20 Best Digital Tire Inflator With Pressure Gauge (2023 Updated)

I was able to use this on car tires using my pancake type Porter Cable compressor. I thought that I would be able to just attach it to the tire to see the existing pressure and then watch it increase while I pressed the trigger to add air.

However, that is not what occurs. I get a reading of the existing pressure when I manage to get it positioned correctly on the valve stem. When I press the trigger the reading shows a completely different reading while air is entering the tire.

To see the current pressure, I had to let up on the trigger to see the reading and then keep repeating the process of pressing and letting up until the reading was what I wanted in the tire. Ultimately, I was able to get close to the correct pressure.

However when I compared the pressure from the meter to what appears with a pencil type gauge or compared to the reading from the cars electronic sensors, this tool shows about 2 psi less than the other readings.

I will need to just remember that when I’m using it. I’m disappointed that it just doesn’t allow constant monitoring of the increasing pressure as it is filling, but I can make this work.

I took this gauge out of the box to see if I can remove the tube that has the Schrader valve latch head. It’s installed super tight and my wrench in metric or in SAE doesn’t really fit the hex nut on the tube.

I measured it with calipers and it says 11. 86mm. The 11mm wrench doesn’t fit. So, I tried using a 12mm wrench – doesn’t fit either due to the thickness of the wrench. I had to use a shorter handle 12mm cone wrench, which fits but doesn’t have enough lever arm for the necessary torque to turn the hex bolt.

It’s really snug fitting done by a machine! Anyway, this is my initial review. I was going to use this with the supplied Schrader valve latch but I need something that’ll work for Presta (french) valves as well for my bike tires.

For this initial opening, the pressure gauge looks solid and nicely built. It’s made of metal everywhere and the quality looks premium. I’ll put up pictures and provide updates as I start to use it.

Extremely happy with this gauge, after small modification. It’s well made with all brass construction and cast machined body. Supplied with many accessories and adapters for use with compressors and small battery inflators.

IMPORTANTLY I could not get the lock on head to fully seal on my Range Rover or BMW motorcycle, solution is changing installed flat rubber gasket seal to supplied conical gasket seal. Note photo, unscrew the brass locking chuck valve end using two wrenches to remove only top portion as shown in photo.

Remove flat rubber gasket and replace with included taller conical gasket with tapered end in first as shown. Reassemble using small amount of included Teflon tape to seal connection. Alternatively, there is a screw on chuck included which replaces the installed locking chuck if preferred.

I really like the convenience of this tire pressure gauge. The immediate reading of tire pressure beats getting out a tire pressure gauge and a separate tire air tool. The only negative I found was that the gauge was a couple of pounds greater than any other gauge I tested it with.

My conclusion was that the digital gauge was a little inaccurate but not so much as to make it unusable. It is otherwise a great tool.

This gauge is outstanding! Most important it is the most accurate gauge I’ve had over many years of work. I like that it clips on to the tire valve, gives you a reading and as you pull the trigger it shows new pressure.

If you overshoot, press the release button until you hit your target pressure. Love it!.

I don’t know if I just got one that was a defect or if the quality of tool or assembly was substandard. I put the hose and adapter on it plugged it in and the first tire I used it on I heard a small pop inside and the tool stated leaking air around the edges of the face plate! Shop air is regulated and the tire only had 30 PSI in it! Very unhappy with this tool and it is currently in the mail being returned for a refund!.

Just came in the house from checking tire pressure and airing up tires on a January Michigan day. NO quarters, NO dollars, NO swiping a credit card, NO stopping at a gas station, NO stopping at an air machine that doesn’t work.

I used to use the rechargeable battery but now I just use the other plug (with a super long cord) and just plug it into my cigarette lighter. Have owned the Air Hawk Pro for 2-3 years. No one is paying me for this review.

I think I paid about $70 for mine. Worth every penny and more.

This is a good Air Compressor and it does the job. I have owned it for several years. But the hose broke and it would not add air in tires, I contacted Air Hawk to purchase spare parts and was told that it was discontinued.

I did find hoses that worked and will keep it as a spare. I purchased a new compressor (Kobalt Model #KLDP1) which I like much better than the Air Hawk. I like the AH because it could be powered by a battery and the car (12V).

The kobalt is 120V and 12V. but the thing I like best is that you can set the air pressure and it automatically stops when it reaches that pressure.

The “Air Hawk” is a great piece of equipment to have with you. I this age when every air pump at service stations and convenience stores costs $1 or $2 and never gives an accurate pressure reading; this little device offers a better alternative and an accurate readout of pressure.

You charge it up in the house or the car and it is ready to go. It will lose some power in the very cold weather, if you leave it in the vehicle all the time, as would any chargeable item, but with plenty of rapid charging options available, it would never be a problem.

