20 Best Inflatable Paddle Board Kayak Combo (2023 Updated)

I’ve wanted to try a SUP for a while but being a big guy and the lack of models that are out there for bigger paddlers and the costs of the few that had the weight carrying capacity, I’ve held off and stuck to my kayaks.

When I saw this one and being on sale, I decided to give it a try. I’m happy I did. I also ordered a seat and foot brace to use it in kayak mode as I want to do some fly fishing with it too and having a clean board with little for lines to snag on was also a draw.

I haven’t gotten to try or use it in SUP mode yet since it’s been ridiculously windy where I am but did paddle it in yak mode with the seat and foot brace. It’s quite comfortable in yak mode. I was riding high and dry on the board.

Pump is quite nice. I do use a little handheld rechargeable pump like the Kokopelli to initially inflate the board as much as it can and then finish it with the floor pump inflating it to 15 psi. I have no problem with the hose staying attached pumping it up to 15 psi.

I have to wonder with reviews I’ve read where people say they have to hold the hose onto the kayak after 10 psi – you do realize you twist the hose connector onto the valve to keep it in place – right? It’s not going anywhere if you do that.

Then untwist it to remove when inflated to your desired pressure. Looking forward to more paddling both seated and standing with mine. Seems like a great board to try if you’ve never tried or had one.

Nice combination inflatable. This one is replacing the inflatable that was purchased about 10 years ago. This one is nice and sturdy but, the vinyl is not as strong as the old board. Some how the first time out the underside came up with 2 small marks on the bottom.

A few hours later went to use it and noticed it had deflated slightly. Thought that was odd. Checked for leaking at the valve, OK. Checked the top, OK. Then flipped over and found the 2 small marks, and that’s where the leaks were.

The vinyl is very thin compared to the old board. So, beware of this issue. We need to locate some vinyl adhesive and do a repair on a board that was used once. Kinda disappointing. But, the board is very stable, not so sure if I want to use it to fish from though, fish do have fins.

Don’t think it would with stand that.

We are very very happy with this purchase! My wife has the 10’6”. I wanted stability for learning. No need for speed. Pros: (There are many). We paid 95$ extra for expedited shipping. Ordered late in the afternoon and it arrived in a remarkable two days.

Packaging is best we have seen. This end of their operation is first class. Very stable. I’m taller and almost 70 years old and had no problems on the board. Seat is wonderfully comfortable, especially with the foot rest.

Awesome for me to switch back and forth between Kayak and SUP while afloat. Able to SUP with seat in tact. The foot rest helps with up and down as it gives hand support. It fits easily back in the well designed bag.

Strong zipper and easy to carry. Easy to deflate and pack. Why don’t more companies get this? It’s why you buy an inflatable. Cons: the brass swivel spring snaps are a bit small and challenging to put in place.

We bought ones a size up. No need to struggle with this. Easy fix for them and I hope they make the small but important improvement. We would purchase again without hesitation. And yes-the cost makes it a great bargain.

As one who lives by the sea, I found myself watching more and more folks bringing them on holiday and giving it a go. I did several hours of reading up on what paddle boarding involved and the sort of money I should expect to pay.

This turned out to be a great choice with the right dimensions for a beginner with good balance and coordination. It will easily take one other adult sitting or two small children. The bag itself is useful although I generally carry the board from the beach to the car, only putting it back in the bag when returning to my vehicle.

Rolling it up on the sand will be quite messy. The paddle is sturdy and easy to adjust, essential when moving from sitting to standing.

This board has held up incredibly well to frequent use! I have taken it out on rivers at least 20 times since I got it and have had ZERO problems. I discovered it is sturdy enough to support TWO adults (one sitting) with TWO small dogs.

It’s super stable, I have not fallen off it yet, even in big wake. I never go paddling without my dog and I am especially impressed with how well this board had held up to doggy nails– no visible signs of damage! Honestly I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

This paddleboard is suitable for all levels as it has excellent balance, unlike some cheaper products where finding a reason not to quit as a beginner can be quite difficult. Here, particularly if you start simple like on a canal, for example, you’ll find balancing relatively easy, and then you’ll be able to start to experience all the joys of paddle-boarding – and it is a rather wonderful hobby to have.

