20 Best Colors To Wear With Black Hair (2023 Updated)

The whole Developus/Satin line is extraordinary. I discovered it in a small beauty supply store in Sherman Oaks California that sells to a lot of movie and television hair and make up professionals. I was standing next to a woman who stood with about thirty boxes of Satin and who was the lead stylist for the TV series, Friends.

The colors are stunning, but the shine is over the top, probably due to the aloe vera/silicon components. Make sure you use the Developus developer along with the Satin color. Developus makes a developer formulated especially for gray hair.

I do my own color, but have my hair cut by a very good stylus. That saves me about $125 at the salon. Based on his observation of my color, my hair’s luster, and how well Satin handles gray hair, he started using it in his salon.

It’s actually targeted for professional use. I was lucky to find it.

The quality of this product is very good. I used the correct concentration of developer to color ratio on a test spot. it did not lift my hair. I haven’t been able to achieve HI lift color ( any brand)( and I have tried every brand) on my hair since I have had more grey hair because my dark level 6 has gotten darker with hormonal changes.

That being said I believe this product is a good value and is high quality, but unfortunately i cannot use high lift colors on my hair any longer. I went back to my stylist for partial foils with bleach is the only way to lighten my resistant dark hormonal hair and tone the grey highlights to blonde.

If you have virgin hair that is the correct level, you should have good results!.

I give this product 5 star because it works great, vegan option, and covers grays. I give it zero stars for color. it is brown. not mahogany (a reddish bown) not violet. B. r. o. w. n. Quite dissapointed with the color.

I would not recommend this product if you are going for the reddish violet color. I would recommend if you want brown.

Oh wow this colour is intense and so beautiful! I am growing out my grey, I have waist length hair, there was a stark root line of my natural dark brown to black growing down so I needed something along the lines of grey to blend in the blonde.

This colour worked perfectly! So easy to use and leaves the hair shiny and luxurious colour, blended perfectly. I totally recommend this product and this colour, but there are many beautiful colours to try in the range! This works fine for me! So happy in so glad I found you online.

It’s a gorgeous colour, I also purchased another colour too! I was a little worried to use it because it was a different consistency to the other direct dyes I use (maintaining light pink hair is a pain) but I really enjoyed it actually.

Instead of a solid colour, it was actually clear/translucent pink. It has great pigmentation and gave me exactly what I was wanting. My only issue is that the bottle was smaller so I had to buy multiple, but for the price it’s definitely reasonable.

For some reason it won’t let me select the color I used. I have this in magenta. When I tested the color I was pleased that it had more of a purple than red tint. It says to leave it in your hair for 20 to 40 minutes but I’ve worked with fantasy colors for decades and usually leave them in for 3 to 4 hours.

My first run through I left it in for 40 minutes and my hair is a level 11 to 12. The color that came out I was too embarrassed to even take a picture of. It was splotchy and a beautiful dark magenta in places and then a pukey pink color everywhere else.

Even if I had you to protein filler it still would not have applied the color correctly. It’s a super thick formula that is hard to spread but it does look beautiful in the balls shiny and bright. I actually ended up using another tube which is insane because my hair is not that long.

It also smells like a wet dog and it’s hard to get that smell out of your hair. Bottom line there was nothing I liked about this formula or the color. I immediately start doing olive oil soaps and Dawn dish soap to pull as much color as I could out.

It fades super bright. I’ve already managed to get it to at least a bright bubblegum pink color. I am however planning to remove it with a bleach bath. I’ve never really been a big fan of ion colors to begin with but I got this for free from a friend so I decided to try it.

I will stick with punky colors as is my favorite.

Alright, Summer Hair Hair, and she was a Beaute! Couldn’t have asked for prettier summer hair. So what did we work with? Well, alot, let’s run down the list: -Iroiro: Seafoam, Aqua, Neon Yellow (not pictured) -Ion: Cyan (mixed with Aqua) -L’OREAL Effasol Color Remover -Select Care 10 Clear Developer First, Iroiro is everything, it’s about 2x better than Artic Fox at a slightly cheaper price.

