lid style litter box, has no clips to attach the lid that can break, is extremely durable, and cleans up very well.
This is truly the last litter box you’ll ever need to buy.
This litter box lid is great at catching stray litter that clings to either the kitties’s paws (3 cats – 4 different litter boxes) or behinds as they exit the litter box. It’s sturdy, not falling over.
Fantastic for kitties that devote more time to pawing at the litter box sides when they’ve finished their business than actually answering mother nature’s call. I just gave this litter box away because it was really tough to wrestle off the lid when it was time to scoop and clean it.
I wouldn’t deduct one star because of a persnickety kitty, that’s not the fault of the design. I would and did deduct one star because of the unfriendly wrestling off of the lid that happened on the regular.
I’d lift one corner, then another, and then two other sides locked on to their opposite sides and it was a wrestling match that I never won, just to scoop and clean. And believe me, I tried all kinds of methods and directions to easily lift off this lid.
Just became an annoyance that I didn’t want to fuss with any longer. I have another brand of top entry litter box which allows the lid to easily be popped off with just one hand, and without wrestling with it with both hands and unequal leveraging too.
I’ll stick with that. If this company makes the lid easier to take off, with just one hand, this might be an ideal top entry design.
When I adopted Feliks in Oct. 2021, I have had a “devil of a time” finding the right litter box. He is a “digger & a thrower”. I had a hooded litter box- he threw the litter out the door – I obtained a high entry litter box – he still managed to throw it out the door.
All I was doing was sweeping up litter all of the time. I was exasperated as to what to do. I finally tried this Top-Entry Litter Box and the problem has been solved! He took to it right away. I set a low child size wood chair next to it in case he felt it was too high.
I have very little litter mess – it’s on the large mat underneath the litterbox (where it should be) and not all over the floor. It is a bit difficult to clean because it is big & deep – I take it out in the yard and use the garden hose or clean it with disinfecting wipes.
I’m just happy that the problem is resolved!.

Omega Paw Self-Cleaning Litter Box | Medium |
Reviews From Real Customers
Do not roll it completely upside down, as that sometimes causes the grate to come loose from the bottom. I’ve learned this from experience. Roll it nearly upside down, pound on the bottom to get the clumps loose, roll it back right side up and then a bit to the left to get the clean litter back into the main section.
I have three cats so need to clean the box at least twice a day. “Self-cleaning” is a bit of a misnomer, as it needs a little help from you–it “cleans itself” but only if you roll it over. In other words, it “scoops itself”.
So in that way I prefer this litter box to having to do the scooping myself. Scooping it yourself gets it cleaner than rolling it, but rolling is good enough for me and my cats. Pros: quick and easy to roll over and collect the clumps in the scoop; all you have to do is dump the scoop.
(Note that you need to bang on the bottom of it when it’s rolled over to get some of the clumps to let loose from the bottom. ) Generally keeps the smell inside the litter box. Some people have had trouble with the clips, but they all work well for me as long as you have the top and bottom lined up correctly.
Cons: the scoop is an inch shorter than it used to be for the large box, and therefore sometimes doesn’t collect the clumps at the back of the box, so I tip it slightly forward before completing the roll over.
Why did they shorten it an inch? My theory is that they wanted to manufacture just one size scoop for both the large and regular boxes, and if so, it’s a stupid decision for the large box.
I have a bad back and scooping litter is really hard on me. This box is a great concept, but a failure in its execution. I’d love for this company to work on these details and make their concept actually work well.
The “roll n clean” concept has 3 essential components: the grate, the hood, and the “poop drawer. ” But the grate doesn’t snap into place tightly, and every couple of rolls it comes out of place, requiring me to put on gloves and plunge my hands into dirty litter to reposition.
GROSS. Likewise the latches that secure the hood to the litterbox are difficult to fasten, and it seems only a matter of time before they break. And finally the poop drawer fits into its slot so poorly, you’d think it wasn’t made to go there.
Did they give me the right part? Yes, it’s just really shoddily made. This is where all the clumps of poop are going, and you don’t want it falling open and leaking (which it does, frequently). Again, if these components were improved it would be a great idea.
However, I will also add that my kittens come out of this box smelling poopy, even if they haven’t pooped. I think they are rubbing against the hood, which catches all the clumps when you roll it, and sometimes ends up with poop stuck to it.
This is very unpleasant. Maybe the hood should be higher and made of a nonstick material?.
I got a new cat from a shelter 2 days ago and looked for all the new gimmicky items I couldn’t afford before. Found this and thought how unique! Its 3:30 in the am, couldn’t sleep, so up putting this together, cleaning his food bowl, etc.
Well, I might still be tired, and addled brained, but some things don’t make sense, so I am sending it back. 1. ) no handle on top, difficult to pick up with sharp plastic to grip 2. ) plastic will be flimsy over time, why its so sharp 3.
) When you roll it over onto its right side, the used particles are supposed to fall thru vent into disposable cup. Well, now, cup distends down from roof, vent system is below it, and the used litter is underneath it.
Smart design, huh? 4. ) Read all the comments, and disagreed with the 4 or 5 star reviews, someone must be kidding themselves. I have had 50 years of experience with cats and littler boxes, from dirt in a cardboard box, don’t attemt by the way, to the last, the electric sweeper, spent over $100 for my last cat, till she peed in the trench, which made the clay become like cement, and nothing except TNT would have gotten it out, along with the plastic sides!! So now I am going to look over the market and see what other new ideas have emerged in the past 15 years.
Wish me luck!!!.

