I had wanted to dye my hair a bright color for years, and never had until now. But I could not be happier with the results! Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink is so vibrant and absolutely gorgeous! Now, I honestly don’t know why it took me so many years to attempt coloring my hair, and I have a feeling that using Manic Panic is going to be a new addiction! I definitely recommend this dye to anyone who wants would love their hair to be a vibrant, bright, and powerful hot pink hue.

I did have best results on the top of my head where I achieved a lighter shade of yellow with bleach before adding the color. The rest of my hair revealed a slightly redder pink tint, where my yellow bleached hair came out slightly darker.

However, it was still a beautiful color all around!.

I love manic panic so much honestly, so i’ve never dyed my hair before and I was able to choose between manic panic or arctic fox and I’m so glad I chose manic panic. First off it was really easy to apply, we had a little bit of trouble at first because the brush didn’t really fit in the jar and we didn’t really want to use the dye bowl so we just kinda used the glove that was included in the bleach kit and slapped it on and it was really creamy and nice.

After I fully saturated the parts I was dying I still had more than half the container left which is amazing but keep in mind I only did the underside of my hair and my bangs. I slept overnight with it which, yes, it is safe to do that but I had to read up on it so I did that and I put the cap on from the bleach kit and a plastic bag and slept.

When I woke up my hair felt so nice honestly and the dye was still wet, probably because my head sweat or something (gross) but I showered and I noticed that it was a little bit hard to get all the dye out and i wasn’t sure whether i should have shampooed or not but I know when I got I still had color in.

My hair is wavy and I wasn’t sure what it would do so I didn’t put in any products and I just left my hair to dry. My hair didn’t even get frizzy while air drying, It kind of just felt very soft and conditioned and it had lots of volume and I was pleasantly surprised.

Its been around 1 and a half months and It is just starting to fade which is crazy to me and its almost turning into a peachy pink almost. So here are some things i’d like to include, I thought it would be a more purpley-pink color but It turned out to be hot pink which I am not even mad about and I kind of love it more, I wash my hair every other day which I was skeptical about and I thought it would make the color fade fast but it really hasn’t faded fast and if you go longer without shampooing it will probably last you even longer.

Overall I will not be using any other dyes other than manic panic.

I received this product and was eager to trial it. There’s nothing quite like a colour touch up to make you feel a little more refreshed and energised! The product was super easy to use and everything needed was contained in one compact box.

I followed the directions with ease and all progressed to plan. The end result was reasonably true to the desired colour although my hair did end up more orange than I had anticipated. I accept this can happen with hair colours because there are so many factors that contribute to the end result.

The hair colour did address my primary concern – covering the dreaded greys! The smell was not offensive as can happen with some brands and I liked the fuss free application process. A major benefit is the convenience of doing this at home at a time that suits me and a cost that is budget friendly! I have had my colour now for a week and the colour at this stage is still looking fresh with great coverage.

I would suggest that anyone with thick hair or very long hair should invest in two packets and not chance a dye disaster!! I have long hair but it is very thin so one packet for me was sufficient. Overall – I will be using this product again!.

Staff Review by BC’s Tamara I’m not going to lie – I have greys. Lots of them. But the Clairol Nice’n Easy Permanent Hair Dye did a mighty fine job of making them disappear! I have actually used this dye in the past, and can’t recommend it enough.

The range of colours on offer is wonderful as there is something there for everyone. I have dull brown hair, so usually opt for a warm shade to brighten my colour – I used the Medium Chestnut Brown 5RB.

The instructions are clear and easy to follow and after spending 10 mins applying the product as thoroughly as I could, it took a simple 25 minutes to penetrate before washing it out and conditioning.

The colour completely covered my greys (which was my main objective), but overall my hair looks so much healthier as it is shiny and the colour has more life to it. My favourite thing about this dye is that the colour brings out the natural highlights I have and it looks really natural.

At $12. 99 the Clairol Nice’n Easy is a bargain as it is a high quality product and I would recommend it!.

I am absolutely in love with this semi- permanent hair dye. I did have dark hair and had to lighten it first bc I wanted bright color and not just a tint of color, and I did use the Arctic Fox bleach kit which I will review next.

To get this gorgeous candy apple red color I mixed the colors Poison and Wrath. First off the first thing that I noticed that was different from regular box dye that I used to use all the time is that the Arctic Fox hair dye does not have harsh chemical fumes.

I used to hate when my eyes would burn from the strong fumes from the box dye. The Arctic Fox hair dye doesn’t smell like chemicals at all, instead has a grape candy smell to it which smells so good and leaves your hair smelling good for days after.

