Reviews From Real Customers
I am in a high-rise apartment in lower Manhattan and wanted to get some local over-the-air channels. Install was very simple. I like that it has a detachable coax cable and is so small. However, I spent over an hour moving the unit to various locations (in the window, behind the tv, on both sides of the tv, on the floor, in the middle of the room, upside down.
whatever you can think of) and picked up no more than 18 channels (rescanning each time I moved it). Of all the channels it would pick up only one was an actual “big” network channel and even that one would go in and out, all pixelated.
I know this is one of the less expensive antennas but there are reviews from good sources all over the internet about how this is a highly-rated one. The name of it “metro” even points to the fact that it is meant for cities.
Didn’t work for me at all in NYC so I returned it.
Works pretty well for reception. I’m close to the TV towers and even with this antenna it is a challenge to get my WCCO channel to come in properly. The problem with my previous antenna was the signal was too strong and the quality of the signal was terrible.
This antenna so far works pretty well for that channel, but the quality of the signal for other broadcast channels is then not as good as it was with the other antenna. It seems like a decent compromise solution now.
This Optostars 80 Mile Range Leaf OTA TV Antenna works GREAT!!! I had a white, similar OTA antenna but THIS pulls in more stations!!! With the older, white antenna, I would lose quite a few of the Over The Air channels.
As a matter of fact, when I changed-out the old antenna system for this one, with the new OTA antenna, I saw that I was receiving the channels that were lost on the old antenna! I LOVE THIS LEAF METRO ANTENNA!!!.

Reviews From Real Customers
I had purchased the MOHU SKY outdoor antenna (with amplifier) for my house in the country but tried it at the house in the city before installing it where it belonged. Stunning, crystal clear picture on about 30 local stations.
See my review of the SKY for details. So I bought a LEAF for the city place (also with amplifier) and hooked it up, first to 2 TV’s and then to just one while my wife got over her “COLD TURKEY” about giving up the cable.
While amazing compared to the cable, it sometimes pixelated and would lose signal on rare occasion. I attributed it to placement and did not worry about it. Well she finally called ATT and had them turn off the cable, I proceeded to hook up the antenna and amplifier to feed both TV’s.
Terrible picture on both sets where it existed, and many stations showed NO SIGNAL or POOR SIGNAL STRENGTH. I figured I would just have to buy a SKY for the city house, though we are no more than 20-25 miles MAX from the broadcast towers and the LEAF should suffice.
But first I conducted a quick test to see if there was some other weakness in the system. When I first hooked the two TV’s up I had the amplifier installed up in the attic next to the antenna. I decided to get one TV working right while I figured the problem out and went from the LEAF to a 2 way splitter and direct to both TV’s, figuring I would put the amp on one TV and maybe buy another amplifier to see if that worked.
The wife called out, “great picture now, what did you do?” I ran into the other room and the same story, superb picture and the full 30 stations, NO pixelation or weak signal messages on either TV’s.
With OUT the amplifier or the fancy white cable you get when you get a MOHU. So whether it is the amplifier or the white cable or both that are causing the problem, my pictures on my two televisions are gorgeous now, hanging off of ONE LEAF antenna with no need for any amplifier.
I wish I had tried just the LEAF originally before buying the amplifier, but well, a lesson learned. (Posted on 5/18/2014).
I called Mohu customer service (1-855-446-6648) and got right through to a very nice, fun and knowledgeable representative before purchasing this antenna. I was concerned about the phrase in the Amazon description that says “TVs labeled HD ready or HDTV monitors are not considered digital ready.
” My kitchen TV — the new Leaf’s companion — is labeled “HDTV monitor. ” Since it’s only a few months old, the rep said it should be fine. If you have the same concern, though, I’m not suggesting to ignore the Product Description but to call Mohu.
The rep even looked up my Tucson address on TVfool. com and said it’s a good thing I called since I was considering purchasing the Leaf Plus Amplified. He said I didn’t need to spend the extra bucks, and the amplified is for receiving signals from transmitters further from my home.
“People think more is better, but that isn’t necessarily so when it comes to antennas. ” According to him and a few other expert and user reviews I had read, amplified can actually interfere with closer tower reception.
I had been to TVfool. com as well as antennaweb. org before calling, but the Mohu rep went above and beyond to help me make more sense of the specs. I was delighted by the number of channels received (33).
For comparison, that’s about twice as many as my old rabbit ears HDTV antenna in the kitchen picked up. Before, I was missing the NBC affiliate, or could fiddle around and receive it at the expense of losing the CBS affiliate.
This antenna receives all the major networks plus PBS, their sub-channels and a few other stations I’d not realized existed, all without adjusting the antenna position or angle. The antenna worked right out of the box by placing it on an unobtrusive place on the wall without having to experiment with different locations.
And it looks a whole lot better than the old rabbit ears. Your mileage may vary greatly. The area towers here are located in three different directions on mountains surrounding the city, and my house is in the valley in the greater metro area with the towers four to 22 miles away by air.
You might need to experiment with placement, but I didn’t at all. I just put it on the wall where it was unobtrusive and am quite sure I’m getting all over-the-air signals, including HD, available in the area.
Be sure to take a minute to read the quick Get Started insert. Four easy steps. We cut the cable a long time ago and have even less justification for cable now with the Paper Thin Leaf. I refuse to pay for cable and deal with their price-gouging and lousy customer service.
I’m wowed by this antenna. It even picks up more channels than our supposedly digital-ready rooftop antenna connected to the main TV. I don’t know if that’s due to the respective locations of the antennas and TVs, or if it’s because of the great technology and design of the Paper Thin Leaf.
One thing I’m sure of is that it beats the old rabbit ears HDTV antenna, since it’s in the same location with the same TV. (Posted on 5/18/2014).
Originally I purchased ONE antenna because in one room I had no reception. It wasn’t the TV. I moved it to other rooms and also tried working TV’s in this one room. The problem was the room. So I purchased one Mohu Leaf Antenna and got all channels I expected, with no pixelation and MORE than I expected.
On a whim, I decided to try it on another TV in another room where the reception was GREAT. To my surprise I received many more channels – I guess about 8 additional ones that I had not received in the room with the best reception.
After that trial I ordered 3 more Mohu Leaf Antennas for the other TV’s in my house. All increased in the number of channels I received. I highly recommend this antenna. I live in a major city and also – before purchasing the first one – called the Mohu Leaf company.
The salesman was exceedingly helpful and suggested that because all the TV stations in my area are within 2 miles of the city, that I didn’t need a more powerful antenna since the basic Mohu Leaf has a 30 mile range.
Additionally he stated that to buy one with too much power sometimes adversely affects the good stations. I’ve told all my friends about it, and I post information about how to cut cable and still be entertained on a FB page called Off the Grid – https://www.
facebook. com/gridsavings I always recommend that Mohu Leaf be included in any cable cutting efforts as they really expand available channels. THANKS MOHU LEAF!!! Really the best antenna on the market! (Posted on 8/1/2014).

