Ground coffee for pour over is a type of coffee that is made by grinding the beans and then brewing them with hot water. This method is said to produce a cup of coffee that is more flavorful and has more body than coffee made with other methods.

When I first open a new bag off coffee, the smell that emanates will often tell me what to expect. This was especially true with High Achiever! There was no hint of that chemical smell you often get, just pure, natural product.
And including coffeeberry and Lion’s Mane was brilliant, and produced this strong, yet smooth coffee for energy that lasts all day! While they don’t advertise it on the bag, adding MCT and butter to this blend is a great use as well! Great product!.
I do my best to get up before my small children, drink coffee and try to tackle some emails before the yells and pounding of little feet overtake my morning. I needed something to give me that extra pep to power through those hectic mornings.
This coffee has been just the thing, I find so much joy in sipping on the smooth, rich, brew while I get my self ready and focused. It gives me just the right energy without the jitters to get me through my day.
I tend to be a light to medium coffee drinker, but found this medium/dark roast to be very flavorful and not at all overpowering. I do feel there is an additional boost over traditional coffee, but I found it to be a nice steady increase in energy and motivation rather than the sudden onset, heart racing boost that you might get from an energy drink or a supplement.
I appreciate that Bulletproof is careful to source their beans and then test them for toxins. I feel this is a quality product and will purchase more in the future.
Maxwell House Original Roast Ground Coffee has a consistent signature taste that is good to the last drop. This rich and classic original roast coffee is exceptionally smooth and aromatic and is the perfect start to your day.
Made with 100% pure coffee, this medium roast coffee is great served black or with cream and sugar. Brew a pot of this Kosher coffee in any drip coffee maker. The 30. 6 ounce resealable can of ground coffee maintains flavor in between uses.
From lively light roasts to full bodied dark blends, Maxwell Houses signature taste is created through a process that isnt done the easy way, but the right way, for 125 years.
I usually purchase the 1lb+ bag of Starbucks Morning coffee Morning Blend? but the day I looked to replenish my stock I couldnt finda vendor on Home Deliveries USA who had it for sale at the regular price.
I took to buying a couple bags of Dunkin Donut and I took a flyer on the mega cannister of Maxwell House Wake Up Roast. I thought this has to be a bucket of turpentine because theyre practically giving it away but for the price I could always use it for tire traction in my ice covered driveway.
So away I purchased. Then I read the reviews which was a huge mistake. Lovers scorned have better things to say about their exes. Why did I buy before reading the reviews??? Then the package arrived.
It sat on my kitchen table for a day before I gave it a shot. I used a heaping tablespoon for each 6 ounces of water as the directions indicate. My stuffed sinuses prevented me from detecting any aroma but the color was much darker than I anticipated.
I used my normal amount of creamer and sugar and the color was a little darker than my normal Starbucks. I gave it a taste and to my surprise its Not Too Shabby. Im drinking a cup now and Id recommend it for the cost conscious coffee drinker.
Ive read thatStarbucks haters claim the coffee has a burnt flavor and this coffee has somewhat similar flavor but more of an aftertaste with the coffee/water ratios I used above. but hey, thats me. The End.
For several years we have been purchasing other brands of coffee, mostly specialty coffees. Was recovering from surgery, almost out of coffee again, couldnt run out to get any, so decided to order on Home Deliveries USA.
I ran across Maxwell house and thought why not , then Ill get our regulars when I can. The Maxwell house was delivered 2 days later. The next day we made a pot and as we took our first sip of coffee that day, my husband I both looked at each other and at the same time said oh.
I had forgot how good this was. We are only going to buy Maxwell House from this point on. The fresh coffee smell and taste is so rich. It clearly brought back to me having coffee with my grandparents with that great coffee flavor and that so great aroma that filled their home every morning.
Additionally, the price is about half what we were paying for other brands and saved even more by signing up for the subscription. What a great deal, a container of lots of warm coffee for the winter days, that brings back wonderful memories, brought straight to our door, thats good to the last drop.
I like Maxwell House but I have noticed that with this particular flavor more often than not it is a flavor that could make me cut down on coffee. I dnt know what happened. I used to be able to buy Maxwell House and get a good cup of coffee at any time.
I was anxious to try other flavors. But this. no. I am going to close it up and save it for some time in a land far far away when i have absolutely no coffee to use again. and buy my old stand by which is the Colombian brand flavor.
This one is watered down and today I even put in extra coffee to try to make it have more flavor, but no. didnt work. Not sure what is wrong with it but I have noticed it before with this medium roast original blend, sadly.
UPDATE: After two days of drinking this, I find it is okay. It is the difference, massive, between the two flavors, Maxwell House Colombian and this. and now that I am used to this one, it is okay. Adding a star for this.
Its no accident that Lavazza is Italys favorite coffee. Four generations of the Lavazza family have dedicated over 120 years to finding the best blends of coffee beans from all over the world to provide you the authentic Italian experience.