We have a Cadillac & a Lincoln; both with the factory installed specialized chromed wheels. These wheels look great, but do allow the tires to drop in pressure weekly, in the cooler & colder weather.

(the cost of beauty I guess). The Air Hawk makes it easy to check and accurately fill the tires to the exact pressure. Just set the unit for what you want and go. I believe I will buy a second unit, so I have one in each vehicle.

okay so I purchased this a while back just because I have 2 cars and I hate having to go to the gas station or tire shop to get air. Also I do have a 25GAL air compressor at home that I use other air tools with so win win for me.

Now, I’ve read the review’s from worst to good and the biggest complaint was really the construction of the unit was poorly made. The one I got seem pretty sturdy somewhat of a metal design or hard plastic not really sure.

What I have found tho, which I’m seeing now in the review’s is DO NOT OVER TIHGTEN !!!!. I didn’t use any tools to run up the threading for the parts and I’m not have any leaks at all. I also did not want a battery operated unit cause I know how annoying it is when having to look for batteries for something, beside this gauge is really easy to read and for a home owner you’re not using it everyday maybe once every 2 or 3 months.

Didn’t think the glow in the dark numbering would make sense but it helps makes the reading easier. I think its something worth having especially if you have a air compressor at home.

Very easy to use. Came completely assembled with fittings on both ends, and DOES NOT LEAK from the pre-assembled fittings. Gives identical readings when compared to my pencil style tire pressure gauge, which I know to be accurate.

Locks easily onto every tire pressure valve stem I have tried (12 tires on 3 cars, plus 2 snowblower tires). Sometimes I have to wiggle it a little where it connects to the tire valve stem to get a perfect non-leak fit, just like just about every other inflator or pressure gauge I have used in 6 decades of auto mechanics.

Easy to read with large gauge and 1 psi increments. Includes a small roll of Teflon tape (not needed), 4 extra valve stem caps, and a valve stem remover, which is a great bonus to assure tightness and no leaking within the stem.

Obviously, I am completely satisfied!.

I work in a smaller shop with two other techs and out of all the tools I’ve purchased, this is one of the few I’ve had absolutely no issues with. To start, the build quality is very sturdy, with brass fittings and a stainless steel braided hose.

Moreover, the strainless hose includes a rubber strain relief where the hose exits the tool. Even after months of heavy usage and getting tossed around, the hose shows no signs of wear at all. As far as air chucks go, it’s the most comfortable and intuitive I’ve ever used.

The smooth, yet sturdy steel lever is dual purpose. The first 50% of travel will release air. Squeeze it fully and it will start adding air to whatever it’s connected to. In my opinion, this is far more comfortable than the vast majority of analog air chucks, which require you to tilt the air fitting off to the side to release air from the schrader valve.

The locking chuck is a nice touch, but depending on the condition of the valve stem, it may or may not seal without some extra down-pressure on the fitting. This is less a problem with the chuck and more a problem with worn, dirty or low quality valve stems on tires.

In day-to-day usage it’s a non-issue for me. The single button powers on the tool with one press. Press it again and it will turn on the back light. Hold the button and it will switch measurement units (PSI, KG and BAR).

The back light does not stay on for very long (15 – 20 seconds), but this is okay as our shop is on the darker side, and I still have no trouble reading the display, even with all the bay doors shut.

The back light is there just in case you’re airing something up in the dark and need some extra light. It’s not something you’ll use all the time. It helps a lot with battery life. On average, I use this chuck about 20 times a day, 5 days out of the week and I’m averaging about 1 – 2 months on the 2 AAA batteries.

In my opinion, this is excellent battery life. Just keep in mind this tool will give you no warning when the batteries are low. It will simply shut off completely and not power back on. There seems to be no difference in accuracy, regardless of the battery life.

As far as accuracy goes, this tool is right up there with the best of them. I frequently air up tires on Alfa Romeos which have sensors that report pressures to the nearest 10th of a PSI. Airing them up to factory specs, I find the sensors to always report within 1 – 2/10ths of a PSI to the pressure I set.

And this across 100+ different cars on different days with different sensors. This is excellent and great for picky customers that demand their tire pressures be exact across all four tires. Good luck trying to achieve this accuracy with an old-school Milton tire inflator.

And if you’re worried about this gauge taking a while to update the reading, worry no more. As soon as I release the trigger to check the pressure, it updates the reading within 1/4 of a second. Awesome.

In spite of my glowing review, I do see some areas that could be improved in a later version. First of all, the hanging loop built into the rubber boot that fits around the tool is starting to show very slight tearing (I always hang it from a re-purposed coat hanger on the side of my lift.