I have a high power antenna in my attic that is wired to the in-house cable but not all of the rooms have jacks. I bought two of these several years ago to use in those rooms. I have added a third tv in need of a stand alone antenna so have shopped around.
I have purchased several with great disappointment. I know what the alignment needs to be to capture the broadcasts in my area. With all the other brands I have tried, I cannot get all available channels unless I move the antenna around.
I never have to do this with this GE brand. It is by far the most affordable and have proven them to work. Even better than some amplified, much more expensive ones I’ve purchased and returned. This antenna has set the bench mark! FYI:You can look online to fine where your transmitters are located and will usually give you an approximate distance.
This will help in the placement of the antenna. The transmitters are approx 30-50 miles from my location and this little gem captures all of them no problem.
Just bought this today and can’t believe how well it works. Have it in my living room on the wall facing a window and didn’t really expect much but the reception is great. Tried it in the kitchen and placed it on window and it worked even better.
Since dish tv is in a dispute with nexstar I was not getting cbs and nbc local stations. Both are owned by nexstar. This antenna fills the gap!! Going back and getting another one for kitchen!.
Bought this one to replace another name brand one that I’ve had 6 yrs. I was sceptic because of the price and several of the revews, but took a chance. I live about 45 miles from the closest TV station/towers and a rural area, so was not expecting much, I get 12 chanels in HD and it may not seem like a lot but it’s decent stations, the top 3 networks and 3 of my favorite that play older shows besides I get tired of netflix’n it all the time.

i have had this for about a month. arrived undamaged in box. instructions were easy to understand. i am not very tech savvy and could figure this out without any difficulty. this provided all the major network channels with little interference.
we had difficulty with one where a tower faces the other way but we generally have difficulty with that channel. i liked that this brand came with accessories to assist in hanging the antenna. i happened to have a nail used on a previous antenna and used that but this was a first.
the packaging suggests that you can paint it to blend it in with your wall. although ours is not in a room i care about if i were to get a second in a more central location i would consider doing this.
The rise of online movie and TV show streaming has made cord-cutting an attractive proposition for those who would get minimal use out of an expensive cable subscription. While these fill most of TV’s void a la carte, local sports and news remain very much broadcast affairs, leaving online streamers with a hole in their ideal programming lineup.
Mohu gained an early lead in the digital antenna market with attractive designs and competitive pricing over their basic rivals, becoming synonymous with the cord-cutting movement. The Mohu Leaf Supreme Pro Indoor HDTV Antenna is the company’s flagship indoor model, advertising up to 60 miles broadcast range when used in conjunction with the powered inline signal amplifier.
In a distant suburb from a major city, the Leaf Supreme Pro brings in signal from the furthest distance I’ve seen yet in an indoor HDTV antenna, making this the best alternative to cable I’ve yet seen.
I was really pleased with how easy this antenna was to use and how well the channels come in so clear. This antenna is flat and doesn’t take up alot of space. It also has LEDs on the front of the antenna so you can adjust the placement to find out the best signal.
You can mount this behind a picture or by a window and the signal is still great. The cable is detachable, so you can detach and add a longer cable of you wanted to. The antenna has a 60 mile range and is full 1080HD and is 4k ultra ready.
I can pick up quite a few channels with this and they all are super clear. I really think this is a great antenna and saves space. I like that it doesn’t look ugly like other antenna I have used, so I am pretty pleased with the style and function of it.

