20 Best Flag Pole Kit Made In Usa (2023 Updated)

In 2005, Graham Cemetery near Orange, VA, asked the Madison Chapter of Sons of Confederate Veterans if we would install a 20′ flagpole next to the Confederate section of the cemetery, and keep a Confederate Flag flying day and night all year long.

Several years ago, a visitor to the cemetery accidentally backed into our flagpole with his vehicle. The flagpole was badly damaged, but we managed to remove the damaged section and shorten the pole.

This worked fine until recently when the flagpole showed that it was time to be replaced. I purchased a 20′ Liberty aluminum telescoping pole and installed it in the same base as the other flagpole. It fit perfectly and looks beautiful.

We have been flying a Confederate Second National Flag on the old pole and now the new one, continuously since 2005. I change it every three months. Not far down the hill from our flag, there is a beautiful United States Flag on a larger pole.

It flies all the time, but has a night light. We plan to get a night light for ours.

After having 2 previous flagpoles snap in half during moderately windy rainstorms, I decided to try your heavy duty 20′ telescoping flagpole and could not be more pleased. I knew immediately when it was removed from the box, that this pole was exceptionally strong & sturdy.

It’s also very attractive, with a beautiful silver satin finish. Following the instructions included with the shipment (also printable online), the pole was easily installed within two days, allowing the concrete to dry completely, so that the ground sleeve would be level and secure.

Old Glory now flies proudly above my home for the entire neighborhood to enjoy, even in strong winds. I also purchased the 39 LED solar powered top light, which enhances the beauty of the flag throughout the night.

Thank you for favorably restoring my opinion of residential flags. Heavy Duty is definitely the key, if you live in an area prone to sudden spontaneous storms that frequently produce strong wind gusts.

I can’t begin to tell you how pleased I am with my flagpole and the service provided by Liberty Flagpoles. I have wanted a flagpole for several years and finally decided to just go ahead and purchase one this year.

I actually ordered a flagpole twice before stumbling upon Liberty Flagpoles. The other two companies were very misleading and eventually admitted that they didn’t even have the pole I wanted. Thank goodness.

I found Liberty Flagpoles online, called them up, and was treated the way I would treat a perspective customer. I ordered their 21′ telescoping flagpole. It arrived within a few days. The quality of the pole and the care taken in producing and packing it was obvious.

The directions were simple and direct. On the second day of installation (The cement had to set. ), I flew Old Glory for the first time. What a beautiful sight. It extends and retracts easily. I’ve already flown it at half staff in honor of Senator John McCain and Patriots day (9/11).

My flagpole is a source of great joy and pride. Thank you, Liberty Flagpoles!.

Let me start by saying the 3 stars are based are based on the price of $140 I paid for this. Even at that, 3 stars might be a little generous. 1. Ground sleeve is short. It’s barely OK if you are not planning on pouting the concrete any higher than ground level, but if you want to have the base raised at all you will need another one.

The base of the pole seems to fit pretty tightly, but there is just enough play in it that I can attach a pipe level to it and see movement in the bubbles even a foot above ground level. However, there is not enough room to put sand down the tube to stabilize it.

2. The pole looks great, but the swedged fittings allow for sway. I raised the pole on a breezy day, and I immediately noticed that there was noticeable movement at the swedged joints. I could see the movement looking up the pole.

Between the movement in the sleeve and the movement at the swedges, there was probably 4″ of sway at the top of the pole in a strong breeze. I decided not to use one of the pole sections because of the height of my house, so I am getting that much movement in 21′ pole.

I could hear the movement in the joints as I stood next to the pole. I took the pole down, and my plan is to add construction adhesive to all of the swedges to stabilize them. I’ll update this review later on how that works.

3. The halyard that come with it is pretty thin. I would probably be fine, but I had some better line at home and upgraded to that. Nothing wrong with the quality of what was included, but I wanted something a bit more heavy duty.