I would prefer a hard hanger molded into the body of the tool for better longevity. Second, it would be nice to have a mode where the backlight turns on as soon as the trigger is pressed (like some digital gauges from Mac).

Lastly, there could be more contrast in the display itself. With the back light on, the reading looks somewhat ghostly and not as clear as you would hope. Again, it hasn’t been a real problem in my usage, but those with worse eyesight would definitely appreciate more contrast.

TL;DR: This unit from Astro absolutely dumpsters gauges even twice the price in overall comfort, quality, accuracy and reliability. If any of you air up tires very often, and you’re still using an analog gauge, I strongly urge you to give this inflator a try.

After getting used to this gauge, trying to read an analog gauge is like going back to the stone age. You will not be disappointed. Lastly, if I have any problems with this tool, I will update my review.

If there are no updates, then you know it’s still working perfect.

I like the accuracy of this product, and it appears to be durable. It is a bit heavy / bulky, but I suppose that is somewhat necessary to make it durable. 2 things I did NOT like about it are: 1. ) The illumination goes off too quickly.

just about the time you go to read it, the backlight goes off, and you have to activate it over and over again while checking / adjusting tires. Matter of fact, just give me an on / off rocker switch and have it illuminated constantly while I’m using it.

with AA batteries, it should last a good while anyway, and I would rather replace them often than be annoyed by this. 2. ) The tire chuck for attaching to the valve stem is hateful. I immediately replaced it with a chuck that allows me to do motorcycle tires, ATV tires, AND car / truck tires.

The one that comes with it is so long and rigid, that fitting it into anything with spokes on is impossible, and it doesn’t seem to latch / grip the valve stem anywhere near as well as my cheap $14. 95 analog tire inflator.

Nice. not sure what everyone is talking about with the Phillips screws. Mine came with instructions to peel back rubber insulator, pull up battery cover, install batteries (came with 4 AAA, requires 2).

Took about 2 minutes because I took a sip of beer. Screwed on a male hose fitting (came with a brass male to female fitting installed), ran out for a comparison to my other gauges. Within 1/2 psi of the other 2.

Cool thing was airing down only required this tool to hit target pressure. The lock on clip does require a little more force to get clipped and not leak , but not excessive. Instructions do say to ” twist/thread chuck onto valve stem to fully seat “.

I just pushed harder then latched. Both gauge and handle encased in rubber for shock absorption. Certified accuracy : 0 – 58 psi is +/- 1. 2 psi. 59 – 174 psi is +/- 2 psi. One click turns on gauge, second click turns on back light witch stays on for about 5 seconds.

Third click does nothing ( I was hoping it would turn off ). It does shut off after about a minute and a half of no use. Came with detailed instructions and 1 year warranty. ” READ ME FIRST” and “IMPORTANT NOTICE” cards are of high quality paper and in color hinting to a quality product.

My favorite new gadget. It gives me peace and security. You will understand this if you ever are about to get in your car (in a rush, probably running late) and notice a flat. No risk of riding the rim, slowly, on the way to the gas station.

Its home is in my trunk, in the pouch that it came with. Simple rules to live by-charge for 4 hrs and do not use it for more than 15 min at a time. I did 2 tires then let it rest, even though I didn’t need to as my tires were not that low, while I cleaned my car.

Did the other 2 tires without having to recharge. Even if I had to, there is a 2nd battery pack! I love love, that when you charge it there is an indicator light that turns green when it is complete.

No more overcharging and killing the battery (which I have done w other devices). I also like that you can set the pressure, and it stops on its own! No more grimy gas station hoses, looking for quarters, and then gauging the pressure, releasing air, all while someone is waiting for you to finish.

I like the reminder on top of the device which, tells you that the attachment gets warm (closest to the device). Even though I read it in the instructions, I forgot, so nice reminder. It was not hot unhooking it from the tire so that was not an issue.

When done, the attachment has a nook on the side of it where it snaps in, so less likely to lose it. I have not used it on my bicycle yet. but next on the agenda.

Don’t let the lightweight fool you. This is essential on road trips, especially if you find your spare tire flat or under inflated. At home, it’s quicker than setting up a portable compressor. The best feature? The pressure hose has a threaded connector.

The valve stem on my chipper-shredder receded into the tire. The tire inflator I use with my compressor kept pushing it farther in. I was able to inflate the tire by screwing onto the valve stem. Perfect solution!.

I love this product!!! Now I never have to go to the gas station to inflate my tires. It’s really easy to use too. I have had it for about a year, and it still works great. It especially came in handy when I punctured one of my tires; I put a few pounds of air in every day until I got it repaired.