Reviews From Real Customers
I could not be happier with the flatenna product. Easy to hook up. I made the switch about 7 years ago to a cheaper version of a brand that had a thin cable that ran to the product. I was very happy with it and pulled in about 14 channels.
I was very attracted to the flatenna after seeing some reviews on YouTube and a gentlemen on the channel highly rated the flatenna and talked a lot about the heavier coax cable making a huge difference.
When I got my flatenna and got it hooked up and ran the channel scan, it was able to pick up 26 channels. 10 more channels than my Wingard flat wave antenna. I was so pleased with the flatenna, that I immediately ordered another flatenna for my other TV.
I really believe that the heavier coax cable makes a world of difference with the amplifier as well. I would experience quite a bit of interference with my other antenna and look forward to seeing if the flatenna has the same interference.
I am in the process of moving and only hooked up to TV at my new home and don’t know for sure yet about interference until I get moved in on the 1st of Dec and I can sit down to watch some TV.
I have installed this antenna and am pleasantly surprised with its functioning. The antenna is very positionally sensitive,so needs to be adjusted even less than an inch to receive programs sometimes.
Weather will affect reception (ie rain, storms). The cable cord is very stiff and influences the antenna position by pulling it. I tried the window sill, the glass window, the wall near the window. All were ok sites.
However the best reception has been on a desk near the window using bookends to hold the antenna in position (due to the cables’ stiffness. ) I live in an apartment in Manhattan and face a Southern orientation away from TV stations.
This Southern orientation and tall building do not seem to interfere with reception. There are about 25+ channels received, however I only watch the national news and movies. This antenna is well worth the cost, especially after I installed the amplifier.
Since I watch TV only occasionally, this antenna’s cost is much better than paying for a costly cable hookup!.
We had a different brand flat antenna for a few years and the pixelation on the local CBS station was steadily increasing in the past several months to the point it was too frustrating to even try to watch that station.
This FLATenna with amplifier works great. We’ve had it for a couple of weeks. We have experienced no pixelation so far on any of the stations, including the CBS station. The definition on all stations is much improved and we get a sharp picture.
We love this antenna. We located the antenna on the top of the TV stand behind the TV. It is just lying flat. When we want to watch the CBS station, we move it across the room for better reception and it works beautifully.
I’m sure it could be permanently moved and tacked to the wall, but this works fine for us; the antennae is out of view behind the TV for all TV viewing except CBS.

Love that this HD antenna can be mounted (clamp) along the top edge of my flat screen television and its low profile makes it almost hidden from view! But it can also be wall mounted or placed on a flat surface like a tabletop or fireplace mantel.
Its amplifier also gives me great reception of local HD channels (but the reception will depend on your location from the HD broadcast sources). Very simple to hookup.
We cut cable last year, no longer have access to the local channels or their streaming apps. Live about 35-40 miles from most of the tv towers. Took about 2 minutes to install, placed it on the top of the TV and it practically disappears! It’s setup about 10 ft from windows facing southeast, and we pull in 42 channels, crystal clear!.

Tips 1. dtv. gov/maps is run by the Consumer Electronics Association and the National Association of Broadcasters. The interface hasnt changed in over a decade, but its simple and the information is useful.
Please visit website and find out what channels are available in your area 2. TV Fool is more complex but gives a lot more detail including gorgeous plots of theoretical signal strength 3. Strongly recommended without obstacles such as big trees, buildings or hills.
Do not place the antenna in the basement or low-lying areas where the radio signal is very poor. 4. The actual receivable range may highly dependents on your distance and location. Areas with large obstructions such in valleys, mountains, etc.
will reduce effective range. 5. Always re-scan channels after moving the indoor antenna, the result may be better.

I have to admit that when I took it out of the box I thought I had made a mistake. This antenna is about as thick as a piece of card stock paper and is as light as a feather. Yet, I decided that I would try it out and see.
To my surprise this thing really works. I live at the base of a hill with lots of trees, houses and apartments between me and the transmitter and this antenna was still able to pull in several channels.
Next, I kept on trying it in different locations and I got all the channels in my area. I figured out that it works best in the window. I heard that it works even better outside but I would need to get a longer cord to make that happen.
I am very happy with this item and I would buy it again for sure. ***Update***I was able to get about 15 channels but I found out that there were more out there. So I bought the booster and went to work to find the right spot.
It did take some time to tweak it and get the antenna in exactly the right spot (due to my location at the base of a hill) but I ended up getting 21 channels! So now for a minimal price I get ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS and several other local channels.
Picture is as good as your TV so I do know why that matters. Easy to install you plug it in the wall then to the TV or the other way around it does matter at all. I stuck mine to the window behind my TV and it sticks well, so keep that in mind if you like changing rooms around on a regular basis.
If you do, then you might want to invest in some “goo gone” because I broke my first antenna trying to pull it off the window. It was a great buy for me. I live out by the lake and ca get good internet let alone cable and plus I do really want aher bill to have to pay.
So I got this and I have 16 channels that consists of some christian channels (witch sold me), all the super liberal OETA channels but they have a cooking show channel, DIY channel, and documentary channel, and pbs, and pbs kids, ion channel is a crime tv show channel, fox, NBC, cbs, my TV, fx, and others.
Basically it’s a pretty good deal if you like just a little bit of tv and do need 1,000 channels to choose from.
Not worthy unless placed outside. Problem. it’s an indoor antenna. Bought 2, returned one. It wouldn’t work with Roku Premiere and the reception from the roof didn’t suffice. I’m thinking it’s the age of the TV, but then again.
it’s only an antenna!? I believe they measured distance based on 150 miles of flat land with no buildings. a desert. I barely got reception from a 25 mile antenna. You need the 16. 5ft of cable to get the darn thing outside.
And I’m very concerned the elements will ruin the device before I’ve had an opportunity to really use it. Kept the one because though only 25% of the available channels were obtained, and only one is a major network, it’s better than nothing.

