20 Best Gym Backpack With Shoe Compartment (2023 Updated)

I use this for airline travel and wanted something I could backpack carry and fit in the overheads to avoid checking bags. It serves that purpose fine. I have the same complaint many others do on the size and ease (lack thereof) of getting my size 13 shoes in and out of the shoe storage opening.

That could be made better. It is well built of what appears to be medium durability materials. It won’t be as durable as old canvas military bags or higher quality luggage, but hopefully lasts a few years at least.

It is less expensive than the name brand versions at likely similar quality, so I appreciate that value. I’m happy with the purchase thus far.

The product is comfortable and has a large interior. It has plenty of pockets and even a vent for the shoes. I have always had problems with the straps on duffel bag backpack combos, but this bag is like designed ergonomically to the back.

At least it feels that way to me. Pros:- It is a big bag with plenty of space compared to other duffel backpack hybrids I have used- The straps are super comfortable- Plenty of pockets- Light weight and strong- If there is any faulty issues, then they give you a replacement with their warranty.

My ventilation vent for the shoes fell off and I get a new one. Other than that, the bag is a power house of strength so far. Cons:- A bit too much free space outside the bag. It can use more pockets or other accessories on the bottom or other side with no pockets on it.

This 3-way duffel is made with high-quality materials. Some compartments are wet/moisture specific. Zippers are good. It capacity is also very good and it is almost all of it in the big compartment. There’s one thing though that you can only notice if you look to the pics very closely.

The straps to use as a backpack reside in one of the top compartments and in order to attach those and use in such way this compartment has to be open; there’s only one small piece of velcro holding it closed, but barely.

If only the strap hook had dodged the zipper, like other models. Oh yeah, one last small thing: the shoe compartment does not open wide enough for a quick in-&-out access, thus putting the shoes in or out of it is a bit complicated, it gotta be one at the time.

very spacious with several compartments inside that can hold a bunch of items. im 6’1” and this is a comfortable fit and well sized backpack for my build. the side compartments on the outside are a nice feature since i usually carry a waterbottle and a blender bottle for workouts.

the only downside is that i wear a size 15 shoe which doesnt fit in the shoe compartment at the bottom, so i have to store them in the backpack which eats up some space, but otherwise a great value for the price.

I use this for the gym and it’s pretty good. I like that it’s waterproof, has a compartment for shoes, and fits all my clothes and toiletries. Just wish it had a little more structure as it’s completely floppy.

The side mesh pocket for a water bottle doesn’t fit large ones, only 16 oz. poland spring size. Even then, because the bag is so floppy, if it sits on the floor the water bottle can fall out. Also wish it had more compartments with deeper pockets to store things.

The two small compartments inside only fit small things like jewelry or a few workout headbands.

So although I do like the bag, I do have concerns of durability. I bought this particular style bc I wanted one that had a spot for my shoes. This did have that. It has a few pockets inside for my gear – however it’s hard to see your items in there bc the two main compartments are just a large divider.

It’s one of those bags you could wad up and throw in a suitcase – I would prefer a more sturdier version – but that is personal preference.

Upon review, it looked like an awesome backpack. I usually go to the gym before work and needed a separate space for my notebook/table along with other pouches and pockets for organizing my accessories (charging cables, keys, and sunglasses) what got me sold was the separate toiletries kit that comes included with it.

I figured during my break from my gym days I can bring my DSLR with me and take some photos of the beach after work. Pros: pockets! Lots of them and a special pouch for your laptop/tablet. A detachable accessory pouch for toiletries or cables.

Quick stash fabric pocket to put my sunglasses and earbuds in. Shoe compartment accommodates my size 9. 5 underarmour crosstrainers AND Flip-Flops (Slippers where I’m from) and enough room for a set of workout clothes, small towel, and a dirty laundry bag.

On my rest days I can take out the shoes and slippers and put other items like my camera. Cons: unfortunately after less than a week use. There was a small tear forming on the top middle of the pack where the handle is located.

It doesn’t expose the pack contents but it is a noticeable eyesore. Hope it doesn’t get worse as I continue to use it. If Targus releases an updated version I hope they will address the issue.

