20 Best Heat Resistant Peel And Stick Backsplash (2022 Updated)

I used these in my Mom’s kitchen and 2 small bathrooms. The tile in both bathrooms has stuck and looks great, but in the kitchen it keeps coming unstuck from the walls around the stove every time she uses the oven.

I washed the walls, first with a soap and water mix, then with alcohol, then we painted the walls with 2 coats of paint before applying the tiles. At this point some of the tile panels look like they have slipped down the wall and the seams don’t match up.

I don’t know what to do to try to get them to adhere better, but given how they have moved down the wall if may mean I’ll have to remove and replace all the tiles in that section of the kitchen. All that is to say that it seems great as a backsplash for a bathroom sink area but maybe not for the kitchen around the stove.

I would not say these are the easiest to install. Takes time and patience. Definitely can tell it’s not real tile, but I figured that would be the case. Got them so it would make our area behind the stove easier to clean (and more attractive), but exposure to heat has necessitated re-sticking them from time to time.

I would probably not use them again for this purpose, but maybe as a sink backsplash they would work better.

We used this peel and stick tile in our trailer to create a nice clean backsplash look. It was fairly easy to install and we have had no issues with any of the pieces lifting (even the ones we had to re-stick a few times when we didn’t line it up just right).

Great price, would definitely buy again.

These are beautiful, but the absolute lack of instructions and information was unwelcome and made things more difficult than it needed to be. The tiles have been up for about a week and they’re already peeling up at the wall corners despite my best efforts.

The edge pieces I purchased to go with these were nowhere near long enough and again, no instructions or info about how to apply them. I did the best with what I could cobble together from the internet, but still had unanswered questions.

These would be a 5 star product with the right customer support and information included. Also suggest having a grid printed on the backing paper to help with cutting. The tiles themselves really are gorgeous, so if you know how to use these tiles, don’t hesitate.

Needed an easy backsplash fix for low cost. This is the answer. Cuts easier with scissors and tile overlap gives a seamless product. Nobody can tell it’s not real glass tile until they’re up close and feel it.

Tip: I saved all the few rows and edges that needed to be cut around widow, etc. These pieces are great for finish behind fridge and saved me 3 whole tiles. These can be cut for edging around bathroom or basement counter or just for emergency! Excellent chick fix!.

I was pretty disappointed with this peel and stick tile. The website made it appear it was far more three-dimensional and had better color than what I received, especially considering I’d liked the SmartTiles I’d seen in person in the big box stores and product a friend purchased for her home.

What I received was a cheap print job on a sticker with very little three dimensionality. The Smart edging stickers I purchased were also lighter in color than what was represented online, which was hard to discern anyway.

I returned the order.

Stylish self adhesive tiles which have transformed my kitchen area. Easy to apply over existing tiles and cut to size. Very happy with results which switch up a tired kitchen.

I bought these to put in the kitchen behind the hob. The backsplash was easy to put up and the pattern is lovely and a neutral colour. Looks great!

I purchase this sight unseen in hopes it will coordinate with my granite counter and my risk paid off. I didn’t have time nor the help to put up traditional backsplash tiles dealing with cutting and adhesive, mess etc.

I wasn’t sure how much to purchase, thankfully this was on sale at first I bought 5 packs, then came back to buy an additional 3, needless to say I have 2packs left over. My only concern is some of the areas that I guess the tile laid over other tile a bit have refused to cooperate and stay down they are not sticking and staying put, from time to time I have to smooth them over to keep down.

Other than that this backsplash is beautiful it transformed my kitchen from dull gray, to homely and warm. I don’t regret my purchase. I am a fan of Roommates decor.

I loved the pattern of this and how well it brought my kitchen together. Think it is very expensive but seemed to be a good solution for what Im working with. I was really excited to put it up. I had to wait 3 weeks because I just painted and wanted to follow the instructions to the T.

Today I finally got to start putting it up!! IT IS HORRIBLE!!! The tiles (which I purchased all at the same time-so same batch) DO NOT LINE UP!! I have tried every possible combination! They are just not made right! Wasted 2 pkgs on my wall ($50+) Will be returning the rest and coming up with a different solution!!.

The reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the product information for these tiles is incorrect. Each package contains 4 tiles and they are only 10″x10″, so do not read the section that says a package covers 9 square feet when it really covers less than 4 square feet! When I called Target to let them know about the incorrect product info I was blown away by how lovely and helpful their customer service was.

They helped me get a few more packages on a rush delivery so that I could finish my project as soon as possible. Aside from needing to order more than expected these tiles look really nice and stick well.

The texture is different from what I expected, they feel kind of rubbery but they do seem a nice quality and are easy to wipe off. They do not feel like tile or marble at all. The edges follow the hexagon shape so you need to trim the sides to fit against anything flat like other walls or countertops.

