20 Best Impact Wrench For Changing Tires (2022 Updated)

This is an ok light weight impact wrench. It is not even close to the heavier impact wrench that other brands offer. I only purchased it because all my other tools are Porter Cable. Every other PC tool I own are amazing however this one fell a little flat.

I wish they offered a more powerful choice for real but busting strength.

I have a full line of Porter Cable 20v tools and I very satisfied with their performance for the type of work and projects I do. So far I’ve used tbhs impact wrench on lug nuts and other bolt/nut combinations and it has not let me down! Veryhappy thatit also came with the bigger 4ah battery & charger.

Again, Very zatisfied.

Very nice addition to my Porter-cable collection of tools. Very grateful Tractor supply has Porter Cable at a great deal! When I bought this item it came will large battery, charger and free choice of another porter cable product.

I don’t know what everyone else on here with their one star reviews are talking about. This thing is a beast. I have had mine for about 3 years now and I will say it’s far from weak especially when it comes to lug nuts 110ft lbs and they come of off with ease.

I will say though when it comes to the quality of sockets you use will determine the amount of time it takes to break a nut or bolt free. I’ve beat this thing up more than any tool I’ve ever owned and it’s still going strong.

The batteries you use will also determine the power behind this impact. If you use anything less than the 5mah batteries you’ll see reduced power once you go down a battery level but not by much. I do recommend investing in the flex volt batteries if you use it constantly, yeah they are a little on the heavy side (and the price is a bit steep) but well worth it if you use any dewalt tool in the long run.

This thing has survived my torture test so those of you who aren’t able to get a lug nut to break loose I’d look into better battery to go with the tool then next would be a better socket suitable for the task at hand.

I bought this 1/2-in drive impact wrench because I had used it numerous times at my buddies shop and love it. I use it mostly to work on my cars and has really saved my back, versus using hand tools only.

The specs on this mid-range impact wrench (20-Volt Max XR) is what I really like about it. DO NOT expect this mid-range tool to do a job that’s meant for the bigger brother DCF889B. Also do understand that it makes a world difference when using the right batteries – I will not recommend anything less than using a 20-Volt MAX XR 5.

0Ah battery pack (DCB205) for increased efficiency and runtime (at full charge). I have noticed a drop 70% of power efficiency from advertised when batteries are running mid – low charge. Be mindful when working on projects this should NOT be your ONLY TOOL – I used it as literally my “BACK SAVER” when I have to loosen or tighten rusted or hard to remove bolts/lug nuts when working on car.

Just bought mine today for $199. 00 Home Depot. I was gonna go for the bigger brother DCF889B but decided to get this (DCF894B) little guy for everyday work on small cars and midsize truck tires. Haven’t use it yet so I can’t really tell how well it it will performed.

After reading some of these reviews from other people and seeing how they’re quite disappointing with this little guy. I don’t think some of you people even know what the heck you’re talking about. Seems like you all are expecting this little guy to do a job that’s meant for the bigger brother.

Do your homework before you buy things for a job that it was meant for and not what it wasn’t meant for. Doesn’t take a genius to figure that out if you just do your homework.

I changed out the front suspension, CV axles, bearings, and hubs on my Acura MDX. I needed to remove the 36mm axle nut to “start” the job. I bought the socket and tried my 1/2 in super off brand impact gun that I bought 10+ years ago for $5 and never really used.

My compressor is a 7 gallon Central Pneumatic, which works great for all my wood working and home renovation projects. I worked at a tire shop 15+ years ago so I am very familiar with this type of work, just hadn’t done it in a while.

Needless to say that didn’t work. I then borrowed my Dad’s Black and Decker 1/2 in corded electric impact gun, a lot better, but didn’t work. I then bought the Earthquake 1/2 inch pneumatic gun, same result.

Although this was probably an issue with my compressor being way undersized. I borrowed my Dad’s surplus 15 gallon Craftsman compressor, no help. Now I’m 4 hours into this job and haven’t gotten anywhere.

Day two, back to Harbor Freight to return the Earthquake and pick up this beauty of a gun. I got it home and within 3 minutes both axle nuts were off and I was on my way. This tool had no issues with the hub removal tool either to switch out the bearings, or the strut to knuckle bolts.

I also picked up a set of impact sockets that worked great. This tool is amazing, all the power you need and at a good price. The tool feels good too, heavy and ergonomic. I can’t recommend this enough.

