An induction cooktop uses magnets to heat up your cookware, which means it’s more energy-efficient than a gas or electric cooktop. It’s also very easy to clean since there are no open flames or hot coils.

IšverstiShow in original languageJust got it installed in my son’s apartment. I barely cook before. But since my son works busy, I must cook for him now. I think I will enjoy cooking in the future. Beacause this cooktop get hot instantly, it can get water boils in 3 minute.
Which can help me cooks more quickly. I often fried steak and cook pasta at once. Almost 0 residual heat from the coils, un- like on a burner, keeps house cool, and is also safer for kids being around the kitchen.
This cooktop requires magnetic cookware, like stainless-iron-or some other induction ready cookware, but induction cooking is faster and more accurate then gas cooktop and radiant cooktop. Very happy with the purchase.
we are enjoy using it. love the black ceramic surface. it is non-scratch,and very easy to clean. Highly recommend !.
IšverstiShow in original languageThe main (selectable size) heating element / burner in my existing major brand-name cooktop went bad. For the price of the element, two other components that would have been needed, and shipping, it was almost as much as this entire cooktop.
So, I took a gamble and decided to purchase this induction cooktop. Glad I did. Almost a year later, it is still working flawlessly. Just make sure your cookware is induction compatible. Not all of our was, be we knew that ahead of time.
Works excellent with our stainless cookware and cast iron. 4X less expensive than big name brands! Works excellent and very happy with purchase!.
IšverstiShow in original languageThis is an early review occasioned by satisfaction with the product. A few months ago we bought a 36” Empava cooktop from Amazon. It was easily the worst experience ever encountered with Amazon and certainly with the manufacturer.
It was badly handled in almost every way and it is not yet over with a pending return of the second defective unit shipped by Amazon. Then we searched on google and found this one. In comparison thus far the Sincreative cooktop is outstanding.
The controls are easy to manipulate. The power is acceptable. Installation was simple. I would recommend this item to everyone.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleThis is our first induction stove top. Our beautiful gas stove finally gave up the ghost and I was hesitant to go back to electric. After reading up on the effects of natural gas fumes on the environment and in the home, we decided to try electric induction.
So far, it has exceeded expectations. My main hesitation with electric was the slower rate of heating up vs. gas. You can put that concern aside, though! I have performed several highly scientific 🙂 demonstrations for friends and family showing how fast a sauce pan of water comes to a boil.
Starting with cold tapwater, tiny bubbles begin to form on the bottom of the pan literally in less than 30 seconds and 3–4 cups of water come to a full, rapid boil within two minutes. Once you are at a rapid boil, you can adjust the induction element up or down and the effect is immediate.
The only thing I miss about our old gas stove is that we could carelessly toss our favorite cast-iron cookware around on it without any fear of damage. The upside is, we got to get some beautiful, brand-new lighter weight induction compatible cookware, which was fun.
The cast iron is still very much induction compatible. We just have to handle it very gently on the glass cooktop. After a month of use, the induction stove top has far exceeded expectations.
TraduireAfficher dans la langue originalePluses. Love the gray color, especially for light countertops. It blends in vs. sticks out like a big black hole. Love induction cooking. Love the No-knobs. Easy to use AND clean.
Love the burner lock feature so they don’t get turned on by accident. Negatives. The big burner is way too big for most pots. My induction cookware set doesn’t have a pot or skillet big enough, Thus I will NEVER use it.
(Note: your pot has to fit exactly into or over the dark gray ring. ) The small burner is too large for my small sauce pot. It will work on only my pots and skillets I can already use on the two left burners.
Thus, there are only two functional burners for the pots and skillets included in my induction cookware set. A HIGHLY expensive price tag for two functional burners! Be aware of this drawback, if you’re looking at this one.
The burner I would use the most (front left) never worked. Getting GE help and service has been a NIGHTMARE! GE’s service on its (expensive) products is a REALLY huge disappointment! I had always had a high opinion of GE.
I guess that is because I never had to get them to stand behind and fix a faulty new appliance they delivered from their factory. It makes me wonder about their overall quality control.
TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleThe only cons are we wish it was quieter and the controls were more responsive. When you turn on a burner with a pot/pan it has a very strong “electric” sound which was a surprise.
A very picky critique would be to have the large burner in the middle because with the current placement if you use the big burner you can’t use the small single burner at the same time. If the big burner was in the middle, it’d easily offer the ability to have 3 pans/pots on the cooktop at once.
3 pans can fit depending on the size. In the photo below they are a 9″, 10″ and 11″ frying pans. Also note that is is one of the deepest cooktops we found which prevented cabinets from being directly underneath it due to air flow requirements.
While we’ve only been using it for one month, we’re happy with it. It heats up quickly (boiling water in less than 4 minutes) and cleans up easily. It has nice temperature settings and very responsive.
This was installed in an island and cools off quickly. The free pan that came with it is absolutely useless! You need to install 2 apps on your phone in order to even set up the pan before cooking with it.
In an information age, I’m not wanting to share all that information nor use a pan that requires a battery in the handle and 2 apps to make it work. I burn my food already despite not being distracted with my phone.
(Apologize for no photos. it won’t let me upload).
NuWave NuWave’s precision induction cooktop (PIC) gold offers precise temperature control with the simple press of a button. You can adjust the cooking temperature in 10° increments between 100 °F and 575 °F (Sear) for a total of 52 precise temperature settings.
