20 Best Hindi Comedy Movies On Amazon Prime (2023 Updated)

Can’t Buy me love practically nails the struggle of the so called “nerd” in high school to aspire to the most attractive girl in school. Patrick Dempsey’s portrayal of the quirky, but really likeable Ronald Miller is spot on and many 80s high school kids can relate to, especially as he transitions from the “cards with the tards” to the in crowd,with the resulting falls from grace along the way reminding us all that even as cool or popular as we might have thought ourselves to be, we had a little “nerd” in us all.

The supporting role by Amanda Peterson as the wildly popular, but deeply longing for love and acceptance Cindy Mancini reminds us that popularity at any price can often make us blind to those who would truly make us happy and that popularity can not only be overrated, but eventually lead us to conflict within ourselves and unhappiness in general.

This movie has a few quirks, with a slight undevelopment of friendships especially with Ronald Miller, who seems to flitter around with just about anyone, and does not seem to make a friend within the in crowd despite his acceptance and longing to be within the circle.

As for Cindy Mancini, her character seems to be more a sort of canned response and reactionary rather than the emerging depth of feelings Amanda Peterson would have been able to have truly expressed had the role allowed for more character development.

But otherwise, a rather shining example and a refreshing change from the typical oversexed, over the top laughs, and hack and slash that was typical of many 80s movies (ie: Porky’s, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and the Friday the 13th genre).

A movie ahead of its time and paving the way for nerds to become cool in the modern age!!.

I enjoy this movie for many reasons. Amanda Peterson plays a beautiful popular girl and Patrick Dempsey plays the cute goofy guy next door who pays her to date him. It’s an innocent movie everyone can enjoy.

Costumes and hair styles took me back to the 1980s. Anyone who went to high school can relate to the humor in this. Amanda Peterson tragically overdosed in July 2015, because during the time she was filming this movie, she was raped by a much older man and it haunted her the rest of her life.

she coped with drugs. Knowing this and seeing her act well in the movie and staying strong is truly an inspiration. My prayers go out to her and her family. This is an excellent movie!!!.

Purchased for my granddaughter who is 15, she loved it! I wasnt sure she would since its an 80s movie, but it looked pretty good. Come to find out it was also one of my daughters favorite movies at that time.

They loved watching it together, a perfect gift!.

Was so excited that season 2 FINALLY came out!! I used to watch this in college and have been looking for years for this to come out. I already own season 1 which I purchased years ago and looking forward to seasons 3 and 4 to come out! Crossing my fingers that it’ll be this year! Will buy the second I see them available on DVD! Like Die Hard, this is a Christmas movie not because it’s about Christmas, but because it takes place during the Christmas season. So if you’re looking for Santa, carolers, and a Hallmark plot, look elsewhere.

The movie has something like seven major subplots, all of which are intertwined by the relationships of the characters. I’ve watched it several times, and each time I watch it I learn something new. The subplots range from simple and sophomoric to sensitive, with varying amounts of hilarity and sadness.

Somehow, it all seems to come together, enough so that it has become one of the top ten holiday movies.

I hadn’t seen this movie, but it’s one that my wife kept telling me we should get and watch because it’s so good. Well, she was right. It was good. There were a few scenes that were not kid-friendly, which is weird for a “holiday movie”, but the various relationships all worked out and it was a satisfying movie experience.

“Love Actually” has become our Xmas favorite movie, so I figured it’s time to own a copy. The audio and video of Blu Ray disc is pretty good, considering the age of the movie. Is the movie really 17 years old? Anyway, we enjoy the different stories in the movie, and we never tire of the humor in most of the them.

Though the reunion scenes at the beginning and end are sappy, we love them. Highly recommended disc.

I’m a big Beatles fan. This is a wonderful premise for a movie. If you are a fan of the Beatles and Richard Curtis movies, this movie is perfect for you! But if you’re like me, and you’re a big Beatles fan but don’t particularly care for Richard Curtis movies, then the movies is not perfect, but you should see it anyway.

It’s still great, but you’ll just have to deal with the flaws. And if you’re not a Beatles fan, then what is wrong with you?.

What a wonderful movie this was. It is a family type movie that tugs at your heart. The story line was great and the acting was over the top. I thought that it would be a corny type of movie but it was a surprisingly great movie.

To be able to watch an endearing movie like this gives a feeling of warmth and hope. I like to watch a movie that isn’t full of blood and guts, or that scares you out of your wits. This movie is a keeper and will not disappoint you and the bonus is you can watch this one with your kids!! It is a movie that you like to watch over and over and still get a good feeling from. Isn’t that what watching a movie is all about? It leaves you entertained and leaves you feeling good. The movie shows how a child can be interested in the reasons for their parents getting a divorce and a parents quest to help their children understand that parents sometimes don’t make it.

