Reviews From Real Customers
It’s a very nice coffee machine, in that it can make both a single cup of coffee, both from a k-cup and from your own ground coffee, and full carafe of 1. 5-1. 6 liters of coffee (that’s around 55 oz in the archaic measurement system).
It takes some time to figure out how to use it, but that’s because it can do all these things: how to slide cover forward and backward to either install a k-cup adapter or to use the basket for ground coffee without the adapter; to use the k-cup adapter you need to slide another part of the adapter cover forward to open it.
The machine itself has stickers that explain how to slide the covers to do what you want, so this is simple and after you used it couple of times, seems quite logical. Also, the user interface is also quite logical, and the machine detects how it it configured (if the k-cup adapter is installed or not) and lights up only controls that are relevant for the current configuration – this is quite intuitive.
The resulting coffee tastes good – I compared brewing the same amount of the same coffee the coffee in my hairo v-60 pourover and in this machine, it tastes similar, although the Ninja machine uses twice less time to brew, (around 2 min vs 4-5 min, in pourover), which can explain the slightly weaker coffee form Ninja machine – you probably could use more coffee grounds to make it stronger.
At least, the machine does the initial ‘bloom’ of the coffee. As you listen for it to work, there is a distinct phase at the beginning of it gurgling and dispersing initial small amount of hot water to the coffee, then it stops and waits for some time, comparable to what I do to bloom coffee grounds in the pourover, so this is good.
The machine also has a milk froster on the side that I have not yet tried to use, but I’m sure I will get to it sometime soon. I took away one star for: a) it indicates all measurements in ozes (ounces) – I needed to do a lot of mental arithmetic to convert all this into grams.
b) some problems with k-cups: so far, during the time I had it, I used already around 10 k-cups in it. With one type of k-cup it just fails to pierce the top: the three thick needles it uses to pierce the top of the k-cup are just too short, and I think the material of the foil on the top of these k-cup is kind of stretchy, so the needles just stretch it not enough to break.
I solved this by slashing the k-cup top with a knife, so that the hot water can get into the k-cup. Second problem with the k-cups was, with one of the k-cups, some (small) amount of the grounds of coffee got into a cup.
This probably also could be attributed to the shortness of the needles that pierce the top of k-cup: this time the needles made the holes, but not deep and tight enough, so that the hot water carried some grounds up over the top of the k-cup and then these grounds went down into the coffee.
But so far this happened on 1 of the 10 k-cups I used, and the amount of ground in the coffee was very small, so this is not a deal breaker. I remember this happened from time to time with our old original Keurig machine that we had several years ago, we could live with this.
So, my general verdict is, this Ninja coffee maker is very nice – definitely the best that I owned so far. It’s not cheap, but I think for me it will worth it over time, if it proves to be durable.
I have purchased many pod coffee makers, regular coffee makers, very expensive specialty coffee makers, and 2 Keurig K Duo Plus 12-Cup Single Serve and Carafe Coffee Maker. I really loved my Keurig, used it a lot with my large family.
They averaged about 2 years use before their end of “coffee life”. When I saw this Ninja Dual Brew Pro maker I decided to give it a try. WOW, I love it! It is very easy to use and I love the Frother.
It froths quickly, in seconds, and when done you just twists it off, rinse, quick dry and put it back for the next time as your coffee finishes brewing. I have not tried brewing a pot of coffee yet, but based on the pod experience I am sure it will be just as good.
They only small complaint might be because of the three holes it punches into the pods for a better brew, I get a very minimal amount of coffee grinds in the bottom of my cup. Very slight, so it doesn’t bother me.
This also happened time from time with my Keurig maker. So overall, I love this Ninja Coffee maker and have highly recommended it to my family and friends, who also loved their coffee that I made with frothing flavored creamers and half & half (both reg & lite)! Best of all, I got all this for a better price then to replace my Keurig that I loved before this Ninja came along.
I also would have liked to be able to buy a service contract, but QVC said they didn’t offer one on this product. Hopefully it will last at least as long or longer then my Keurig’s did, average 2yrs.
but I use my coffee maker probably a lot more then the average home.
We are a family who drinks LOTS of coffee. Hot coffee. Our old, 14 cup brewer quit working. We decided to try this Ninja, with neat little attachments. The frother works great, but is messy if you’re planning on using it for more than one cup.
We place an empty juice glass under it to catch drips in between uses. We only use it on weekends, so it’s not an everyday thing. I think a separate, hand held frother is more practical, but if you like the idea of storing your frother ON your coffee maker, then you will appreciate this feature.
I like the removable water reservoir, it makes filling easier. The carafe lid frustrates me – sometimes it attaches quite easily, other times, it takes multiple twists to get it on, just the right way.
There are no indicators, or obvious markings to show exactly how to get it to attach in the right direction on the first try. The delay brew setting could be better. After your initial set up of: brew style, time to brew and how many ounces to brew; you have to press the “delay” button a minimum of FOUR times to set it.
So, every night, you will be pressing “delay” FOUR times. And, don’t rush through this – if you accidentally press it five times, you have to go through it again: delay/hour, minute, ounces, delay. You would think, with all the bells and whistles on this thing, you could set up the delay to work with the press of ONE button.