Ion is so-so, but man, do they have some AMAZING colors, just wish they would fix the crappy formulas. But they’re cheap, so, you get what you pay for. The color remover, TOP TIER the ONLY color remover I will EVER use.

I almost find it better and safer for at home use than bleach. Non-pros have to order it on Amazon, but it’s worth it ladies and gentlemen. The the developer is developer. As for how long this lasted.

Iroiro last the longest out of all of them. I do little to maintain longevity in my hair because I love changing it (as you can see) but so far it’s been 8 weeks(?). so try and guess which picture is the 3 week one (lol, it’s not a hard guess, lol, and little secret, I have done nothing to extend it, literally nothing).

I love the color choices in the Ion line. I am current trying out the brilliance line to see if it has more staying power. I currently am using this color and the Fuscia Permanent Hair Dye. While I absolutely love the color choices, I hate how fast I have to re-color.

My hair does grow fast, but not three weeks fast. I will have at least 2-3 inches of root growth that needs to be touched up. Most especially around my ears and temples. Does this compare to Wella? No, however it is always troublesome to find my color choices in the Wella lines at my local Sally’s.

I find myself either going to 2 stores, or nabbing all they have when I can find them. Great Colors, dull and needing re done way too fast.

A great hair color at a great price. I am not African American but this product does very well for my Middle Eastern hair. It is watery enough to spread well and it colors within 30 minutes the most stubborn grays.

No hair fall like other products either. I use the jet black shade and no harsh odor either. The cream conditioner that comes with the product needs to be used very little at a time unless it would make the hair too greasy.

I have been using this particular brand to color my hair for almost 7 years and have no complaints. I typically will die my own hair and have been for several years. Yes, my hair is natural and curly and dark brown is my natural color.

I will say that this product does not work for every hair type. I’ve had women tell me that they use the same product but with different results. I will also mention that I have never used the recommended time for leaving the color in my hair.

My hair does not take to hair coloring well so the typical 30-45 minutes never works for me. For those that indicate the product has not worked, I suggest using another product like Crème of Nature product.

This product works, But like many Hair dyes even if it comes with a booster highlighting package. It’s a waste of time and Funds Lady if you recently dyed your hair with a dark brown medium brown or black.

So if you are trying to go lighter with dark dye in your hair. Use color oops and dye it the next day after deep conditioning. You will get the color you want. Also put a plastic bag over your dye while processing.

I have never been so impressed with a dark hair dye in my life. I bought the juniper green and used it to dye a chunk of my hair. The texture of the dye itself is very thick, and therefore less likely to drip and splatter.

It smells fantastic, almost like something you would find in an apothecary. I had previously made the mistake of using splat and completely ruining the bathtub, but this dye took maybe a minute before the water ran clear, and what few stains were left behind came out effortlessly with a magic eraser.

Despite the lack of sticking or transferring of dye to skin, this looks FANTASTIC. The color is vibrant and absolutely gorgeous (photos of the dye itself on the website are very accurate), and while I’ve only just done it I’m eager to see how long this lasts.

Not only that, but I used this on freshly-bleached hair and the dye itself made it feel softer and look less damaged. Stunning, impressive, I can’t even begin to dream of going back. Absolutely stellar product.

This is probably one of the worst hair dyes I’ve ever used. I mixed it with the Blue Velvet because I wanted a slightly more blue shade. It came out a little dark and more purple, but that would have been fine if it didn’t get absolutely everywhere.

I dyed my hair back in August and the dye still stains everything. If anything touches my hair, it will stain. And whenever I wash my hair, which is only every couple of weeks because I have naturally coily and damaged hair, more dye comes out.

I rinse until the water becomes clear and it will still stain something later. Up until like a week ago, my fingers still turned blue when I scratched my head. And the worst part is that when I straighted the front of my hair, some of the dye must have come off because some strands turned blonde again.

I still have a full container left because I did a 1:1 ratio with the blue velvet, and I don’t know what I’m going to do with it. The only reason I gave two stars was because the color was pretty.

