There are few kitchen products that I would describe as a thing of beauty and a kitchen essential but, my Boos Block maple cutting board is definitely one. I have owned many cutting boards over the years, plastic and woods ones that discolor, develop knife marks, slide around when using them and I hide when not in use.
The glass cutting boards don’t discolor but dull knives. The Boos Block board is wonderful. To start it’s a great size for almost anything I’m chopping. It has enough weight, so it does not slide around and when you are pounding out some meat on it, it absorbs the impact.
I like the two groves on the sides so it can easily be lifted and or flipped to use the other side. Before my first use, I have been following the instructions on sealing the wood with the Boos Block wax and oil and have found that nothing to date, has left a stain on the surface of the board.
A little soap and water and it look like new again. The maple is soft enough so its gentle on knife blades but hard enough that I have yet to damage the surface from cutting on it. The quality of the maple and manufacturing of the board is top notch.
I leave my Boos Block out on the counter when not in use as an accent in the kitchen. It’s adds a little flare to the room like you see in those design shows and food magazines. This will be the last cutting board I will ever need.
Over the last 13 years of grilling I’ve used all shapes, sizes and material of cutting boards. A lot of them got the job done but made the cutting process so much harder. My least favorite is the “slip and slide” where you have your cutting board moving everywhere while you’re trying to cut.

I bought two of these to cover my cook top after measuring carefully. Because I have large grills on my cooktop, they didnâ€™t quite fit with the feet on them. My husband ground off a little bit of the round foot on one leg of each of the cutting boards and they are perfect.
One of the fitting problems is specific with my cooktop; the angle of the my cooktop grills is exactly the same as the angle of the leg adjustments on the bottom of the cutting board, making it impossible to find an adjustment without altering the foot.
But, after my husband made the adjustment, they are PERFECT and I love them! They are beautiful and will function perfectly. I love to serve buffet style from my kitchen and they provide an excellent surface.
Also, my counter top space is almost doubled. High quality bamboo. I did oil these and wax them using Boos board cream and mineral oil.
The board itself is nice quality. Make sure you take measurements, I have a normal size stove top and it just seems a bit small, it’s perfect front to back, but seems small side to side. I can’t seem to find a good middle ground with the legs themselves.
They fit nicely on the stove, although they really should have a rubber bottom to keep hold of the stove top and not slide around. The hiegth is higher then I would like with the legs up, and I can’t seem to lower them far enough to make it look really nice, and with the legs off, the whole thing slides around like it’s on ice.
Easy fix would be adhesive on the underside and the stove top. Other then that, this board does a great job, is study, and looks very nice. It is a beautiful piece. I could definitely see this being absolutely perfect for an rv stove.
I have a bad habit of turning on the wrong burner so I was constantly having to replace the round metal burner covers. While looking for a new set after ruining yet another one, I came across the idea of whole stovetop cover and noodle boards.
It seemed like a good option for me since it would require me removing the whole thing in order to use the stovetop, which I donâ€™t use often anyway. Unfortunately, most of these are â€œrusticâ€ or â€œfarmhouseâ€ style, which doesnâ€™t suit my pink and white kitchen.
I came across this one which actually compliments a smaller cutting board I have on the opposite counter. It is kind of expensive but well worth the cost. It is thick, sturdy and seemingly well made.
I donâ€™t use the legs because I want it flush with the counter. The surface is smooth and attractive adding much needed counter space in a very small kitchen. I love the overhang on the front not being a straight board, but having some design to it.
It adds a nice little elegant touch. Quick note, as I said before I donâ€™t use my burners fry often, so I have purchased a small white hot plate should I ever want to make a pot of tea or fry an egg without having to remove the stove board.

