Before I bought it I had to research which dlc’s come on the disk. So I’ll save you some time. It’s the full game, plus the two expansions Rise of the Samurai, and Fall of the Samurai. They each are a stand alone campaign with many playable factions.
However it does not include ANY of the extra clans for any for the campaigns, and the special units that come with the add on packs. So you will be at a *slight* disadvantage when you go online to versus.
I have fought, and beaten, many opponents without the extra powerful units. It’s a STRATEDGY game and it’s balanced as such-more powerful unit=costs more to field. This, in turn, is a trade off for less men on the field.
Anyway, I thought I would negate some worries about the raging trolls that say that they can’t win without them, when they really suck and don’t want to learn real battlefield tactics. Oh, and you have to play it on Steam.
P. S. You may want to get this instead of Rome 2 for a while. Rome is still in it’s early stages and kinda sucks right now and is unplayable for some (including me-some glitches froze the game and there were a lot of graphical loading issues that only got kinda resolved with patch 3).
After a few months, and patches, then I highly recommend that game too.
After being disappointed with the new Rome instalment (I’ll get back to that in about 6 months once they actually complete the game they were working on). I decided to order Total War: Shogun 2 to satisfy my Total War hunger.
The girlfriend already hates the game because I play it so much. Set in imperial Japan, you play as one of the clans eager to gain power and rule over Japan. As with all Total War games, the diplomacy, town management and war-waging is brilliantly done.
My only complaint is the initial time it takes to get used to the UI and new units (as a fan coming from Rome: Total War), but after a few hours it all sinks in and then you start enjoying the game more and more.
This Gold edition is the ultimate Shogun 2 bundle, containing all the DLC except the Blood and Gore pack, which you can get off steam. 5/5.
These guys are seriously suspect, immediately after my purchase they cancelled it. Saying they don’t take Paypal. And my “low user rating” made me ineligible for purchase. While ebay sent me a message saying I have been refunded.
Laptoppros then sent me a message asking for verification of a bank account. HA! these guy must think I am stupid or something. I bet you the rest of the reviews on this are fake. There is no way they are handing out 10 dollar steam codes, on steam they cost nearly 40 dollars.
Best to stay away from these stool pigeons.

Its a well made game. I was coming from BOTW and looking for a good openworld replacement. Sadly this just didnt measure up. Its a good game on its own but I just couldnt get into it. Plus im not a fan of the gore.
Dead babies coming after you and people hanging from trees everywhere you look. With BOTW I found myself looking forward to playing it. This game however not so much. It has a steep learning curve. There are all sorts of potions and stuff you can learn to make but the gameplay doesnt really emphasize it so you end up collecting a bunch of items with no driver to use any of them.
So pretty much you are walking around from one objective to another with a little bit of slashing monsters every so often. I just dont get this game and all the fan fair. Maybe Im just old, out of touch, and missing BOTW.
The Witcher 3, hands down, are the best game I have ever played in my life for various reasons; first and foremost, the brilliant series of Novels this game was built upon, which gave the game the most powerful and dramatic story I’ve ever seen in a video game.
The storytelling was consistent and amazing, with many different characters, amazing plot twists, and a vast world with different races, realms, and creatures that fight and thrive alongside one another and coexist in the most bloody and spiteful way.
Secondly, the gameplay is Awesome and rich, and precisely implemented to exploit the witcher’s abilities and test the players’ approaches and playing styles. Thirdly, the choices and their consequences; this was a brilliant way of approaching the game by basically saying that there’s no moral high ground here; you are a person who has traded.
A traveler who was traveling along the journey and got to make choices that will benefit you or others the most and have to learn and live with your choices’ consequences. I liked that way more than the ultimate good character or the justified villain, Aka the usual approach to videogame stories.
Fourthly, the DLC’s can easily be stand-alone games story-wise. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are too good to be complimentary; the story is marvelous and rich and tragic, which shows us how witcher’s choices can come to haunt them.
Finally, this game is a work of art, and every gamer shouldn’t deprive him/herself of such a wonderful and rich experience.
Incredibly huge game. May be playing this for years until I finish it. Allows you to change the difficulty at any time. I like that it came with the map, pamphlet and all the little extras. The overall storyline is intricate and and the many components of gameplay- alchemy, bestiary, mini-card game, level up system allows for a lot of challenge.
Not to mention the open world for exploration and ease of teleporting. If you’re a fan of Skyrim or Breath of the Wild this is a worthwhile game to check out. If you’re a PC gamer it may be more worthwhile to download the pc version, as the switch has the worst graphics of all the consoles.
But, personally as someone who loves great visuals the game is not unplayable or ugly by any means on the switch. It’s a tad bit thirsty for a game and maybe more male-user orientated, but paired with the graphics these moments end up feeling more hilariously ridiculous, like trying to make your Sims in Sims 2 woohoo in a hot tub.
There is a learning curve, but if you enjoy being immersed in another world then it’s worth it.

