20 Best Glow In The Dark Hair Dye (2022 Updated)

So gentle on the hair, the colour (Pink Blush) it’s absolutely stunning, such a cute shade of baby pink. The application was easy, I would even say extremely easy. My friend applied it on me, for the very first time.

We were a tiny bit unprepared and went along with what we had; she applied it with her (gloved) hands. The results was still beautiful. I’d also like to say that like for any semi permanent, there’s literally no point in applying the product on non treated hair; it just won’t stay – but that goes for every semi-permanent, not this one specifically (given the poor reviews).

On unbleached hair, a semi permanent won’t last nowhere near as long as for bleached hair and also it won’t truly colour the hair but it will give them a sort of highlight/sheen/glow effect; my hair had been bleached a month prior, and become a strawberry-blonde shade after many washes that spent my original pink/fuchsia dye.

My stylist is a faithful user of this brand and introduced me to it once I started going to her! I absolutely love this brand and the variation of colors! We have so much fun with the endless possibilities of their color selection and implementing them into my hair.

Not to mention the packaging – so utterly cute! I’m super thankful for this brand of color as it performs insanely well and the vibrancy of the color stays intact for a long time. When I go to the salon, this is always my go to dye and I refuse any other brand at this point – when I’m in the mood for something colorful.

I’ve been wanting to dye my hair this combination for sooo long, I was super hesitant because of how nice my blonde hair was but I’m glad I did cause this hair dye, is so good! This product smells really good the smell isn’t overbearing either; it is also vegan so even better! Took me forever to achieve this look with my sister! But it came out exactly how I wanted it I honestly wasn’t expecting the green to be so bright but I’m in love! The mid of my hair is the color Aquatic the ends is the color, Area 51; I really love the green color! If your looking for a bright green I would highly recommend it; but of course make sure your hair is light enough to take the color in.

I received this product free from Influenster and L’Oréal Paris in exchange for my honest review! To start off, I myself did not get the opportunity to use this dye since I just recently got my hair done, however a good friend allowed me to give her a makeover and boy does she look great! First and foremost I usually do not use box dye products, but this dye surprised me to the fullest! I was pleased to learn that the product was conditioning and came with a tube to strengthen the intensity as well as the “shimmering/highlight” effect.

The dye was quick to setup and processing only took 25 minutes! Likewise, the product did NOT stain skin as badly as it said though I was very careful around the hairline. The dye also was not strong smelling, like most dyes making you lightheaded with ammonia and other chemicals.

I was honestly unsure how the tone was going to come out since my friend had a rather badly toned blonde that was already chemically treated to begin with. But I was very pleased with the results and the tone overall! I definitely could see that shimmery highlighted effect as her hair came out with different tones of violets and blues even! The color is so vibrant and made her hair look very healthy.

Furthermore, the dye came with both conditioning shampoo and conditioner which worked like a charm. Overall I’m really pleased with this, YES BOX DYE and I hope that the color lasts for her. I’ve dyed my hair at least a dozen times, but it’s been a while. I used Féria’s Coral Pink in March without issue, so I thought blue hair sounded fun and picked up Féria’s M10 Cosmic Azure.

I’m not going to knock off any stars for the dye being more dark blueberry on my hair, rather than the more purple blue on the box, because I had previous dye on my hair. But I will dock it all the points for the terrible formula.

It came with a scent ampoule, but that didn’t help. The dye made my eyes water profusely and my husband even commented on it. The dye dripped everywhere in my shower. I was able to clean the tile with bleach and CLR Mold and Mildew, but some of the grout is still blue.

While it was incredibly drippy, it didn’t penetrate hair well at all. I used almost the entire bottle of dye, rubbing it into my hair for 10-15 minutes, then waited another 10-15 while I cleaned blue hair dye out of the shower, and I still have areas where my hair is still brown/coral pink.