This is a fantastic cutting board. Mine stays out on the prep station and gets used constantly, day in and day out. It stands up to continual use, but is easy on my knives. Another thing I like. it’s not a board that has to be oiled a lot.
I have another board from a quality maker, one that I use mainly for meats, and that board must be oiled after every wash. That’s a lot of time spent oiling. Not this board, it really holds the oil. I rarely have to treat it.
It’s a big board, make no mistake, and it can be unwieldy to get to a sink to wash, but that size means plenty of room to work, and it’s heavy enough to stay put. That makes the size worth it. On top of everything else, it’s a good-looking piece to have out.
The retail store that is named after the forest in S America is where I buy a lot of stuff. It’s where many of us buy a lot of stuff. But without a doubt, when I needed this bad boy, Everything Kitchens had a competitive price with the oil to boot.
Came quickly, no problems with packaging. Very happy. The board itself is awesome, the only complaint is that it’s a little tricky to clean because it’s so large. But it’s totally awesome. Don’t have to struggle with boards too small for the work, there’s never been a job that this couldn’t take care of.

I enjoy these cutting boards and think they’ll last for a long time. The non skid foot pads on the downside are really convenient and the material used seems durable. I was able to slightly mar it up after the first use but I don’t see any issue with that.

I was a bit unsure when this arrived, I didn’t really *need* to buy a new board, but this such a clever and robust board that I now reach for often. I rarely use the sharpening part, but nice that it’s there.
What I like most about it is the slightly raised rim on both sides which makes it sturdy on the bench, plus you can flip it over to use the clean side without really squishing any chopping remnants into the bench.
I have been buying these boards for a long time and are disappointed they are hard to find. Just love the Joseph Joseph brand, the items in their range are of high quality and it’s all about taking up less space.

I purchased this as a gift for my husband. The first thing I noticed upon opening was the wood surface was not as smooth as I thought it would be. The grain was really rough on some of the slabs of wood.
I cleaned it per the manufacturers instructions and noticed that some wood splinters came off on the cloth I used for cleaning. I don’t want to use this now I imagine every time we use it wood pieces end up on our food.
I would return this if I could. I have a cheap wood cutting board that was a third of the price that has smoother surface even after years of use.

While I haven’t tried the cutting board yet – It looks like it will work wonderfully though. I did have to tell about the incredible new wonder glue you use for the labels. I spent the last 30 minutes trying to remove the labels from the cutting board.
Are you kidding me? Of course they don’t pull off without fraying and leaving strips of partial label stuck to the board with what I can only describe as a new molecular bond product. I tried scrubbing the residue off with a scrubby which actually left pieces of the scrubby stuck to the cutting board instead.
I also noticed that the parts I was able to remove (and set on my granite counter top). had a similar bond to the granite. I ended up using Goo Be Gone and a bunch of paper towels to remove everything.
I love your products and have bought quite a few but I feel at this point I should be billing you the $48 for the labor to remove your labels. There has got to be a better process.