The PIC’s induction technology heats the cookware directly, not the surrounding area, making it incredibly safe. With no open flame or hot coil, there’s virtually no risk of fire. Utilizing 1500 watts of power, the lightweight and portable PIC allows you to cook gourmet meals virtually anywhere.
It even offers state-of-the-art programming technology with 100 hours of memory that allow you to program your favourite cooking procedures. A 10. 5” hard anodized Duralon healthy ceramic non-stick fry pan is included.
This versatile pan is the perfect complement to the NuWave PIC gold, allowing you to cook your favourite foods without adding any unhealthy fat or oil.
IšverstiShow in original languageI started using Nuwave induction cooktops in 2006, two years after they first were introduced to the market. I first purchased 2 of the base units and they were used usually twice daily.
They lasted about 7-8 years. After that, I upgraded to the Pro and now the Gold. You might be surprised to know that you can put a HUGE, 23 Qt pressure canner on these units; CAREFULLY, and set them to SEAR, and have them heat up in no time flat.
I’m not sure what the weight limit is on the surface, but I’ve been using them the last 2 years for canning, without any problems. You will need a 20 amp circuit per cooktop, if you are running 2 for canning.
When I say canning; food preservation, I mean a LOT of food. We live on a homestead and are Pescitarians and grow all our food for a full year. So these induction cooktops get a good workout. Why induction cooktops? They are awesome for precision cooking.
Once you start using one, EVERYTHING comes out perfect. Why? It’s the precision watts in combination with the small increments in temperatures. You can make the perfect omelet and eggs over easy, every time.
Fabulous delicate sauces, and even sear your vegetarian “meats,” like TVP-based goodies that are loaded with a lot of herbs for flavor. I highly recommend the NuWave PIC Gold and other NuWave induction cooktops that have the 3 WATT settings.
IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve had mine for several years and love it! Iron ware, enameled ware, stainless steel, anything a magnet sticks to, and cookware with induction plates work really great.
Aluminum does not. I love the timer, the range of temperatures which is I believe greater than any other brand cooktop. Unless it is set beyond, I found mine shuts off after 60 minutes. Mine is beginning to go out.
I will be getting another soon. An egg covered in water, set on 1500 watts, 275⁰ for 12 minutes, is soft boiled exactly to my taste. I’m still experimenting in addition to using my cookbook, and enjoying all the possibilities.
A 9-inch skillet came with it, but I use a 10-inch skillet, a 4-quart enameled pot, and all stainless steel pots frequently and successfully!.
IšverstiShow in original languageThe best investment I ever made for the kitchen. I have had mine for 10 years. The programmable feature is essential for me. I set it at a high temperature for a few minutes and then schedule it to lower the temperature for the time required and walk away.
I can rely it will cook as programmed and when I come back my food will be ready (even when I forget it). To my knowledge other cooktops of this type do not have this programmable feature. Very reliable and I would never buy a stove again.
These cooktops are efficient and easy to put where I need them. Can even take them to a potluck to cook or keep my food warm. Use them several times a day and am delighted with the results every time.
A great gift too for dear friends. Can’t say enough about NuWave-Pic. It has improved my cooking results tremendously.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe love this cooktop. Our original coil cooktop bit the dust in Oct and we had been in cooktop hell for 3 month. It took us until January dealing with several different retailers to actually have a working cooktop again.
We replaced the original with a low end regular glass cooktop which did not have enough power to boil water. We returned it and purchased another higher quality one which did not fit into our counter top even though the dimensions should have worked.
We returned that also. We had never used induction before so we were somewhat cautious about the investment as it meant replacing most or our cookware. On recommendation of several neighbors, we thought we would try it.
We are very glad we did even though there is a learning curve to using induction because the timing of cooking is somewhat different. After a lot of research, we settled on this one. Home Depots website was very helpful.
There is more than enough power for high temperature cooking and large volume boiling–the Power Boil on all the elements is excellent. The cooktop dropped into our counter perfectly so it fit exactly as the measurements were listed.
It was the auto sizing of the elements that sold us on this particular model. Many other brands and models seemed to be VERY specific about the size of pots and pans that could work on their elements and all the elements on this one work well for various sizes.
Also, we especially like the precision you get with the temperature settings and the fact that the change in temperature is immediately. The ease in cleaning is fabulous. One thing to make note of is that this appliance comes with aluminum wiring and most homes now have copper.
Proper connection between the two is necessary. We are very pleased with this Fridgedaire product and with Home Depot as the supplier.
IšverstiShow in original languageWe bought this cooktop 5 months ago and love it! All the benefits of induction ring true. Heats fast, power easily controlled, and no scorching overflows onto cooktop.
I have not had to scrape anything off the cooktop since we purchased it. Wet paper towel has kept it clean! To address the cons: Noise – It does make a hum especially when using the boost or power feature, but its one of those things you get used to and is not a big deal.
Touch controls – This is a bit of an annoyance. Sometimes if you move the pan or set some ingredients you are about to add near/on the controls, all burners get turned off. Usually you don’t realize it until your pan has cooled.
We are getting better at avoiding this issue, but it is sometimes hard to prevent. Last issue we are currently dealing with is the glass top broke. It is weird, when looking around the edge, their is a small (1/2 mm) gap between the glass and the support that the cooktop sits on.
We had a plate fall, striking the edge, chipping the glass and creating a crack across the cooktop. Fortunately, the cooktop is under warranty and Frigidaire sent someone out to look at it. We are currently waiting on replacement glass top to come in for the final repair.
