Grow lights are an artificial light source that is used to stimulate plant growth. They are often used in greenhouse and hydroponic applications, where natural sunlight is not available. Grow lights come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, and can be used to grow a wide variety of plants.
Grow lights can be a great way to save money on your electricity bill, as they use less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs. They also last longer, so you won’t have to replace them as often. Additionally, grow lights can help you grow plants that wouldn’t do well in your natural environment, such as tropical plants.
If you’re thinking about purchasing grow lights, it’s important to do your research to find the best option for your needs. There are a lot of different grow lights on the market, and not all of them are created equal.
You’ll want to consider the type of plants you want to grow, the size of your grow space, and your budget when choosing grow lights.
20 Best Grow Light For The Money
1. GE Lighting 93101233 LED Grow Light, PAR38, Red Reproductive Spectrum
GE Lighting GE Grow light LED with the advanced red light spectrum for flowers and fruit is designed to fit your plant’s growth stage. GE’s grow light uses an advanced red light spectrum that allows plant pigments to optimize their light-harvesting and inspired by best practises used by professional growers.
It’s designed for mature plants at the fruiting or flowering growth stage. Compared to typical purple grow lights, the light features high PPF or photosynthetic photon flux to provide more light for photosynthesis and growth.
The white light appears more natural to the human eye, so you can appreciate your plant’s beauty and spot pests or discolorations to help keep your plants healthy. Use the advanced red light spectrum with high light plants like tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers at the fruiting or flowering stage of growth.

I read a lot of reviews here and elsewhere before I bought this fixture. I am very happy with this light. It is indeed lightweight, but as strong as it needs to be. Long heavy duty electrical cord. Simple and easy to hang with the enclosed chains.
I love the two switches so I can light up just the inside bulbs, just the outside bulbs, or all four. T5 HO bulbs are very bright as they should be. I’ve had all four bulbs running for about eight hours and it does not get hot.
I own another T5 fixture of another brand that cost about twice as much. This fixture works just as well, and because of the two switches, I actually like this one the best. It was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition four days sooner than expected.
I bought this light fixture after looking for a similar fixture in local big box hardware stores, without success. I grow vegetable seedlings for my own garden and a demonstration garden. Setup was easy.
The T5 HO bulbs provide very bright light for seedlings and have resulted in very good and noticeably faster growth than my old T12 light. The reflector hood reflects and concentrates the light, but doesn’t allow much “overflow” light, so that a 19″ long flat doesn’t quite fit underneath it when placed cross-wise so I either use a less-than-full flat or put fewer flats underneath.
The holders that connect the unit to the chain are a little too long, and will keep me from raising the light much farther on my shelving unit as the plants underneath grow. I’ll be replacing those with shorter holders.
My only (minor) complaint about this unit is that the reflector hood is a little flimsy. Mine had a small dent in it when it arrived, not enough to affect performance so I did not send it back. I will very likely buy another next year, although probably the 4-light fixture that will accommodate fully 4 flats underneath.
Ok let’s get real about , reviews, most companies want a review within a day or so after receiving a product. I did not receive this request for a review until 2 weeks after getting the item and using it, that being said, I started with seeds and now I have healthy 2 week old plants that are getting good growth.
Now as a 1st time grower on a budget I am making mistakes but not with the lighting. My plants are stacking node after node one on top of the other, which from what I was expecting is really good, again 2 weeks in and with 4 sets of nodes produced from seed , I thinks this light works great.
I’m using a 2 foot by 2 foot grow tent for the vegetative state of my plants and it is working very well. For a small setting for seedlings or clones I thinks this is a good way to go with minimal investment.
Yes I am a real person, I did not get the light for free, nor do I work for anyone with any interest in this product.
Viparspectra V300 – 300 Watt LED Grow Light Update – Daisy chain feature has been removed from all V-series lights in Australia. Welcome to the next generation of VIPARSPECTRA “Reflector Style” V300 LED Grow Light, with full spectrum layout, reflector design and upgraded aluminum cooling heat sinks, is ideal for all kinds of indoor plants veg and flower at all growth stages.
