20 Best Glue For Vinyl Flooring Repair
1. Permatex 80050 3 oz Clear Silicone Adhesive Sealant
This product works excellent on convertible tops! I always desire convertibles, but after owning one for a couple of months, I sell them, get annoyed, buy another and repeat this process too many times according to my wife.
I always seem to find great deals on convertibles, until I keep discovering that they all have the same issue. leaking from rear window. This stuff works perfectly!!! A few tips I’ve learned over the years, tape off the window and top to prevent (as much as possible that is) messy overlapping on top and windows.
Also, I use a blow up mattress to press on the inside window to create a tight seal. Nevertheless, great stuff, never had leaks, but then again, I don’t keep them for more than a half year, so who knows long term.
Permatex has and will always be my “go to” for sealing up an engine. Whether I’m working on a motorcycle or automobile they always have what I need and a great product. Just did a timing belt on the old 1999 Honda Civic with 235k miles and oil pan gasket while I was down there, permatex is what I used where needed on the engine and it got us safely to and back from Justin TX and we live in Ada,OK.
Thats a five hour round trip with a fuel/leg stretch stop. Thanks permatex for the peace of mind and autozone for the parts and products keeping this old car kicking. By the way we got 35/36 miles per gallon average, I topped the car off and reset the trip meter and divided it by the gallons it took to refill the car.
More accurate in my opinion than the modern day on board computers that try to calculate to many variables.
There are times when “black” colored silicone adhesive or sealant is nice to have. There are not many brands of black colored silicone in a tube out there, and Permatex is probably the best of those.
With regard to the adhesion and “texture” of the product once set, I can only compare it to the GE Silicone which works so well. I think the GE Silicone II is top notch: Dries firm yet pliable and has excellent adhesion.
This Permatex product, not as much. I have found that while it is a good sealer where a black silicone is needed, it is not a “great” sealer as it can be a little runny, a thinner viscosity than the clear GE Silicone, and takes seemingly long to dry.
I also had a project “pull apart” using the Permatex only to re-do it with GE Silicone II to achieve satisfactory results. The “rare” black color earns it credit. But the dry time, inconsistent setting up and lack of finished pliability knocks it down.
Overall, 4 stars although I wish it were worthy of a 5th star.
Our flagship product, Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive, is a waterproof universal glue. It is highly versatile in all areas but is particularly useful in repairs to outdoor-wear and water sports equipment due to being flexible and extremely tough when cured.
Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive bonds to virtually all surfaces including neoprene, rubber, leather, PVC, polyurethane, breathable and coated fabrics, wood, metal and more. It is ideal for repairing cracks in wellington boots, loose soles, leaks in waders, rips in wetsuits, damaged horse rugs, holes in tents and much more.
DIRECTIONS Using at room temperature. Clean the damaged area (sand the surface for best adhesion). Apply a generous amount of Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive to the damaged area, leaving at least a 5mm excess around it.
I bought this glue to repair a pair of favourite shoes where the heals had worn down. If you go to the Stormsure website, you can watch their video. But do NOT follow their instructions! Using brown tape to create a trough to pore the glue in to does not work well because the glue tends to leak through.
Use Bluetack to create a trough which results in a much better seal. Also depending on the depth of rubber that you are trying to build up, it can literally take days to set (you could try applying in thinner layers, but i did not try this).
Having said all of that, the end result works and will give your older shoes a new lease of life. Also avoid decent shoes ending up in landfill. Good luck!.
Absolutely love this product. Bought the black Stormsure to repair various items. A little goes a long way and I leave it overnight to cure. I am as happy as a lark! Have previously tried gorilla, super glue but this one works the best.
Two pairs of thermal wellies to repair and I was on the verge of spending money on replacements until I came across this product. Followed the YouTube guidance/instructions and the repair is fantastic – worn a number of times since and holding up brilliantly.
Both were splits one 75mm long (photo) the other 50mm. Obviously its not the prettiest of repairs – but it is quite inconspicuous and in any case they are functional thermal boots not fashion statements! I opted for the clear colour as one pair green one pair black.