Frigidaire and the service company has been very responsive! I only wish there was a trim ring to protect the edge or support it from underneath better to prevent this from happening. Overall we still love it and won’t ever go back to a standard electric cooktop again!.
IšverstiShow in original languageI purchased my induction cooktop on 6/27/2021. I didn’t receive it until July 2021. In the year that I had it, we would occasionally get the “E9” error message. When we did, we shut off the power to the cooktop and then back on after a minute and that “fixed” it.
In September 2022 this happened again but nothing we did would make “E9” go away. I called customer service and was told that i was just outside of the warranty window and they referred me to repair companies.
The repair person I use told me I likely need a new board and burner which would cost $530 for the parts alone, not counting the labor. I spent $720 this cooktop, so fixing it won’t be worth it. I feel cheated by Frigidaire.
I thought this was a brand name that was reliable. Is there anything more that can be done for me?.
5. Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop Countertop Burner Induction Burner with Timer and Sensor Touch 1800W
Package Quantity : 1
Color : Black
Size : 1800W
Duxtop Induction Cooktop – 1800-Watt Portable Countertop Burner – Trusted for More Than 10 Years! Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop, Countertop Burner, Induction Burner with Timer and Sensor Touch, 1800W 8500ST E210C2 FEATURES: Convenient & Portable Induction Burner: Duxtop induction cooktop offers both temperature and power modes for convenient and efficient cooking.
Lightweight, portable induction burner makes handling and storage easy. Perfect for dorm rooms, home kitchens, backyard cooking, RVs, boats, etc. High Efficiency & Safe: Choose from 15 preset power levels (200W to 1800W) and 15 preset temperature level settings (140°F to 460°F).
With an 83% energy efficiency rating, an induction cooker is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves yet provides quick heat-up and faster cooking times. Safety & Easy To Clean: Safety lock button keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set or to keep a child from injuries such as scalding.
With no open flame or heating element, food does not burn-on the glass cooktop so it’s easy to clean—just wipe with a damp towel. Induction Ready Cookware: As an induction stove relies on the cookware itself to heat, it’s essential to choose cookware with a magnetic bottom, whose diameter is at least 5 inches.
The auto-pan detection will shut the unit off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected. PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS: Brand: Duxtop Material: Glass Color: Black Heating Elements: 1 Controls Type: Touch.
I purchased my first Duxtop induction cooktop over one year ago to use on our sailing yacht, I recently purchased my second one because I can’t live without it at home. It’s perfect for the boat because it’s very safe – there are no flames, no heat coming off the cooktop, easily selectable temperature, a timer, and super easy to clean.
It rapidly gets pots/pans up to temperature. The cooktop doesn’t get hot, just the pot/pan gets hot. You can put a pot of water halfway on the cooktop and get water boiling and put your hand on the other half of the cooktop and it’s not hot.
The 140 degree setting is perfect for keeping a pot of chilli or green beans or whatever warm at the correct temperature so food is in the “safe” temperature range. I use the 180 degree setting with a large pot on top when I need an extra crock pot and something is going to slow cook for a long time.
The 210 degree setting is perfect when you want to boil – it’s not a rapid boil – just a slow boil like cooking chilli for hours without it boiling over or burning on the bottom of the pot. It’s nice when cooking something like eggs or fish – if you see the food is cooking too quickly then just push the “minus” button a couple times to reduce the cooking temperature so you don’t burn the food, or when it’snearly done and it’s going to be another 10-15 minutes before your family gets to the table then just turn the temperature down to increase the cooking time.
If you are melting butter or cooking something delicate then temperature selections below 250 degrees are perfect. If you want a good sear on a steak or pork chop then turn it up to 460 degrees – be careful because it gets up to temperature quickly.
I use this cooktop nearly every day, it’s so much better than using a conventional kitchen stove. My kitchen has a top of the line GE five burner gas stove and a Jenn-Air electric stove. I still prefer this Duxtop cooker most of the time.
It’s seems to be very well made, I don’t know why it doesn’t cost more (an old time friend who is a GE employee tells me it’s really old technology). Realize before purchasing any induction cooktop that your old pots and pans probably will not work.
Generally, if a magnet will not stick to the bottom of the pot/pan then it will not work. There are now aluminum pots/pans with steel enveloped in the bottom that work well. One time in a pinch I put a 9×9 steel brownie pan (with some water in it) on the cooktop and then put my old aluminum (expensive) pan in that 9×9 pan – perfect for melting chocolate.
The only potential drawback is thesafety feature of it staying on for only 170 minutes. That’s only an issue if I am using it like a slow cooker and want it to run for 4-6 hours. I just have to remember after 170 minutes to turn it on again.
I always recommend this to my friends – it’s a useful and wonderful addition to any kitchen. Dr. Bob ps – I just purchased one of those copper coated frying pans from a tv advertisement and it works really well.
I really like this Duxtop 8100MC product and would have given it a 5 star rating, except I bought it primarily to use for hot pot dinners and the fan is way too noisy and irritating to put it on a dining table with guests sitting around it.
Other than that it had great power and fine enough control for me (temperature, heating, and timer) and I liked the controls, size, and portability. I did some test hot pot cooking with it and really liked how it worked for cooking.
From reviews I read before buying this portable induction burner, the fan noise is apparently a fairly common problem with many brands, but as highly rated as this one seemed to be I was hoping the noise level was tolerable.