The k-cup adapter is nice. It’s an included accessory/attachment you will need to wash and store separately. I like the ability to set the full carafe aside (onto an oven mitt or other heat resistant surface) to brew a k-cup (you will need to insert the k-cup attachment) or “to-go” cup of any flavor and size (8, 10, 12, 15 or 18 ounces), then replace the carafe on the warming plate, back to warm.
I haven’t used the specialty coffee setting – I think it brews a 4 oz size – or the iced coffee setting. I haven’t had an issue with water leaking as some other reviewers have mentioned. I’ve only used the hot/boil water feature to warm up empty thermoses and warm up a sinkful of clean, cold dish washing soapwater.
I hand wash all the parts. I’ll mention, again, my dislike for the carafe lid; it has a tube or straw-like piece attached to the underside of it, to direct the brewed coffee down into the carafe?? – it’s weird, and a pain to wash.
You need a long, slender brush, like a reusable straw brush, to wash it. I think this coffee maker is probably better suited for people who use k-cups or don’t drink as much hot coffee as we do. Ideally, for us, a 14 cup carafe with a NORMAL lid would have been much better.
But, it brews quickly enough to make more coffee. I think it’s overpriced at $200. I wouldn’t say I LOVE this coffee maker. It does work well, but I think it’s just OK.

Reviews From Real Customers
I bought this coffee maker believing it would satisfy my requirement for a pot of coffee and my wifes for k-cup single serves. After a year of use, here are the pros and cons: Pro: – It does make great coffee at the right temperature Cons: – The lid on top where the k-cup goes into will wear out within a month and consistently pop open when you have a k-cup in it, stopping the brewing process.
We ended up putting a paperweight on it to counteract the lid opening. Cleaning the needle would keep it from popping open for a week or two, but then back at it. – The coffee pot leaks badly from around the seam where the plastic meets the metal.
Not bad enough that it can’t be used, it just makes a mess. – There is a downspout for the k-cup inside the tray that holds coffee grounds. It is held in place by a small tab that snapped the first time we took the tray out to clean it.
At least that’s what we believe, we may have received it broken and not realized it. Now the small k-cup downspout tray does not stay in place and routinely prevents the coffee grounds tray from sliding in fully, preventing coffee from being made until it is seated correctly.
We went to replace the tray, no luck finding it on the internet. – The brew coffee button on the top is finicky. The surrounding buttons only take a light touch to select what you want (size, carafe, cup, etc.
); however, the brew button is a pain. It takes 2 to 5 pushes to get it to engage. Overall, it’s not a bad drip/k-cup coffee maker, just a pain with the design flaws.
I was excited to get this coffee maker as it fit everything I was looking for. As some reviewers said, they had to return the pot as the coffee both from the pod and carafe had a strong taste of plastic.
I’m sorry to say mine was the same. I had ordered my first K-Duo Plus from Amazon and returned it because of the strong plastic taste and smell. I ordered my next K-Duo Plus from BB&B and the same was true.
Returned it because of the strong plastic taste and smell. I had a contractor in my home as I was preparing the pot as per the instructions. After the cleansing preparations, I asked him to smell the water just to confirm my opinion and he was surprised and said it smelled like boiled plastic.
I called Keurig to find out if this was a problem with this pot. At first the agent said to use a tablespoon of white vinegar along with the water to prepare the pot. I used approximately half a bottle of white vinegar prior to calling Keurig but was unsuccessful.
When I said I had, I was told to return the pot to Keurig and upon receipt of the pot they would send another in exchange. As I would have to pay for shipping it was easier and cheaper to send the first pot back to Amazon and physically return the second pot to BB&B.
I would have given it 0 stars but there isn’t an option. As far as a recommendation goes, I’d say you’re taking a chance. You might be lucky enough to get a very well made pot or waste your time returning it.
I love this coffee maker. I love that my coffee isn’t burnt after sitting on the hot plate cooking between cups. I nurse my coffee and this system was a great choice. The stainless steel carafe takes a bit getting used to.
I feel it by weight what is left rather than visually. Kind of an inconvenience to unscrew the top to check. The coffee stays hot for about an hour, maybe 2 if it is a 12cup pot. My husband loves the pod function as he is a 1 cup coffee drinker.
The water reservoir is large and being able to move its position is awesome as I rearrange my coffee counter more than my furniture. The drawbacks but not deal breakers (for me anyway): The auto brew feature – when set – will not let a single pod to be brewed.
Ok fine. At least at 6 or 8 cups the carafe only keeps the coffee hot for an hour or so, then it becomes warm, not luke warm, but certainly not hot. Third, if you grab your 1st cup as soon as it is done brewing – pod or carafe – you have a perfectly drinkable hot cup of coffee.
Wait even just 2 min and your cup of coffee becomes cold fast. It just isn’t a HOT brewing system – just hot enough to drink right away. Personally I like a scalding hot cup because as it is if I add anything, even room temp creamer, the coffee instantly becomes luke warm.