Lineco acid-free adhesive has excellent lay-flat properties and dries clear. Easy to use polyvinyl acetate (PVA) formula is fast setting and re-moistenable with water. This adhesive was formulated specifically for preservation materials and will not become brittle with age.
Adheres to most porous surfaces. Take advantage of the lower cost on gallon containers of adhesives. Now you can use the rugged, reusable plastic pump to dispense small quantities of glue from gallon containers.
No more drips, spills, or sticky messes to clean up. This pH neutral PVA formula adhesive is perfect for collages, adhering mats and bookbinding. Quick setting and excellent lay flat properties. Will not become brittle with age and can be remoistened with water.
I have used this adhesive on a wide range of mediums (papers, thin plastics, cardboard, fabric, photographic film, metals (I recommend experimenting first with some of these)) and been very pleased with its performance.
It sets up fairly fast ( approximately twice as fast as regular white glue) making it useful to tack things together quickly. It is stronger that I had imagined; I glued a glass jewelers loupe to a metal surface that hangs on a wall so the loupe is cantilevered and it is still holding after 4 years (I cleaned the surfaces very thoroughly prior to attaching).
It cleans up easily with water and has very minimal odor. It stays flexible after drying-nice for fabric arts.
I was very sad about my Bible falling apart. I looked on line on how to fix book bindings. After seeing the DIY videos I went ahead and purchased this product. The videos gave me the confidence to repair the Bible myself.
The results are amazing. The Bible is in good shape now and is not in pieces. Ready for several more faithful years.
After years of use, our Dungeons & Dragons rulebooks were disintegrating into dozens of individual clumps of pages. We couldn’t find any PVA glue at local stores, so we ordered this stuff, which was reasonably priced and arrived quickly.
Sure enough, it did the trick. After a full day of drying time, our books are now whole once again and have stood up to all the page-flipping we have dealt out since. We haven’t tried any other brand of bookbinding glue, so can’t say how this compares to other brands, but it definitely works.
Provides adhesion strength and versatility not found in silicones and rubber cements. Its strength in adhering metals, glass, rubber, and plastics makes it a universal vehicle maintenance and repair solution.
Self-leveling, E6000 may be used as potting material in electrical and computer applications. No. 230022: Color: Clear, Pkg Qty: 1.
works great! I use it for jewelry, crafts & heavy objects. So far so issues, but do recommend checking your crafts stores for it. Must cheaper I learned, bought on amazon small bottles. Then bought on her thinking for the big one was a great deal.
Then later on learned that it was half the price in my local craft store. O well, still a great product to use over hot glue gun n super glue!.
A True Quick Fix Settles in just under 15 seconds this glue is the epitome of easy. Gently apply a small amount of our Instant Glue and watch the magic happen. Our well balanced thin viscosity offers more control to the user while still giving you a nice even flow to get the job done right without the mess or hassle.
Shoe Goo is a superior adhesive and sealant that easily and permanently repairs all types of footwear. Use Shoe Goo to mend rubber soles, tears in canvas or leather tops or to stop shoe laces from fraying.
Dries to a waterproof, flexible rubber, so it will repair waders and boots without breaking or cracking.
I am an associate who recommends Shoe Goo based on personal use since college when I first used it to fill west spots on my shoes from dragging my toe while playing tennis. It extended the life of the shoe.
I also used it to build up the sole on running shoes from wear. Since then, I’ve always had a tube around for repair of shoes and many other things rubber, leather or the like. Yesterday I fixed this pair of Merrill boots (Moab waterproof) which I also recommend.
The boots are nearly 2 years old, get worn 5 days a week in a job with high moisture environment. The sole began to separate. Shoe Goo did the job.
I have used Shoe Goo for decades for restoring the worn or loosened soles on my walking shoes and hiking boots. Black Shoe Goo is better-looking on black soles than clear Shoe Goo. The Goo always adheres perfectly with no special preparation to the sole.
I apply blue painter’s tape around the edge of the sole to give a nice square edge. The tape comes off best if removed between one to two hours time. The Goo wears more quickly than original sole material, but it’s reasonably durable.
It does leave big scuff marks on vinyl flooring. I remove these by standing on the scuff marks with an old terry wash cloth or towel underfoot and doing the “twist” with all of my weight on one foot.