This is without a doubt the best littler box I’ve owned over 40 years of using litter boxes. Like many other cat parents, I was tiring of constantly sweeping up tracked litter from a regular box which happens even with a rug or mat in front.
I remembered a friend trying a top entry litter box years ago with success. This one looked attractive and since I also wanted to move the litter box to the bathroom, I decided to try this one. But how to do that since cat’s don’t like change? Well when it arrived I put it in it’s new location in the bathroom empty, Cats are curious so my kitty couldn’t resist exploring it by climbing in/out several times, After a couple of days I added litter–a new curiosity to kitty! I had washed the box before putting it down empty so now I added a bag of fresh litter, topping it off with a couple cups full of litter from his old box.
I didn’t completely block entry to his old box but put stuff near enough to make it harder to get to it than the new box. Before long I noticed he’d used the new box. At that point I took up the old box.
Neither of us have looked back. He seems to like climbing into the box and sometimes sits on it when mommie uses her potty or takes a shower! The opening is large enough to scoop out waste without taking off the top each time.
It is so much easier to scoop that I now take care of that chore every time he uses it. It comes with a cute matching scoop which hangs on the side of the box which I have facing the wall. So final points: very little, actually almost.
no litter outside box. It is attractive and doesn’t even look like a litter box. The one thing to note is that the first time the top is installed, one does have to manipulate it around some (it probably is not out of line if it is difficult).
Once manipulated into place the first time then when lifted to dump litter caught on top it goes back into place easily. Another thing to consider is that completely full of water it is heavy and hard to empty so when washing, just fill half full.
Many new objects have a breaking in period but I do not have one complaint or negative to offer about this litter box. I love it!.
I wanted to upgrade the litter box in our living room to something that was more aesthetically pleasing, but still functional and affordable. Our cat is comfortable with hooded litter boxes and is fine with enclosed spaces, so we figured this was worth a shot.
It is well constructed; I didn’t have any issues with the pieces not fitting like some other reviewers. My 11lb tabby is comfortable getting in and out of this litter box, and just hanging out in it, but he definitely prefers his standard you-can-get-it-anywhere litter box with the attached hood.
He will still use this one so I don’t regret buying it. I think he would prefer something where he can sit upright anywhere in the box, not just in the hole where he can comfortably squat while doing his business.
This is the MEDIUM size, the additional height of the large size may have been better for him. The width and length work for him though.

I have 3 cats. I used to use Rubbermaid high sided litter boxes. The cats had a huge tendency to pee as soon as their backsides were in the box which led to a lot of buildup of clumps at the walls. Although I do get some clumps sticking to the sides of the Luuups, they are easily nudged off with a rounded scoop – no digging them off as I used to do with the old boxes.
Even though my old boxes were very high sided, the cats still managed to fling litter out of the boxes. I do get some sift-through with the Luuup boxes. But I use a little trick to reduce sift through to almost zero.
I have 3 sets. I lift & sift the top tray of set 1 and place it on the floor. I place the stack of set 2 on top of this single tray which means it’s now a stack of 4. I then lift & sift the top tray of set 2 (which leaves a stack of 3 behind) and place the tray on the floor.
Repeat with set 3 and then place the 2 remaining trays of set 1 in the last tray on the floor. I have even considered buying another set of Luuup trays so I can have 3 sets of 4 trays each. It takes only the gentlest of taps for most of the loose litter to sift through which makes the whole process relatively quick and easy.
If I don’t put in enough litter (filled almost to the top before the green rim goes on), I get a lot more stuck clumps and sift-through. Overall I’m pleased with the purchase and am considering purhasing more as my cats are older and have more difficulty getting up and down the stairs to the boxes in the basement.
So, yeah, I have the same problems many folks have indicated but, with 3 cats, it is still way fewer problems than I used to have. Sweeping up a little bit of litter and nudging a few lumps is a lot less work than I used to do.
I use Blue Naturally Fresh Multi-Cat Quick Clumping litter made from walnut shells and it works great in these pans.
I finally decided to buy this after wanting it ever since the kick starter. I wish I hadn’t waited so long. It does have its draw backs, but it’s still worth it. Some reason my cats have decided to start digging to the bottom with this litter box when they never have before.
Obviously this isn’t the fault of the litter box. I tried all of the litters recommend, plus some. Slide and Tidy Cats litters are the only ones that worked well because of the digging. It’s unfortunate because I wanted to start using a more eco friendly litter such as The World’s Best Cat litter or Shweat Scoop.
They both would have worked fine if my cats did not dig so much. Another issue is that my cats are now kicking litter everywhere and that litter gets in-between the green/blue side and the rims of the 3 trays.
I find everytime I go to clean it there is litter all of the rims, along with all over my floor. Once again that is my cats fault, but a lot of the mess could be solved with a cover, which I am eagerly waiting for.
Dealing with the messes from all 3 boxes all over my floors along with having to wipe down the sifted tray afterwards takes up more time than it did with my old boxes (the sifting is obviously faster than the scooping was).
It’s completely worth it because they keep my house smelling fresher and they aren’t an eye sore like most other ones are. My newest cat also loves lounge and sleep in them when they are freshly cleaned.

