20 Best Cellular Trail Camera For Security (2022 Updated)

Based on your use case this camera can either be great or just average. If you have a small yard or monitoring close to your wifi connection than there are better options out there. Now if you have a lot of land or need to monitor some place where there is no wifi or low wifi connection than this could be what you’re looking for.

I could definitely see how this could benefit property owners trying to monitor areas where their wifi won’t reach. Whether it be a business owner or a land owner wanting to monitor areas far outside their wifi zone this works pretty good since it uses cellular (cellular signal strength can be seen in the app) vs wifi.

I can easily see how a business owner may want to monitor their parking lot or maybe an area prone to vandalism/theft without having to pay a massive expense in paying for lines to be ran. The unit does look and feel like it is a quality product, but time will tell.

The setup is easy, and I personally liked the app. Scheduling could be improved but that’s a small con. Picture quality during the day was very good. I highly recommend charging the unit (takes roughly half a day) before mounting – especially if in a hard to get to area.

It did come with a small microSD card and I recommend getting one with more GB’s since they are so cheap now. Since this is solar powered you’ll want to be cognitive of where you place it. If placed in a shaded area or under leaved branches the battery will run down faster and if placed in a hard to reach area – it’s not going to be fun having to retrieve and recharge regularly.

The app does a great job here of letting you know how much battery life you have remaining. I also don’t recommend putting it in a high traffic area as that seemed to drain the battery much quicker during my testing.

Night pictures were okay based on amount of light in the area. For example pointing at my driveway where I have 2 exterior lights produced a decent night picture. However when I tested it in my back yard with no lighting the pictures were average at best but most cameras struggle with good night pictures with low to no lighting.

Overall I was pleased with the ease of setup, app, and overall quality. Pros: • Easy to setup • App was very user intuitive and had a great number of features compared to other apps • Solar powered so no wired to run – great for areas far from your actual property • Cellular connection (can be a con if there is no cellular service in your area) • Daytime picture quality was good • MicroSD card where you can view pictures without contract Neutral: Subscription to view photos via app – but you are getting cloud service and they do offer different price options based on need.

Cons: • More scheduling options in the app could be beneficial • Picture quality at night in low/no light areas are average and hard to make out sometimes.

Purchased this camera to help monitor a home building site. So far we are very pleased with the purchase. Now we know exactly who is on our lot at all times, when they leave and when deliveries are made.

The HD feature is great, with unknown or questionable visitors we can zoom in to read license plates if necessary. Worth every penny, extremely happy with the purchase and highly recommend if you need to monitor something remotely.

You do need an adequate cell signal for this to work, ours is not great at 1-3 bars on average but so far there have been no issues. If for no other reason it’s worth it for peace of mind. The 3 tiers for long term plans are just right, you can tailor to your needs and only pay for the number of photos you need.

Pay by the month or buy an entire year of coverage for a 10% discount. Easy to install and configure, we have nothing negative to say about the V150.

There are things I really like about this camera, and things that I don’t. We have a long driveway surrounded by woods that we’ve been wanting surveillance on, for a long time. It’s hard to find a security camera that works without electricity and internet.

This one fits the bill! It’s very cool that you can pretty much use it wherever you want!!! It has an external battery and a solar panel for recharging! Keep in mind, this model doesn’t have video or audio recording.

So no live stream watching. only photos. You do have to download the app to use with your phone so it can notify you when it senses motion. However, unlike their other models, you’re required to purchase one of their plans to use it.

It only includes a 7 day free trial of their subscription and then you have to choose between 3 plans, the cheapest being $10/month. For the price of the camera, I wish they’d allow you to use it without having to pay a monthly fee.

If you spend a little more and opt for the V200, it offers video & audio along with photos, and you get a free 100 photos/month plan. This seems like a much better option in my opinion. Although I do think this is an awesome camera with unique capabilities, I recommend the upgraded V200 over this one because of the free plan and video offered.

Both have 2 year warranties, so no matter which one you choose, you cant go wrong!.

My MoultrieMobile camera has become Like one of my best friends. This purchase has not only been beneficial to us it has also provided valuable information. I am currently building a home which has had two thieves who have taken building materials and the well pump.