As once said by Joshua. Strange game. The only wining move is not to play. The Campaign mode is a lesson in frustration even on the easy setting. I have played Halo games on Legendary and got through the campaigns.
I have also played Gears on Experienced and Insane. Doom on ultraviolence and nightmare. So I know what fun difficulty can be. However the campaign mode on Battlefield 5 is NOT fun at all. I loved the Battlefield 4 campaign mode.
Luckily I got this “free” with game pass. After a two days of constantly dying by one shot of the enemy and them not dying after three shots from me I deleted the game off my hard drive. I cannot recommend this game for the campaign mode.
You know, I’ve played every Battlefield game ever. I’m not saying that to garner credibility, I’m just saying it so you understand I’m a series fan. I often buy Battlefield games on PC, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
Even the awful Battlefront games. When EA went full blown Social Justice Warrior about pushing females into the forefront of WW2 combat, there was some fan backlash. Then they told the fans that they were uneducated morons and if they didn’t like it, don’t buy it.
Okay, if you follow the gaming industry at all, you know EA is pretty much awful in every sense of the word. Not because of politics, but because they gobble up game studios and force them to churn out unfinished products with ridiculously aggressive monetization of core content through micro-transactions.
Look at what happened to Bioware with Mass Effect 3. EA took a series that basically sold itself on a large scale, and ruined the credibility of the studio and the IP in one pass. So throw on top of that the blatant disrespect to their fan base in Battlefield, with regards to the SJW controversy, and I decided I had enough.
I passed on Battlefield V, as did so many others. EA felt the sting, and hopefully they’ll learn from it. Now, desperate to sell copies of this game, the price consistently drops to $30. Similar to Mass Effect 3, it’s hard to pass up on a AAA title when they drop the price by half, even when you know the reviews are poor generally.
In a moment of weakness, I picked up the game. I still play Battlefield 4 on a regular basis, and occasionally still play Battlefield 1. I had been craving new Battlefield fun, and I love WW2 games generally.
I just couldn’t resist. I threw the disc in my Xbox One X, hooked up to my Samsung OLED 4k TV with HDR. My face tingled as I anticipated the awe inspiring experience of playing a new Battlefield game in 2019 on the best hardware.
Note: I have a beefy PC as well, but I don’t play in 4k generally due to lower frame rates, and Battlefield has a higher player count on consoles. so I understand consoles aren’t strictly the best, but I feel that the Xbox One X really should be the premium experience for this game.
The game pushes you straight into a cinematic single-player tour of the settings, weapons and vehicles. Similar to the introduction to Battlefield 1, it doubles as a very simple tutorial. You start as a paratrooper dropping into a snow covered rail hard under radiant glow of the Aurora Borealis, and quickly proceed to fight the Germans head-on.
You are transported to a sniper nest in North Africa, where you ambush a German convoy with air support. And then, you find yourself as a German tank commander in the same desert setting, engaging in armored warfare.
Here we are, three minutes into the game. I look to the tanks around me, which are engulfed in blocky pixelated messes that I know are intended to be particle effects from the dust being kickced up by the tracks on these monstrous war machines.
The immersion was completely broken for me, and instant disappointment set in. On PC, these things happen. Developers make games with certain hardware in mind, but there are so many different graphics cards, processors, and audio devices in circulation today.
Updating drivers or changing graphics settings to attain desired performance is a part of PC gaming. With console gaming, developers know exactly what hardware you have. My Xbox One X is the exact same as yours.
Generally, console games have far fewer issues in this regard. That’s why I was shocked to see such a glaring graphical glitch on console, and in the mandatory opening sequence to boot. This game had been out for months, and that glitch still exists.
What a let down. Alas, I soldiered onward and attempted to experience the multiplayer gameplay. I was dropped into a snowy mountain infantry battle, eager to take part in the tense battle at hand. I was able to play for approximately five minutes before I experience a truly game breaking glitch.
I took a path around the mountain to flank a large group of the enemy, and I was met with a like minded player on the opposing team. He chucked a grenade at me, and I was blown to pieces. I then fell under the level and my screen bounced around frantically.
The game did not display the normal statistics on death and did not give me the option to respawn. Pressing the start button did not pull up the menu. I watched from underneath the level as other players continued the fight, while I remained helpless.
I gave it a solid three minutes before forcefully exiting the game, as it was my only option. Frustrated with my “Battlefield experience,” I gave it up for the night and was completely disappointed. The next day, I decided to give it another go.
This time, I played an entire match without a major glitch. I thought maybe I experienced something totally out of the ordinary and moved on. Then the map changed. I fought on a city map this time, and the exact same thing happened to me just minutes into the match.
I continued on for a few days, experiencing the awful 8 bit style particle effects on tanks and occasionally game breaking bugs in multiplayer. At its absolute best, the game is mediocre compared to the other Battlefield games.
Not stellar, not awful. It’s unfinished and unpolished, and this is months after the release. It’s unplayable in this state, and that’s unacceptable at any price. I explained the Battlefield experience to you, so you don’t need to buy this game.
There are far less expensive or time consuming ways to disappoint yourself, if that’s what you’re after. Go for one of those instead.
I’ve logged like 72 hours into this game, most of it online. Great online matches that make the war feel alive and chaotic, especially with a Dolby Atmos sound system. The community is pretty big and nice variety of maps with 64 players.
The campaign was enjoyable too with varied stories and characters of lesser known WW2 campaigns, wish they would’ve kept it in Battlefield 2042.

! Introduction ! Sid Meier’s Civilization V is a 4X turn-based strategy game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games and Aspyr Media. The game was released on Microsoft Windows and macOS in 2010, and later on Linux in June 2014.
It is the 5th installment in the Sid Meier’s Civilization franchise that has sold over nine million copies worldwide. ! Gameplay ! Civilization V is challenging and super fun, but it never gets repetitive or boring.
You start of by leading a prehistoric civilization into the future with the help of research, exploration, diplomacy, and military conquest. You can choose from a total of 43 cultures and assume the role of its leader, where each one has two unique combat units and buildings.
Over 6050 years, your small settlement must grow & achieve the victory conditions to win or survive until the end of the game turns, after which the civilization with most game points wins. The end victor is decided on many factors such as population, culture, and technological advancement.
Victory in the game can be attained by focusing on scientific research and building a spaceship to win the space race. Or you may focus on diplomacy and subdue other civilizations. Otherwise, world domination is possible, but other options are more straightforward than this.
In the core gameplay, over the turns, the player has to manage civilian and military tasks. The civic duties include finding new cities, expanding, spreading religion, and building the most magnificent human-made wonders.
On the other hand, the military can be used to raise an army & battle to take over other civilizations. What’s changed? Civ V encourages tactical gameplay after they renovated its warfare mechanism. You cannot stack your troops into a single tile, unlike its precedents, thus allowing different types of strategies to face your enemy and allow flanking.
Now each combat unit occupies one unique space; Therefore, unit positioning is very crucial in Civ V as it’ll require a bit of planning, although it might get tedious to move around each unit in a large force individually.
Once you capture a city, you can place a puppet ruler who will rule in your stead, thus freeing you from governing it and focusing more on warfare. Unlike previous games, the game now wholly divides the map into hexagonal tiles instead of squares, and not only cities defend themselves by firing at enemies, but also, the town expands one or two tiles at a time.
! Diplomacy ! The diplomacy system remains mostly unchanged; you meet other leaders and can trade with them or enter agreements like Co-operation and Pacts of Secrecy. If you are helpful to them, and do the tasks or give them gold, they will provide you with food, culture, or military units.
But if you attack them, they may declare permanent war against your civilization. The system is not perfect either as leaders may suddenly declare war and catch you off guard even without provocation.
The city-states are a great addition to the game. They are not to win the game or take anything over, but they just add complexity to world diplomacy. ! Graphics ! Graphics may not be the most significant concern it’s a a turn-based strategy game after all, but Civ V does an outstanding job on attention to details and its art style.
The map is bright and vibrant and almost feels like a lively virtual board game. Zooming in on fur resource tiles will show foxes sporting together. Mounts and food resources will show sheep, cattle, and horses grazing in their tiles.
Each style of buildings and wonders differs from other cultures and civilizations, which makes the game visually striking. ! The Verdict ! Civ V is the most fantastic and critically acclaimed game by fans all over the world.
It is one of ‘better’ empire-building games that remains unmatched even after ten years of its release. Its also considered among Top 50 games made for PC with over 90+ hours of playtime potential and additional two expansions to add even more.
I highly recommend it undoubtedly. Rating: 4. 4 (4 stars).
There are some installments in the Civilization franchise that can be revisited again and again over the years and decades and always feel like the same wonderful game (the original Colonization, Civilization III, Call to Power).
Unfortunately, while V is a good member of the franchise, returning to it always feels like playing a beta of VI. Unlike so many other other installments, it feel like it was a stepping stone to its younger sibling, with so many of the mechanics being earlier versions of those in VI and so little that is uniquely V.
Great version of the classic game. As a player of previous versions, took a little getting used to the importance of accumulating culture and faith points. And boy: this game punishes you for conquering.
You can still do so, but you definitely pay the price for occupying cities, so it requires more thought. Indeed, the game gives you a push to try for other victories (culture, science, diplomacy). It was frustrating at first to be punished for conquest, but I wound up appreciating that.
Even the screaming sounds when you attack cities makes you feel ashamed of conquest. In sum, I appreciated the less warlike nature of this edition of Civ.

