2 months of sitting and I filled her up, 3 pulls to start. But this is because gas needed to go through the system! Not, because it’s not a good engine. I’ll cut to the chase and say that right now in 2021 of May the go kart is sitting in the driveway ready to be driven! The engine is reliable and never once gave me a problem, I would recommend this engine to anyone looking to not spend the big bucks.
I was replacing a 16HP V- twin engine on a log splitter. I had my doubts with the single cylinder replacement, figuring I would have to lower the kick down pressure setting on the two stage pump. I didn’t have to change anything.
The engine performed perfect. I received the engine with a dented fuel tank from shipping. Tool-Max sent out a new tank without any problem.
I have owned mine for almost 5 years, but just started using it in the last month. I’m temporarily using it to replace the trusty but tired old Kohler K181 in a 1971 John Deere 110 lawn & garden tractor.
To make it fit without modifying the tractor chassis, I had to use square steel tubing to raise the engine about an inch, and also had to make an extension to raise the end of the PTO clutch lever about 3 inches.
I can’t use the hood or front grill and frame without mods, so that’s why it’s just a temporary engine. Starting: It always starts quickly, but like another reviewer stated, it has to be choked every time, even when fully warmed up.
Power: Going from 8 HP to 16 is a shock to begin with, but this thing is a torque monster at just about any speed above an idle. The governor is very stable, and works quickly. It is hard to kill this engine, and it throws that heavy old Deere around like it’s a stamped sheet metal lightweight.
That’s another reason I want to replace it – the tractor’s drive system probably wasn’t built for this much power. Fuel economy: Pretty good, considering the weight of the tractor and the size of the engine.
Durability: Too early to tell. I did get some rust in the fuel tank because I forgot and left it with E-10 in it for several months. Fortunately I ran the carb dry before shutting it down. I’m using the original Deere tank anyway.
Smoothness and quietness: Apparently, as shown in the parts list, it doesn’t use a balance shaft, and it does seem to vibrate a fair amount. Noise-wise, it’s fair – noisier than most twins, but about average for big singles.
Neither of those things bother me. I just use ear plugs, and accept the fact that my kiester might tingle some after a couple of hours of mowing. My plan is to use it with a belt-driven generator head, and it should have no trouble handling that job.
I think it would also make a great kart engine. I would highly recommend it.

Bought this for my sawmill band saw. The good. it’s a lot of HP for the money. Much better than the stock 8hp motor I replaced. The bad. Very poor packaging, the cheap box and foam fell apart during shipping, casuing the pull starter cover to become very dented.
Also, there was no wiring instructions. The starter key box assembly was not installed so I had to spend 2 hours trying to figure out how to wire the starter / battery. I searched the internet with no luck trying to find a wiring diagram.
I found MANY other complaints about the same problem. UNRESOLVED: The engine wont cut off with the key. Its starts normal with the key, or with starter cord, but the engine cannot be cut off with the key.
I have to use the choke to kill the engine. I emailed Maxtool about this last week, but got no response. So I am writing this review as I sit on hold calling their support line.