It has alerted me several times with people on my property. I would love to have another camera to put all of my property under surveillance. After we started using the camera it has provided great confidence in it.

I hope one day to use it for enjoyment watching the wildlife on my property. I also would like to comment on your support staff. During a phone call while under duress I was tutored by my contact on how to set up the camera.

I also made a second call and the young lady helped me to problem solve. The images are detailed and clear with no fuzziness due to motion. I thank you for a great product.

I spent several weeks researching, watching videos, charting and comparing. In the end I picked the Delta base due to the price point, picture quality, video capability although video was not a must.

I have had the camera for almost two months and love the picture cataloging to better understand deer movements. The picture quality is clear and provides the clarity I feel is better than any camera I have used to date.

The set up was as expected and only took a few minutes while at the house. I set the camera up on location and the signal appears to be having issues and lightning up green, but the camera has been working flawlessly since setup.

I’m using a homemade 12v solar battery pack and have no issue concerning battery life. I’m very satisfied with the camera and optimistic about future use.

This a great and affordable cell camera when it works. Unfortunately, they can be unreliable and will burn through expensive lithium batteries very quickly. It is hard to predict if it’s going work or fail when you put them in the field.

This kind of defects the advantage of the cell camera which should allow you to put it up and not have to come back to disturb your hunting area until you go back to hunt.

This camera was purchased after a 3 day struggle with the wonderfully. (NOT) SPYPOINT Cell-Link which never connected to any cell towers at home or anywhere! I spent a total of 1. 5hours on helpnline to never get an answer and over 6 hours on chat to which I was disconnected from Spypoint 3 times!! I did a bunch of checking to see whatvis the best camera for cell reception it most of the reviews point to the tactacam cameras.

I went to Winnipeg where I was fortunate to talk to someone who was pretty knowledgeable and told me if I wanted to try a couple camera and figure out which ones would work they had a 60 day return policy that would allow ample time.

I started with this camera at my cabin where I have to use a cell phone booster or I won’t get any service. This camera worked very well even when placed 60ft from the cabin. Most of the time it had 3 green bars and reported as strong.

After doing this for a couple weeks I decided to try an area where I get 1 or 2 bars with my cell phone but can’t really do much. I would get emails on occasion but could usually send a text. I put the camera up and found to report 3 green bars and strong signal to my surprise! I left the camera here and decided to give this a shot.

I noticed a day later the signal dropped to 2 bars and reported as moderate but still receiving pics! I can’t beleive it!! I am in the interlake region of Manitoba and needles to say I am very happy with the reception! I wish the packages were less but if you are only doing this for a couple months out of the year it won’t break the bank unless you have 20 of em!! I liked some of the other cameras as they had a entry level pa kage which was free with the camera but limited pictures per month.

Too bad they don’t have the cellular potential of the Tactacam!!.

OK I had hope to be able to give a better review of this camera. However, not so Camera is great thus far, just their plans don’t allow for request HD pictures or for any videos on all there plans(per their website).

App is pretty straightforward, setup simple. but beware that users will have to use SD card cls10 u3, you only will find out afterwards when you make call to customers service or view YouTube vids fan.

Now my issue is THIS if you want this camera, purchase only 1 and go elsewhere for different camera. not another tactacam. Reason is: you have accout setup, plan selected and now you have e 2nd camera you want to put out on property in another area to check new territory.

Problem is your 1st camera has 130 pictures already and now you ha e placed out your 2nd camera and excited about buck you’ve seen over there. Now comes problem, you add 2nd camera to your already established account with hope of getting 250 pictures out new camera???? Not so.

camera 1 and new 2nd camera will be POOLED together. remember 1st camera already has 130 pics and counting?! Your 2nd camera just out had even started yet. tactacam humps all your photos as one. so 130+ any remaining on new camera will reach 500 before your 2nd camera plan of 250 even take its allotted photos.

Now I’m now too happy about this pooling action. I want bot my camera to be able to have it own plan limits of 250 photos each. As one camera may be in high traffic area and take more photos the other.

Not sure how other hunters would like this. Course Tactacam customer service say you can always upgrade to higher cost plan, add overage for extra $5 OR open another account for second camera. Have tow separate plans.

