20 Best Herbal Essence Shampoo For Curly Hair (2023 Updated)

This product holds curl but contains both paragons and sulphate. I wanted something free from these ingredients and purchased on Amazon. I had been using LUS brand but it’s expensive. I noted no ingredients listed on Amazon which should have been my first clue.

But, on various websites and Instagram, this is listed as “curly girl approved”. It DRIES my hair and so I came here, to look at the ingredients. It’s going to the garbage now that I know why my hair is so dried out after use.

Please be more open about your products and their ingredients on other websites. I wasted money and would have made proper selections had I known. I think this is your idea in order to push and sell your products.

I have used Totally Twisted for years. I freaked out when they took away the shampoo and conditioner for a more natural line because I had finally found a product that gave me perfect non-frizzy waves.

They finally brought it back, but then replaced it again with another version of it and there is something clearly different because while it does define my waves more than other products, my hair remains frizzy, which doesn’t make it worth the use compared to Aussie’s products.

I even have new bottles of the old formula that I have been switching off with the new every couple days for comparison. Definitely a difference. Please stop messing with a good thing! I’m so sad it keeps getting taken away.

If you want to have a more natural line in addition, fine. But when you have a unique formula that actually works for wavy/curly hair, leave it alone! Have some confidence in your product instead of changing it on your customers every year or so.

I’ve tried numerous products from various manufacturers, low-end and high-end, and haven’t been able to find anything to hold my curls in place without them frizzing. Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Hair Mouse is just the right mix of hold and lightweight styling without feeling sticky or hard in my hair.

I had to laugh this morning, though, because the instructions on the bottle say to style your hair until you reach “imperfection. ” When dealing with extremely curly hair, every day is a imperfect day when it comes to hair styling.

Throw in summer heat and humidity, and I just want to put a bag over my head! LOL! I hope this is just a typo on the can, and they meant to say “until you reach perfection. ” Besides the typo, this is a perfect product for me!.

I don’t usually like using a Conditioner from a supermarket/chemist as I don’t think I’ve ever tried one that’s worked well for my hair type. They normally leave my hair feeling super dry and frizzy but this Herbal Essences range is surprisingly fantastic! It does a fabulous job at moisturising and softening my hair.

I like that it comes in a manageable 400ml bottle. It’s not too heavy or big to hold and sits in my shower caddy perfectly. It also has a flip top lid which I like as I find this easy to use. This conditioner is white and quite thick.

It slips through the mid lengths and ends of my hair with ease. It smells the same as it’s matching shampoo and is absolutely divine. I love that the fragrance of this range lingers in my hair for days leaving it smelling freshly washed.

I like to leave the conditioner in my hair for a few minutes to do it’s thing and once rinsed out my hair feels surprisingly soft and easy to manage. This conditioner does a great job at replenishing my hairs moisture.

I’ve never used a cheap conditioner that has given me such great results ever. I’ve noticed that after using this for 3 weeks my hair is easier to manage and less frizzy. This range definitely has helped my hair to feel more smooth and my hair is really shiny.

This range has definitely repaired my dry damaged hair after continued use. I would definitely purchase this again. It’s such a fantastic range at a low price point.

I bought this plus the shampoo for my husband. He used it twice and then noticed he had terrible hair loss. There was hair all over the collar of his shirt, a shocking amount. It had just fallen out of his head during the day.

I’m leaving this review in case anyone is here looking for decent keratin-safe options, which are hard to find at the drugstore level. If you have keratin-treated hair, you need to avoid sodium chloride and SLS, and most drugstore level shampoos have both of those ingredients because they clean your hair nicely and lather up in big satisfying suds.

The problem with this shampoo is that it doesn’t clean your scalp well. I feel like I need a clarifying shampoo right after using this. It leaves my scalp feeling gummy, and if you have an overproliferation of skin cells (e.

It’s one of those sweet, creamy fragrances, like vanilla. If you hate that warm, cloyingly sweet type of scent, you will not like this shampoo. To me, warm, sugary scents don’t belong in shampoos, because they don’t feel clean and fresh.

If you are trying to protect hair color or keratin, there are a few other options out there, such as the Aveeno sulfate-free line. I will not be repurchasing this Herbal Essences Potent Aloe Hemp duo, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I cared about.

Over time, the brand has matured into an eco-friendly, sustainable, forward thinking option. The formula is Cruelty-free, free of parabens+mineral oil, has a recyclable container and was made with energy that comes from renewable sources.

I recommend this to anyone who gets product or oil build-up easily between washes, because the sulfates do a great job of pulling the oils off of the strands of hair. However, I do not recommend this to someone with amazing color, as it will fade it over time and there are better sulfate-free options out there.

I received this product as part of the BeautyCrew Review. What I really like about the Herbal Essences Argan oil of Morocco Conditioner is that it provides just the right amount of hydration to my hair without leaving it oily or weighing it down.

Argan oil is amazing and does wonders for your hair so I’ve always tried to use products with argan oil in them before, but some aren’t always as delicately balanced as this product. This conditioner worked so well for hydrating and nourishing my hair while also taming frizz and keeping hair shiny and soft.