I’m 6’4″. You can get into this kart at that height but it’s not comfortable. I will put that fact aside as those were the genetic cards I was dealt and not the fault of the kart but if you’re 6 foot or taller you may be eating your knees once seated on this.
Anyway, this is clearly for tweens and teens! Perfectly suited for both. Max weight capacity is 330lbs. I like that it’s speed is proportionally “geared” by modes. (1) Slow mode up to 6MPH, (2) medium mode 9MPH, and (3) fast mode gets you to 15MPH if you’re light enough.
The fast mode seems fast at first but you quickly get used to it and wish for a little more speed. The kart comes fully assembled which is great. Its a heavy package and delivered on a wooden pallet.
For assembly, all you need to do is adjust the riding size, tweak the steering wheel a little, and charge the battery. Our initial first charge took about 6 hours but you must charge up fully before you ride it to keep from damaging the battery cells.
Once charged up, it runs for about 20 to 25 min before it’s back to the charger for another 5-6 hours. I’m sure a lighter person with less of a lead foot could get better results but not that much better.
Its rated for 15. 5 mile range and we were getting around 6 to 7 miles range on flat ground while not going over 10MPH. Can this go off road? Yes, but just flat dirt really. High grass is gonna stop you completely and trails are out as that is not what this is intended for anyway.
The riding height of the cart makes it perfect for sidewalks, boardwalks, and parking lots. I would strongly advise not riding this on the streets at all as there are no lights on the kart and no way for cars to see you.
A flag would be nice but I could see how including a flag may give the wrong impression to the buyer that its ok to shoot down the road real quick to access the parking lot to ride. The kart does stow away fairly nice in a car as the frame length can be adjusted to fit in most cars trunk space.
I had no problem fitting it in my Wrangler. While it’s heavy at about 70lbs its really more cumbersome than it is heavy. Although I was able to lift it in by myself, I would recommend getting help when lifting it into a vehicle.
The build quality is fine. Only a few issues with the fit and finish of the frame adjustment lock. I feel like it may break over time. Replacement tires may be hard to source and install down the road.
From the kids to the adults everybody in the family was excited to take this Hover 1 Formula Electric GoKart out of the box. The go kart comes fully assembled out of the box but it does require you to charge it for a few hours to get the battery fully charged before your first use.
The charging port is hard to locate if you look at the manual so it may be better to lift it up to locate the port the first time. It would have been better if the plug in point was located on top but this may be a cost savings decision.
Initial impressions on build quality is that it does not seem very sturdy however it is understandable that the plastic parts are lightweight in order to maximize range. It also would have been nice if the rear brake lights were simple led brake lights for more visibility and safety.
The go kart is rated to go a max speed of 15mph with a total range of 15. 5 miles. The max operator with is 330lb but rest assured you will not get to the max speed of 15mph and your total range and run-time will be reduced.
The go kart is powered on by pressing a button on the steering wheel. The lcd display screen on the steering wheel show you the battery range speed and which mode your are on. There are 3 modes that limit speeds to 6,9 and 15 mph.
The max speed of 15 mph is not too fast however I would start it on the lowest level for the younger kids so they can get used to it. Adjusting the length is fairly easy for taller riders however you have to make sure the notch is locked in properly so it does not adjust while driving.
This go kart is not intended to ride in the street nor is it street legal so make sure the kids drive it in a wide open area that is clear of traffic. The 15. 5 mile range does seem feasible if you are not maxing out the weight but I would say it will give you plenty of fun driving time between charges if you are doing short runs.
Overall Hover 1 put together a great electric go kart that is fun for all ages. Hover 1 could have increased build quality a little but in all fairness it is great for the price you pay.

3 stars for complete lack of communication after the purchase. I ordered and paid for 2 gokart pros and got a confirmation and that was it. 2 and half weeks went by with out receiving any update. Called them after the first week and they said it was “processing” to keep waiting.
Called week 2 to cancel. they said i couldnt because it was still processing, but they would submit a request. 3 days later they arrived in boxes that looked like they were dropped from an airplane. HOWEVER, the GOKARTS were unharmed and A BLAST!!!!!!! Setup took about 20 minutes for each gokart.
Thats including reading the manual. The Go karts are VERY well built. My daughter accidentally hit a speedbump and actually got some air and the gokart was perfectly fine. THEYRE fast!! even with heavier people.
On Track mode(23mph) I (175lbs 5’11”) get about a solid 30 to 45 minutes of battery time. My kids (70lbs & 45lbs) get over 2hours. On sports mode (17mph) Iget almost 2 hours and my kids can get 4 or more! The gokarts are extremely capable.
my wife and i and the kids love them! The neighborhood kids always get excited when they see us and yell “Mario kart!!!” hurry up and buy them just be prepared for garbage customer service.
I bought 2 of these cars from 2 different retailers. Best Buy is not the issue. The car has 2 potential problems either the battery will stop charging or the electronics in the front of the car will stop connecting, disabling the car.
This is happening to both my cars. The biggest problem is Segway will not help with this issue. They require the entire car to be shipped to them costing 350. 00 to ship and you have to pack it. You may not have this issue until we’ll after your return policy.