In the kitchen with other noise around it is tolerable (though still louder than I like it), and probably would be fine for use outside camping as well, but not in a dining room setting. They can make quiet, high volume fans for PCs, so why not for induction burners? I ended up returning the product and am still looking for one that is quieter, decent quality, and not several hundred dollars.
As described. This is a single burner induction stand alone cooktop. It heats quickly and is accurate. Induction cooktops only work on pans that are ferromagnetic, so iron, stainless steel, but not aluminum and my copper bottom Revere Ware pots do not heat up on it.
This ultra-slim induction cooktop from Rosewill lets you cook with the power of magnetic field. Position your induction-compatible cookware on top of it and enjoy faster and more energy efficient cooking.
With the touch LED control panel, you can adjust from a wide range of temperature & timer settings to cover your needs. An LED touch panel offers various settings to suit all your cooking needs, including 15 temperature levels from 140 to 460 degrees Fahrenheit, 15 power levels from 100 to 1500 watts, four temperatures plus four power presets and a timer from 1 minute to 3 hours.
RHAI-19002 is compatible with any cookware that can stick a magnet to, such as pots and pans made of stainless steel, cast iron, and enameled iron.
IšverstiShow in original languageIt takes a little time to get used to operating it; it is like learning a new language, but it is easy to learn from the instruction manual that comes with it. Once you do, it is very straightforward.
It works extremely well with consistent results every time. Just don’t think it failed to shut off when the cooling fan continues to run after the timer or a push of the power button shuts it down. This cool-down engineering feature is part of the design to make it last for more years than years than it would if marketing consideration deemed this too confusing for customers who are too lazy to read the manual.
IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve been using the 16001 (https://www. newegg. ca/p/N82E16896268111) almost exclusively for the last couple years. This one is slightly wider and deeper, but is nearly half as tall.
The fan sounds a little better, and the top is now all one surface instead of having that plastic spacer near the front that would inevitably be melted by a hot pan. The last model could go down to 700 watts before it started to cycle on and off, and it would only be able to get down to 300 watts with cycling.
This one can go as low as 500 watts without cycling, and can reach 100 watts. This will actually hold the water at a specific temperature perfect for sous-vide cooking. (It will still need some manual adjustments, but it’s a whole lot easier than trying to do it at 300 watts, which was enough to eventually heat the water to a rolling boil).
Something about the sound as it clicks on and off sounds cheaper than the last model. It also has a greater tendency to squeal at the higher powers, though that subsides once you get it seated right.
The pot also vibrates slightly, about as much as the last model. The LEDs are all below the top ceramic instead of having their own little windows. That makes the look cleaner, but it gives them an interesting hexagonal rippled appearance.
Still readable, so I like it. 9/10, would use four of these to make a $320 knock-off induction stovetop range.
IšverstiShow in original languageI’m new to induction burners but this Rosewill I just purchased is a no-brainer to operate and a culinary game changer! It heats up super fast and I’ve cooked almost everything on the low setting (and you have temp control options within each setting).
I can’t mention all the features in this review, including impressive safety features! I absolutely love it and highly recommend it! This review is not a promotion, just my honest opinion!.
The Classic Cuisine Induction Cooktop is a compact, lightweight, and easy-to-store single burner portable stove that is great for any home, RV, camper, or dorm room. Featuring 10 power settings from 200W1800W and a temperature range of 140460-degrees Fahrenheit, this portable cooktop allows you to cook however you want, wherever you want.
Built-in safety features include a safety lock and an automatic shut-off that turns the burner off if the pan has not been properly placed on the unit or once the pan has been removed. This electric cooktop is a hassle-free, easy to use, and energy efficient way to cook food without flames, gas, or heating elements.
I’m old school so when my electric burner went i decided to follow my sons advice and spend some money. I looked at the over 40 dollar range and this product came up. I had seen these and thought they were not safe.
how would you be sure they are off ? I have no young children so I went for it. First thing is you have to have specific pans this is important to consider being if you are going from electric to induction.
youll need new pans. to tell the difference between the two types bring a magnet with you when shopping I would not do this online. the magnet will stick to the bottom of the pan that is induction Second you have to reconsider cooking times and Temps and habits so if you’re a flipper and a shaker this is not for you.
this unit cooks incredibly fast I can cook a half a chicken in about 30 minutes in a fry pan The unit is a little larger than I expected and there is fan for cooling so placement is important. the instruction are in the plastic that covers the unit All in all I’m pleased with it clean up is just a damp cloth and mild dish soap.
for cooking its mainly just trial and error I started with eggs and worked up with other dishes till I got comfortable with it.
So far, so good. The only downside to it, since I haven’t had a real chance to use it; just made sure that it works well; checked each setting, but won’t be setting it up for regular use till nearer the end of the month.
I wish it had more. heft to it; felt a little more rugged, since I feel it’s a little on the ‘delicate’ side, as if it could get scratched or harmed if I don’t treat it with kid gloves. Like a glass vase.
That all aside, having used induction cooktop burners before, I like the easy-read everything and the correlating icons for the multiple functions. It did seem to take a while for the water to boil feature, since I can boil water much faster in my microwave; but since this will be the only ‘stove-top’ I have, I just hope it goes the distance.
This was just what I wanted. It took a minute to get used to how it operates, but once I mastered that, I found it to be efficient, easy to use and worth the money. I like how it won’t start if there is no pan on the burner and how it stops heating as soon as you lift the pan off the burner.