Viparspectra V300 LED Grow Light Design: VIPARSPECTRA Spectrum has been developed by indoor growers over many years of careful experimentation and testing. With this light, you will see an increase in quality by growing bigger flowers that are dense and completely coated in resin.
VIPARSPECTRA Reflector Series are scientifically engineered to keep the balance with high PAR/Lumen and suitable Coverage. This design will not far too concentrated in the middle of the growing area which results in stunted plant growth and sunburning.
With revolutionary aluminum cooling heat sinks and high speed quite cooling fans, run 70% cooler than (HID) lights. Viparspectra V300 LED Grow Light Specifications: Replaces a 250 watt HPS/MH Use for all stages of plant growth Max Coverage at 24″ Height 2X2ft Core Coverage at 24″ Height 1.
5X1. 5ft Avg. Indoor use only, not water-proof. No extra ballast is needed. Can be controlled by Timer.
This is the best & easiest-to-use 450W grow light with on/off timer I found to use in a 48″ x 24″ grow tent for my herb garden. Specs: 90 LED lights arranged in 3 groups of 5×6 Outputs 12 different light waves for full light spectrum good for all plant stages including seedlings/growing/veg/flower/fruit/etc.
120V A/C indoor use, draws about 210W when lights are on 100% brightness Has power output plug so you can daisy chain these together, but the timer on 1 unit doesn’t control other units plugged into it.
450W equivalent output compared to bulb or halogen lights Dimable from 100% down to 0% in 1% increments 2x 120mm fans on top and plenty of vent holes on all sides. Has 2 groups of light waves (VEG & BLOOM) and each group is independently dimable but both groups are controlled with the 1 timer so both groups must turn on and off together and can’t be turned on/off independently of each other.
It would be nice if they just made each group controlled with their own timer but unfortunately that’s not the case. yet. Includes 4x nylon coated steel cables with loop on one end and spring clip on other end for hanging the light.
They are each about 16″ overall length. This is a very easy-to-setup and use grow light that works for growing just about any plant at any stage of it’s life from seed to fully-grown. I got it because I didn’t want to buy a grow light along with a timer to control it along with a separate fan to cool it along with a power supply that adjusted to wattage.
This unit can be dimmed in 1% increments from 100% down to 0% for both light groups, it has cooling fans built in, and it’s built-in timer can be set to turn on once and off once per day, every day, like an alarm on your smartphone.
The LEDs are arrainged in 3 rectangular areas as you can see from the pics. The light is wide enough to perfectly cover a 30″ x 18″ grow tent. I have since switched to a 48″ x 24″ grow tent now and it still works fine for my herb garden but for perfect coverage I think using two 300W lights might give you a little more even coverage even though I haven’t noticed any of my herbs wanting to point inward instead of growing straight up so for me this light works perfectly well.
You can daisy chain multiple Viparspectra lights together, even if the other ones are not the same model as this one or do not have timer function. Unfortunately the timer on each light does not control any functions on any other lights you daisy chain from it, the daisy chain only allows power to be run in series to save you from running individual extension cords or taking up moreoutlets if you run a bunch of these lights.
For example you can daisy chain this light along with a 300W non-timer light, and 600W non-timer light together but the timer on this only controls this light’s on/off capabilities. The other 2 lights daisy chained to this will just stay on 100% of the time unless you have a separate control for them.
If you want a bunch of daisy chained lights to all turn on and off together then every model light must be the version with timer built-in like this one. The light output of this LED light is approx equivalent to a 450W halogen light but the LEDs are much more efficient which is why this light only draws about 210W at 100% brightness, and is also why it barely gets luke warm when it’s on.
I have been running my light at 40% power all day and it’s not even warm, it feels like it’s room temperature. The 2x 120mm fans on top of this unit produce some noise which most people don’t know how to measure and their interpretation of “loud” or “quiet” is hugely skewed because I see some reviews saying this unit “is so quiet” and others say “it’s very loud” but not everyone has perfect hearing so loud to me with great hearing could actually be silent to someone with very poor hearing.