The clips to attach the flag are plastic, which I didn’t like. I had already had some brass clips, so I used those. I am skeptical about the cleat it doesn’t seem to be very substantial. I’ll if it holds or if I need to replace it.

I knew this was not the strongest pole out there from when I bought it, so I am not really surprised or disappointed that I am having to shore it up. If my additions work, I will have a good looking strong setup.

If not. well I knew what I was getting into from the other reviews.

I have purchased this pole assembly. but unfortunately the weather hasn’t cooperated and to date I am unable to complete. Someone suggested that when your assembling the pole sections try and fit a single piece of plastic pipe (pvc) inside of the sections of the flag pole.

Try to get a piece that fits snug or as tight as possible without making more work for yourself. If you do decide to install “set screws” between each section to keep them from spinning the screws will now have something to grab and screw into.

It sounds easy enough and cheap enough that with alittle luck it just might work and protect Ole Glory and thats reason enough 4 me !!! (Almost) flyin hi !!.

Started off with a hiccup – an improper part was shipped, but that was remedied easily & quickly. Live on the high plains of Wyoming where 40-45 m. p. h. winds are common & occasionally 60 m. p. h. +.

For some time I removed the flags when the wind-speed was above 40 m. p. h. One day the winds were sustained at such speed & I neglected to remove the flags – the bottom section of the pole wound up being badly bent.

So I opted to remove it & settle for a 20′ pole. Over time, the winds have worked their magic on the bottom section of the pole & it has developed a list to the SE from the strong NW winds. So when they say it’s not for high winds, they ain’t just whistling Dixie pardner!.

This is the third one of these I’ve purchased. The first two were lost in storms. The set screw in the rail mount I purchased from West Marine is not sufficient to hold a 3′ × 5′ flag on this pole. This time I drilled and tapped a hole in the pole so that the set screw threads through the rail mount and into the pole.

I recommend you all look into this improvement.

These staffs look beautiful and are easy to install. They come with a backing plate that makes installing them on sheet metal, or I assume, other flat surfaces, secure. We fly a flag on each of our fire engines and ladder trucks in our fire department.

I have changed over all of our units flag staffs to these and they have worked flawlessly. They’ve withstood trips down the freeway at 65 mph, as well as the overall abuse that a fire engine seems to see.

If there is one negative to this staff, it is that if the hand nut is tightened too tightly, it will smash the tubing of the staff. But I feel this was a user problem, and not a manufacturing issue. The tubing is plenty strong enough to withstand a normal amount of torque on the hand wheel, firefighters seem to want to tighten things beyond where they really need to be tightened.

We have 4 of the 30 inch staffs and 2 of the 36 inch staffs in service. Two of them have been in service nearly ten years and are still beautiful. No rust, still nice and strong. Be sure you buy the staff at least the next size up from the flag you intend to fly.

I have noticed that flags will vary in size, and if you buy a 24″ staff for a 24″ tall flag, you may not have enough room to tighten the flag on the staff. I buy them so that I have at least an extra 6″ below the flag so that the flag flies nice and high, and it doesn’t drape on the body while we are stopped.

If you buy a longer staff, and need it a bit shorter, a tubing cutter will cut the staff nicely. Another very nice feature to these staffs is the “clips” that hold the flags on are nice and strong, and clamp down on the staff securely.

There is no rattle from loose clips flapping in the wind.

This is a quality heavy duty flag staff. You can just feel it by the weight and the finish. Looks awesome. I put a 2’x3′ US flag on the 36 inch flag staff and it looks perfectly portioned on a 34 foot powerboat.

This size is thru bolted which is a pain to mount because I had to crawl up into a tight space to thread the nuts and put a wrench on it while someone else tightened the screws from the top. But it’s not going anywhere because of the mounting plate under the deck.

No striped screws from the fiberglass. Nice job Taylor!.

This is a tough review to write. The poll itself is great. I love the black color and it provides a sturdy support for my flag. I am not a big fan of the “plastic” silver topper and would prefer it to be metal.