i bought this to ride in the summer and its extremely fun. I am a 5’7 200 pound adult who can ride this gokart without any issues. Keep in mind this gokart kit is just a kit, it doesnt include the rear wheels.
You need to buy the rear wheels which are either the ninebot s or ninebot minipro (older model not sold anymore), nothing else, for this gokart to work. The wheels strap onto the back and after a quick set up process on your cellphone, its ready to go.
It can fit in my sedan trunk collapsed but you need to use the included allen wrench to make the extension bar slide and smaller, since to gokart is adjustable and lower the steering column, its pretty easy.
My friends have it too and its really fun. You will get an hour of fun atleast with a full charge going the full speed (15mph). Remember to let it cool after use before trying to charge or it wont charge as a safety precaution.
I would recommend getting the bestbuy 2 year geek squad warranty on both the gokart and the ninebot s because with rough use things can break. Plus people on forums report issue with battery life after a year.
Regardless this is a fun gokart for kids and adults. The app lets you limit the speed the gokart goes so you can control how fast your kid goes and turn it to full speed when you ride.
Great product, well built and incredibly fun. There are a few caveats that is worth pointing out before buying though: 1) The pairing process is quite painful. Keep in mind to pair the Go-Kart mode and the Hoverboard mode as separate devices.
The app implies it should be the one device that can change modes but the pairing system doesn’t work this way. 2) The kit does NOT come with the bluetooth speaker that many YouTube video reviews claim (I’m looking at you, Linus Tech Tips).

Used this engine to replace the stock Coleman engine. With a few mods such as, removing the large red throttle plastic handle, swapping exhaust housings, (needed the stock 90 deg cover to keep fender from melting) loosening the throttle linkage, clocking the recoil start housing a few deg, buying a new 3/4 centrifugal clutch and larger crankshaft/jackshaft mounting bolts (5/16X24 fine) it bolted right in.
After filling oil/gas, I was pleasantly surprised at the torque this engine put out and how it fired up on the 3rd pull. Runs great and my daughter is happy! I will be swapping over the flywheel and lighting coils from the old engine as it looks like they’ll fit.
I’ll also have to swap the kill switch wiring from what’s on this engine to match the stock handlebar mounted switch. Bottom line: This is a great little engine, everything runs as it should and has a nice price point!.
Well it came with plenty of extras, thinking high elevation jets. Does it have more power,. Yes. The muffler doesn’t seem as quiet as the stock 212. Seems a little obnoxious. And they moved the muffler studs a few mm on center so the 212/6.
5 hp. Muffler won’t fit without some “rigging” intake is different and figure nothing from the base level 6. 5 this was cloned from will fit at this point. So for that I’m docking a star. I would dock 3 stars but that would be a jerk.
In the end this is a mild stroker by 3mm. To the 212. It does have noticeable more power. The 6. 5 I run 3-3/4” pulley on compressor. This 6. 6 I’m running a 4-1/2” pulley on same compressor and it could probably pull more.
I was Not pushing the 6. 5 so it’s not a mountain of difference but enough to note and confidently say so. I’m just ?!$$3d nothing fits from the 212. No spare parts. Oh well. For the money I would buy again.
I bought this to replace a tecumpsa 6 horse on my yard machine rear tine tiller. The old engine had less than 10 hours but in tecumpsa fashion the carb was a pig. I got sick of working on it more than using it.
This engine matched perfectly right to the tapped holes in the block for the belt guard mount. I did have to come up with a spacer to fill the gap between the end of the shaft and the original pulley.
I had that in my old parts box. All in all this conversion cost 8 bucks in hardware plus the engine which I caught on sale for 159. I also had to take a ball peen hammer and beat the metal out a bit on the belt guard because of the longer pto shaft.