The one (slightly) negative comment I have is that the hose started to stick, and it became very hard to attach/detach it from the tire. I just sprayed a little WD-40 on it, and it’s good to go again! In my opinion, this is an item everyone should have in their house.

I was skeptical of a digital gauge because I figured they would be somehow less accurate. This gauge was put to the test. I kept it in my work shorts pocket for a few days and periodically would test every tire I had, including one on my wagon that has a slow leak.

It was consistently spot on. And it lights up bith on the read out as well as the tip so it acts as mini green flashlight. Glad I got one.

Non-replaceable battery and a light that can’t be turned off. Ugh! I would not have bought this if the description was clear that the battery cannot be replaced. I never want to buy anything like that.

This “feature” makes it useless as an emergency tool since it could fail fatally at any time. Ecologically irresponsible to manufacture such crap. Get a mechanical one, or one with a standard size, replaceable battery, not this thing.

The battery will die on you when you need it the most. You have to restart the device in between taking each tire pressure reading. And then your batter will be low because the light stays on, and you will not get an accurate reading bc the battery is low “Lo Bat” will read on the display.

Hard pass on this trash!.

I received this digital tire inflator and have no skills in the mechanics of this item. I sought out help to attach to the compressor, but found that the instructions were so clear that I needed no help with use of this item.

This is an item when inflating sports equipment, the bicycle tire, or on the automobile is needed for the accurate amount of air to be placed in the item. I had a fear of not getting it correct and this item is the reassurance that I have done it correctly.

I first used this on sports equipment, that my grandchildren use when visiting, seems they are never inflated correctly when the arrive. Now they can fix the problem and was needing to instruction to get inflated for use.

The best thing of this item if not used daily it is needed when things are not ready for use and there is really not a thing available that is more reliable. Ease of use and ease of set up is the best even with no background in the use of tools.

I personally like the digital readout as it never is a question is it the number desired, I would recommend it for every household.

I bought and tried both pump models. Love the products and the bleeder valve is great. Also their reliability is promising backed by their lifetime warranty but the compressors functionality can improve by 1) making the AC cord permanently attached then rolled up to stole away (AC/DC model).

2) making the air pump ON/OFF a one push ON switch; similar to the 12v model but it also is not perfect. It’s very annoying that I have to toggle it to OFF then back to ON to restart the air pump for the next tire.

3) making the (12v) model carrying case larger. It’s way too tight (fit like a glove is not desired) to remove the pump for use. Not ideal when in an emergency. 4) the 12v model power cord stow away opening can be made slightly larger.

It’s difficult for an average Joe to roll it up neatly for storage after use unless he works at the Jaco factory.

It is not a prevarication to state that, without question and under no uncertain terms, this portable air compressor is second to none. This product stands-out among other products that may be known for exhibiting such outstanding traits.

I used it initially on my motorcycle tires and the performance was unbelievable. 150 seconds and my tires were filled to capacity. This machine is powerful. It is great for vehicles with an annoying light that will activate when the tires a low in air.

Use the portable air compressor monthly for a few minutes and NEVER see the light again. Thanks 🙏🏿 to the manufacturer for creating such a superior product. It is a senior citizen’s dream come true that are on a limited income saving money by not having to wait in a long line to get change and then get in line to pay to use air air hose at the gas station.

The light on the compressor does not turn around when you press the ‘on’ button and say, “Are you talking to me?” It goes right to work efficiently and quickly. Purchased two of this product as the superior reputation of this product preceded itself.

This is a nice, compact tire inflator. It is simple to use, having only a couple of buttons. Took a few minutes to fill tires, but have nothing to compare it with speed-wise. It’s efficient and did what it was supposed to.

I like how it automatically shuts off when it reaches the set psi. JACO customer support is great!.

The first FlowPro 2. 0 Digital Tire Inflator did not work properly after inflating about a dozen tires. Damage to one of the valve’s o-rings was identified with the help of Steven in customer service.

He sent me a replacement kit that contained new o-rings. However, again the inflator worked for inflating only a few tires. This was, again, due to damage occurring to one of the o-rings. That is, something in the body of the unit was damaging one of the o-rings after filling a few tires.

I returned the unit and was sent another FloPro 2. 0 unit. However, it has another issue. It only works properly when my air compressor is set ABOVE 75 psi. When the compressor is set is below 75 psi, the venting does not stop when the handle is fully depressed.

This makes it inefficient, slow, and noisy when filling a tire to the desired pressure (i. e. with the vent valve remaining open). And it causes the air compressor to rapidly bleed down. The o-rings look good on this 2nd unit.

Upstate NY uses a lot of road salt, which eventually pits alloy wheels and has caused very slow air leaks from my tires. We have three cars and I check tire pressures every couple of weeks or so. My Jaco Flow Pro makes the job a snap compared to how I used to do it before with a separate gauge and inflator.