The reason for my 3 star rating is the mount. The mount is PLASTIC! Simply inserting the flag and pole into the mount caused it to flex and make a sound. I am in constant fear that the hardware is going to snap especially as it is exposed to the outside elements 24/7 and in direct sunlight all day long.

I ended up purchasing a metal flag mount from a hardware store and discarded the one that came with the kit. I am very cautious with displaying and respecting my flag.

Overall very pleased with this kit. I was skeptical at first because I read some negative reviews about it coming down, the light being junk, and the clips that hold the flag on needing to be replaced.

I decided to try it because of the all the positive reviews and how good the price is. So far I am very satisfied with it. One section will slide down if it isn’t tightened down enough but that’s more user error in my opinion.

I am very happy with the light. It is bright and works very well. First thing I did was replace the batteries with Duracell and it stays on all night. The clips that hold the flag on out cheap but I haven’t had an issue with them yet and replacements probably cost $0.

10 at Walmart or Ace. Installation was incredibly easy. After receiving the kit, I looked up the brand and realized sears used to carry them. I feel lot more confident about my purchase now. Overall a great product and I highly recommend it.

I live in Montana so it will be tested by the elements but I feel confident it will withstand what gets thrown at it.

It is pretty neat being able to set it to a height to keep from breaking in a normal Colorado spring wind. I do my duty every day and go down to the end of the driveway and put it back up to two stages because the pole doesnt stay locked which is probably good cuz then the pole wont break off at 5 ft from the ground.

The collars to help let the flag rotate on the pole hang up and get the flags all twisted and I believe they are placed wrong on the pole to keep the two flags stretched out. Would probably get broke off if I ran it to 30 ft.

It was easy to set up though.

Bought this to replace shorter flagpole that uses halyard and line to raise and lower the flag. I was looking for something that was stout enough to fly two flags on the pole, and would stand up to the significant wind load of Florida.

This pole does the job! The 25 foot that I bought is the perfect height. Quality is high, price was fantastic, it is very sturdy, stands up to near gale force winds with a 4×6 and 3×5 flag flying at the same time.

Installation is a breeze (no pun intended), and the no furl mounting tabs are a real plus. The only downside that I have with it, is the inability to fly a flag at half staff, since the pole retracts by sections within itself, so if you lower it, the pole it just gets shorter, with the flag flying in the fully raised position.

However, to me that is a minor inconvenience. Overall, I would purchase again without any qualms, and in fact I did: bought one for my brother’s property!.

Alli-in-All, Very happy with the 20′ Valley Forge Pole Kit. The flag kit arrived 3 days after ordering. Instructions were easy to follow. I did make three modifications. [1] the sleeve supplied was just under 18″ and not the 20″ indicated on the pdf of the U.

S. Flag website. I bought some 2″ pvc and made a 26″ sleeve for added support. As the sleeve goes 2″ into the sand and 1″ above ground level, that gave me 23″ of concretede support instead of 15″. [2] I did not use one of the sections as I thought the 20′ was too high for my residential property (plus my property slopes up about 3.

5′ above street leve). [3] I bought two 10′ 1 1/4″ PVC (has an outside diameter of of about 1. 65″) to put inside the assembled pole sections for added support. We have had some 30 to 40mph winds and the pole works great.

The supplied nylon flag is well made. Some reviewers do not like the plastic flag hooks, but they are good quality and they minimize the noise of metal hooks. For the price, the quality is great. I also put a solar light on top.

At the base of the flag pole are six 2′ military statues representing our land, sea and air service personel. For this 68 year old veteran, Old Glory flies proudly in the front yard 24/7.

This flag pole looks magnificent in my front yard. I am so happy with it. I had an aluminum flag pole that lasted a couple of years until a wind storm snapped it in half. The added strength of steel should help to make this flag pole last a good many years.

Even so, it is recommended that you take the flag down when ever there is an impending storm containing a high winds. Also, I have only high praises for Rural King. Ordering was quick and simple. It was very easy to track my order once it shipped.

