This product worked exactly as advertised. A little goes a long way. I used it to seal the grout between the new countertop and existing tile backsplash. If you use too much it looks like there’s a bunch of Vaseline so use sparingly.

Just enough to put a sheer layer is enough for waterproofing. A couple of notes: You will see a bunch of reviews saying the container exploded on them. This is most likely because they didn’t break the seal.

You need to poke a hole in the seal in addition to cutting the tip off. Also, the product smells very strongly of vinegar. I don’t mind it. In fact I prefer it to the chemical odor of other sealants.

All in all I was very happy with this product.

Item was very messy because tubing is not sturdy. The base of the tube kept popping off and the silicon was very hard to get to come from the top of the tube. Had to throw the entire tube away because the base kept sliding off and couldn’t stop the product from seeping from the top.

Really messed up my project. Not the seller’s fault at all. Just not good packaging for the product.

I used this GE Supreme Paintable Silicone White Kitchen and Bath Caulk for the first time to waterproof around my bathtub. On my first try I noticed that this caulk really was waterproof, went on smoothly, and dried very quickly like it states on the label.

I like to use my finger to smooth the caulk. I’ve never had a problem doing this with other brands because it washes right off using only water. When I went to rinse my hand this time it wasn’t as simple as I was use to which is a great thing.

I had to apply soap a couple of times to get all the caulk out. This makes me feel very confident that the GE Supreme Paintable Silicone White Kitchen and Bath Caulk will protect around the bathtub for a very long time.

Unlike the last caulk I used on my bathtub less than 6 months ago which molded and cracked. Another difference I noticed was how quickly it began to dry. My husband took a shower about 2 hours after I had caulked around the bathtub and it didn’t affect the caulk at all.

With other brands we had to restrain from using the bathtub for 24 hrs and even after waiting that long it still washed off in some places. I would definitely buy the GE Supreme Paintable Silicone White Kitchen and Bath Caulk again for projects around the house and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a reliable caulk!.

This stuff works great so far. I comes out smooth and is a bit more tacky than regular caulking. I used it to seal a leak in my eavestrough and a gap on the shed floor. There was water pooling under my shed and it would come up through the gap.

I was worried this stuff wouldn’t cure properly over a wet gap but it wasn’t a problem. We’ll see if it stands the test of time.

This GE Supreme M90026-30 Window and Door Silicone Caulk, was applied over an alklyd oil base priming paint that was applied to bare wood window frames at dry for 48 hours. The paint sticks well to the sealant.

The excess was wiped off with mineral spirits (paint thinner) and the GE sealant let dry for 48 hours. It was subsequently top coated with an oil base enamel paint. The paint adhered very well to this GE sealant and I am hoping it will remain that way even if the paint does not remain as flexible as the caulking.

I did not want to use acrylic caulking because no matter what the manufacturers claim ‘acrylic caulk’ shrinks over time a cracks within one year.

My store sells this in traditional caulking tube that you need a caulking gun to use. It’s not listed as available at my local store on the app, but the boxes on the shelf prove that it is. Any way, that’s not a problem at all.

The product in the tube works great! It stays flexible, seals great, is easy to work with, and it really adheres to the work area. The problem is you have to use the tube the day you open it. If you don’t, forget about getting the rest out of the nozzle end of the tube.

For some reason, after a few days when I needed to use the rest of the tube, it would not come out of the nozzle. Instead, it came out inside the other end of the tube. This stuff is sticky, and it was difficult to release the plunger of my caulking gun from the inside of the tube.

This has happened to two tubes in a row. The odd thing is, when I stick a wire into the nozzle, it goes in with minimal resistance and comes out coated in the silicone. Once the wire is removed, the product will practically erupt from the nozzle.

You’d think you should be able to use the caulking gun regularly after this, but you’d be mistaken. It will only continue to come out into the other end of the tube.

For background, I’ve been extremely disappointed with commercially available crack fillers for my asphalt driveway. They temporarily fill the cracks and then due to the differences in coefficient of expansion and a lack of elasticity they also crack.

Using this product (black silicone) to seal out moisture and prevent plants from growing in the asphalt is the right solution. It expands and contracts with the driveway and brilliantly provides its primary purpose of sealing out moisture and plants which degrade and damage the asphalt.

It will prevent asphault sealers from adhering to your driveway affecting asthetics of the drive but that’s an acceptable trade off for me in what it does. Thumbs up!.

I’ve been using Big Stretch for years as a professional painting contractor. Product has always delivered performance and ease of use. After reading several 1 star reviews, it’s apparent that the people who left them don’t know how to caulk.

The bead shrank and there’s a gap the next day? All caulk shrinks. they left too small of a bead to begin with. The bead curls on itself and won’t stick? Amazing. now wipe the dust off and lay down a bead on a clean surface, and make sure the gun is at the right angle.

Doesn’t dry fast enough? That’s great, you’ve just learned how to read directions before using. Big Stretch recommends 24 hours to dry. There are brands that are fast drying and can be painted over in 30 minutes.

Use those if you’re in a hurry. I use Big Stretch because going back to a job 6 months or a year later to recaulk all the cracks that came back because I used $. 99/tube caulk doesn’t pay anything.

It is easy to use and clean up. It spreads like mayo and cleans up with water, smooth to apply and paintable waterproof too. I’ve used it before and find that it stretches very well so reapplication doesn’t seem necessary, I am caulking things that I had to use dap on that has opened up, none of the Big Stretch has opened up or failed.

With a little tape and a wet rag I can cut out the old dap or cover it and feel confident that I won’t have any problems.

I first tried this when installing my new windows in the house, the guys who own the local lumber yard were contractors and then later bought the lumber yard, so I trusted their thoughts on buying the right caulk for the job at hand.