I would repeatedly work the dye into my hair and could see it wasn’t penetrating like you’d expect the dye formula to do. I do NOT recommend this dye and am now thinking about a nice, boring dark brown next, maybe not from Féria’s line.

I got this color after a good talk with a rep @ Salon Centric, I wanted a cute color but not too distracting bc of work. She picked this purple for me but I never committed till recently! I got a more blunt mullet and I figured I deff need a color to match the edge and this was insanely pigmented 😻 so glad this was the color she recommended bc it wasn’t muted but also not a neon green scary color.

I was scared it would be more dark but did it anyway and it wasn’t at all it was a super saturated purple …a blueish purple for sure. I went to the beach and it of course took most of the color out BUT it faded nicely and I had about 4 shampoos of decent color after that beach trip! So it deff has lasting power I left it in my hair for an hour – as it faded it became more of a lilac pastel purple 🥰🥰.

I actually used the shade 210 Lavender, but that one isn’t available to review on here. So I took a huge leap of faith, and dyed my hair an “unnatural” color all on my own! My hair was on the dryer side when I decided on undertaking the dye job, and I couldn’t believe how much dye it sucked up.

I actually used two of the packets of 210 Lavender dye on my belly button-length hair, and had none left over. To be honest, I wish I had a third packet to really apply it thoroughly, because I was nervous about running out the whole time.

The dye feels like a conditioning hair mask. I lightened my hair to a bleach blonde almost white months ago and chose just to rock some natural roots with the purple color, so I’m not sure hot well this dye applies to freshly lightened hair.

The dye is pretty forgiving, for anyone that wants to do it themselves. After carefully applying the dye, making sure each strand was fully saturated, and waiting a little over a half hour, I washed out the dye.

When the dye was fully rinsed, my hair texture still felt healthy and didn’t feel overly processed. I found that the color stuck pretty universally, and didn’t experience any areas holding the color better than others.

Does stain hands.

For a back story I am a natural sandy brown and my hair is in a mohawk currently. So I purchased the iroiro neon blue and first I did a bleach kit as I mention darker natural hair as I wanted to get the full effects of the neon.

So bleached first then onto the color. I applied the color and left it on for 45 minutes so that i would get the bright vibrant blue i wanted. 45 minutes later i wash dye out under cold water as warm will fade it, didnt want that.

However I have been dying hair for 20+years so I’m experienced and know what I’m doing. I am almost a week out and I literally look like I used one of the 1q 0 washes dye because I havent washed it yet but it looks as if I’ve pretty much combed it right out.

This is by far the worst hairdye I have ever used. I’ve used numerous brands and numerous different colors and I will never purchase this brand again. I would not recommend it as it does not do what it stands behind.

Worst product ever.

I had this put in by my hair stylist. She did research before buying a green color. This was her first time doing both green and this brand. This is 350 Neon Green. I fell in love almost instantly when the color barely washed out of my hair when rinsing.

It’s so bright and very beautifully pigmented. The fade is absolutely stunning. And definitely is a 2 in 1 color taking less time to do a yellow to green fade in my hair. As it fades naturally. This one is also very UV reactive.

I sat in the sun about 3hrs about 8 days and 1 wash later and it was so nest to see the yellow green color. And then have it turn a darker shade indoors. This is by far my most favorite color I have ever placed in my hair.

I had her do a crown effect to my underlayment. With my natural color on top. And it’s the perfect balance between the 2. It’s been a month and 4 washes later. And I still cannot believe this is my hair now.

Definitely recommended.

I wish I could remember the orange gel that I bought previously as that was brilliant. This one is useless it neither gels the hair or colours it. Had to use regular gel and face paint to achieve the look I was after.

The colors were nice and bright. And they did a decent job of holding hair in place. My only complaint would be that for the price, the tubes should be alot bigger. Tubes are small and doesn’t go far.

I tried a lot of La Riche shades while I was bleaching. They are well pigmented, cheap, have a great selection and would be a good choice if you want more than one colour in your hair. White toner: I didn’t think this really did anything unfortunately and I would have always gone for silver toner Silver toner: was amazinb to lighten to white or beyond to silver etc.