I bought this wrench as a gift to myself for my birthday. I had been wanting to buy one for years, but thought that the air version would be what was best. I realized that an electric can and will have enough torque for my needs and it would be overall less expensive and more convenient.

So I took the plunge. The price was very good, but the store manager even gave me a discount (a sale on them had just ended but she wanted to show her appreciation for being a regular customer and as a birthday gift as well).

Removing wheel lugs happens in a matter of seconds. You could literally have all lugs off a standard 5-lug sedan in about 2 minutes flat. Putting them back on with this is (generally speaking) a no-no, except if you have a torque stick.

I eventually bought an 80 ft-lb torque stick and use it regularly with no problems. For those not in the know, a torque stick limits the torque of an impact wrench and makes using an impact wrench as a fastener possible.

They are sold in specific torque numbers (80 ft-lbs is good for most wheel lugs) but they can be had in higher and lower ratings. Be sure to check with the vehicle manuals for details on what the recommended torque for your wheels should be.

Thus far this has been a great purchase. It has been flawless. My only gripe is that occasionally, the rubber mask around the nose comes off every time I use it. Not a deal breaker, since I could just as easily do without it.

I’ve heard others complain that it is heavy. Perhaps, but it is not unexpected or uncomfortably so. The power cord is of good length and does not easily kink. The duel trigger (one of forward, one for reverse) is something that I’m not sure I particularly like.

I have to make an effort to remember which one is which, for fear of activating the wrong one. It is very easy to mistakenly engage forward instead of reverse and not realize it. Could I think of a better system? Not really.

This is not a deal breaker either, but this is a review so I’m speaking my mind openly. Which brings me to the noise levels. I don’t think any impact wrench will be quiet, so this is not an issue. But for those thinking that they can jump up at 6am on a Sunday and start working without the neighbours hearing you, think again.

This bad boy has got some vocal chords! I’ve heard some people mention that it smells as if something is burning when being used. There is an “electrical” smell that it has, but nothing that causes any concern.

Overall, I highly recommend this tool. Go get it!.

Like a lot of guys, I’ve gone through a few pneumatic air impact wrenches over the years. Bought the cheapie, then a better one when I needed more torque, then a better one when that one wore out. That one was still working fine, but I had to get a REALLY stuck axle nut off my BMW (rusted solid) and my air impact was just annoying the neighbors and not doing anything to move the nut.

I was about ready to go with another (bigger) air impact when I spotted this one. With my club membership, it was a whopping $69, and gives me the option of just using a power cord instead of firing up the compressor and uncoiling my air line.

I like the fact that the removal torque is over 1000 foot pounds (which took that rusty nut off like butter) but the fastening torque is “only” 300 (doubtful I’d need more for much, and “too much” is too much sometimes).

The thing is big enough that it’s not going to fit just anywhere (I had to use my air impact to remove the bolts on the back of the wheel bearing because there wasn’t room to wrangle this beast up between all the suspension components).

Just make sure and get a heavy duty extension cord to use with this tool, as the power will be reduced considerably if you just plug it into the long, skinny one you use for your weed whacker.

Just started collecting a good selection of the kobalt 24 volt tools. Just the odd power tools that are more convenient cord free. This one with a fully charged battery, has all the torque you need, in a light weight, durable frame.

Great tool at this price. Strong break away torque. Good battery life, light weight. Ive used it in tight places with extensions and its a time saver.

I’ve had this for a few months now and still look forward to using it. The modes are awesome for not over torquing lugs/bolts and reduce the chance of fasteners flying off and hitting something or someone.

You can start slow enough to not have to worry about cross threading a lug which is a nice time saver. Lighter than I thought, more power than I expected and its built with the quality you’d expect from modern Makita tools.

You’ll be glad you bought it, especially if you’re coming from a air powered tool.

I have owned this impact wrench for about 2 years now. There is no fastener that this wrench has not been able to remove. I’ve used this wrench with a 6. 0ah and 5. 0ah battery and have not noticed any difference in power.

I’ve used this to remove the most stubborn of Honda crank pulley bolts with ease. Another well built tool from Makita.

First project I used this on was a big dock rebuild. Dock had major damage and needed something capable of putting in large long self tapping lag bolts to hold thick metal brackets. Dock is close to 200 feet long so not a small project.

Putting in lots of lags was no problem at all and battery life was pretty good. Has plenty of power and I did not need to set to the strongest power position to get the job done. Note this is not a light weight unit like an impact driver.

I see many praising this tool as I once did. However, The durability and quality have severely changed over the past 2-3 years. This tool used in a manufacturing environment used to last 1-2 years. Current life is 6months.