I think this is a feature inherent to the coffee maker and not isolated to mine as I read other reviews with the same complaint. I would have to chug my coffee to keep it hot through the entire cup. or switch to a thermal mug, which I am not a fan of.

Reviews From Real Customers
I love absolutely everything about this coffee maker. The fact that I can buy two different types of coffee and make it in this machine is something I didn’t even know existed. I’ve been using K-Cup coffee maker for a couple years now.
I’ve always wanted a coffee maker that made the espresso pods, but never wanted to replace my K-Cup coffee maker for something that I wasn’t sure if I was going to like, considering I had never actually tried the espresso pods.
So to find out that this machine has the capability of brewing either kind, was something I didn’t even know existed. The K-Cup side works great and has more features than my original K-Cup coffee maker provided.
It has a 8 oz, 10 oz and 12 oz. And even a bold setting on top of that. So I got to try my usual K-Cups on different strengths, which was fun experimenting. The espresso pods I was able to experiment with different brands by ordering different ones online.
Having had no experience using an espresso pod machine I was blown away to find out how this worked.
It’s perfect! You get both pod options in one machine! Perfect espresso from the Nepresso capsules (which I highly recommend either Nespresso branded or Starbucks capsules), and you get a VERY HOT cup of coffee from the K-Cup side.
Yes, I would say the coffee is much hotter than a normal Keurig. Huge water tank so there’s less refilling. Nespresso pods drop into a little capsule container (which can be recycled through Nespresso).
You can use your own grounds with the K-Cup filter provided or your favorite K-Cup. AND, you can make your first cup as soon as you turn the unit on! Plus, it makes a cute little chime when your coffee/espresso is finished.
Sizes for espresso from 2-6 oz and coffee from 8-12 oz with a Bold option for both. This truly is what I’ve been wanting for YEARS! It clears up counter space! I tell my husband every day, “Have I told you how much I love my Instant Pod?” The Instant Brand has become a favorite in my kitchen since purchasing my Instant Pot a few years ago.
Now I have 4 of their appliances and I’m not disappointed.

Reviews From Real Customers
Summary: A decent combination Pod/Brewing coffee machine that has some nice features, but also has areas where it could be improved. Likes: Stainless steel carafe keeps coffee hot longer than expected – especially without a warming plate Removeable water reservoir for the pod brewer is well done – individual handle, removable and easy to see the current water levels Fast warm up time for pod brewing Good brew times for drip coffee Nice blue LED displays Tall enough to handle a 7″ travel mug (probably can take an 8″ if the drip tray cover is removed) Removable drip coffee basket with easy to grab loop Dislikes/areas for improvements: Coffee brewing complete notification – the beep is difficult to hear.
It would be nice to have the ability to change the tone and volume of the “beep” including a mute/no-beep option. Markings on the brew pod cup for aligning the holder are not obvious or easy to see. It would be better if the alignment markings were in the front as opposed to the rear of the machine where it is harder to see.
If you don’t have the arrows aligned, the hinged cover doesn’t close properly. The pod cup that comes with the machine to allow you to use your own grounds (instead of k-cups) has a very flimsy plastic hinge.
It looks like it will break off and cease to be a useable hinge after a few uses (because of that we stopped using it). Could not find after-market holders that fit properly either. The brewing coffee pot also suffers from visible demarkation to align the top easily.
Initially I didn’t see the small arrow markings since they are molded into the black plastic and initially do not visibly stand out. The removable brew basket has this same problem as does the pod holder.
The brewing coffee reservoir is extremely difficult to fill using the pot for a few couple of reasons: 1) The fill locations are difficult to pour water into without spilling/missing. It only has a couple of awkward 2×2 openings located in the back of the machine and it easy to miss the openings without a funnel.
2) The coffee pot cannot be fully emptied of water without inverting it nearly upside down due to the width of the pot itself (this is probably what makes it successful at retaining the heat due to the large vaccuum space) meaning that the top rim of the pot keeps 2oz of liquid in the pot.
3) The fill markings on the side of the reservoir are difficult to read especially when adding water. It is easy to overfill – fortunately there is a overfill hole that will prevent it from overfilling but unfortunately will spill onto your counter making a mess.
I like the look of the Cuisinart 12 cup and single cup brewer. I’ve had my eyes on it for some time and finally purchased one when there was a drop in price. I used the owner’s manual to put the unit together.
It wasn’t very complicated to set up but I did refer to the manual a few times to make sure I understood correctly. The design looks beautiful and fits great along with my other Cuisinart appliances.
There were 2 things about the Cuisinart coffee center that prevented me from giving a 5 star rating. The first and most important time was that I don’t particularly like adding water from the rear of the unit.
My coffee center is located at the back of my countertop to maximize counter space and I have to move it everytime I want coffee whether it’s a pot of coffee or a coffee pod. I believe that the unit would be better served if the water reservior was located on the top front or at either side which would be more ideal and provide easier access.
Also this alteration would make for an easier and more fluid coffee making experience. The other issue that I’ve had is simply setting the clock. I had several unsuccessful attempts at programming the clock both for the auto programming feature as well as the simply using the clock.
These design issues do not diminish the Cuisinart coffee center’s ability to brew a great up of coffee. I will continue to support and stand behind the Cuisinart brand and it’s quality products as I have several in my possession.