by 6 in. rectangle. I didn’t have to redrill holes in the base of the edger to move the engine a 1/2 in. in any direction. I didn’t need to add spacers to increase its height. The only thing I had to modify were holes in my old belt shield: their centers needed to be about 3/16 in.
wider, but the old bolts fit the threaded holes in the new engine. After adding oil and gas and a gentle pull or two the engine started easily. Be careful of the muffler it gets hot, and it is in a different spot then my old engine.
I burned my arm on it by reaching over the engine to tighten the bolt that holds the front wheel on. Improvement suggestion: paint the muffler with something that changes color when hot.

I purchased this engine with the intent of putting it on a garden tractor. I would replace a 14HP horizontal shaft engine. I really felt this would be a good engine and it looked really good. Unfortunately for me there were several items that attached to the engine in order to make the tractor work that would have taken a lot of machining to modify to fit the engine.
Also, some other attachment parts would have required some fabrication and welding. My customer did not want to pay for that extra work. The only other issue that i found that surprised me was that there was no place to attach the choke cable from the tractor.
They had a remote attachment for the throttle cable but nothing for the choke. I could have drilled a hole in the plastic engine choke actuator but really didn’t feel this would hold up long. This is the only thing that I found on the engine that was a surprise.
I have used the 24 HP engines before and have had great luck with them, and they are equipped with remote cable attachment points for both the throttle and the choke. So, this surprised me. Anyway, other than that it looks like a great engine.
I will say that i was more than pleased with the return policy. I had not put oil nor gas in the engine. i had not even removed it from the shipping plank and they gave me a full refund. I believe this is a great store and the people here in the Decatur Il.
I bought the predator 459cc to replace a tired 20ish year old Honda gx390 on my 13inch stump grinder for no other reason than I wanted more power. The 459cc delivered. Now my stump grinder is nearly unstoppable.
The predator electric start is nice seeing how I don’t think I can pull start it because it has so much compression. Fuel consumption is about the same or better than the old gx390 since the predator comes with carburetor jets appropriate for your operating environment.
Excellent powerful motor. Easy to set up. Reasonably easy to change rotation direction. Needs better cooling if using for full power – it overheated after about 5 minutes powering a 20 ton canal boat! May be fine in a more exposed location with air passing over it.
Although lacking a little in information, just a simple diagram that is not 100% accurate, it arrived well packed and in quick time. Set the unit up and worked straight away. the motor seems well made.
cna get just over 4500rpm, using it in a project that I am developing, and I think it will do just great. Will probably be buying another one soon.

I had previously built minibikes with the Predator 212 and 224 and saw a YouTube video where a 301 was installed in a CT200U-EX frame. Since I already had that frame and was more than pleased with the performance and durability of the 212 and 224, I had to have a big block in my next build.
It took some time for my local HF store to get a 301 Hemi (it had to be a hemi), but when one came in I immediately snagged it. Just like the video, the 301 squeezed into the frame after stock air cleaner and exhaust was removed.
I had to remove the side cover to trim the rear oil plug for clearance and was impressed with the rugged block of the 301. This thing is built like a tank. Once installed and oiled and gassed up, the 301 started on second pull.
I was immediately impressed with the smooth idle and minimum vibration when revving the engine. During my test rides the torque of the 301 exceeded my expectations. Since I’m a fanatic about proper break in procedures, I have limited the rpms of the 301 but easily hit 40 mph without exceeding break in revs.
I think this will be a monster once broken in. As with the other Predator engines, I’m expecting a long service life with the 301. I’ve included a pic of the fully built stage 3 Predator 224 that revs to 6,500 rpm at over 60 mph.
If you’re looking for impressive torque and power in a single cylinder engine, I highly recommend the Predator 301 Hemi.
Purchased to replace a broken B&S engine on my old DR lawn & leaf vac, at half their price and significantly more power. Shaft diameter, key way, and length was just right. Took some modification on my old frame to mount the engine properly, but it works great, and the resulting vacuum suction is terrific.
The engine started on first pull. Brand new install, so I can’t comment on durability. Oil fill ports are low down and nearly impossible to access without a long-stem funnel. It would be nice to have an oil fill tube extending to the top of the engine, but that’s a minor complaint.
Overall, highly satisfied and recommended, pending more use with it.
The original Robin engine on my log splitter ran good when it wanted to, but would lose spark, even after a new coil. I believe the Robin had a weak flywheel magnet. A new flywheel would have cost nearly as much as this Predator engine, and I was tired of messing with it.
This engine bolted right in after cutting the shaft to mate to the pump on my log splitter. I can’t speak to long term reliability yet, but I did install an hour meter with the new motor. It starts easy, usually in one pull, and is reasonably quiet during operation.
Power is very good, even at lower RPMs. Hope this lasts a long time with proper maintenance.