The product is creamy and smells great. It lathers well, which helps to coat your whole hair in the product, ensuring that every bit is washed and clean. My hair and scalp feel clean yet hydrated and it doesn’t feel heavy on my hair.

My scalp is not flaky or dry. The argan and Morocco scent is beautiful not over powering. I will continue to use this product it’s definitely something my colour treated hair needed. I recommend pairing it with the shampoo for the extra hydration.

I loved that the shampoo garnered a thick lather upon use which helps when I’m massaging the shampoo from root to tip. The day after use I can certainly feel how much softer my hair is and this goes to show that it indeed works to moisturize each strand as it claims to do.

The aloe and honey scent smells amazing and it doesn’t smell like those artificial aloe vera scent you normally find in beauty products. It reminded me of the luxurious spa days back during those non-COVID times when I holidayed in Bali.

I am all for finding products that help to take my curls so I was very excited to try the Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Shampoo + Body Wash. First off the packaging is great. The entire package including top is recyclable.

Plus the plastic is clear so you can see the amazing purple color of the shampoo. Opening the product I was immediately taken to some fruit paradise because the smell is amazing! The consistency is much like any shampoo and application was also the same.

I shampooed twice as I normally do. The product felt like it was cleansing my hair nicely and it seemed a smidge smoother after washing. In order to test the product thoroughly one cleaning I only used shampoo then air dryer and then two days later I shampooed twice but added the corresponding conditioner then allowed my hair to air dry.

With just the shampoo I noticed some improvement in the bounce of my curls. They didn’t feel as weighed down. However they were extremely dry and the frizz was a bit crazy. The second time with conditioner my hair was full of bounce but still dry with little control of my curls.

I would recommend this product to someone who maybe doesn’t have as much curl, or their hair isn’t as thick and course as my own. It just really didn’t give me the effect I was hoping for based on the description.

I bought this shampoo because I was looking for a sulfate and silicone free shampoo to follow the curly method. Despite not having sulfates, it makes a lot of foam, it is something that I personally like because it gives me a more clean feeling, although I know it is not.

It leaves the hair quite soft and the aroma is very good and the hair lasts a long time. The size is the usual 250ml size. I have been using the bottle for more than 2. 5 months and using it 2 times a week and I still have about 1/4 of the bottle left.

This use to be a staple. I’ve probably bought this shampoo 3-4 times over the years. I’ve enjoyed the scent. It’s quite sweet compared to other higher end shampoos with coconut scents. Definitely delivered hydration.

I have thick hair so hydration is a must. I did go and get a hair cut once and was told they could see the film/synthetic residue on my hair follicles. I was using a clarifying shampoo with this shampoo which I think helped lessen the residue.

Can’t lie seeing the reside being scraped off my hair was a turn off. However not the sole reason why I’ve decided to stop using it. As I am now in my 20s I’ve matured to other shampoos that are just higher in quality and better for my hair and color safe.

This was a great product for years. Now…it’s hard to understand if it’s been changed somehow. The image says “You may receive either of these products” So, is the shampoo different from the bodywash/shampoo combo? The shampoo and conditioner has a gel-like texture and a charming blue color. Smells like sweet coconut. Packaging was nice and convenient. The lid closes tightly, nothing leaks, which allows you to squeeze out the right amount of shampoo.

The shampoo foams well. A little goes a long way, so it is very economical. Hair is soft, smooth and silky. It is easily washed off without leaving any film.

I’ve used Herbal Essences since I was a Teem, mainly for the smells but now more so on how healthy I feel my hair is as I bleach my hair. I love the different hair care types. I generally use ” Damaged or coloured hair” but I’m a hairdresser so I mix it up and buy all hair types for my customers and they always comment on how divine their hair smells and how healthy it feels! When I say it’s Herbal Essence for some reason they are shocked! Recently brought this shampoo, it smells divine; a really nice gentle strong smelling strawberry. It doesn’t smell like milt but feels fresh like a mint shampoo. The product as an overall was not the best for my type (ringlets/curly) which was the only downside to it although I enjoyed the smell.

Its not very hydrating but that might be down to my hair type, it might work well if your hair is not curly or dry.

I loved using this conditioner and found it gave fantastic results, especially when paired with the matching shampoo. Packaging wise, I did prefer the shampoo bottle though as the conditioner tube was more cumbersome to use.

The packaging made sense and was a great idea, but I personally found it cumbersome to use. It was a bit slippery and due to the size and type of material it scrunched up too much so it was tricky to use one-handed.

I also found the lid didn’t close as easily and tightly as the shampoo, so due to being on the shower floor it did collect water which spilled out when picking up. I would prefer a similar bottle to the shampoo, with a wider opening to allow it to dispense easier, or a pump bottle.

Apart from the packaging, the conditioner is perfect! I didn’t need to use heaps to get adequate results, which is a big deal with long hair as it can get costly to burn through product. My hair felt nourished and healthy, soft and tangle-free.

It was smooth and hydrated and the results last longer between washes than other conditioners I’ve used. I didn’t notice much of a scent at all, unlike the shampoo, though I do have a weak sense of smell.