The tool is used doing the same job for well over a decade. Now the anvil’s break repeatedly. We started buying replacement parts to repair these tools. This year we started having multiple impacts having bearing problems on top of the anvil problems.

They are out of service more than in service. The cost of purchasing new ones continues to soar as the quality gets worse and worse. The cost of repair is close to purchase price. Buy the warranty – your going to need it.

I used to use an air impact wrench to rotate the tires on my vehicles. It was always a hassle to drag everything out of my shed to reach the vehicles. Was going to have to carry my generator, air compressor and air impact wrench to an off-grid camper to remove tires that were about 20 years old before moving the camper to replace.

My brother told me about this DeWalt tool. I was skeptical a cordless tool could be as good as an air impact wrench but I researched and read reviews about this 20V impact wrench. I decided to go for it and purchased this tool in April 2017.

This has been the best cordless hand tool I’ve ever purchased. Worked well beyond my expectations. This 20V impact wrench takes lug nuts off like it’s nothing. I took this one tool and removed all 24 lug nuts from the camper tires with no problem.

Had tires replaced and put tires back on camper. Rotated tires on my truck and car. Still had 2 or 3 bars of battery power after removing/replacing 136 lug nuts! The battery last for an unbelievable time.

If you rotate your own tires on your vehicles, this is a must have tool. It has been worth every penny and I’d buy it all over again! Thanks DeWalt for such an awesome cordless tool. I have since converted over all my cordless hand tools (from another brand) to DeWalt due to purchasing this one tool.

If you’ve been on the fence about purchasing this tool, purchase it. You will not be disappointed.

The best of the bunch. Something needs mentioned here and is important if using this a lot. Maintenance. This is very easy to grease as the nose cone comes right off. 4 screws, done. The Milwaukee that people love is literally 20+ screws and the entire body needs broken apart to grease the anvil area.

The Milwaukee looks like a simple 4 screw nose cone but it is NOT. Power? The DCF899 has all the power you need. We use it commercially and it just keeps on keeping on. MOST IMPORTANTLY. It’s USA made!!! Not all DeWalt’s line is USA but at least they’re trying.

Milwaukee doesn’t make one electric tool in USA. Not one!! Think about that next time you are purchasing an electric tool from the big 3!!!.

Just what I needed. Paid less than locally. Medium impact but enough for the purpose. Lightweight and easy to use. Not good enough for axle nut.

I’ve been looking at this impact for a year or 2 now as I always wanted something a little more than a cheap air impact or the Bauer electric impact that I got before, but I couldn’t justify its price until a recent parking lot sale, and for under $200 it was cheaper than the Bauer with the separate package deal that I already got before, which is not anything even near comparable, and I went there to get it.

There was a minor hiccup with stock as they apparently accidently sold me the display model, which I found out when I got home and got a battery and charger, and no tool. What was kind of ironic is that when they tried selling me on the extended warranty, the salesman mentioned that it comes with the battery and charger for the price (I came there to buy it for that reason), but he never mentioned the tool.

I had to go back to the store, but luckily the people there realized the error and were cool about getting me a non-display model with the tool in it. I can’t say too much on longevity yet, but I heard these are pretty good tools by countless people, and I already can tell the power of it right out of the box, I removed old and installed fresh lug bolts on my car, and it wasn’t even trying at that point and I have to be careful as just 1 knock on that hammer put them likely over my goal torque setting of 100 lb ft.

This is obviously a superior tool to ones that I have had to use in the past, and I hope it keeps being that way, as it seems to about just over 3 weeks at this point, and this hopefully may be updated in the future.

I have never been a fan of the power vs. battery consumption of cordless tools. I found myself with a car half torn down and no room to move during a heavy rain season. There simply wasn’t room for my mobile compressor setup.

I decided to give the Earthquake XT 1/2″ impact a try, based on the recommendation of a hobbyist friend. I’ve wrenched in a few service shops over the years. One rarely (never) sees HF, Home Depot or Lowe’s tools.

The Caste System (right or wrong) tops with a Snap-On or Mac roller filled with Snap-On, SK, Mac, or OTC tools. Craftsman Pro is acceptable when you’re just starting out. I’ve borrowed Snap-On & Mac 3/8″ cordless impacts from friends and while decent it’s just too costly for my budget.

I was able to afford the Earthquake with a bigger drive & higher torque at a reasonable price, so I made sure I could return it if I found it subpar. I still have it 2 years later! I use it almost daily, still on my original battery.