Cuisinart® Coffee Center™ 12 cup Coffee Maker & Single-Serve Brewer is poorly designed. It is better to have 2 separate units. On the single serve side, the maker is too high so that the coffee splatters before reaching the cups.
(Note: move the 12 cup carafe out of the way and be prepared to wipe up everything around the coffee maker as the single serve brews. ) It defeats the purpose of getting coffee right into your one cup by not using another decanter that is higher to catch the coffee or prop up the cup up to meet the coffee flow.
Also, when using the Home Barista Filter Cup with the mesh filter to use your own coffee instead of the pods, you get a lot of sediment because it cannot filter it like a paper filter. I am also disappointed in the taste of the coffee when using the single serve if not using a K-Cup type premade pod.
I bought this thinking it was a good idea because I want to use my own coffee and make different cups or flavors for guests. I don’t want to invest in pods all the time. And, if you want another cup quickly for someone else or yourself you need to wash the single serve Home Barista Filter Cup or purchase more from Cuisinart – an added expense and still a nuisance to clean all these Home Barista Filter Cups.
Personally, this is too much trouble. As far as the 12 cup coffee maker, it makes good coffee. My suggestion is if you want a large coffee maker and a smaller one buy two units.

Reviews From Real Customers
I’ve had this for about 8 months now. This coffee pot is a brilliant idea that, sadly, seems to have had zero user-testing. From little things like the inability to disable the loud beeping when a pot is brewed early in the morning to the carafe’s design ensuring you’ll dribble coffee all over your counter 9 of 10 pours, the execution just isn’t there.
The features all technically work, and some work well: heating up water is great, the various amounts of brew by oz. is cool, and the actual brewed coffee tastes great (i found 37oz to be the best performer).
The attached measuring spoon, the fold-down mug holder, and a re-locatable water tank are all great features they deliver on well. However, there’s just too many misses, primarily with the carafe. * The carafe really only keeps coffee hot for an hour or so (though I’ll say using the hot water feature to pre-heat a mug with 4oz of boiling water pre-pour is pretty cool).
* Where the black band and metal lip meet isn’t sealed well, so over time coffee makes its way in. Not a huge deal, until you notice as the coffee pot gets hot, old gross coffee water you can’t wash out leaks out as you pour into your coffee.
Eww. * Their product design team went ham on the actual appearance of the carafe (it does look great) but performance is awful. There’s no actual spout so the coffee often dribbles down the front. The tiny air hole gets air-lock/a bubble/something that causes the coffee to slowly pour until it builds enough vacuum and then coffee pours out too fast.
A few other things: * For how fancy the display is, I’m surprised I can’t mute the loud beeping when coffee is brewed. As much as I want to broadcast I’m an early riser, my family would rather I not.
* I’m surprised there aren’t temperature controls for the coffee – seems easy to make this cater to the tinkerers out there. * I tried using the dunkin brand pods and this would blow through the interior lining leaving a cup full of grounds – the starbucks ones worked well tho.
While it makes good coffee, the cons are too many and too significant to recommend this product, let alone give it a better rating.
If you need a multi-function “coffee machine” that allows you to use either coffee grounds or K-cups, or to heat up hot water for tea, the Nina DualBrew is something worth considering. Grounds, K-Cups, or Hot Water Probably my favorite feature of this DualBrew is the ability to make drinks using ground coffee or K-Cups.
Depending on your need, you can either use the ground coffee adapter or switch it out for the K-Cup adaptor to make coffee, teas, ciders and whatever else offered in the Keurig K-Cup pods. If you’re needing hot water for teas, that’s always an option as well.
Varying Sizes Whether you’re wanting a small 6-ounce cup or a full carafe, and practically every size in between, the DualBrew system allows you to produce as much or as little as you need. Swing-out Milk Frother I don’t always make cappuccinos or other drinks that require frothed milk, but the swing-out milk frother is a convenient feature.
Note that it does now warm your milk, so you will need to do that separately (like in a microwave) before frothing with the DualBrew’s attachment. Large Water Tank The 60oz water tank on the DualBrew means less time having to re-fill between brews.
It is large enough to make several cups of coffee or a large carafe. One of my favorite features of this system is that you can position the water tank on the right side of the system (which is its default position) or move it so the tank is on the back of the system.
Overall Impressions I really enjoy using the Ninja DualBrew system. It allows me the flexibility to use either coffee grounds or K-Cups on-the-fly without any hassle. Plus, it eliminates the need for two or more systems.
The touch-screen interface is intuitive and makes crafting drinks a breeze, allowing me to select a style and volume (size). I have not encountered any issues in my time with this machine, so I cannot really point out any cons to the system (other than wishing the milk frother would warm your milk).
If you need or want a multi-function system in your household, the Ninja DualBrew is something worth your time and money. While my title is “Almost Perfect” yet I still gave it a 5-star rating, it’s because of the milk frother gripe.
But that grip isn’t enough to remove a star. It’s really a 5-star system.