Noise is measured in decibels (dB) and things such as a light breeze or breathing which can barely be heard is about 5-10dB, the average compuer fan is about 25-30dB, a conversation in a nice restaurant with low music in the background is about 50dB.
This unit sounds to me like it’s about 30-35dB, or slightly louder than the average computer fan running at 100% speed. Since it’s in the grow tent most of the noise is trapped inside so it sounds like about 15dB from the outside of the grow tent when it’s closed.
Controlling the VEG and BLOOM light groups independently is nice because you can control the different wavelengths your plant needs at different stages of it’s growth very accurately with this light.
I couldn’t find any specs on which of the 12 wavelengths are actually controlled by each setting though. The timer and remote are very handy because this light can be mounted out-of-reach and still be fully controlled with the remote.
So i write my first recension in my life, we’ll see. I’m not the kind of man who thinks in the past was all better, but in the future?, i don’t think all will be better. It always two faces. Now to the LED-Board.
I’ve got good onions and garlic grown with the Mars Hydro 2 900W. That Board is really good for 90cm tent, till today! The average was all the time really satisfactioned. But when you think it over, 10years go by, it must be made something new inventions in led technics, otherwhile it where stupid wasted time (or making much money).
So i collect informations at web, and i’ve seen, the time is ready for a new age of LED Boards. To many people said it’s amazing what’s invited already. And the Mars Hydro ST3000 is the right one for my 120cm tent, and my purse.
It’s like from dark to the light, can’t believe it. It’s totally quite, and the temperature is exactly nice warm over 20degrees. Now i don’t waste any power, it’s much better than the Hydro2 for the same power what would be putting out.
But you as a customer can use all the Hydro LED’s cheap and good at all, also everyone needs a second lamp, because of murphy’s law. I can’t send photos because no one want’s to see tomatoes at work! I’m the dude, believe me.
Really thanks to Mars Hydro, we stay tuned. And greest from my wife, she got all older lamps for growing cucumber!.
I have been putting off buying led lights for a long time, because the first one I bought 10-years ago, a Flying Saucer put off this ghastly pink light that hurt your eyes to look at it, so I went back to using a HPS.
This Viparspectra, is only slightly pink so you can actually work on your plants without the special glass’s. From what I’ve seen on Youtube more white LED’s are the future. My second concern was do they grew plants as fast as the HID lamps! A couple of years ago I bought this house with two acres of land, where they cut down almost every tree on the land.
Why people do this is beyond my understanding, so I’m in the process of turning it back into woodlands. I live next to a federal game preserve and wildlife abounds, so everything I plant if for the animals! This is the second one of these lights I’ve bought.
I bought one last October, and started some apple, cherry, maple, and oaks from seed keeping the light on 24/7, and even with trimming the trees several times, by march I had some nice bushy 4 foot trees, ready to plant in the spring.
Needless to say I’m impressed. Even though these lights are nowhere, near as bright as HID’s every plant I’ve grown under them so far seem to grow just as fast, and are more compact then under the HID’s with way less heat, soI bought another one for bushes, and flowers.
I can’t give them a 5 star because I haven’t had them long enough to judge how long they will last; but at the price it’s a great way to try LED’s!.
I am very impressed with this light. I had some electrical issues in my mud room recently that left the climate in that room not much better than outdoors. I returned home one day, and my baby aloe plants were on the verge of popsicle status and were in need of help.
My mountainside home could provide the temperature indoors but not the sun. With shriveled leaves and a brown tint setting in, I immediately bought this lamp. Within a day of receiving this light, my aloe had done a complete turn around.
The leaves started to fill out and turn green again. The sleek design of this lamp makes it convenient to place anywhere. I don’t have to have a designated room for my plants (which I don’t have anyway lol).
I set up the plants on top of my bookshelf in my living room. The dimming aspect makes for a less intrusive light in the evening, as well as, not having to worry about any heat being given off either.