I purchased this for my son to carry his laptop to college. We were both amazed at the integrated features. It is clearly useful protecting the laptop with suitable padding. But the best features are its versatility to pack his gym clothes and a clean up shower bag built in.

He regularly stops at the gym after school, so everything he needs is packed with him in the morning before he leaves home. I hadn’t thought about this feature when looking for a laptop backpack, but after seeing this combination, it was perfect.

Bought this backpack with the expectation that it easily replace a cheaper “no name” backpack I have had for the last 4 years. Hence I was severely disappointed when the strap cover started fraying at the seams after 3 weeks.

Overall the design and versatility of the product is great but durability and materials need significant improvement.

I use the product when I have training sessions as a necessary thing to put your training sruff in. And also in competitions. I’d recommend it to all people because it’s really comfortable and big, so it can fit a lot.

We had to order this with our club soccer kit. Compared to other kits, this soccer bag hasn’t lasted the season and they expect us to use it next year. Your required to buy in the summer but not use until winter at the older age group.

Then, they won’t fix defects because it’s past 60 days of purchase. Be prepared to see the stitching fall apart in non-stress areas. And, customer service won’t help.

The bag is excellent quality! I must say, I don’t care for where the ball goes (I prefer it to stay on the outside of the bag) as it allows the inside of the bag to get wet and too crowded, not leaving enough room for our spare shin guards and spare cleats.

The bag holds up really well to a lot of wear and tear, wet grass, etc! Overall, my son is really enjoying it and it looks really nice!.

I ordered the back pack, pants and jacket all at the same time, as a birthday gift for my granddaughter, so she would be like the rest of her team. Unfortunately only the back pack and pants were delivered.

I am still waiting for the jacket to show up with no word as to when I can expect it.

I gave this backpack duffel bag to my son a few years ago when he was in college. He loves it. Lightweight. Place for laptop. Backpack straps can be hidden when using as duffel. Separate place for shoes.

I don’t usually both with reviews, but this little bag deserves some recognition. I researched a LOT of laptop bags, ready to spend a couple hundred bucks for one that could be configured as a backpack or messenger bag, that could carry a couple laptops and had some style to it.

This fit all the criteria, and was way cheaper than any of the others I looked at. I thought, well, if it doesn’t work out, I haven’t spent that much. Well, it’s been perfect for me. It fits 2 15. 5″ laptops plus a smaller Chromebook, plus whatever I can stuff in the main compartment.

It has handles everywhere, so it’s literally grab-and-go. The main compartment unzips 3 sides, so you can access it however you want, There are a couple of full-size sleeve style compartments for isolating things like papers, and a handy little compartment in the front.

I recommend it for commutes. If there was anything to improve, I’d like to see a leather version, maybe color-coded zipper tails, maybe expandability. But as-is, this is a a little gem of a bag. Great job, Solo designers!.

Expected a duffel to be bigger and sturdier. It’s more like a backpack with straps, with less compartments and utility. Guess the bottom is the duffel component to cover clothes and shoes, but it doesn’t look sturdy.

I think using this duffel component would just being in the way and annoying hitting in the back legs. Plan to return to laptop backpack. The bottom pouch is utilizable for light jackets, like my waterproof rafting jacket.

I love the gym bag, dirty clothes and shoes zip up in the bottom compartment. The seat belt cover is so comfortable against me when I wear my gym clothes in the car. My seat belt normally chafes. I would love to buy more products.

Bought as pack to use during bike rides. Looks good, right size for my need, performs well so far. Glad it does not have zipper because on a pack if the zipper fails, that’s it. Like the waterproof interior pouch.

I am the type of person that knows what I want before I see it. Then I will go hunting for something that is exactly what I want. It was so difficult for me to find this backpack. I looked on and off for probably a year and a half.

I have never seen anything like this but it is exactly what I was looking for. Being a female who is a professional and also wants to bring a change of clothes into the city AND has to lug multiple laptops back and forth is difficult.

A backpack with enough space is typically very non feminine. A more feminine backpack is always too small to fit more than 1 laptop (do people not think that women work in tech too!?). From a professional standpoint, the sidebag style is more appealing when needed.