I have played Overwatch before on other consoles and the Nintendo Switch version still runs and looks completely fine to me. I have never felt like the game wasn’t playable or was severely lacking in graphics while playing for over 65 hours.
It is a very fun shooter that is addicting and updated frequently so there isn’t a lack of content in the game. It is also very nice that the physical version came with a Nintendo Switch online membership as you need it to play the game.
If yours expires though Nintendo Switch online is very cheap and very worth it. One thing to know though is that the game is digital only and this is not a physical cartridge in the case. You need to download the game using the code they give you in it.
I would highly recommend this game as it is hours of fun!.
This is bar none the most over hyped game I have ever played. Not only is it over hyped, but due to it being a Blizzard title, it has unfairly garnered many positive reviews without warrant. The balance in the game is atrocious.
99% of games contain some combination of dual Torbjorn or dual Bastion, the two most broken characters I have ever seen in a video game, and unless your team has a Reinhardt (because the other “tanks” are extremely ineffective) you are almost guaranteed a loss because you will not be able to push to objective.
In addition, you have characters like Mcree running around who have ultimate abilities that automatically lock on and instantly kill however many players are currently on the screen. There is no skill in this game, and the characters that do require skill to be played well are rarely chosen.
But why would you, when you can play a character whose auto-attack is to shoot rockets that deal area of affect damage. As long as she hits the ground next to you, she can kill you. I recommend spending your $40-60 elsewhere, ESPECIALLY if you are planning on playing solo.
It is NOT worth it. There is not even a ranked mode implemented yet. There are 4 or 5 maps total, and they are very small. You don’t get to choose which game mode you play. Most game modes are rigged to allow the defending team to completely annihilate the attacking team.
Opposing teams stack the most overpowered characters, because for some reason that is allowed. I literally cannot believe this game made it out of Beta in its current condition. In addition, since it is a Blizzard title, you can bet your money that balance patches will take a very long time to come out, and when they do, the characters you think need nerfing will almost certainly get buffed.
Did I mention the servers only have a tickrate of 20? That means when that sniper shoots at you from across the map, even if he doesn’t come close to hitting you, it will probably count as a headshot.
Have fun.

way better than i was expecting. only played a small amount but ran great on psp, had good sound design and was fun to play. slight issues with compressed sound effects but for psp thats a given. Clearly a licensed game that was made with care.
Definitely worth looking into if you’re curious, but it’s likely better on other systems it was ported to.

Reviews From Real Customers
The #Battlefield series never fails to entertain. Unlike #CoD, Battlefield simulates warfare on a large scale. The campaign modes are not great but the multiplayer gameplay is epic. The maps are huge and rich in places to hide, play sniper or ambush.
Players can also command or ride in numerous vehicles including tanks, APC’s, Jeep’s, fighter jets, attack helicopters and boats. Most armed to the teeth. Where CoD has a more of an arcade feel, Battlefield plays more like a wartime simulation.
Vivid, beautifully rendered and every match plays very differently. Players can configure numerous weapons and classes and can specialize in becoming better at assaulting targets, supporting operations and becoming a deadly sniper.
The game is also a memory hog and will always play better on newer faster systems.
I can sum up why “Battlefield 3” didn’t “hit the mark” for me in just a few words. IT WOULD NOT LOAD UP ON MY WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM COMPUTER. On your review options above, I had to choose simply between the graphics being “Good” or “Bad.
” I chose “Good” from my viewing examples of the game in progress on “U-Tube” and from various written reviews of the game. Also, as I already owned (and successfully play) the excellent “Battlefield 2 – Bad Company” I assumed (sadly very wrongly) that “Battlefield 3” would be similar in its ease of loading and playing.
This strongly led me to purchase “Battlefield 3. ” What a disappointment! In conclusion. I think that the games manufacturers and programmers are increasingly rushing out games without sorting the “glitches” out.
It is such a shame when in many cases, the previous series of the games worked perfectly. Sadly, I’ve been put off buying any secondhand games that were produced after 2010. Fortunately, I do have over a dozen perfectly workable F.
P. S games I can still enjoy! Yours sincerely,.
Let me start this off that I am not a fanboy of any specific shooter, just good games. I have both xbox 360 and PS3 and am unbiased in my reviews as I enjoy both for different reasons. On to the review.
First, I have no idea what all the negative reviews are for. The game isn’t without a few flaws, but in no way warrants a 1 star review. This is EA’s blockbuster shooter that’s set to compete with Infinity Wards MW3 for the calendar year of 2011.
A lot of time an energy went into the game (and they even released multiple betas on all platforms to ensure they were meeting their customer’s demands). Here is what you need to know: Game Specifications: – The game ships on multiple discs.
– Disc 1: CO-OP/Multiplayer/High Resolution Textures (requires 1. 5GB for the installation of the high resolution textures if you want them (THEY ARE OPTIONAL)) – Disc 2: Campaign – Thoughts: The game is enormous and can’t be fit onto one disc.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. You’re trying to run a game on hardware that’s 5-6 years old. Due to the restriction of DVD sizes, compromises had to be made. I’m OK with this and you should be too.
If you have a 4GB console, you may have to opt out of using the high resolution textures. However, the game can still be played without them; it’s just not as pretty. Multiplayer Review: Good: – The main reason many people buy this game is for the multiplayer, which I can say as a Battlefield Veteran that this doesn’t fall shy of expectations.
It plays similar to Battlefield Bad Company 2, which is a good thing. The settings were tweaked from the initial beta release. It isn’t call of duty, so don’t expect it to play that way. It’s slightly slower, meaning that decision have a greater impact to the game.