I am also impressed with the customer service. Although the light arrived in two days without a hitch, I was still contacted to make sure it arrived, and to make sure the light had not been damaged in anyway during shipping.
I have had some bad online shopping experiences. This definitely was not one of them. So far I have had a wonderful experience across the board. My baby aloe and I thank you.
I love this light. It works very well. This light allows blue, red, or both options so it is good for flowering and non flowering plants. The timer is awesome. I set the auto timer for 3 hours each day in the morning.
It auto turns on and off. I did have to reset the timer when my power went out or I unplug the light and move it. But that is to be expected with any electronic thing. The clamp is very easy to use and opens pretty widely so I can clamp it to various things.
The light is long so it works for large and small plant leaves. And the necks bend really easily so I can bend the lights into different configurations to reach various leaves. The instructions are easy and my plants are blooming and growing like crazy.
One note, put the light so it shines on the tops of the leaves cause that’s how light absorption works. Took me a minute to remember that. LOL Highly recommend this product. I already bought another one and will likely get a third one.
Had for over a year now, and the light function works great and the clamp is nice and strong but also padded so that you don’t have to worry about it moving or scratching. I like that you can chose the intensity, as I’ve been able to slowly acclimate new plants that were coming from a shady spot.
(I rotate plants in/out of my practically sunless office to the TLC station at home I created with these lights so that my office stays pretty but not deadly to plants. ) The only downside is the timer function.
I have the newer/current version where the timer will also turn the light back on for you in the mornings. The number of hours lighted is always accurate, but the unlighted time ends up being about 10-15 minutes short each day so the full cycle is only 23.
75 hours a day. This means the start time slowly drifts earlier and earlier so that I have to reset the system about once a week or I’ll end up with the lights coming on in the middle of the night instead of 8 am like I want.

Capable of fitting right into most fixtures, the Vita generates a full spectrum perfect for growing all types of plants! Bring the growing power of the sun to your favorite fixture and get growing!.
I am not a newcomer when it comes to growing plants indoors under lights. I have a vast collection of orchids, as well as a diverse variety of houseplants and fruit and vegetable plants, all growing indoors.
I got a Vita bc I needed a a grow bulb whose light would not be blinding (like the typical LED grow lights) and visually unappealing because it was going to be put in a lamp in a bedroom. I had a different grow bulb in that lamp before, one that was producing growth for the plants it shined on.
However, 2 days after putting in the Vita, there was an explosion in growth amongst all the plants (and not the leggy type growth where plants grow too tall bc they are desperately trying to get closer to the light source).
I couldnt believe it, so I experimented by growing strawberries and 2 different tomato varieties from seed (a total of 6 plants, 3 under the vita and 3 under my best performing grow light under which my orchids consistently grow and flower).
I used my Apogee PAR meter to take PAR measurements to make sure the test plants under both lights were getting the same PPF (umols/s), and both lights were on the same timer schedule. All the seeds produced plants, but the ones grown under the Vita completely dominated.
After 5 weeks, the ones grown under the vita were 3x bigger, and were robustly thriving in a way the other plants were not. I moved the test plants from my other grow light under the vita, and their growth exploded.
After 2 days, the tomatoes had grown like 6 inches, the new stalk that grew from the old stalk was 2x thicker, it looked like I had grafted a healthy tomato stalk onto struggling root stock. Im now replacing my grow lights one by one with Vita’s.
They are 100% worth every penny, and are actually an incredible value given how well they work, how aesthetically pleasing their light output is, and the fact that they are manufactured in Pennsylvania.
Since using the Vita Grow Light, my previously declining Silver Satin Pathos (Scindapsus Pictus ) has stopped yellowing and is producing new leaves in the dead of winter! I thought I had adequate indirect, bright light coming through my East facing window.
However, I failed to understand that the plant needed hours of light, not the 1 hour it had in the morning on the high shelf 2′ away from the window. The Vita Grow Light is bright and seems to be providing the light the plant craved! Also, I recently purchased a second plant, Monstera Adansonii, to live on the same shelf and under the same grow light.