On top of this, i like to go straight to the gym after work, so swap between heels and sneakers. And I like minimal bags on my 2 hour trip into work. Enter the high sierra endevour. Enough space to fit two laptops, gym clothes, water bottle, MY LUNCH, with a little extra space.

Sidebag option available. Rose gold zippers for the feminine touch. Tons of other bags I saw that did not meet my functionality standard were 2-3x the price. Thank you High Sierra.

I LOVE this backpack. The duffel section has so much room, and I can fit my laptop, charger, and gym clothes perfectly. My only complaint is that there is only one side pocket. My water bottle fits in the side pocket great, but I like to put my phone and keys into a second side pocket so I can grab them easily without having to take my backpack off.

There isn’t really a good way to do this with this backpack. Overall, a great bag.

The backpack lived up to everything it’s supposed to be! I purchased this for a friend starting a new job so she could carry her work and exercise clothes in one bag, and she absolutely loves it. I recommend to anyone who makes the time to exercise before or after their work day since it is such a versatile bag, not to mention very sleek and modern in design.

This is a perfect gym bag. Well, nothing’s perfect. It’s expensive, but you get what you pay for. It’s just the right size for day to day carrying stuff to and from home, work, and gym. It is just the right size to fit in a standard gym locker.

I am currently training for an Ironman, so many days I have two workouts scheduled. It has enough space to put a biking kit, a running kit (with shoes) and my office clothes for the day. Granted, I don’t put my swim stuff in here, as I have a separate mesh bag for that.

But I have a bunch of junk in there anyway, like paddles, floats, fins, etc. No point in carrying that stuff around. Everything about the bag is high quality — straps, zippers, etc. It also looks very cool.

And for those who know — Orange Mud has a Leadville-inspired bad-assedness factor not found in other mere gym bags.

This is the best bag ever. It’s durable. It’s spacious with tons of room. It’s got compartments to keep things separated. It’s not some flimsy, light weight duffel bag. This bag is over and above the best of any other bag I’ve ever used.

Very strong material and durable zipper. This bag is built to last and holds a ton! Works great for a travel bag or gym bag. Removable inner bag makes a great drop bag for races. I do think I’d prefer having the shoe compartment sealed all the way around though I understand why it is not that way and knew it wouldn’t be before purchasing.

I’m not sure if it would look as sleek so maybe not a good idea, but some sort of an extra sleeve on the outside would be nice for holding a water bottle or blender bottle. Still, those are not complaints; just ideas! I don’t think there is another bag I’d prefer to it.

Great bag , fits 2 Gis in and food, storage for my sliders and other compartments for other stuff. Very light and great to carry , the easiness of the straps pull out from underneath and clip on making it into a backpack.

If your doing competitions or a lot of traveling , I would definitely recommend this product.

it’s great quality but not having a zip on the side pocket where i would stash my car keys . small change and gym cards is a definite minus point as velcro can never be trusted for long.

I love this bag. It is the perfect size for gym clothes, clean undergarments, shower supplies, hair dryer, and makeup. I don’t use the compartment for shoes, but I do use the other end compartment for my shower flip flops.

The material of the bag is excellent–water repellent, sleek, and durable. The bag is fully lined, as is each compartment except for the shoe compartment. The shoulder strap is easily adjustable, and pad is comfortable on the shoulder.

The zippers work well and do not jam easily. I would definitely recommend this bag, and I would buy it again. Excellent bag for a great price!.

This is a tough bag with numerous inside and outside pockets – including a mesh inside pocket for wet items. It is vented and made of extremely durable material. Double zippers and a pocket to slide in extra shoes.

I can use it as a carry-on when I fly, too. Presently, I use it for softball. It is stuffable for all your equipment and clothing. The strap for carrying is well-padded, or one can use the double carrying handle.

The design is excellent! A reasonable price tops it off.

I am a relatively tall-guy with size 12 shoes, and I love this bag. My shoes fit with plenty of room for my work clothes (pants, shirt, and sports coat), plus a gym towel and toiletries. I also carry a water bottle and a protein shaker.