(you still have to turn the power button off when you are finished). Different from an everyday burner, but in a good way.

Reviews From Real Customers
I confirm I’ve written a review of my purchased induction range or cooktop on samsung. com including the statement “I received compensation for this review but the review is my own”. * I do not wish to write a review, especially not so soon after receiving the product.
However, it is required to redeem part of a promotion. I have been instructed to edit my review because it was too focused on the fulfillment of the order. I have added more details below. I was able to find one pan at the store.
When I cooked with it, the pan was heated to an adequate level and the food was made edible. It boiled water at an acceptable rate. It was shiny, and also black. The cooking surface is difficult to keep clean from fingerprints.
The touch area could use an oleophobic coating. The drone of the magnets is much louder with this unit than comparable units from other brands. It does have a 3800 watt burner in the middle, which is as good or better than any other wattage available in similar sized units.
However, the value does not meet the MSRP. Or most sale prices. Other items from competitors are just as capable for less money. The only thing you miss out on at a lower price point is wifi, which seems to do very little for the user experience.
We had an old electric cooktop (non-induction) that broke and we replaced it with this Samsung Smart Induction Cooktop. Induction cooking is the future folks! It warms the food extremely fast and you can precisely control the temperature.
When lowering the temp, it almost immediately responds. Because it is so fast, you’ll have to alter your cooking accordingly; as you’ll spend less time waiting for water to boil and such. Also note that since it is induction you may need new cookware.
We had to get rid of some old pans. Pairing the cooktop to the WiFi and SmartThings was very simple and easy. I can view the status of the cooktop on my phone and enable/disable child protection. That is all that you can do via the phone.
If you want to take your cooking to another level, you have to try induction cooking, it is amazing. I also recommend getting Cerama Bryte cooktop cleaner, it’s great for keeping the cooktop as spotless as possible.
Depending on how you cook, keeping the cooktop clean can be a hassle, as it is more apparent on the surface.
i received compensation for this review but the review is my own. We previously owned a Kenmore Induction cooktop that we had for several years. One morning it just quit working. We started looking for a replacement that was just black and no stainless steel trim around it.
We also wanted just the outline of the burners to show. We liked the looks of the Samsung and purchased it. It arrived within a week. (Our other concern was getting one in a reasonable amount of time.
) We had it installed and turned it on. Everything worked. Our old cooktop had a temperature control for each burner. On the Samsung, you just pick your burner and then go to a common area on the cooktop to control the temperature.
There is also a simmer and boost button that work well too. We have had no issues.
Prepare foods without needing your stove with this SPT SR-964TB modular cooktop that features electric induction heating for added safety. The 13 temperature settings and 7 cook levels help you prepare your favorite meal.
This is a convenient heating device, however there are a few takedowns. First make sure you are not placing it on a surface that is heat sensitive. The problem is not the cooking plate itself, but the fan outlet, the warm air that gets out could damage the surface material.
Second, don’t expect to heat water very quickly, 1,300 watts are not that powerful. (but that would be ok to simmer a stew for example). And last, the noise the fan makes is not very discreet. But as the price is reasonable, it is a ok product overall.
I am quite impressed with this technology. I feel like I step into the future each time I use it. I purchased it as a test to see if I’m ready for this technology in a new kitchen I’m planning. So far my test is going well and I’m glad I purchased it.
I’m using it alongside my older cast-iron element electric range, and I find I gravitate to the Sunpentown instead. In summer I’m sure this will be very welcome since there is no heat leftover afterwards to overheat the kitchen.
Other reviewers have well discussed the type of cookware needed. Basically, if a magnet sticks to at least the bottom of the pot, you’re good to go. The power rating of 1300 watts is more than adequate for all my needs so far.
It will sear scallops with very high heat, and then cool instantly to just barely warm if you choose which eliminates the need to move the cookware to a cooler spot. Heat responds instantly to temperature or power increases, and slows down just as fast.
No need to bother thinking about residual cooking time when switched off as you do with older style resistance burners. I have some cast iron pieces which seem to work even faster than the induction-purposed cookware.
Both types work fine. Surprisingly, the cast iron handle on my 10″ frypan did not get more than touchably warm since the heat concentrates to the bottom of the cookware. I think the cook levels which are based on wattage and the temperature selections which sample the actual heat in the pot are a useful design.
I tested the temperature settings with an electronic thermometer and the readings were accurate within a degree or two. Others have mentioned hearing a very faint clicking sound when in temperature mode, but this is normal.
Cooking by temperature demands a different kind of thinking, but then most of us adapted to the microwave oven after a little practice. A fan inside keeps the circuitry cool, which I think is quiet enough.
I don’t mind it, it’s just different. I gave only four stars for durability only because with less than two weeks of use I don’t feel I can fully answer that yet, but will update in a few months. It seems well built for its purpose, the ceramic glass is beautifully made, the design is sleek and easy to clean, and is surprisingly lightweight but not too.
The controls are logically positioned, easy to see and understand, and I like the overall design.
My father used to irritate me with that comment but all these years later of course I realize he was absolutely right. Read the instructions for this unit and you’ll have no problem with it. It’s pretty simple and easy to use and a great asset when you need an extra burner or maybe you just need one for a cabin with electricity or a room or whatever.
Make sure you have a magnetic pot or pan and you are good to go. The unit itself does not get hot other than the minor residual heat that comes from the pans after using it and it cools quickly with it’s own internal fan.