I have been disabled for many years and spend 95% of my time at home. My old friends from the movie industries help me surpass the pain I deal with. Spectrum Cable bought out Brighthouse cable, raising the monthly price for same service by nearly $70.
00 with the promise of an extra increase of 15% this year. Tying ourselves to an antenna to get the free local OTA broadcast has been fraught with much deception. At first I bought 2 “FLAT” antennas that promised ( without geographic difficulties ), to get most all the stations in our metro-Orlando area.
Placing at highest point in cathedral ceiling house, I was able to receive 7 stations. Only 3 were capable of viewing and 1 was a sports channel, 1 other was a shopping channel and the 3rd was a Spanish language channel.
1 of these was not 1080HD. I tried another, larger “FLAT” antenna and came back with same results. Although limited in our cash flow, I decided that a larger investment may be needed to service our TV with the HD we have become used to on a permanent basis compared to the cable charges per month.
This is when I came upon the “Marathon” antenna. Although disabled with limited agility, I placed this unit atop a wall divider, 7 feet short of my ceiling height. In the scan it turned in over 100 channels with 60 HD visible.
Was I pleasantly surprised. In a few months, stretching our funds only so much a month, I plan on securing the “Marathon” antenna in our attic, using the cable that we have paid for these many years.
This antenna makes it possible to connect 4 TV’s to it at the same time. Thus, we are finally fixed to make our next move to find a DVR that records OTA as well as STREAMING Channels from both Amazons FireStick as well as from our ROKU units.
PLEASE. If anyone has info on a DVR that not only records these both, as well as being so simplified as to have the capability of connecting external Hard Drives to it for storage and access ( Stan Alone units ), please reply.
For those of you who are considering “CUTTING THE CABLE”, there are a good number of Streaming Channels that YOU MAY NOT RECEIVE unless you are connected to a verifiable cable company. This unfortunate present circumstance prohibits one from viewing your favorite cable programs within your home WITHOUT CABLE!!! I have had an occasion to see what’s coming down the line as this growing pilgrimage away from expensive cable fees is building an independent market outside of the cable empires.
Being new to this wonderful movement, I know I have much more to learn. It is rumored that T-Mobile is still working beyond their scheduled release date, an over their network independent “non-cabled” connection that will be verifiable as cable companies are considered now.
This may well be the first step in our best interest, as almost everyone today has cell phone usage. Spectrum cable has just done the “Cell Phone” package to compliment their cable franchise. It would begin to do us well if our present cell phone companies make this first move.
I’m convinced that we are at the very start of home entertainment being made available to the masses, not being strung out on cable. Their is one company that has under development a satellite reception device that would mean that our neighbors, far out in the country, will be able to have the transmissions of the streaming industry we in town cable subscribers have enjoyed.
To those out there who are disabled, sickly or older than we feel, the companionship that TV fills us with will be populated to the demise of monopolizing cable companies. Personally, I have also found the escape that TV allows us, should not replace the knowledge of “The True Way” back to our Beloved Creator.
G-d Created this earth. Out of His Love for our pleasure, He gave us the world. We lived in His Righteous Presence, communing with Adam each day within the Garden. As True Love cannot be forced on anyone, He gave Adam and his girl Eve, just one condition to prove their love for Him.
This they defied and G-d Being Holy and Righteous, would not commune with the unrighteousness freely chosen by our first human beings. Because of that one choice against all that G-d had given them, we live in a “fallen” world, given over to that anti-G-d beastly angel satanism.
Throughout millennia, The Almighty has tried to win us back into fellowship with Him again. Finally He Made the only Provision He could make for us to escape the evilness of this humanistic world system.
As lambs and other animals were sacrificed to negate our now sin filled nature, our Father G-d sent His only Son as the living Lamb of G-d as the bearer of our sins that block us from having communion with Him.
As the second Adam, He took away the power of sin that separates us from G-d’s Presence and reunites us with Him as He Wanted in the first place. Understand that the evil in this world came not from G-d, but was the free will choice of Adam.
The marathon antenna appears to be the best antenna. When I lived in a rural area,, I was able to pick up stations that had transmitters 80 miles away. I had the antenna on a 45 foot pole. When I moved to the city, it also worked great.
I did not need an antenna pole in the city. It is directional, so you may have to adjust position based on the transmitter’s location. No other antenna worked as well for me in the rural area.
I bought this assuming it would hold up better in the wind, with the intentions of mounting it 20′ in the air outdoors. I took a chance and put it in the attic. I have 30′-40′ high trees in the path of the antenna signal facing TAMPA BAY.
I am able to pull in 30 to 50 channels depending on the brand of tv. It has been extremely windy lately and this antenna gives crisp signal. My spectrum app has crappier signal than my marathon antenna mounted in the attic.
Dont forget you will have to re scan your digital channels frequently. And keep your expectations of antenna tv realistic, its never perfect. either is spectrum! This antenna was installed in the attic,on the west coast of Florida(34667).

A few years ago I “cut the cord” getting rid of my cable tv bill and switching exclusively to streaming services. While it reduced my monthly bill significantly, it did leave me with one small void in my viewing options, local news.
Using an external digital tv antenna is the solution. The GE UltraPro Edge HD Amplified TV antenna had clear instructions and even a QR code you can scan to watch an installation video. It was very easy to set up.
The longest part of the process was me trying to find the right menu on my tv to run the channel scan. This is the most important part as this is the way the antenna finds the available channels that you can watch for free.
This includes your local new channels like ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and FOX. You are also likely to find other less popular channels like home shopping, court tv, etc… Having access to local channels is super helpful when you need to check local weather alerts and your antenna will work even if your internet is down.
The GE UltraPro Edge HD Amplified TV antenna has a long cord, allowing you the ability to easily place it in a window. I didn’t really like the way it looked with a long black cord draped around the room to the window, so I placed it on my table under my TV and I was pleasantly surprised that I still got all the channels, and since the antenna is flat and can be flipped to black or white, it blends in and you can’t even tell it’s there.
I live in a suburban area and all the channels came in crisp and clear. It’s nice to have an antenna for those occasional times I need it and the fact that it blends seamlessly with my décor makes it even better.
Full disclosure. When I opened the package and took out the contents, I had very little confidence that this antenna would work. The antenna didn’t seem well made and it seemed flimsy. I connected the antenna to my older tv, which was easy to install and scanned for channels to test my theory.
To my surprise, I was able to get a lot of channels. As I am navigating through the many and various channels, I just couldn’t believe how clear the channels were. I didn’t find any channels that had digital interference.
None. I am sold on this antenna and I didn’t expect to be. I seriously thought negatively about this device before trying it out. Don’t be like me. Just wow!.
I decided to stop paying for cable a while ago. The prices are pretty high in my opinion. There are many options now to stream movies and tv shows and I use those. However there are a few channels I do want for news.
So an antenna is used in my home. I am very satisfied with my new UltraPro Edge HD Amplified TV Antenna. I live in the city so I am getting crystal clear network tv and hd channels as well. The antenna is also really easy to install and can be installed in any room without looking like an antenna.
It can even be painted and hidden on the wall. Overall I am satisfied and would highly recommend this antenna.