I’ve had nothing but problems, since the day I received the first V150 (which tells you I’ve already had more than one). When the first unit was received, I didn’t have time to go through the full setup…so, in the meantime, I installed the mounting bracket where I intended, and attached the camera.

Unfortunately, I ended up having to go out-of-town on business for a few days, and it was during that time that a torrential multi-day storm came crashing down on Northern California. By the time I returned home, and waiting a few additional days for the storm to end, the camera’s housing ended up having water inside it.

Vosker states a IP65 rating, which, as defined, means “partial protection against dust that may harm equipment” (the ‘6’), and “protection against low-pressure jets (6. 3mm) of directed water from any angle (limited ingress permitted with no harmful effects” (the ‘5’).

I will concede that the storm we endured was far greater than what would normally be expected in Northern California…but, at the same time, I wouldn’t have expected water to actually get inside the housing.

Moving onto the second problem, I contacted someone at Vosker, to inquire about what was needing top be done. For the purpose of this review, I am not allowed to go into details…but, I can state that dealing with this situation took far longer than it should have, and more than a couple emails never received replies until I pressed further.

In the end, it took almost a month to receive a replacement unit, which I still haven’t installed…due to the next problem. After another ultra-busy week, I was finally able to get the camera activated, and set up within the app.

Activating the camera was simple enough. However, after getting the camera activated, I started going through the process of changing settings. One particular setting (honestly, I forget which) required the app to be restarted.

However, after shutting down the app (to be certain, I force-closed it before reopening it), and reopening it, I discovered that the app had logged me out, requiring me to log back in. Thankfully, I use a password manager, thus making entering my login info problem-free…except that the app refused to log me back in.

it gave me some error message about having difficulties communicating with the server. With other products, the user would have been informed (at least in-general) what the problem was, be it “login info incorrect”, or “server is down”, or “server is undergoing maintenance”, etc.

the Vosker app, on the other hand, provided NO information, so I had (and still have) no clue as to why I couldn’t log in. if it was a server matter, I would have expected it to be corrected within a few hours, or (at the latest) by the following day.

Here I am, two days later, still having the same problem. As such, the app, and the camera, are COMPLETELY USELESS. FINAL VERDICT: Based on my experiences so far, not only would I HIGHLY recommend avoiding purchasing the Vosker V150, I will go so far as to suggest avoiding ALL Vosker products.

If I could return this, and get my money back, I would. However, since I received the product free, for the purpose of reviewing the product, I am unable to do so. Even worse, I will still have to pay the taxes on a product that is unusable.

With the built-in solar panel, it’s truly a set-it-and-forget-it, mount-it-anywhere security camera. Speaking of its camera, this unit is only capable of taking photos and not video. Probably due to the combination of preserving battery life and the amount of data allotted for the monthly service, if I had to guess.

Photo captures are quite surprising and consistently good, with the only exception of the color production that seems to take cues from an old Polaroid picture. To keep this camera operating for its intended purpose, you will require a data plan.

If you forego the data plan, you will be able to use the camera with the included SD card, but you’ll have to remove the SD card to access the photos. There are three data plans to choose from (Elite, Alerted, Basic) and each has their own ## day history (30, 15, 7), ## photos a month (unlimited, 1000, 500) and finally an HD photo allowance (40, 20, 10).

The HD photos are there if you decide you need a higher resolution of an already taken photo. By default, lower resolution photos are uploaded to you; if you do need the higher rez photo, you make a request via the app/webapp to retrieve the HD photo.

I think this in turn will ping the V150 to upload the higher resolution photo that is already stored in the SD card, and finally make its way to you. It’s all about the data plan and what kind of agreement Vosker has with its 4G LTE provider (I think AT&T based on my conversation with Vosker CS) and what costs are being passed on to you.

If this is advertised as a feature, I am not a fan of it at all. Finally, it’s all about use-case scenarios (job sites, remote areas, very large property lot, etc). This camera has the unique ability to be mounted anywhere as long as there is sunlight and a cell tower nearby.

The app shows 4 out of 5 bars where I have it mounted, and in some cases 2 out of 5, but it was still able to successfully get my events to me. Battery life is actually very, very good for my particular purpose (no more than 200 events happening in a day, to be honest).