I prefer this to using solvents like Goof Off, which also work. Zoro shipped the Shoe Goo to me the next day. That’s fast! I had a web site ordering glitch and had to call customer service to stop accidental multiple orders.
The service rep was very helpful, even contacting PayPal to stop multiple charges to my PayPal account.
My purchase was based on researching some internet reviews. It works as long as instructions are followed. Was able to glue a delaminated rubber sole from the upper assembly of my wife’s shoe. I uploaded a photo of the glue on my Facebook page and a friend who saw the photo informed tha he used this glue in high school in the early 1970’s to fix his tennis shoes.
Clean the nozzle and wipe a thin coat of petroleum jelly on the threads of the nozzle to prevent seizure of the cap to the nozzle. The glue is recommended if the material of your footwear is compatible.
Shoe GOO is specially designed to repair, seal and stick to a wide variety of materials with superior strength. The unique formula contains is designed for strong abrasion resistance and better adhesion to flexible materials.
It’s ideal for repairing worn soles, coating shoes to prevent premature wear and sealing galoshes, waders or rubber boots. Use on plastic, metal, leather, vinyl, rubber and canvas.

10. Titebond 1414 III Ultimate Wood Glue 16 Oz.
Provide a much stronger bond than the wood itself
Offer excellent heat-resistance and are very easy to sand
Are water cleanup while still wet
Provide strong initial tack and a 30-minute clamp time
From Franklin of USA, described as an APP (Advanced Proprietary Polymer), Titebond III has been formulated as a dedicated wood glue to give you the ease of application of aliphatic/PVAs and the water resistance of polyurethane glues.
Making an exceptionally strong bond on wood-to-wood joints, it has longer open time and higher viscosity than conventional PVAs and will maintain integrity at lower application temperatures. All of which makes for easier and less fraught assembly procedures.
Polyurethane glue has undoubted flexibility of use and massive strength but is a very persistent adhesive, difficult to clean up from equipment and particularly hands. Titebond III has been designed to give you the strength of wood-to-wood bonds without the problems.
It cleans up with water whilst wet, sands off without softening when fully cured, is unaffected by finishes, solvent and heat and is mildew resistant. It is suitable for interior and exterior use. Please shake bottle well before use.
Titebond III Ultimate wood glue has been independently tested for lead, cadmium and other metals under ASTM F963 and 16 CFR 1303 (total lead content). These are the testing methods specified for toy safety under the U.
S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. It has also reviewed by an independent toxicologist and conforms to ASTM D4236 for art and craft materials.
White Gorilla Tape is 3X stronger for a hold that lasts. Made with double-thick adhesive, strong reinforced backing, a tough all-weather shell and UV resistance to prevent yellowing. This duct tape is great for projects and repairs both indoors and out.
White Gorilla tape sticks to smooth, rough and uneven surfaces, including wood, stone, stucco, brick, metal and vinyl.
This tape is Super strong. Id say this is the strongest on the market and a very well made product of this kind of tape available. It Can be used for so many different applications and I always like to have a roll in the home as you will always find a use for it eventually.
Its a decent width at 5cm and At 11 metre in length around 33 feet for us older folks you get a good amount for your money. Ive used cheaper although not by much and the quality in comparison to this stuff is on a different scale.
This is super strong in regards stickiness and has a thickness to it unlike cheaper versions. Be very careful not to make the mistake I made of cutting a length off and resting the edge on any painted surface similar to what you do when taping parcels.
In my case it was on our painted window sill as it takes the paint clean off as its that strong. It can be used for all sorts of things even split hose pipes. Having a cat I get a piece to take the hairs off my black backed cushions etc even works out cheaper than those rollers.
If repairing a hose obviously it has to be dry but once applied water shouldnt affect its adherence. Gorilla branded products I find to be the best and for whatever your reason even if its just to have a roll on standby you cannot go wrong with this product.
The price is great and as I said above in cheaper stores its not that much cheaper for a weaker tape. Its a excellent buy at this price. And a very happy customer.
I needed some duct tape and ran across this. I bought it because I had heard that Gorilla products were good. What I had heard was right, at least as far as the tape is concerned; haven’t used any other Gorilla products but I will in the future.