This is my first wood end-grain chopping board. I’m pleased with it. I only gave 4 stars because the surface was not smooth in some parts of both cutting surfaces and the juice groove was a little bit rough.
After oiling and waxing the board, the real beauty of the wood emerges, but when I clean the excess oil and board cream, small pieces of the towel I’m using get stock in the rough parts of the board and the groove leaving lint.
I saw a review that recommends using a fine and extra-fine sanding paper before using it. I understand why now. I will try that and re-treat it with oil. The board is a good value, but the company needs to do more quality control.
I ordered the Tramontina Teak End Grain Chopping Block. The description said it was pre-seasoned. Of course after waiting 10 business days for it to arrive I expected it would be perfect and it looked very pretty.
until I opened the shrink wrap. As I pulled the plastic wrap back with one hand I ran my other hand over the board to feel it’s smoothness. What I pulled back was wet stain. I thought seriously about taking it back to my local Sam’s Club but, I really had wanted this board.
I could try to get a replacement but what are the odds of getting one as described. pre-seasoned, not wet with stain? I took a pic of the stain on my hand and the smear of stain on the board but, for some reason this app won’t let me load it.
While I don’t have a lot of time for it anymore I happen to know a little about woodworking. I knew how much time it would take to finish the board and get it to where it was supposed to be. the described version in the ad.
I called Sam’s Club customer service. In the 15 or 20 years I’ve been purchasing from Sam’s Club I think this was only the second time I’ve ever had to call them. I spoke with someone who had a heavy accent.
East Indian I think. I have trouble with accents but even so, was able to explain what I had received and the condition I received it in. The person on the other end of the phone apologized as I’m sure is written into the scripts they read, repeatedly.
I was offered to return, exchange or get a 10% discount on the item. None of those options appealed to me. Mind you I know how many days of applying a food grade butcher block oil on both sides of this board evenly is going to take and it’s NOT 10% more effort.
When I asked if they could improve their offer I was told, no. Then, I point blank asked. “Can you give me 25% off the price I paid as a refund?” I was asked to hold. The person on the other end of the phone came back within 30 seconds saying the supervisor had approved the 25% refund.
While I’m still in the process of putting on coats to wait to dry and reverse the board to do it again with sanding in between and multiple coats. meaning this is going to be a 2 to 3 weeks for the work is done and at least 3 days after the final coat before it can be used, I’m as satisfied as I can be I suppose.
The point of my review? As always, caveat emptor my friends. Read the description fully if you want what you paid for and, even then, you might have to work for it a bit more.
Its pretty, but unfinished. It diesnt have a finish on it. I sanded with 200, 400, 800 and 1200, then finished with food grade epoxy. Something this price shoud be a finished priduct, i shouldnt have needed a band aid for a splinter.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and so far haven’t had seen any warping, which was my main concern. I treated it with mineral oil when I first received it and have been alternating use on both sides which I think is helping to even it out.
I also had been using a smaller board previously and didn’t realize how much I was missing with the larger area of this one.
I would highly recommend this beautiful board. It replaced an old, thin cutting board I had for many years. The old board never stayed in place while carving a turkey or roast. Someone would have to be standing nearby to hold the board in place while another person was carving.

John Boos is one of the legendary brands in the kitchen. I’m glad that I finally got one. So fancy! I prefer wood boards for most things. Food doesn’t slide around and they’re easier on your knives (I still use a plastic board for raw meats).
This is a solid, well made cutting board. It should last a long time with proper care and maintenance (hand washing and consistent re-oiling and waxing!). The board was fairly dry when I recieved it.
Luckily I also got the John Boos maintenance kit which includes mineral oil, board cream, and an applicator sponge. I seasoned it for a few days until it wouldn’t hold any more oil before using it for the first time.
It’s a good size for most uses. Could be a little thicker, but that would also make it heavier and more cumbersome. You can’t go wrong with this cutting board.

This is an absolutely beautiful cutting board! This is a very large and weighty piece with a satiny smooth finish. It is of high quality and a very solid piece. It is large enough to prepare multiple food items on it at once.
Clean up is easy and the side area handles provide ease of moving the board to different areas. The care and maintenance kit is a wonderful addition to help maintain the beauty and durability of the block.
There could be storage issues due to the size of it. I am just leaving it on the kitchen counter as it just adds beauty and a wow factor.

Perfect cutting board for our large cuts. We didn’t have a board large enough for brisket, prime rib, pork butts, until this! What’s awesome about this one, is the juice chamber/canal. The juices flow right into it, and there’s even a groove for easy pouring of them! Super high quality feel and look.

We loved our cutting board so much we had to get two more! I only wish it came in another color so we could color code meat and veggies. Green non slip padding would be great! These boards are sturdy, they don’t slip about, and are easy to clean.
The reservoir edge is fantastic when cutting up juicy meats and fruits. No mess!.
Haven’t had this for a really accurate evaluation. However, The groove is super generous and the anti skid edge works under pretty heavy loads. Cleans up nicely, but I’m avoiding the dishwasher. There’s no need for it, and I want to preserve the anti skid edges.
Had an older model for many years and it’s finally difficult to clean due to scratches. Real workhorse. I’d say you can buy this in confidence- as you can all the PC products.