A friend recommended this system to me almost 5 years ago, and I have never went back. I only have one cat, but this is the most easy breezy type system I’ve ever dealt with. It is expensive, and normally I will buy the cheapest in most things wanting to save money.
But this just makes my life so much easier as it is not messy. If pellets come out you just put them back in the system. With one cat my pellet bag lasts for several months. I’ve heard of people reusing them and I believe boiling them, but I have no interest in doing that extra step since I’m a mom and already doing too much.
Each pad last several weeks for me. Basically, whenever I start smelling urine it’s time to change either the pellets or the pads and that’s how I know. However, once in a great while I don’t smell it at all and I went too long without changing the pad and some urine can leak.
I’ve tried generic pellets as well as pads and they don’t hold a candle to these. Recently there was some sort of supply issue where I couldn’t find refills anywhere even in my local stores or online and I had to buy generic and it was a terrible experience.
The pads were not big enough and you could smell urine immediately. My cat has no complaints, and I’m sure he’s happier not having a bunch of litter stuck in his paws. The pellets are dangerous, though, so you need to be careful your dogs are not getting in here.
I have a very strict home with multiple dog gates so they cannot get in here since they could choke on these pellets. Hopefully they don’t raise the price anymore since it’s already expensive to buy these systems and the refills but I’m really happy with them.

Reviews From Real Customers
I purchased three of these. One arrived broken during transit, which was replaced, thank you Pet Circle. The first thing my cats did when I set them up was tip them over by jumping on the high sides.
Then there was tofu, bentonite and cat poop all over the floor for me to hastily clean up before leaving for work that morning, and again when I returned. The cats got used to not doing that after a while, but there have been several repeat performances including one earlier today, which prompted me to write the review.
The only way to stop this is to wedge it between other heavy things or put a heavy weight doorstop or rock inside it in the middle to weight it down, especially if using a lightweight litter like tofu.
The size of the box is good, and when the cats don’t knock it over, the litter stays mostly in the tray. But I think they deliberately knock it over to play with the litter all over the floor. The baby bath-like shape isn’t as easy to scoop out with a square shovel scoop as the rectangular trays and it’s about the same to wash.
All-in-all, I ended up purchasing some large rectangular hooded trays which work better because they can jump on top of the hood and not be able to knock the tray over, and they’re easy to scoop with a square shovel scoop.
These tubs I may have to disinfect and repurpose for washing cats and cat toys instead.
I bought this litter box on impulse at (of all places) a thrift store. It was super cheap and I needed another litter box for my multi cat household. The cats seemed to like it fine. Because it’s oval, it’s actually a little smaller than similar sized rectangle boxes.
Here’s the thing, though. Because it’s oval it’s really hard to clean with a litter scopp that has a straight edge. My kitties would pee, and the pee would harden the litter along the edge of the box.
But unlike a box with straight edges, I couldn’t scrape the scoop straight down the side, or come at it straight across. Instead I would have to use the side of the scoop to break the clumps away from the edge and then scoop it out.
It was inefficient and because I had to break the clumps it got dirty more quickly than my other boxes. I’ve moved it outside now to help with a gutter that overflows, and it does a decent job moving water away from the house.
But I would not recommend it for a litter box for your cats.
The blue color is pretty, it’s light weight and easy to move around. The floor space it takes is smaller then I was hoping. I have a natural healthy larger cat and tends to be longer then most litter boxes.
He uses this box and the high sides help keep more litter in the box then on the size. But I was hoping for a larger floor print for my cat. I might have to change it out with a large [but shallow] storage box get more space for him.