It must have been too close to the light source because a couple of leaves have burn marks. I think this is user error because I was using a differently lighting setup than recommended on the website.
I had the grow light on the shelf directed upwards giving an ambient glow off of my white walls. However, the new plant was right next to the light fixture. I have changed my setup so that the light is hanging from the ceiling about 1-1/2′-2′ from the plants.
I hope this new setup will make both plant parties happy. Thankfully the Vita is dimmable so I can adjust the brightness. Overall, I’m very pleased and consider this a game changer. Now I have learned that my East facing windows does not mean my entire apartment has indirect, bright light.
The Vita Grow Light is providing the supplemental light I need, thank you!.

California Lightworks SolarXtreme The SolarXtreme line is one of California Lightworks easiest to use full-spectrum LED grow lights. Designed especially for grow tents and smaller scale home growing, this low-power grow light system draws very little power.
The SolarXtreme series features a COB (chip on board) design and utilizes a direct AC drive, so LED drivers are not needed. This enables high-efficiency LEDs to be used, at a much lower cost than traditional LEDs.
Users, therefore, benefit from full-spectrum grow lights that accommodate all stages of plant growth and flowering for many types of indoor plants, vegetables, and flowers. No adjustments are needed during the growing cycle.
California Lightworks horticultural LED lights have been developed based on years of research and knowledge of photosynthesis and biological processes. The SolarXtreme represents a convenient innovation in indoor LED grow lights suited for smaller cultivations and users who wish to conserve on power draw.
Best of all, just mount the unit, plug it in, and start growing!.
I thought I would purchase the SolarXtreme 250 and give it a try. I already own and use the Solar System 275 & I’m very happy with this dependable lighting system but I was looking for a secondary light to trade off with.
So far I am very impressed with the light. It works wonderfully and definitely gets the job done. I like that I can put the light closer to the plants without burning them. I did find it interesting that the l.
e. d. ’s were a bright white color versus the SolarSystem’s blue, purple & red colored l. e. d. ’s…. Either way these lights are definitely awesome. Thank You California Light Works, Keep up the great engineering of these awesome L.
I was waiting for my electric bill before I wrote my review. Just came today n it barely went up. I love it. N the plants are loving it too🙂. I got the solar extreme 250. I use a closet about 5ft x 3ft.
N I use supplemental lighting. A 4ft led, claims to be full spectrum. Then a growant 240equivalent. 80 watt draw, w osram led rated for a 2×2. That works good n the solar extreme 250 is that on steroids rated for a 3×3.
N the 4ft I have no idea what its rated for but I honestly did see a difference. More light the better I guess n a week later my solar extreme 250 came fed ex. I’m seriously considering getting the 5 series the extreme one w preset spectrum.
I like the fact that i don’t have to use the controller on the extreme series. My friend likes being able to adjust it. He has the solar system 5 series. But i think the factory setup on the extreme works phenomenal.
The plants are loving it ,n my wallet is loving it that my electric bill isnt skyrocketing.
I had a sickly hemp plant that would not grow no matter what I did. So after watching ad’s from California Light Works, I purchased a Solar Extreme 250 watt LED lamp to see if I could revive it as an experiment.
Most LED grow products are just sucker bait. I saw all the ad’s for their product pitched by an “Old dyed in the wool California smoker”. I thought it was all just BS. He’d just been smoking too many stalks and seeds.
After one day of the application of this lamp the seedling revived and a secondary plant the lamp shown on grew an inch~!! The plants were under a 430 watt HPS lamp and I got more growth in a day than in a week than with a HPS lamp.
I’m sold on California Light Works. I’m saving my money $$ for a 500 watt lamp and going to replace my HPS grow lighting with their products. Pay the extra money their product and warranty are worth it it performance and quality.

Arrived within 3 days in custom packaging that shows its a quality product and looks built to last years. Upon opening the panel it has the Spider Farmer markings and the build quality looks fantastic.