They weren’t kidding either, it’s been 5+ years now and this caulk is still soft, stretches and looks just as good as the day I laid it down. I’ve used it around the kitchen sink, in the bathroom around the tub, and every place you can ever think of needing to lay a bead of caulk down.

My only complaint with it, when you want this stuff to come off, you’d better have plenty of very sharp razors to help you and be prepared to spend some time doing it. If you want something that is going to do the job and you don’t need to worry about recaulking later down the line, this is the best stuff I’ve ever found.

I am a contractor and used this product on a brand new & cleaned tub and shower enclosure. Cracked and came off in places within 6 months. Had to remove all and replace GRRRRRRRRRRR!

I used one tube but it was not normal quality or stickiness when applying. The manufacturer told me it was probably expired and not normal quality. I must warn to check carefully before using caulks that may be old stock and defective as mine.

Normally THIS CLEAR CAULK should have a slimy stickiness on your fingers that is hard to wash off. This defective batch was not like that. I hope my hours work up a ladder won’t have to be redone. Normally it should have super adhesion and super flexibility and noticeable shrinkage when dry.

Used on new construction interior doors, windows and trim. First tube worked well with dripless caulk gun. Every tube after that would not stop flowing after two different dripless caulk guns, and releasing the pressure.

7 out of 8 tubes performed that way. Spent more time cleaning the gun, floor and application area. Very disappointed.

Used appropriately this is a fine product. However, it’s like all general use caulks and it’s not good for every application. It’s not a gap filling material, it’s a seam or crack sealing material. If the area where you plan to use it is more than 3/8″(ish) in depth or width you need to put backing rod (aka caulk saver) in the gap first.

Otherwise the caulk will fail in short order as the surface materials it’s on move with temperature and/or humidity. It won’t work as desired unless the surfaces where it’s to be applied are clean, dry and not dusty.

Air temperature and humidity must be “nice”. Too hot, cold or humid and it’ll fail. If it’s going to be exposed to the elements then you need to pick a time when the weather is expected to cooperate with the manufacturers instructions.

Although manufacturers curing times are kind of generic and ultimately dependent entirely on all the factors above, no general use caulk is going to fully cure quickly. They’ll skin over pretty fast (a few days) and seem cured to the touch they require significantly longer to cure properly.

If you don’t wait and apply a coating that dries at a different rate (everything) it’ll fail and you’ll waste the coating material as well. That said, there are lots of products that will allow you to bypass one or more of the requirements of general purpose caulk, but they all have trade offs.

Greatly more expensive, less coverage area, special tools and toxicity being the major factors. General purpose caulks are generally the best solution to most any sealing application you’re going to have in and around homes and buildings.

Specialized products are available if you really need them, but spend the time before the money to make sure you’re aware of the trade offs. Lastly, 100% silicone caulks are almost never the right answer.

They are best suited to keeping glaziers and kitchen/bath specialists busy removing it and replacing it with general purpose caulk the DIY crowd so often misunderstands.

I have used the 5. 5 oz tube actually ordering my 6th tube now. Apparently after 15 years a neighbor appears to now be breeding these cockroaches. I’m filling every single crack in all of my cabinets, baseboards, light fixtures, etc soooo many cracks tooooo many cockroaches.

Anyways, it is super effective & I prefer the ability to use my hand to apply it. It allows for better control especially in tight spaces. Do you make an expanding foam for spaces too large for caulking?.

Theres lots of caulk out there so you gotta tread carefully. Some caulk can mislead you. Let’s just call it a caulk jungle. Alex Plus is not perfect for all situations but it is ideal for trim and moulding.

It’s probably the easiest to apply. Super smooth is one word. But, I would not use it in a bathroom as it is not perfectly waterproof. I’ve seen it go hard and then soft again. Even a year later. What’s up with that.

And it has extra protection against mold. Those are too things you just don’t want: Hard/soft nonsense and you seriously don’t want moldy caulk. But the one thing above all it just smells dang good. It’s weird.

Better than all others. I will and have recommended Alex Plus to my friends.

Tried this product many times. Utter garbage. Doesn’t set hard. And when it does, it sets in white, not clear as advertised. Seems to be a known/recurring problem. Home Depot should listen to its customers and resolve this with the manufacturer, who seem to be making excuses that their product had no defects – nonsense! After scraping it all off, i tried MONO Silicone instead, worked perfectly first time; although it is pricey, but at least it did the job perfectly.

I only wish Home Depot would restock the GE Silicone brand which when i previously used it worked well, and cost less than the MONO brand. HD, please do something about this!.

Quad Max Clear, 10 oz worked wonders on my old windows my home is very old, my windows are about 50 to 80 years olds and the sealant was very cracked and even by a touch it would fall off, I thought about replacing but at this time it would be very costly so I deciding to repair these older windows and repaint.

I used this quad max around the crevices and and to hold window pane in place it worked great! It was not as messy as other products I have used and window look and feel so mich better less air breezing through window when it is cold outside and when it rains it protects from water seeping in.

It dried by the next day and was very easy to paint over now I have to purchase more to finish about 16 more windows it will be lengthy process but it looks mich better and is worth it. I was able to use 1 tube on one window and a half.

I would recommend this product to others smooths out easily, less messy dry and is easy to paint over, also protects great against rain and cold weather.

As I checked the caulking around my windows, I noticed some needed to be redone. After looking at the options, I went with this. Good choice. The caulking goes on easily and smoothly. The clearness remains even after drying.

I have had some that turned murky as soon as they dried. Later that evening, we got hit with a major rain storm that came in early. I feared some water would leak through. After the storm, I checked and could not see any indications of water seepage.

This stuff is great. Highly recommend this for windows and other projects.