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. I have multiple cats in my household, so when I was offered the chance to try the PetSafe ScoopFree Classic Self-Cleaning Litter Box, I signed up immediately.
I’ve never used a self-cleaning litter box before, so I was skeptical about how well it would work. I couldn’t be any more happy that I no longer have to scoop clumps of urine and feces. This litter box truly does the dirty work for you.
I received the classic system which includes the self-cleaning litter box, one disposable leak proof tray, and a one month supply of crystal litter. The set-up process is easy and only takes a few minutes to put together.
It would have been even faster if I weren’t a first-time user. This litter box has sensors inside that recognize when your cat is present. After you cat finishes, the timer starts a 20-minute countdown, before the raking begins.
But if your cat returns to the litter box during the countdown, the rake timer will reset itself once your cat leaves again. This makes me feel much more confident about using this system knowing that my cat will be safe and protected.
If need be, you can also activate the rake button manually. I could hardly believe how quiet this litter box is when it is actively raking. If you need to check the status of your litter box, just a quick glance at your rake button and the included chart, will answer all your questions.
I love how the PetSafe ScoopFree Classic Self-Cleaning Litter Box is made because I never have to see or touch any urine or feces. The crystal litter absorbs urine and the waste trap locks away the feces.
Also, the disposable litter trays are leak-proof, so I don’t have to worry about messing up my floor. This litter box is powered by an adaptor that you plug into a wall outlet. This system works effectively and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.
I would recommend the PetSafe ScoopFree Classic Self-Cleaning Litter Box to anyone who has a feline family member.
I never got to use the automatic function because my kitten was too young and they recommend your cat be 6 months old to use, but the litter (requirement of crystal litter) is not working and additionally, it’s expensive.
I started to notice that I was needing to change the litter every week as opposed to the month they claim in order to keep pools of urine from settling in the box. Even cleaning it every day and redistributing the crystals evenly did nothing to help and it’s now drawing bugs! I had intended to buy the hood and the reusable litter tray for it (both sold separately at respective prices of $27 an $77 each from Petsafe) but decided to cancel the orders since this isn’t working out.
The litter box was so expensive and we no longer have the box it came in and are having trouble locating the Walmart receipt. This was a very expensive fail on our parts. Our kitty is on a primary wet food diet, vet ordered.
My sister has this same brand of box and loves it so it may work for some cats that eat mostly dry food without diarrhea or frequent urination. The crystals reduce dust and set up of litter box was easy.
If the crystal litter has been absorbent or using another litter was an option (it isn’t) maybe this would have worked for our kitty, but sadly it didn’t.
We’ve been using this self-cleaning litter box for about a month now and we will never go back to regular litter boxes. This thing is AWESOME! We have 1 cat, a 5 year old female, indoor only. She went right into the box and used it right after we set it up.
She didn’t need any adjustment period, she isn’t frightened by it when it moves to rake the litter. She doesn’t mind it at all. This includes 1 litter tray. The crystal litter works extremely well – it soaks up liquids and it just vanishes, there’s no scooping clumps of liquid waste out at ALL.
The solids become dehydrated by the crystal litter and are raked into a small section at the front of the tray that will be covered. I never see or smell any waste coming from the box. There’s a motion sensor that knows when your cat has used the box so it waits a few minutes after the cat leaves the box to give the waste time to be absorbed and then rakes any solids into the collection area at the front of the box.
The litter tray is ridiculously quick and easy to swap out with a fresh tray. The replacement litter trays are a bit pricey, but the convenience of this box is definitely worth it. We went from scooping clumps out of our old box several times a day to ZERO scooping ever and swapping out a tray every 3 weeks.
This litter box has made us extremely happy, and the cat appreciates having a constantly clean box to do her business in. We 100% recommend this litter box.

I bought one of these early in the year and it became quickly my cats favourite. The other one was a stronger material, a bit higher but slightly shorter. The material is not very strong (won’t take any weight) but apart from that, myself and the felines are pleased and that’s why I bought a second one.
I got this litter tray on a one day special price. It’s very deep, so probably not for young kittens. My fussy cat took to it straight away. Not sure just how long the clips in the top section will last, but a good priced, well made item.
I would certainly buy it again.
Now the cat has figured out how it works, she is happily using it. I have a small cat and find that this is sturdy enough for her a larger more robust cat might find it less so. Having read previous reviews I am conscious of not too much force when cleaning it.
For me and my cat this is a good product and is certainly nicer than her old open tray.

We got this for our cat, the good is that it keeps litter very contained, which we need cause our cat digs to china each time he goes. We have a regular pan also, because he’s a diva and needs one for poop and one for pee, the regular pan always looks like someone dumped half of it on the floor, while this is really clean.
The bad is that the steps are impossible to clean with a scoop, but I use a shop vac to clean it up easy. I realize not everyone would have that handy so just keep in mind how you can clean that area, maybe a dust buster would work.
It holds an entire box of litter, which makes it rather deep, good for the diggers like my cat! I plan on replacing my other pan with this type soon.
This was the first litter box I used for my cat. I have no complaints. It was not very noticeable in my dining room kitchen. I had it in-between a few plants and you couldn’t tell it was there. I would just remove the top and scoop.
I would recommend this litter box for anyone with a regular sized cat. I ended up adopting a bigger cat and had to upgrade to a bigger litter box. He’s 16 lbs and this was too small for him.
Finally! A litterbox that actually keeps litter from tracking all around the house! The “clean step” really helps to minimize cat litter outside the box and I have 6 cats using it. I use a hand vacuum to clean the step once in a while and the small amount of litter that makes it way onto the floor.
Very minimal. Finally I feel like I can have a litterbox in the livingroom without it being visually unappealing or causing a mess. All my cats have been using it a lot, even more than the other giant, open, rectangle litterboxes we have.
Even our elderly cat with arthritis can access it easily with the stairs. I am thinking of getting another one of these boxes! I subtracted a star for these CONS- 1. Strange shape to scoop, not sure I’ll get used to that.
Rectangle is easier for sure than kidney bean shape. 2. As others have said, there is no latch to keep the top on the bottom. Maybe one day they will fix this, so not good for curious dogs or toddlers.
To add a little stability from rough playing kids or cats from accidentally knocking it I add a small piece of duct tape on either side of the entrance- helps a lot! 3. Could not get the litterbox liner it came with to fit over the strange shape of the litterbox.
The plastic actually split at the seam before I even started to try using it, had to patch it with duct tape. But ended up throwing it out anyway. If the liners you buy for this box are like this, they are useless.
And not sure if any liners out there will fit or not. Keep this in mind if you prefer to use a liner.

