Extended rear-facing car seats are designed for children to stay in the rear-facing position for as long as possible. This type of seat is usually used for children up to the age of four or five, but some seats can accommodate children up to the age of 40 pounds.

I have a 2018 Silverado extended cab truck (small back seat), and it is a struggle to fit a rear facing car seat in behind one of the front seats without moving the seat all the way forward and tilting it up to an uncomfortable degree.
So the goal was to find a car seat that actually fit. So I purchased both the Extend2Fit and the Britax Emblem based on the reviews from babygearlab. The Extend2Fit is the smaller car seat of the two in almost every dimension.
In rear-facing mode the Britax made the front seat almost unusable for anything other than a quick trip. The I tried the Graco in rear-facing mode and wow, it fit. I was able to put it on the 3 or 4 recline (for children that can sit up), and the front seat is exactly where I want it.
You can even pull out the extender the first couple of notches and the front seat is still comfortable for someone 5′-6 for a long journey and someone 5′-11 for trips around town. In forward facing mode the Britax side bolsters are so large that it is a really tight squeeze for the small door opening (font seat unaffected).
In forward facing the Graco’s side bolsters are a little smaller, so it will be a little easier for him to climb in when that time comes. There may be a better option in forward facing mode, but this will work for me.
In a car both are great options, though on overall build quality, I’d give the Britax a slight edge. So we’ll be keeping that for my wife’s car, which has plenty of room.
We chose this carseat (and bought 2) because it is an affordable option that gets amazing safety ratings. The cupholders are also a big plus. It’s relatively lightweight, we just took it on the plane, strapped it to the rolling carry on with a carseat strap which worked great and were able to get it on and off the plan and rental cars quickly and easily.
To adjust the height is super easy too with the top handle which is great if more than one child might be using it. Unfortunately, I do have to report that the straps are not the most comfortable, they rub my daughters hips.
I did do a ton of research on fitting etc. and they still rub a bit and that’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars. Not enough of a reason for us to make a different choice, but just something to keep in mind.
Compared to her Britax Advocate, she finds the Britax much more comfortable but it’s also much bulkier, and more expensive for the same safety ratings.
I’ve tried so many different convertible seats for my now 2 year old when we visit my parents after flying. She only sits rear facing. We have tried many brands AND other Graco seats. This one is so darn easy to install, both latch and seatbelt ways.
Others just don’t compare to the ease it is to install this one. It is like a luxury plush recliner for her. It has so many different levels for reclining. It’s aesthetically pleasing. It is not ridiculously wide like so many other seats.
On the most upright rear facing recline setting, it fits perfectly in our 2011 Toyota Corolla which has a tiny backseat, where tall people can still drive comfortably with it installed. It’s just the best.
The 2-position design offers a rear-facing position and a forward-facing position so you can easily adjust as your child grows. An extension panel provides an extra 5 of legroom in the rear-facing position giving your child more legroom so they can comfortably ride in that position for longer.
Use the rear-facing position for children between 4 and 50 lbs. and the forward-facing position for children between 22 and 65 lbs. Specifications: Height: 22. 32″ – 25. 16″ Width: 19. 25″ – 19. 76″ Depth: 22.

I will start by saying we LOVE this slender seat. If you’re looking for something that is safe but yet minimal this is the seat! (((( I want to plug this in here because I know when you have a smaller vehicle you have to do your research to find seats that fit- I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma 4 door.
I am 5’4” and my husband is 5’10”. )))) My almost 4 year old was not at all pleased with any of her convertible seats and I was over hearing those complaints. The design of convertible seats always guide little legs/feet to go up and straight out forcing feet on the back of the front seats.
Convertible seats are so darn bulky. With the Diono she can now climb into her own seat! Big sister can now comfortably ride in the middle. the Diono fits in the middle seat too. There is space to comfortably have 2 other kids or 2 adults next to this seat.
It’s seriously doesn’t take up any extra space at all! It seems like it’s just a manufacture add-on to the vehicles seat. It looks almost like an aftermarket 5 point harness adult seat (but mini). It’s narrow, sleek and awesome! I was told these are notoriously hard to install so I fueled up on some carbs and was prepared to get a good sweat on.
but it was super easy to install forward facing with the seat belt (phew). If you’re going to be rear facing you would have to install in the middle. I wouldn’t use this seat for a newborn. We did purchase two cup holders but if you want you can order 4 cup holders.