The Lavazza Classico Ground Coffee Blend is no exception. A mix of African and South American varieties creates a balanced medium roast with rich flavor. Youll taste hints of dried fruit with every full-bodied sip.
This blend is ideally brewed in a drip coffee maker or French press. Enjoy a true taste of Italy that is uniquely Lavazza.
This coffee has changed. It was smooth, sweet and nutty, really enjoyable, especially if you like light/medium coffee roast. This new blend is now bitter. The color was warm like chocolate, now the color is darker.
It was 100% Arabica, and it was changed to Arabica and Robusta. Lavazza went from perfection to ordinary coffee, it’s disappointing from this company. The name “Classico” sounded fair, now it is misleading.
There is nothing “Classico”, this coffee as nothing in particular that makes you like it. I am disappointed. I tasted Lavazza Expresso which says it is 100% Arabica but again it is very ordinary compare to the original Lavazza Classico.
I don’t think I will buy more coffee from this company, sadly.
I hesitate to try pre-ground coffee. Lavazza has a medium to dark flavor. The caffeine content is very good; definitely reminds that it is morning. The flavor is on the sharp side, but not as pungent as Starbucks.
In lieu of regular whole bean i normally buy, Lavazza is better than other pre-ground brands.
I love this coffee!! The aftertaste is so smooth, no bitterness. I have also used the kcups mix- really love that variety too. If I could only drink one coffee this would be my choice. Italian in origin and it does take me back to my first morning- Rome sidewalk with a little breakfast bread and I was blown away by the extraordinary flavors and freshness in simplicity.

Firstly, I am a coffee connoisseur. Secondly I bought a bag of this nonsense at the local supermarket. Thirdly I have enjoyed coffee that is genuinely strong enough to make you want to run a marathon in the morning, and this nonsense Death Wish BS “Worlds Strongest Coffee” is an absolute lie and not even close by a Long Shot! So here is a quick primer of what makes genuinely STRONG coffee: 1 – the beans are grown at Low, Hot altitude, aka NOT Arabica, but rather Low-Altitude Ultra-Hot Climate Robusta beans, for example the fields of Sumatra (some of the best beans and coffee in the world), and NOT high-altitude Columbian (garbage coffee).
2 – the coffee must be roasted SLOWLY at a modest temperature to get the oils (caffeine) to gently come to the surface, aka NOT Starbucks who roasts their beans at very high temperatures quickly because of the sheer turnover rate they have to produce.
3 – More roasting within the guidelines above IS better, aka NOT this myth that a “mild roast has more caffeine” – that is incorrect and not how it works. Perfect roasting for maximum caffeine takes time, and most major roasting companies do not work on that principle, but instead try to crank out as much coffee as fast as possible.
Having lived in a variety of countries and traveled to about 1/3 of this planet, I can tell you that the information above supersedes any marketing nonsense from any company. Also, for the record my comparison is by way of a 2-shot french press that travels the world with me, marked with an exact measurement for the “fill level” and always left to steep for about 15 minutes with a stir in the beginning and a stir at the end before pouring (can you tell I like double-blind science?).
I have had fresh cups in streets of Sumatra, the coffee fields of Laos, cafes in Italy, etc. I have bought bags of coffee around the world, including the infamous Luwak coffee which tastes excellent but admittedly is not very strong.
By comparison, a straightforward bag of Starbucks Sumatra Blend is FAR stronger than this nonsense Death Wish coffee. I have had numerous Dunkin’ Donuts coffees with more caffeine than Death Wish. Their claim itself, “World’s Strongest” is just plain False Advertising.
In short don’t waste your money, and when you buy a bag of coffee my recommendation is Indonesian (Sumatra, Mocha Java, etc), as their coffee fields tend to be low altitude and extremely hot. Read the label, and if it says “100% Arabica” it means the coffee will taste better but have LESS caffeine.
Labels that do not say that often are at least mixed with Robusta beans, which is where you will find the real caffeine. Old school Folgers and the strong coffee at Denny’s is mostly Robusta for example, for people (e.
g. Truckers) who need to Wake Up! Save your money and don’t waste it on this “Death Wish” absolute BS.
I dug deep to come up with a title of this review, fitting enough to express the worthiness of the experience this coffee brings every time, with every cup I drink! I had to borrow a phrase from Snoop Dogg! This coffee is the Shim Sham Shizzle Each and every time I make a cup for a friend who has never tried Death Wish Coffee, my preference is the Medium Roast, the results are the same, first sip……oh my, 2nd sip oh my………….
that coffee ☕️ is unbelievable……. then the questions begin………,Whats that called again, where can I get some of this……. and the obligatory……. ,could I have another cup please. That’s it, like me, they’re hooked! I love the experience of introducing your coffee to someone almost as much as drinking your coffee! The product sells itself, ( sorry for the cliché), but its sooo true! Just for the record I never write reviews on products, I just don’t, I felt obliged to in this instance.