This dye was very easy to apply and is very very pigmented. It will stain so be careful with getting it on your skin or clothes. I put some conditioner around my hairline and it didn’t stain my skin whatsoever.

Also it rinsed out very easily and left my hair feeling so so soft even though I had bleached it the night before. With box dye my hair used to feel so dry and look so dull after rinsing the color out.

But with Arctic Fox my hair looked so shiny and felt so smooth and soft, and the color is absolutely stunning. This is def going to be my go to hair dye for a long time bc it was such an enjoyable experience and the results are better than I imagined.

Plus it didn’t stain my tub, it did leave it a little slippery bc of all the conditioning agents but otherwise so so good.

I must say, this is amazing! I dye my hair at home a lot, exclusively really. I always do it myself and it is usual a bit of a pain but the things we do for beauty, right? So were my thoughts as I dyed it: It doesn’t smell overwhelmingly terrible, doesn’t drip and run down my hair as I apply it, it seems like a simple process, the timing is standard and it appears to be achieving good coverage in the time allotted and for the amount of dye I have, it rinses out easier than a lot of other dyes I’ve used over the years, it doesn’t leave my hair feeling brittle and ruined and the shade is gorgeous! I have a lot of hair so wasn’t able to dye it all with the one box, but I did the bottom half of my hair and it looks so pretty and natural that I can’t wait to go out and buy another box to do the top half to match.

The lighter hair pic is before and the one with more depth to the blonde is after. I have received a ridiculous amount of compliments on it since I dyed it yesterday (!!!) and I just wish this had always been an available hair dye option.

I received Schwarzkopf Keratin Color in 8. 0 Medium Blonde from Influenster in return for my honest review. I have used boxed colors in the past but for the past 5 years I have been mixing my own hair color using products from Sally’s.

My hair was in need of color, so this trial came at a good time. I have never used a color that had a pretreatment for your ends. It was easy to use but I didn’t see that it made any difference honestly.

I liked the texture of the color itself being a cream instead of liquid like some colors. It had an odor but not strong like many blonde colors. It took a bit to wash it out. I found it odd that I had to towel dry my hair and then put on the conditioner, then wait 3 minutes to wash it out.

Overall the color came out nicely but still a little brassy despite the brassy correction conditioner. It did leave my hair a little frizzy and the ends aren’t as nice as usual. For a box color it is good though.

This is one of my favorite brands! It is heavy duty so be prepared bc it will stain but heck it covers my grey which is resistant. I tried another one and it highlighted my grey to an electric blue but that was actually cool lol.

This time I went back to this and all grays covered but you still see that blue hint which I like! Pro tip: you really do need to apply Vaseline on your skin and ears! It will not easily wash off like you can with other hair dyes! I’m very happy with this and definitely recommend it! Oh and it is like red dyes in the matter that you will be rinsing for forever lol so be prepared! This comes with a pre treatment, color mixers, conditioner, gloves, and directions.

Price was a bit over 10 bucks I think and definitely affordable. I posted my grey pic so you can see before and after! Shake things up a bit, why not!.

I used to use a different brand, which became more difficult to find in my local pharmacy so after reading mostly positive reviews, I decided to try Revlon ColorSilk. I’ve used it several times, light brown, medium brown and last night- light ash brown.

It’s mostly to add some depth to my already brunette/light brown hair and cover some grays. I wash my hair every day (not good, I know), so the color does gradually fade in most likely less time than for most people, but I can still get away with coloring once a month or so.

The color is easy to mix (pour color into application bottle), there’s NO smell at all (during or after coloring), it doesn’t seem to leave color behind in the shower, it lasts as long as (if not longer than) other similar brands and is ridiculously inexpensive, which is why I was hesitant at first.

Also, unlike with other colors I’ve used where sometimes the color ends up a few shades darker than what was intended, I’ve never had the color end up darker than what I wanted. Last night I even left the color on a little longer for the stubborn grays but the color came out beautiful- not like the muddy dark brown or black that can sometimes happen if you leave it on too long.

Biggest plus? the conditioner is beyond awesome!!!!! Just a tiny bit will do (I have shoulder length hair) so I save the packet so I can get a couple of uses out of it. If they sold the conditioner separately, I’d definitely buy it!!! (Please, Revlon!) It leaves hair super soft without being greasy or leaving the hair feeling coated.

While I can’t say I’ve used the product for 20+ years like some others, I can say it’s been a home run every time I’ve used it.

I have been using different brands of hair colors over the past year, but I always come back to Herbatint. It leaves the hair feeling soft and shiny. I usually use the dark blonde, but this time I decided to use the Brown.