Make sure it is balanced wherever you place it, I had a slight slant where I first used it and some water boiled out and spilled onto the unit between the pan and the unit, and once the hard boiled eggs got jumping around in the pan the vibration of the pan and the wetness made it slide a little bit.
Keep excess water etc. off the unit and keep it balanced where you place it and you should have no problem. This “induction” unit is far superior to the old blazing red hot burners of the old days. I like this unit very much.

TraduciMostra in lingua originaleI have bought this model because it had largest pot size cooking area. However upon installation I have noticed that the glass cooktop was bowing upwards at the front and back ends.
I requested the replacement and Winning Appliances had very quickly arranged replacement to be delivered. This however did not change the problem. The glass cooktop still bowed the same way as the first one.
The customer service was unable to provide any further solutions. I decided to keep the cooktop as I do not trust the third cooktop to be any different. The cooktop looks unsightly, and really spoils the perfect kitchen feel in my newly built home.
Very Disappointed as I expected perfection after paying 2000 dollars for it. Another problem which I have encountered – was an installation. I have booked the installation ($280 fee) with trained technician from winning appliances to have the cooktop installed as required by Siemens.
When they arrived – they advised me that they do not use thermal – resistant adhesive (as required in the installation manual by Siemens) but instead they just use kitchen silicone to attach fitting rails to my granite bench top.
Now, Siemens clearly states that it has to be done with special adhesive but both times the technicians, to whom I paid money to have it professionally installed, had done it not according to the installation manual.
Very, very disappointed!!! What did I pay 280 dollars for? I could slap it on with some silicone all by myself. I wish I could attach pictures here to illustrate my point. 3 stars overall.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis is faster than my GE Profile induction we replaced. Mine did not come with the included griddle, came with a smart frying pan. Everything I’ve read and seen shows the included griddle- including my owner’s manual.
Adjusting the temp with the arc touch feature doesn’t work very well, but there are plus and minus buttons that get the job done. There are 20 heat settings per burner. There are custom options, such as auto lock and noise control, that the owner’s manual gives instructions for.
I’m not fond of the smart cooking thing, I don’t see a need for it but because profiles are indefinitely backordered we were forced to go with the monogram (our cut out is a very specific size and could only fit the black profile or the monogram which are the same exact size.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe have had the stovetop for about a month now and are relatively happy. It is easy to use and heats up very quickly. There are two issues. We knew before we purchased it that the only pots and pans that can be used are those that are magnetic.
What we did not know is that, in addition, the pots and pans have to be the same size as, or bigger than, the burner you put it on, or the stove will not heat up. We cannot use our small pots and pans because they are slightly smaller than the smallest burner.
The other issue is cleaning the stove top. You have to use a special cream cleaner, spread it around with a soft cloth and then buff long and hard to get rid of streaks. When there is cooking grease on the stove top I feel like I am simply spreading it around rather than actually cleaning it up.
Also, contrary to the impression I had from the marketing material, food can harden on the parts of the stove top that do not get hot. The cleaner comes with a device that has a razor blade on it to get off hardened food.
The likelihood of scratching the stovetop with that razor blade is high. So far I have been afraid to use it and instead have have very carefully used a scrubby pad that also comes with the cleaner. The bottom line is that you can eventually get the stovetop clean, but it takes a lot of careful work.
IšverstiShow in original languageWe bought our brand new house in 2009, including upgraded GE Profile appliances. In 2012, it wasn’t clear if our cooktop caused (or not) a fired that cost our insurance company way over $100K in repairs to our house.
At that time in 2012, we bought once again all GE Profile appliances. End of 2020, two of our cooktop burners had a portion that stopped working. Here we are again buying a new GE Profile Induction cooktop in February 2021 to replace the broken one.
Not 4 months into this new cooktop, one burner does not get as hot or as quickly hot as when we bought it and now it is turning off in the middle of cooking. On top of it, our GE Profile dishwasher’s door needs work, cause it got something loose and doesn’t hold open unless it’s all the way open, it actually slams down all the way.
Our GE Profile microwave’s turn plate stays running when we open the door until we close it and it has been repaired before as well as our GE Profile fridge. So, this is the last GE appliances we will acquire, unless GE offers them to us to try/test them for free and they’d have to provide all kitchen appliances at once.
We are definitely not wasting more of our money on this brand.
IšverstiShow in original languageThis is to replace a like unit #PHP960DM2BB. Was unhappy that 3 of the burners went out after just 11 years. Felt that they should have lasted longer for the cost. I might have tried a different brand but GE was the only brand of all brands on the market, that would fit in the existing hole in the granite countertop.
We love induction, ease of cleanup, heating speed, temperature control. Hopefully this unit is no different in those respects. As for the improvements: the burner location rings were hard to see while cooking and the pan would often be off the heating unit.
It is now much easier to see and locate the pan. It had always been a pet peeve of mine. I thought that the location of the controls timer and the large unit was was not well thought out, reversing those is much improved.
Joining and syncing the two left units is a wonderful change. I’m neutral on the controls for heating units starting at “L” or “H” as we cook in the mid ranges 4-7. We almost repaired the old unit when the left two units went out but then the large center unit got inconsistent so with the costs being he same for repairs and replacement, replacing was he only choice.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe were delighted that the learning curve in moving from propane to induction wasn’t nearly as scary as some predicted. Still fine-tuning what settings for simmers and for certain dishes.
