20 Best Hunting Arrows For Compound Bow (2023 Updated)

Been the best hunting arrows I have had through the years. Easy to transition and tune going from target tips to broadheads. Very tough and take the abuse of many shots. Very consistent and straight as advertised.

I shoot a Mathews Outback at 70 pounds. My old Carbon Express Maxima arrows were an inch shorter than the Maxima Red I received. I have shot hundreds of arrows using both old and new and do not notice any difference in my 35 yard range.

That holds true for broad heads and field points.

Bought these arrows because I needed a stiffer spine. The store unfortunately didn’t have a cheaper option but these arrows definitely seem to make a difference! I’m a big fan.

The arrows were packed loose the a box with no packing. I was lucky this time, but this is no way to ship arrows. This would have been 5 stars if not for the packing job. Don’t get me wrong, I like to shop at Academy even though I live in Wa.

Used to live in TX and shopped at Academy all the time. So this is really disappointing.

I always keep a couple of these with a judo tip when I’m out deer hunting in case a squirrel starts barking at me. It doesn’t take expensive arrows to handle that. These fit that bill. I got a dozen a year ago, still have all 12.

I got another dozen this year because why not.

Perfect low cost item. “Straight as an Arrow”!!! Like the female threads for versatility. Put on some safer tips when the kiddies are out with me, Actually helpful when feeding through a hole to locate a cable n the attic or basement!!! Super useful!!! Need to have a few of these low cost useful items around at all times.

Good quality arrows at a very good price, even with the recent price increase. I hunt with them with great success. The arrows are tough and spin test very well. They no longer come with Blazer vanes though which is a bit disappointing.

They are Victory brand vanes which are slightly different. Without Blazers, I may opt for the standard version next time I purchase. The description needs to be updated with the correct information. I use a heavier insert and not the 11 grain one they come with.

I purchased a 6 pack of each of the 20″ & 22″ x-bow arrows. I was happy with the overall visual inspection and happy with the little to no variance in weight of each arrow when I put them on the scale.

The 22″ arrows were at 325 grains with +/-. 02 grains individual weight. The 20″ arrows were at 329 grains with +/-. 03 grains individual weight. When hunting I am really happy with the performance of the Excaliber Boltcutter broadheads.

They are a fixed three blade 150 grain broadhead. I like my hunting x-bow arrows to be between 450-500gn’s total weight with the arrow, broadhead, and lighted nock. These arrows fit the bill meeting those requirements.

When shooting them out of three different x-bows at speeds from 212fps up to 350fps, all three bows shooting 3 shot groups put the arrows within the diameter of a quarter at 20 yards. Very Happy! Also, they were pretty easy to pull out of the foam target compared to some other arrows I have.

I’m going to pick up another 6 pack of each and hopefully get several years use out of them. Can’t wait for this year’s archery seasons to open up!.

Absolutely love this arrow matched up well with the bow iam shooting. I hope it does well on an animal this year. Both field tips and broad heads flew straight.

Well where do I start. Straight to the problem, the darn nocks don’t fit the arrows they just fall out, and the inserts aren’t streamline to the shaft. They are pretty though and seem to fly ok that’s y they got a two.

Odd to see 4″ to the right and 3″ high though. All other arrows seem to be within an inch or two of each other, did pay considerably more for them.

So far I have no complaint. The arrows fly well and hit hard. Made a 47yd shot on a deer, nailed him. Arrow made a complete pass through with a rage hypodermic and stuck about 4″ into the ground behind him.

Designed for impact and penetration and that is exactly what they deliver. Delivery was quick as well.

I am a “old” beginner. Just bought my 1st compound bow (Diamond Edge SB-1) on line and also this 6 Pack arrow as my start up package. After setup the bow myself with about 50 pound pull weight, I started to paper tuning and then tested 10-15 yard shoots inside my home.

The 1st 10-12 yard group are within 2 inches diameter area. In general, I think this is a very good arrow. The reason I rated it 4 start instead of 5 is because I found one arrow’s nock was broken after maybe 20 test shorts, which might be caused by my mistake.