This coffee maker is a fairly big upgrade from my old, standard drip coffee maker—just a basic one with a glass carafe, and the only real “feature” being programmable delayed brew. I like that I have the option to use K-cups, even though I predominantly use regular coffee grounds.
And the options for brew strength are great. It makes a better tasting cup of coffee than my old coffee maker did. I personally prefer rich, but classic is good too! The specialty brew option is neat—it lets you make espresso-like drinks (it’s technically NOT espresso, but it’s very concentrated and works good for lattes and cappuccinos).
I also use this for my tea almost exclusively—it’s really nice that I can have it dispense hot or boiling water. The stainless steel carafe is great—it keeps the coffee hot for hours, and doesn’t make it bitter like the heat pads most other coffee makers use.
The milk frother is nice for making drinks with the specialty setting, and is easily removable and easy to clean—only thing is you will have to heat the milk with a microwave or on the stove first. The coffee scoop is also nice to have—definitely an improvement over digging through my coffee to find the scoop that I threw in the container.
It’s also really cool being able to select different beverage volumes—with a traditional coffee maker, I’d have to put just a tiny bit of water in to make one or two cups. With this, I can just select between several different options, and it also means I don’t have to fill the water reservoir every time I want a hot beverage.
It also has programmable delayed brew too—it’s really easy to set with the dial, and remembers whatever you used last. In fact, this is easier to use than pretty much all standard coffee makers because of the dial and touch sensitive elements.
As far as K-cups go, it’s fairly easy to swap between the drip and K-cup modules. That was a common complaint I’ve seen on reviews of other combination drip/K-cup coffee makers. Definitely recommend this coffee maker, it’s very well rounded, and the build quality is pretty nice.
If you like coffee and tea, and/or even eat a lot of instant noodles, this really isn’t a bad purchase. I’ve had no issues, and I’m very happy with it!.

This is the best coffee maker for the price! Love the dual features. You can make a single cup with a pod (takes standard Keurig style ones) but it also comes with a reusable pod that you can add your own grinds to.
Like the full carafe side, the volume of the single pod is determined by the amount of water you dump into that side (goes up to 12oz). The bottom of the single side is removable for taller travel mugs.
The machine is incredibly easy to use with only a few buttons for programming and it takes just a few minutes to brew a cup. The only downfall is that you have to pour water into the top at each use, so if you have this under an overhanging cabinet you have to pull it all the way out to fill up.
Also the tops of the water cover part has warped a bit with heat but nothing too bad. Overall excellent machine.
I really love this coffee maker. It has so many easy to use features such as bold or regular strength, k cup or ground and one cup side or choose to use the pot. This maker is expensive at full price but, I got an amazing deal at Khols before Christmas and only paid around $65 for this almost $200 maker! I wish someone would invent throw away small filters for ground k cups.
I hate cleaning the reusable filters. Take note though that the pot side only uses throw away filters and doesn’t come with any starter filters, a to go cup or sample coffee. So be sure to buy filters if you do decide to buy.
This maker also has a huge plus, it makes very, very hot coffee. I’ve never had a maker that makes coffee this hot. It’s a plus for me!.
I have had this coffee pot/k-cup making station a few months shy of 2 years and I’ve never had any issues with it. I’ve made many k-cup coffees and even loaded the reusable k-cup that you can load with any coffee on that side, never had any problems with it.
If the pin that goes into the k-cup starts looking a little dingy, I just wash everything in hot soapy dish water. I’ve used the regular coffee pot side a lot too and I even brew my tea for making a gallon of sweet tea in it.
I love the programmable feature where you can have ready to drink coffre when you wake up at whatever time, the fact that you can adjust the brew strength, you can use a tall to go coffee cup in the k-cup side by just removing the piece where a regular size cup would sit and you can make either 1 serving or a whole pot.
For the value, quality and functions compared to other more expensive name brands that do exactly the same thing, this was a great buy and actually the best coffee maker I’ve ever owned.

Reviews From Real Customers
After a little under a year of using this model, the lid would pop open mid brew and coffee grounds would overflow out of the top of the K cup which caused a mess. It’s not fun cleaning out the coffee pot first thing in the morning before having a cup of coffee to wake up to.
Called customer service. They were very accommodating. Said it was defective just by my explanation. Sent a replacement pretty quickly. After a few days, the Keurig would start to brew and mid way through the liquid would start to come out very fast.
I then noticed my cup was filled with coffee grounds. Not just a few. It was a lot! So I called customer service. This time the rep had me perform several troubleshooting tasks all of which I had done previously as they are common sense tasks.
He also wanted me to continue brewing cups of coffee until it replicated my issue. Thankfully it happened after the 2nd brew as the pods are not cheap and I’ve went through many of them in order to get one cup of coffee! First rep didn’t want the machine back.
2nd rep asked me to send it back which I had no issues with but I asked if they could send a different model as it seems like something is wrong with this model. I was told this is the first he’s heard about this issue, however, I’ve seen numerous complaints online.
I received my new coffee pot yesterday and so far I have had no issues but it’s only been 24 hours and only brewed two cups of coffee. I really hope I don’t have to call back a 3rd time because I will not want the same model.
Will have to suck it up and buy a different brand or model.