Even though it always looked a bit scary as a bog tub of navy blue. Daffodil: a great bright yellow shade that lasted about 2 weeks before it just looked like brassy blond. This was the colour I always found washed out quickest.

Flamimgo: a lovely pink colour that I usually watered down with conditioner to get a pastel shade which would usually last a month before needing topping up. Carnation pink: this one was a good shade too, though I found it lasted longer than flamingo.

Neon Blue: this was a very dark blue, I didn’t like this as it gave my hair a shiny/cheap wig look unfortunately. It took about 3 months to fade into a nice pastel that i did like- and that was without using any colour protection.

It also wouldn’t fade completely as a semi permanent so I ended up having to grow and cut it out.

I use Fluorescent Glow, Turquoise, Plum and Violet. These give beautiful colours, the yellow is just insane. These dyes are deep conditioning with no nasty smells, and you can leave it on as long as you like, you can dilute with conditioner so you’re in charge of what the colour looks like.

The colours are rich and not streaky at all. There is some initial bleeding of colours, but that soon eases off. With the right maintenance the colours last for a long time. I usually only top mine up once a month, due to chlorine damage, and because I prefer a bright, intense colour rather than a pastelly shade.

I give this an amazing five stars because PRAVANA?????? CHROMO-SILK??? IT MAKES MY HAIR FEEL LIKE FEATHERS!!!!!!! SOFTEST!! I ONLY KNEW That she was using this product brand well product and brand name was when she said it in front of the shampoo bottle I looked over out of curiosity and never forgot this name and I knew it was chroma silk! So I asked her when she finished putting this color which was a violet blind it was just like not purple at all but not exactly blue either very very beautiful color and it was in a light do you know Violet of course not that bold!-not this one, meaning me! LOL.

 BUT THE SIIIIIILKYYYYYYYY IN THIS PRAVANA CHROMA-SILK IS AN EYE-GRABBER!! If I’m in ANY SELF-CARE STORE W/ these kind of name brands/products?? IT’s ALWAYS PRAVANA IM SEEKING!-because my best friend which is my hairdresser I know that any color even brought bright sun shine yellow, or it was sun orange yellow or Sunkist yellow I cannot remember because it did not go on my hair after all LOL but I do remember it’s one of those it was so bright wow! Anyways it turned out very beautiful because this girl skin was almost negative white literally no offense just was a beautiful beautiful milky white skin color!!!! So with this wow bright yellow hair which some people are thinking I know when they look at her hey did you mean to get blonde or yellow because the blonde is yellow after all we know this or a “golden “OK whatever it’s yellow! LOL, I would recommend this and do you recommend this or even ask someone if I am noticing the beauty of their hair have you heard of this so-and-so called product called PRAVANA!!???? So yes that’s what I’ve gotten to now I would recommend this and do recommend this and even bring it up when I think the person is holding this brand and looking into coloring their hair with this or having it colored always it’s very very very rare you’re ever going to see anyone having this product and coloring their own hair with it! Every person I’ve spoken to that is even heard of this brand has only had it done or know someone who has had it done in this brand specifically! I love what it did for my hair and now I’m back to the basics and need superduper help from the one and only… @influenster !!!!.

So I’m going to start by saying that this hair dye is my go-to vivid dyes, they are amazing, all except for the pink. DON’T BUY THE PINK. Seriously, I have no idea why they are all amazing and that one color is such a dud but whatever.

I’ve been doing vivids for over six years now and I have always used Pravana. I was absolutely bummed when they discontinued the Locked-In line because when you are doing multiple colors they can bleed together and the Locked-In prevented that and it was amazing.

I really wish Pravana would bring it back because I know I’m not the only one who appreciated it. Unfortunately I did try the crystal colors and they were absolutely horrible, they left spots that were completely untouched and I had to completely redo my entire head.