My little isn’t the biggest fan of the large chest clip pads but she forgot about them after 2-3 car rides.
first thing, these seats are very well made and pretty! the colors are far better than the pictures. i needed three, i got a pink, blue and a red. they are all very easy to adjust and buckle in. all three seats fit across the back row of my dodge grand caravan, which was a must with another child on the way.
i saw alot of reviews about the instructions, they are there. theres a pocket on the inside of the cover(look from the back of the seat left side i believe, you dont have to remove the cover, it is tucked inside) i absolutely love these seats, and very well may be replacing my youngest seats with these soon!.
With the Pria 3-in-1, you can take comfort in knowing that you’ll have a safe, comfortable car seat for your child, from birth to 10 years old. Children can ride rear-facing, from 1. 8kg – 18kg (4-40 pounds); forward-facing to 29.
48kg (65 pounds); and up to 45. 35kg (100 pounds) in booster mode. It may be the only car seat you’ll ever need.
This car seat is great! I love the cushion feel of it making it extra comfortable for my 16-month-old. The headrest and shoulder straps also add an extra layer of comfort. I also really appreciate the fabric that goes over the buckle in case it gets hot outside.
It is easy to loosen and tighten the straps when putting my daughter in and taking her out of the car seat. The shoulder straps are easily adjustable for when she grows. I also really like the fact there are 2 cup holders and magnetic buckle holders.
The car seat itself is not heavy like some of my other car seats are. I like that the inserts can easily be removed if not needed or wanted. I also appreciate the fact that this car seat can be used throughout the entire lifespan through all stages of development.
Overall, this car seat is amazing, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an all-in-one car seat. The only problem I ran into was installation. Installing this car seat was not easy whatsoever.
I like to test the ease of a car seat install in the backseat of my husband’s 2 door Dodge Challenger. I prefer to install using the latch system. My daughter is still rear-facing, and I plan to keep her that way until she maxes out the requirements.
The latch system was almost impossible to maneuver. I could not get them tight enough to where the seat wouldn’t move more than an inch from side to side. I tried all 3 seats that were available in my husband’s back seat, and it would not get tight enough.
I then tried in my minivan to see if it was just my husband’s car. Sadly, no. The latch system would not work for me, and my husband tried tightening the latch system as well (he’s very strong) and when he couldn’t get it, I gave up.
The seatbelt install worked perfectly fine and took me less than 2 minutes to do. If you are looking to use the latch system, I would not recommend this car seat, however, the seat belt install works perfectly fine!.

The radian is also aircraft certified (FAA approved), so you can take safety with you wherever you go!.
This is a great seat and safe…. but very disappointed that my daughter cannot use it anymore. We Bought 2 of these seat because it’s supposed to grow with your child. It supposed to be for kids up to 120 pounds/10 years old.
My daughter is only seven and she is already too tall for this seat. She is average height for her age. I’m not sure what 120 pound kid/10 year old would fit in the seat as the headrest don’t go up tall enough!! It is very uncomfortable for her.
Also the headrest does adjust but often slides down during travel. Very frustrating! They did send us a replacement for the headrest to hold it in place better but still isn’t great and still the headrest cannot adjust any higher or come off.
Also forget about using the water bottle holders for a reusable water bottle. Can fit a disposable cup from a fast food spot but not a standard refillable bottle.
We really love this car seat! It’s so weird seeing it in your car after having a huge car seat before. I love all the extra room it gives us. The installation was not near as difficult as some reviews say it is.
We installed it forward facing. Just put the seatbelt through the forward facing belt path and attach the anchor latch, make sure everything is tight and you’re done! It installed super tight with little effort.
And as far as weight it’s just as heavy as our britax boulevard. My 4 year old loves it as well, no complaints after a week of using it. If I had to say one negative thing about it, it would be the side seat extenders.
The are wiggly unless you push them out. I think that feature could definitely be improved.