My auto body & mechanic friends sing it’s praises after they give it a go. It’s quickly becoming everyone’s favorite “dirty little secret tool” hidden in the bottom bay of their flashy tool rollers. It will remove bolts, IN REVERSE, that would normally cause a shop generator to regenerate.

Forward, it has MEGA power and still provides battery life under constant use for hours. My only caveat is the lack of adjustable torque. But, at this price point I don’t mind using torque extensions as needed.

Is it heavy? Yes. But as far as being bulky it is still easier and requires less clearance than a hose, whip & swivel. All told, for less than $400 one can get this XT Impact, battery, quick charger, torque extensions & a decent set of metric & ASE impact sockets.

I recently started doing roadside assistance work. Initially I was going to just roll with a breaker bar for changing flats, but I quickly realized this would wear me down fairly rapidly. Harbor Freight has an impact wrench for the same price with about 3x the power (approx.

1200 ft. /lbs. torque), and I am sure it is a fine quality tool there, but I have always preferred DeWalt. Anyway, I was initially concerned that 400 ft. /lbs. would not be enough for certain stubborn lug nuts, but so far not even remotely an issue! It may also be a blessing in disguise having less torque, as this may prevent over-torquing of the nuts (I’m NOT a mechanic, so take this opinion accordingly lol).

Battery life has been simply amazing. I have yet to see loss of power, and I am going into my 3rd full week of use. This kit comes with an extra battery also, by the way. SUPER PLEASED with my new tool for making tire changing a BREEZE!!.

I might of had my hopes up a little high when I thought this impact would take lug nuts off of my truck. It would get one maybe two, but that was it. But besides that it has loosened everything else I have put it on.

I dropped my transmission the other day and it was nice not to have to rachet att those books out. And a few weeks earlier I was building a roof over a mobile home and drove 4 1/2″ long 3/8″ lag bolts through 2×6’s into 4×4’s with little effort.

I had about 32 of them to drive in and I had to be careful not to counter sink them because it was bending the washers. Its not a tool that I break out very often, but it is nice to have when I need it.

Battery snap is not robust on mine. Battery dropped out in use from vibration multiple times first use. Last time jammed battery on with even more force, about 30 pounds, adding creative verbal lashing.

That made it through a tire change. Duct tape is backup. Bag is fine. Came with a spare battery, always a good idea. Would prefer adjustable tightening torque for price. Seems solid and adequate so far with one truck wheel changed.

Not as tough to counter the torque with wrist as on pneumatic Earthquake impact driver that lasted 5 years with oiling. Portability without an air hose or cord is great! Hoping this DeWalt holds up for 12 years and more like my DeWalt drill/driver.

I love this impact. Hits hard and seems like it’s built to last. I broke it in by bringing it to the quick lane at the dealership I work and and 2 weeks in and everybody loves it. The best part about it is that it only costs a fraction of the Mac impact that I’d consider it’s closest competitor in terms of size.

I saw this on the Torque Test Channel ripping more expensive guns. This thing definitely hits , the composite body doesn’t feel as quality as I had hoped but overall I’m stoked. I was thinking about a mt2779 but I’m glad I got this instead.

I had been using a mt2769 that I really liked but just wasn’t blasting like I needed it to.

This air wrench is compact, rather light, comfortable, and powerful. I haven’t used it much yet, but my only wish (so far) is that the power delivery wasn’t so abrupt on reverse/disassembly. Maybe this is simply an indication of its power, and maybe it will change a little when it wears in! It does have slower optional speeds on forward/assembly.

I was seriously considering buying a 3/8″ drive battery powered impact wrench, but then you are locked in to the entire manufacturer’s product line because of the Expensive, universal battery packs. Since I have a compressor, sticking with air tools gives me more tool choices at far lower up front cost, at least for this one.

Short story: I’d buy it again.

Bought this gun over a year ago and it is still going strong. Mostly gets used for taking of semi tires, with lug nuts torqued to 500ft-lbs. I’ve been super pleased with the performance of the gun as well as the low price.

I wanted a 3/8″ pneumatic impact wrench for light duty uses; my 1/2″ wrenches are all fairly heavy (and aren’t small). This one is perfect for that purpose; it’s torquey enough for most run of the mill needs, it’s small enough to fit in tighter areas, and it’s not overly air-thirsty.

The only reason I gave 4 stars for durability is that I haven’t owned it for long.