The regular vivids are amazeballs though and I will continue to use them.

I’ve been dyeing my hair probably longer than you’ve been alive. Hehe. That said, I’ve tried literally everything, and I can tell you that I always go back to Pravana for bright, semi-permanent color.

It lasts a loooong time, can stain almost everything, but again, it lasts a long time and the colors are true to the tube. Keep the color wheel handy because it all depends on how you mix the color with your existing hair color and if it’s pre-lightened, which is recommended.

I’m usually in the blue ranges when it comes to hair color but will occasionally get out of my comfort zone and do a green or a purple like this one. To get around some of the staining, I make a custom color conditioner with 2/3rds conditioner to 1/3 of Pravana.

I like to use a lighter, color safe conditioner and I use it every third shampoo. This will help the color last even longer even between the time I need to re-bleach my roots. I’ve got an esthetician license and I get mine that way, but I’ve seen it on Amazon.

Read all the reviews though and use the Fakespot browser extension to check review legitimacy. I’ve read that they might be selling fake product, so buyer beware.

💜💙💜💙💜💙💜 if you love color and never want it to come out then iroiro is for you! Honestly love this product. I’m always looking for fun fashion colors that stay longer than a month and this was definitely it.

The blues pinks are for life so use with caution! My hair is very faded now but the whole fade process was actually very pretty compared to other dyes I’ve used. Gonna throw in some purple soon. Careful it does stain.

It’s very conditioning. Always buy more than you need to ensure you fully cover and whatever is left just make a leave in conditioner for touch ups. Definitely will be repurchasing. Price is a bit much but first time purchase online you get 25%off.

This product worked wonderfully. I used L’Oreal colorista for brunettes to make a conditioner to put on my hair first. This is a true burgundy plum on medium brunettes. It came out so red I was impressed.

Not that messy imo. My only regret is that this color looks better when I’m pale in winter. Can’t wait to tone it with a true violet. So far Amika violet toning drops are helping make it a bit less extreme.

Great color payoff, environmentally friendly packaging, minimal damage. I did not put conditioner underneath to open my cuticle for scalp oil. Great technique for oily scalps. Love. Bought this from Sally’s it was affordable.

Easy to stretch too.

Frankly, I don’t understand some of these negative reviews because personally, this has been an extraordinary product for me since I had my level 2 hair bleached for a balayage/ombré and rooty babylight blonde look.

No one wants orangey hues – warm tones are one thing but when it comes to being blonde, neutral or ashy is best. For me? The ashier the better! That being said, I mixed this whole tube with about a 1:1.

5-1:2 ratio with a liquidy white conditioner so that the product would be easier to spread since the dye is a thick cream. I covered all of my hair and realized that I forgot a shower cap and didn’t feel like bothering with plastic wrap so I just put it in a bun and caught up on tv show streaming.

About 40 minutes later I washed it all out and once dry got the results in the image I uploaded of my neutral blonde to the ashy grey silver. Now obviously I can see the dye is way stronger than I initially thought but I love it! My hair was softer than ever and ashy as heck! I’ve since bought the XL tube of this silver and am excited to use it again once a violet colour I have in my hair finishes fading back to blonde.

I may dilute it more though for a less grey and more silver hue. I used this product about two months ago. It lasted me about a full month (15 washes about) before it was more or less back to a neutral mildly ash toned blonde.

That’s an excellent length considering my hair likes to go warm fast AND I wasn’t careful about washing with warm water or anything. I will use this product for the ongoing future now! It’s the best I’ve tried and I’ve tried at least a dozen things for toning or more!.

I have used three different colors from the Pravana Chromasilk vivids line and they are solidified as my number one favorite hair color. Period. This is the brightest, longest lasting hair color brand I have tried, and it is the only hair color brand I will ever use again.

I have used silver, purple, and blue, and all of them are awesome. Although you can put it directly on your hair out of the tube, it’s unnecessary and a complete waste in my opinion. I have fairly long hair, about midway down my back, and I have never needed more than half a tube to get full coverage.