The battery just holds at 100% and hasn’t dipped. I even tried mounting it under a shaded area out of direct sunlight and the camera was still able to keep a full charge, so it really doesn’t take much to get the solar panel going.

For every new V150 you buy, you’re going to need to get another data plan, so these things can add up very quickly up front, as well as long term. Just something to think about if you’re considering standing up an array of these guys.

The V150 comes with a mount, internal battery, SD card, activated SIM card and a USB cable.

Before I talk about this camera, I have to say that I love eufy products. If you haven’t heard of eufy, they are a division of Anker. Most people have heard of Anker because they make great chargers and power banks for powering cell phones, tablets, and other electronic devices.

Ever since eufy came out with their first wireless security camera in 2018, I have felt that they make the best security cameras that you can buy. I have 4 outdoor and 6 indoor eufy cameras protecting my home, and they are the only brand that I recommend to others.

However, this new 4G Starlight camera is a very unique product, so please make sure that you really need the capabilities it provides before you spend your money. The ONLY way that you can use this camera is by having an active 4G LTE SIM card installed.

It does not support WiFi, which I feel is a huge disadvantage to this camera. Arlo has a competing model called the Arlo Go 2, which supports both 4G LTE and WiFi connections. In this case only, I recommend the Arlo camera although the video quality is better on the eufy, because having the ability to use WiFi as an option is critical in my opinion.

The only situation in which the eufy camera makes sense is if you will be using it in a location where you have no WiFi signal, and you will never use it where you have a WiFi signal. I was hoping to add this camera to my existing ones and use it as a 5th outdoor camera for my home.

I only planned to use the 4G LTE connection when I’m traveling and want to monitor the location where I am at (Such as a hotel room or a cabin), or maybe use this camera to monitor a campsite. But because it will only work with an active SIM card, my uses for it are very limited.

I can only take advantage of this camera when I’m traveling. If you own a vacation home that is in a remote location where you can’t get regular Internet service, this camera would be perfect for monitoring your property.

You could even use this camera to monitor a storage unit that you rent, as long as you can get a cellular signal inside the unit. It has 8GB of internal storage and there is no way to save videos to the cloud.

So if the camera is ever stolen, the SIM card stops working, or the camera is damaged; you will not be able to access any videos that it has recorded. That is another big disadvantage to this camera in my opinion.

There should be some other way to retrieve the videos other than over a 4G LTE data connection that you have to pay for. If you do buy this camera and ever receive a motion alert that is important, I recommend using the eufy app to immediately save a copy of the video to your phone, so that you don’t lose the data in the event the camera is later stolen.

When I received the camera, there were 2 statements printed on the outside of the box that I felt are misleading: “Free – No monthly fee” and “No monthly fee – Review your recordings for free with 8GB of local storage.

No subscription required”. These statements are misleading because many people would read them and think the 4GB LTE data connection is free, which is not the case. You don’t have to pay eufy any additional fees or subscribe to anything to use the camera or access your videos, but of course you have to pay for the data connection.

I wish eufy would redesign this camera with 3 changes: (1) Add WiFi capability, so that this camera can be used like their other cameras when you don’t want to use the 4G LTE connection, (2) Support Apple HomeKit, so that your videos can be stored directly in the cloud if you wish, and (3) Include a microSD card slot, so you can store videos locally to a card that can be removed and read on a computer, without having to connect to the camera using a data plan to retrieve your videos.

Many eufy cameras already support Apple HomeKit (Including 2 of my 4 outdoor eufy cameras and all 6 of my indoor ones), so I know this is possible. And adding WiFi capability would make this camera better than the Arlo Go 2 in every respect.

But given the current limitations of this camera, I can only recommend it to someone who needs a security camera in a remote location where having a regular WiFi connection will never be a possibility.

I bought 6 of these on Black Friday and Im using them at some rural self storage facilities. Only had them out for about 3 weeks but they are working well so far. I aimed them at the entry gates so you can see every vehicle that enters and leaves.

They send me an email every time they detect motion. I set up a dedicated Gmail account for this purpose. The batteries are at about 65% capacity after 3 weeks, so they will last well over a month, maybe 2, between charges.