Reviews From Real Customers
I’m actually loving this thing right now. I’ve had so much trouble keeping up with my cats, but this definitely makes it easier. I have not had any issues with the screen like previous reviews have mentioned, so they must’ve improved on this.
The removable scoop does not sit flush like some have said, but honestly it doesn’t need to. The reason I took a star off is because it is smaller than I would prefer for the cats inside, although they seem to love it just fine.
They even go in just to check things out sometimes. Also, the clips to secure the lid on have hurt my fingers trying to get closed, but they are definitely fitted and don’t let litter escape. So overall we’re all VERY happy.
What the photos in the instructions don’t tell you is that you need to pretty much turn the whole thing upside down to get it to function as described. But since the clamps that hold the top and bottom together are cheap and hardly seal the part, litter spills out the side.
Then when you roll it back the other way to level out the litter, a third of it won’t sift back through the grate. The waste cut doesn’t fit snuggly. Wet wastes–which we all know sticks to the bottom of litter boxes–won’t drop into the cup so you have to open it regardless to scoop it.
This might be the worst household item in terms of ease of use and advertised functionality I’ve purchased ever. I would avoid and spend a little more for better quality.

QUIETEST SELF-CLEANING: Who wants their conversation to be disturbed by a loud automatic litter box? Not you, and not your cat. Thanks to the modern advanced motor and mechanism, you and your feline friend will barely purrceive the working AutoEgg.
It’s so quiet you may even put it in your bedroom! Quieter means more energy-saving. It only consumes 1 kWh of electricity for 500 cleaning cycles. SAFEST SELF-CLEANING: Other automatic litter boxes occasionally trap cats, or even cut off tails! Don’t let this cat-astrophe happen to your pets.
As soon as the AutoEgg Cat-Stuck Prevention function detects sudden weight above 0. 5 kg (1. 1 lb. ), the self-cleaning pauses immediately. What’s more, the cleaning rake movement is designed to a slow speed (5 mins per cycle) to avoid any potential harm to your friends of feline purrsuasion.
DEEPEST SELF-CLEANING: AutoEgg self-cleaning is so good it’s patent-pending. It includes both the 70-degree cleaning rake and the zigzag litter tray! What that means for you is dependable self-cleaning and minimal tray residues.
You might say it’s the cat’s meow! HEALTH LOG & ALERT: The AutoEgg touchscreen display records a log of date, time, duration, weight, and waste data for the last seven days. If the cat’s waste is less than 5 g (0.
18 oz), the data line will be displayed in red to show the abnormal situation. You can get your cat help quickly if needed, thanks to the AutoEgg’s vigilance. Better safe than sorry! MINIMAL MEOW-TENANCE COST: Many automatic litter boxes seem inexpensive at first, but with disposable trays, waste drawers, filters, and other accessories, and you’ll see that it easily adds up to hundreds of dollars each and every year.
And AutoEgg? Waste drawer liner is the only disposable item for it, and you can reuse plastic bags. AutoEgg does not require expensive types of litter. It only requires the most common fast- and hard-clumping clay cat litter with small particles.