Just needed a small antenna to get me by while in temp housing while relocating. Near city center, near a freeway and after some experimenting got this antenna to work fairly well. Trick was to not use the amplifier, (nor the plug in amp I had from previous home antenna.
) I read that a downside to an amp is that it can amplify noise too. I think I was getting a lot of that from the freeway next to me. Just plugged antenna lead into 75 ohm connection on TV and things got much better.
Rescanned and even got more channels. So keep this in mind, an amp might do more harm than good in an urban area with a lot of traffic.
Five stars since this antenna exceeded my expectations. (Also, the price was right). I’m at 28 miles in the same approximate direction from ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox station broadcast towers. I do have nearby hills and large trees.
The antenna is on a TV in a second floor bedroom. It faces two interior walls and one exterior wall to the outside. Pointing the antenna in the correct direction, the TV scan produced what appears to be great reception of the major network stations, plus a CW station.
The other stations received are okay, but not likely to be watched (especially the 480i resolution ones). As a negative comment, the flat (antenna) part should have had a little stand so it can be easily placed on the top of a piece of furniture and oriented directionally; there are two little tape pieces provided (for a wall attachment) but a wall is probably not going to get it in the right direction.
I purchased this digital antenna because my picture quality was not that great on my old antenna. This neat little antenna is very simple to setup and connect to your tv. My picture quality has improved and I no longer have loss of signal or the typical digital scrambled picture.
I also am able to get far channels than I was getting with my old antenna. This is a great alternative for people who have gotten rid of cable.

So. you’re wondering. Why is the ClearStream so much more expensive and is it worth it? I have a Mohu Leaf. My impression is that it has the same reception as the Leaf. Same channels, same signal strength.
The one difference, and it’s minor, is that the ClearStream has a “re-attachable” adhesive( warning it is super strong adhesive)- and that makes moving the antenna around until you find a good spot, a bit easier.
The Leaf uses two pins you nail into the wall. My signals are very weak, so I have to move the antenna around depending on what channels I’m watching. The adhesive makes it more convenient. Knowing what I know now- I would get a Leaf and buy some sort of removable adhesive and the result would be the same at a lower cost.
The glue they used on the CS is so tacky, it feels like the antenna will rip every time I try to reposition it.
When I bought this my 5 year-old antenna was pulling only 5 channels. So, it’s a success that this product has restored a broad range of channels and I have the local CBS station, which has been ungettable for years.
However, my experience is that I spent twice as much as I needed to get here. First scan brought in 34 channels and I was thrilled. A day or so later moved the antenna rescanned and I had over 50 channels.
Then suddenly it stopped working at all — at one point I was getting no channels, then I was back to just five. In the end, I disconnected the amplifier and scanned for channels again and that’s where I am now.
Much better than where I started but the amplifier was what drew me to this item, and in the end the amplifier didn’t produce results.
I had no problem assembling the antenna or connecting it to the TV. The problem was that it did not work well as an indoor antenna. We live in a big city suburb and local TV stations are less than 15 miles away.
But it still gave spotty reception. I was pretty disappointed. Attaching it to the inside of the bedroom window glass improved the reception a bit, but was still not perfect. Then I attached it to the inside of the window screen and bingo! The reception became instantly clear.
The antenna and the metal mesh screen were a dynamite combination! I have no idea how the rain, snow and wind are going to affect the antenna, but it will stay there until I find a better antenna- probably the kind that is mounted on the roof.
For now it does a good job.