We have had our K-Duo+ Single Serve and Carafe coffee maker for almost 2 years now. It was a Christmas gift in 2019. At first it worked beautifully, but for the past year or so, I’ve noticed that when we use the K-cups, excess water leaks into the coffee ground filter area that is used with the carafe.
I mention this because I have cleaned this Keurig on a regular (brand recommended) basis, using ONLY Keurig brand cleaning supplies because I know how important a clean Keurig is – in terms of the parts we cannot see without taking the thing apart, which I would never recommend – especially since you would void any manufacturer warranty by doing so.
Other that that we have loved this coffee maker. When we use the carafe, we are always pleasantly surprised how hot it keeps the coffee for so MANY hours. Would I buy this product again? Honestly, I don’t know.
Most likely not. The water leakage is quite bothersome for me, but it doesn’t appear to impact the taste of or the overall quity of a k-cup single serve cup of coffee. BUT the carafe is why I wanted this coffee maker, in the first place.

Reviews From Real Customers
I wanted to love this product so badly, but I just can’t. There are too many issues considering the price. 1- the kids to the water reservoir doesn’t open far enough to make it convenient or easy to refill the tank.
Like most, I use my coffee pot to fill the water reservoir but you can’t quite get the right angle to easily pour all the water in. I spill water everywhere daily because of this and it’s quite frustrating.
2- the water reservoir gasket on the k-cup side gets easily stuck and the water just pours out. If I leave water in there during the day, the whole machine is sitting on a puddle of water within hours.
The entire tank empties on the kitchen counter. I did try contacting customer service about this issue and they said they’d send a new reservoir to see if that helps, but I never received it. Very frustrating as well.
3-the coffee pot design ALSO strangely pours water/coffee everywhere. I can’t pour a cup of coffee without a towel under my mug- no matter how slow I pour. I can’t even explain this one, but it’s awful.
4- the coffee from the k-cup side is incredibly watered down. It comes out nearly clear, so if you enjoy a bolder coffee tase, you’ll probably never use this side. All in all, I highly suggest exploring some other options unless you really enjoy cleaning water and coffee from everywhere.
This coffee maker has all the functionality I look for in a coffee maker and I love that I can brew a pot of coffee or brew a single cup. Having both capabilities in one machine is great and allowed me to get an appliance off my countertop reducing clutter.
There is a learning curve though, which some additional engineering could probably reduce. The way the coffee pot lid attaches to the pot takes some getting used to. I pinched myself several times getting used to it.
To fill the water reservoir requires care. The space to pour the water into is small, so you have to be careful to ensure you are pouring the water where it needs to go to fill the reservoir or it will run through into the pot or your counter.
The single cup side does splatter due to the cup being so far from the drip. If the platform could be moved higher, maybe even be adjustable to accommodate different cup sizes, it would be nice and would reduce the splatter.
All that being said, I like the coffee maker. I’ve learned how to use it without pinching myself or making a mess!.
We decided to purchase this coffee center after using it at our vacation rental. We loved the ability to make a cup or pot of coffee and we also loved the style. We loved the option of making different sizes of coffee and that we could choose the temp when making a pot.
So we purchased one after arriving home. It worked for about 2 months before starting to show issues. 1st we noticed that cups of coffee looked small or super full, so we starting brewing into a measuring cup.
Sure enough after pushing the button for 10ozs it would brew 12 or 8 ozs but not 10. So we followed the steps the clean with vinegar but there was no change. Next the system started to make grinding noises when we push the button to brew.
Sounded like all the parts were going to fall out of the back. Then a bunch of steam would come out of the top where the kcup is and finally it would brew. Again we cleaned with vinegar but no real change.
This all occured within the first 6 months. Here we are not even a year past and now it will not brew at all. We push the button and it either makes grinding noises are just silently stops, all lights blink and nothing happens.
Sometimes steam comes out of the top but it does not brew on the kcup side. Coffee pot side works great. We have emailed customer service center 3 times, called 2 times all to no avail. We never get through on the phone line and no one responds to their email.
Today I am running out to buy a new kcup coffee maker and will never buy Cusinart again. This is a great coffee maker if you get a working one but for $200 it is a risky decision. Just know if you end up with one that does not work you will likely get no resolution.
If you love to gamble then take the risk.

Reviews From Real Customers
Needing a solution for using both K-Cups and the ability to brew drip coffee in larger batches, I decided to get the Ninja – Dual Brew 12-Cup Coffee Maker. This brewer is well engineered to meet those requirements by including a K-cup adapter which slides over the coffee ground mode filter enclosure.
The K-Cup adapter has four needles, three which puncture the top, these seems to get the most out of the coffee contained in the K-Cup. Both the K-Cup adaptor and ground coffee ground holder (required to be installed for both brewing methods) should be removed for cleaning often, I would run a quick water rinse after using the K-cup adapter as I did notice some coffee grounds after each use on the needles used to puncture the top and bottom of the K-Cup.
For coffee ground based brews the unit uses standard #4 cone coffee filters, I would think a permanent filter would be included, however that is a separate purchase and some people might actually prefer a paper type filter.