Went from a 300 Precision Hunter to the 340’s and group tightened up considerably out to 60 yds with 410 grain arrow at 310fps shooting at 70lbs. Also fletched myself with 2″ Blazers and set them about 1/4″ further from nock than pre fletched arrows come and seems to make them a bit more accurate out of my setup.

Only reason I give them 4 stars is because the nocks fit so tight in the shaft I had to use pliers to pull them out. Not necessarily a bad thing but if you’re trimming both ends of the arrow, you don’t want to worry about damaging your nocks pulling them out (just put cloth on the pleirs).

Even with that said, I’ll buy more when the time comes. Great shooting arrow.

i have been shooting these arrows for years, shot rabbits, squrrils, many deer, foxes, etc. last a long time!!!!!! some arrows last me months, but shoot this item everyday. i have shot trees, boulders, and walls to test durbility and they passed without damage! i would recomend this product (coming from a expirenced hunter outdoorsmen).

These arrows are great for the price. I have spun tested them and weight checked them against my more expensive pro shop arrows and they are the exact same. These are a private relabled version of name brand arrow that I used to buy at a pro shop for $99 a dozen.

So if you get them at regular price they are a deal, and I found some on clearance which made it a fantastic deal. I get these for my wife, daughter and son, they shoot great and save me some cash for my much more expensive arrows!.

I’m new to archery so it’s hard to give an informative review but what I can say about these arrows is I bought three other brands that were much cheaper. With the other arrows one, when I miss my target and hit a solid barrier the carbon would mushroom and explode.

All six of those are now gone. The second least expensive arrows, I can’t seem to have them fly straight and I keep doing repairs on them. The third cheap arrows are gone from falling apart. Two of the three cheap sets are gone.

I shot a couple of hundred times for each set before they were completely gone. With these Beman, they’ve hit solid objects, and are still good. Not one repair on any of the arrows, and they shoot accurate, so no funky flight to my target.

I bought these arrows in a package with my Stinger X Stiletto. I shot competitive target for a year and am now buying my own equipment. These arrow were a great start. I can’t give a judgement on how accurate they are because I’m still playing around with my form.

However, none of my groups are larger than my palm (which is a very small palm), so they seem to be pretty decent. Durability – I shot one arrow into the cement floor of the range on accident – just not paying attention – and the only damage was to the field point.

It was a little dinged on the tip but still flies perfectly and enters and exits the targets with no problem. I changed the tips to the Allen Company fat belly points with O-rings because I got tired of having to tighten them after every few shots.

Other than the screw-in points coming loose on occasion, these arrows have given me absolutely no problems. I will say that I am having to buy more because the pack only comes with 4 and I need at least 5 arrows to shoot competitively.

Bought last week but just shot today, tight grouping at 20 yards shooting into my worn out black hole target. Reason for two stars is that like 2nd shot with one of the arrows it flew fine and hit my target right where I was aiming which was great but when I got to my target to retreive my arrows the arrow had basically exploded in the middle with splinters hanging off.

I’m pulling 60 lbs with a 28. 5 draw length which fits in the described range for arrow so not sure what happened. As previously mentioned I hit center of target which is pretty weakened after a year of crossbow and compound shooting so it’s not a hard impact at all for what these are made for.

I probably just got a bad arrow or something.

These are one of the best arrows on the market for the price. Just killed and elk with these. I shoot 400’s out of a 70lb bow tipped with a 100gr Viper trick by slick trick. Before you roll your eyes and say thats too light of an arrow for a 70lb bow I will tell you I have shot this combo for years, lighter broadhead and short draw length and this is the best shooting combo for my bow.

55yrd shot exited through off shoulder and no damage to arrow or broadhead.

Been using Gold Tip arrows for many years now. These are really good for the price, excellent for hunting. They’re durable, fly true, and all ready to go except for needing to be cut to length. They’re on the heavy side g.

The Gold Tip Hunter 500 carbon arrows are of excellent quality and price. I use them for my youth hunters setup. For lighter poundage, shorter draw length youth or women coupled with a 150 grain broadhead makes for a deadly hunting combination.