We bought 2 of these and then bought a third. Great value for money and so much fun to use. The pump is not that great but we bought a better quality one separately. For the price you can’t complain.

We’ve used these boards a lot. I like that they come with a kayak paddle and seat. They are good for kids (9 and 12) too and quite stable. They deflate and fold up easily and don’t take up too much space.

Our friends were so taken with them they then bought 3. I should be on commission!.

Was not sure this would be good as a second family board. Our first cost a whopping 350. This board is a brilliant board. Wider and shallower than most cheap boards which improves stability and great if you do lots of sea paddling, and has all the add ins included.

The only difference is the cheaper looking bag. no biggy. Just got back from a family holiday in France and used it for sea and estuary paddling, sea kayaking (with two of us on the board) around the coast and my husband even used it to surf.

Highly recommend this as a starter board for anyone.

I got this paddle board after reading many excellent reviews and it didn’t disappoint. It has everything you need to get started and is easily big enough for an adult and child in front. It is a mighty beast and blowing up the last 5 psi is hard work but do-able.

I’m 65 year old woman and blew the whole board up in less than 10 minutes. The service from Osprey Action Sports was faultless with a quick delivery time and a discount for signing up to their email.

I highly recommend them as a company and this particular paddle board.

Took this boat on a plane to Dominican Republic all inclusive resort. Had serious doubts with transportation, storage in the room. all turned to be as easy as it gets. For 7 days vacation took it out to Caribbean sea daily for fishing.

Very stable. Handles well in rough surf and wind (by the time I was coming back trade wind would start). Caught tons of fish. I highly recommend this boat. BTW – I compared it to Hobies (paddle ones) the resort had – this boat outperformed hard shells.

I have ocean kayak trident 13 which is little bit in a different league – this boat feels more stable! Also if you have spiny fish – EVA foam pads are superb protection. please remember that going back home by plane your kayak will likely weigh 1-2 lbs more than going in – because it will have little retained water / salt in the creases and EVA foam and humid environment – just plan ahead of time.

Overall can not beat it.

Love our new FishSUP. With battery kit and water snake trolling motor my wife, dog, and I motor around for hours. Swivel Seat is great for motoring or paddling. When standing, iSUP is very stable – great for novice paddlers or experts.

Can easily handle two adults.

Great entry level SUP. Make sure you inflate up to recommended PSI (15) gets harder to pump when you get to the higher psi’s. I have 10 kayaks first time on SUP hard to stabilize at first but once you balance your self and fall a few times you will find the center gravity of the board it’s 9 feet so don’t expect to bring anyone along it’s to small maybe small child.

No place to put a dry bag but a couple of bungees ties together will fix that problem. Other than that it’s a great SUP. Comes with bag and pump pretty legit. Wait for the sale tho :).

We really wanted to get paddle boards this year because I love the sun and grew up on the water! I wanted something I could do by myself without having to have help. I have several chronic health conditions that cause a lot of pain, weakness, make me tired, ect.

We usually go places as a family and I don’t have to do any work, but as kids age and I need to fill my days, strengthen my aging body and calm my mind, I want to have this as a resource to me that I can do when the lake is not frozen.

I managed to walk up and down a steep and rocky hill with my board, my paddle tucked into the bungees on the board, I wore my lifejacket and had my backpack on. I did it all by myself!The hand pump gets a tiring, but I have an air compressor at home I can fill it with beforehand and easily strap it on my car.

Coming home I can deflate it quickly throw it in the back. I spray it down at home, make sure it’s dry before packing it back up. Pro’s ;I like that I can handle this board easily by myself!I like that it is easy to store travel with!I like the backpack bag everything goes in!I loved the price!I like that it can be used like a kayak with the seat and foot bar, I don’t care too much for the kayak paddle.

There are bungee cords to store your stuff up front. There are several hooks to clamp onto along the board. I also liked the accessible room on the board for people, dogs, ect to lay on. Some boards are not flat like this.

There is a rope that attaches to ankle in case you fall off. (This is great but plain black cheap rope with cheap velcro. )Cons;(Just cosmetic-lol)The rope that attaches to the ankle. Other boarders had one that was bright and coiled.