To bad there isn’t one of there stores in the Western New York area.

Just received and installed 18 foot flag and it’s just like the one I purchased for another home last year for very nearly twice the price. Strong, not cheap, pole and easy to assemble and proudly display.

Have had this flag pole for about 5 years from now. Noticed rusting from the ends of the pieces spray painted them now it looks great again! this flag pole has withstand strong winds in my area to about 60-70 mph wind gusts.

First understand that I have not installed it yet and won’t until after the holidays and the weather is more conducive. However the construction is solid, but the instructions are not perfectly clear.

Inspect all parts and lay out the pieces on the ground first to understand the assembly. The one pole end came slightly damaged thus preventing the smaller pole to fit in the hole. I haven’t attempted to open the hole wider yet.

This is a great item. I mounted the sleeve to my deck. This made it 10ft. higher from the ground. I did however install a small self tapping screw to each section (except the bottom section which I left free to rotate in heavy wind.

by doing this, the flag drag allows the flagpole to rotate the flag so the flag is flying with the wind and eliminate unnecessary flag drag and pole wrapping. I also cut plastic from an old Javex container and use the plastic to insulate the pole from touching any.

part of the wooden patio. then, (with s/s bandit clamps) fastened an aluminum wire down to a ground rod driven 4′ into the ground. With a flagpole of this height that fastens any part of your house it is wise to isolate it with proper non conductive material from touching any part of a structure and then attaching an insulated properly gauged (10 gauge is what I used) wire of similar materials that the flagpole is made of to an appropriate ground rod.

The flagpole will now be safe from a lighting strike which will pass the current down the flagpole to ground (shortest and most conductive path. Enjoy the flagpole it is great. Might add very easy to install.

Great product, easy assembly and very sturdy. I live in an area that has high winds at times and my flagpole is not protected from those winds. It has held up very well and continues to allow me to fly an American Flag and POW/MIA flags without any concerns of damage.

This is an excellent replacement for my 16-year old flagpole. Originally I ordered a telescoping flagpole from Amazon. The ground sleeve is only about 18 inches. the flagpole is metric (China) and I could not get a replacement sleeve to fit, nor would the vendor provide one at my expense.

This new flagpole is made in US specs and is heavy gauge aluminum. Although the pole was made in China. it was made to US specs. I am extremely pleased with this purchase. The flag is made in the USA and I have always purchased Annin products and I will continue to do so.

I have not erected it yet, so I cannot sent photos at this time.

First off. the Poles for the flagpole feel and look very thin. I was wondering how well they would withstand a strong wind, since I have seen some reviews of it saying that the poles snapped off a few feet above ground.

So. I took some other suggestions from here and purchased a 20′ section of 1 1/4″ PVC pipe. This pipe can slide inside the pole for a little added strength. Keep in mind that you may have to cut the PVC in two sections or so because when you put the PVC inside the bottom portion of the pole it will hit the screws that hold the flag halyard cleat for the rope.

No big deal, so that is what I did. A small piece of PVC for the bottom half up to the halyard and then another piece for the top half. Overall the flagpole is nice and very easy to install. It does look great and the solar light for the top is nice and bright.

The pole does seem to have some play to it when a strong wind blows. This is because you don’t just put cement around the base. You put a sleeve ( which is included in the box) into the ground and then pour cement around the sleeve.

The actual flagpole then goes inside the sleeve, so there is a slight amount play in it. So I am only concerned that it won’t withstand a stiff breeze. but as of right now. no complaints.

This flagpole came complete with nylon rope, pulley, and a gold aluminim ball for the top of the pole. The entire flagpole turns with the wind so the flag does not wrap around the pole. The bottom of the pole has a sleeve that enables the pole to turn with the wind.