LEDs cover the board over what is a white background of highly finished coating. Two Meanwell drivers power the board with adjustable dimming options and the option of linking two or several units together.
Love the dimming option and the whole panel has 2 easy to assemble mounting cables with adjustable hangers, panel is nicely balanced for horizontal hanging. From initial power on the footprint was as expected for an LED board and although the lighting panel cost more than its HID alternative the extra lifespan, cheaper costs to run and less heat to deal with mean it should pay for itself within months.
I like it so much im considering getting another one as previously stated the footprint is less than its HID alternative but the board should run a 4 x 4 foot grow area with ease. Conclusion:- Quality Built Product, Dimming and Linking Option Is Great, Would Recommend A+++++++++.
Ive been using the purple color LEDs for about 5 years. The whole time thinkin I was getting the most bang for my buck. wrong! Quantum lighting is the way to go. Been running it for 3 weeks and can already tell a considerable difference.
Super bright, adjustable, and very little heat. Like the title of this review states, I wish I would have purchased a long time ago. So stop just looking at them in your watch list and dreaming, just buy the damn thing, youll be more than satisfied! If not, youll be left behind by all of those who do.
I bought a SpiderFarmer 4000w to replace my 1000 MH in my Moon Cabbage vadge room. I LOVE IT!!! I bought another one that I will use to replace the 1000 HPS in my Electric Lettuce flower room, and I’m going to by ANOTHER one because they use WAY less power than HID lighting and the LED’s run SO COOL that there won’t be a heat problem in my either of my rooms next summer! Thanks SpiderFarmer! You ROCK!!!!.
At 210 actual watts and 320 μMol/s total photon flux, the patent-pending PhytoMAX-2 200 LED grow light panels are perfect for smaller grows where it’s important to save energy and space without sacrificing light quality or intensity.

Photosynthetic Photon Flux (PPF) is 320 μmol/s 8′ grounded power cord included For indoor use The veg footprint is 3.
75 x 3. 75 ft, Flowering footprint is 3 x 3 ft. Dimensions: L 12″ x W 12″ x H 5″ Brand: Black Dog LED.
The light arrived promptly and was very well packaged. The unit is well made and has worked without problems. I originally had this installed so the the bottom of the fixture was 46″ above the top of the growing beds.
I measured the light intensity with an Apogee SQ-500 sensor which claims to capture all of the red light in the PAR spectrum. At the center of a 4 ft square table the intensity was 640 micromoles/m^2/s.
In the center of the edges it was between 400 and 350 and at the corners it was between 246 and 320. For an 18 hour lighting day, this puts the daily light integral (DLI) in the center at 41. 5 moles/m^2/day.
At the edges it drops to between 22. 7 and 25. 9 and at the corners it drops to between 15. 9 and 20. 7. This a very intense light. Most of the professional horticulturists say that the DLI should be between 12 and 14 for greens and 15 to 20 plus for vine crops.
It seemed like some of the lettuce varieties the were in the central part of the beam were getting sunburned and I raised the light as much as I could and tilted it slightly to direct it more toward the plants that can stand more light.
It would be better if my ceiling were higher (only 9 ft), or the plants were on the floor (hard on my back). I may eventually build a greenhouse. If your space is limited, you might want to forgo buying the worst LED fixture on the planet and get several smaller ones to spread out the light intensity.
The internodal spacing is immaculate to what I’ve been growing with! (Mh,hps, cheap LEDs) the difference is night and day,no joke! If you want resin production and layers of frosty trichomes your gonna wanna definitely run on these lights! I have 3 phytomax 2 200’s and they rock my 4×8 tent with snowflakes of trichomes from heaven, these three cover more footprint than a hps and give you better weight with 40% or more savings in electricity, the stickiness from the resin is no lie.
buds stick together,I have to go in and separate sticky buds every day! If your looking to grow quality herb! Then buy a quality light! And Black Dog is a game changer for the cannabis field! Dont take my word for it,ask anyone who uses black dog led lights, the results are astonishing!.