This tape is very sticky stuff and very hard to get off the roll (of course, it could just be me since my hands are 73 yrs old and prob aren’t as strong as some). But one thing for sure, once you finally do get it coming off the roll don’t let it get twisted and stuck together ’cause you’ll never get it unstuck from itself.
You might as well cut that strip off and start again. I would definitely recommend this tape 100%.
This tape is expensive for sure, but much better lasting than most other tapes Ive used. It appears to be a combination of three factors1. Its quick thick, so apart from being strong has a thicker spongy layer of adhesive, which appears to attach itself much better to uneven surfaces.
2. The tape doesnt stretch, so although you cant bind things like you can with electrical tape, it doesnt budge either. 3. The glue appears to be very strong. It sticks to your fingers much better than any other tape Ive used.
Awkward at times, but shows how good it is. This roll is 48mm wide, and Ive used it to repair the edge of a bench that was covered in rubber. Its nice and smooth, stuck to the rubber EPDM really well and hasnt even shown the slightest hint of peeling at the edges.
I still use cheaper duct tape for jobs where Im using a lot and being waterproof and strong doesnt really matter, but for durable jobs, this is excellent. Their glue is also worth looking at, especially as it expands when curing.
It fills the gaps on surfaces that dont perfectly match. With the glue and this tape in your work bag, you could probably repair just about anything.
It is acid free, photo safe and does not wrinkle the paper. Cement offers excellent adhesion. Dries to a strong bond. Resists curling, shrinking and staining. Provides an easy solution for adhering photos and detailed cut and paste projects.
I recently installed a new lithium ion battery in an old but excellent Bluetooth speaker. In order to open the speaker housing I had to remove the round rubber pads (“feet”) on the bottom to access several screws that secure an access panel.
The glue that held these rubber pads to the metal speaker bottom is more than 10 years old and needed to be peeled off and replaced with a fresh adhesive. Elmer’s rubber cement turned out to be excellent for this purpose because it, too, can be peeled off and refreshed if I need to open the speaker case again.
This rubber cement has just the right amount of “stick” to secure the rubber pads to the metal speaker bottom, but not so much that the pads can’t be peeled off again to access the screws underneath.
This speaker repair used only a tiny amount of the rubber cement. The bottle has now bveen added to the family crafting equipment for gluing photo paper to other paper and wood surfaces.
I purchased several bottles of Elmer’s Rubber Cement and I highly recommend it when attaching pictures or paper to poster or foam boards for display. This Rubber Cement does not smell and it has a brush applicator that is easy to use.
A little goes a long way. Just make sure the items you are gluing down are fully dry before moving the board to an upright position. My displays are still fully intact and it has been more than three months since I assembled them.
I had purchased two LARGE. bottles of Rubber cement several years ago for a scrapbook I was putting together for my American Legion Auxiliary. I’m their Historian and have been procrastinating for a long time.
Well, I finally got the thing all put together except for several pages and the Rubber Cement that I bought from you several years ago was still perfect and I used both jars of it putting there scrapbook together so I came in and bought om=]ne more bottle and used almost all of it too.
Great product and Office Dep[ort always has whatever I need in office supplies.

Reviews From Real Customers
My kids break too many things. I have repaired toys, Christmas ornaments, cell phone cases, furniture, handheld mirrors, and even new masks they decided to rip the elastic off of. This glue is the best! So much better than using crazy glue, which didn’t always last or do the job.
This glue seems to work on just about anything. Love it! I highly suggest it. I cannot believe how many little things I have repaired within the past year that I other wise would have thrown out.
It is a unique adhesive formulated to meet high performance industrial requirements, making it an exceptional craft adhesive. It is washer and dryer safe and has excellent adhesion to wood, metal, glass, fiberglass, ceramics, leather, fabric, styrofoam, rubber, vinyl and many plastics.
It is acid free when fully cured, making it safe to use for memory books and photo albums.

Glue performance, brilliant, very strong. The only niggle is the size of nozzle. Not being adjustable (or not sufficiently adjustable), it dispenses at a reasonable rate for small jobs, but becomes a struggle for large jobs requiring a faster stream.