I left my first negative review of this company in March of 2020. My update is as of January 2021 I still have not received my engine, nor have I been refunded my money. Yes I have emailed and emailed and emailed and the engine while still for sale on their website seems to be on backorder.
I would highly advise anyone considering making a purchase to find a different vendor as this company is aweful. I can not be convinced that they are “doing all they can” for me. Tired of waiting. will begin leaving weekly negative reviews until this has been resolved!.
The Lifan engine with 6:1 gearbox is a great engine for my use. I use them in a small racing car class for kids. The engines are, in my opinion, on the better end of the quality scale, than some other similar engines I have used.
I have had three running last year and will have three more this year.
Everything brand new for a great price. There was a small dent in gas tank but most likely happened in shipping. My application didn’t need the tank no big deal. The shipping package was well made with wood liners.

I am now on my second one after purchasing an extended warranty through Walmart. The second one after already replacing a bad battery once has failed as well again. So to total it up Purchased first one 10/2020 broke by 12/2020.
Got replacement 1/2021 and now 9/2021 second one broken again. You call Razor customer service during their working hours and they say they are closed or phone goes dead. Do no waste your money as from what I can see it will only last about on average 6 months.
All I got out of it was a very disappointed 9 yr old. Shame too, as when the thing did work it was pretty cool. Razor you lost a customer.
So I purchased 2 of these for Christmas. My kids love them. So does everyone else that sees them in action. Very disappointed though that one isn’t working any longer and what is more disappointing is that warranty is only 90 days.
Never have I heard such things. So I now have to pay out of pocket for it to work. hopefully it will work. These things are in my opinion Very expensive and to have 90 days only is unacceptable.
Our 8 year old son absolutely LOVED this go-cart. Santa left it for him and was so kind to charge it under the tree all night. He woke up Christmas morning and it ran for about an hour. Then having to charge it again, we were unsure if required an additional 12 hours, charged it for about 4 hours and it ran maybe a few feet- then died.
However, the green charge light was indicating fully charged. We then charged it again all night and woke up this morning showing a fully charged battery, and he was super stoked to drive this thing again.
unfortunately, it barely made it down the sidewalk. With his head in his hands, he was crushed! And as a parent, you are too. You just want to see your kids enjoy their Christmas gifts- especially paying this kind of money! He then said, that this was a “piece of junk”.
Not sure if it was just this specific car – a lemon, or if all are mostly like this. We called guest services at Target and spoke with Christine. She said that we would be able to return the item. Unfortunately, they are out of stock.
I am concerned that I will not receive the discounted rate that I was given when purchasing this after Thanksgiving. She said that she would note in our account that when the item becomes available, that we would receive the rate when we originally purchased it.
I hope that this is in fact true. As it was a special of 25% off of 1 toy and then our red card of 5%. If we are able to receive a new one that works for a normal amount of time, I will change my amount of stars.