How can you go wrong with a product who’s culture is producing great coffee, the art of tattoos and other various sundries, cough cough, I’m in heaven, these are mine kind of people, digging my kind of culture! Cheers, mugs up! To clarify, I Keurig using my own pods!.
I have seen Death Wish Coffee for some time at the market and finally went ahead and purchased it. I have historically been hesitant due to the price considering the amount of coffee we go through at my house in a weekly basis, but with a name like Death Wish I couldn’t resist forever.
For perspective, I typically enjoy Kicking Horse Medium or Dark roast lately – and in the past have enjoyed the various Raven’s Brew blends such as Deadman’s Reach, Three Peckered Billy Goat, as well as Portland Coffee Roasters blends.
I was not pleased with this coffee, it is most definitely not worth the price of $20/bag. I wouldn’t be re-purchasing this coffee if it was $10. 99/bag. The taste is flat, and is like diner coffee. I was definitely expecting a more rich experience with more depth of taste than this.
I’m certainly not naive to coffee and enjoy it daily for the taste. There are much more tasteful options out there that cost less than half of a price of Death Wish. I’ll try the dark roast at some point but I feel like I might be let down there too.
Black Insomnia Full flavour is our darker, more intense coffee taste. It has all the body of a dark roast but none of the bitterness. Packed with a smooth tasting extreme caffeine kick. A prefect serving of coffee in individually sealed bags.
No need for grinders, filters, or presses. Simply pour hot water into the bag! The ultimate in convenience and great taste. Our specially selected blend of Arabica and Fine Robusta beans are slowly, and carefully small batch drum roasted, an age-old Italian tradition.
Smooth yet strong caramel, hazelnut, and macadamia aromas. A luxurious robust dark chocolate flavour with a velvety body and crema. Low in acidity and all-natural. Choose Black Insomnia Full flavour if you enjoy a full-bodied darker roast.
48 Pour Over Bags Full Flavour – 48 bags, 7g ground coffee per bag.
I’ve been a coffee fan, coffee aficionado, coffee connoisseur for almost 60 years. I’ve sampled exotic blends and exotic beans– from Jamaica, Kenya, Costa Rica and– my particular favorite for decades– Hawaiian Kona.
(I lived in Hawaii in the 70’s, where it was readily available and relatively affordable, as opposed to what it sells for now, in this age of Caffeine Culture. ) But I must say that your Black Insomnia dark roast tops them all.
Rich, smooth, and SO satisfying. I drink 2 to 4 cups a day, partly for the energy benefit, but mainly because it’s just so pleasing to my palate. Good shtuff, y’all!.
I was skeptical about this product, but after ordering the 20 pack, I’m ordering the 60 pack now. I love the nespresso machine, but never found good flavors I really liked. This stuff is strong and has really great flavor!! The wife and I brew an actual cup and at this to the top.
Its a game changer in this house, and we drink coffee twice a day.
Can’t really give an honest review yet! I have yet to receive product. I am coming up on my third week of m two days of weekly subscription and haven’t received my initial order yet. Not happy! That is far from 3-5 days.
It’s always coffee time. Yuban Traditional Medium Roast Ground Coffee is the perfect fuel to enjoy with breakfast or as a great energy boost throughout the day. This Certified Kosher medium roast ground coffee brings you a rich, full flavor without being bitter or too strong.
Made with delicious pure coffee, Yuban uses a mix of Robusta and Arabica coffee beans to create a unique, perfectly blended taste. The deep rich flavor of Yuban coffee comes from a carefully sourced selection of beans from Latin America and other tropical regions around the world.
Yuban was originally blended more than 100 years ago for special occasions with family and friends. Today, Yuban coffee still stands as the perfect companion for conversation with its signature taste and tantalizing aroma.
Each of their signature coffees can be made with a drip coffee maker, French press or pour-over brewer. Add just one tablespoon of medium roast coffee beans to six ounces of fresh, cold water to make a terrific cup.
Delicious served black, with cream and sugar or however you take your coffee, you can depend on the quality taste of Yuban. The resealable can of ground coffee has an easy-grip handle and maintains the superior quality that Yuban has held for more than 100 years.
I’d been purchasing Yuban medium roast and mixing it half and half with various expresso brands (Starbucks, Lavazza, Cafe Bustelo) to get the flavor intensity I want in my morning coffee. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, BUT doing the mixture always costs more.
For roughly half the price, I get the full flavor of a light expresso merely by using Yuban Dark Roast Bold. I’ve always been a Yuban fan, but lately have been needing a little more flavor intensity.
I am fortunate to have found exactly what I want within the same brand family and at a very reasonable cost. The other plus is that there is no “acid” like aftertaste that I frequently got when mixing espresso with regular Yuban.