Dude this is the best and most coverage hair dye I’ve ever used! Even for its size, when I had shoulder length hair hardly even used a full container, now I use 1/3 for my short hair. I tried Arctic Fox before I learned about this and the color would wash out first wash! I have used Lunar Tides over a year now and I’m AMAZED at how long the color holds.

I have naturally thick dark brown hair so to use a product I can put right over without bleaching first is a key thing. Plus it softens my hair and smells good. I’ve used black, blue, green, pink, orange from them so far and I love the way my hair looks and feels and the fading of colors doesn’t look ew either.

My hair is naturally really dark brown but has been bleached heavily to get platinum so very damaged. I used this dye over faded dark red brown and I’m in love. It’s more red than my previous red which I adore because I didn’t think it would be vivid like the box said.

It definitely is. Colour payoff is excellent. Easy to use, instructions were straight forward. The smell is really nice I think the conditioner you get with it is the smell that stays in the hair and it smells like a standard nice conditioner.

The red dripage from washing it did get everywhere but it washes off with water. Took longer to wash out than to apply. Ignore the rinse out instructions just cold water shampoo twice then use conditioner.

If you don’t want it to fade always wash hair with cool water not freezing and definitely not hot. Try to wash your hair once or twice a week no more so that you won’t need to dye it as much. My hair is so soft it’s still somewhat dry but that’s because it was bleached a couple months ago.

The only transfer I’ve had was on my towel when drying it but haven’t had any more transfer so far so I think I’m safe on that. I used two boxes on waist length hair, one on roots other one on mids and ends.

I have used Olia a few times now so I know how it works. I had previously used very intense red 6. 66 on ash blonde hair and let it wash out 80% to 90% before putting this rose shade in. I naturally have Ash blonde and grey hair in my 50s.

I used 2 boxes on mid shoulder length hair of this pink shade. This did lighten my hair to a very peachy, candy floss faint pink that was really patchy. There is only about 10% pink colour. It’s definitely not what is on the box, considering I did let my previous colour wash out to very light almost blonde again.

I am in NZ and had it shipped over from Australia as this colour isn’t available here,but I won’t be using it again. Quite disappointed really. I will wait about 4 to 6 weeks and put in either a red or a light brown to cover this.

For now I will have to just disguise it with a messy ponytail with long side strands or some beach waves made with my ghd. I don’t recommend this product at all. I even googled videos of people reviewing this product before using it too.

Most didn’t like the result. I don’t think there is enough colour in this product in the end. I think it has actually wrecked my hair sadly.

I have very fine (but ample) wavy/puffy hair that goes to my mid back. It’s naturally about a dark/medium brown that sun bleaches easily. I used to dye my hair with N4 and vol 20 developer but my hairdresser said my natural colour is so close that it’s not worth the damage I was causing.

Because of how fine and wavy my hair is it just doesn’t react well to any kind of harsh chemicals and quickly becomes dry and brittle. My hairdresser suggested transitioning to a semi and this product is almost perfect! Yes, it doesn’t last as long as permanent but I really like how it allows my natural tones to still show vs the solid single tone you get from permanent.

You don’t get the harsh grow out line and there’s zero long-term damage risks. I have like 5 grey hairs and it doesn’t do a whole lot for them but it does blend them for the first few washes. I’ve removed a star because it bleeds every time you wash your hair and by the time the bleeding stops the colour is gone.

I wanted to love this SO bad. It’s so easy and convenient. I could have touched up my hair anytime and any day of the week with ease. However- This is neither “medium brown” OR ashy. Total BRASS PALE BROWN, if you can call it brown at all.

This product was absolutely awful. I also tried the black. Again. black is NOT black. At best, it came out a brassy medium brown. So so so disappointed.

After years of using curl mousse products, it’s definitely the best one i ever had !!! First, the smell is gorgeous, and i couldn’t stop smelling my hair even one day after using it, that’s how divine it is ! Second, the texture is so smooth !! Really felt amazing compared to the other mousses i tried ! And let’s not forget the result ! Which i am very happy with, did help making my curls look nice and did not make huge and hard bulks of hair or anything as some would have done from what i used to have before.