The lightning chuck seats instantly and securely over the tire valves. I check tire pressures and top them up in a fraction of the time. The Flow Pro is a cleverly designed tool. I enjoy using it and wish I found it sooner.

I’m pleased to report that Jaco’s lifetime warranty is the real thing. More than a year after I bought it, the gauge stopped zeroing out and started giving inaccurate readings. I called Jaco. Their customer service rep immediately offered a replacement and I received a new Flow Pro two days later.

There are 4 things about this gauge that separate it from many, many others. 1. The gauge is very easy to read down to one psi, or a fraction thereof. 2. The clever air release button works without having to remove the inflating line from the valve stem.

3. The small lever used to begin inflation is very sure, i. e. , it activates fully, never partially. 4. Best of all, the inflator valve eagerly fully attaches itself to the valve stem and locks automatically.

I would never have believed this had I not seen it with my own eyes. This is an ingenious idea. And, it fully pops off of the stem with the slight push of a button. NO LEAKAGE WHILE ATTACHED TO THE STEM.

I have always had a problem using a ‘stick’ type pressure gauge because they have shallow lips which makes it difficult to hold one squarely on the valve stem. As a result I frequently release air from the valve while I am attempting to measure the pressure in the tire.

Based on my frustration I decided there had to be a better way to put air into my tires and accurately measure the pressure. So, I went on line and searched for ‘tire pressure gauges’. A name that popped up was JACO.

Reviewing the various JACO gauges I quickly found the one I thought would solve my problem. It is the Flowpro Digital Tire Inflator Gauge. It is shipped with a quick connect male fitting that mates with the female fitting on my air hose.

JACO’s lock-on air chuck fits snugly down over the valve stem and as soon as it is in place the digital meter shows the tire pressure. At that point the inflator allows me to either add air to the tire or bleed off air if the pressure is too high.

The inflator gauge is a pleasure to use. It has eliminated my frustrations trying to accurately put air into my tires. It is well designed and very well made. It is accurate to one percent which equates to plus or minus two pounds of air pressure.

And JACO backs it with a lifetime warranty. Shipping was free and fast – I ordered the unit June 2 and received it June 5.

I am extremely pleased with the design and construction of the JACO FlowProw 2. 0 Digital Tire Inflator, which attaches to my air compressor! Due to the locking mechanism on the tire valve, I am able to save time by having my hands free when filling air in my vehicles tires.

The digital readout of this device allows me to fill air in all of my tires pressures to precise manufacturer’s recommendations. Before I purchased this tool, I had an analog tire pressure gauge which I had to constantly check the pressure and then fill more air in a tire and then re-check again.

The JACO tool makes the job so much easier and saves me time! I would highly recommend this tool to anyone who wants to check their tire pressure and fill it to precise specifications!.

It appears well built out of quality materials, but the quality of the gauge itself cannot be overlooked. The gauge was reading 45psi – when the tire was at 60psi (as checked with 3 other gauges and the trucks own TPM system).

Tried removing the batteries, tried fresh new batteries, nothing worked. Disappointing as I really wanted to like this gauge. Ended up returning for a refund.

The LCD gauge stopped working correctly after the 2nd time I aired up my tires after a day of wheeling. I’m running a dual ARB compressor under the hood and the first air up, I had no problem. A few weeks later, after airing up my 2 tires on the driver’s side, the gauge went haywire on me and won’t show the correct tire pressure.

It’s almost as if moisture got into the gauge from the compressor. The gauge is stored in a bag and not subjected to the elements or being rattled against tools, etc. I thought it may be bad batteries at first, but after putting new ones in, it still does the same thing.

It’s phenomenal at filling tires though, and I love that I can clip the chuck onto the valve stem and not have to hold it on. Now I have to constantly unhook it and use a pencil gauge to make sure I’m at the desired pressure I want.

I am having problems with keeping batteries in the one I received. It seems to kill the batteries every couple of months and I only use it when I am refilling my 35in tires after wheeling. I would think the batteries would last over a year, but I am definitely wrong with my thinking there.

I have not seen anyone else state they have this same issue, but this is my experience of this product after about 8 months of ownership.

I was sure hoping this was gonna be made in the USA since that is part of their name. But I was wrong, and that is why I only gave it two stars. I have used it once so far and only time will tell if it is reliable or not.

I noticed on one of the four tires that I checked, that I had to push it rather hard onto the valve stem to stop it from leaking air around the quick disconnect. The one nice thing is you can hook it up to the tires without having it hooked to an air source and verify your pressures.