Reviews From Real Customers
The RCA Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna is simple in design, but delivers on its’ promise to give you many more local high definition television station programming for free. I’ve been using the amplified antenna for the past few days now and was even able to watch Super Bowl 50 this past Sunday without any issues.
The RCA Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna arrived to my home in a small well packaged box that was filled with enough packaging material that ensured nothing inside was damaged during shipping. I was able to find everything I needed as soon as I opened the box, including a start-up guide.
The main unit is thin, lite in weight and has a nice black matte color finish. It is a sleek design that should fit in well with other items in your house regardless the room it’s placed in. The set up was fairly easy as I simply attached the cable to the back of my television and then to the back of the RCA antenna base.
Next I plugged in the base and connected it to a power source. I later downloaded the signal finder app. , entered my home address, chose the TV stations I wanted and attempted to aim the antenna poles in the direction recommended by the illustration on my phone.
According to RCA, the amplified indoor HDTV antenna has a range of 45 miles. I was able to see that there were towers about 30 miles away from my home and pointed the antenna poles in that direction.
I began the search method on my TV and watched the number of digital channels it found. I was able to find 128 channels the first search. I did another search and was only able to find 109 channels. Nevertheless, in each search, the number of television stations I found was double what I was able to find utilizing my traditional standard antenna.
A lot of the channels I was able to get appeared in 1080 and some had dolby audio or stereo. However, everything wasn’t perfect with this set up the first go around. The app isn’t really user friendly.
It’s not layout well and a bit confusing. You never really understand if you have the best signal and there’s no way to ensure you have the best signal for your desired TV stations since you don’t move the antennas around during the searching process.
It would be nice if you were able to select the channels you preferred and then began the scan to locate the best location for the base and the direction you should aim the antenna “ears”. Also, I wish I didn’t have to plug in yet another device to watch television.
I am not certain if the plugged in base helps more. I was able to still watch free TV without the unit being plugged in. Additionally, the cord is only six feet long while a lot of people have their televisions mounted on the wall and six feet just isn’t enough.
I had to leave the base hanging on the edge of the couch near the TV. In closing, the RCA Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna is a good item to own even if you have a cable package or utilize other streaming services.
Some cable companies charge extra to get local channels, this would help you avoid paying that monthly premium. There are times when the internet goes out or there are problems with your cable provider.
If and when that occurs, this antenna will be extremely helpful to keep you connected and aware of what’s going on while your streaming services are not working. The price point is so low that within a couple months it will pay for itself.
The RCA Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna is a perfectly fine indoor antenna. It features two adjustable dipoles, Smart Boost amplification and a sculptural design. Also offered with the antenna is RCA’s free Signal Finder smartphone app.
I find the sculptural design to be the best feature of this antenna. To get a good signal with your antenna it needs to be out in the open. Hiding it behind the tv or decor greatly reduces its ability to receive a clear signal.
This particular antenna has a sleek design that won’t look too out of place on a bookshelf or side table, so long as you don’t have to extend the dipoles. Aside from its design, this antenna seems to be like any other indoor antenna.
Turning on the Smart Boost amplifier made no difference in signal strength for me. I got just as many channels with the feature turned off as I did with it on. Turning this feature on also lights up a very bright blue light that I find distracting.
Unfortunately, I actually got fewer channels with this antenna than the leaf style one I wanted to replace. Fidgeting with the dipoles didn’t offer much more help for me than Smart Boost did. Extending them also defeats the purpose of the sculptural design if you’d rather your antenna not be seen.
The Signal Finder smartphone app is a nice feature. It is available for free, whether you purchased this product or not. It’s a very bare bones app that shows you where your region’s broadcast signals are coming from.
This way you can point your antenna directly at those towers for the most direct signal. I’ve found that indoor antennas are hit or miss. No matter what proprietary terms a brand uses to describe their product, they’re all pretty much the same.
It really all depends on how far you are from broadcast towers and how obstructed the signals are between those towers and your tv. If you’re just a few miles from the towers and there are no trees around, you’ll get a nice strong signal.
If you’re 50 miles from the towers and you’re surrounded by trees, you’ll be lucky to get any channels at all. Unfortunately, that is just the nature of radio waves. The further you are from the towers, the more interference you’ll have, no matter which brand of indoor antenna you buy.
So, I would say that this particular antenna is for the person that has trouble getting reception when trying to hide their antenna. I’ve always tried to hide mine behind the tv, but that can not only block signals but also cause electronic interference.
Because this particular model has a more sculptural design, I believe it would not look out of place out in the open. Just beware that you may need to extend the poles for better reception, which negates the aesthetic design.
Also, if you use the amplification then it will constantly emit a bright blue light.

We have decided to get rid of Comcast and mainly use stream services, so need an antenna for OTA channels. The product arrived very fast after the order was placed. The installation was very easy – there are pictures on the box so there’s no need for instructions.
We actually received more channels than expected, and the pictures were very clear. This antenna is flat and we put it on the wall behind the TV, so it saves a lot of space than a regular antenna. So far no complaints.
Given the price point, I’d say this is a good buy and I recommend it to anyone who needs OTA signals.
This antenna is great. As soon as you hook everything up, boom you got HD on every channel. I live in area where I really can’t get too many channels. I get about 8-19 channels, all depends on where I put this antenna at on the wall.
This product is like what the company says. Get HD pictures and easy to hook up.
Not too shabby of a product for the price. It was a little difficult to get set-up but that was more my TV than anything. I enjoy having the local channels w/ good quality for free. It’s also worth noting that the antenna is sitting right behind my TV so there is no need to to hang it anywhere.
The channels come in clear, the only issue I had was it started thunder storming and the signal kept coming in and out, but I guess that’s to be expected. I’d recommend this product to anybody else.

Reviews From Real Customers
We live in panama city, fl and just went thru hurricane Michael and were and still are without cable and internet service. I had always heard of these antennas and was a little leary about what the picture would look like.
I had considered them because the cost of cable is astronomical. but couldnt convince anyone in the house to try because of the reason I just mentioned. And along come a Cat 5, I dont care what they say.
it was a 5. It has been nearly impossible to find out any info we figured out how to turn on a hotspot on phone but that is intermittent. We did manageto get online and my mom ordered 2 and it was amazing.
Thats literall! Being able to listen to the news and find out info on the schools opening back up and what was needed and the different locations and times just for that saved us so much frustration.
We were with out for 26 days and just having the news is a life saver! Add the fact the kiddo can watch CW, well bonus!! So glad we have them, would love to figure out how to drop cable and just run this and the internet when everything is functioning again.
At the very least and I hope it doesnt ever. ever happen again but in an emergency we now at least have the option of hooking up our antenna to find out whats happening in the world! Thank you, seriously!!.
My boyfriend and I left our comfortable lifestyle our home in a city to travel the country in a travel trailer recently. One of the things I missed the most was live TV. My boyfriend works outdoors all day, while I am trapped in my trailer, working remotely.
I am pretty sure I have watched everything on Netflix. I wanted live TV. The news, Price is Right, Judge Judy…just normalcy. I’ve tried a few antennas and have gotten legit crap. One of the antennas gave me two channels.
Two. Channels. The other ones just never could get decent reception, no matter where we placed the device. We received this bad boy yesterday and I am one happy girl! I have ALL of the local network channels and a ton more! I have music channels, movie channels not premium, of course and just so many cool random channels I didn’t even know existed.
It’s nice to be able to channel surf again!.
I ordered my first HDTV Antenna and was so pleased with it. So, I ordered another for another TV in our home. I have both HDTV Antenna’s in the same window. I placed one high and one low so there was no interference.
My OLD antenna was getting only 20 channels and they were not good. But, With the NEW HDTV ANTENNAS, I am now getting 40 channels and the pictures are very clear and not going in and out. I plan to order another one for our RV, as the rooftop antenna has poor quality channels.
The new HDTV antenna is very easy to install and connect to your TV. It only takes a few minutes. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone that is looking for their local programming and local news channels.
And lots of free TV.