Image quality is fairly good but you wont be reading license plates. Nighttime vision is decent as well. The intercom speaker quality is not very good. I have not used it but I tested it in one direction before installing them.

I could make out the words coming out of the camera speaker, but the sound was very tinny and distorted. I have not tested the siren feature since I dont intend to use it. After putting out the first two cameras, both stopped communicating with the app after about a day.

I dont know why this happened, but the simultaneous situation suggests the problem was not with the individual cameras but with the app. I had to re-initialize both cameras from the start. It has not happened again so far.

I now have all 6 cameras running in the app and all are functioning correctly at this time. If this snafu happens again I will try to update my review. As far as normal operation goes, I am generally happy.

My two gripes so far are (1) communication between the Reolink app and the camera can be tenuous. It frequently takes 2-3 attempts for the app to connect to any camera, regardless of cell signal strength.

It can also lose the connection while viewing a live stream, requiring you to reconnect, which can take 30 sec or more. This is not a big deal during normal operation, but it can make initial set up frustrating.

(2) Once you have initialized the camera, it appears that the only way to change the name of the camera is to reset it and go through the entire initialization process over again. Since these cameras are designed to move around easily, it seems to me it should be easier to rename them as you move them around.

Reolink is based in Hong Kong and all customer support is handled by email and their hours are on Hong Kong time, so there is no real-time communication. They do respond to emails the next day, but its not ideal if youre dealing with a technical problem.

Their email English was broken, but their meaning was clear. The packaging and literature are slick design-wise but the English in the kit also is poor, although understandable. I am not using the cloud subscription that Reolink offers.

I bought 32 Gb SD cards at Walmart (2 for $11. 99). Since I get pics emailed to me in real time, i Dont really need video. Bud if I did want to see video on a rare occasion, I can retrieve the SD card and read it on my laptop.

I bought a 2 Tb/month data-only plan from T-Mobile. You cannot share a plan between cameras, so each requires its own 2 Tb plan. Each SIM card is $10/month on auto-pay ($15/mo if you dont set up auto-pay).

There is also an addition setup charge at the time of purchase. So far Ive only used about 0. 2 Tb, so I done think I will ever need more than the 2 Tb, but if I do, T-Mobile doesnt cut you off, it just throttles speed from 4G to 3G.

All in all these cameras are a good solution for my purpose. I just hope they will last a few years. If they dont, Ill try to report back about that.

This took me, a novice DIY, about 10 minutes to fit the actual units outside. Then I followed the quick start guide and it was on my phone within minutes. This was so simple, less than half an hour to provide security for my home and peace of mind.

The quality of the footage for both day and night are brilliant, and I can clearly see what is going on in the garden. I also got the solar panel with mine which I can see has already kept the battery charged.

I like that it is only activated by a PIR sensor, which is very quick to react, as it saves me watching hours and hours of footage! You can opt for a siren when it is activated and there are LED lights that clearly show the unit is active and recording.

You can watch live or playback from an SD card. I am so impressed that I hope to get another one for the front of the house now! I would 100% recommend this product and company.

I bought this camera for our horses field. It took very little time to get it all set up and working and I am now able to keep an eye on what’s happening there all the time. The fact that it includes an internet connection makes it great for areas where there is no wifi possibility and being connected to the solar panel means it can be set up anywhere.

I will not hesitate to purchase another one if the need arises. The live feed that you get is very high quality and I like that it also records when it picks up movement so you have proof if required.

This camera also has good quality night vision.

I’ve used Covert Cameras for years now and haven’t had a whole lot of problems until recently. Had a camera out of warranty of this type and called covert. It only had 2 issues, one button didn’t work and it only flashed 50% of the time.

Otherwise, everything else was fully functional. They said for $25 dollars they could attempt to fix it, if not I could upgrade to a new one for $100 off the price, or just get my old one back. I sent it in, they attempted to fix it and supposedly it totally quit after their repairs.

They said I could either upgrade for $100 off a new one or since they worked on my now totally broken one, I’d have to pay $25 to get it back in a 100% non functional state. I’m not expecting a new camera, I would just assume they might give you more if they are the reason the camera is in worse shape than when they received it.