This is game of the year for good reasons. The additioanal DLC included in this version are independently quality experiences on their own, and the “Heart of Stone” DLC is arugably the best gaming experience I’ve had in ANY game.
The point I like the most is that the character development and storyline are highly driven by the choices you make, and as silly or goofy as some of my choices have been, they don’t feel out of character in a way that makes me feel like I’ve messed up.
You really get a hand in developing Geralt’s story and it feels right, no matter what nice or cruel options you choose. That said, the walking controls might are a bit iffy, especially combined with the unforgiving fall damage, but just be careful around cliffs and you should be all good.
What else can I say except, story is great, gameplay is great, atmosphere is amazing, sound and music is great and the game running at 60fps on the Series X is a whole new world. I have never played a Witcher game and I missed this when it came out, but I can tell you it still holds up and competes with current gen games.
Its actually so much better than many current AAA titles. Not to mention the base game is approximately 200 hours and then you have two extra DLC packages thar make this game even longer! The game is near perfect and the price is right.
If you have never played this before it is definitely worth picking up, even in 2023.

I love playing all of the Far Cry games, they are all so much fun and so exciting! But the Primal game in the series is one of my favorites by far. Even though they are speaking a “ancient”(made up) language it provides subtitles and the graphics are beyond amazing.
The scenery is beautiful, along with the animals. The gore is crazy realistic as well. You have to hunt for your own food to restore your health/energy. Search for different furs, plants, berries and other things to craft to get better and further in the game.
This game makes you feel as if you are right in the game, once you get into it you could be stuck playing for hours and not even realize how much time has went by. If you are looking for a new, fun , exciting, storyline game to get into this is something you should really check out you will not be let down.
I had never heard of this game, it seems it’s a side project to the main Far Cry games. My brother hounded me to get it and I’m so glad I did! It’s fun because it’s different to the usual shoot ‘em up games with war tactics and guns.
You get an awesome bow, spears, and best of all you get to tame predators that become your sidekick (you need it when everything is trying to kill you!) My favourite was the sabre, you can mark enemies and he will run after them and take them down.
You also have a Hawke which flows over and tags enemies for you. Sadly the ending was pretty lame, but all in all I was bummed it ended. It is fun to immerse yourself in a cave man world and do something completely different!!.
When this game was released I was unsure about it, thought it would be rubbish, being a Far Cry fan I eventually bought it. And Im really glad I did. Its much the same as all the other Far Cry games but with no guns or vehicles.
If you are into Far Cry and havent played Primal then I think you will be pleasantly surprised with this one. It isnt as bad as most reviews have said. Go on, get yourself a copy now.

Reviews From Real Customers
I rarely play below normal difficulty, but parts of this game were just too much, even on easy, the first time around. In fact, I probably died more on this game’s easy level than I do playing Call of Duty and most other shooters on Hard.
They throw a LOT at you, and the way bosses become almost common baddies after you beat them for the first time, it’s a challenge. There’s certainly no place for stealth or strategy at any point of this shooter.
The story felt more action oriented than past installments. Even the early games could make me a little nervous when a big bad monster was first introduced. Not so much here, whatever the reason. My only real gripe with the game has to do with the auto-saves.
This game has a LOT of crazy jumping and climbing. I fell a lot. In most cases, it puts you back at the very start of the jump/climb level, rather than close to where you actually fell. As someone who didn’t really like the jumping levels, this was especially frustrating.
In one sequence toward the end I started with full health, ammo and full armor, but fell so many times in the attempt that I drained both health and armor completely and died. When I respawned I only had 25% health 30% ammo, and no armor, which was about what I had when I finished the preceding mega-battle.
But I left the battle area with full health, ammo, and armor, traversed a long corridor, even opened a major door, so returning me to a save so far away was more than uncalled for. Anyway you slice it that was just plain bad programming.
I played this game on the PS5 – the PS4 version will play on the PS5, but it also has a free PS5 upgrade that popped as soon as I inserted the disc. Fortunately, the PS5 controllers aren’t as loose as the PS4 generation controllers always were, so navigating through jumps were a little less frustrating than they might have been had I played through on our PS4-Pro.
The free steelbook that Best Buy included (separately) was nice. I was surprised they still had them. It always pays to buy physical. Sad that younger generations may never know what they’re really giving up buying digital.
Doom: Eternal picks up where the previous Doom leaves off, with the Doom Slayer coming to Earth to fend off the demon invasion. This sort of mirrors the plot of the original Doom 2, but the story is much more fleshed-out here.
The first-person shooting gameplay is more frantic than ever and will definitely put your skills to the test on the Hurt Me Plenty difficulty or above. Earning your resources back during intense skirmishes requires skillful use of melee executions, the chainsaw, and the new shoulder-mounted flamethrower; you’ll need to keep moving constantly in almost every encounter.
Most familiar firearms make a return, although some changes have been made in their secondary functions. such as the Super Shotgun now having a grappling hook which can latch onto foes at mid to close range.
The campaign is a respectable length and there are lots of secrets to find in each level, so expect to have a guide handy to find them all. The new Battle Mode is a welcome addition too, which allows players to fight as the demons.
If you liked the last Doom, you’ll enjoy this one.
Doom 2016 on PS4 was an exercise in patience. The load times were pretty atrocious. They would’ve been acceptable if they only appeared on level load, but dying and reloading would also put you through that lengthy loading screen.
Doom Eternal fixes this issue with the Lives system. Though it does take away from the challenge, it provides a much less frustrating experience. This, combined with more movement and traversal options, helps make for a faster-paced shooter game.
The combat is pretty cleverly designed. When the player is low on health, they can freeze enemies. When they are low on armor, they can burn enemies. And when they are low on ammo, they can chainsaw enemies.
Enemies themselves become resources. The enemy variety lends to natural incentive to use each and every weapon as well. There are 2 mods for each weapon that change how that weapon functions. I myself found a favorite mod for each weapon and never really switched it up but I never felt like I was lacking in combat options.
Altogether these systems keep combat engaging from start to finish. Exploration is worthwhile, providing you with upgrade points, keys, and collectibles. Obtaining all collectibles is made easier with a map that’s broken up into sections and a count of collectibles in each section.
Once you reach the end of a level, you can freely warp from section to section. Story isn’t normally a highlight for the series, and here it’s not much more than save mankind from being overrun by demons.
But it does lead to some grand setpieces and bossfights.