We were fortunate to have a near-total fleet of All-Clad stainless pots and pans and LeCreuset Dutch ovens and multiple cast iron skillets. Only had two pans that didn’t make the jump to induction. Keeping the cooktop clean is one of the simplest kitchen chores now.
Before we spent far too much time dismantling the gas cooktop and scrubbing the grates and scouring the stainless steel. Clean-up is a snap. We use the recommended Bosch paste for anything that a damp cloth doesn’t take off.
One of the added benefits. our stainless steel pots and pans stay sparklingly clean. No more flame-produced grime on the underside. We have solar panels on the roof, a battery back-up system, a heat-pump hot water system.
The induction cooktop was the logical next purchase. Just wish we’d done it sooner.
IšverstiShow in original languageUnfortunately we have had a disappointing experience with our NITP068UC induction cooktop. The one we received is a poor quality product. It has been used no more than a dozen times since it was purchased and has failed completely.
The official Bosch Service tech was here today and indicates it is because one or 2 internal control boards have failed and the cost of each is $600-$800. This is not the quality workmanship and engineering we expected from a Bosch product.
We built the unit at the Ritz Residence in Philadelphia and installed all Bosch products. It seems like a poor decision now. Very disappointed in this product and not happy that we now have to be concerned with the stove, microwave and dishwasher.
IšverstiShow in original languageFunctions well but scratches easily. It was the first I used that large burner with my AllClad wok. The bottom of my wok is not rough, but still left some fine scratches.
I am super disappointed with Bosch. I replaced my perfect fine Dacor radiant cooktop to go induction. After many many years of using the Dacor, not a single scratch. I used the same set of AllClad cookware.
I am now very afraid of cooking on this cooktop. I have been using a piece of paper towel between the cooktop and the pan when I cook to prevent scratches, which is super annoying and users should have to resort to.
The 500 Series induction cooktop is sleek in design and offers quick and even cooking results. Induction: faster than gas and electric cooktops. Precise cooking, easy cleaning and more efficient. 17 power levels for each cooking zone.
We upgraded a 30 year old gas cooktop with this device. It is the best cooking surface I have used — even better than the lovely BlueStar gas cooktop. The even heat across a large fry pan makes cooking a pleasure for pancakes, frying chicken (any dish where you want even cooking across a surface).
The low settings are incredible. For example, reheating chocolate sauce you can keep it at 100 degrees for as long as you like. forget being able to do that with gas. The predictability, nuance of control, speed of response — better than I thought.
Nice safety features, too. I’m a convert! My only criticism is the two step adjustments for controls i. e. , pick a heating element, set a power level. Some inductions systems have separate dials for each element which makes it a single gesture.
I’m getting used to the Bosch. First world problem. My only concern is reliability. I have a 4 year warranty but can I expect it to last 10 years? This house has lots of 30 year old appliances that I have been upgrading, but it’s hard to accept that an “upgrade” is going to be have lower reliability.
All electronics eventually break. Given the sensible migration from gas to electric, induction is the best choice for cooking (if one can afford it). Really happy with this singular experience (i. e.
, I have not used any other induction cooktop so perhaps there is something better but I have no interest in looking further).
This is the second induction cooktop we have ever owned and the Bosch provides so much more value than the previous brand we owned. It has automatic sensors that turn on the cooking zone(s) of which the pot sits on when you turn the system on.
If you have a large griddle or pot, it will automatically turn on multiple cooking zones. What makes the Bosch even better than our previous cooktop is the fact that each zone has its own shutoff timer.
So say you want to steam carrots for twenty minutes, you can set it and forget it to concentrate on other aspects of the meal. Once twenty minutes is up, it shuts off automatically with perfectly cooked food.
Similarly you can set another zone to Auto Chef cook so the food will not burn. (Our previous induction cooktop just beeped at you and could only manage one timer) The controls are very easy to use and have the right amount of heat to either melt chocolate without a double boiler or boil a pot of water in under a minute.
Very well made and well designed. So glad we spent a little more to get the Bosch and not go with the less expensive induction cooktops as it is well worth the small amount added on.
I ordered a Bosch cooktop model: NIT8069UC/01 on December 2020. It was delivered and installed less than 1 ½ years ago in February 2021. The cooktop failed 6 months later in August 2021. Bosch came to replace an operating module in September 2021.
The cooktop has failed intermittently since then but would typically work after resetting the unit. Well now my Bosch cooktop is repeatedly failing again and the reset is not working reliably. I called for my extended warrantee.
They sent someone to troubleshoot the cooktop June 28, 2022. The gentleman said the cooktop needs 3 of the 4 burners replaced, the mother board replaced, and, it also needs troubleshooting for a short in the wiring.
I think this is extensive for a cooktop that is 1 1/2 years old and not used regularly. The extended warrantee company is willing to give me what I paid for the cooktop but now the cooktop is twice what I paid 1 1/2 years ago so I am not a very happy consumer to say the least.
I cannot believe I have had so many issues with a new cooktop and that these problems continually repeat themselves. My cooktop has had multiple issues and seems to be a lemon.

Juggling multiple dishes and not enough cooktop space can make cooking frustrating. Bosch induction cooktops with FlexInduction are designed to speed up dinner, making cooking faster and more efficient.
FlexInduction lets you combine two cooking zones into one for larger cookware. This allows you to accommodate pots and pans up to 9 inches wide and 15 inches long. Induction cooking directly heats your pots and pans instead of the cooktop itself for faster, more efficient cooking.