Horrible service, they just kept repeating to me that it was out of warranty and either $100 off a new one or $25 for the old one that. I would expect that you take care of customers if you were the one that made it worse.

Heck, even send me an old refurb one, not break it and tell me to deal with it. Never again with covert.

I started using cellular cameras 4 years ago and used spypoint. Recently they both quit working so I tried covert. I hunt in an area of very weak cell signal. My cell phone will usually not send a pic if I text.

Set up of the covert cam was easy. Had to get the booster antenna to get signal. The sd card that came with camera was no good. After 1 pic it would say card full. Switched cards and it works very well and sends much better pics than Spypoint cams.

I just ordered another one. Hope they add a solar version or external 12v option in future. That would be icing on the cake.

It takes a photo when triggered by movement, in my case deer but the deer are never fully in the picture, I have tried all trigger settings with no success. The camera photo quality is far from desirable.

Many less expensive cameras have a much better picture quality. If you are wanting a decent photo over 10 yards this is not the camera for you. I give it a 3 because it has cool features.

I recently bought one Moultrie edge trail camera. It is so simple to use it’s plug and play turn it on make sure it takes a picture mounted to a tree! These cameras get great cell reception and can send pictures with a weak signal.

Also there is no SD card so it is incredible very little maintenance on them. I was so happy with my camera I purchased two more so I have three total. The image is transmitted out for megapixels but they’re good enough to see what you have if you want further detail you can purchase the picture or request the video.

Customer service is outstanding I had one initial issue trying to set one up and customer service quickly responded and resolved my own problem. It wasn’t Cameron‘s fault. Then my last trail cam I turned on was taking pink pictures.

They have you try a dark room/light room test and I performed it twice and it didn’t work so I requested a new Camera through customer service. There was no hesitation and they said since we’ve tried this we will send you a new camera as soon as they receive my defective camera.

Multi products are great and so is customer service. Very satisfied!.

Ive owned several different cams and am a engineer that has developed new consumer products for my employer. The Link-S is complete garbage! The app and the camera stop syncing causing you to factory reset the camera over and over.

It takes 3 days to charge the internal battery that is at 60% after 8 hours and one picture. The solar panel either does nothing or its that much of battery eater that it never charges. 8 hrs in the sunlight and 40% of the battery is gone????? Really spy point? After 24 hours and 5 pictures the internal battery and 8 AA batteries are dead! Spy Points support and costumer service has bankers hours and only works Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5pm.

If you do get them on the phone, none of them know anything about the camera or the free app. And are fairly rude to add insult to injury, They are unwilling to help you or do anything for you. Oh and I forgot to mention, the on/off switch on the camera does work right you need to keep pressure in on the switch while flipping it to get the camera to turn on or off.

The picture quality is mediocre at best. At the price point this thing is a flop and a half! I never even got it working long enough to get it to the food plot. If this were a $29. 95 camera I would expect everything that it is, but I will NEVER own another SpyPoint product for the rest of my life!!!!!! Ive even considered driving to their headquarters and throwing this POS through their front window!.

Purchased as a last solution. Had some initial power issues due to the fact I put no batteries in. Manual was not clear on need for those. Put in standard batteries and works great. Extended ant. Medium sensitivity.

Few false motion pics. Have not pulled the card yet but I assume they are better than the cell. Good security. Can see deer, coyote, rabbits and the damned neighbors dog. You can see the temperature and get a camera check by telling it to snap a pic on next transfer.

Wish it was cheaper but it works for me. Got a security cage for it too.

If you control your cell camera from your phone like I do, there isn’t really a need for all the bells and whistles… by far this is the best value cell camera out there! You wont be dissapointed…

I have the covert and 2 SPYPOINT the covert instructions are pretty spotty but once set up it is awesome the SPYPOINTs are junk

The cams are small and compact which makes it convienient to find locations to place them. Initial setup was problematic and took half an hour due to having to preform a hard reset on 1 camera. Daytime photos were clear but the night photos were blurry so I had to calibrate the ir by placing it in a dark room and moving around to trigger the photo capture for 6 mins and then turning on a light and repeating the process a total of 4 times.