I really liked the way the plot made it a story in order to help his daughter understand why her parents went together anymore but the movie takes it one step further to attempt to show how a new possibility of a “step” parent doesn’t take the place of a parent, but adds someone else to love instead.

This has become one of my favorite movies–a great romantic comedy! Ryan Reynolds has come a long way as an actor, and he is great in this movie. Isla Fisher is also good, and gets the benefit of delivering some great and memorable movie lines.

Abigail Breslin is cute as Ryan’s daughter, who wants to find out how he came to marry her Mom, and seeks to understand why they are now getting divorced. (I can’t tell you who the Mom is played by. you’ll have to watch to find out.

) For anyone that lived through Clinton-Gate, this will bring back some memories, as it takes us from the 90’s through today. Anyone who has had ups and downs in there job careers will be able to identify with Ryan’s character.

An then of course, anyone who has gone through the ups and downs of relationships will relate. Watch it now!.

this is the first time ive recieved a pre-owned dvd with this many scratches. if youre gonna put very good as the condition, please make sure it matches. im surprised the movie plays. thank you for the dvd tho.

Cute movie. I appreciate movies like this one due to its having an original idea. I am weary of new movies coming out which simply re-hash the same old story-lines. Also, if you enjoy the music of the Beatles, you will enjoy this.

The actors playing the key roles are not your typical pretty faces, but instead average looking down-to-earth characters, both in appearance and actions. Even the ending was not something you knew would happen when you were halfway through the movie (also refreshing in an age of re-makes).

Note: the Blu-ray does contain an alternate ending in its special features. The only flaw I found was that a historical figure in the movie, although spot-on in facial appearance, was about 6 inches shorter than the character being portrayed.

This is a minor grievance, but one that, for some reason, bothered me (especially when it could have been easily corrected with any of various techniques available). Again, it helps if you are a Beatles fan and know some of the history in order to fully appreciate some of the references in the movie.

I missed this film when it was in theatres and was anxious to see it. I’m a huge Beatles fan and thought the premise was cute. I watched it on a premium channel and, even with it’s flaws, could not get enough of the quirky, sweet story.

There is alot that doesn’t make sense about the screen play but the absolute “feel good” feeling plus endearing performances by the leads made me want to own this film. The added pleasure is that it comes with a digital download AND dvd version as well as the blu ray.

The price was right too.

This is a very cute movie with some surprisingly sweet moments throughout. The two leads are wonderful and they have great chemistry together. Just a fun romp in the world of a very peculiar woman who’s looking for someone to love.

If you need to laugh, give this one a chance!.

Refreshingly funny. Good job by both Simon Pegg and Lake Bell. I’m a Simon Pegg fan, though, usually enjoy almost everything he does. It’s light entertainment that’s well-written and easy to watch. It wasn’t Academy Award material, but it was worth the time.

A fresh dialogue driven charmer that will have you wondering why Lake Bell is not starring in more movies. Simon Peg turns in his most nuanced performance.

This collection contains two disks, which are totally shiny (without printed labels) on either side, so you have to flip them over to watch Miss Congeniality 1

Sandra Bullok is well known for Miss Congeniality and the second is just as funny. Two weeks notice was viewed 3x since I purchased the set and Miss Congeniality 1 and 2, two times. The Ya-Ya Sisterhood left me a little uncomfortable with behavior and themes, so I would not rate it as excellent.

Love these movies. But I have loved Sandra Bullock for a long time. The soundtrack is awesome. I have most of her films Good acting good actors.

If you want a film that has it all, look no further than this! Absolutely one of the best movies I’ve ever had the pleasure of viewing. beautifully crafted and photographed, perfect casting, lavish sets, amazing effects, comedy, romance, spectacle and ACTION; this beauty has it all and then some.

I picked it up on DVD and was amazed how good the audio and visual content was; it plays as well as most Blu’s, clarity is top notch, and the subtitles are accurate, well defined, and very easy to read.

An impressive film on all counts, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!.

I thought it sounded better in Telugu, but as i only understand English, the Hindi-dubbed version was just fine too. This movie has action, romance, treachery, intrigue, tragedy, music, dancing and some magnificent scenery.

One of the action scenes was too much to be believed (even by Bollywood/Tollywood standards), but other than that, I would and have been recommending this movie to others.

cons. Wishing i could swim at a waterfall like in this cinema. I inquired where this waterfall is, and discovered the filmmakers combined many real waterfalls to appear as this one spectacular one. sigh such beauty and strength of character.