I bought the phytomax2-200 in December and started to grow immediately. I was a pretty hesitatent to purchase since the price is relatively expensive. I’m almost done with my first grow as a beginner and I’m impressed.
The light has worked as described without any fualt. The quality of the light is nice and easily noticed when being handled. The light also keeps the temperature down which is an added bonus. The fans are virtually noiseless and the distribution of light is great.
Overall the plants love this light and produce buds everywhere on the plant with the top canopy having massive buds. I few more grows with the phytomax2-200 to hone my growing skills and then I’m purchasing a 400 or 600.
My opinon if you can afford it get it. You won’t be disappointed.
At 210 actual watts and 320 μMol/s total photon flux, the patent-pending PhytoMAX-2 200 LED grow light panels are perfect for smaller grows where it’s important to save energy and space without sacrificing light quality or intensity.

Great Light with high PAR output I rate the light 4 stars out of 5 only because they have to keep overhead low and prices down to keep a lock on the bottom tier lights. If you will note they will give no info or insight on the overall CCT “color” of the light overall.
These are great to get the job done for a cheaper price. I only wish they would start a panel light series with more IR and addition of UVB diodes would be great to make the lights better for flower than veg.
The only downfall to these lights. Due to the lack of UVA/B diodes and running the minimal amount of Red and IR extends the plants life cycle and makes it take longer to finish. Other than this, what keeps the price down, they’re really unbeatable.
Just don’t try to get than cct report ? Maybe it’s too far from optimal 3500k to mention. Or maybe R&D is slipping? either way buy, learn, practice and probably move on unless they start a new series.
I’m crossing my fingers and been asking them as well.
I have had several LEDs and Im really liking the full spectrum white lighting thats out. I also like the pinks. Hmm. I however went with a bar type setup for uniformity and because I didnt like the rectangular shape of the xs/p series 2500/4000 lights.
Had they been squared I probably would have stuck with them, but Im definitely not upset with the competition. There are some really good lights out there and I had to do a lot of research. great starter/veg light.
I still use it for vegetative gardening, but I use my Ze510(which is a steal) and supplemental lighting for fruiting. Amazing veg light. Good fruiting light. Would I buy it again – no. Would I recommend on a budget – absolutely.
Would I say save up or aim higher – honestly – most certainly. Im an honest type. some stiff competition out there with great rates and Love the friggin heat sink on this thing though. Great value item.
The top-line just isnt there on the higher end items compared to others.
Compared to other 2000W grow lights, this light had more LEDS than all the other lights I looked at. It has a dimmer knob so you can give the exact amount of full spectrum light to your plants. Comes with easily adjustable hangers.
My plants love the color of light that this grow light puts out. They have grown more in the first week since I’ve been using it than in two weeks of prior growth with my other light of the same wattage.

These are simply bright lights that give the plants exactly what they need – LIGHT. The versatility of these lights are endless and they last for years. Running some of these for over 3 years, 12 hours a day and still working flawlesly.
I have several flat against a wall, to give light to hanging plants; I have others under cabinets, some in greenhouses, some hanging above plants, some to enhance terrarium light. The thinness of the panel makes them extremely versatile.
I’ve been ordering these flat panels from apluschoice for several years and while the price has increased slightly, I still find these lights to beat out the fancy so-called grow lights, with dimmers, fans and other unnecessary gadgets.
I have over 300 plants in my house and yes, I use other lights as well, but these panels are my favorite and judging from plant growth, my plants are happy with them too. Don’t get roped in by “gadgets” on grow lights – get something that actually works, like these panels.
I bought these for my Venus Flytraps, which require a minimun of 4 hours DIRECT sunlight. I was skeptical about buying them. However I’ve had them under the leds for about two weeks now, their new growth is healthy and has very good coloration you only get with bright light.
These leds pull 22 watts and are very cool. I have them completly covering a fishtank. (to keep my cat out) and the fishtank only gets to about 85 deg F. and its August in AR. I receved 2 panels unharmed however.