(They looked cool instead of a lame black rope and Velcro. ) You might want to buy after market ones and clamps to tie other passengers or a dog life vest to the board too so everyone is not all over the place if the board is dumped over.

There are a few places to put hooks. There can never be enough storage. There is not an air tight storage like a hard side board. Maybe bring some extra bungee cords and C clamps to hold things down.

A water proof bag would be good. Towing ropes are something we thought we could bring next time too. Only because I am have chronic medical conditions and sometimes I am just done!We brought our big 65 pound standard poodles and had them lay straight on the board in front of us while sitting.

I used the seat, the kayak bar but did not use the kayak paddle as it drips too much water in there eyes. The paddle board paddle keeps them dryer, calmer and steadier!I do wish there was more hooks bungees or padding on the back of the board.

When we go out, we tend to load up the boards take our hammocks, a cooler and head to where cars and most people can’t go. We have had a great time with the boards this first year as a family. We bought three inflatables and one hard side.

All we a great deal, but I like this the best so far! The end of summer deals are awesome!We have older teens, but I have seen all ages on their own paddle boards, all kinds of people, all kinds of dogs!It was easy to handle except in the wind.

If your healthy and strong, you should be ok!The board itself seems stable as long as there is not someone throwing off your balance( including you). It inflates easy but it is a work out for most of us.

Take turns. The last little bit is hard to do. We have a big air compressor at home and use that. A small float air compressor for your car will not do this job! The less air in the board, the lower you are in the water.

It makes it harder to maneuver. I would definitely buy or recommend this inflatable paddle board/ kayak again for the price and features, durability it offers so far for the first year!.

I purchased this because it was on a special offer and reduced in price. It seems well constructed. Being 9’ it pumps up relatively quickly. I find it more unstable than my other board that is bigger and wider and I’m not keen on the more upturned nose.

It seems that less of the board is in the water. It rides quite low. I’m 80kg and it is just above the waterline. Makes it interesting in rougher weather. The board is actually for my wife and she likes the colour.

She still finds it tough to pump up though so she uses an electric pump. All in all it suits her and that’s the main reason for buying it. There’s only two D rings and didn’t come with a net. For its price though (reduced ) it’s okay.

Not sure I would buy at the rrp though. Paddle is box standard.

Bought this in July 2021, just before a visit by Arizona relatives and their 5 kids. We live on the Lake Oswego canal and there are lots of SUP’pers on summer days going up and down the calm canal. In short, it was the highlight of their visit.

We bought two and they were in constant use. The pump is a pretty simple design but it worked okay. It will take some time to inflate, and your pecs will be larger by the end of summer. The manual pump can be used two ways.

With a small rubber plug inserted at the top of the pump, it pumps only on the downstroke, so more pressure but less volume. With the plug removed (It’s secured by a nylon cord) you will pump on the upstroke also, which is very hard to do when the pressure is high.

So the idea is to double-pump to partially inflate the board in the shortest time, then switch over to single-pumping to get the pressure up. They say 15psi but even at half that it’s pretty rigid and stable.

Now (November) the season is over and the two boards are in storage but still inflated. I dropped the pressure to maybe 6psi; wonder if I should drop it to even lower just so the internal structure isn’t stressed?Wish list: would have been nice to offer an optional kayak seat and extra paddle extension (to form a double paddle), but this board doesn’t have any tiedown points.

But it’s still a great purchase and the kids will never forget their summer at Lake Oswego.

I love my SUP, and have been paddling every weekend since it arrived. At first I did a lot of flatwater paddling in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area. Rivers, lakes and Norfolk harbor. Then I joined the Virginia Paddlers and tried some whitewater paddling on the James, Jackson and New rivers.

The SUP worked very well in all those environments. I even put a bicycle on the nose, and paddled the New River from Foster Falls, VA to Allisonia, VA. then deflated the paddleboard, and biked back to Foster Falls with the SUP in the backpack!.

I am a newbie to the SUP craze. After numerous online iSUP reviews I had noticed that quite a few of them were using this board as their staple, comparing the others tested to it. As I already have a Sea Eagle kayak it was a no brainer on which model to purchase.