Bought this to use for weekend automotive work and have been happy with it so far. Has removed and unstuck every bolt/nut I’ve used it on so far. Have an older truck with lots of rust and it blows right through small and large fasteners.

I wouldn’t recommend it for tightening much, good chance of over-torquing but I really got it to help get things apart anyway. Doesn’t seem to run through batteries too fast but I’m not using it all day long either.

Got this impact wrench because I was sick of the corded ones. My main use for this impact is taking several bolts over 1” off large industrial boilers and Attached components. Well after about a years use I’m extremely pleased! This heavily out powers the corded impact and makes my job 10x easier.

I have both the 5ah and 6ah flex volt batteries which keep the impact going for long periods of time with high torque, maxing this gun out applications. ‘Tis impact has taken a beating and a couple drops from over 6 feet and is still going strong.

Overall this is a tough set up and I’m very pleased I chose dewalt to get the job done.

Amazing imapct gun, I needed this gun to make some of my work Mobile without an airline and it does a really good job and to me it seems like a pretty reasonable price and the gun isn’t tooo heavy when using.

Amazing gun definetly recommend it to anyone for light use like taking a tire off, taking of outer tie rod bolts etc.

I’m a mechanic at an ATV dealership and have been using this gun almost daily for over a month and I absolutely love it. I was previously using a cheap $50 impact that was supplied to me when I started working there 8 years ago but it struggled even with over tightened lug nuts and would not budge other parts on the machines forcing me to constantly borrow the other guys tool truck impacts and it’s safe to say I’ve used just about every model and brand they produce.

Finally decided to upgrade and this gun easily hangs with all of them and is probably more powerful than most in it’s class. We don’t typically run into the huge bolts that someone like a diesle mechanic would but since these machines spend their lives in mud and water they tend to be extremely rusty but this gun doesn’t slow down.

it will remove them or break them. It laughs in the face of lug nuts, suspension bolts, clutches, and axle nuts. To remove a clutch on these machines requires removing the stock bolt and then inserting what’s essentially a long, threaded spike that you tighten until the clutch pops off of the shaft.

This is probably the toughest thing I encounter regularly and this gun breaks them loose with no effort, just a loud pop. A few days ago I was taking a clutch apart (already removed) and the castle nut that holds it together had been tightened by another mechanics tool truck gun the same day (the brand that starts with “S”).

I put this impact on it and sparks actually flew off of the nut when I pulled the trigger and it broke loose instantly. The settings on this gun are great and I’ve found that even lowest forward setting will get you right in the ballpark of torque specs for the largest lug nuts we deal with which are 3/4 inch without even hammering on them much.

What I really like about this gun is that I’m doing the same work as the other guys with zero effort and way less noise. It’s deceptively quiet and anyone who’s used to the tool truck stuff would probably think it has no power compared to theirs but it most certainly does.

I gave it 5 stars because at this point I have absolutely nothing to complain about, especially for the price. I will update if any major failure occurs in the near future and that is a promise so no news is good news.

I got this for rotating tires. It’ll get the lug nuts off quickly. For me, a bloke who does their own car maintenance, this is a high quality tool. As much as I use it, I expect I’ll go through air hoses faster than I will wear this tool out.

Fits nicely in the hand, trigger pulls easily, changing directions can be done while attached to air and it’s pretty quiet. I mean, it’s an air tool so it’s all relative. If you are out doing stuff on a saturday afternoon, no one will pay any attention.

But use it at 3 am and you’ll get the neighbors attention (go to bed Cracky!). Note: with the compressor at 90 psi, using the narrower air hose connection and the tool on the middle power selection and hitting the nut 3x’s after it’s tight, it will put the lug nuts on with about 84 ft lbs of.

torque? That’s the spec for my lug nuts and I tested it with a torque wrench and I’m happy with it.

I had a staked gm pinion nut that my other impact could not budge during my last attempt last year. My other impact would not budge the thing, breaker bar was also of no help. So i gave up on trying to change that pinion seal.

Now i have the car apart again for some more upgrades, the leak is getting worse, so it’s on my mind again. My other impact can do 350lbs, so i decide to try this impact before i break down and pull the rearend and pay someone to remove the nut.

It took me about 10min to get the impact setup, my old air compressor died recently, so i have a little harbor freight cheap 8 gallon compressor borrowed. This impact zipped that stubborn pinion nut off like it was nothing! This is now my favorite tool! — Editing as I have had more time to work with this tool and a new air system in my garage.