My hair seems to get lighter at the roots than the ends. Since I have colored hair, I just used the roots application. After 30 minutes, I combed it down through the ends. It is very easy to apply, and because it is a gel, it doesn’t get all over everything.

The brown is a little darker than I am used to, but it is a rich-looking brown. I also have some left over that I can use when I do my roots again. From past experience with this brand, the color lasts over a month and it gradually fades.

I am definitely staying with Herbatint!.

I have these in a few shades and usually always end up getting another shade when I feel like greeting myself. Although I haven’t used this colour particularly because I haven’t gone anywhere to wear it because of Lockdown, the colour is gorgeous and the texture is the same as the others so I already know that I adore it as much as the other colours I have.

These are super easy to use and very versatile. They can be used in a super glam intricate eye look or something easy to throw on over one or two shadows to give a smokey, grungy, sexy look that looks like you’ve only put it a little effort (something I love to go for).

These can be built up to be very opaque or used lightly for more of an eyeshadow topper. In short, they are worth the price, they are gorgeous and I always feel very glamorous when I wear one.

someone else mentioned this and I wanted to let people know THEY ARE RIGHT this color On the List is a DUPE for cupcake pink from Special Effects (RIP) I’m not sure on staying power as I just used it but the color match is perfect!! This is such a hard shade to get in a pink and I’m so happy to have an alternative! I only wish this color came in a bigger bottle as I have 2/3rds of my hair pink and I used almost a whole tube for it (I have thin should length hair).

Still PLEASE NEVER GET RID OF THIS COLOR PLEASE.

I was so excited to try IGK’s Permanent Color Kit because they are a cruelty free brand and the product is clean and vegan. My normal hair color is dark brown and I tried the color Back to Brown (5N).

To be honest, I had gotten kind of lazy with covering my grays (which somehow seemed to multiply rapidly during the pandemic), so I was in dire need of coloring my hair. The first thing I noticed was that my kit didn’t include gloves, which must’ve been a mistake since the instructions specifically say to put on gloves before applying the color.

Since I didn’t want to have my hands stained dark brown, I ended up having to ruin a pair of rubber kitchen gloves, which ended up being pretty bulky and cumbersome during the process. The kit also didn’t include an applicator brush of any kind, but thankfully I happened to have a spare applicator brush from an old dpHUE hair color kit because there’s no way I could work the color through my hair with just the bulky rubber kitchen gloves.

My grays are pretty stubborn so I left the color on for over an hour (the instructions say 35 mins but 45 mins for stubborn grays). Aside from the color, the kit included packets of Protect Color Block Barrier Gel, Erase Stain Removing Cleanser, and Post-Color Treatment Mask, which were nice touches.

However, the instructions say to cleanse with your favorite IGK shampoo before applying the Treatment Mask, so I was confused why they didn’t include a sample packet of shampoo as well. I didn’t have IGK shampoo on hand at home so I used a different brand of shampoo for color-treated hair instead.

Unfortunately, the end result was pretty disappointing. Despite letting the color process for over an hour, the grey coverage was awful. I don’t know if having to use bulky rubber kitchen gloves was to blame, but I could still see plenty of grays peeking through immediately after I completed the process, which you can see in the before and after pics.

The missing gloves, lack of applicator brush and shampoo packet are inconvenient but nothing I can’t work through. However, when I don’t even have complete grey coverage afterwards, there’s no point even using this product.

There are other cruelty-free brands out there with better results so I wouldn’t recommend this product.

I’m thinking when I selected this color as one I would like to try I was thinking about my hair being prelightened before I colored it. My hair was not prelightened really although it was a lighter shade than my natural color bc I use Sun Bum products to naturally lighten my hair with UV light from the sun.

Needless to say my hair did come out with a reddish/orangey looking shade and not so much blonde or even almost blonde but that’s to b expected with darker shades of hair color! It specifically says not recommended for dark brown or black hair colors! No matter the color that I got wasn’t blondish but it was not an ugly color at all quite the contrary actually! There was NO strong ammonia smells the only odors were pleasant! The usual and expected shedding and obvious to the touch, right after use damage, was not even a part of this home hair coloring kit! Yeah no ammonia smell and no dehydrated brittle feeling hair.

from a box dye!! That’s super rare in my experience! My hair did feel a bit dry at first after washing the color out but after 1 application of their conditioner that’s included in the kit, and all signs of any super dryness just disappeared! Despite not being the shade on the box exactly it came out a not unpleasant color and ALL MY GREYS WERE G O N E!!!! Not a grey in sight since I used the coloring kit and it’s been 3 weeks tomorrow.