It is a solid board when inflated to 12 psi and once you start moving it tracks nice and straight. No constant left-right-left paddling and battling to keep it going straight. Compared to others the board itself is on the lighter side and easy to carry yourself.

Having all the d-rings, handles and shock cord already installed is a plus and the ability to strap in the Sea Eagle seat to it will come in handy. The paddle is of good quality but I believe is just a tad on the heavy side.

The bag is of good quality too and has extra room inside. It took about 8 minutes for me to inflate to 12psi using the supplied pump which was a workout in itself, but it does the job. I see a 12v pump in my future.

I would have given this “starter set” a five star if it would have come with an ankle tether and a floating whistle. Overall a great product.

I like that my 80 lbs lab can join me. Having fun with the rear kick tail and walking along the large deck pad. The extra D-rings come in handy. Plan to add a rowing deck some day. It tracks well and cuts through any chop.

My only complaint is it’s a bit heavy and a padded center handle to match the front handle would have been nice.

IšverstiShow in original languageAbsolutely love the design of it. It’s so easy to switch from kayaking to SUP in the water. I just simply move the seat up and out of the way and then switch the paddle or vice versa.

It’s great for starting out in the quiet harbor in SUP configuration and then when I get out to the busy bay with the wake I switch to a sit-down kayak configuration. Usually, I would just get on my knees to keep from getting knocked over when a big wake comes from the boat but the kayak option makes it very comfortable and secure to paddle sitting down and is faster with the two paddles.

I’m fairly short so when I sit in the middle the leg bar is the perfect distance for me. I find that if I sit too far back, the tip of the board comes up, so it might be problematic for taller people.

The pump that it came with was not the best and the PSI reading on it seems to be off. I ended up using a pump I had for a different SUP because that worked better. But it made up for it because it came with an automatic air compressor adaptor that will save your arms from having to pump it manually at all.

Overall, it’s a great design, it compromises a little bit of quality for compatibility – which I will take since I drive a small crossover and live in a tiny studio and need it to be as compact as possible.

I LOVE my BKC SUPYN!! I took it out yesterday for the first time, and I was impressed!! I am a novice SUPer and also like to kayak for fun. I wanted both a kayak and SUP. I could not believe it when, after a google search, I found the BKC combo solution.

It seemed too good to be true – at such a low price? The board is incredibly stable to stand on. Much more stable than the fiberglass board I was using. The kayak seat is super comfortable and it’s easy to stand up from the seat and use the board as a SUP.

The SUPYN is very responsive and moves quickly through the water. I had a blast with it. Two activities in one product! I love all the tie downs for extra paddles and 2 spots for a cooler and a dry bag.

I really love that there is no fin sticking out on the bottom, allows me to go out at low tide and not worry about breaking anything off. I wont use the fishing attachments, but they look pretty functional.

I would love to be able to purchase a cup holder attachment (please make one!). Shipping was fast and included. Packaging was great. The trucking company was on time and in communication. The entire experience was very impressive.

I bought this paddle board one year ago and I love it. I use it for fishing, camping, and fun with the kids. It can handle a lot of weight and tracks well (I use it on a river). I have used many different types of kayaks- I will never buy anything other than a paddle board similar to this one.

Definitely worth the price. I got it when there was a 25% discount active. It paddles well and the layout is great for fishing. Be careful about going any higher to sit. I built a little riser and felt very stable until I manged to roll it.

Don’t get me wrong; it is extremely stable as a SUP and sitting low. Paddles at a decent clip for a plastic board. I have seen information stating it is hollow. I have paddled hollow plastic SUPs, felt the flex under foot and heard the sound when you knock on them.

The BKC SUP may not be fully foam filled, but I am pretty sure there is some support in there.

The product is durable; I had no air leak problems after 5 hours on the lake. The two fins keep the SUP tracking straight at low speeds. The single/double paddle option is great for long trips. I didn’t sit in the seat, but the pocket on the back is great for water bottles, a first aid kit and snacks.

I’m intrigued by the parasail mount integrated in the board and want to give it a try. I wish there was a single handle in the middle of the board rather than one on each side, because it is difficult to carry two paddle boards without a middle handle.

The pump works well if you’re not a pansy. This board is a bit heavier than other I’ve seen, but overall it is a great value and seems to be a quality product.