While only “designed” in USA and not made in the USA as I was fooled into thinking by my lack of research, they appear to be of good quality. It’s an American based company that has them made in CHINA.

unfortunate. The accuracy seems right and I can’t seem to find a comparable one made in the USA with spending 4 times as much. Let’s just say it’s better CHINA junk than most CHINA junk.

Rhino USA is intentionally misleading the only thing USA about this is in their name MADE IN CHINA just like Harbor Freight and others that dont lie about it. Disappointed

Of course, to go along with my Milton tools, I also have many Snap On Tools as they are also a leader in the industry. So, I didn’t give a second thought to making this MLI S-568 purchase after having used and owned other Milton tire gauges for some sixty years.

I must also commend Summit on their great fast shipping and their “Beat A Price Guarantee” – I had the tool quickly on Wednesday after a late order on Monday evening and received it at a much lower price.

The actual tool quality seems very good overall, and I did see the gauge displayed a very high degree of accuracy when I checked it on a tire I had just previously inflated to 32 PSI using a different gauge having a known high accuracy.

But, there could be a few improvements and there is also a fine print sticker on the tool that states; “do not throw or drop” along with keeping the tool clean. First caveat, at least one swivel should be in the hose near the gauge handle as the rubber hose is only clamped to its brass fitting at each end with a thin stamped brass clamp that still allowed movement between the rubber and the brass fitting on my gauge at the tool body handle end during use.

There was no leak there, although one may soon develop there because of this – requiring a remedy. Second caveat, there should be an included hanger designed for hanging the tool on a bracket – since this is not a tool you can simply toss in a tool cabinet drawer with other tools.

As an air gauge tool, mechanics need a tool they can store and retrieve quickly without worry. A good included hanger would solve that problem. My solution was to add a small Velcro strap to secure the tire valve end to where the gauge attaches to the handle.

This allows me to quickly hang the tool up using the curvature of the secured rubber hose. Third caveat, the two alkaline AAA batteries should be removed during any storage. This also isn’t mentioned anywhere on or with the tool.

That is somewhat less of a problem since the rubber cover is easily removed to remove or replace them. However, it would have been better if some type of a more open substantial mechanical opening had been provided for the batteries other than the small plastic door hidden behind a rubber cover – both of which may not last well for many years.

One last item is the tool package prominently shows assembled in the USA – but shows it uses “GLOBAL COMPONENTS” in very fine print.

I was worried about leaking after reading the posts. I have no leaks and here is what I did. I put a quick connect on in place of the chuck that was sent. I used teflon tapes on the threads. Used teflon tape on the threads on the hose going to the pistol handle.

The real problem was where the supply threads into the bottom of the pistol handle. The Plastic on the handle does not let the fitting enter the treads at the correct angle. I took a sharp knife and beveled the plastic from the top of the threads away, at about 20 to 30 degrees.

This gives the clearance needed to not cross thread the supply. The unit works great with no leaks.

I bought this product because it is made in USA. Yes all the packaging and writing stamped on the product state such. I purchased the digital version and the AAA batteries inside are made in china. The product works great! I was able to set even pressure on all 4 tires for two vehicles very quickly.

The quick connect hub worked nicely. Glad I purchased this one!.

This Astro pneumatic inflator is a quality tool that exceeded my expectations when I received it. As a professional technician with over 30yrs experience, I invest in my tools to insure longevity that will provide an income for my family.

From right out of the box I was able to put it to use. The stainless steel braided line was a very nice touch and had a HD tire stem clip on chuck that held firmly and did not leak and also swivels as needed!The PSI gauge is of a totally new design in comparison to all the other round gauges out there that initally caught my eye.

The gauge swivels as well and has a great viewing window with optional back light and auto off function and to top it all off has a built in “led flashlight ” on top of the squarish PSI gauge housing that is so handy at night.

I did compare the readings to my Blue Point digital gauge to insure accuracy and they were spot on. With all the extras in the attached bonus bag of fittings,Schrader removal tool and valve stem caps this Astro pneumatic inflator is a must have for any shop, garage or homeowner.

I do have to mention that the batteries that came with it were just about dead. It’s a minor thing to me because I would rather start with new fresh batteries any way but I just had to mention it. I give honest and true reviews that encompass the entire tool.

Shipping was fast and I even had a follow up e-mail from Effie at Astro to make sure it arrived and met my satisfaction which I thought was a nice touch. A++!!.

I really, really don’t like digital air pressure gauges. I really don’t like things being digital that don’t need to be, largely because maintaining batteries is annoying, not to mention terrible for the environment.

The catch 22 here is that a quality analog air pressure gauge that can measure RV tires is very pricey, and a digital gauge isn’t. I tried repeatedly over the past 10 years to find a reliable analog gauge at a price point that didn’t physically hurt, and I just kept getting burned.