Reviews From Real Customers
When looking into buying a self cleaning box, I did ALOT of research. There are so many brands out there but this one seemed to have the best information available & since it was $400 I figured it was going to be better quality than a lot of the cheaper options out there.
I had my doubts, but it seemed like a lot of people were happy with it so I gave it a shot. I’ve had it for 3 weeks and I’m already throwing it in the trash. They mention that it doesn’t make a lot of noise which couldn’t be further from the truth.
For context, my litter box is in my basement and my bedroom is on the 2nd floor. EVERY night the litter box is so loud it wakes me up. The motor gets stuck CONSTANTLY and I have to scrape in between to help make it move.
I have one cat, clean it DAILY and it still barely works. They focus on the easy clean up, just removing the bag. However, the sifting piece pushes the litter in between where the bag is and the actual device so litter dumps onto the floor as soon as you open it.
Not a little bit, MOUNTAINS of it. My cat fits into the box and is able to go in there – however, the size / amount of litter that you’re able to have in it is really more suitable for a kitten or VERY small cat.
On top of this, you can only use a very select type of litter – I used the ones recommended on the website and they still clogged the rake and didn’t really work well. On top of that, there is no help with odor control since the rake is barely functional and dirty litter gets trapped behind the motor.
Use the $400 and get your cat something they aren’t going to be afraid of because its SOOOOO noisy. Every aspect of this that makes it seem like a good investment is simply not accurate. Don’t listen to the people on YouTube giving rave reviews because they were likely just paid to say it.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. 11/2021: I’m on my second “egg” now and I need to let everyone know why NEVER to purchase from them. Not only is the product routinely defective, it’s also awful to manage. The tray to capture litter is itty bitty, the rake continually gets things stuck on it and is difficult to clean – the whole this is SUCH a pain, and they make you take it entirely apart.
Nothing about it is intuitive and I made the dumb decision to buy one anyway. Of course they only promote their “good” reviews. I posted one directly on their website and it’s hidden. I contacted Chillx customer support to notify them that my automatic cat litter box was no longer working, and unable for my cat to use, even as a normal litter box.
I notified them that the box was used “residentially”, as was stated in their warranty, and the team asked many individual questions rather than having me evaluate the potential issue in one go, making the entire resolution process take longer than necessary.
The representative tried to offer me a reconditioned (refurbished) unit, after I had purchased a brand new Egg. By June 21st the representative said my option was to return the egg, at my cost. I informed them that was outrageous and I would not pay (as stated on their website) 60-170 additional $.
Finally, after arguing with them, in place of returning the egg, they send me a replacement motor. When replacing the motor (based on their instructional video), I discovered a design flaw. The wire that powers the motor and therefore the cleaning of the egg, was completely severed – by their own designed clamp (unable to be touched by me or my cat.
) Since this egg is ~400 brand new, I would expect them to back their own product. Their warranty states you can “return the chillx” within 30 days for any reason, however their 12 month warranty states they will only send you a new egg if there is a “defect”.
If they design their own product poorly, there is absolutely no reason that the customer needs to shoulder that flaw. Their support team is embarrassingly brief and dismissive of customer concerns. there has been zero empathy displayed from the numerous representatives I have spoken to, and no admittance of fault.
I’m on my second “refurbished” unit and I (of course) have more problems. The screen that’s supposed to be unable to be permeated is now on the fritz and the sensor seems broke so it doesn’t even rake automatically.
It’s a glorified piece of junk. OF COURSE they are asking me to send it back again for repairs or a replacement. What a trash “warranty” policy for a trash product, that continually breaks – just a couple months after ownership.
Do NOT buy anything from them, ever.
I ordered the unit on May 7th of 2021. It was backordered at the time, stating it would ship in 2-4weeks. It didn’t. I understood the delays at the time, though, and tend to give others the benefit of the doubt.
But I never got communication about extended delays. My husband was convinced we were scammed, so I reached out to them on Jun 28th, 7 weeks after ordering. Four days after indicating we thought they were a scam, we got a shipping notice.
That timing seems a little sketchy in hindsight. It shipped July 2nd and arrived July 7th. The product looks nice, and did [sometimes] rake litter – that’s about all the good I have to say about it. I have two cats, but one was always too terrified of it to use it, so I’ve always had to keep a standard litter box as well.
I wouldn’t say the motor is loins but it makes enough noise my cats went on high alert whenever it’s start a rake cycle. Wide-eyed starting at, ears honed in on it, and crouching in a preflight pose.
The dome lid easily dislodged with the cat going in and out, also traumatizing them against it. And the dome is the biggest pain to get back on. It’s terrible. I hate it. Loathe it, even. Shortly after setting it up and using it, I didn’t love it but was convinced I was the problem.
The litter I used gunked up the rake tines and also piled up behind it as it went back to its home position. So I contacted them about what litter they recommended. They won’t endorse anything officially, but mentioned that their customers’ preference was the same litter I was using 😐 mmkayyyI chose a different litter on my own, and still had the same issues but to a less severe degree.
It requires frequent deep cleaning, as it gets litter EVERYWHERE inside the unit. It spills so much underneath the tray when it back rakes and litter is constantly in the wheel/tracks – impeding the rake and causing it to misalign, and grind loudly.
Again, scaring the cats that are meant to use it. The problem with the tracks is also that its design has the wire powering the rake just dragged around, back and forth with it, in a way that generally just wears it down.
But also, it can get caught in the gear/wheel and pinched or run over, again dislodging the rake and damaging itself in the process. I used electrical tape to tape up my now exposed wiring due to this design flaw, and it continued to “work” this way for a while – no better nor worse than before.
In early March 2022, it stopped raking entirely. I thought it was the tracks needing cleared again, so I took it apart and deep cleaned it as I had several times before, but it still would not finish a rake cycle, even empty of litter.
It would rake almost to the bin, but not all the way and would not go back “home. ”It was right before vacation while I was fighting it, so I just left it unplugged and empty, bought a new large standard litter box to accommodate my two cats while we were gone, and went on vacation.
Once back, I tried again a few time to fix it, thinking again I was the problem. But I now am positive it’s not me. It’s just faulty. I emailed customer service April 3rd 2022, describing the problem and asking advice and what the warranty covered, etc.
It is now April 29th and I still have no response to my email. My husband again is convinced they are a scam and wants me to flame them on social media. I’ve never done such a thing before, but boy am I tempted.
This review is the start. I implore you, just don’t buy it. Don’t give them your money. Especially in this economy. It will not save you time, effort, discomfort, or litter. Keep your $400 and scoop your litter, cuz you’d still have to do it anyway with this litter box.

