20 Best Hair Brushes For Curly Hair (2022 Updated)

This is the best brush I’ve ever used it was only $5! I bought it on a whim wasn’t hoping for too much because it was so cheap. I got it home and brushed my hair can’t believe how the knots came out.

I can use it with dry or wet hair, it keeps my hair (thick frizzy) soft smooth, knot free for days. I literally run my hands through my hair all day just because I can’t believe the knots are gone. I actually don’t dread brushing my hair now this brush makes me want to start styling my hair again.

The best detangling brush by far!! Cheap yet great quality, my daughters hair is thick in the 4 range on a texture hair chart, no tears, no issues, not a peep out of her on hair day! The brush (with water and conditioner) glides right thru her hair.

This brush is amazing and well worth the buy. We’ve tried all the other detangling brushes that ppl rave over that are supposed to do what this one does but at a higher cost and they didnt perform as well as this brush.

So glad this brush caught my eye in Walmart! Bonus-easiest brush to clean as well! Pull the bristles and it slides out to where the back opens and you can lift the rows of bristles to get a quick great deep clean.

Not the best. It detangled my hair, but I hate how it left my curls looking, to the point where I rather finger detangle than use the brush. It’s also annoying how water get stuck inside of it. Over time I realized that the teeth on one side of the brush sank and inwards and became bent.

I accidentally dropped it in the shower and it broke. The brush feels cheap and since it’s almost $20 I will not repurchase this brush. The only good thing was that it felt amazing on the scalp.

I absolutely LOVE this brush!! I didn’t think it would work with my 3b/c hair, but it worked great! I’m used to using a wide toothed comb, so this was a big adjustment for me. It combed through my hair perfectly and I lost less hair than normal.

It’s also wayyy better than the because it detangles AND styles your curls. I highly recommend this product!!.

I love my flexy brush , I use mine in the shower 🚿. You can simply use it to detangle knots in your hair when it’s wet. Sometimes I apply conditioner in the shower , start brushing and the brush just glides through 🤩 It’s so easy to clean afterwards as well because there is no backing.

It’s pretty cool ! When I’m feeling a bit too lazy to massage my scalp on my wash day. I use the flexy brush to exfoliate ! Honestly the best brush I’ve ever used. 💕.

I have very fine, curly hair. I usually can’t brush it dry with a regular brush. I was four days out from washing and used this brush – – it went through without pain and got every single knot and mess of my hair easily.

I have been using other “curl” brushes for a minute. Some did not fit in my hands comfortably or made me feel like I was tearing my hair in some type of unhealthy way despite how much slip my products gave my coils.

I recently broke vented paddle brush that I thought was very sturdy so was ready to give up. I’ve been getting the emails about the brush and decided to give it a try. BAYYYYBEEEE! THIS IS IT FOR ME! The handle is very comfortable and didn’t slip as I let it WERK its magic.

Both sides of the brush did the job with amazing ease. Even better, my curls stayed defined and springy all day. Mind you, I used the same product on my hair with different styling tools and I NEVER got results like I got from using this curl brush.

This brush is new and I’m a pretty cynical shopper so I don’t usually trust products that just hit the market. But you guys. Listen. I have 20+ inch-long, 4C hair – long, thick, coarse hair. I’ve bought the Denman brush, the detangling brush with the five sections that bends, paddle brushes – all of them.

None of them do what this brush is doing for me. It’s super strong and sturdy so I don’t have to worry about pieces breaking in my hair, yet it doesn’t pull my hair out like the other do while I’m detangling.

AND it’s a dream with all my wigs, too – textured, curly, and wavy ones. That’s the kicker for me. Great at detangling in record time, still doesn’t pull out a bunch of hair, AND I get the kind of definition in my curls and coils that I only thought I could get at the salon.

This has saved me a ton of time. There’s no way I’m going back to any other brush.

I’ve used a number of detangling brushes in the past, but, this has been my favorite. I initially heard of the brush through a black woman Youtuber and decided to buy the brush to try it, invest in a good brush, and support Heat Free Hair because I like the company.

I’m glad that I did. I have 3C long hair It truly detangles and defines easily and quickly. It is extremely convenient to be able to do both with one brush. I’m going to be gifting this brush to my sisters.

