This book is an easy read and to the basics text with a 14 day meal plan including a shopping list with 3/4 of the book filled with REASONABLE recipes. We have reviewed several Ketogenic books with hard to find ingredients and complicated recipes to create.
This is a MUST buy to Keto dieting if you are on the go type of person with little time for research and buying weird ingredients.
The front of this book has basic information on the keto diet which I already knew so I was more interested in the recipes in the second half. Unfortunately there weren’t a plethora of recipes and the macros for the recipes (particularly the net carbs measure) was not the same using the products available from the supermarket and running them through a calorie and nutrient tracker.
I understand there is variation which arises from which products you use but I consistently selected products with the lowest net carbs I could find and the recipes still came up with greater than 6g net carbs per meal.
Given that the whole sell of the book is that meals under 6g net carbs make it easy to follow the keto diet, this failure kind of defeats the whole purpose of the book. Not really a fan.
Its okay. Its mostly comprised of recipes and a tiny bit of the science. I rather a step by step and an easy diagram to show eat this not that in a better visual way. Perhaps I already knew and am doing most of the things, the major thing seems to be cut out breads, sweets, sodas, and potatoes.
The diet does work, when I was more closely following it I lost weight fast. I was hoping this book would streamline things, but maybe Keto is just an easy diet/lifestyle to do! If you need recipes this is a great book!.

Fantastic book! I’ve read masses about keto, tried to follow a keep diet for about a year but really struggled. This book explains why that was and I’m now doing it again but with fewer rules, no measuring and being much more successful! Although it’s really more LCHF than true keto.
Recipes are great and it’s a beautiful book to look at too. Highly recommended, particularly for women.
The problem with this cookbook is that it does not clearly state that it’s a dairy free version of Keto. To replace she uses enormous amounts of animal fat, the woman truly loves pork rinds! This is not a healthy eating Keto.
When the Butter Cake does not contain butter I have an issue. More of an American diet Keto, for those that don’t really want to change bad eating habits, just the ingredients. Keto is a high fat diet, but I don’t believe it needs to be predominantly lard.
That being said, if you want a dairy free Keto cookbook and do not mind all the pork rinds, this book has some great recipes for you.

This is definitely one of the better keto books by far, with food your familiar with, and things you can can afford to buy. I absolutely love that it shows you your fat/protien/carbs for every recipe, and knows you are trying to stay under 20g carbs a day.

The recipes are more aimed towards upscaled dining. I love the use of fresh herbs. Recipes with lamb, pancetta, crab and trout are even used. A large variety of dishes I would be proud to serveeven to company.

Definitely how I’m going to buy books from now on. The book was in immaculate condition which I have no idea how the previous owner managed as its a cook book essentially. The actual book has some seriously life impacting information in it.
Is well presented with clear instructions how to implement into your life. I’ve done the 21 day keto reset diet now and I’m not quite ready for a full on keto effort right now but I’m just going to continue doing the meals in the recipe section.
I have definitely got over the low carb flu part and starting to feel less hungry and also experience more levels of calm in my day to day life. Pretty incredible what you can achieve by just switching your diet around a bit.
I really like this book because it gives two meal plans, the first meal plan is to help you ease into keto and the second is a full keto plan. Each meal plan is 21 days. I made the mistake of skimming, as I’m eating keto to help with a health condition and just needed help on where to start food wise, and I did the full keto plan first.
After a week, and a small carb cheat here and there aka brown rice, I’m down 6 lbs in one week after several months of trying to walk the weight off. The only real downside is that each meal recipe is for 4 to 6 servings.
So if you’re cooking for one, like I am, it’s a lot of food with a lot of leftovers that get tiring pretty quick. If you’re cooking for your family this is great. I would also recommend only buying three days of food at a time, otherwise the veggies and stuff spoil before you get to use them.

important information is missing from the recipes. None of the recipes say how what a portion size is in the nutrition info. in the recipe for pocket dough, the directions don’t say where to add the seasonings.
I bought this book along with a couple of others. This is the one I use the most because the recipes taste good and the preparation isn’t too complicated. This book really does help trying to balance a keto diet with a busy work schedule.

The cornbread is the best- splurge on the sweet corn extract!!! Reheat the cornbread the next day in your toaster – oh my ! Its tastiness sings to a southern soul.