My daughter said she could smell it though and found it pleasant. I would definitely recommend this conditioner to anyone who wants healthy looking and feeling hair, especially those who might believe certain toxic ingredients are necessary for effective results.

The Herbal Essences Bio:renew Potent Aloe and Avocado Oil Nourishing Shampoo has a fresh, spicy scent to it that lasts for hours. It ticks off most of the things I look for in a shampoo for example no paragons, sulphates, ect.

The added oil is what I always look for in a shampoo which is another tick. It cleanses the scalp well and doesn’t make the hair feel really dry which is very important for me. It also helped slightly detangle the hair, however I wish it was a bit more moisturising.

It worked well on frizzy hair (didn’t make the hair frizz as much) I would definitely purchase this for my daughter but I would personally prefer something more moisturising as I have naturally curly hair.

The packaging of the bottle and the design is very eye catching and looks really good. If I saw this at the shops, as a consumer, I would have definitely bought for 2 reasons, 1 the packaging and 2 the details listed on the bottle.

If this was not a virtually free offer, from Influenster, and Sam’s Club, I most likely wouldn’t have tried it. For starters, both the shampoo and conditioner come in huge, pump-style dispensers, in different colors, so I can actually tell which one is which.

The smell is beautifully fragrant, like a floral/salon scent that lingers in hair. With the pump-action dispenser, I can easily get enough product in my hand to fully saturate my hair and scalp, enough to bubble up.

Bought this product because my hair was pretty dry due to the previous damage done due to coloring but after cutting off the color I wanted to start using more oils and wanted a shampoo that gives a clean wash but with added benefit for my hair.

At first I thought the smell would’ve been awful because of the oil but when I came home and used it the scent was definitely amazing. Depending on the volume and length of your hair a little does a lot for me especially since I have the habit of double washing it leaves my hair feeling extra clean, light weight and without any tangles.

Since using this I’ve seen a decrease in the amount of hair fallouts and my hair looks like it’s been growing and it’s definitely very silky and glowing after air drying without any frizz. I would highly recommend to give it a try if you have been any issues like I was, I am going to repurchase.

Hi girls, I have mixed feelings about this product. I have been practicing the curly method during 2 years meaning no silicones and no sulfates on my Hair products. But I decided to give a change to this brand, even though it is not curly method approved.

My hair began to shed a lot, I don’t now if it is from this product or just stress. the shedding began at the same time when I started using it. I am taking the product out of my routine and see if the shedding stops.

I received this shampoo in a vox box. I love Herbal essence so I already knew that I would like this shampoo, and that it would smell great! I have naturally wavy hair that tends to get dry and frizzy.

I absolutely love this shampoo. I’ve tried many volumizing shampoos (including high-end brands like Pureology) and keep coming back to this one. Volumizing shampoos tend to be drying, which is mostly because excess oil can weigh down thin hair.

To add that moisture back in, try weightless finishing products like Biosilk that can combat the dryness while allowing you to reap the full benefits of this shampoo! Also keep in mind that one person’s “dry” is another person’s “texture.

I’ve been using this shampoo for about 6 months. When Covid hit I decided to stop coloring my hair. I wasn’t going anywhere, so why not give my hair a break and save the money. It took 2 years to completely grow out the color and much to my surprise my friends told me my grey hair was beautiful.

I love how it makes my hair feel. However. When the switch was made from Mosa Mint to just mint. my shampoo started oit clear like usual. now it’s white. like. IN the bottle. I’m so confused. is this normal? did the formula change? should I not use it and buy new? I’ve only had this for like a month and it just started turning in the last 2 days.

I’m a bit worried tbh. HELP IS APPRECIATED.

Purchased: Herbal Essences Curls Jojoba Oil & Lavender shampoo and conditioner My Hair: Curl pattern a mix of type 2 curls. Medium coarseness. A LOT of it. Colored and Highlighted. Tends to be on the dry side.

Price/Value: A lot of product for the price. 29. 2 oz for under $10 per bottle is a great value if the products work well on your hair. Shampoo: Clear. Conditioner: Thick and Cream like. Fragrance: I was expecting more of a Lavender scent but I smelled something more than just Lavender and Jojoba oil.

It wasn’t bad, it was just different from what I was expecting. The fragrance is strong. Performance/Outcome: The shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling dry. Even after using my leave in product, it still didn’t feel that good.

It was better after I showed it some extra love with more hair oil. Summary: This is a great value product if it works well on your hair. It did not work well for me. I think my hair does better with a creamy shampoo and creamy conditioner combo.

I have very thick, curly hair. This causes me to wash my hair less often due to my hair being prone to being dry. But when I do wash my hair, I want something that leaves my hair and scalp feeling clean.

The jojoba oil and lavender line from Herbal Essences is awesome. The bottle is very nice and easy to dispense the product. The lather is great and smells fantastic. It’s an herbal and calming scent so I especially love using this close to bedtime too.

It does a great job of cleaning my hair and I don’t notice any leftover residue. My hair doesn’t feel like it’s begging for hydration after using which is a big plus. I’ve had that issue with other shampoos but not this one.

It just leaves my hair clean and happy. I love it and I definitely recommend!.