I have a lot of fine gray curly/wavy hair (3A but 2A/2B when long &/or not washed for a couple of days as a large amt of fine strands get weighed down). I get horrible tangles on the back of my head right at the scalp from wearing hair up when I sleep.

Hardest place to detangle yourself which causes neck strain & a lot of damaged hair. I have spent hours & even days getting these out. I just received my new brush Creme of Nature Pure Honey Detangler.

Planned on brushing thru what I could before washing, but brush worked so well,, I got the whole thing out in 1/2 hr with help from a small amt of the detangler on the toughest part (on dry hair). The brush feels really nice too; I actually enjoy brushing my hair again! Also, some reviews showed pics of brush breaking but all appear to be an older design or different brush The new vertical design shown with round handle seems very sturdy.

It’s rare I’m pleasantly surprised by products these days, but this brush & the detangler, which also smells great (link below) get 5 stars!.

This company does something others rarely do, it thanks for seller feedback. Every moment we take to positively further the company or product should be positively acknowledged just as I’m sure they all did when they were just starting out.

This soapbox is really high! The brush. My hair was longer with no haircut in sight when I ordered this. I’m in a nursing facility healing and somehow randomly I got a crazy short haircut maybe the day I later received the brush.

So my my hair is like a couple of millimeters long. But I was really looking forward to the brush. So I had one of the nurses open it for me and we were both oohing and ahhing as she took it out of the box.

It’s all futuristic looking and feeling. Now for when I finally used it. It was so pretty and the bristles so cool to the touch I decided to keep it. I have put myself to sleep brushing my scalp with this.

Regardless of how short my hair is, the CNA’s washing my head STILL struggle getting it completely clean. So sometimes I take this dream in the shower. Great in the shower. Sometimes after the shower I lie in bed just running it all over my scalp until I wake up from a deep sleep like I took a bottle of booze to bed with me.

I love this thing. My scalp is dry due to lack of moisturization on my part. Otherwise I would be rubbing my head to dreamland right now. My hair is crazy thick and curly and I’m so curious to see how it does with regular length hair.

Hello!! I am 53yy and have always had thin, wavy hair. cut in an asymmetric style. Washed it everyday, blew it dry, added a little spray and went to my business. Nothing to it. Compliments several times a day.

Everyday. Then I got Breast Cancer. After my hair grew back in, I then had thick and I MEAN THICK~SPIRAL CURLS. I had no clue how to wash it, what to wash it with, do I dry it??. don’t dry it??. I couldn’t find a good hairdresser that knew how to work with curly hair here in Florida.

This is a great grill for indoors. It is easy to use, to cook on and to clean. It is compact and made sturdy. It has a griddle to use for frying eggs, pancakes, and hamburgers. The price was great also!.

I have had a very good experience buying products at walmart. com The products are of very good quality, the shipping time is less than expected. The Black Egg brush helps to easily detangle my hair.

The extra comb helps to easily clean the brush and at the same time, I use it to give my scalp an extra massage. I loved the plastic donuts that are included, since I use them to make ponytails and they don’t show or hurt my hair.

I bought this boar bristle brush on the advice of my hairdresser for my hair loss issues. I was frustrated at the amount of hair I was losing and having to pick it out of the vacuum brush and out of my food.

since I started using this brush, I find very few stray hairs compared to before. I brush until I don’t see any hair in the bristles and my hair is smoother, less frizzy and my scalp is so much less itchy.

I still use a wet brush when I shampoo, but that is it. I highly recommend.

Very quality brush. Bristles are very neat and strong yet not rough as some boar hair brushes can be. Very comfortable and gives hair shine. Handle made of sturdy wood and very smooth to touch. Also, I like the accessories.

The comb is perfect to fit in my purse and I can always use pony tail holders.

Funny story about using your brush. I’m sure there’s not a lot of people who can say they cried, when brushing their hair the first time, with this brush…. Growing up, my father always had this special brush it was a porcelain brush with whale bristle in it.

Needless to say I absolutely loved it, every morning I would steal his brush before school, he would always be so mad at me because he could never find HIS brush! Over the years he made it known I would never get his brush because it was one of a kind.

He even joked about taking it with him when he goes. haha not funny dad! Over the course of my life I have spent thousands of dollars trying to find a brush similar to my father’s brush I’ve never been able to find something that is even remotely close to it.