Definitely recommend, think i’ll stick to this one from now on !! :).

I’ve dyed my hair at least a dozen times, but it’s been a while. I used Féria’s Coral Pink in March without issue, so I thought blue hair sounded fun and picked up Féria’s M10 Cosmic Azure.

I’m not going to knock off any stars for the dye being more dark blueberry on my hair, rather than the more purple blue on the box, because I had previous dye on my hair. But I will dock it all the points for the terrible formula.

It came with a scent ampoule, but that didn’t help. The dye made my eyes water profusely and my husband even commented on it. The dye dripped everywhere in my shower. I was able to clean the tile with bleach and CLR Mold and Mildew, but some of the grout is still blue.

While it was incredibly drippy, it didn’t penetrate hair well at all. I used almost the entire bottle of dye, rubbing it into my hair for 10-15 minutes, then waited another 10-15 while I cleaned blue hair dye out of the shower, and I still have areas where my hair is still brown/coral pink.

I would repeatedly work the dye into my hair and could see it wasn’t penetrating like you’d expect the dye formula to do. I do NOT recommend this dye and am now thinking about a nice, boring dark brown next, maybe not from Féria’s line.

Ive used this brand of hair dye since the very first time I dyed my hair at age 15 and its always been my favorite. Ive tried other brands through out the years but nothing looks as intense or lasts as long as this brand does.

The last year or so ive been using the power violets collection and they’re so beautiful! I love how intense the color comes out and it doesnt strip my hair at all. Along with the products to dye your hair they also include a shampoo and conditioner which make my hair so super soft and shiny! I wish I could buy it in full size bottles but I dont think they make it.

These dyes do have a strong scent you need to use them in well ventilated spaces. I usually have a fan going to help with air circulation. After using this dye I don’t experience any bleeding of color on my skin or clothes.

The color lasts for months on me before it really starts to fade. For reference I wash my hair once or twice a week. (But I shower more then that lol) I dye my hair around every 3-4 months. This is a great hair dye and I’ll definitely continue to use it.

Color is definitely more black than dark brown. The price is excellent, you get a generous amount of product and it works in 5-10 minutes. However it is NOT drip free so it’s harder to use. If the consistency was thicker it would be almost perfect.

Ive used this product for many years and never had any problems. My edges are mostly gray and although Im 67 yrs old Im not ready to embrace the gray. Its mild enough to use on permed hair. Im all natural now and it does the job all the time.

I will not use anything else.

I received this hair dye to trial as part of the Beauty Review Crew. I have used this brand of hair dye a few times over the past couple years. In particular, I have used the shade ‘Darkest brown’ which is the same shade I’m trialing today.

The shade has always been is a lovely vibrant colour and the colour result is similar to my natural hair colour. The dye promises to 100% grey hair coverage and it lives up to its promise. Preparing the dye for application is nice and easy.

After applying the gloves that are included in the packaging, you pour the colour formula into the bottle of developer before placing the lid back on and shaking the bottle until completely mixed. It’s that easy! Then starting at the roots, you evenly apply the dye.

The dye goes on smoothly and, surprisingly, the dye scent isn’t as strong as other brands. Other brands tend to have a strong chemical smell which makes my eyes water and nose tingle when breathing it in.

Clairol have done a great job at producing a hair product with a low scent. One of the best things about Clairol’s nice n’ easy hair dyes is the short processing times. Unlike other brands that have a processing time of upwards to an hour to reach your desired shade, these dye have an average processing time of just 25 minutes.

The short processing time means you can dye your hair during your lunch break, before a night out, or before a date, without it taking up too much of your time. The rinsing process is also quite a smooth and easy process.

After applying some warm water, give your hear/head a little massage and then rinse until the water runs clear from all the dye. It normally takes around two minutes for the water to run clear. Then using the conditioning Clairol conditioning treatment that comes with the hair dye, you apply from roots to tips and leave for a couple minutes before rinsing.