Reviews From Real Customers
Greedfall is mostly a great RPG game to play with lots of quests and the game progression and the story is definitely good. The visuals in the game world looks amazing! What I love the most about this underrated RPG gem is the vast game world with mostly never-seen-before monsters that you get to figure out how to defeat and explore; you get to make critical decisions along the way that could affect the outcome of a quest.
You can make allies or enemies with most of your choices and those choices affects the game world. Overall I recommend this game for anyone that enjoys open world RPG gameplay with quests and new monsters to be explored along the way!.
Spiders have managed to let us down somewhat with past releases, but with Greedfall, they show that they’re getting there! The graphics are solid, the landscapes and cities beautifully rendered. And there’s a lot to see and do! The story is interesting and the political factions keep you mindful of the consequences of your actions.
The recruitable companions are varied, with interesting quests of their own, but there’s a distinct lack of banter between you and them as you’re running around (like in Dragon Age Inquisition). And there is A LOT of running around.
A tedious amount. Quests sometimes seem rather disorganised, zig zagging backwards and forwards (just not thought out properly-). The creatures encountered are rather monotonous and there aren’t a lot of them – some more time filling the world with copious and various mysterious creatures would have helped with the boredom aspect.
The combat is ok, pretty simple, though interesting enough to keep you wanting more combat! All in all, a solid effort! One that takes successfully from other RPGs, just not enough to make it one of the greats! I hope Spiders continues to get better, because they ARE on the right track!!.
Bought this because I head a lot talk on Reddit about it. Only played a couple of hours, but it’s okay. Camera sway when controlling your character is ridiculous, not sure if it can be fixed, but hoping there is an option in the settings.
Graphics are pretty decent considering, this is made by a small developer. Combat feels like it wants to be Witcher 3 mixed with some pausing tactics of old Dragon Age. Character models are pretty ugly, but again you have to give credit due to the size of the company making the game.
I’m going to stick it out and will revise my impressions, but so far nothing about this game is hitting me and my backlog has me more interested. If you can pick this up for $30 or less, I’d say maybe give it a shot.
Go online and watch someone stream/youtube the gameplay to see if this is for you before buying.

Few games are able to deliver an immersive, action-packed and original game concept and still be an excellent experience. Bulletstorm is one of the small selection of games that has managed to pull this off with flying colours.
Make no mistake, first person shooters are rapidly reaching their use-by date and it takes a fresh and original concept to make gamers still want to enjoy them. Bulletstorm does this not by its spectacular graphic or sound design, but by the ability to make a serious game but at the same time, let the player have a ridiculous amount of fun in its world.
You play as Grayson Hunt, the leader of a disbanded squad that has crash landed on a foreign planet. You’ve set yourself the task of killing the ignorant man who used you and your team to murder civilians.
You’ll have to fight a wide range of enemies through a constantly collapsing world in order to reach him. But don’t worry, you’ll get plenty of weapons to help you do just that. Though the weapons are far fetched, the amount of fun that they can bring far exceeds that of a current-time based firearm.
There is something for everybody, including an accurate assault rifle, a quad-barrelled shotgun and even a remote controlled sniper rifle. There is also your leash, which will instantly become your best friend as its power to devastatingly melee enemies in slow motion possesses you.
Combining the power of the leash, melee and weapons is the key to success and is where there is the most fun to be had. The sequences in the middle section of the game can get slightly repetitive but the gameplay quickly regains interest and leads up to a breathtaking climax.
Whilst delivering big with fun and action, the storyline is memorable and has a very serious element to it. Aside from the hilarious quotes and humorous, colourful atmosphere, the story of the game remains strong and the acting from each of the characters is to be commended.
It is difficult to pull off so much diversity in the average game these days, but Bulletstorm is none of the sort. As if the very lengthy single-player campaign wasn’t enough, there is plenty to do elsewhere.
There is a very robust “Echoes” challenge mode as well as a well-structured and addictive multiplayer mode. Also, with downloadable content on the way, you’ll surely get your money’s worth out of this game.
Bulletstorm is destined for multiple sequels and serves as a reminder that Epic Games is one of the most powerful, ambitious and successful game developers around today.
All you have to do is look at Bulletstorm to know its not a game thats much concerned with pushing the art of interactive storytelling to dizzying new heights, but, fortunately, no one is playing this game for the deep narrative, and that helps mitigate issues like extremely convenient coincidences and unnecessary pushes to explain every element of the game world and its characters.
For instance, knowing the backstory on the ammo drop pods and electric leash, or knowing everything thats happened on Stygia leading up to the events in the game, adds nothing to the overall experience, but its mostly used to just fill the gaps in the action anyway, so its forgivable.
For those that care though, Bulletstorm tells the story of Grayson Hunt, a finely coiffed, drunken space pirate, and a few surviving members of his black ops space outfit Dead Echo, who crash land on the bizarrely abandoned, tropical paradise gone wrong, planet of Stygia after bringing down the ship of their previous employer, the gutter-mouthed General Serano.
Hunt and companys primary objective is to track down Serano and execute him, but in the process, they encounters a saucy, ass-kicking woman named Trishka, who just so happens to have a very important connection to Hunt and his crew, and who happens to want to kill to Serano just as bad as Hunt.
Hows that for kismet? Now, a lot has been said about the games extremely explicit dialogue, and rightfully so. This game is filthy, but its the kind of filthy that you cant help chuckling at because its just so damn creative.
And while the dialogue fits perfectly with the games overall, big dudes with big guns tone, theres a slight disconnect between Hunts cutscene story and his gameplay story. One second, Hunt is in a scene, and its all about redemption and reconciliation and then two seconds later hes using highly offensive (if creative) expletives to joyously joke about his horrific, vile, and vicious activities.
Its a bit jarring, and could have been avoided had the game stuck with either being entirely over-the-top, or toned down some of the more absurdist elements.
Bulletstorm isn’t like your other shooters like Call of Duty and Halo, it feels much more like Duke Nukem, where you just tear through people like it’s none of your business. The game I have to admit is very fun, after playing so many “stay behind cover and shoot them all” shooters, this really gets you excited when you rack up some huge points and get into the middle of the action.
The story is also very good, although there are very few characters in the game but you quickly get involved in their emotions and thoughts, so they’re very dynamic. The game plays in acts just like “Gears of War” so the storyline is fairly easy to follow and get into.
Side note: there is ALOT of crude humor in the game and a lot of cursing, I found a majority of it hilarious but it may offend some people (like parents and such =P) The only downside to the game is its lack of long time playability.
There is no multiplayer except for a wave type mode you can play with your friends (but only through Xbox live, so you can’t do splitscreen which really bummed me out). After the story the only thing you can really do is play it over and over again.
There is also a trials type of gameplay where you can try to beat previous scores and get 1-5 stars and stuff. but it’s really all the same thing, killing hundreds of thousands of savages. So, I think this game is far to amazing to not give a 5/5, it’s just fun, exactly what a good game should be, but I would recommend it as a rent game just because of it’s short playability.
I really enjoyed the game, and I’m sure most people will to =).

This is a great package for anyone who wants a comprehensive experience of Monster Hunter World. It contains the Iceborne expansion on the disc along with a code to download the Iceborne Deluxe content.
My only issue is that it is a code and you need to have internet access to claim the bonus content and any updates. It would also have been nice if this included a few other DLC like the regular Deluxe content and bonus outfits and gestures.
But otherwise this is a great package that even comes in a Steelbook case that holds the game well. The gameplay takes some grinding and getting used to but once you feel it click the game can be hard to put down.
It requires patience and coordinated strategies to take down its enemies but you get a real sense of satisfaction when you do it. Great game that you can spend hours on either single-player or online with friends which I still have yet to do.
Immersive, spraling locales. Beautiful environments. Tons of weapon and armor choices. Great monster battles. This game is fantastic. Explore wide open environments use terrain to your advantage, and battle gigantic monsters.
Use parts from the monsters to create weopons and armour to enhance your abilties and fight more dificult monsters.
Have been playing Monster Hunter since the ps2 days, and this has to one of my favorite titles so far. It is very approachable to those who have never played the title before as well. nevertheless, it is still very expansive, and requires some dedication.
It is a very rewarding game, and has some of the most beautiful environments I have seen. Highly recommend! Also, play with a friend!.