I mix the dye with a whole bottle of conditioner and my hair comes out SUPER vibrant each time (I always use it over white blonde hair, like in the first picture). The product does not smell, applies easily, and lasts FOREVER in comparison to other hair colors.

I think each color is great, but I’ve included pictures of each one after a fresh dye job so you can decide if the color is what you want. Silver: Some people say that the silver is too purple tinted, but I can’t comment on that only because the times I’ve used silver I mix it with the purple to get a steely lavender color, so I’m not sure how it would work on it’s own if you were going for full silver.

The silver fades well, just getting closer and closer to the white blonde underneath over time. The picture in the hat is a silver/purple mix about two-three weeks after dying it. Purple: The purple is BRIGHT.

I originally used a quarter of a bottle of dye mixed with a bottle of conditioner in an attempt to get a pastel purple color and it turned out so vibrantly purple it didn’t look like I diluted it at all! It was still a beautiful color, but just be aware that this color is potent.

If you are looking for something more pastel you will have to dilute it A LOT. Another wonderful aspect of this color is that it fades VERY gracefully. It fades to a very beautiful pastel color and continues to look good until your hair grows out, so I got my lavender hair after a few weeks of washing it with non color protecting shampoo.

When I use this dye for bright purple, it can last about 3 months without looking terrible.

i have quite light blonde hair and this bright neon green was amazing!!! i’ve had it in for about 3 weeks now and it’s still going strong. i would HIGHLY recommend. the colour is exactly the same as the bottle too, so it’s really neon which is exactly what i wanted.

i left the dye in for 2 hours then rinsed with cold water and i’ve been washing my hair maybe twice a week with cold water until a couple days ago because i want the green out so i can dye it blue. overall it’s an amazing hair dye and i definitely recommend!.

I really liked the colour payoff for this, it’s certainly nice and bright and takes to the hair better than you’d expect. I find the product didn’t stretch as far as some others seem to do though. But it was worth the price.

Bought the green and pink and the green is by far the best colour. Its very vibrant and holds well. I can’t say much for the pink tho. I have beach blonde hair and it just took to some spots and was gone by the 1st wash! Wouldn’t buy it again.

Originally when I picked the color off the lime crime website it looked more like a tan neutral almost with subtle hints of peach close to nude color, and then when it arrived and the I swatched it – it was so far from what it looked like on the website? Hence why I usually don’t like purchasing make up mostly “lipsticks” online.

However, I was extremely surprised how beautiful it was with little to no make up on and just very light mascara and lashes and how beautiful it went with my pale skin it wasn’t too dark and it wasn’t too late it’s the perfect shade for any occasion.

I wouldn’t say it’s a nude color, I guess it could be placed in the nude category but I’ve found it had more hues of browns grays purples almost like a very dry it out purple with subtle and when I say subtle I mean very subtle hints of pinks and peaches and just all sorts of colors that I can’t quite point my finger on may be a little bit of a gray but mix those all together and you get this beautiful cashmere color that goes on smooth! I love that it’s a liquid lipstick aka VELVETINE matte (so I know it won’t be coming off on my teeth, clothes, drinks or even when I’m eating greasy foods – THIS HAS STAYED PUT!) I’ll even go as far as saying it lasted one very long passionate date night with my husband 🙊🙈😂 (insert blushing emoji here)  This was actually my second time purchasing this shade, and I would definitely purchase it again and again! Limecrime has great sales from time to time so make sure to look out for that! I think they’ve rebranded their website at showing the exact color on different skin tones and even have multiple lips pictured so you have a better idea how it will look, from when it was just the same pair of lips that was always pictured in every shade! I recommend any of limecrime’s liquid velvetines as they are soft on the lips and go on very smoothly.