Very bold, dark and full-flavored coffee. I usually drink Maxwell House or Folgers and seen other good reviews about this coffee, and decided to try it. I prefer to make iced coffee, and add a very small bit of sweetener, which this coffee works out perfectly for.
The coffee is great for it’s value. I will definitely be buying more, and I recommend this Yuban coffee.
These beans are very different from prior years. Dark, oily finish that jams semi-automatic espresso machines. Every year at the holidays I purchase these and as expected within 1 grind my machine jammed and I had to tear it apart to clean out the oily bean mess.
Support did assist me in selecting and replacing with Medium Roast – it’s good but noticeably different taste and smell from what I used to purchase before. I know you use many suppliers but that’s your job to help customers sleect the best Illy product for an application.
It’s like your company reformulated and forgot to recalibrate the message for customers. A note on the product page saying what it is suitable for and what it is not suitable for is necessary. And the FAQ page ehhh too many to be obvious and anyway I don’t see it.
The photos use for Intenso whole beans don’t match the beans! Those pics look like Medium Roast.
This is italian caffè, made with whole bean coffee Arabica. When you open the tin you can smell already coffee aroma very strong, inside the tin there is coffee powder. To prepare italian caffè, you will need the moka where you put water, inside the filter you put coffee powder, then close the moka and put on the gas.
When the water boils, it goes into fhe filter and finally the caffè comes out, you will need small cups as italian caffè is very strong , you have to add some sugar and coffe is ready to be drinked. This coffe is very energetic and will make you very active, italians.
Usually italians drink caffè in the morning and after dinner because is digestive. Another tip: some people when have head ache they just drink a caffè because the caffeina is pain killer!.
This coffee is amazing! I make it a point to stop at their shop in Detroit airport, so imagine how delighted I was to find this gem at my local target. It’s so smooth that I drink it black! Just remember to use filtered water, not tap( obviously).
Also, I brew it in my ninja coffee machine because I don’t have an espresso machine. Still, it’s perfect. Highly recommend. It’s better than the Dunkin’ original blend, and the Pete’s coffee blend that I typically buy.
However it’s only slightly better than Stumptown creamy & caramel organic coffee blend. Hopefully that helps.
Its no accident that Lavazza is Italys favorite coffee. Four generations of the Lavazza family have dedicated over 120 years to finding the best blends of coffee beans from all over the world to provide you the authentic Italian experience.
The Lavazza Crema e Gusto Ground Coffee Blend is no exception. A mix of Brazilian Arabicas with African and Indonesian Robusta coffees creates a rich dark roast with an intense, fragrant aroma. Youll taste hints of chocolate with every full-bodied sip.
This blend is ideally brewed as a traditional Italian espresso but is versatile enough to work with a drip coffee maker, French press, moka pot whatever your favorite method of brewing may be. Enjoy a true taste of Italy that is uniquely Lavazza.
TIPS FOR FRESHNESS: AFTER OPENING, KEEP YOUR LAVAZZA COFFEE IN THE FRIDGE IN AN AIRTIGHT OPAQUE CONTAINER.
Reviews From Real Customers
This is 70% robusta and 30% arabica (rather than Qualita Rossa’s 30% and 70%) which means it’s got quite a lot more caffeine in. It does a pretty good espresso in my moka pot, keeps me going better through the day.
I have it with some sugar neat – it is a bit bitter but classier than a lot of supermarket own-brand dark-roasted espresso coffee which you’ll gag on. This is comparatively merciful, a bit harsh but it’s got a good aftertaste and it’s mixed with some of those Lavazza sweet liquoricy arabica flavours.
I suspect it’s a bit too bitter for ‘long’ drinks i. e. where you add milk etc, but I don’t know for sure.
Lavazza Creme Egusto is my idea of coffee heaven. It really does pack a punch and you absolutely can tell from the smell and aroma that it’s definitely going to be strong. This as an espresso is fantastic, or if your preference is a cafetiere with or without milk you can’t go wrong.
A beautiful blend with a hint of spice that gives it a very distinct and unique flavour.
This is my favourite ground coffee I have tried so far. It is strong without being bitter. I didn’t think it would be as creamy as it is- I don’t usually drink my coffee black but you just don’t need milk with this.
I tried it with and without and definitely preferred it without. Will definitely purchase again.

This coffee has a good robust flavor. I’m not a fan of most decaf coffees, but after a few cups of regular, I switch to decaf. I use this with my single cup maker, but not in the espresso machine. I prefer Royal Kona espresso roast for that one.
However, this is my every day go to for decaf, and I usually drink at least one cup a day. It’s worth the price for the great flavor. I order directly from Lion because my husband, who cannot drink caffeinated coffee at all, loves it, also.
Lion Coffee sent me a sample of their vanilla macadamia coffee in the light to medium roast. I was excited to try it because my favorite cookies are macadamia nut. The vanilla makes the coffee a little bit sweet but not to sweet.