After owning multiple copies of this, on different platforms, l and having problems juggling the Rockstar launcher and a platform-specific launcher, such as Epic or Steam, found it far easier to go directly with Rockstar, as using a secondary platform will cause issues.
This happens with GTA and RDR2, but put this down to terrible coding in proprietary launchers, so try to go direct if you can. The game has had some tweaks over the years, which has improved gameplay and running it with an RTX 3080, on max settings, showcases just how smooth and gorgeous the GTA engine is.
Even on a 1080p monitor, the visuals run smoothly, no lag or caching, which can cause stuttering. Increasing the draw distance to max, produces a far better experience, as LS comes to life and looks like a living, breathing city.
Graphics aside, the gameplay is still fun, frantic and very amusing, with the stories of our three protagonists played out. Whilst GTA V is getting on in age, this is Rockstar’s flagship cash cow, with online getting stronger and stronger, with each new update, seemingly gaining more players.
Overall, if you can get this title in a sale, then it’s money well spent. I got this for a song, in Fanatical’s sale and was well worth it. Given it’s age, I couldn’t recommend buying at full price, particularly as GTA VI could be out any time soon, so something to bear in mind.
As I have said previously, if you can get a key for Rockstar version and not Steam, then you will have less issues loading the game. One notable mention is Win 10 and it’s antivirus, which will see many games as a false positive.
You will need to create exceptions in Defender, as it blocks off writing and treats this and many titles as a threat to your system. and run both launcher and game as Administrator. This should make your gaming a bit less stressful, because I was pulling my hair out, getting it running.
The more you know!!.
Even 8 years later, this game is easily one of the best that you can buy. Whilst GTA Online has gone in a direction I don’t like – and wouldn’t really recommend in engaging very much with to complete newcomers by this stage – I can’t ignore that it still has thousands of hours to offer players across a variety of different activities – there’s something for everyone in GTA Online and it will also make them money whilst they’re at it.
Single Player is also undeniably a brilliant experience. Even though it will take you a while to get through to the end of the story, there’s really no excuse for not playing it through at least once.
A lot of us have got a bit tired of this game in the many years since it’s original release, but from an objective point of view, even if this game released for the very first time this year, it would still be one of the best video games ever made and blow us all away.
The driving is much easier than GTA 4, literally anyone can be a decent driver in GTA 5 unless you have brain damage, but I guess it makes it more accessible, lol. Shooting is also much improved and is high quality, and those two elements combined with many others, including but not limited to the excellent map, make this game a perfect sandbox.
Ive bought this game so mamy times lol. Ps3, ps4, now xbox series x and sold and repurchased on top of that. I appreciate the game more and more as we get shuffled so much garbage nowadays in todays gaming ecosystem.
Years ago i knew this game was great but after getting it back recently and actually working on beating the game the attention to details in this game is astonishing. To the world to the characters and the cars the way people react and go about their day it truly is mind blowing especially when todays games dont even come close to the quality this game is.
Couple minor annoyances but just nit picks on my end. No working turn signals on cars and cops seeem to know where you are when your wanted even if your hidden. Still a amazing deep gaame controlling 3 characters that all stories nearly tie into each others.
A MUST BUY.

I sold my regular version of Mortal Kombat a couple weeks ago because I had preordered this one. I knew right when I heard about this coming out that I would want it. As far as I know, it has all the characters included.
I especially wanted Jason Voorhees, Alien, and Predator because I grew up watching all of those movies. I’ve been playing it for just a few days, but I had been playing the regular version of Mortal Kombat for several months.
And I recently played Mortal Kombat like crazy on my 360. The reason why I bring that up is because the Xbox One’s Mortal Kombat looks awesome. Some characters look more realistic while others not so much.
Overall, the graphics are way better than the 360 – as it should be. But I didn’t expect that much of a difference. Game play wise, it’s just as fun as it always has been. I’m not the greatest at the games nor do I understand all that much about it, so I guess I should read up about it as it is not as straight forward for me.
Anyway, great game. Good graphics. Loading times aren’t bad. Oh, when I popped this into my Xbox One, it did have to “update” my Mortal Kombat X to the XL which was about 6gb. Don’t plan on playing this game right when you get it – it may take a while.
Let’s just get this out of the way: Mortal Kombat XL is the best Mortal Kombat, period. It’s deeper, mechanically richer, and more fully featured than any of the nine games before it, hands down. On top of that, developer NetherRealm Studios has taken a bunch of risks by adding eight entirely new characters to the MK roster, while introducing fun, distinct variations to returning ones.
Each of these risks pays off to varying degrees, but they also serve to highlight some of the ways in which the franchise is stuck in the past. As a whole, Mortal Kombat XL is an excellent fighter, and the most fun I’ve ever had with a Mortal Kombat game.
◾Mortal Kombat XL◾ If you enjoy a good old fighting game, look no further as that game will amaze you! Play it with your mates and you’ll have hours of fun or head onto it’s story mode. Love every single character and all the fatality moves! Great combination of gore and graphics 😅 love the old arcade game but this latest installment of Mortal Kombat XL and 11 took it to a whole new level🔥🔥🔥 “GET OVER HERE!!!”.