I will say, read the manual to understand how to correctly use and convert the unit between K-Cup and regular ground brewing. Also, it makes sense to watch some of the instructional videos which are available online from Ninja or on YouTube.
My daughter broke a small piece off the sliding lid, and it prevented the unit from sensing that the one of the covers was in the proper position to start the brewing process, I had to super glue the piece back on to be able to operate the unit.
Which again reinforces the point it is not the simplest to operate and you must familiarize yourself with operating this coffee maker. As for brewing coffee, it does an awesome job with K-Cups, brewing a HOT cup of coffee quickly after pressing start.
Brewing a full carafe from ground coffee takes about 10 minutes, equally hot. The brewer also has a warming element which has a visual indicator of when it is on (on the control panel) and when the element is still warm (near the front of the element).
You can also set a timer to increment how long you want the element to keep the carafe warm from 0 to four hours. Another nice feature is the ability to use the closed/open lever to stop the drip of coffee onto the warming element (or temporarily stop mid brew to pour a cup of coffee from the carafe).
You can also produce cold brews which reduces the water used by also half and drips into your full cup of ice which melts and dilutes the beverage to an appropriate strength. Overall, this unit is versatile with a few quirks and produces really good coffee.
Again, I can’t stress how important it is to thoroughly read the manual for proper operational directions. Pros: – Dual brew feature (grounds and K-Cups) – Warming tray – Fold down tray for direct brew into cups – Large carafe and water reservoir – Flexibility, brew style settings for Classic, strong [rich] and cold brew.
– Brewing progress LEDs – 9 ground brew sizes (Cup, Travel Mug, Carafe) of different ounces. – 4 Pod brew sizes (6oz-12oz) – Coffee ground scoop integrated into the side of the unit. Cons: – A bit complicated, familiarize yourself the modes and how operate it – LED (number display specifically is not dimmable, so if using this is the same room as you sleep you may be annoyed).
– Permanent filter should be included, rather than a separate purchase item.
My old Ninja coffee maker was finally starting to fail so it was time to replace it. I was trying to decide which coffee maker I wanted to get as a replacement as I loved the features of my ninja but yet I really wanted to be able to use K-cups sometimes too.
I am one of those people who can’t stand to have my counters cluttered with appliances so getting both was out of the question. Then I saw the Dualbrew 12 cup coffee maker, single serve K-cup coffee pod and drip coffee machine by Ninja and new immediately that this would be the perfect solution to my dilemma.
When it arrived I was so happy to see that despite being a dualbrew machine it actually took up less counter space than my old Ninja! With that being said it is also smaller than a traditional K-cup machine.
No way I could have been happier about that! The reservoir is one the side and despite my own misreading it is not moveable one this model. However I am ok with that since it takes up less room already.
It comes with the adapter for K-cups that does hog up some room in a drawer or cupboard but that’s ok for now and at this point not a deal breaker. It is very easy to use and I have to admit easier than my old Ninja in some aspects.
For instance the delay brew clock you just rotate the button instead of having to hit a button repeatedly to change the time on. It also has the ability to change the keep warm time from 2 hours all the way up to 4 hours which when one person leaves at 430 and the other can’t even figure out how to pour a cup for a few hours it keeps it nice and hot without burning it! You can also adjust the temperature of your brew from what the instructions say but I haven’t done that as it is perfect for us on the standard setting.
You still have the other options such as cold brew, rich brew and specialty as you do with the others which is awesome as I use those as well. It has a built in area for the included scoop if you choose to use it.
The only thing this model doesn’t have is a milk frother which is ok for me as I have another way to do it if needed. Overall I am loving this new pot and couldn’t be happier I picked it! Its matte black with a bit of chrome makes it look very nice on the counter, It seem to be of the same wonderful quality that I have come to expect over the years from Ninja and expect it to last for many years to come!!.

I had to purchase a new coffee maker because old Keurig coffee maker quit. I loved my old Keurig but when I checked reviews I found the Hamilton Beach FlexBrew 2-Way came out on top. So after some thought and reading all the reviews I purchased.
I am very happy with this coffee maker. I like having the options of a full pot or single cup of coffee. The single cup mode using a Kcup on bold setting actually taste better than my Keurig. I was really surprised by that result but that helps explain the great reviews.
Hamilton Beach FlexBrew 2-Way Coffee Maker makes a better tasting cup of coffee! I will say the only downfall is you have to add water every time unlike the Keurig. I really like this coffee maker in that it is an easy machine to operate, coffee taste great, it is a nice looking machine, great online reviews and it was priced cheaper than the 2-Way Keurig coffee maker.
Very satisfied!.
We love the features on this. I especially love that for the K cup side it puts out however much water you put in so you don’t have to choose number of ounces. This makes it nice for the kids to make their hot chocolate without overflowing their cups.
I never ran vinegar through my first one and we have hard well water. By ten months it was taking 45 minutes to brew a pot. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because I don’t believe it has a filter, at least not one I’ve found.
With our second one we will run vinegar through it and expect it to last longer. Filtered water would be a good choice. In summary, great coffee maker. I believe our first one quit working well due to water quality and improper maintenance on my part.