I have never been so disappointed about a car seat. It is impossible to install. My husband and I have both tried to install it in our vehicles. We have tried the latch system as well as the seatbelt.
It wiggles way more than an inch from side to side at the base and at the top. We currently own Britax, Chicco, and Graco car seats, and we have never had this problem with any of those. We purchased this simply because we felt our child was ready for a car seat that wasn’t so bulky.
I even did a virtual install with Diono and they told me that the seat was “fine” because once a child is sitting in it, it wouldn’t wiggle as much. Even with him sitting in it, it wiggles to the point where we cannot safely transport our child in this car seat.
At this point, we wasted $400 because we will not be using this.

This is probably a great and very safe car seat, however the reason I have to return mine is they use a ball bearing inside a plastic tube as the level (our old chico had a bubble in the fluid like a carpenters level) and it rattles terribly! It rattles even worse when I’m driving by myself and the seat is empty.
I can’t believe the research and development team missed this, maybe they were designing a very safe car seat which is great, but come on. Lol, I didn’t make it out of the neighborhood and I’m looking in the back seat thinking what in the world is that noise! I couldn’t give it one star because other than the rattle I’m sure it’s a fantastic seat for the money.
I couldn’t give it any higher of a review however because I have to return it. Buying the Nuna executive for three times the money. Better not make a sound!.
I LOVE this car seat. It was important to me that the seat rear faced and forward faced, as well as the extension to rear face longer since my son is very tall for his age. I bought this when he outgrew his infant seat around 8 months old.
He’s now 14 months and it’s a fantastic car seat. I would recommend this to anyone, and it’s so great that it’s convertible. I’m currently using the extension so my son can still rear face. I have nothing bad to say about this seat honestly.
I just bought a second one for my parents to have in their car, because it’s the easiest and best car seat I’ve tried. So worth the price, but I managed to get both on sale!.
After a lot of searching for a 3rd car seat that wouldn’t get a lot of use, we settled on this one. Key word is SETTLED. It was on clearance for a damaged box at BBB for $109 and at that price we thought we’d be stupid to pass it up.
My biggest chief complaint with the seat is the installation. I’ve installed 3 different makes of convertible seats with LATCH and the seatbelt method (which I usually prefer) and this by far the WORST and most frustrating seat to try and get a secure, tight installation.
I prefer my son to be in the middle and forget about it with this seat. Switched to LATCH for a side position and after huffing and puffing and getting a full work out, it still wasn’t as tight as others I’d put in.
I even had my neighbor who’s a fire chief try and tighten it more and he couldn’t. I realize you shouldn’t over tighten but this seat doesn’t give me 100% confidence. The padding is pretty lackluster but at least the material is soft.
The little details such a strap holders and crotch padding aren’t there. The only nice thing I can say about this car seat is it’s easy to tighten my toddler in and he actually uses the cup holders, which he doesn’t in his Nuna Rava.
Overall I wish I could return this car seat and just get something different- NOT a Graco. Everything I’ve ever used made from Graco seems cheap and very user unfriendly. Two thumbs down for this seat.
One4Life takes your child from birth to big kid with Britax USA USA USA safety and click tight installation. It easily converts from a rear-facing infant car seat, to a forward-facing 5-point harness seat, to a high-back belt-positioning booster seat.
The cool flow mesh fabric improves air flow, keeping your child comfortable for the ride. Click tight is as easy as buckling a seat belt, so you can instal with confidence, every time. Colour-coded belt paths show you where to route the seat belt for each installation mode.
Plus, easy-read indicators help you find the correct recline angle. A high strength steel frame, Crumple zone, and V-shaped tether help absorb crash energy. And, 2 layers of side impact protection surround your child’s head, neck and torso.
As your baby grows, adjust the 15-position headrest & harness in seconds To create the perfect fit. When it’s time for booster mode, simply tuck the harness into the built-in storage compartment.
This convertible car seat is comfortable for your child and convenient for you as it transitions from rear-facing infant car seat (four to 40 pounds) to forward-facing five-point harness seat (20 to 65 pounds) to high-back belt-positioning booster (30 to 100 pounds) to backless belt-positioning booster (40 to 120 pounds).