I used these stick on “tiles” to cover an ugly, outdated fireplace surround in my rental unit. It looks about a million times better and I’ve received a ton of compliments. One caveat, they were a little more difficult for me to cut up and align perfectly so it doesn’t look all that great up close (but let’s be honest, that more user error than anything else!).

Why are these sticky on the top side? It seems like any stray dog hair would stick to these. Very odd. I wonder if this goes away over time or once they have been wiped down enough times?

These tiles are really pretty and just what I needed. They helped me update my ancient kitchen. My evil landlord never installed a proper backsplash in my kitchen, so I took out the terrible boards he’d tacked up and replaced them with these stick-on tiles.

They look great! It totally changes the look of my kitchen. It looks brighter and more modern. However, the tiles were a PAIN to install. You need a lot of patience and hours of time to align and cut to fit the space.

If you’re just doing a small wall, it’s probably quick and easy, but I had 3 walls that were a bit bumpy and not perfectly even in size. So, buyer beware, set aside A LOT of time to do this if you want it to look accurate and even.

Very thin. Bought for going around a sink, disappointed that it’s barely thicker than a standard sticker. The bulging glass effect is a very thin coating of rubber (not plastic) which cracked and ripped and crumbled off at the edges where I cut it, despite using a very sharp scissors OR a brand new blade on a craft knife.

Expensive too. Pictures show it around sinks and on stair treads, where I can’t see it lasting more than a few weeks before it is damaged. It also wasn’t as strongly adhesive as it would need to be to withstand cleaning.

GREAT PRODUCT. Nice coastal vibe. I did a kitchen backsplash area that was previously painted. After many months the tiles look great. Just be sure to wipe then now and then with a damp gentle cloth to keep them clean.

Pretty easy to install, just take your time and follow instructions, including the amount of extras you may need for your square footage. I found two knife types helpful. A standard artist X-acto knife plus a standard box cutter.

Keep them sharp, replace blades to keep your cuts meticulous! Use a good cutting mat underneath, a mat with measurements on it. I would recommend this product, really pretty and quite robust. Upon first look, a friend thought I installed ceramic tile, not kidding.

Perfect for those high traffic, kid spill areas and messy fingers on the kitchen wall. Such as behind the kitchen trash can. Also a great back splash for the gas range. I love it! This is my second purchase.

Absolutely awful. Thought it would be thinker than it was for the price. Wasted £36. It’s like paper Even smoothing it causes it to rip. can see every bump through it. Don’t bother if your getting it for over tiles.

You can’t smooth over the grout lines.

Ordered based on the photo and it looks nothing like that! It’s cheap looking, shiney, grey, like children’s puffy stickers you get at the dollar store. Saw the same thing at walmart but thought this was different due to the misleading photo.

They look really lovely on my splashback, but because of the shape they are tricky to put up. My splashback space was quite small and a regular rectangle shape, with just a light switch to cut around, but it takes ages to line up the curves and carefully cut around them.

Also be aware there is quite a lot of wastage because of needing to cut a straight edge – I ended up having to buy an extra packet. In hindsight I would order 1 more packet over what you think you will need.

Delivery was 5 days for me, and I couldn’t click and collect to my local store, so it meant I had to wait to finish my project. I think it would have been easier to buy extra, get it finished and then return if I got an extra packet left over.

Love the color!It required more sheets than I was expecting because of wanting a clean line at the bottom and edges so there was significant waste. I would choose an easier pattern for larger projects.

Once I used a level for lining up the sheets installation was smooth.

Not as simple as I thought! The scallops are larger than the pictures infer and the overlap edge of the sheets was the wrong one for our starting point making it really difficult to work backwards, I have ended up making a cardboard template of the area – above a cloakroom vanity unit and down the wall at the side of the unit, only 4 sheets but so far several hours of working out time they are on the wall but several have begun to unstick, had to get a spare pack so overall not that good.

Very nice product. Made a big improvement to our kitchen. They don’t even look like stick-on. Make sure you place it where you want it the first time. Simply put, they stay in place.

Very disappointed! The pattern is beautiful but the product is poor quality. It rips easily and its very difficult to peel off the backing. I had to order more just because we had so much waste from tearing.

So happy with these! Looks the closest to real tile and really updates my kitchen. Applying is fairly easy but peeling off to reapply will mess up the paint. The directions say to lightly sand the wall which I was too lazy to do, so I bet that would help with the paint.

Being patient while applying is definitely going to be beneficial. I have gotten so many compliments on this!!.

For years I had wanted to replace some very old wallpaper on my kitchen walls. I’m not at all handy so I needed something easy but didn’t want to simply paint. I also wanted some sort of pattern so that my old countertops would blend in more and be less noticeable.

These peel and stick tiles fit the bill, and they were so easy to put up! When needing to cut one I recommend cutting from the back, not the front, I found that worked much better. They aren’t heat proof so I put a section of champagne-colored stainless steel tiles immediately behind the stove.