Oh my god, I love this stuff so much. I used the jello color for the first time a few months ago. Bleached the ends of my hair til they were a brassy dirty blonde color (natural dark dark dark brown hair) and used gradually less bleach as I worked my way, hoping to get like an ombre type thing.

Anyway, I left the jello color in for about an hour and it was so beautiful! bright green at the ends getting gradually darker all the way up my head. It didn’t do much to the parts i got to a medium brown color, but it’s a vegan dye so i kinda expected that.

There were splotches on the tub but I immediately sprayed them with oxiclean and they came right up. It faded gradually to a pretty light green. Didn’t turn blue like a bunch of other green dyes. After a few months of the light green I switched things up getting the meadow color and I am in love!!! Left it in for 2 hours this time.

really rich beautiful almost emerald green on the bleached parts and it even tinted the unbleached roots of my hair. It has a slight blue ish shine to it but not too much. I am so happy with how it turned out.

If this has the same staying power as the jello color, I won’t have to redo it for over a month (2-3 showers per week). It doesn’t bleed onto furniture or sheets as far as i’ve noticed. Water doesn’t run clean in the shower for a really long time, but I don’t know of an “unnatural” hair color dye where the water DOES run clear for quite awhile.

I would NEVER recommend this dye to anyone. It only gets a star because it smelled nice. I got Sea Witch and it has dyed every surface my hair touches that color if the strand is wet. As soon as any water hits my hair, the color just starts running everywhere.

I just put a little gel in my hair so I could braid it and my scalp has turned green again and so are my hands. My hair has been falling out more than usual after using this dye and all my towels, pillow cases, every surface in my bathroom, the sink at work, they are all covered in little hair strands that turn the counter top green.

It’s infuriating. I get that washing your hair means color will come out, but I’ve NEVER had any other brand wash out like this or turn every surface it touches that color. I will never be buying it again and I’m probably going to take this color out of my hair soon.

I’ve dealt with this for almost 2 weeks and it’s only getting worse. I would not recommend this dye to ANYONE And to put my review up, I have to choose if the product is fair, good, or great and it’s none of those things.

I’ve had this colour for a few years now used with my hair dresser and then during lockdown I was brave to use it myself with help and advice from my hairdresser to do it myself. It’s easy to mix and apply and the colour is just so rich and lots of lovely tones in it, I used the violet on my ends aswell this time and I like how it turned out my hair is originally light brown and the colour always comes out great! Love it definitely recommend.

I love this hair color! I have been using it for 8 years and it really covers the gray. I was having a hard time finding anything that would penetrate my gray hairs, and this did the trick. It lasts around 4 weeks for tough grays, the rest of my color holds up about 6 weeks then it needs refreshing.

It leaves my hair soft and manageable. I would definitely recommend it!.

I’ve been using this product for about 9 years now, I wouldn’t use anything else. It’s vibrant and long lasting. It lightens the hair while it leaves a bright red colour over the hair. I’ve recommended this product to a few friends who also love it.

It’s also very affordable.

This product is top quality, long lasting, and the Magenta colour is gorgeous. It’s not too difficult to remove any excess colour from the skin either. Works best on bleached hair, the lighter the better.

Best brand I’ve ever tried over the past 10 years!.

If you want orange then don’t use this. My hair is neon yellow with a green tinge to it. Not orange at all. Been a week and have washed it several times and even gone over with pink dye to try and tone it to orange and the yellow keeps over powering it.

At this stage I fear I will look like a post-it note for life. Would not recommend the neon orange, the purple from this brand is amazing.

I have medium brown hair and I’ve used artic fox before but it was out of stock everywhere so I tried this for the first time, I can’t see any purple in my hair and I left it on for the maximum time of 40 mins.

It probably will work better on bleached hair but as I said, I’ve used artic fox on my hair before and it came out as a strong dark purple colour but this dye didn’t show up in my hair at all. It was easy to use, I didn’t have to wash my hair beforehand, I applied it to dry hair which I like, I don’t like having to wash my hair before applying dye.