My husband and I enjoyed the James Bond-like characters, story line and music, but found the language and jokes to be pretty immature and eventually tiresome. Three characters were written to have foul mouths: the heroine’s boss, a fellow agent and the lady-villain.

They were amusing because in a Bond film, their inappropriate language would never have been allowed. But then the soft-spoken, likeable heroine came out of her shell and turned into a somewhat unpleasant she-devil who swore like a sailor and had very long-winded insults for everyone who looked at her cross-eyed.

We were supposed to be happy for her finding herself, but it became tiresome and embarrassing to listen to her rants. The joke was that she’d been repressed by an overbearing mother which caused her to be an introverted under-achiever.

Unfortunately, this character turned into someone deserving of even more punishment. Who’s your favorite Simpsons character? Homer or Flanders? Mine is Flanders. I’d rather be more like him and live next door to him than Homer.

Our heroine went from a sweet, kind-hearted Flanders to Homer Simpson, combined with Mo Szyslak, the mean-spirited bartender, with a gun and a license to kill. The movie is worth a watch for good action and some very fun characters and dialogue, but if you’re over the junior high, potty mouth phase, you’ll grow weary of it here.

It’s been so long since I’ve successfully enjoyed a comedy. There’s been a few I liked, but most of them just aren’t funny. This film isn’t what most would call “sophisticated”, but it was well made.

The story that holds it all together is sturdy enough to hold the film together and not get in the way of the silliness. Perhaps if this is were the first spy movie ever made, some people would have had the same reaction to it that the Guardians of Peace had to THE INTERVIEW (2014).

But since this is basically a by-the-books spy movie, it’s nothing new to most people, except it’s thoroughly funny. It’s AUSTIN POWERS for the post 9/11 crowd. The excerpt on the cover that states “Funniest movie of 2015” may be spot on.

The only bad thing about that is when you reach the top, there’s nowhere to go but down. hopefully 2016 will rise to the challenge. Also: this film does have its “vulgar” moments, but they’re not included b/c “vulgar = funny”.

Obviously if you’re a prude, much of the film can be summed up by reading the explanation of the R rating, since any prude will prolly be too shocked by the various R rated sights&sounds to enjoy the rest of the film.

However, if inclusions of violence and nudity in a motion picture don’t get your nerves rattled, this can probably be thoroughly enjoyed.

Celebrity 50 Cent makes an appearance in Spy and the movie lists some of the following locations/settings: Varna Bulgaria, Langley Virginia, Rome Italy, and Budapest Hungary. It Is also listed toward the end of the Spy movie credits that the making and authorized distribution of this film supported over 13,000 jobs and involved hundreds of thousands of work hours.

Jennifer Ashton is always giving a good performance in all of her movies. This movie was meant to be a thriller and to me it was hilarious in lot of parts! But it did had parts of bloody scenes, excitement that will make you jump out of your chair.

great movie! this movie hold true to the horror flicks of the 90’s. this movie isn’t wrapped around a cheesy love story or contain a predictable ending like the movies of the last 10 years. it’s creepy and a great addition to my movie collection.

Incredibly cheesy, yet at the same time quite funny, tale about an evil leprechaun wreaking havoc in a small midwest town. The cast is surprisingly good for such a low-budget film, and debuts Jennifer Aniston in her first major role.

Nothing fancy about this dvd, fans should be happy it got released at all, but then again, so did all the other ridiculous ‘Leprechaun’ sequels, which aren’t even worth mentioning, let alone watching.

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are both comedic actors who will make you laugh. This movie that has both actors delivers funny moments. If youre a fan of either of the two actors this would be a movie to check out.

Once upon a time in America, life in prison meant precisely that. There was no early parole, no time off for good behavior. If you were sentenced to life, you could pretty much count on dying a prisoner in some godforsaken camp, farm or prison.

Eddie Murphy is a small-time crook in Prohibition-era New York trying to get out of debt to a Harlem mobster. He sets up a scheme of driving some Mississippi moonshine to the mobster’s speakeasy in New York.

He ropes in as his driver Martin Lawrence, a bank teller who has also fallen afoul of the mobster because of an unpaid gambling debt. Murphy’s character’s weak nature gets the better of him and after receiving the liquor shipment, he decides to do some gambling in a rural club.

He gets cheated by a local card sharp who later mouths off to the town sheriff, who murders him. Murphy and Lawrence have the misfortune of discovering the body, and being seen with it. They get, you guessed it, life in prison.