The conditioning treatment has a lovely scent and is nice and thick. It’s almost like applying a luxurious hair mask. It glides onto the hair smoothly and evenly. After rinsing the conditioning treatment you can instantly feel how hydrated you hair feels.

Dying your hair often dehydrates it and your hair can feel a little worse for wear. Clairol’s hair dyes are gentle on your hair and the conditioning treatment prevents damage and keeps your hair hydrated and feeling lovely.

After towel-drying my hair, I blow-dried my hair until was dry. Looking in the mirror you could instantly see how vibrant and lovely the hair colour result was, and it looked and felt really healthy.

I am always so very impressed with the results every time and I often get compliments from friends and family members. As my hair grows fairly quickly, I use this product every 2-3 months to help cover grey hairs.

Despite dying my hair so regularly, my hair has remained healthy and manageable, and hasn’t compromised my hair in any way. The only downside I can mention is that the dye stains your skin. Normally hair spray or acetone on a cotton ball or cotton pad helps remove hair dyes from skin but I found this dye to be lot stronger and barely budged from the skin.

I also tried scrubbing with soap and dishwashing detergent but the dye only faded slightly. It took a few days of scubbing before the dye faded completely. The best thing of all about Clairol’s Nice n’ Easy hair dyes are they cost just $9 from your local supermarket.

Sometimes, you can grab them on special for just $6! SIX BUCKS! Now that’s what you call a bargain! Why pay $200+ t an expensive hairdresser when you can get almost the same results for just $9.

I received Medium Chestnut Brown as part of the review crew. My hair is dyed medium brown over grey/white and is a few inches below my collarbones. It’s fine and flat with a slight wave immediately after air drying but this falls out quickly, it’s also horribly frizzy.

I found the instructions easy to follow and the dye easy to use although I did find I’d missed some areas which is unusual for me. I was using this on about 1 inch of grey roots, apart from where I’d missed it covered it well although it’s lighter on those grey areas and the other areas are now darker.

This means my roots are still visible although not grey and it would be good if the colour guide also showed the outcome on grey or white hair. I don’t usually see the roots so evident with other home colour I’ve done.

However the colour on the roots is nice and I might keep using this to get all my hair to a lighter colour. I didn’t notice that the smell was better or worse than other brands I’ve used and I had no adverse reaction on my scalp.

I wasn’t able to see a blend of tones and highlights although I did like the colour on both the grey and dyed areas. My hair felt soft after using and easy to comb. After a few further washes I’ve not see much fade or loss of condition.

Overall this Is a good dye for home colouring with good grey coverage although I feel I need to be more attentive when I use it. It’s a good price too.

As the cost of everything rises I have gone down to bi-monthly hair visits and have been colouring my roots in between. I have stuck to two main brands the past year so I was excited to trial clairols Nice n Easy to see how it compares! The new packaging is pleasing and clear on what it delivers.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the scent wasn’t overbearing whilst I applied this to my roots. It mixed very well in the applicator bottle and was so easy to apply. The gloves fit well and I waited the appropriate time until rinsing off.

The colour rinsed off well and the conditioner was lovely. I decided to let my hair air dry for the best and most accurate review on colour, shine and coverage of greys. So the colour match was great, it definitely covered my grey roots and my hair was a little dry on the ends but nothing a good leave in conditioner can’t fix! I like that this dye did what it said and was not gimmicky or over priced compared to competitors.

A solid budget buy option if you prefer colouring hair at home. It may dry your hair out if used frequently so a good quality conditioner for coloured hair would be a must alongside this product.

I tried this. At first I was so excited to die my hair with this product. I knew that if I was going to like it I was gonna leave my hair this color permanently afterwards. The color did not even change I didn’t even notice the brightness and read of my caller probably because my hair was pretty dark.

I would use it again because I’m tired of permanently dying my hair sometimes. This this is still a good product I would recommend this to pretty much anyone.

Via naturals. omg i camt get enough of this long lasting vibrant color you qpply to towel dried hair so u get more even coverage. please prelighten your hair prior if your wanting a vibrant look. !! Works on carmel tone browns bit gives that color in a sunlight version.