Pumped up easily with the included pump. If you’re unfamiliar with inflatable craft pumps, the pump nozzle fits into the opening and needs to be twisted to secure it in place and seal it to the inflation valve.

might take a bit of force to get it to do so but don’t overdo it and break something. Examine the two elements to understand how they fit together to seal the air. Very stable but as is any SUP you’ll wobble if you’re doing it for the first time.

YouTube is you friend for advice clips on standing up on one for beginners. Used it for Wing-SUPing first time and worked great. The center fin should get me further upwind once I’m adept at winging.

So much better than I thought. Im 63ish, a woman, frugal, and I can attest this is a great value, 150 on sale. (:-), I can carry this overhead with backpack in stow without too much difficulty. Its as hard as wood, glides like a dream, doesnt fishtail like my retired inflatable kayak.

I can get in so many positions on this thing, kneeling really gets some speed going, the seat, standing, lie on my belly and paddle like a surfer even. I watched some utube videos on how to use the inflatable paddleboards and recommend that to save learning anything the hard way.

Such as: dont leave just leave it on ground in the sun for over an hr. I LOVE IT. ps: it really looks built to last, I’ve just been out twice, be heading out again today!.

Certainly awesome quality and I was excited to buy it for a trip. However, I was very disappointed to find out, that the board has no glide to it. The minute you finish your stroke, it slows down immediately without any glide at all.

I’m not sure if it is the rather pronounce wedge shape due to the rather wide center and short length (11’6”) or the fact that the material on the underside is less smooth than other inflatables. It is probably a combination of both.

It is also a good 20% heavier than most boards that size. I noticed that on my much cheaper bodyglove board, the glide is significantly better. The underside on that board has a very smooth film in the underside, that seams to let the water pearl right off from.

I do love the NRS quality and the 20psi make it a very ridged board. If NRS can make that change to their boards than er least the 14’ could be a fast board. I did try the 14’ and that is much faster, but it still does not glide as well as others.

I used it in the ocean, for fast flowing rivers it would be awesome.

My NRS escape was bought used in like new condition directly from NRS. I loved it when it worked. I had it less than 3 years, and treated it extremely well. Always stored indoors, left inflated for one summer season in New England, and this season it was inflated and deflated once a week.

I noticed two minor leaks on the seam (no impact damage or punctures), and contacted NRS. They said it’s an interior seam leak which is difficult to repair. They declined any warranty coverage or responsibility because it was bought from their own store used.

Normally I’d understand that, but it’s an interior seam leak within the products warranty period (had it been new), and nothing I did. I was offered a cheaper, smaller, and wider SUP as a replacement (which did not suit my usage or needs), and so I declined.

When I asked about repair, I was told they can’t do it in house. When asked about repair facilities, it turns out there aren’t any in my state or nearby that are certified. These things cost far too much money to not have a good faith warranty policy on a manufacturer defect.

Buyer beware.

This is a follow up review. I have a couple different NRS boards – a Thrive and 2 different lengths of Escape. The boards themselves are well made and handle nicely, but the fin attachment system is awful.

The only good thing I can say about it is it’s easier to use than the industry-standard fin box that NRS’s competitors use – no screws involved, so it’s very quick to attach/remove fins. On the other hand, my NRS boards have less glide than similar designs by other companies.

I’m thinking it’s because of the shape of the fin box. Even worse, the plastic NRS uses for the fin box is very easily deformed. Once deformed, it can’t be bent back into shape. Your only option is to replace the fin box, which is a painstaking process involving MEK (a nasty solvent that will dissolve both your board and your brain if you aren’t careful), a tiny brush, and hours of patience.

I once made the mistake of storing two of my NRS boards on top of one another partially inflated for a couple of weeks in a climate controlled garage. The stomp pad of one board was in contact with the fin box of the second board during storage, and this little bit of pressure deformed the fin box enough that the fin would no longer fit.

That’s how I got to learn about replacing a fin box :(. Just recently, I stacked two boards on my roof rack to bring them home from a river trip. Again the stomp pad of one board was pressing against the fin box of another.