Reviews From Real Customers
Pros: The box is very spacious and I like the look of it. Both of my kitties took right to it. It also seems to hold the smell in, even without the door (which I removed). Cons: If you have a kitty that loves to scratch everything (even though you provide 1,000 scratchers), beware they might take a liking to the filter on top of the box.
One of my kitties is constantly ripping it apart! See attached picture of what she managed to do in 5 minutes unattended. Also, the 4 locks on the lid are a bit difficult to work and clunky. I’ve managed to cut my hands a few times because I have to fiddle with it so much.
I haven’t tried the door feature because I just haven’t wanted to, so I can’t speak to that. Personally, I wouldn’t buy this box again even though it is attractive for a litter box.
I searched & searched for the biggest cat litter box I could find that is covered and has a door for my senior cat who is starting to pee just outside the box because he’s not going inside far enough.
This is the largest covered box I could find and so far it is perfect. This thing is BIG, and I LOVE that you don’t have to take the whole lid off to clean it – you just bring the middle portion up and over itself and have plenty of room to scoop inside.
When you do need to take the lid off, the 4 locks slide open easily and are very secure when in the locked position. I was worried about having issues with the door getting stuck with the cat inside and it not being able to push out (saw many reviews about this), which seems to happen if the middle portion is not aligned properly when you put it back down – but I just don’t snap it completely down and it swings just fine and only leaves a tiny gap of a few millimeters between the door and the bottom edge.
Also saw reviews about cats playing with the carbon filter on top, but *knock on wood* my mischievous little 2. 5 year cat old that plays with EVERYTHING has left it alone. I love that the front end has little grooves to hold your bag while you clean the litter so you can scoop directly into the bag without any mess spilling out.
This thing is AWESOME and well worth the price. Chewy also had the fastest shipping for this product and it came in 3 days as opposed to over a week everywhere else (& came in perfect condition). I am so happy with this purchase.

Reviews From Real Customers
Never thought I’d be excited about a cat litter box, but here we are. I am SO glad I bought this thing in spite of some questionable reviews I’ve seen around. My only actual true complaint is that placing the top back on the “planter” when changing the litter can be tricky and slightly frustrating, but not even enough to dock a star from the review.
the good qualities far outweigh any bad ones and over time it seems to be getting easier to reassemble (I only completely change the litter once every two weeks, and can scoop it daily without removing the top portion, so the annoyance doesn’t even happen very often).
I do wish that perhaps they would have found a better way to decorate the top of the planter, many people have commented about how their cats play with or eat the fake moss, so I was cautious when I placed the fake moss on the box, but my boys totally ignore it.
I did buy some small/medium river rocks that I can easily replace the moss with should my boys randomly notice the moss and try to play with/eat it, but we’ve had the box for 4 months so far and they still haven’t messed with it.
Just a head’s up that you MIGHT want to be prepared “not to use the moss” if your kitties are fans of chewing things they shouldn’t. The box is easy to clean, hides smells, and is large enough for our very large Nebelung (17 lbs and super long/tall) and our 15 lb fat orange tabby.
I was concerned that it would be too small since we’ve had problems in the past with litter boxes being too small, but this one is just fine. It is an excellent way to “hide” the stinky and unsightly cat litter – and we needed a nice and tidy way to hide our boys’ bathroom since the *only* spot we really have to put it is unfortunately in the dining room.
Nobody notices the litter box, everyone just assumes it is a fake plant. Yes, it looks like an “obviously fake” plant (the plant itself isn’t super high quality) but it is SO MUCH better than cat poop sitting out in plain sight.
If the leaves really bother you, you could probably buy a better fake plant to replace it with. but quality of leaves isn’t a big deal to us. The leaves of the fern are crunched up initially in the box it comes in, but much to our relief they eventually seemed to straighten out with minimal effort.
Bottom line – while not absolutely perfect, this thing was well worth the money.
OK, first of all I’ll say that I really like this. I have a small bathroom and the big “dome box” litter box was just too much and was really ugly. This adds a decorative touch and fits nicely into the corner, so it’s a big improvement.
I also like that it’s large enough for my big cat, and easy to access for scooping. BUT. seriously, whoever designed the decorative part of this obviously does NOT have a cat! The artificial plant is nice, and you can arrange it in different ways, but it comes with this batch of artificial moss to go around it.
Anyone with a cat knows that this is going to last all of about 30 seconds, until the cats notice it and destroy it. I tried picking it back up and sweeping up the mess, but after the third time I admitted defeat and just threw the moss away.
So overall, I really like the litter box but they really need something better to “decorate” the base of that plant.