Lion Coffee has been making their coffee for over 150 years and their located in Hawaii.
I like to drink Espresso, so what I do is fill up the Espresso 3/4 of the way and fill the rest up with Lion toasted coconut. I make an Americano out of this. Pouring a shot or two into a cup and fill the rest with water.
I put in a little cream and Blue Agave. nuke it in the micro for a minute. It tastes great. For regular coffee, I mix a scoop of French roast and a scoop of Toasted Coconut. A scoop of Hazelnut coffee with Toasted coconut is pretty good too.
Either way, I can’t do without using Lion Toasted Coconut coffee. It’s excellent coffee.
This is the stuff that fueled the resistance! This balanced blend of high grown coffees is roasted to a rich darkness you can taste. Excellent body and intense flavor are highlighted by smoky aromatic undertones and an unexpected hint of sweetness developed during the dark French roast.
Get the sweetness you crave right when you wake up with the Wicked French Ground Coffee from Wicked Joe Coffee Co. This balanced blend is roasted to a rich darkness that you’ll love – the full body and bold flavor are highlighted by smoky undertones and a surprise hint of sweetness from baker’s chocolate.
Grind the beans and add to your coffee maker, French press or pour over to indulge in the delicious flavor on its own or with a splash of your favorite creamer.
My husband and I have been trying to be better about buying organic for health reasons, and since he drinks coffee every day, we knew that a quality organic coffee was a must. I actually went to this company’s website before purchasing and was seriously impressed with how they run their business.
I ended up buying all of the varieties that they offer on Vitacost (great prices), but the Bella Maria is my favorite. Even though I don’t drink coffee every day like my husband, I LOVE the smell of it.
Bonus: I grew up in Maine, and this company happens to be located not far from where my parents still live. Maine companies rock! Can’t beat the quality, honesty and integrity. We’ll be ordering a lot more, for sure.
I bought it because I ran out my regular coffee. Positive: It has caffeine. Negatives: It has a very burnt, unpleasant flavor, is incredibly acidic, and comes with a lot of extra debris in your coffee cup.
Spend then extra $2 and get literally anything else.
I like this coffee, noticing the smooth creamy chocolate taste but I ‘m not picking up the smoky? Its a dark rich balance type ( for me) Easy to drink -not bitter. Bold enough for lattes but smooth, black.
Its organic, from Maine. I’m glad I tried it for the first time – just ordered my second bag. I would recommend this product.
Lavazza, the Italian coffee specialist, selects the finest quality beans at their source in exotic locations around the world and then prepares premium coffee blends that are ideal for use in professional espresso machines.
This attention to detail is the secret behind Lavazza’s guarantee of consistent in-cup excellence. Caffe Espresso is a blend of the highest quality 100% Arabica coffee beans. It is suitable for use in all types of coffee makers.
A corny title (no doubt) but it’s true. I’m a coffee addict. I’m sick to death of paying the high prices in coffee shops to be served a substandard brew so I’ve invested in a bean to cup machine and I’m definitely not looking back.
Lavazza is my ‘go to’ brand. It is the best I’ve found and I’ve definitely wasted a great deal of time and money experimenting with other brands before happily settling. Consistently rich crema, bold aromas and outstanding flavour.
I normally drink the Rossa (red) Lavazza, but saw this and gave it a try. Compared to the Rossa this black one is bitter to my taste. The grounds looks slightly darker i. e. more roasted. The flavour is marginally more intense, but seem to lack the depth of the red one.
The dominant flavour is bitterness, similar to some high street coffee shops. I’m going back to the red!.
Delicious coffee beans with a great flavour and richness with a lovely aroma. It’s strong but smooth and doesn’t taste too bitter. Rich espresso and lovely for milky lattes with a great taste. Perfect for a coffee lover.
Best value for a really great flavour. Really pleased with this purchase.
HOW TO BREW & KEEP IT TASTING FRESH: WE SUGGEST: ONE ROUNDED TABLESPOON OF COFFEE FOR EVERY 6 FL OZ WATER, 6, BUT IT’S YOUR CUP-MAKE IT EXACTLY THE WAY YOU WANT. SQUEEZE ALL THE AIR OUT + ROLL & SEAL THE TOP OF THE BAG + STORE IN A COOL, DRY PLACE (BUT NOT IN THE FREEZER).

Several years ago my wife innocently said, “I wonder why we can never get coffee to taste as good at home as it does in some places?” That led me on a year-long quest (obsession) to brew the best cup of coffee possible.
After all, coffee is 95% water. how hard could it be. I read everything, bought books, watched documentaries and youtube videos, bought equipment, and visited every coffee shop and roaster in a 100 mile radius.
By the end of the year I was ordering green coffee beans online and doing my own roasting, and doing chemical adjustments on the water I was using; paying detailed attention to the grind, measuring it to the tenth of a gram according to the golden cup standard, and focusing on water temperature.