It’s hard to avoid fin box contact when boards are stacked on a roof rack, because staggering the boards enough to avoid fin box contact leaves them in a bad position for stability. I figured for a short trip the contact would be a non-issue, especially with the little storage plate inserted in the fin box.

Wrong. I now have another ruined fin box, and I just noticed that the spare that I bought after my first repair experience is cockeyed – looks like a manufacturing defect. Wish I’d noticed that back when I first bought the spare.

I like NRS a lot as a company, but when it comes time to replace these boards, I will buy a competing brand that uses a better fin attachment system.

This SUP is made of quality materials and feels very sturdy and heavy-duty. I have owned a total of 8 SUPs over the last 14 years and currently have 4 in rotation. I waited several weeks to review this one so I’d have time to try it out in a variety of conditions.

I paddle on Lake Michigan which often has strong cross-currents and 2-4 foot waves. This board is not suited to this environment. It is lightweight and doesn’t track well in wind/wave conditions. I feel like I’m fighting both the board and the water constantly.

Also, I’m used to a full carbon paddle so the “carbon blend” paddle feels heavy, especially when fighting the waves as I am forced to here. The board does perform well in flat, windless conditions with little to no cross-current.

I love that it provides grip for my 60# dog(s) to accompany me and it is easy and quick to inflate with the included hand-pump. I’m a small to medium-sized woman (5’5″ and 120#) and was able to inflate the board fully in just under 10 minutes.

The board came quickly, is available in great color combinations and seems like it could be fun in specific conditions which unfortunately are not mine. The boards I have the most fun with here are narrower (27″-30″) planing hull hard boards that cut through the waves and track well even in cross currents.

Also, I highly recommend going with a full carbon paddle to minimize unnecessary exhaustion when paddling for several miles – that’s enough of a workout without running the risk of elbow and shoulder strains.

Bought the pioneer 2. 0 corral; took it out once on a hot 100 degree summer day and it was awesome! We loved how it compared to the hard board we bought from Isle 6 years ago; that is the reason we bought the inflatable paddle board from Isle.

However, when we took it out the second time on a hot day, and started to inflate on the edge of a lake, the bungee cords adhesive started coming undone, then the padding where the coral foam lay on also started coming undone.

The Velcro strap on the side also fell off, this made for a very frustrating day going out to relax on the lake. No relaxing when your gear is coming undone and you have to use the the very bungee cords to hold your things so they don’t fall in to the water.

Very disappointed in this product. The quality of this product was very disappointing!.

This is a second review. I had already purchased an inflatable and enjoyed it so ordered a second. Unfortunately the second arrived looking used and not in the best condition upon first glance. We have it a shot anyway but after about 30-45 minutes on the water it popped.

After speaking with a couple of people that offered a replacement or a refund, I didn’t feel like my concern and lack of trust in the product and company were that big of a concern. Someone finally gave me an option of any board to replace this one or a refund.

But after hearing how there was a manufacturing error with this model and many of the same complaint, my faith in what I thought was a reputable company, had been lost. I did get my refund from the customer service manager but I won’t be buying from them again.

2 stars only because they refunded me otherwise it would be Zero because of the product and all the mess ups.

Took this out for several hours on the lake. Worked excellently. It took quite a bit of energy to inflate to the proper PSI level but doable. I am not a particularly strong person in my upper body so if I can do it, most people could if they are at least a slightly fit adult.

Excellent value for the money. Seems pretty durable thick rubber. I did encounter some large rocks in a shallow area and it didn’t even leave a scratch. The only critique I could leave is that I wish I had something to attach to paddle to so it doesn’t sink if I were to fall in the water, but I can easily purchase that separately.

Also loved that it is only 9 feet and I was able to fit it inside of a small Subaru Crosstrek if I put the seats down. It fits perfectly from my front windshield all the way to back window on the passenger side when inflated, and I can easily close the back hatch.

Starting with the board, it looks amazing with vibrant colours. It tracks well, has good speed and a comfortable pad for standing. It would be better if it had a grab handle on the bow and some more D-rings than just the one on the stern, but these things are minor.

The fin is a little more awkward to attach/detach than some other boards, but again, this is minor to me. The backpack is pretty good. It has good sturdy wheels which is really nice, but the shoulder straps and waist belt aren’t as padded and comfortable as some backpacks from other brands.