I am still waiting on a replacement for a third that was damaged in shipping. the panels are shiped in a bag not a box. with alot of shiping being automated the chances of it being crushed by another shipment are probably pretty high.
Giving 3 stars for now as I just received the unit and already am not impressed. THE GOOD: -The light is very bright and my plants appear black under it, so I hope it will help my plants grow in the next few months, only time will tell).
-It lights about a 16″x16″ very well and less so further out. -Very simple. No buttons or control. THE BAD: -The light is VERY thin, so much so, that it was warped before or during shipping. This doesn’t affect its ability to turn on and off, but was difficult to hang with the weird warping.
-No hanging kit, clips or any other accessories included. Disappointing as I thought a mounting kit was included (I used fishing line and a ceiling hook I had on hand) -No power switch so you must unplug to turn off (which is only a pain because of where I have my plants set up).
-Very simple. No buttons or control. (I listed this as both a pro and con as some may like the simplicity).

Reviews From Real Customers
I tried with a weaker bulb at first and I felt that it was not powerful enough at the distance I absolutely needed to have the bulb installed. This 32par seems to sustain my plants, even after about 2 weeks.
My bigger hanging pothos plant has two of these bulbs pointing at it. The other two share just one bulb. It makes the leaves look healthier too because it boosts the green color. Having these in front of a faux stone wall creates a really neat visual ambience that feels like summer These bulbs are very heavy.
I bought two different desktop lamps (Classic Luxo style), hoping to have the option to orient the spotlights as needed, but the bulbs are so heavy that the heads keep drooping back down, no matter how much I tighten the nuts and the knob.
So for now, until I find stronger adjustable fixtures, I just hung the lamps from the ceiling with hooks and wire. It doesn’t look neat but it works for now.
I have over 30 indoor plants on two shelves in my living room. Now that Winter is here I am concerned that my plants won’t be getting the light that they need to thrive. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on expensive grow lights because I am on a tight budget.
Even though this particular grow light is suggested to be used on flowering plants and plants in the beginning stage of growth, it seems to be effective for established indoor plants. I am using the light in a small table lamp that I already owned and the light covers a very large space on my wall.
All of my 33 plants receive some light from this grow light. The light itself is not harsh and It doesn’t bother me to be in the same room with the light all day. This is an inexpensive alternative to some of the grow lights on the market.
It gives me peace of mind that my plants are getting extra light during the dark, dreary days of Winter.

I’ve only had this for two days. The lights are good, the clamp is strong, the necks are adjustable. But it turns off after no time at all. I set it on the 12hr timer when I went to work yesterday, and when I got home it was off, so I put it on the 9hr timer just to see if it would stay on, and it lasted about half an hour.
I just tried it again, and the same thing happened, but when I turned it back on, it only stayed on for literally two minutes. I haven’t decided whether to return it or not, so if there is some setting I am missing, I hope someone will let me know, but I’m really annoyed that I can only use it when I’m home to turn it on every few minutes.
I have been growing indoor plants for years now and sell them online. One of the most difficult to propagate is the Lithops. They are very sensitive to direct heat so you have to make sure they are kept inside.
This grow light has been a friendly companion for them.

I’ve tried a few different brands of LED lights and so far the Spider Farmer has been mine and my plants favorite. I use them on a variety of plants, medicinal , herbs and vegetables, in grow room and greenhouse, with great results and function.
The light is easier on the eyes than the red and blue lights of others. Very happy with these lights.
Super pleased with this light so far. Low heat and very bright for the compact size. Have it in a 27×27 tent and my plants are loving it. Also has the variable intensity for different growth stages. Another great product from spiderfarmer.
There are a lot of different grow lights on the market, and it can be difficult to decide which one to buy. If you’re looking for a grow light that is affordable and effective, the best option is the LED grow light.
LED grow lights are more energy-efficient than other types of grow lights, and they produce very little heat, so they won’t damage your plants.