I realized that if it was possible to brew the best cup of coffee in the world and drink it every day. it wouldn’t be the best cup of coffee anymore. Part of the allure is that it’s NOT an every day routine.
So I took all of that knowledge and experience I had learned and adjusted our morning coffee routine so that we can drink “very good” coffee every morning – to where we prefer our coffee to most others, and yet I’m not spending an hour and a bunch of unnecessary money on each and every cup.
After trying many brands and styles we landed on Post Alley and have used it exclusively now for probably 2 years or more. Obviously, taste is a subjective thing. For us, this is our number 1 choice.
I haven’t bought this in a long time. I used to really like this dark roast. I recently purchased a bag and when I opened it, it did not even smell like coffee. It had a strange aroma – it smells like burnt rubber when brewing.
The taste was even more difficult to describe. I can’t even describe what it tasted like because I have never had a coffee taste like this and never had a coffee so bitter that I could not even get down more than 2 sips.
Something has changed with Seattle’s Best and I am afraid it is not for the best.

Our filters are produced using chlorine-free white, natural brown and bamboo paper. Our coffee beans are sourced from farms located in prime coffee-producing regions. Enjoy our entire range of ground coffees, whole bean coffees, and single serve coffee pods.
I drink medium roasts. This Classic is mellow, smooth with no aftertaste. Very enjoyable (as opposed to cheap store brands). I brew this for guests and receive many compliments. For myself, my normal is Hazelnut or vanilla.
But with guests, I drink this as well. Are you not getting the desired brew? a. Melitta ground coffee is FINELY GROUND and brews stronger as per instructions. Please pay attention to the can instructions for strength.
*tip- more grounds usually results in a bitter cup, not bolder flavor. b. compare YOUR OWN COFFEEMAKER brew QUANTITY. Some makers brew a 5 OZ. CUP while other makers brew a 6 OZ. CUP. c. remove basket of grounds within 5 minutes of brewing, as the remaining drips will make your coffee bitter and not stronger.
d. Run tests on water measure. Always use the same measure of water using the same every time, while adjusting the TEASPOON measure of ground coffee to receive your desired strength. This will take several cups of coffee, so only make a consistent half batch each time until you reach HAPPINESS! After a full day of my experiments, I have consistent cups of coffee daily 🙂 with all flavors of MELITTA 🙂 – My personal results proved that my maker brewed less than it advertised.
Have fun drinking while you are testing!! I will accept emails for questions or input. THANK YOU, MELITTA.
My story about Melitta Coffee… In 1977, I got my first job out of college in Southeast Alaska in Juneau. I had to work shift work and was out in the elements periodically. The weather in Juneau is rather diverse.
That’s a nice way of saying it’s cold, wet and windy. A friend I worked with occasionally introduced me to Melitta coffee. It became my favorite instantly. After 3 years I transferred back home to the southeast.
Better weather but no Melitta. Once I retired, we traveled the entire US and Canada over the years and searched for Melitta. Not one can was found. So in 2022, I searched online for the delicate brew and was successful.
Within a few days, I sat with a hot cup of Melitta in front me. Would it be the same as it was 45 years ago? It certainly was!!! I’m having a cup right now.
I have been drinking Melitta for at least 25 years, maybe longer. It is one of the best. I ordered the first time online, recently. The delivery was quick and the product was in order and intact. I would recommend this brand highly.
It is not bitter and has a very smooth taste. You have to decide how much of a heaping scoop you will use to decide your acquired taste. It is very smooth with no acidic taste. Enjoy this coffee as you would at a coffee house but inside your own home.
The folks making a decision whether to buy it, I will say this “Your first cup won’t be your last. “.
This dark, heavy-bodied Italian roast coffee is excellent for espresso, but also pairs well as an iced coffee or as a classic drip brew. The flavor of our Italian Roast Espresso is bold and rich with profoundly tangy undertones that highlight notes of dense and bittersweet red fruits.
This artisan blend is perfect for those who enjoy a traditional Italian roast coffee that brews a strong, dark cup. Tradition is extremely important in Italian culture. Our Italian Roast Espresso epitomizes the dense, deeply bittersweet “take a break and slow down before your crema settles” brew.
These palate blasting flavors and rich foam are the perfect accompaniment to reading the paper, escaping the hustle and bustle or truly just taking the time to remember what great coffee is all about.
We enjoyed Anniversary Blend very much. It was a well above average coffee, pretty well rounded. It’s a medium roast, but with bold body so it wasn’t timid. If it were the only FRC coffee we’d tried, it would be OK as our “go to” coffee, but we are on a mission! Coffee is an affordable luxury and we’re searching for the best; we don’t want to settle.
The Anniversary Blend entered into an unfair fight: we bought a bag of it at the same time we decided to splurge a bit on a bag of Haitian Blue. The bags were big enough they lasted us a while, long enough to do ample comparisons between the two.