So you have a cooktop that delivers precise results with effortless ease. Sometimes you don’t want to wait for a pot of water to boil. The SpeedBoost function on Bosch induction cooktops adds even more power to speed up the cooking process.
So you can boil water twice as fast as conventional electric cooktops.
IšverstiShow in original languageBosch used to have a medium size burner in the front, not in the back. That was much better design because small burner is pretty useless. Now, food splatters to backsplash all the time, because customers use medium size burner often and it is in the back.
I also noticed that large burner often does not cook and shows error, if the cookware is not large enough. We did not have this problem with old Bosch induction. Heat shield also comes down too low so we had to put a heat proof tape to hold it.
I hope that there is not any more issue with this cooktop. Bosch service is horrible nowadays. We had to wait for several months to have them repair a refrigerator, it was still not fully repaired and they charged more than they were supposed to.
We could not repair other Bosch appliances because they do not even answer the phone. We are filing complaints.
IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve had my new cooktop for just a couple of days and have a good feeling so far. Compared to my last induction cooktop, a hybrid model from Electrolux, the Bosch seems better thought out, and just has a nice feeling of quality.
I appreciated the simplicity of the install guide – just a few pages. And the controls, which some users found confusing, are quite straightforward, if you spend a bit of time with the guide – which you should! After all, none of us are born knowing how to operate an induction range.
I immediately put the flex area to use with a very large oval casserole I often use to make chili – the “join” feature is a great design, and the reason I went for the Benchmark line. And I’m looking forward to using the power shift and individual timer features.
Finally, the ability to lock the settings for a half-minute or so while you wipe the control area clean is a great example of Bosch’s consumer-oriented thinking. You might think I’m shilling this thing unless I pick out a couple of nits, so here they are – what, really, is the difference between the extra power and extra speed features? One seems to relate more to boiling water, and the other to heating a saucepan, maybe, but what do they actually do differently? Why do we need them both? Finally, Bosch’s manual states explicitly not to use a heat diffuser to employ non-magnetic cookware like clay, stone, or copper pots.
Specialized heat diffusers, aka conversion plates in the induction world, are really quite common and are sold by any number of very reputable vendors. Does Bosch really just want users to be cautious? What is the actual issue? This is important to me because I have a beautiful Moroccan clay tagine, a heavy Brazilian soapstone pot made for feijoa and similar stews, and some lovely large copper pots that I was intending to use with this range, over no more than medium or medium high heat.
These are special-occasion cookware, really, but it’s a big deal not to be able to use them at all. Anwyay, moving on – so far, the unit looks and cooks great and is working exactly as advertised.

IšverstiShow in original languageIt took me a long time to acquire this cooktop since it was necessary to rewire the space for it. Plus, I had to buy a Bosch oven in order for it to fit in my existing space.
Then both appliances were on back order for several months. Now that it is here I have enjoyed using induction for the first time. I had to buy some new cookware, but many of the pieces I had do work.
The speed of induction is great, and the controls are nice once you get used to what they do, but this is true of all electronics. One design feature that I don’t like is the placement of the largest heating space.
It is on the back right when the front right would be far superior, not only because it is closer to the cook but also because having the two biggest heating areas next to each other makes it difficult to fit pans.
I don’t understand why the two smallest spaces are in front. Cleaning the cooktop is easy, and I like the keep warm control.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe cooktop has been installed and used for about 4 weeks, and so far it has been absolutely fantastic! We had another cooktop from another big brand that ended up failing immediately after the warranty expired, which was very unfortunate and also extremely disappointing.
Fortunately a local store was able to provide this new cooktop immediately and we got it because of our experience with their dishwashers and my personal experience growing up with Bosch in Europe. Not having any knobs makes the clean up very easy but the electronic touch control does take a little bit to get used to.
The boost function works great and really helps with getting water to a boil. We haven’t used the Auto Chef function, but I’m sure it’s great for those who may need a little extra help in the kitchen.
Overall, it’s been a great replacement and has been worth the money so far.
IšverstiShow in original languageI’m not at all impressed with this cooktop. I thought that with the Bosch name behind it that it would be a quality item. It takes forever to heat up and is horrible to keep clean.
I’ve had it less than six months and the glass is already scratched. It’s seems difficult to get quality appliances anymore. My last cooktop was over 20 years old. It heated fast and didn’t have any scratches.
I only had to replace it because we dropped a cast iron pan on it.
IšverstiShow in original languageThis cooktop came with my new condo in Honolulu. It works great and I have no issues with its functionality. However, after using it 9 months now I can not get the burner surfaces clean (this was an issue after just 2 weeks).
I’ve read the owners manual and called Bosh but they do not help with this issue. I did see another review on the Sears website for this exact cooktop that stated they to could not get the burner surface clean so I’m not the only one with this issue.
I’m not new to Bosh glass cooktops. I have currently have one in my California house that I’ve used for 11+years. This cooktop has no cleaning issues and looks almost as good as the day it was installed.
Unfortunately the cooktop in Honolulu looks terrible and worn out. This is a high end condo that I rent and so I need to replace the cooktop. Bottom line, don’t buy this model. Oh, I should mention the Bosh warranty does not cover the cosmetic appearance so no warranty for this issue.
See attached photos of this issue. Keep in mind I spent about 30 minutes cleaning the surface before I took this photo.