I purchased this antenna today 4/24/2022 and it was easy to connect. I only got a few channels but those are very clear. I am happy that I am able to get my local news station which was one of my biggest concerns.
Overall, I am pleased with my purchase this far because my cable bill was ridiculously expensive and I am on a fixed income so this helps me save money in this high economy. I especially like the substantial fit of the antenna to my tv and not that flimsy tape that is stuck to the wall or window.
I live in the country and I’m about 20 to 30 minutes away from a major city. Normally I only get 1 station on my tv, but with this I have over 40 channels! I love how many channels I get now because I don’t need to buy online cable anymore when I have so many options of channels.
I am very impressed and I have convinced friends to buy the same model as they live in the country too and were looking for options. I am impressed with it’s size and range!!.
Overall works very well. I had to move it to different locations several times and rescan. I found it best to place it close to a window and move the rabbit ears in the opposite direction (towards to center of the room).
I rescanned it again after an hour (in same location) and did manage to receive additional stations. Worth the money. Inexpensive way to get local stations.

With simple controls and a sleek design, the AT-800SBS is an HDTV and FM antenna for the modern home. Not only does it just work, but it also works well, plus it’s 4K ready!.

Moved to an HOA community and didn’t want to hang my old Winegard 6′ Yagi in their faces. This low key appearing antenna more than met my technical needs, so I sprang for it, tho it cost almost twice as much as my old metal rig.
Very happy to have it perfoming great with medium to medium weak 1 edge signals per TV Fool. With it only 3′ high, I recieve HVHF and UHF signals separated by 35 degrees, with Tablo box scanning a ‘good’ strength using only the supplied gear.
Amplifier is a must for my location. Impressed the two dipoles is all it needs. Seems well made. Customer service rep was great, too.
My home is in an area of Florida with a lot of woods and interference from nearby airports, and I have tried other brands of antennas before with little success. My friend recommended the AT-800SBS to me, and we placed it in an area that is almost but not quite free of trees.
The top of the antenna was about 13 feet above the ground and to my surprise the channel scan resulted in 98 channels being received without loss and many channels that had never been received before.
I’m jumping up and down with excitement, this directional antenna is perfect for me! Very impressive.
The AT-800SBS accomplished what I was hoping for. I was a little concerned at first when I just used the antenna indoors near the TV. I only received about 12 channels and was missing a couple of key networks.
I then tried the antenna facing out the window on our east side and got 30 channels with all the major networks (shown to be about 55 mi on the signal map). I ended up mounting the antenna inside the garage (near the ceiling) facing east and got the same 30 channel reception along with a great spot to run cable.
A couple key points. it really needs to face a direction consistent with the signal map of the channels you want most (the mult-directional reception capability has its limits) and use decent shielded cable.
Also – watch for sales. I noticed Home Depot had the unit on sale for ~129 about a week after I ordered directly from Antop.

With cable/satellite monthly fees skyrocketing, more and more people are ditching these companies in favor of the internet and all the free programming that offers! I have been doing this for quite some time, however,it is nice to be able to watch local news right out of the TV antenna once in a while, especially with late night shows.
The Curved Antop experience: ——————————————- I live about 15 miles west of midtown Manhattan in New York City, where most of the big networks are! Such as NBC,CBS,FOX and other major networks, and been watching those channels for some years now.
I used a cheaper antenna, that was decent in a way,yet my main concern was, that I was never able to get certain channels to work together without having to move the antenna around! Whereas with this one,I was able to get 53 crystal clear channels with 720-1080P without having to touch the antenna! I used to get about 18 channels in the past! Set is fairly easy,it is more like plug & play operation! With the remote of your TV,scan for antenna channels and you will be surprised at the outcome! The only thing that I noticed, scanning for channels was a bit slower than my other antenna, not sure why! However, giving the outcome of the search,I did not mind it a bit.
Final Thoughts: ——————— As you can see in my photos bellow, the antenna is not a tiny thing, and not huge (see iPhone size comparison picture)however,it will for sure blend in the background with your TV,and rather giving the TV area a nice accent.
After taking this antenna for a spin, and due to quality vs pricing,I do recommend it to others. As for durability and long lasting, only time and use can tell! sample for fair review.
I am very pleased with this antenna!! I live about 20 miles from a metropolitan area and was hoping to pick up just the 4 primary local channels. I was pleasantly surprised when the initial scan picked up 20 local channels!! 15 of those have excellent audio & video, the others are channels that I don’t normally watch anyway.
Reception remained good during a heavy rain/wind storm, it was not any more “choppy” than cable or satellite TV reception during similar weather events. Installation was fast & easy, it took longer to locate the ‘scan channel’ function on the TV than to connect the antenna.
Prior to connection, I had determined the direction of the broadcast towers, so the first location that I placed the antenna (with the rods extended) was the best. I tested it in a couple other locations, but decided that on top of the bookcase next to the TV received the best reception.
Reception was good on most of the channels with the Smart Pass Amplifier set at normal reception (yellow) when switched to stronger reception (green) all 15 channels had clear reception!! It didn’t require a lot of adjustment with either the curved panel or the rods to get the best picture.
This antenna is well worth the cost!! It will allow me to cancel service with my current provider as I watch local channels for news & weather and Amazon Prime Video or Netflix for movies, etc. I will definitely recommend this antenna to others who are contemplating “pulling the plug on cable”!! It worked so well on the TV in my bedroom that I bought another one for the TV in the Living Room.
– – ditching paid TV and going back to “old fashioned FREE TV”!!! :-).
It is a truly excellent antenna. It is receiving tv stations 60+ miles away wit zero pixilation. I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase. Antop checked my zipcode and the performance might have been less than optimal.
Albany and Schenectady are 75+miles away. Both show very strong dignals through the amplified antenna. I highly recommend the AT-211B amplified antenna for great reception within 60 miles.