It was no contest: the Haitian Blue won convincingly, and although it’s more expensive, I just buy the Haitian Blue in 5# bags, which puts us over the free-shipping threshold, and use Fresh Points to get a discount.
Sure we could spend half as much on our coffee, but it’s not like we’re buying caviar; we can afford a few more dimes per day to get the best coffee we can brew. So nothing against Anniversary Blend.
If you’re contemplating buying some, go for it. It might be exactly what your taste buds want. For us, it was good, but noticeably less so than the Haitian Blue. We’ll keep exploring FRC’s extensive offerings and see if we find something we like even more than Haitian.
I’m an extremely happy customer; FRC’s products, pricing, ease of ordering, roast-to-order process, and their prompt shipping has made us very happy, loyal customers.
All three of these selections, French, Italian and Breakfast Blend were unpleasantly bitter. Some bitterness is not unexpected; I’m drinking a cup of the French Roast now, made to my normal strength in a Chemex, with a LOT of milk, and it reminds me of how much it’s not like the typical cafe creme I used to enjoy in Provence.
We expected the Italian roast to be slightly lighter, but it wasn’t. The Breakfast Blend, a much lighter roast, was also nearly undrinkable. Needless to say, we won’t order any of these again. On a positive note, though, I’m glad these were offered as a sampler.
We’re still enthusiastic about FRC. My current favorite is the Tanzanian Peaberry, and my wife’s favorite is the Indian Monsoon Malabar. We really like the Java Taman Dadar, too.
Once in a blue moon, one finds the perfect harmony in things he or she expects and enjoys in a carefully crafted product. I didn’t discover Fresh Roasted Coffee until about four years ago, when I went over to a friend’s house and saw two, HUGE five pound bags of coffee beans sitting on top of his refrigerator.
Up until this point in my life, I had always preferred the darkest, most potently roasted beans and upon his most favorable reviews of FRC, I ordered my first bag of beans. And of course, they were French and Espresso roasts.
They were excellent and mouthwatering, with the quick shipping and the price point, I was very happy with the whole package. But if you’re someone like me, I like supporting my local roasters and products, so I continued ordering from FRC, a couple times a year, while picking up beans from my local roaster a lot of the times.
Then the pandemic hit and the local roaster closed its doors, along with a handful of my favorite local businesses and restaurants. And to be honest, by this time, my taste in coffee beans had been changing little by little, and finding myself preferring a little less dark, more flavorful roasts, such as a Viennese roast or something even a little milder.
So during the pandemic, surfing thru FRC’s website, I found the medium roasted Blackbeard’s Revenge blend and decided to give it try, along with a bag of organic beans from Mexico. The result was that I found Blackbeard’s revenge to have the most balanced character of any blended coffee beans I had ever tried, with its medium roast and acidity, perfectly nuanced without sacrificing that smoky taste of coffee that I loved.
I’ve ordered several pounds of it since, not only for myself but for friends and family for the past holidays. I have a feeling they’ll be my staple of coffee beans for a long time and will be hard pressed to find a medium roast blend better than Blackbeard’s Revenge.
Made with 100% Arabica beans and carefully harvested from the rich soils and mountainous regions of the foremost coffee-growing areas of the world. Delicious starts right here. Enjoy the discovery! Arabica beans are widely recognized for their superior flavor, smooth body and rich aroma versus other coffee.
Roasting coffee beans requires the right balance of time and precise temperature to convert coffee’s naturally occurring sugars and starches to rich coffee. For a great brew of coffee, use 2 Tbsp of ground coffee in your brewer for every 6 fl oz of water.
I bought 6 cans of the coffee two weeks ago and received last week. Looking at the expiration date on all the cans and it read Aug 17, 2022. I did write the company about the expiration date and no response.
It all good for now, we are dealing with covid, the war right now, people don’t want to work. I’m not making any excuses that’s just the way things are. I don’t have to purchased coffee any more from Keurig.
I will choose to buy elsewhere and choose a different brand of coffee from here out. As always thank you so much for your business. I will not take time to add a photo to this, they know what was send out.
I have been using this coffee for a couple years now and I have to say, it’s definitely my favorite. I used to use the red can in this brand for years before and I prefer the Columbian. I tried the pod type coffee maker and for whatever reason, I didn’t care for it.
It’s just not the same as brewed. I brew mine every day in a Bunn commercial brewer so that might be why it tastes so good. I’m thankful that I can just have my 4 cans of coffee on auto ship with Keurig, I thought they only sold the pods.
Had to order twice first order all cans of coffee(4) were expired. the second order of the same items had an expiration date of only 60 days away, not acceptable. I feel like you’re trying to get rid of old inventory.
I will purchase this from amazon in the future, their expiration dates on this item are out in the next year 2023, please don’t try to pass off expiring food. Very disappointed. Buyer beware!!.