I have tried so many different types of detanglig products. Both detanglig spray and detanglig brushes that didn’t work at all. That’s why I absolutely love this product because it actually works. I love that it isn’t pulling or breaking and damaging my hair.

It is really gentle on my scalp. Also you can use this product on both wet or dry hair. The lightweight ergonomic handle makes it so much easier to hold on to. I love that the brush actually stands upright which is a total first for me.

I really like that it also comes with a slide-in case that protects bristles and makes it easy to take take with you as well. DON’T USE WITH BLOW DRYER AND DON’T PUT IT IN BOILING WATER. The Detangler is so amazing and easy to use.

I am not exaggerating when I say this brush is the best brush I have ever used for my daughter’s hair. She’s 4 and has her hair down to the middle of her back. The texture of her hair is like mine, fine, but she has a lot of it.

She always wakes up with a proverbial rat’s nest (as my mother referred to masses of tangles) smack dab in the middle of the back of her head. I used to dread brushing her hair in the mornings before school.

Now, with this Frida Baby Detangling brush, i have no worries. With a brush that had the same detangling claims as this one, I would use detangling spray but it would take at least 5 minutes to work my way through her hair, oftentimes longer.

I still use the detangling spray but only where it’s needed now, and start in with the Frida Baby brush and it takes 2 minutes tops to get her hair smoothed out. I honestly don’t know what the secret is with this magical brush.

The bristles are spaced out a bit and are thin and flexible. It comes with a handy cover to keep the bristles’ shape. The only improvement I could see with this magic wand is maybe a bit of grippy coating on the handle which is still quite comfortable to hold as is.

Not that I expect it to any time soon but I will definitely be buying another one of these when this one shows signs of wearing out. I HIGHLY recommend this brush for the tender-headed lil one in your life.

We wanted to give this brush a try since it says thick or curly hair my daughter is five and has very long hair never cut before. We started using after showers and it worked amazing it was easier to brush than any of her brushes and she didn’t fuss so thats a plus for us.

We then tried it when her hair dried from a shower and it was a bit harsh on her hair I started at the bottom working my way to the top and I felt the tugging and pulling then I heard something fall it was a piece of the comb a pick broke.

I think this brush is great but maybee not for her hair length if it was shorter hair it be amazing but there is many hair types out there you must try for your self or childs hair. I think for hair to thin it wouldn’t be that great as the bristles of the comb hurt a tad bit I tried on the top of my head and bothered me a bit.

I think the hair on the comb is quite normal we all loose hair daily and its going to wind up on our brush daily, I did notice some smaller hairs on the floor when I brushed her but her hair is a bit damaged on the ends so that may be the reason for that.

Besides those things the brush seems its quite good great quality I do love the ease to clean it after every use and the brush cover keeps it clean and look organized easier to carry along. I do understand this brand is focused on younger users but like I mentioned above we were curious about this brush and love trying new brands and see what works on my daughters hair she has had long hair since she was born.

This brush is really good for detangling all hair types. One thing I do people mistake this brush for is a defining brush and it does not do that. But, it does detangle well. The brush came with a little piece that is supposed to stop the bristles from spreading a certain distance (I think it’s so your curls can look a certain way when you’re done brushing), but I didn’t know how to put it in.

I do recommend getting it for hair detangling, best brush on the market.

I already posted a video on my first use of the brush. It changed my wash day! I used to hate the detangling process because it took soooo long. It is not a long process. The brush is sturdy and goes right through the tangles.

I would describe my hair texture as a 3C-4A/4B. Seems better for thicker strands. Not great on my 3A child’s hair.

As soon as I started using this brush I knew it was perfect for my kinky curls. It makes detangling so much easier! Before I got this I loved the wet brush! But for curls I would say this is top tier!

I really like this brush. We just bought this brush for our daughter as her old one brush (different brand) is getting worn out is starting to be hard to brush with. That old one is now our back up when we can’t find this one we just got.

I like that there is none of those ball things on the end of the bristles on this brush that other brushes usually have. Her old brush had those. Those ball things are annoying as only some of them fall off then your brush starts snagging breaking your hair even if you are being gentle as can be.

I love that this brush is very gentle on your hair when brushing. I let my 6yr old daughter learn to brush her hair on her own with it as I don’t have to worry about her snagging her hair with the brush crying to get the brush out as it gets tangles out super easily.