The biggest shortcoming of the package, though, is the paddle. I think this is where Voltsurf could really improve. Although I do like the angled blade, the overall choice of materials and the quality of the quick-release mechanism to join the top section of the shaft are below par.

For the same price point, iRocker now includes a fully carbon paddle, which is much lighter and stiffer. So, overall, I really do like the board. It looks great and performs well. I just wish it came with a better paddle.

I recently received an 11’ Orange Rover Inflatable paddle board. I was initially reluctant to purchase an inflatable SUP. My only experience was with a solid board. My wife ordered hers first, and after trying it I was convinced that you give up nothing in performance and gain a lot in convenience.

I was so impressed with hers that we ordered another one for me. The SUP feels solid, stable and tracks incredibly well even in rough water. The quality of Canadian Board Co. products is absolutely fantastic.

I have noticed some improvements since my wife received her board. The backpack has been upgraded and the three piece telescopic paddle has a groove in the shaft of the handle to keep it from twisting in your hand.

The electric pump was definitely a good purchase and will give you more time on the water and less time pumping up your board on shore. Overall I am extremely happy with my new board and excited for next spring.

This paddle and these equipments are of quality. This large size allows you to do sports exercises on it, and the max weight of 150 kg allows the use for 2 people. The mint chewing gum color is very nice.

Absolutely a great board on all fronts and for those considering an inflatable in this category, just cut to the chase and do it. I have had gatorshells in a 12. 5 Bug Slinger and a 14 ft Rackham for general paddling and a fishing platform with most days out on various lakes in the Adirondaks and usually on smooth water.

With my wife’s gatorshell and my Rackham, we have our rooftop loading method down but the inflatables load up easy in our SUV and this has worked out well for transport on trips with multiple destinations.

The hand pump works great with a transition from a 2 way setting to the 1 way setting to finish inflation off as things involve a heavier push towards the end to get to the desired psi. The powered inflation also works great with the added benefit of tending to the other thing to get in the water such as leashes,coolers,racks, etc while the boards are inflating.

Before all of this though, the carry cases containing the board, 3 section paddle, hand pump & fin are an easy haul from the house to the truck. Back to the water. the inflatables, including the Rackham and my wifes flood move through the water and paddle with efficiency and stability.

Love the gatorshells, but if you could only have one, the preference might be with the inflatables. As for features, the Rackham covers it all from Kula and tie downs to choices in rack systems, paddle sheaths and a nice fin attachment pin.

When the day is done, the powered system provides for a very thorough deflation which makes folding up the board and placing it back in the bag much easier. Removing the paddle sheath is also works well with this process.

Long and short of it, both the Rackham & flood are great choices for inflatables with the usual attention to detail from BOTE. Almost forgot the Magna -Pod. Love these boards. Like the video says, if you’re looking for the right board to cover it all.

I was in the market for an inflatable kayak that would be sturdy enough to tour with while bringing my 60 pound pup (who loves to rock the bote), occasionally fish from, and occasionally pack with gear to camp tour.

I had not even considered a SUP, but I am so glad that we found this bote. The Great: The inflatable seat is comfortable for paddling; I was worried about the lack of foot pegs when paddling, but it wasn’t an issue at all with the shape of this seat.

The stability of this board cannot be understated. I frequently stand up to get to the front or back of the board and my pup jumps off and then climbs back on. When I’m out with my partner, I’m also fishing from this board.

I feel less likely to capsize in this than I have in other inflatable kayaks. I like that there is enough space to bring gear (coolers/ dry bags/ fishing gear/ lots of space). I also purchased the Apex pedal drive and rudder combo\– I feel like I get decent speed and steer control with the pedals and rudder.

This has also really helped me out in extreme currents or wind. I love the duality of this board. I wanted a kayak, but every once in a while, I go out SUPing with friends, and can do both with this.

Lastly, I specifically wanted an inflatable to come with me while traveling (generally van camping). While I wouldn’t call this super compact, it’s really cool that I can fit this deflated board and accessories in a car trunk.