After doing as instructed by the manufacturer all photos are now clear with no issues. If using AA batteries instead of a 12v or solar adapter then be sure to only use Energizer Lithium batteries as other brands die rather quickly ( the brand new Energizer Max batteries used when first set up only lasted 2 days).

Despite the initial issues thus far the cams are preforming better than our old game cameras. Pros: Compact making it easier to find discrete locations to mount. Camera shutter is quieter than other cams.

Doesnt require high mounting like some trail cameras ( these preform best when mounted between 3 and 5 feet off ground. ) Differentiates and tags photos as Doe, Buck, or Turkey. Cons: Initial setup can be aggrivating due to server connection calibration.

Despite activating online which usually is a fairly quick process there was a delay in server connection even though the location had full service. The celluar application for the cams seems to still be under construction and notifications and delivery of photos taken are not immediatly sent to the app or your phone.

I have never left a review for a product but I feel that I must for this one. I purchased 2 of these cameras with the moultrie AA’s and SD cards. Set everything up and no issues. Installed out in my hunting areas one camera worked fine the other drained the batteries in about a week.

Replaced the batteries and moved the camera to get more service and still drained the batteries. Purchased moultries 12v battery box to power supply and extended battery life by about 2 weeks. Dead again.

Replaced AA’s for the third time and the 12v the second time and the batteries drained to 81% in just 2 days… all while my other camera has had the original AA batteries and is sitting at 78% after 3 months and my other camera has had 3 sets of AA’s and 2 12V batteries and costumer service states that there is no issue and to monitor it if it happens again.

Then if I were to receive a new camera I have to send this broken one to them, they need to process it, then send me a new one roughly 2-3 week process of not being with a camera during the middle of the season!! Absolutely terrible will never buy another moultrie product again.

They are not what they used to be. had this same issue with my feeder motor and I had to pay to ship the broken one to them! Unreal.

We bought this camera to keep an eye on our house during the night. We live in a rough area and we’ve had issues with people coming into our yard and stealing water or banging on windows or trying to steal gas out of our cars.

The smart tags like to tag our dogs as people and notifications lag pretty hard. This camera also eats batteries really quickly, even just within two or three days, and it takes twelve so the upkeep is kind of expensive.

I also really didn’t like the fact that even after following the instructions, I had to call customer service to get the camera set up and even log into the app the first time. On the flip side, the night vision is surprisingly good quality, and we do get tons of pictures.

I really like that I don’t have to fish the SD card out to take a look at the footage as well. It provides a lot of peace of mind for us, and seems to hold up really well. The camera itself does what it’s supposed to really well, it’s just the actual app portion of things that’s an issue, which is okay since the company doesn’t seem to specialize in that.

I would recommend better software developers though.

I was in my stand this evening and watched 3 deer and a coyote walk past my camera, all at different times, but no photos. About 20 minutes ago I get an alert, look at it, and of course it’s just a picture of nothing.

I will add it to the collection of ghost pictures this thing has been taking. (Yes, I have adjusted the settings many times. ) At least I know there are deer coming to my feeder, even if this thing won’t take a picture of them.

Love setting being done by my phone app. Live feed and video available. Ive been using it for a few weeks now and the live pic comes in about 22 seconds after photo is taken! Love it! The picture quality is great day and night! Watching the raccoons , deer, and wild hogs makes hunting from the back porch amazing! Save up cause its pricey but Im enjoying mine so far.

I am not that tech savvy but calling into Spartan was a wonderful experience with the tech person. The only complaint I have is the trigger is a bit slow. You need to set the camera looking up or down the trail NOT perpendicular to the trail.

Cost up front is OK but using Verizon, since I have a plan with them, is the best. 5 bucks a month. WOW.

Gets decent reception, takes average photos and could use some improvement. activation is complicated and time consuming, but once done provides excellent control remotely and has good battery life. I have been disappointed in most wireless cams this one is the best so far.

Really like the camera & the acess to the pictures on the phone tablet or PC. The only thing I dont like is that you have to pay for a monthly service to get the pics to your device on top of the monthly cell service plan.

Some other cameras you only have to pay for the cell service.