It’s got enough pockets that I don’t have to worry about my towel colliding with my work clothes, or my body wash spilling on my phone. I did a lot of research to find a bag (my gym doesn’t really have private lockers).

While this one is smaller than my previous bag, the design makes it easier to fit all my stuff without having to rummage for things. Quality is okay on first glance. I hope it holds up.

Great Snow Shoe Bag! I liked mine so much and my wife did too – so I purchased a second one for her. Plenty of room for shoes and poles in bag; however, the external compression straps for poles work awesome.

Also like the zippered pockets – use them to bring my gaiters and ice spikes. Carries all the gear I need for winter hikes.

This bag is awesome! Fits my 25” tubbs snowshoes like a glove. External pockets are large enough for gators, gloves and beanie. External bungees securely hold trekking poles. Bag material and zippers seem very durable.

So far I’m really loving this bag but I just recently purchased it so time will tell. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend and plan on buying a second bag for my wife’s snowshoes.

I ordered a larger size so that it can also hold my boots, mitts and hat while I am traveling. Nothing is left behind when you leave spontaneously for a snowshoeing trip. The backpack straps are sturdy and there are external straps for poles.

This bag is almost a necessity in conditions where you need to remove your snowshoes but still need to use poles for walking. You cannot carry snowshoes while using poles. I was reluctant to order a product at such a low price considering the reviews given to other similar snowshoe bags more expensive than these which are of low quality.

This bag is of a very high quality. Don’t let the price fool you.

Seems well made, is good quality. Purchased it to use as swimming bag. to put towel, pluggers etc into. But it could do with being just a fraction larger/longer as it barely fits a largeish beach towel folded up in it.

I mean, I guess it is a called a ‘gym bag’ so it is the perfect size if used just for that. But I’ve seen many people at the pool with this same bag, so it’d be great if Nike could make a ‘swim sack’ version that’s just a wee bit bigger for us swimmers? Only because I’ve found theres not much else on the market for this purpose.

Lightweight and compact yet big enough for a water bottle, gym towell, keys, phone and all the other things I need for a trip to the gym this little tote/backpack is exactly what I was looking for. I’d been lugging my much loved but much bigger Nike tennis bag to the gym for years and it was just too big for the task.

I bought two of these backpacks for my kids (7th grader, 1st grader). I love the fact that the backpack is bigger than I thought and has multiple zip compartments. Big enough for my 7th grader to fit EVERYTHING including gym clothes and umbrella, in separate sections.

My first grader can fit EVERYTHING as well and both will still have space in the backpack. It’s very sturdy and holds up well in the rain your items will not get wet. The color is as pictured. Would definitely recommend for anyone.

Got for my son going into 3rd grade. He hasn’t used it yet, but it seems like great quality and shipping was fast. My only concern is that it’s bigger than I expected!

The compartment in the bag is great as that’s what I wanted when I was looking for a simple gym bag. However, the outer material used is too thick and stiff and the ropes used for the straps are too stiff as well.

As such, it’s difficult to close the bag and the straps don’t like to stay on my shoulders, unless the bag is heavily loaded. The compartment could also be in a different colour for easy differentiation.

It is the backpack which I looking for cause it able put two shoes which I use for training in my workout I use to put my cycling shoes and my run shoes on top it I able hold my wet clothes after my workout in the other compartment.

Great for swimming and all other sports . The separate compartments keep wet gear away from dry with no issues.

This bag is perfect. It has side pockets for toiletries, nice front pocket for shoes or wet gear, two kinds of straps. All the zippers are double pull and it is big enough for change of clothes, shoes and a regular size towel.

I hated my smaller bag, once all my stuff was in it, the bag was full and hard to find things without pulling everything out. Also the price was great, about half what most other bags this size were going for.

Lots of room for training equipment and for a day to day backpack. Sturdy, not over the top with pockets and love the external mesh bag, extremely handy and highly recommended if you want an all round backpack.

I love this gym bag for so many reasons! I know it’s meant for yoga but I plan to use it as an overnight bag for travel. It has a ton of pockets and an area for shoes underneath. I was worried about the bungie cord-type handles but it also comes with a regular shoulder strap.