Its not a how to Keto book if youre looking for an instructional book on how to keto diet, it is purely a recipe book. So far I have made at least a dozen of the recipes so far and they have all been tasty and came out well, plus you can switch out some of the ingredients if you cant find certain sweeteners or flax flour which is very hard to find in UK.

well i must say this is the best book i have ever bought i have been searching through health books for over 3 years and read many books on the subject but i have finally found one that works and true.
very well priced and written i would say to anyone to get this book, but the only drawback is some of the products you need to buy are expensive but you can do this on a budget and not have all items and living in the uk its not that easy to get the organic meat as it is in the USA wish the uk had some USA shops here.
There was some great detail about the Keto diet, why and how it works. Good menu plans and recipes. However, this kindle book is not set up to be user friendly. For instance, everytime I leave the book then try to come back to it, I have to start over at page 1.
And I cannot go from the menu to any particlar section without having to go through the whole book. A real waste of time for me. I should have bought the hard copy.
I have thought for a long time that ‘low calorie’ was not natural for your body and that counting calories was hard work. This book explains and takes you back to basics. I am steadily changing my diet and feeling so much better without buying food I don’t like or wish to try.

I think everyone needs to read this book. Especially long time ketogenic eaters. It explains all reasons we are plateauing and why we donâ€™t feel well even while eating keto. For example, I thought I was eating strict, healthy keto when I was eating a large ribeye steak with a cup or two of green veggies with lots of butter etc.
I would feel bloated and my stomach right under my ribs was full and tight. I was miserable and uncomfortable not to mention the belching. After reading this book I learned why that is. I am a Liver body type.
In fact when I read about this, it clicked because a few years ago my endocrinologist told me I had a fatty liver. Mind you I was 41 years old, just had a total hysterectomy from high estrogen levels causing fibroids and endometriosis, and I was thin and in great physical shape(I was eating keto then too).
But, the doctor told me he couldnâ€™t explain why I had a fatty liver considering I NEVER drink alcohol. After reading this book I have so much more understanding and I am looking forward to making the few tweaks to my diet and menu and getting on the path to healing my liver.
So so thankful I got this book. I think I may have added years to my life. â ¤ï¸.
This is my favorite Keto Diet book EVER. He is straight forward, tells it like it is – with lots of data and people’s experience to back up what he is saying. I’ve lost 50 pounds that I thought was impossible to lose.
Do what he says and it will work for you. I also love the support structure that he has in the YouTube videos. Hundreds of them on so many topics that I doubt there is any issue untouched. Like anything, you must DO IT.
I never thought I could eat only one meal a day. But now, I feel so healthy now I couldn’t even imagine this state I find myself in. I feel like I did when I was an energetic 50 years old. – I’m now 64 and I look better than I did at 50.
I tried Paleo and other diets. This one is the best. Also, the recipes are amazing. My personal favorite is the pizza. Get this book! Do this healthy Keto Plan. Stick with it and you will see amazing results.
This is a terrific book for information on how our bodies burn fat and how the Keto Plan can help. The various body types was so illuminating and I learned answers to questions that I have been searching for, for years, on why I have struggled to lose weight.
The only reason my review is not a five star pertains to the accompanying recipes. With very few exceptions, the recipes in this book would break most household budgets. My favourite — No-Grain English Muffins (which are terrific) has a cost of $30.
00 for 8 muffins!!! So, buy the book for its lucid explanations, but after you ARE armed with Dr. Berg’s knowledge, use it AND Google to sort through the plethora of Keto recipes on the web. In these economic times, your food budget will survive, and you will feel healthy again.

I first found this book at my local library and after successfully trying half a dozen recipes, I knew I had to add it to my keto diet books. The breakfast recipes were all excellent – especially delicious was the Breakfast Chili Bowl.
Caveat – the recipes in this cookbook are not really for “beginner’s” in that they are moderately complex. I successfully substituted ingredients (such as butter or bacon fat for ghee or duck fat) and made my own tweaks.
The author seemed very knowledgeable about the keto diet and wrote the intro chapters in an understandable manner. To me, the reference to “beginners” was to people beginning the keto diet and already know how to cook.
It’s really good for knowing how much to measure out and the read was interesting because I now know why I have insomnia. Can’t sleep on this diet. Which in the book said it is a rare case, and I love the menu in the book.

Matt n Megha always say that we should do what makes us feel good, to gauge our diet by how it makes us feel with emphasis on what is our macros. I do NOT agree with a previous post that they r only in it for the money.
If they were in it for the money, they would have created their own line of supplements, MCT products, keto food, etc. but they havenâ€™t. They have their cookbooks but I c those as sharing their wealth of experience n knowledge with all of us to b able to maintain the keto eating plus keto lifestyle.