Of course, had I just spent the $100 up front I wouldn’t have wasted $40 three times, but hey, live and learn. Anyway, I now have this Astro gauge. It seems adequately built, it’s proven quite accurate, it doesn’t leak, and it fills tires quickly.

We’ll see how I feel in another three years, but after a couple months I’m more satisfied with this gauge than all my ill-advised attempts at analog! My only complaints are the display is a little slow, and it can be difficult to read in direct sun, but that’s manageable.

Offset by the relatively low price and good performance, I think this is a decent way to go for someone who needs “greater than passenger car tires” capability. If you do need that, take my advice, buy an analog gauge.

Skip batteries wherever possible.

Overall, a good product. Seems pretty solid, and does measure the pressure. There are a few minor problems. I wish it would automatically turn on the LCD screen when I use it instead of forcing me to press the power button.

I also think it would be better with a separate button for releasing air. When pumping a tire, a half squeeze releases air, while a full squeeze inflates the tire. However, there is always a small amount of air released on every squeeze and every release of the handle, so it becomes very imprecise.

Also, the gauge only registers when the handle is released, so if you want to watch the pressure as a ball or tire gets close, no luck. You just have to guess and then release the handle to see how close you got.

I was looking for a digital reading pressure gauge and studied many different brands and watched countless videos. I opted for this HF model 58173 as it simply looked identical to many other gauges costing much more.

The reviews of those similar gauges were very positive. I am totally impressed with its accuracy. It compares within 1lb to a Winters industrial, glycol filled analog gauge rated at 1% FS (60PSI FS).

The Winters indicates 34psi while the #58173 displayed 33. 4psi. I checked the readings on low pressure tires, (garden tractor, 10psi) and my higher-pressure Van tire at 55psi. At the high end of the range, it read within 1psi of the Winters and read exactly as the Winters at 10psi at the low end.

I have yet to compare its reading against my car’s TPMS which I know is accurate (C5 Corvette).

Previously I have had to use 2 separate items to inflate tires – 1 to inflate the tire and 1 to check the tire pressure. I would have to constantly switch between the 2 until the tire was properly inflated.

This makes it a lot easier. It has a pretty long flexible hose that allows me to easily access the valve on the tire. Operating is a simple squeeze of the lever. I love how the gauge automatically provides a pressure reading the moment that you’re done inflating when the lever is released.

The kit came with an angled and ball type chucks. It also came with 2 different air hose adapters which I was a little confused why as I thought there was a standard fitting for those adapters. It also came with another tool which I’m not quite sure what that tool is used for.

Overall I love this tool and I can never go back to how I previously filled tires.

I am so glad I purchased this item from Harbor Freight. I had always wanted a decent quality inflator like this but, they were too expensive. This one seems to be of decent quality as well as being easy to use–all at a great Harbor Freight price.

I just hope its’ durability is also high. Like others have said here, it is highly accurate–easily the most accurate inflator I have ever owned. My only complaint is that when replacing the batteries, it is somewhat difficult removing the rubber protective housing enough to access the battery compartment.

This definitely could have been designed better. Fortunately, one should not have to replace the batteries very often due to the automatic shut-off feature, which should extend their useable life. All-in-all.

this is a great inflator at a great price. As they say–this purchase is a real no-brainer.

It seems most of these gauges have the same chuck. This chuck takes must be held straight onto the valve stem and with a lot of force, otherwise it just leaks either the air from the tire or the air from the compressor.

Another big problem for bikes the length of the chuck and stiffness of the hose (which is normal), since the whole rig wont fit between the valve stem and axle hub on most bikes. The only way past this is to flex the valve stem out making it even more difficult to use.

The gauge and handle/valves works well and as expected. The deflate button is nice and flows quickly. So far it seems the gauge is accurate. I’ve chosen to fix the problem by replacing the chuck with this: JACO Lightning T-Series Tire Air Chuck – 1/4″ F-NPT (Open Flow)It’s expensive at $28 but I expect that I will reuse it if the gauge ever fails.

And “yes” an optimistic justification, I guess at this point I’m still trying to keep the dream of one-handed operation alive. There are good right angle locking chucks like the: Milton S-698 1/4″ FNPT Single Head Air Chuck with GripI’ve used this before and its great for bikes, sport ball needles and hand trucks, but horrible on cast auto wheels with short or recessed valve stems.

Recently purchased this auto air pump for my vehicles due to the weather in Texas fluctuating from hot to cold and back again and causing multiple TPMS readings on multiple cars. According to the internal TPMS in my Nissan Murano, the tires were at 26 PSI and should be at 35 PSI.