I always had just a keurig, but wanted to make pot/drip coffee. On the weekends me and my husband both drink several cups of coffee and we were using so many kcups it was such a waste. We found this Hamilton Beach 2 in and 1 and couldn’t be happier.
Love that we have both options and it is an all in 1. I hate clutter and having to many appliances so this was a perfect find. I love everything about this coffee pot and k cup machine except the fact that it doesn’t have a thermal coffee pot.
I wish this model I purchased included the thermal pot so it keeps the coffee hot for longer. I also can’t purchase the thermal pot separately which is annoying. That would be the only downfall of this 2 in 1.
Overall, such a great purchase at a great price.

Reviews From Real Customers
Got this machine because we are fans of cappuccinos and lattes (hot and cold) and wanted to be able to have machine that could provide us with various options for us and our guests. I can say after a month that it’s a very good choice.
The machine is very quiet and the warming up time is short (around 20sec). We love having many options and it’s very easy to use. Loving the almost automatic functions to make a latte/ cap: pour milk up to the line, put in the spot for the milk cup, push the button cold if you want it cold, otherwise just push latte or cap and it beeps when ready.
The foam is very nice and stays foamed for a long time (2% cow milk). You can have the “shot” done simultaneously, just push the latte/ cap button and the big K and go. You also have the choice to make a regular coffee and not a shot if you want an 8 10 or 12 oz of coffee but you cant have the milk frotter and the regular coffee mode working at the same time, while the shot can be used at the same time.
It’s not exactly long but good to know if you want to have foam of you regular coffee or something. It looks very good, easy to clean and you have access to the very very wide Keurig compatible pods or the reusable one if you want to use a specific coffee / be more environmentally responsible (but make sure you buy the right “universal” keurig reusable pod, yes there are 2 options).
I like the various flavours to try for ice caps that other machines don’t (or you need to buy sugary sirup for a similar taste). The pods are not very expensive compared to Nespresso and you have a wider selection.
Only downside: the packaging it comes in is very over the top (3 boxes until you reach the machine. ). It’s also not a “real” pressure espresso shot like you would have with a nespresso, so if you only drink espressos then it may not be for you but if you want a multifunctions machine it’s the best I found.
(I’m familiar and often use outside the house nespresso, Tassimo and the basic Keurig and it really is the best of them for my needs).
Years ago, after returning from a trip to France, having a coffee every every day, we came home and I really wanted a better cup so I bought a Breville BES870XL. It was a lovely machine, very manual and an art to use, but after three years it started to loose it’s memory function and pressure, but rather than get rid of this expensive machine, I found some work-a-rounds to keep it going.
This past summer, we visited a friend in her new home and there on the counter was a Kuerig K-Cafe (uhhhg!) Coffee pods were a pep peeve of mine after years of grinding fresh beans and tamping down the mixture and finding that sweet spot of pressure for the perfect brew.
But I had no choice. I popped in the pod, selected [COFFEE] [STRONG], [8 oz] & [K] to start it and waited. when the coffee stoped dripping into my cup, I pressed latte button on the side where I had poured in a little half & half and 1% milk and watched as it spun up my the mixture.
I thought this was going to be a joke, but when the K-Cafe beeped indicating my froth was complete I lifted the dispenser and poured it into my cup, amazed how creamy and foamed up it got. What I was even more surprised was how good everything tasted and how easy this whole process was compared to the Breville.
When we returned home, I ordered the K-Cafe with the custom coffee pod to continue grinding my own beans. The Breviile is now in the attic, for good. I’m very impressed with this machine and it is allllllllmooost as good as the Breville, but way easier to use, clean, maintain at a price that is shockingly cheap compared to other machines I have used over the years.
One would be hard pressed to taste the difference. There is no going back for me. This is a keeper.
We received this Keurig as a gift to replace a damaged Keurig of a different model. The concept of this Keurig is nice, but the device itself is mediocre. We tried several brands and flavors of k-cups to make lattes and all dispensed very weak and bland (these same k-cups were much bolder on the previous Keurig device).
It was even worse dispensing as coffee. It was coming out as brown tinted water, even using stronger varieties of k-cup. To make a decent sized latte (think Starbucks grande or venti), you need to use 2-4 k-cups as the shots are very small and hardly concentrated.
The machine takes much longer to heat water than the previous models I’ve had too. The milk frother works pretty well (we used Horizon brand whole milk) and it foamed up a lot. The actual frother device doesn’t seem like it would last because the handle isn’t well attached.
We ended up having an issue with the little black frother piece after 2 weeks and contacted Keurig, who told us to buy a new piece at $25. Only after contacting them through Facebook did I get them to offer to send a new frother piece at no charge, but by that time it had been over a week and we returned the machine to the store.
Keurig seems to be a much different company than they were 8 years ago. The machines are now made with lower quality parts and customer service is outsourced to another country which makes it difficult to get the help and answers you need.
In the end, it’s probably best for the environment to leave Keurig behind.
Conclusion
The coffee pot and k cup combo is a great way to make coffee. The coffee pot is simple to use and the k cup allows you to make a single cup of coffee without having to measure out coffee grounds. The coffee pot and k cup combo is a great way to save time and money.