Lower poundage hunting setups require more momentum from your arrows to be effective on the game we pursue. Depper penetration and complete passthrus can easily be achieved with the right understanding of broadhead type, arrow momentum and the stiffness needed to accomplish the job.

Gold Tip Hunter 500 carbon arrows is at the heart of my youth hunting rigs ability to harvest big game out of relatively lower draw weights used. Great product, great company, reliable products and reliable end results.

These bolts fly true with 150 grain field points and 150 grain boltcutter broadheads. I got green fetching this time which is great. But you might get other colors not optimum for hunting. Would be great if you could choose colors.

These shafts work well when they are perfect, either with 150 gr boltcutters out to 30 yds or with 100 gr mechanical broadheads out to 50 yds. However, you should never twist or even slightly bend them when pulling them out of a target block, and if one shaft has touched another one, both need to be carefully checked for damage.

At any time, practice or hunting, flex them before and after use. If the tip strikes an animal or the ground, check the shaft. The carbon can splinter from the slightest indirect impact and can even leave really small slivers in the meat – cut around and discard.

The last box I received had a new warning about all the dangers. So I now use the carbon ones for fun in the back yard and for introducing newbies to the sport – once these are gone that’s it. I already had the xx75 2219 hunter shafts but those are really for close and big game.

The 2213 aluminum are 265 Gr and work well with 100 and 150 Gr tips, get those and you will not regret it – they even.

I orderednrhese crossbow bolts thinking they would come with everything. They didn’t. They did not come with tips or nocks, but they did come with the inserts for the tips and nocks in them already. You just have to order the tips and nocks seperately.

Also, the Alpha Nocks will not fit into these.

Received the arrows and was bit disappointed that they were “Made in Mexico”, I thought all GTs were made in the USA. I ran the spin test and was amazed how straight they were. Once a cut them to 29 inches (1.

5 inches on each end), they were even more amazing, better than my previous Hunters XT’s batch. Once I completed the arrows the maximum spread in weight was a mere. 6 grains in 12 arrows. Then I ran a accuracy test, shot a 1 7/8 (center to center) inch group at 50 yards.

This is a pretty heavy arrow (10. 9 GPI) and may not work for you if you a have a “slow” bow with drop compensating pins sight like the TR React 5 or React 1 where certain velocity is required. Other than that, a hard hitting arrow and as strong as they can be made with C6! Recommended!.

I have shot GoldTip for many years as well as other brands. GoldTip hunter is a great arrow, flies true, stands up well on the 3D range and in the field. One of the more rugged arrows I’ve owned and shot.

Taken lots of game mainly deer & turkey, with the same arrow(s) time after time.

to get the best performance with these use the steel inserts expensive arrows but the performance is incredible. the first time I shot these arrows a the archery store my arrow went completely through the target that had been stopping arrows from 70lb compounds.

I only draw 53 lbs. You are paying for small diameter arrows that are accurate as you can buy. they drift less in wind, penetrate notably better, and you can get a high weight forward of center. with the steel inserts and a 100 grain broadhead my arrows are 435 grains and have an 18 percent weight forward of center.

one time I missed my target and the arrow hit a cinderblock wall at 265 fps. it didn’t break. just stuck in the wall and still spun true after I unscrewed it. completely sold on these.

Built right these arrows will deliver what is advertised. I have shot these out to 70yds with expectable results. I only have one complaint and it comes in the building process. If using a squaring tool place a paper towel between the arrow and the tool.

this will prevent scuffing the ICE coating. Accuracy is there speed and kinetic energy are there. Build them right shoot them to your ability they will perform better in wind and penetrate deeper than standard diameter arrows.

If your a field archer or a hunter looking for an arrow to balance speed accuracy and penetration, Give these a look. the only sacrifice I have found so far is my X count indoors. With my focus on hunting and field archery this arrow fills that need.