When I connected the AutoJoe, the reading for 1 tire said 24 PSI, and the other was at 23 PSI. It took about a minute per PSI to inflate the tires, so around 24 minutes. In that time the unit became very hot, almost unbearable to touch, and it went from 100% power to less than 1/3 power remaining, it’s hard to tell as there are only 3 bars on a battery icon to show the power level as opposed to a digital readout with numbers/percentage.

Additionally, the cord they included for the pump was too short, I had to hold the unit up in my palms while it was pumping as it would not reach the ground easily, and for the other tire when it could reach the ground, it vibrated soo much that it was moving down my driveway so I had to again hold it to keep it from drifting away.

Additionally, when I unhooked the pump plug, I noticed that the cord had loosened at the end connected to the pump, there is no locking mechanism to keep it from simply twisting during operation and loosening.

3 star because as far as I can tell, for now, it did inflate the tire to the proper level, and it still seems to be able to continue to operate. I am giving the motor a break because I was concerned by the temperature the body had risen to.

I will not recharge it for now and will see if that is enough of a charge to let me inflate the other 2 tires as they are also at the same level of inflation. More to come.

I received the Auto Joe ATJ-CA100 Ultra Compact Cordless Digital Air Pump Inflator. I love that this has multiple uses. Not only can you inflate your tires and inflatables with included attachments but this can also be used as a power bank or as an emergency blinker.

The pump charges via USB or from a cigarette lighter. The functions are displayed digitally and are easy to use with the presets or manually. The pump will stop once it’s at the desired PSI. I also like how compact it is.

It fits comfortably in the palm of my hand and is light weight. I like that there is an included storage bag which fits neatly in my glove compartment. This really is the perfect device to have on you at all times when you’re driving.

It pumps up rather slowly but it works very well. I would definitely recommend!.

While this is super handy in emergencies, there are definitely a few tweaks that it needs. It needs a longer hose as it’s hard to bend over for long periods of time holding the machine. Also the connection to the machine is a bit difficult and I fear would wear down quickly if you were to disconnect it after every use.

Other than that, it works great! It’s easy to read and easy to use. It hooks up to the tire easily and fills the tire quicker than any other small pump I’ve ever used. It’s small size also is convenient for storage in the car for emergency use as well.

The USB charge is also quite convenient as you can charge it in the car if you had to use it on a long trip. Definitely recommend for your emergency kit!.

This item is nicely built and feels sturdy in my hands. The gauge is digital down to the 10th of a PSI, and it rotates on the handle. All I needed to do was to add an air hose fitting to the inflator and I was ready to go.

To ensure leak free air, I used PTFE tape on the connector fitting and the US made rubber hose. I then proceeded to check my tire pressures on my TPMS equipped car. I adjusted the pressures to what the label on the door frame said and then checked with the TPMS, and I was happy to see that everything matched.

Please do yourself a favor plus save time and just spend the extra money once in a quality US made product. China makes garbage and they will continue to do so, robbing you of your patience, time and money spent multiple times buying replacements to cheaply made junk that constantly breaks or just doesn’t work properly.

Bought specifically for 17. 5s, duallys, and other high PSI tires that aren’t always easy to inflate. The chuck can be a pain to work with, banging it against something with light force while squeezing the trigger before inflating anything seems to be a necessity.

The silicon fill can be annoying unless you hold the gauge perfectly level. If bought as a specialty tool for this purpose, these are little more than minor complaints. Would not recommend for frequent inflation of passenger tires however.

Love this inflator, huge improvement over my worn mechanical inflators. -Easy to use -Leak free valve seat -Digital display is much easier to read than dials, especially for aging eyes -Time saver, inflates and displays at the same time, no need to switch back and forth from inflating to measuring -Handle is very easy to squeeze and is comfortable -Display head and hose easily rotates for a perfect position.

This lightweight and compact tyre inflator does exactly what it should do, inflates tyres fairly quickly and not too noisy either. The digital readout is clear and the LED lights are very bright, good for nighttime use.

The compressor starts and stops 2-3 times as the final pressure is reached and verified but nothing alarming. A great feature is the screw on inflation hose ensuring a positive connection to the valve, unlike the old style plastic lever.

Overall, a very good product at a good price. Hopefully it will continue working for years to come.

Very happy with this product. Keep this product on the market. Very handy and saves a lot of time than normal awkward air inflators. No messing around having to check pressure all the time. Easy setting.

No eye strain. Compact. Light.

Great quality product. Does a good job of inflation, which is its purpose. Only loses a star due to the fact that it stops pumping at the correct pressure but it is difficult to know if the switch is on of off when you use it for the next tyre/time.

The USB function is just silly, essentially it turns it into a USB extension cord as the unit needs to be plugged into the 12v socket to work.