Reviews From Real Customers
It works great. I live almost 50 miles north of Dallas (where the transmission towers are) and I put this antena on a window. I get a lot of channels in HD, particularly the three Spanish channels my mother wanted to watch but there are many more.
I didn’t use the smaller antena of 25 miles range but I’m pretty sure it also works great since it’s the same as the other one, just smaller. Another cool thing is that the antennas are white on one side and black on the other so you can choose the side you want see or the want that looks better with your wall/window.
It requires a connection to a USB port for electricity for the amplifier but it includes an AC adapter for the USB cable or you can also connect it to a USB port in your TV if it has one. The amplifier works great and it really improves the reception.
Totally recommended.
I got tired of YouTube. tv raising thier prices like cable, so I decided to try airial again. For some reason I have trouble finding an antenna that works despite being relatively close to a lot of stations.
I got the leaf because all the reviews rave about it, but I pulled in 1 channel. Fortunately I bought a Mohu blade to use on another tv and it works amazing. I got all of the channels I expected. Not sure what to do with this leaf now.
It may go back on ebay since I am ordering another blade.
I’ve tried a variety of different brands of indoor antennas, both amplified and not, and this one is the only one that will pull in all the stations in my area on the main floor of my house. Also, the little non-amplified version works well attached to my upstairs TV.
This is a superior product and I highly recommend it to anyone.

First off the device on his own is super easy to set up and the stand is a great addition. It doesn’t take up much room but I use mine in a window with double-sided tape or Velcro. It’s not the most attractive thing but there again anytime you’ve got a piece of square plastic sitting anywhere vertically it’s kind of an eyesore.
Putting it behind the TV of course limits reception. It’s hidden but it doesn’t work as well. Putting it in the window works better but it’s a little bit more tacky looking. However with all of these plastic antennas you do you need some sort of amplification.
Nonetheless just like every other antenna, it’s not omnidirectional. It’s pretty simple to tell that it’s not because if you turn it you pick up more or less stations. anyhow depending on which window you put it in or which direction it’s facing and of course any to rain or walls other electronic interference trees weather solar flares etc.
you’re going to pick up more or less channels. My recommendation is to find the time of day and location for mounting that gets you the most channels and then as you go through them on a day-to-day basis go ahead and remove any channels that have super weak signal as you check each channel at different times of the day.
You’re never going to pick up those channels so get rid of them. But I’m able to pick up at least five channels very clearly with a few sporadic static he channels and it even registers a few channels that have absolutely no signal.
There’s really no substitute for a fully powered and amplified attic or roof aerial antenna on a motor. The only thing better would be actual cable that did not cause an arm and a leg.
Ok, so according to the pics and description, this is the exact same antenna as the Insignia one that is on clearance as of the date of this review, and was once twice the price of this one. Anywho, I’ve only had the antenna for a couple of days, but an antenna either works or it doesn’t, right? It’s not one of those items that needs months of usage before you can do a decent review.
So, it works for me. I’m about 30-35 miles from Detroit and I was having a hard time picking up Fox 2 and some of the PBS stations. I hooked this up and now I have Fox 2 and solid signals on the PBS channels, as well as all of the other channels it picks up.
That’s all I can ask for out of an antenna. Plus you can either use the white side or the black side to match your décor. It’s a fine, inexpensive, amplified antenna. Listen, if you live in the sticks and are more then 50 miles from your tv towers, you better buy a giant NASA sized satellite dish, because none of the indoor antenna’s will work good.
This antenna when it was under the Insignia name got just as good, if not better, reviews as the more expensive antenna’s that were more then 4 times the price. Why pay all that money when this one works great.
This Antenna works far better than I expected. I assumed I would get a handful of Local Channels but in fact when pointed in the best direction I can view almost 30. The channels are all clear but vary in their resolution, from 1080i for the Local Channels, 720p for some of the Classic Channels down to 480p with the old gameshow network.
The provided cable is long enough to reach most locations and the weighted base is easy to attach while keeping the Antenna pointed in the proper direction. I have yet to have any disruptions due to weather or obstructions.
I would recommend this Antenna for anyone seeking basic Television viewing at a low price.
Conclusion
There are a few things to consider when choosing an indoor TV antenna. The most important factor is the range of the antenna. An antenna with a range of 100 miles will be able to pick up most TV signals.
Another factor to consider is the size of the antenna. A smaller antenna will be easier to install and will take up less space.