The correct penetrator is included and add a little length to the finished arrow. I recommend checking the overall length by dry fitting the penetrator fitted with your Brodhead of choice. this will help you visualize the finished length before you glue everything together.

I am a loyal Victory Archery guy, I use their hunting arrows and love their products. I am giving these arrows a four star only because the inserts and nocks seemed a bit off some fit tight and others didn’t fit as they should have.

I wound up ordering Firenock inserts and nocks to replace the included components. The arrows were straight and I have had zero issues with the shafts themselves.

always been an active archer, but age and elbow problems pushed me to crossbow. Bought a Gamecrusher and these bolts for deer hunting and target with these for past three years. still had my original dozen despite the amount of usage.

accuracy is always there. My wife (not a sports enthusiast) can drill bullseyes easily. Its now time to buy another dozen! a lot more affordable than some other expensive brands. only complaint is it is hard to find them in local stores or major retailer.

I don’t know what the 1 * is talking about. The can pattern these just fine (2inch circle) at 60 yards. If you can’t do it at 20 it seems more user error than anything else. I’ve been using these with my Barnett Ghost 360 since 2015 and have had zero complaints.

They’ve felled deer, stayed in one piece after going through shoulders, and stayed flying straight after extensive use with some pretty crappy targets.

The bolts are good, but. the company selling them needs to get their act together. The picture shows florescent green and orange fletchings. The bolts I received had red and white fletchings. they’re fine for practice but I will never take them into the woods.

Horrible colors to carry around and miserable to recover. Especially if you’re color blind.

So let’s start with the bad and end with the good. Upon initially seeing my new Gold Tip Traditional Carbon arrows I was quite excited to get them out and see how they performed. I ordered 6- fletched, cut to length arrows with inserts included.

Normally I would not have anyone else fletch my arrows but considering I was paying $81. 50 and being from 3 Rivers I was expecting quality. When I went through my first shot with each six I began noticing the flaws.

For instance, 1 arrow was nocked incorrectly with the coch feather backward. Not a huge deal but when shooting over and over, it becomes irritating to always have to keep an eye out for the one with a white coch feather and backward nock.

As I shot each arrow for the third time I watched as one of my fletchings fluttered down in front of my face, half being torn off and have remained on the shaft. I inspected my arrows and noticed that multiple fletchings were only partially glued on, most of which had the forward piece hanging out, waiting to be caught and torn.

So after buying 6 arrows and shooting them three times, I now have to work on three of them. Not that the work is hard or anything like that, it’s just the fact that I paid a steep price for mediocre work.

Now to end on a good note, these shafts themselves are straight, weighted evenly and appear to be tough. The ones I have that remain properly made shoot straight and leave my old wood shafts in the dust.

So ultimately the question is, would I recommend these to a friend. That depends on if and how Three Rivers corrects this issue and ensures that it does not happen in the future. I’m starting to hear more and more complaints about this same issue.

For reference I am shooting a 60# @ 28″ Pronghorn Custom longbow, 27. 5 draw and the 500’s with 125 gr points seem to be the correct match.

I’ve had my set of one dozen custom Gold Tip Traditional Arrows built by 3Rivers using their “arrow builder” for about sevens months now. I’ve shot them extensively and used them during a paper animal archery league at my sportsman’s club.

They’ve been used and abused; hit with other peoples arrows, shot into the wood target frame, trees, the dirt, ect. and fired thousands of times from my approx 50# recurve. They all still look and perform great! Not one broken arrow, not one lost fletching! I love this set of arrows so much I just bought another dozen in 400 spine for another bow of mine.

I don’t buy the pre-made ones because I prefer to have the wrap with pink and lime feathers so I can find them when I miss whatever small game I’m shooting at in the woods. If 3Rivers gives as much attention to building these as they do their custom orders though, then they are well worth the price.

I didn’t want to cut and tune etc. my bow and arrows and self, if something will change, so I invested in these to be an excellent baseline. For a sage 55#, 125gr tips, using the spine calculator here, I learned the length to cut these to.