I would recommend this coloring kit for anybody who just has to dye their hair right now at home using a box kit because I think the instructions are so easy to follow and the product works well without extreme damage to ur hair like most of the box dye kits that are available.

This dye kit is great because it comes with everything you need. I love how the box unfolds to show the instructions easily and there’s a QR code you can scan to see tutorials. It was super easy to understand how to use the items in the box and apply the dye.

I would suggest after you mix the color and activator in the bottle, open it to release some pressure from shaking it up. because while I was applying it, the top popped off and there was hairdye all over my back.

Luckily it cleaned off easily. and I was able to save most of the dye and get it onto my hair, because there didn’t seem to be as much product as some dye kits I’ve used. It was barely just enough product to cover all my hair and my hair isn’t that long, armpit length, and my hair is super fine, so someone with very thick or long hair may need 2 boxes to cover all their hair.

The dye smells pleasant and did not leave stains on my skin at all, which I very much appreciate. The liquid they have in the package to remove any excess dye or staining is very small and I wish there was more in that packet, because it worked really well and I could have used a bit more of it, but I had some from a previous kit I used to clean up the rest that had spilled on my neck when the top came off.

The conditioner it comes with worked well, but once again there was not enough of it, could have used more. Once I dried my hair I was not super happy with the results. My hair was previously dyed a fairly bright red color, and I didn’t feel like this particular color was dark enough to color over all of it.

and you could definitely still see where my roots had grown out. That part I am not a fan of. (Photo included). I would definitely use this product again, but I would choose a different color.

IšverstiShow in original languageIt has been a long time since I had done a cap highlight on myself but I was open to switching up my hair color and trying out Revlon’s Color Effects Frost Glow. I used the smaller hook end of the tool because I wanted a subtle highlight.

It took a few tries before I got the method down for pulling the hair through the cap. I think it is really important to keep the tool flat to your head with the hook pointed up, to get the best results without pulling at your hair.

Because I didn’t want a dramatic change, I planned to only pulled hair through the circled holes and only in the front and crown portions of the cap. I found it much too difficult to pull hair from any farther back on my head, so there was no chance I was going to be able to accomplish an all-over highlight, even if I wanted to.

I would recommend having someone help you pull hair through the cap if you are going for a full head of highlights and definitely if you are new to cap highlights. The mixing and coloring process was super easy.

The mixture did not smell harsh which was definitely appreciated. I would prefer a better fitting pair of gloves to wear. As you apply the mixture and make sure each strand is saturated, the gloves start to slide off and get in the way.

I intended to check my hair after 10 minutes but my timer never went off, so it was 15 minutes before I checked. When I checked it, I panicked because it looked very blonde and brassy compared to my chocolate cherry brown hair color.

After rinsing it off and shampooing and conditioning with the included toning shampoo and conditioner, I felt a little bit better about the color. It still looked very light (mostly in front) when I started to dry my hair with my Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer.

After styling, other than looking a little more 2000’s chunky highlight at the front of my face than I would have liked, I am very happy with the look! I was actually pleasantly surprised that the color chart on the box was accurate! It would be nice to get a bigger packet of the toning conditioner and shampoo.

I have shoulder-length fine hair and used the whole packet. Even putting two of each packet would be beneficial especially to those with long or thick hair. I could possibly see myself using this kit in the future, though I would probably force my husband to help pull hair through the cap.

From hook to styling, the whole process took me about 3 1/2 hours. It gets a little chaotic trying to hold a mirror and angle yourself just right to reach all of the holes on the cap. If you’re looking to save yourself a hundred (or more) dollars and you have the time and patience, I would definitely recommend this Revlon Color Effects kit!.

IšverstiShow in original languageSo let me preface this review by saying that I have A LOT of experience with using box dyes. I started dying my hair in 6th grade and have probably used every product under the sun since.

For the last 6 years or so I have been platinum blonde and both going to the salon and bleaching my roots at home with bleach and developer and toners so I also have a lot of experience bleaching my hair.

I am naturally a level 7 but my hair can be kind of stubborn so I was expecting this to not lift quite as much as I needed to but figured I could always fix it with a second round. But lately I have been using 20 volume developer and this I believe uses 30 so I probably should have factored that in.

I left the mixture on for the full 60 minutes but I feel like I could have taken it out sooner because it ended being almost too light and a little more damaged than I would have liked. I also had a hard time getting the bleach powder into the opening of the developer bottle and ended up spilling some so I decided to mix it in a bowl and use a brush instead since that’s what I’m used to.