I used a 6″ posthole digger to dig a 21″ deep hole, then placed 3 inches of stone in the bottom of the hole for drainage. I placed the 4′ section (with the sleeve) in the center of the hole, then poured in concrete, being careful it only touches the sleeve, not the pole because if the concere touches the pole it will not turn in the wind.

The flag is impressive, being made of 100% nylon with embroidered stars. After seeing reviews on how the PVC poles snapped off at the 2 or 3 ft level, I decided to go with aluminum. To give the pole some extra support, I installed a 10 ft of 1 1/4″ I.

D. PVC pipe inside the lower 10 ft of the aluminum pole. To reduce the chance of the flagpole being stolen, I secured the 4 ft sections together with 1/2″ rustproof sheetmetal screws. I followed the very clear and illustrated directions from start to finish and it took about minutes to assemble it, including combining sections with screws.

Finally, I like this flagpole better than a PVC my friend paid $280 for installed.

Very difficult to keep pole aloft (up). Hand tightening sections doesnt work for all sections. Works its way down in just breezy weather, Pipe wrenches and very large water pump pliars helped too. Finally used large hose clamps.

Company told me its residential. And should be taken down in any wind. I live in the country and it is 3/4 mile from house at end of drive. Not practice. The sleeve is in concrete. Other than that I like it.

This is my second fiberglass pole because the first broke 2x with the wind and the way I had it mounted on my dock. I probably overtightened the brace which caused the fiberglass to crack. Going to be more careful with this one.

Couldn’t resist the price and ease of use. I have two flags on it on my dock where the wind does get going very hard on a regular basis. So far no problems. Had to raise the old one up after a while, it loosened and sunk down a little bit.

For the price this is a good to great value. And very portable-if that is what you need.

We have used the flag pole 2 weekends and are very happy with its performance. It was very windy the second wknd but it didn’t sway very much. We flew the American Flag and we are going to get another flag to fly with it.

We purchased the ladder mount for it and the mount works very good also. The top hanger ring broke the first time we used it and Jen replaced it promptly. I am sure we will get many years of use out of this flag pole.

This Pole held two 3×5 flags in moderate wind for several days while camping. Zero issues,the swivels kept the flags from tangling.

The Flagpole is easy to assemble and install. The hardest item is digging the hole necessary to rigidly hold the pole in high winds. The pole arrived damaged and the supplier provided a replacement within a couple of days.

They were responsive and easy to work with. The other feature I like about this pole is it is sectional so if it’s too tall (like mine) you can simply remove a section and make the 30 ft. pole a 25 ft.

I am hoping that I will like the fact that it stands up to winds, now and then. I also like that it has the halyard to raise and lower the flag with. Our previous flagpole was a telescoping pole and it did not fair well.

I have owned several, cheaper sectional flag poles, and this one does appear to be sturdier and less prone to failure and staining than what I have purchased before, but it does have a number of shortcomings that are not spoken of in the description, nor are they obvious until you actually see it and read the instruction sheet that comes with it.

This pole is not worth the additional cost and trouble, and when I saw it for real I re-packed it and returned it to my local Sam’s Club. They were very nice and refunded my money.

I liked this assembly very much, especially with the light accessory. However, the lowest section has a small bend after an assault by hurricane Sally. The flag was NOT left on the pole. I am disappointed it could not even stand up to a category 1 storm.

I suppose next time I will need to disassemble the pole leaving only the bottom section which I would have done had I known. I don’t know what wind speed it should tolerate. If anyone knows the best way to straighten the bent section, let me know.

This would be a great flagpole if you live where there is almost ZERO wind. Reading the negative reviews echoed my own experience. The kit is easy to put together, it looked great. until we had 25-30 mph winds.

Bent the pole and the cheap aluminum broke after only four days. VERY disappointed.

I bought this flag pole last year (2020) before forth of July used for about a month, stored it. Took it out last year for memorial day, stored it. Then used it this year for forth of July it was up until this week 7/14/21.