The inflatable & pedal drive was a game changer for me, and a huge reason I purchased this board. The Bad: This is heavy and bulky when fully inflated (~45 pounds, wide, and nearly 12. 5 ft long without accessories) From a dock, two people are needed to lift and place this into the water (this isn’t as much of an issue when you slide into the water from the shore).

Even when using as a standard SUP (no accessories), to get this from my car to the shore, I need to use a cart. I am 5’3” and cannot grab the middle handle of the board because my arm is not long enough to hold this under my arm and reach the center grab handle (e.

g. how you picture carrying a paddle-board). Even though this is an inflatable, it takes up a lot of space (it’s bigger and sturdier than other inflatables). This is OK for me, but is important for some folks to know.

The provided seat is not great for pedaling. Because your hips and knees are virtually in alignment while you are pedaling with the pedal drive, your core is engaged (more so than riding a bike). Thus I push on the seat back more when pedaling than when paddling and the adjustable seat straps slide (to looser position).

I end up in a nearly laying-back (flat) position when pedaling. I plan to purchase an aftermarket kayak seat to rectify this. The pedal drive cannot be used in shallow water. When pedaling over rocks or branches (like through the mangrove branches), the pedal drive will catch.

It is not flexible and doesn’t bend out of the way. The only way to get through shallow waters is to pull the pedal drive up and out of the water, which also leads to another con. The propeller (which sits in the water and is attached to the pedals) is extremely difficult to remove while sitting on the board in the water.

I’ve had to get into the water and push up from underneath to push this up out of the water onto the bote. To remedy this, I’ve started using a fabric strap that lays under the port cover, so that when I need to take the propeller out, I can pull up on the strap from my seat on the board.

Overall, for my general use I am extremely pleased with this inflatable SUP. It checks all of the boxes that I wanted to use this for and then some; and all of the cons are things that I’ve been able to modify/ work with.

Everything about this board sounded great to me. I focus mostly on long single day or multi-day touring paddling where I am camping and/or fishing. Occasionally I paddle around on a lake with friends for a couple hours, but for the most part my focus is on touring.

The idea of a rack for my rods is great, the idea of a stable board is great, the idea of built-in clips for a carry strap is great, the idea of the stashpod (drink holder) is great, the idea of all the modular components was amazing and exactly what I wanted.

Unfortunately the execution was terrible. Right out of the gate the board is far too heavy. I knew this would be the heaviest board I had ever purchased, but with a 14′ span and scale tipping weight this is just too ridiculous to handle.

If you are launching by yourself and there is even the slightest bit of wind then good luck holding onto this board and walking to your destination. Easy rebuttal, “just get the wheels attachment”, ummmm yeah and then what just leave wheels laying on the beach while I paddle for hours or days? What happens when I get the next island or sand bar? Should I have packed these awkward wheels and bring them with me? “Ok, just buy the carry strap”.

Yeah, back to the fact that this is 14′ long and over 50lbs. It just doesn’t carry well, even with the strap. Wind will always be your enemy with a board, but the dimensions and weight are just too extreme.

Either way, you will likely need a friend to help you load / unload this board and get it to where you want to launch. Most of my boards have planing hulls and some have recessed decks. Generally a good design, however this board is too long and too nose heavy.

The result is that the nose blows down wind too easy as the paddle position is too far behind the weight. Basically you are left fighting even the slightest wind or current to try and stay on course.

The overall paddling experience is slow, slow, slow and you end up fighting the direction of travel the entire time you are on the water. If you ever paddle with the wind at your beam, well good luck.

it will be miserable. Honestly this is the slowest board I have ever paddled. The idea of the stashpod seems ideal. Maybe it was just my board, but the threads were a poor fit for the cap and made screwing and unscrewing a huge pain to deal with.

The deck pad is just personal preference, but I found the pattern and feel underneath my feet super annoying. Alright, now for some benefits. The rack for fishing rods is dope, the bungies front and rear are good quality and well laid out, and the construction of the board was fairly solid.

All in all, I wanted to believe. So much so, that I spent a couple seasons on a board that was miserable. At the end of the day I sold the board to a noob who just wanted a lazy float out on the lake.

Frankly, that is probably all this is good for, however you could find a much better board for just doing gentle flat water paddling on a lake (at half the price and half the weight). Bye bye Bote, never again.