I also had a hard time with the consistency being so liquid since for roots application you really want to be as precise as possible and it was also much harder to see where I had applied it than it is with traditional bleach.

All of this aside, if I had never bleached my hair before I think this would have been an awesome find. I normally use olaplex in my bleach and I honestly can’t tell if the bond protection in this product works because I had never used a version that didn’t have it to compare.

I did also appreciate that this came with toning shampoo as well as conditioner which is rare for box dyes.

IšverstiShow in original languageSo this color was exactly what I would pick if I was going to a salon. I have pretty dark hair on top and bleached hair about 1/2 down. So I was a bit nervous to try it but I figured since I work from home I could always fix it if it went horribly wrong.

I just preface this review with the fact that I have a lot of hair. It is thick and I’ve always been told that I have about 3-4 times the amount than most do. When in a ponytail it is about 1. 25″ in diameter.

So keep that in mind when I say that the cap needs a ton of planning and patience. I didnt have anyone to help me do it so I sectioned my hair into four sections. I wanted to make sure I didn’t only get highlights on the top and sides.

I started this early and let me tell you the cap is what took the longest. I have used regular hair bleach and foils so I was prepared to spend a lot of time pulling out my hair. once I got it all done an hour and 20 mins later I mixed up the product and was surprised how pleasant it smelled.

So for me I started with the front and front sides because I knew that would stay the longest and that’s where I wanted my hair to be lighter. Then I did the top middle and sides and finished with the back.

I clipped my hair with my plastic clips to keep my hair out of my face. I had a little left over so I decided to pull out a couple extra pieces and coated those right away. I would definitely recommend not taking it off early.

I think it needs the full processing time to get the color closest to the box. What I liked about the cap was that I didn’t have to foil my hair to protect the other hair from getting bleached. what I didn’t like was not truly knowing how it would come out.

When it was time to rinse. I carefully pulled the cap off. I was so scared my hair would tear out, but it was pretty easy to take off. So much easier than it was to put it on. lol. I did not use the enclosed shampoo because I have my own violet shampoo and blue shampoo.

So I used that and my blue hair mask to condition it. I was shocked how my hair felt though. it was soft and not dry like I thought it might be. Over I love the color and am shocked at how good it came out.

I think had I had help to do the cap it would have been faster. But for the price and results I am hooked. Will definitely be buying another box or two to keep up my highlights during the summer. I’m loving my hair and the color looks so good on my bleached hair.

I have been using Herbatint for about 10 years, did try different colors combinations: red, brown, blond. —never disappointed with the condition of my hair after coloring. Then i decided to try the Naturigin brand.

First i google it—brand from Denmark. I sought why not. Color—light Ash blond is as pictured—true Light Ash blond, but my hair felt so dry—like a hay. I tried differend moisturizer, but damage has been done.

I have fine hair and i believe whatever was in this color was too strong for my hair type—it burned and got a lot of breakage. it’s never happened to me after using the Herbatint. I do not think I will try this brand again.

I love splat just because Im so impulsive and I love fashion colors, so whenever I get my hair back to a pale blonde I go for another color. Ive use them all, I liked the 30 day wash but for me it just came out uneven which isnt a big issue.

I dyed over it and then after 6 months went to bleach the other color out (not splat) and the blue splat color came back through so make sure your hair grows out before bleaching it if youre wanting a pure blonde.

Only thing I dont like is the bleach kit with the semi permanent color, I mix the bleach and powder and its just grainy. It does bleach, it bleached my towel, but it turn my hair yellow on the test patch I did when I have level 8/9 hair so I think maybe it was expired.

But I buy the bleach kits and just use the semi permanent color. Just got pure sapphire and it looks really cool. Be warned tho, idk if its just me or you need white hair to achieve the blue sapphire look, but mine is basically teal and more on the green side.

Although it looks different in every lighting, back flash shows more blue and front flash shows green and in the mirror it looks like both haha. Still really pretty, but just know the name doesnt match the color.

It also lasts forever but in a good way and you can color over it and cover it once it washes out or you can mix colors and create your own. Super easy for inexperienced people too. As long as you know how to saturate hair and have a mirror or a mom to tell you what parts look like they havent been colored yet youre golden.

And if all else fails just get a second box!.

I first used splat bleach, which is horrible. To get it to a light enough color to dye it fun colors I had to use a couple things of the bleach, which is typical for any bleach. My issue is that using only 1 about melted my hair and left it so damaged.

I understand stand bleach damages hair, but it should not to the extent that this did. I left it in for the least amount of time. I will not use any splat products again. The hair color itself barely stayed 3 washes.

Semi-permanet should stay at least 8.