Once I cut and took them out, I noticed how small changes in my form was predictably changing the flight path, they were flying incredibly well, grouping beyond what I thought was my capability. My 28″ test length for the arrow punched clean through my target that reliably stopped my others of similar weight, and one buried clean underground, I’ll have to look for it after some snow melts, these are heavy hitters.

I even called a cut down tree end, 3″, as my target, and hit it first shot of the day from about 15 yards away, as quite the amateur. They have an attractive faux wood finish that doesn’t look like a glossy picture of wood, it looks like wood.

I can only surmise the shield cut and helical 5″ feathers contribute to stability. The red feathers look amazing, with the wood tones and classic logos on the label. The nock moves freely up and down the string as others grip it, haven’t had any problems.

I think I’ll get another 6 tomorrow.

To be honest I wasn’t too happy when I first received them as they were. 204 diameter shafts and not the. 166’s that I am used to. After cutting them down I replaced the Blazer vanes with a wrap and TAC vanes (just my preference).

During the tuning process I found out that they tend to run higher than my lighter arrows, but they are right on track. They travel well and are very accurate once I adjusted my aim. I am glad that I kept them, and I will be looking to move to this size in the very near future.

I purchased a pairof the four leaf clover all weathers shoes for men not knowing what to expect. I received the all weathershoes at the Perfect time. Because it has been raining quite frequently her in New England.

So I was really excited to try my new All Weather Shoes out. I love them they kept my feet dry. I was walking threw puddles and it was raining cats and dogs. But my feet remained dry. These shoes are definitely a need to buy.

They work incredible and they are comfortable as well. I am very happywith my purchase of the Four Leaf Clover All Weather Shoes.

This is as close to perfection that you can get out the box. Bought the Elites and cut them to 29 inches at the nearby archery shop. They all weighed perfectly the same and spin tested them. All of them just came to a smooth rolled stop.

Prepped the shaft ends. Weighed the inserts they were all 22 gn. Took a new bag of field points and eliminated every one of them that weren’t 100 gn and glued them in. This is the first time I did not have to adjust anything.

The shafts tolerences are incredible. Wish I would have bought a whole dozen.

I have been using these arrows for many, many years. Have harvested deer with no problem every season. They fly true from my compound bow; and I shoot 3 fingers under the nock. I don’t mind if the fletch is red/white at times when I receive them; the deer I have harvested don’t seem to be bothered.

Sometimes I have received the arrows with the fletch orange/yellow. Again, the color of the fletch has never “spooked,” any deer I have harvested. These XX75’s have been manufactured by Easton for a very long time and I hope they never stop.

And they are made right here in the U. S. A. ! Made right every time; never had a bad batch or a bad arrow from a batch. I have gone through 4 bows over the years and each bow will always be nocked with the Easton XX75.

If it isn’t broke and it works for you, why change? I tried carbon from other companies and Easton too, these XX75’s just keep staying in my quiver.

The hit inserts were installed flush with the front of the arrow shaft instead of in the the shaft 3/8ths of an inch or so. Field points and broadheads stick out way to far and only go as deep as the threads on them.

I have removed hit inserts out of fmj 5mm before and had no problem but these inserts have been epoxyed in and no method of removal has budged them. Real disappointed man seeing as I have wasted 130 dollars on arrows I cannot use or resale because of the improper installation on the inserts.

Good arrows overall, they shoot quite well I use a 50lb recurve around 20 yards and they keep a nice straight flight. Only ran into a couple small problems with a knock falling out of a couple arrows and an insert trying to back out but a drop of super glue and 30 seconds of my time I was back to shooting no big deal.

You will need to buy tips and inserts for these arrows.

I bought these for practice. They fly very good. I’m very impressed. I’ve never had. wraps before. I like them. I have shot darn near every arrow brand there is and for the price of them you can’t beat it.

Ben bow hunting since 1987. I think I’ll throw some broad heads on and hunt turkey with them. I am very did pleased with the service I got when the kid cut my arrows. The Portland Maine store. He clearly did not know what he was doing since he cut them an inch and a half to long.

I’ll just use them for turkey.