The two, initially antagonistic to one another, are forced to rely upon each other in the brutal work camp to which they are sentenced. Time passes and they dream of the freedom it seems will be denied them for a crime of which they aren’t guilty.

There are a lot of moving moments in “Life” and with Murphy and Lawrence, even more funny ones. There is social commentary in the form of how black men are treated in the South, but it isn’t strongly told or terribly compelling.

Other movies explore that subject in greater depth and with greater insight. The problem with “Life” is that the filmmakers aren’t sure whether they wanted to make a comedy, an examination of prison life in the Deep South of, say, 50 years ago, or a political/social commentary on the shaft given African Americans.

They decide to do all these things, and in fact their reach exceeds their grasp. “Life” really doesn’t give you any new insights into anything. It’s mainly an excuse to pair two of the brightest comic minds in America.

Watching the two at work individually is fascinating, but Lawrence and Murphy don’t generate enough chemistry to hold any interest as a team.

This movie is hilarious, Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence make a fantastic duo. This comedy is so funny. I enjoy it every time I watch it.

happy gilmore is one of his better movies from early in his career. it’s funny,silly at times,and entertaining. the fight with bob barker is classic. it’s a good movie to watch whenever you want to laugh.

No collection is complete with this comedy classic. Tgis movie made me an Adam Sandler fan.

If you are a fan of James Franco, then you know his humor going in. What you don’t know is how quirkily perfect the supporting cast is. Bryan Cranston, a perfectly befuddled father at every turn. The yin to his yang Megan Mullally tries to pull him into reality.

Zoey Switch gives a very believable performance as the daughter at the center of it all. But scene stealer Keegan-Michael Key has created a comedic genius if a right hand man as Gustav. Like I said the plot has been beaten to death but this cast puts a believable new age twist to today’s world.

I gotta feel this becomes a cult classic in a few years.

James dranco takes on his typical role. The movie is ok has some funny parts good for a few laughs and pikes at the millennial generation as well as gen x and old style standards and lack of adjusting to certain technologies.

This movie had gotten really good reviews. I was looking forward to checking it out. James Franco is one of my favorite actors. He has a really great range. But, this comedy felt as if it was trying too hard to get the laughs come naturally.

Franco is perfect as the millionaire boyfriend. But, in my opinion everyone else seems miscast, like they are not even in the same movie. I was disappointed and Franco does not usually stear me wrong.

I suggest skipping this.

This is a family-friendly, very cute and funny movie. I’ve had it on my DVR for a long time, but finally decided to purchase a copy. I never get tired of watching it. The children in it are perfect for the movie.

Eddie Murphy is a joy to watch as a nice dad who has been paying too much attention to work and not his sweet but lonely son. and with his funny co-worker, both having lost their jobs, starts a day care with mixed results at first but then sweet success.

Steve Zahn is a special treat.

I absolutely love this movie. I can’t say enough about the positive, fun, and life-affirming message. Rebel Wilson is such an underrated talent. She’s one of my favorite actresses working in Hollywood right now.

Mark Wahlberg plays John Bennett, and when he gets older, wants to be with hottie Lori Collins, played by the nice-looking Mila Kunis, the conflict begins when Lori does not want to include Ted in their “future” life together.

This movie was Nominated by the People’s Choice Award Board for the Category of a Favorite Comedic Movie.

3. 5 STARS – I heard so much hype about this movie. definitely hype! Granted, it had it’s funny parts but it’s not worth buying. I’ve laughed more watching one 22min episode of South Park than this whole movie.

The only reason I bought it was because RedBox doesn’t carry this title(Idk why). Ted sounds identical to Peter Griffin and with Mila Kunis(voice of Meg) starring in this movie, it just feels like a drawn out episode of Family Guy brought to life(real Life).

Surprisingly delightful, a gas. Absolutely believable. A bit of a spoof, but Wahlberg is excellent at pulling it off. I wouldn’t have picked it, but my friends talked me into seeing it, and yes. it was truly funny.

It had a great story. It told how men take advantage of lonely women to get to their children. It also was about true friendship. It told how a teenager had a baby and come out on top making a name for herself.

Sweet and heart warming story with an entertaining group of characters. A bit unconventional but still with a lot of heart and humor.

This is my favorite movie! It made an instant star out of Natalie Portman! I love it! I’ll order it on Blu-Ray when it becomes available.

These are both very funny movies. I never opened this set cause I already had a set that I bought a while back. When I like a movie I always buy a extra set, I collect movies that I like.

Good ole Grumpy Old men and the sequel, always liked watching the movies growing up back then. Kudos for availability.