We do not appreciate this coffe much because we don’t find it as aromatic, smooth and especially flavorful as the “Mind, Body and Soul” or the “Ethiopean” medium roast coffees from Equal Exchange we regularly enjoy.
Although “Cafe Salvador” is labeled as medium roast, we feel it qualifies more as a dark roast. We brewed it in several styles and we did not find any of the flavors or aromas listed in its description.
Unfortunately, we would describe it as a dark roast that is a bit acidic, not as smooth as the other two I mentioned, and rather closer to the drip coffee at a gas station or a diner in flavor and aroma.
Your Toffee Caramel coffee is better than great–it’s wonderful! Miriam is a friend who told me about it several years ago. I have been buying it ever since and enjoy it often. What a treat! I now buy several packages so I can give some as gifts, and Deb is getting a package tomorrow.
The flavor wasn’t very strong. I was disappointed. May I also talk about the chocolate gift pack that I bought? It has some of the worst tasting chocolate I’ve ever tried. Who puts pepper in chocolate? And why is so much of the gift pack dark chocolate? I would love to see a gift pack featuring mostly milk chocolate, and mostly unadulterated milk chocolate!.
Carefully sourced from higher-altitude regions to capture the flavor of a more delicate and sweeter coffee bean, our American Classic blend highlights distinctive notes of vanilla and cocoa. At origin, the coffee is selectively harvested to allow time to develop its full vibrancy resulting in a sweet clean finish when roasted.
This well-rounded blend truly embodies a classic American coffee taste profile.
CommunityCoffee has been a mainstay in my home for many years. I love that the quality & freshness is consistent, regardless of which variety I purchase. This Ground Coffees Around the World – Mexico coffee is a light-bodied coffee with subtle notes of bittersweet cocoa.
One of the aspects I appreciate is that this delicious coffee with it’s silky finish does not upset my sensitive digestive tract. It’s 100% Arabica Coffee. It comes from the beans of a Coffea Arabica plant, which originated in Ethiopia.
Arabica coffee contains almost 60% more lipids and almost twice the amount of sugar of other types of coffee. These play an important part in not only the flavor, but the aroma and body of the coffee.
Arabica beans taste better because the increase in sugar gives the coffee a better taste, a cleaner mouthfeel, and a decrease in bitterness. The aroma of this coffee is divine! It filled my senses the moment I opened the resealable package and then filled my apartment as it brewed in my electric drip coffee pot.
Looking forward to trying other varieties of CommunityCoffee’s “Coffees Around the World” blends. Love that I can savor the flavor of coffees served in other countries without leaving my apartment.
Yuban Traditional Roast Medium Roast Ground Coffee is the key to crafting the perfect wake-up beverage to enjoy with breakfast, or for a boost of energy later in the day. Our Kosher medium roast coffee delivers a rich, full flavor without being too bitter or dark.
Yuban uses a mix of Robusta and Arabica coffee beans to create the perfect coffee blend. Our signature ground coffee is great for drip coffee makers and pour-over brewers alike. Just one tablespoon per 6 fluid ounces of fresh, cold water makes a terrific cup of coffee every time.
The 31-ounce resealable canister of ground coffee maintains the superior quality that Yuban has claimed for more than 100 years.
I have this on a subscription for my grandfather and his caregiver in Kansas. I’m a coffee snob and I grind my own beans, but they just makes coffee in a pot without much thought. They were using generic coffee from the grocery store which I believe to be a crime against humanity.
I got him this flavor and he thought it was delicious. This is my go-to coffee when I can’t make my own coffee or I don’t have my own beans. I think it has the best flavor of all of the pre-ground. Strangely I could not find it in his Kansas grocery store so I just put him on a subscription.
He and his caregiver are very happy with the flavor and adore it. And now when I go to visit him I won’t be drinking swill.
I ordered this Yuban coffee due to the positive reviews. I have tried other coffees at a lesser price than *bucks, and they tasted awful. Due to such high prices for *bucks, I ordered the Yuban to give it a try, and I am so happy to report that this is just as good as *bucks! Yuban is 24 cents per oz compared to *bucks at 58 cents per oz and I have 31 ounces of Yuban to enjoy without having to reorder *bucks at 12 oz.

When it comes to making pour over coffee, the quality of your grind is extremely important. A good rule of thumb is to use a coarser grind for a slower brew, and a finer grind for a faster brew. Depending on the coffee beans you’re using, the grind size can make a big difference in the taste of your coffee.
In general, you want to start with a coarser grind and then adjust based on the brew time. If your coffee is brewing too quickly, it’s likely that your grind is too fine. Conversely, if your coffee is taking too long to brew, it’s likely that your grind is too coarse.
The best way to find the perfect grind size is to experiment. Try different grind sizes and brew times until you find the combination that works best for you.