The pole literally broke in half from when the spinning mechanism is at. Would not recommend this item.

most spinning flagpoles just mean the hooks at top and bottom spin which end up tangled and broken quickly, this pole has an outer shaft that slides around the inner pole the whole width of the flag making it very hard if not impossible to tangle.

we had 40 mph winds the other day and I took it down because it was whipping around so fast I was more worried the holder would rip off the wall. lol.

I just received my flag pole kit. I got it all out and put the pieces together but am having problems with putting the truck on it. It will not fit on the pole and I have tried banging it on with a hammer and wood to protect it but still won’t go on.

I am getting really frustrated with it, besides that I love it once I figure out the truck. Can’t put it up without this part. Did anybody else have this issue? · Tighten setscrews firmly. · Thread halyard rope through the pulley and knot the ends together to form a loop. · Tie the snap hooks. · Position the snap hooks the appropriate distance apart according to the size of the flag you are flying.

· Thread the ball ornament by the stem, not the ball portion. Tighten the set screw against the stem to hold the ball in place. · Slide the remaining sections together, making sure that the truck is positioned over the cleat.

Very nice quality flag! Only bad thing is that that it was missing the bracket and ties to attach the flag. Major items for someone just starting out with their first flag. I already had a bracket, and improvised with zip ties, so I made it work.

Just inspect your packaging before you leave the store.

Acrylic storage in general is very expensive, and I’ve looked online and in stores to find something that would have large enough drawers to fit my items. I came across many drawers with much less drawer height.

and I mean I can’t imaging fitting anything in there. Even these ones that I purchased, feel a little tight on the space. You can only fit so much. To give you a few examples: 1). I can fit eyelash curler in here, and it will take the full height of one little drawer.

2). I can stack maximum 3 Maybelline / Rimmel face powders/ bronzers in the height of one drawer. 3). I can place about 8 medium size hair rollers in one drawer. These can work great for other little items like hair ties, barrettes, pins, etc.

Each drawer pulls out nicely, no squeaky sounds. The drawers are perfectly clear. My drawer came in safe in it’s own individual box, no scratches, no damages. This was my second drawer that I purchased.

The only thing is I have to figure out how to stack them both without having the top one slide every time I pull out a drawer. I think to use double- sided tape, to sort of “glue” two of them together, and see how it works.

I purchased one previously from The Container Store, and liked it in general, so I decided to find it online to save a few $$. Exactly the same item, maybe a few dollars cheaper. Like I said, acrylic storage drawers in general are outrageously priced in general.

The larger ones of other brands, made of higher quality acrylic, can go up to $200, and for this money you can buy a decent piece of furniture for your room with drawers to fit all your stuff. You really have to think if it’s even worth your money to splurge on just holding your makeup and other little things in there.

For now, I’m good with two of these drawers.

I’ve owned many 3ft x 5ft Cotton, American Flag, Best Brand in the past and have been impressed with their durability. Iowa here. Fly 24/7/365. Average years I put up a new one just before 4th of July and one early to mid January.

The winter winds are wicked.

So far, so good. The exchanged flag pole went up Sun and it hasn’t slid down once. It looks great and easy to put up. Also lightweight enough for me to handle by myself. I think it’s going to start a trend in the neighborhood.

Several people asked me where I got it. Hope this one doesn’t break.

I just love how the top part of the pole swivels to keep the flag from being wound up on the pole. I have gone through 3 or four of these in six years. That does not matter. I just love the thing and am willing to change it out when needed.

I keep an extra one on hand all the time.

An ingenious pole. Flags never twist or bunch even with brisk wind conditions. Though metal, actually looks like wood so perfect for “older” homes.

So far, it has worked beautifully. We live on the Delaware Bay with lots of wind. The porch is on the other side of the house facing the street but it is still windy and the flags go round and back where they belong.

Previously poles simply let the flags get twisted up and stay that way.

This flag pole is just what my husband has been shopping for in quite a while. This flag pole is intended to host the German Shepherd inbedded American flag which we have over our kennel. It is perfect and it works well.