This is my go to hair coloring product. The color lasts a long time and covers my grays. I have used other brands but always come back to this one . I have used this product for about 5 years now.

I have been using this product for several years. I mix two colors and I am happy with the results I get. Going to the salon to have my hair color would cost over $75. 00 every 4-6 weeks. I also purchase the developer and I can do my own color and save $$$$$$$.

It is a task and can get messay but worth it to me.

It also has an optimal color blend formula and ultra-hydrating cream conditioner. The 3D Color Gel Technology is a liquid gel colorant for multi-tonal results from root to tip and the ultra-hydrating cream conditioner is known o highly nourish hair after color application and provide shine, care and frizz control.

The package contains 1 ammonia free colorant, 1 cream color developer, 1 after-color conditioner and 1 application instructions. Personally, I followed the instructions on the manual step-by-step. I wanted to do it correctly because I haven’t dyed my hair in a few months.

Shopping for an at-home dye kit can be a daunting experience. When every box on the shelf over-promises luxe, salon-worthy locks that will sparkle like diamonds, it’s easy to overlook Revlon’s no-frills packaging.

Don’t be fooled by the simple packaging or too-good-to-be-true pricepoint: this is hands down the best product on the shelf. I’ve used various shades from the black / brown end of the spectrum and am amazed every time at the coverage, ease of use, and (most importantly) the results.

The results truly match the sample swatches on the box. If you’ve dyed your hair black before, you know box dyes sometimes have a tendency to lean blue / purple. I assure you, Colorsilk Black 10 is a TRUE black.

During covid lockdown I didn’t know what to do with our growing hair as my husband and myself was unable to go to a hairdresser. I had just purchased a new good hair shaver to keep my husbands hair and beard looking good but what could I do? One evening I had the idea to actually shave my hair off with number 2 attachment.

I had previously bought and loved this product so I then sprayed my hair all over with this steel blue spray. I had a doctors appointment the next morning so I boldly walked in with my super short steel blue hairdo.

Both my doctor and the nurses raved about how good I look. I have even got stopped several times and asked what colour was I using. At 73yrs old I feel really funky this is an amazing product which not only colours my hair but also colours my scalp which makes for even coverage.

The great thing too is my hair is so easy to maintain and I don’t have to use creamy messy colours.

I’ve been using this hair colour to touch up my roots between hair appointments. I have (had?) brunette hair that is approx. 60-70% grey left to it’s own devices. This product easily covers my grey and keeps them covered.

I’ve used this product for years, occasionally buying a different brand in a similar shade if I was in a pinch, but nothing else has stood up to this product. Other brands fail to cover my grey and/or fade away/lighten almost immediately, I always return to this box & this brand.

Very disappointed with result. I had salt and pepper hair which I wanted blonde again, but unfortunately all I have is an all over darker grey. Obviously did not take properly on my hair. I can see that the product is very good to use insofar as no nasty chemicals, but unfortunately will resort back to my Nice & Easy which always seems to give me the right colour, or near to it.

Shame really, wanted it to work. I am sure others have great success with it, I was unlucky perhaps.

I normally use Naturtint, so bought this when it went on sale. The colour is certainly good – covers greys and looks natural. The shampoo and conditioner that come with it though, are awful – so please be sure to have a hair mask handy.

I had something from Giovanni so that was a relief. If I were to compare, Naturtint’s hair conditioner lasts a while and is fantastic. All in all, good box dye. Just not sure if it’s worth the price differential.

I currently have my hair dyed in a peekaboo type style with light pink on the bottom layers and Raven on the top layers. Even if you rinse with FREEZING COLD WATER it bleeds. And it doesn’t stop bleeding after the first wash either.

My pink is turning purple at the ends because of the bleeding 🙁 it makes me sad because I spent a long time while dyeing making sure that the sections stayed separate but now every time I wash it it just bleeds more and turns the pink more purple at the ends.