Gluing P5 tongue & groove flooring, even with ambient temps around 27deg C allowing the glue to run more freely, I had to squeeze the bottle with such force and for a prolonged period, that it became a torture for my hands.
Maybe I should have cut the nozzle, but then it would not be closable. A simple redesign of the cap would allow improved flow adjustment and closure.
Good waterproof performance where needed but not needed for the majority of applications where indoor/outdoor 502 glue is fine and considerably cheaper. 6 months’ unopened shelf life which is quite short (502 is one year), so will be less once opened.
This is too short for the amounts I use so smaller bottles would be helpful (but this manufacturer doesn’t do them). The same brands are available as 500ml bottles so why not this stuff? Personal experience has shown that the glue is fine after longer periods than the manufacturer states but don’t know if thre’s any performance loss.
Main criticism is that the sesign of the spout on the bottle is too restrictive and tends to block quite easily.
One of the ultimate wood glues. A great waterproof glue. As a boatbuilder I either use D4 or epoxy. However have you seen the price of epoxy, then theres the fact you cant pick it up just round the corner then theres the problem of mixing it.
D4 though is a great glue, the quick hold is a good advantage and so far the hold has been excelkent.

Great for anyone with a project in mind, its fun design means it will inspire any budding young creator!.
I bought this glue using it for sticking card, fabric, decorative trims etc. The nozzle means precision placement of the glue and less mess. The speed to dry and stick is good within 5 mins. So you aren’t having to hold things in places whilst waiting for it to dry.
Only snag was a bit of seeping through fabric so even wend dry you can see on the outside where the glue has been placed.
This is fantastic , its a great price , cheaper than other makes i’ve used. It’s really strong. I used this glue for my paper crafting , it even woked on the metal embellishments i use. Highly recommended , This is now my preferred glue.

This was a purchase instigated by a YouTube crafter. Since her projects were very interesting, the recommendation to purchase was also interesting enough to order this item from the UK. It arrives in a timely manner and has been put to extensive use.
Although a long term evaluation is still in the future, I seems to work very well. The cap seals well and application is neat and without difficulty. The best value appears to the group of three and when this starts to run low, I expect to repeat the purchase.
THIS HAS TO BE MY FAVOURITE GLUE. IT ALLOWS FOR SLIGHT ADJUSTMENT WITHOUT LEAVING A MARK WHEN STICKING DIE CUT PIECES TO CARDS. IT IS STRONG. I HAVE EVEN USED THIS ON PROJECTS USING DIMENSIONAL FLOWERS AND LEAVES WHERE THE USE OF A HOT GLUE GUN IS RECOMMENDED AND THEY HAVE STUCK SECURELY ENOUGH AND A COUPLE OF CARDS (SENT TO AUSTRALIA, IN BOXES), ARRIVED IN PERFECT CONDITION.
IT REMOVES FROM SAUCERS AND HANDS EASILY TOO, SO CANNOT FAULT IT!.
Vinyl flooring is a popular choice for many homeowners due to its durability and easy maintenance. However, like all flooring materials, vinyl flooring can be damaged and will eventually need to be repaired.
When it comes time to repair your vinyl floor, you may be tempted to just use any old glue or adhesive. However, it’s important to use the right kind of glue in order to ensure a successful repair.
The best glue for vinyl flooring repair is a vinyl-specific adhesive. These adhesives are designed to bond well with vinyl and won’t damage the material. They also tend to be stronger than general-purpose adhesives, so they can better handle the weight of vinyl flooring.
When choosing a vinyl-specific adhesive, make sure to get one that is water-resistant, as this will help extend the life of your repair.
Applying vinyl-specific adhesive is fairly straightforward. First, clean the area around the damage to remove any dirt or debris. Next, apply the adhesive to both the vinyl and the subfloor. You’ll want to use a generous amount of adhesive to ensure a strong bond.
Once the adhesive is in place, press the vinyl flooring into place and hold it there for several minutes to allow the adhesive to set.
Once the adhesive has set, you can then proceed with finishing the repair. If the damage was to a tile, you may need to replace the tile. If the damage was to a larger section of vinyl flooring, you can patch it with a piece of vinyl flooring material.
Once the repair is complete, your vinyl floor should be as good as new!.