32 ton Husky Log Splitter needed a new engine (had a Tecumseh). This engine worked perfectly I just needed a Pump Mount for Hydraulic Log Splitter 8hp-15hp so I could mount the pump to the side shaft (it was vertical before).
I have been splitting daily for 2 years now and it has always started and ran perfectly while providing all the power I need to split even the largest gnarliest Hard Woods. I used an old Toyota Corolla muffler mounted to a straight pipe.
I maintain religiously and always use VP gas treatment to keep the gas fresh and ethanol at bay. I would advise you to throw out the sparkplug that comes with it and put in an NGK. Other than that zero complaints- buy it!!.

It’s a super cheap motorcycle battery. As a matter of fact it was the cheapest option for my purpose. Since I was selling my scooter it didn’t matter anyway. It worked good for the short time I had it but I expect an early death out of it.

Installed this and the kit along with a Super 30-70 CVT from gopowersports with a 10 tooth driver and 50 tooth driven sprocket on my new Coleman BT 200X mini bike. 40mph right out of the box! The carburetor could be better so I ordered a NIBBI 24mm carb as it has way better response and allows me to get the jetting right with the NIBBI jetting kit at my altitude.
I bought the $60. 00 2 year warranty for this engine which makes this purchase the smartest investment I could make seeing as gas prices will continue to climb all summer. I drive this bike to work every day.
I’m a mechanic so take my advice and change your break in oil after 10 hours, then every 70 hours thereafter and be sure to order a magnetic oil fill dipstick to catch the metal debris. These engines produce metal debris and is normal.
Just keep up with oil changes and everything will be fine.
There is already classes popping up at local Saturday night kart tracks for this engine. HF has stores accessible to most of the country so they will be able to do what Briggs couldn’t do for the LO206.
I did some flow testing on the carb and several runs on the dyno. Very nice torque numbers right out of the box. The curve was smooth with no dips. Carb flows very well and was tuned perfectly for racing.
Rock solid out of the box. Turn it about 5,500 to 5,800 and this will be a beast out of the corners. Great low end torque. If HF keeps these stocked this class will take off across the country. The nation wide availability, affordable price, and great power in a dependable engine format will hopefully help this engine become a budget karting platform across the country.
Out of the box it is a peppy little engine with need for very little modification. Replaced the carburetor with a Mikuni and intake manifold, billet flywheel and backing plate, tossed the coil for a non rev limiter one and of course-added a header and fuel tank.
For the price-you can’t beat it even with adding the mods. It has decent power out of the box and like the base model Predator 212 it can easily be built up-depending how far you want to take it. My opinion; change the flywheel, backing plate for safety along with a non rev limiting coil for some substantial gains.
For me it was a good purchase at a discounted price. The quality over all is decent and what I changed would have been changed anyway.

I needed a replacement engine for my wood chipper and the kohlers are awesome. My order arrived in a few days with No damage and it bolted right up. Filled it with fuel and oil and after a few pulls it sprang to life.
I tested it out on a few branches and no problems at all. The real test will come after I take down all the trees once the leaves are gone. Should be a pretty sizable pile of mulch when I’m through.
I own the County line 25ton splitter with this exact engine. If there is gasoline in crankcase oil your float needle in carburetor bowl was stuck open. It will do same thing on any brand small engine.
Turning fuel tank valve off after use would have prevented this. Checking engine oil before each use would have prevented damage especially after noticing white smoke from exhaust. To correct, remove carb bowl and float (and float needle), clean parts & reinstall needle and float assy.
Then ensure float needle moves freely and doesn’t stick. I have been working on small engines since the early 1970’s.

Beware of a â€œgood dealâ€. The fabrication on the roll cage is very poor. So much that we had to remove paint and enlarge some holes to get a couple of pieces to fit. But, the side bars do not fit at all.
We will need to bend them ourselves to get them to fit. Customer service just sends me videos and tells me to pre-install them. Already done all of that-this is clearly a manufacturing issue and I canâ€™t get any help from them.
I just think for the price I should get the fully functioning product that wonâ€™t crush my kids arm if she rolls the thing.