I now have a 60 gallon Quincy 2 stage compressor and an elaborate air system I set up for painting a car. I also have all of my lines upgraded and switched over to the “V” style high flow connectors on all of my tools and lines.

This thing continues to perform, I run my main lines at 160psi, and reregulate down to 110psi for the air tools. I find I need to use this tool sparingly, only really seeing use when I have a stuck bolt.

For wheel lugs on my cars its helpful if I have a stuck one, but for reinstalling it’s way too powerful even on the first setting. I ended up getting a second impact, a little 3/8in compact deal for general use.

I still strongly recommend this tool as it’s a huge asset and makes some of the harder jobs much easier and quicker, it pretty much replaced my big ol breaker bar.

This is a very powerful impact wrench and dewalt quality. I already had dewalt tools so made sense to buy this impact wrench. I brought it after using my neighbours. Mine is the newer model with indent ring.

It is on the heavy side but paired this with 2ah battery to minimise weight. I would have preferred the DCF894 which is lighter and more compact but was more expensive and less powerful. So it made sense I brought this as its cheaper and much more power.

Within it’s capacity range, it is a great tool! I bought it at first to change tires in the driveway and not have to drag 100 plus feet of air hose out each time and then put it away when one of my kids/friends got a flat tire, needed a tire rotation or to change out the Winter/Summer tires.

Saves the hour plus wait at the tire store too! I have found other uses besides lug nuts by just having it here, such as engine tear down, transmission tear down, Lawn mower repairs and installing machine and lag bolts for building projects(be careful on the smaller sizes).

It’s a great tool when you need something fast, portable and without cords or hoses. I have taken it to the salvage yard when they allow it and use it where I can to save some time removing needed treasures.

I do not like the rocker style trigger because in some situations it is too easy to reverse the desired direction of the tool. Overall I am very happy with the tool.

I’ve been with Milwaukee on there M18 platform for over 10 years now. Never had any tool completely fail. Only issues I’ve ever had, was on a 3/8 impact that I use to use day in & day out for about 10 yrs, that needed Brush cards a couple times and one ammerature, which are both wear items.

Now on all there fuel stuff, which is brushless, has gotten rid of those wear n tear issues for me. But my first 3/8 impact is still going strong, even have the original batteries from back then also, that still work.

Every mechanic needs the M18 compact gen3, mid-torque gen2 & the 1/2 high torque in there box(which I barley need to break out, cuz the mid-torqueis a monster and handles 90% of the fasteners on cars and trucks.

You can get all those for just the price of one mid-torque kit from snap-on. No brainer.

I purchased this tool specifically to remove a camshaft bolt that was refusing to come loose. Conventional breaker bars with extensions did not work. Our best Ingersol Rand impact wrench did not work.

This new impact wrench whipped the bolt right off. It looked too easy! I’m now using it for all impact wrench jobs on automobiles.

This tool was a real game changer. Its far more powerful than any of the other impacts in the garage I work at. The battery life is far better what I expected from it. At the end of a busy week I still have 3/4 of the battery charge remaining.

I usually put it on the charger at the end of the week, but as a test, Im on my second week without charging and havent hit 50% yet. Excellent build quality and the halo light is a very aesthetically pleasing touch.

A very large factor in choosing this over Milwaukee was for the halo light. A bit overkill in a good way.

Ok guys. This is the moment you all been waiting for. This heavy duty impact gun is a complete beast. The crankshaft pulley bolt broke my breaker bar extension after hours of techniques to break loose.

With the gun & lisle harmonic 19mm socket in less than 15seconds this was out & in hand as the pics showed. Super awesome tool. Thanks Ingersoll Rand for giving us great tools. This gun should be called The Hulk.

Well I been using this gun for about 2 weeks. From doing a brake job on a sterling street sweeper to swapping shocks on a yukon. This is a very versatile tool. It has enough torque to brake loose lug nuts on a big rig, yet the settings make it really easy to snug bolts or to torque them between 80-120 ft-lb.

battery life is really good, and the light really helps when Im doing jobs Under the car like removing flywheel. It is a heavy tool but I rather deal with the weight than to deal with a air hose.

Three power modes help a lot. Always use a torque wrench to achieve desired torque value. It hasn’t encountered a bolt it can’t remove. At least for my applications. If your working on rock crushing machines like changing the crushing teeth it wouldn’t be enough.

Same for bridge bolts. Luckily I don’t need it for those and it works great. The type 3 model is made in the USA and hasn’t made the ratcheting sound like the type 1/2 models.