It works really well otherwise; If you are just wanting to dye your whole head of hair black, it is great and I would recommend. But if you want clean sections I wouldn’t recommend it. And in my experience it washes out pretty fast if you want to experiment with other colors later on down the line.

I have very short hair that was once bleached to level 9 blonde, but my natural medium-to-dark brown roots have since grown out considerably, so I decided to go black all over instead. I “filled” the blonde with a red-based dark brown first (Bat Outta Hell from MP), and after a few weeks, I added Raven on top of everything.

Unfortunately, my natural hair didn’t hold the Raven black dye at all, so I still have two-toned hair. Maybe I have to do a 2nd application, but so far, I’m a little disappointed in how it turned out.

i dyed my hair earlier today and I’m very happy with the results. its was easy to apply and only took two jars to completely cover my thick mid length hair. when it came to rinsing it off though, it took a long time and my bathtub got covered in blue water.

Any staining came off easily with cologne. i recommend this product, just make sure that you are prepared to spend quite some time washing the paint off.

Oh ja, nog een pré. niet op henna basis. De vorige haarkleuring was wel op deze basis gemaakt en ik had het niet door. Het resultaat daarvan is dat het ellenlang duurt voordat de rode gloed uit je haren verdwijnt.

I have used this hair color quite a few times, and have not been disappointed. I use the soft black and use it to do root coverage. It does color my white hair quite well, as it is very good for the stubborn hairs that sometimes get missed with other products I have used.

I always buy 2 to 3 boxes of this hair color when I see it, as the color is very popular and sometimes out of stock when I need it. It is a great price and product, a definite recommendation for at home color!.

I haven’t dyed my hair in a while but whenever I was color treating my hair this was the go-to brand I guess you could say. It left my hair covered everywhere it was applied. Also, my hair was SOO SOFT AND SILKY! Even before you condition it! like, what!? We all know it’s usually the conditioner that makes your hair super soft, well this hair dye also puts in work towards softness.

Love this when I relax and color same day, no two week wait btw. Vary easy to use, I think hair feels softer after using. Dark colors do not last as long on gray hair but it dose actually color gray hair.

Would definitely buy again and recommend to family and friends.

🤗🤗 ok this color is great on my natural colored hair. It covers greys, and all previous lightened hair. It did not leave a dry feel I still follow up with color shield type conditioner, rinse with cool water to lock in color better and seal hair shaft.

This product in my neighborhood stores run about $6. Not bad for lasting color. This color is also meant to be used on the same day you may process or perm your hair. There is no bleach in this product! Just color being deposited.

I love the matrix hair color line. This is my second time using it and the colors are so pretty and vibrant. I went to Walmart the second time and had my hair done the first time was at ulta who uses the same brand and the color last a very long time and fades nicely as well which is equally an important.

It will come out darker initially. I have 3 shades in my hair the pic is not doing it justice. The ends will turn more lilac/violet after 1 or 2 washes. I can’t remember the exact colors used I know one was called royal.

This was done yesterday so very new and fresh. Please excuse the fact I have no makeup on. I recommend walmart as well as long as you get someone who knows what they are doing because the pricing is way better.

If you want to go full platinum in one sitting go somewhere else from a darker blonde or light brown that is. Do your research always. 🙂.

I have applied the dye once so far – 2. 5 weeks and 2 hair washes later, the dye is still look good! Very happy with the colour, it’s a bright red red (not pinky red or orangey red). Dyed over pre-lightened hair (I’ve been red for 10 years +).

I also like that you shampoo your hair first, then put the dye on damp hair. Let it set, then just rinse out the dye and use conditioner meaning you get the full effect of the red. Will be purchasing again.

I am not a professional beautician, but I know more than the average person. That being said, given I am a natural blonde and currently have a platinum base—it is easy for me to color my own hair if it’s as simple as slapping on a single color.

My hair is a little past my shoulders and one tube of this works well for my entire head. It smells amazing and rinses well with several liberal washes. My hair feels great and it lasts a long time and generally fades very nicely.

Highly recommend. The color is very pigmented and soaks in very well!.