Leaving off from God of War 3 and the Greek pantheon store line, I found kratos in new territory and looking more grizzled (bearded etc). I found the new storyline to be a absolutely essential continuation of the series.
The whole game was absolutely refreshing. From the combat, to the in-game cinematic sequences, I was on the edge of my seat everytime I picked up the controller to play it. I definitely would recommend this game to anyone loyal to the series and it’s upcoming sequel, which is also set in the same Norse setting, looks to be on track to be just as good if not better.
I’m no developer nor a pro-gamer just a real big fan of this series and I feel it is a great step forward in the future for God of War.
One of the best (if not the best) games of this console generation so far. This is a dark, mature action adventure game that will last around ~20-30 hour game (with no filler content) depending on how much you explore, and difficulty level you selected with emphasis on quality over quantity.
The game has a very nice pacing/progression system that feels very natural. The game does not hand hold you, or set you to your own devices; rather gives you enough information to figure things out on your own Different from past God of War (GOW) games is that, this game is a over shoulder 3rd person view vs isometric view (camera with birds eye view panning in and out).
The camera is very tight fixed, and behind kratos making it more grounded and personal. Entire game is pretty much one-shot (assuming you don’t get any game over screen). The game has beautiful environment and the lighting is very impressive.
It runs 1080p 30fps on PS4 (original or slim) 4k 30fps, and performance mode 1080 60fps (dips at times) on the PS4 Pro If you play on PS4 pro it’s preferred you play at 30fps. The combat this time around is less combo based than past games, and more methodical as it’s more about precision hits, quick turns*, and dodging; being aware of your surroundings due to the fixed over the shoulder view.
So 60fps is not really necessary unless maybe you’re playing on the hardest difficulty mode. * For quick turns there’s a learning curve to keep form being disoriented during right corridors. Sound is amazing.
Get your headset or home theater system ready because you’re in for a treat as the game has really nice surround sound option. Does not support 3D audio in the PlayStation Platinum headset which is disapointing.
Hope they add it in, in the future. Music typical for GOW games with drums, string instruments and orchestral vocals that really gets you pumped up There are some audio ques that help unlock hidden items so keep an ear out Interaction/dialogue with kratos and his son feel very real and not dialed in or exaggerated.
very nice banter between the two and other characters as well -Story: As mentioned before, very mature yet dark. The story is more narrative driven and has more character development than past games where you’re just full of rage and kill everything in sight.
Each character has complex motivations in what they’re set out to do Takes place in Norse mythology instead of Geek The main plot is that Kratos’ wife has died and she wants her ashes spread from the highest mountain Kratos takes his son with him on this journey and through a bonding experience they both grow stronger as they reach their final destination.
the journey isn’t that simple as it seems as there are twist and turns along the way and enemies they have to face You do get some insight on how Kratos reach this land after GOW3, but it’s sprinkled throughout instead of one long exposition Side quests brings out lore of the game and also way to upgrade your skill tree There are boat sections in the game where Kratos gives his son life lessons, conversely his son gives inside knowledge of the world he learned through observation/what he learned from his mother; which makes you more invested in the characters.
-Gameplay The combat has a lot of layers/options to it. Instead of Quick Timed Events (QTE) there’s a stun meter which which needs to be filled up for kratos make his signature final finishing moves on enemies.
Feels very natural as you don’t get a huge button prompt the middle of the screen I like how the core combat is mapped to the trigger buttons instead of the face buttons making combat feel more natural There’s a skill tree that cater to how you want to play: defensive, offensive, focus on physical or magical attacks, range vs close combat, master a weapon over the other, etc You can upgrade weapons and armor by collecting materials Kratos’ main weapon this time around is the leviathan axe (very similar to Thor’s (Marvel movies/comics) weapon Mjolnir) instead of his chained blades of chaos.
You can throw the axe and have it call back to you like a boomerang. You can swing and throw the axe at enemies and fun to master as you have to judge the timing of when the axe will return to you as without your axe you may only have your bare fists to do battle till it comes back There is some strategy involved especially in the higher difficulty settings.
Some enemies are super effective against certain weapons/skills you have to be aware of Krato’s son comes along with you on the journey and is able to help with by stunning/detract enemies with an arrow which you can control the activation.
Overtime as he becomes more experienced in combat more options are available. He’ll also yell out tips when needed** or jump onto enemies to slow them down. Also you can view his journals after you defeat an enemy to find out hidden weaknesses **Seeing the camera is so tight, he’ll give you tips you are not able to see at times due to blind spots Armor and clothes can be crafted, purchased, or upgraded via dwarf blacksmiths in game.
It changes krato’s physical appearance in game. Some armor/clothing piece has slots for enchantments which effects stats Enemies attack you gorilla style as they can attack at anytime they want instead of gathering up in a circle and attacking one by one.
Each enemy have different variety of skills, health, size, weakness and speed There are backtracking at times that builds on exploration. Also the environments sometimes change when going back making the location feel different yet the same.
There’s also hidden areas you cannot access until you get a particular item giving the game this somewhat of a metriod-mania style to it Through mini objectives like kills specific about of enemies to get exp rewards Side quest gives you glimpse of story narrative, exp gain and or material.
It doesn’t feel like fetch quests or something you have to do to directly upgrade your character. There’s no fluff and the side quests does not feel tacked on as it feels necessary, yet optional You’ll naturally stumble onto some side quests as the map only shows an overview of the land with a compass that points you to your main objective.
Fast travel is limited, making exploration in the forefront. There’s not too many side quests making it feel open and direct at the same time As of this review, this is best PS4 game in my opinion. Sets a new standard for video games.
A perfect combination of character driven story and methodical well-paced combat gives an unforgettable experience set to the backdrop of epic Norse mythology. Open to newcomers and veterans of the series alike, GoW 2018 provides a refined, captivating experience with large scale set pieces and diegesis unrivalled in most other games of the genre.
The only limitations come in the form of some combat-centric camera issues, and some enemies that break the mechanical limitations of the player leading to minor frustrations. Some odd narrative pacing often leads to long down times in active play, but often this is compensated for by interesting glimpses into the world.
The combat shines in 1-on-1 arena type fights but provides enough variety and style to make horde type battles enjoyable. If you have a PS4 (or PS5 for that matter) you should play GoW.

I have to say that we’ve came along way since the first ps3 into Ps4, Xbox one and now tah tah again now on PlayStation 5 and currently also on Xbox series X. Grand Theft 5 has ran its course with that being said that it’s time for rockstar to release Grand Theft Auto 6.
This version brings you really some so so improvements of graphics and frame rates and a little more. I played this a lot on my PlayStation 5 just to experience this on my console. Guys you’re not missing out on anything with this next gen version.
The only improvements that really stick out in polishing are the vehicles and full lighting and cleaned up graphics into this old game. It’s sad that these companies milk out their older products with making it into a cash cow greedy situation.
The price isn’t worth it right now and it’s just better to wait for this version to drop in price of 19. 99 just like the last generation version are being sold for.
Second review I do got the account, minor inconvience but its worth it. You will get a russian email account linked with epic games of russian region and xbox games pass ultimate key, which was apparently fake, more on that later So what you have to do, Login on that Epic games account, go to settings change everything name , email adress password region everything.
And if you want that russian account for discovering stuffs i kept it ia fine change password and name there too. Then what it you own it and i got it fresh, i logged in with fresh rockstar account it was good to go, I thought it was a Scam, but hey its not.
Do i recomend , depends on situation. For me it was an experiment and it was kinda success but not 100% Second part of the story, xbox game pass key, when i try to reddeem it, it says its already been used.
So no use of that, im gonna contact support for this issue and if I got it fixed then, I will write a third review.