Snooky isn’t a temperamental cat she just knows what she likes or dislikes. Snooky is a Russian Blue and being descended from Russian aristocracy she can throw one big kitty cat tantrum if her litter box isn’t clean.
I carefully followed the acclimating your cat to the new litter box instructions but needed have bothered because she immediately started using the new box. I believe the crystal litter is easier on her paws, Snooky has very delicate paws and being the lady she is she always makes a good job of covering any waste.
So cat approved and I approve too. I love the anti tracking grid and the no dust litter, I have a mat under the box but that didn’t stop litter being tracked though-out the house with the previous system.
I also noticed the crystal litter wasn’t getting stuck in between Snooky’s toes. Maintaining has been easy, I give the whole box a good shake everyday to keep the litter evenly distributed, having a scoop hanger is a nice touch because I never know where to put the scoop.
The crystal litter and pad absorb all the odor, the vents allowing air flow also help to keep the box smelling fresh. The size of the box is perfect, big and deep enough for a cat to feel comfortable but not so big you need a wheel barrow to fill it with litter! The box looks smart and is made from high quality materials, no wobbly bits on it.
Great product, Snooky approved.

If you have a cat who stands up while they pee, do not get this box. It cost my afternoon to have to clean up after the pee that leaked outside the litter box, and to find a new litter box. The box is seriously perfect otherwise.
I suggest Catit Jumbo Litter Box, just make sure clasps are working properly, and you should be good to go — though, be very careful when deep cleaning and taking the top off, pee will come out from the place that the top and the bottom meets.
(And make sure to then put the top and bottom back together properly). Anyways, very unfortunate. This litter box was perfect otherwise. Very roomy, very sturdy. If you don’t have a cat who stands up while pees, it may be worth a try, but there’s no guarantee they won’t just start doing that one day like my cat.
Unfortunately this litterbox was a miss for me. It has some pros but the cons were enough that I have to purchase another different litterbox that will work better for my needs. Pros: I like the size of this box.
I also like the wide opening. Cons: The snaps on the sides are hard to open, which is very annoying. If you have nails, be careful because you will break them trying to get this thing open. Also the front is lower, which seems great but my cat pees in the front area of the box and since this one has the lower front, there has been some over-spray on the rim which is yuck.
So unfortunately this box did not work for me and I wasted my money – obviously can’t return a used litterbox, – and I’ve only had it for a week or so. Anyways I’m getting a different box similar to the previous one that I had before.
first off- the title. the low front lip ensures that no matter what, even with the door ‘closed’ (which my cats abhore), any sort of burying they do flings a beyond irritating amount of litter out of the box.
Even with a rubber mat, the trail of litter they leave with this box is astonishing. secondly- it is a NIGHTMARE to clean. the snaps are so stiff you basically need the freaking jaws of life to open them, and in a twist of humor-devoid fate, there is no good angle at which to place the trash receptical as not to spill yet *more* litter from this unwieldly and horribly designed box.
I do not understand how it’s as highly rated as it is, but whatever. I personally would recommend a variety of other boxes over this one.

Reviews From Real Customers
When I was researching for a new cat litter box for my two cats I wanted to make sure they were comfortable. My number one concern was that my cats had the room they needed to use the litter box properly, and hopefully solve the issue of our small bathroom not having enough room for both a cat bed and a litter box.
This litter box is surprisingly big, my 7kg cat can move and turn around comfortably inside and both cats love the bed on the roof. It snapped together easily and the roof having a door makes it super convenient to scoop out dirty litter instead of having to take the top off every time I want to check the litter condition.
Our cats started using it immediately but haven’t worked out the scratcher yet. Only annoying thing was having to punch out each individual cardboard piece for the scratcher which took me half an hour.
We didn’t put the door flap on since it’s a new box to help the cats adjust which is working fine; but it does mean we need a litter mat for when they scoop the litter in the direction of the door. The litter box looks great too as we didn’t want an ugly box where guests are going to see the mess and we are also hoping the enclosed design will mean our future dog and child won’t want to play with the litter inside.
It’s reasonably priced and ticks all our boxes so we are very pleased.
Recently bought this as I needed a new litter box for downstairs of our new home and our cat had trouble adjusting to new surrounding environment. This litter box helped him readjust to new surroundings and do his business where he’s required.
The play mat and scratch post he just sniffs so it’s purely for looks. Cats usually don’t play where they do their business but at least his litter box looks good.
Delivery was slow but that could have been because of Coronavirus. Well packaged. Great litter box and fairly easy to put together and set-up. Only one issue and that was one of the end base clips was broken.
This has not affected my ability to put together or function of box. We have purchased this as a travel litter box for our cat and I think because of its shape, size and extra like bed and scratching post will work well for us.
Conclusion
Litter boxes are beneficial in preventing tracking because they confine the litter to one area. This prevents the litter from being scattered around the house, which would otherwise end up being tracked onto carpets and other surfaces.
Litter boxes also make it easy to clean up after your cat, as you can simply scoop out the soiled litter and dispose of it.