The champagne color is perfect with the color of the Vintage Venezia tiles. My only complaint, and it’s minor, is that some of the tiles have a tiny number printed in black on a front corner. It would take some planning to try to ensure that those corners get covered up by the neighboring tile, but it’s not particularly noticeable if they’re showing, either.

Overall I’m very happy with these tiles.

LOVE! These are amazing. Funky. Retro. They look amazing in my vintage RV. The sheet tiles are light and easy to cut and easy to install. They have quite a shiny appearance. Love them.

This tile was really easy to work with and provided such a nice light refresh to our kitchen! The only teeny complaint I would have is that some of the edging has a silver trim almost so it adds a shine when the light hits it which isn’t characteristic of brick.

So my recommendation would be that for those pieces just do a very small trim to remove the silver so your project looks as realistic as possible!.

I do love the look. was not as easy as I expected. By starting at the left, as suggested, the top row did not line up properly. There was some of a ‘rig-job’ that needed to be done. But, once it is up and completed -nobody would know unless I tell them.

Mums the word! I LOVE the look. it does look very, very real. I am still searching for the proper ‘end bar’ to make them look ‘thicker’ at the end of the backsplash. I will find it! BEAUTIFUL.

This product is amazing! What an inexpensive way to transform your home. What I love about this product is it easy to “install” ( scissors and retractable utility knife). In a few years, when your ready for a change, it will also be easy to remove.

I placed this over the old 90’s tile on my fireplace and wow–love this look! Just be sure to purchase enough. I did not and now I am waiting like a kid a Christmas for my second order :).

A truly high-quality product, looks like genuine tile without all the mess and upkeep of grout. Easy to install, with the purchase of some additional tools for cutting (the instructions say to use a utility knife, but we learned the hard way that’s insufficient).

These look so good installed as our kitchen backsplash. Shipping was quick and once you get the hang of it they are easy to install. Cutting is a little hard, I found that the vinyl cutter works the best when cutting.

Another great item, It work Perfect for my project. Looks like real stone. Had some joint that wasn’t flush. But problem solved with a little latex caulking. Let dry for 5 minutes and wipe the excess with a damp cloth.

Purchased these to update my plain kitchen. I was torn on which tile to go with, but I sent pics of my space to the Design Team and they pointed me towards the Milano Fabrini. I was looking for a tile that would work with my existing color scheme, but also any colors that I may go with in the future.

The installation wasn’t difficult, but let me offer you a tip that I didn’t figure out until one tile in: if working from left to right – make sure that the the letter code and overlap writing on the tile is in the bottom left corner.

If working from right to left the code and overall writing should be in the upper right corner of the tile. The tiles have given my space an elevated look. The various tones and sheens in the tile really help add dimension.

My kitchen looks so pulled together now. These tiles are very realistic looking. I’m waiting on my Smart Edge arrive so I can finish up.

It was easy to install and cut so I could fit it around outlets. I would recommend for areas that don’t have a lot of moisture or humidity. Use Gorilla glue on edges if they roll up. A friend thought these were glass tiles at first glance.

She was surprised it was a vinyl tile. She said the backsplash really looks expensive. I will use again.

I installed these tiles in my garage two months ago and I must say that it now looks great! They protect my drywall from water damage when washing my car, dirt and from everyday traffic (ie. car doors).

It was a 3 hour job to install 140 tiles and didn’t need anything other than a level, pencil and box cutter. My neighbours have seen my garage in which they couldn’t believe their eyes, they thought I had installed real marble.

They have since started their own Smart Tiles projects in their own garages now!!.

Love Smart tiles! We added them to our pull behind camper for a terrific update over the standard backsplash that was way too masculine. Husband did it in a few hours. I love that this makes our camper unique and homey.

The cream color is beautiful and realistic looking. Cuts were a little tedious, but that’s any tile project right? Some very minor issues with the finer points of the herringbone pattern not sticking down completely but, you have to be right next to it to notice.

Just wish Smart Tiles provided more trim options/ colors to finish off projects. The two options available ( silver and bronze) do not go with the cream herringbone look at all so we are left to get creative.

Will DEFINITELY buy smart tiles again.

I started out just doing a backsplash behind the sink/oven. Liked it so much I decided to do half of another wall where all my small appliances (e. g. microwave) are. Just discovered the finishing edging that’s available and will use that soon to add a nice edging.

There were a few rough patches on the walls, but the adhesive worked fine and now you can’t tell there was ever a problem. My kitchen looks so much better now. Many videos on YouTube to watch. Took a little practice to get the cutting right for the hard spots around outlets and window ledges (keep your boxcutter edge really sharp and really DO use a cork-backed ruler!) I’m so happy I discovered these.

When I redo upstairs bathroom, will use again! One very happy customer.