This is definitely closer to Uncharted 4 than Breath of the Wild — at least for the first several hours. I haven’t made it super far into the game, but early on you’re not really allowed to explore the world.
It’s very linear and scripted, but the game itself is sorta blended with the “movie” aspects, so it has a nice seamlessness style with it. An apt comparison to Zelda games, though, is all the puzzles.
It’s all very environmental and blended into the scenery, and you have to solve the puzzles to move forward through the world kind of like a permanent zelda dungeon. The only awkward part — besides the sorta painfully obvious tropes — is how there’s so much restriction to go along with the story.
Again, I don’t know if this is only the first portion of the game, and I just haven’t made it to where things open up further. but it reminds me so far of being like a much much much more restricted version of “Horizon: Zero Dawn”.
That too has an early story part, and of course Breath of the Wild has the plateau, but they’re really just restricted portions of the game that teach the mechanics. God of War, though, feels like it’s restricting sooooo much so that you can follow along the story — a lot more like an Uncharted kind of game.
You basically follow a super limited path until you get to an open-ish area, and then that area turns into a big fight arena, you beat the baddies or maybe fight a boss or mini boss, and then you move forward with some puzzles and bonuses if you’re willing to explore and look for stuff on the side.
but if you look around toooo much, you’ll find that there’s basically nothing in most places. I’m still early in the game, and it gives the impression that the game opens up and places become areas to return to and go through again, but I haven’t seen any of that yet, and with the amount of time I’ve put in so far, games like “Horizon: Zero Dawn” and “Breath of the Wild” would have already opened up to the “open world” aspect.
Basically, it’s like an Uncharted version of “Horizon: Zero Dawn” that’s promising the open world freedom and side missions and things, but maybe it’s just a different kind of balance between freedom and story, and this is just leaning more towards story.
The axe is super friggin’ dope, though, and playing on harder difficulties really requires you to coordinate a LOT to deal with even just 2, let alone 15 baddies at the same time. Especially as you have like flaming rock throwing monsters on ledges and crazy shielded monsters and running around hyper monsters, and it’s just like 20 things happening at once, which is awesome.
It’s challenging, but it’s not infuriating, because it basically comes down to forcing you to act like a movie action hero. You have to toss baddies into other baddies, throw your axe up at the ledge baddie’s head then kick the monster in front of you, call your axe back and follow up the kick with a smash, and just power through like it’s a crazy coordinated fight scene.
It’s a really really neat learning curve and style for success. There are ways to possibly hide or run in and smash and run out, but that’s really only possible with the big troll bosses, because it’s kinda how they’re designed to be fought.
For the regular fights, you can’t really “cheat”, because everyone sorta has a pattern, and you’re meant to jump between each type of baddie so that the timing of their attack patterns lines-up with your attacks and you don’t get destroyed immediatley.
If you try and cheap-shot from a distance, it’s like a weird timing thing where you have to wait for the pattern to loop and jump in once every loop. It’s possible, but extra extra tedious, and it’s basically an indication that you’re doing the game wrong.
You shoulda planned better and looked cooler. Super self-contained and not sure how replayable it’d be, if you just rush through games, but it’s worth going through it and it seems pretty well stuffed to be worth the playthrough.
I loved the God of War games when I was growing up and I was excited to see a reboot done to the series, but was wondering how it would be approached in this era. They have done an absolutely amazing job with this game, if you have not played it yet, it is worth picking up, especially at the PlayStation hits price.
The game has a much more mature tone while addressing the dynamics of father and son relationship as they progress through the game. But if you loved the hack and slash aspects of the old games, you will not be let down here either.
The weapons are very well done, and fun to use, plus you learn to integrate your sons bow into your combat style.

I have over 100 hours into this game and feel like I have enough experience to write a solid review. Pros: Different style of weapons and armor, lots of options Very satisfying when you finally beat some of the harder monsters The monsters themselves are pretty cool, extraordinarily athletic for their relative sizes Cons: There’s no pause.
Seriously. This is so stupid. You’re given a time limit and if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of a monster fight, no pause. Kiddie type feel to the gameplay, you have a pun making cat for a partner, have to watch childlike cut scenes every time you eat and the handler might as well be straight out of a cartoon.
The graphics and environments aren’t that impressive (definitely not compared to Witcher 3) The game is a grind, kill monsters over and over and many times the same ones. Upgrade your equipment, repeat.
Lots of things aren’t explained well at all, like how to use the trees for weapons, when you actually use the insects/kinsects. The speaking of the characters is a huge disappointment, they don’t even speak half the words.
The storyline isn’t very good either. There’s a ton to this game and the learning curve is fairly steep I was overloaded with information the first 10 hours or so. Overall I do enjoy it, but it is a huge time commitment and only for those that enjoy grinding.
MHW has been garnering a lot of praise, and rightfully so. It’s fun, it’s huge, plenty to do, and many reviews have mentioned its friendliness to newcomers. As a newcomer myself, that last bit was important to me, and if you’re new to the series, this is a great time to begin your monster hunting.
with a caveat. One needs to be fully aware of a couple of things before taking the dive. 1) it may be friendly to newcomers, but it IS an in-depth game that has a simple premise, but requires a lot of experimenting and learning from mistakes.
Friendly it is, but forgiving it is not. 2) this is not a game to pop in for short bursts. It requires time when you load it up. Hunts can eat up 45 minutes, only for bad luck (close to a kill when a roaming monster stronger than the one you’re hunting suddenly stumbles upon your epic battle,) to intrude and you need to begin anew.
If you enjoy “Souls” style games, MHW will be somewhat reminiscent. You’ll learn from mistakes in battle or realize you chose to carry the wrong weapon for this hunt, OR realize after several attempts that you need to level your gear some and have to halt the hunt altogether while you take on sidequests to earn gear upgrade points.
MHW may feature a lot of action roleplaying fundamentals, but beneath it all is a tight tactical simulation that requires you to memorize your prey’s attacks and when they’ll use them, what PART of the body is weakest on them, and to save it all to memory so that if you fall, you’ll return to the hunt a better hunter.
The creatures and gameworld are gorgeous- one of the few games I wish I had a PS4Pro and HDR to see it even further in depth. But, the beauty goes beyond graphics. There’s a level of immersion involved thanks to not just seeing creatures of different types interact in the wild as you explore, but even to the loot system.
Looting makes sense, in a BIG way. You can, on many creatures even cut off their tail. But, if you need a creature’s tooth for an upgrade, attacking it’s head to “loosen” it up will increase your odds.
Fighting a creature that breathes fire? Find a creature with natural fire immunity and hunt them until you have the materials you need. Fighting a venomous creature? Odds are those poison arrows are worth about as much as a regular arrow.
Fighting a creature who can fly? Attack its wings to prevent it from taking flight. And much of this common sense approach helps offset the MANY things that MHW WON’T be newcomer-friendly about. If you don’t enjoy discovering things that many games consider necessities to teach you, then despite the reviews, it may not be for you.
Unless you’re willing to search the internet for. If you have patience, if you’re looking for a game and world that will keep you sucked in for untold hours, then you owe it to yourself to take those first steps into Monster Hunter World.