Her hair normally gets tangles in it very easily so I brush it at least twice a day.

I am literally without words because I am eating mine after seeing an advertisement for this hair brush on FB. I thought, “yeah right. Let the hairbrush meet my kid. ” She has Autism and Epilepsy. So brushing her hair has always been a long process because of the brushing and crying.

I needed to purchase a better round brush which would be better and healthier for my hair. My hair is thick and curly and this brush did a fantastic job during my blowdrying. (Straight). The only downside is the handle needed to be slightly thicker for a better and comfortable grip, as my hand got tired every so often whilst holding the brush.

I got the name of this brush from my hair dresser. Loved the way my hair shined after he blowed dried it but could not find it on any store or beauty supply. Found it on e bay for an excellent price even after paying shipping.

I purchased this brush online because I needed a new one and I tend to like this style of brush. I didn’t notice anything spectacular about it but it was easy to brush through my wet hair- there was no pulling.

I liked the length of the handle but I probably would not recommend it.

It went right through my hair while it was wet. It detangled quickly, only 2 passes through each section. The best part is there was very little hair in the brush when I was done so I’m confident it wasn’t pulling my hair out.

I have been using it for more than two months may be, and It is very good quality. It doesn’t feel harsh on the scalp. I want to mention that I am only using the normal hair brush. I didn’t use the other two yet(I am assuming those are for more curly hairs).

SO far it is doing a pretty good job.

I then decided to look for a brush with boar bristles and bristles to detangle. After reading lots of reviews, I ended up getting myself the Bsisme paddle brush with boar bristles. I was so excited that it came with a brush cleaner since I love to clean my hair brush as well.

Since getting this brush, I’ve increased the times I brush my hair and I’ve raves about this hairbrush to anyone who would listen. I love the design in the back and the size of the brush, considering that my hair is long.

Been using these about 2 years now and Ill never buy anything else. Just purchased another 2 to put all around garden and outside back door its amazing to watch them get attracted to the smell once in they never get out.

I bought the brush because of the good description. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed. Positive: – the brush is good in the hand. – The brush pulls dog hair well out of the hair thanks to the rubber pad (have 4 Hundeli.

) – when wet, the brush can arrange the hair very well and the long bristles are enough even for my thick, long North African hair! Negatives: – The brush pulls strongly and is painful. – The bristles are exrtrem Hard and not flexible (the solid rubber pad gives only a little).

– I wear a vintage cut for vintage curls, meaning my hair is not layered. The brush struggles at the tips. It gets through the top pretty well, the bottom I usually have to help with my fingers. – Never in my life have I had statically charged hair! I use a Schwerses hair oil for Indian hair.

nevertheless, this brush creates it after a brush stroke on dry hair that the hair flies around everywhere. Even “unloaded” on the heater / water tap of the brush brings nothing! Immediately it charges widee.

(Hairspray also does not help. ) My hair is always air-dried and kept supple with oil. The clothes I wear (even without clothes and without carpet. ) does not change anything. This one point brings me to such a negative rating.

I really like this brush simply because it helps all of my hair to curl the same. Sometimes I have half wavy half curly hair, and this brush helps me to make it all look uniform. My hair is still pretty frizzy after using it, but that’s probably more the products I use and the fact that my hair is ALWAYS frizzy.

Also I’ve only used the brush a handful of times and one of the bristles is already bent. I don’t know how it happened, but for me the purchase was still worth it simply for all my hair to curl the same.

I have 3a-3bish hair that is medium thickness and length. I plan to grow my hair out longer so I decided to go with the 9 row instead of the 7 row, plus if I need to I can always remove some rows. I’ve only ever used the brush right after the shower with my hair wet.

I don’t recommend this to be a detangling brush, I personally detangle my hair in the shower with a comb before using this brush. It sometimes pulls at the very ends of my hair but that could be because I need a trim and have some dead ends that tangle easily.

I was hesitant to purchase this brush since there was no reviews at the time, but this brush is great! I have a mixture of tight curls and coils. I recently used this brush to assist with my twist-out prep during wash day.

This brush GLIDED through my hair and I had minimal hair loss (think like 10-15 strands or so) when usually I have clumps in brushes from fighting with my tangles. No sore areas today and this brush went into my holy grail drawer instead of the “product fail” bin under the sink.