For a proper fit, the Simply Safe Adjust Harness System and 10-position headrest lets you adjust the harness and headrest together, with no rethreading. The six-position recline keeps your child comfortable, while the InRight LATCH system with one-second attachment makes installation easy.
Dimensions 24 inches (H) x 21. 5 inches (W) x 20 inches (D).
As a parent all we want is to protect our children! When I was first looking at car seat it was very overwhelming because of the vast variety of car seats on the market. Of course we want the best of the best and there’s no price you could put on protecting our children.
Given some companies like to use that to their advantage. I personally think the price of this product is well worth it due to the fact that it is a 4 in 1 car seat meaning you can use it from the time that they are a newborn up until the weight capacity up to 10 years.
Car seat companies typically base everything by weight, even if your child is the right age to be “foward facing” it all depends on their weight. What I love about this 4 in 1 car seat is it can be rear facing or forward facing.
My son has been using this since he was about a year old. What really sold me on this car seat is how it grows with them, it comes with all the newborn inserts that can be taken out later on. Graco ProtectPlus protection was created to be durable through a combination of the most rigorous crash tests to protect our children from frontal, side, rear and rollover crashes.
Things to know: • It has InRight LATCH attachment which provides and easy 1 second attachment with an audible click to ensure secure installation. •Rapid remove cover pulls off in 60 seconds making cleaning a breeze.
It is machine washable, but remember never put it in your dryer. Only hang dry to prevent the cover from shrinking. •There are 6-Position Recline and has leveler on the side to ensure you have it installed properly.
I highly recommend this car seat if you are on the hunt for one! I’d also buy directly from Graco themselves they tend to have a coupon or good sales going on! A bonus is once bought you can register your car seat on the website and the information is stored on your profile.

Reviews From Real Customers
As a mother of two (soon to be three), I am always on the lookout for ways to save money and not be wasteful especially in this day and age. Understanding that child car seats are built for safety, sometimes it’s difficult when you have children 6 years and under in which you know you’d eventually have to buy replacement car seats for due to the typical 6 year lifespan that most car seats have.
Let’s not even talk about the amount of storage space you need to have for all the car seats you’d need for the different stages your children are at! I love that Graco has created the Grows4Me car seat that is built for newborns up to ten year olds.
Thanks to WeeSpring for allowing me the opportunity to try this car seat out for my kids. Things I love about it: *No need to re-thread the seatbelt. Ever get frustrated when you’re in a rush to get somewhere with your kiddos only to find out they had a sudden growth spurt and you now need to move the shoulder straps up? No need to do it with this car seat.
*Easy to adjust angles for safe positions at various stages. Once this car seat is anchored into your vehicle, just pull the “recline” tab and reposition the car seat to the appropriate angle, 1-3 for your newborn/infant, 3-5 for your toddler/preschooler, and 5-6 for kids who can sit safely in a complete upright position in booster.
My almost six year old is just barely 40 pounds so I have her at the 5 position and still using the built-in buckles vs position 6 and using the van’s seatbelt. *Quick installation into vehicle. Very fast and easy.
So fast that hubby installed it before I could put the seat protector on under it. quickly removed the seat, plopped the seat protector on and car seat was installed before we could blink another eye.
Things to consider: *Although I love the idea of placing my newborn into this seat once he is born, it’s a tough sell since we have an infant car seat “bucket seat “ that we can remove from vehicle if baby is asleep without disrupting him.
But it would be useful for those times if hubby accidentally goes to work with the infant car seat that I would be able to quickly turn this seat around to backward facing and put into a recline position.
*Cleaning the carsear cover. I haven’t had to do this for this carseat in the time I’ve had yet so not sure how difficult it would be to remove the cover and wash for those major accidents.
Got this when it was 75$ off the original price + free shipping. Researched different seats both in store and online for a few months. It’s a great car seat and It deserves 5 stars but I’m giving it a 4 because it was difficult for me to install using the latch system.
The latch straps would not pull tight enough to prevent the seat from moving more than an inch without taking the top shell off and pulling very hard. The shoulder straps on the 5 point harness also seem to become a little loose after some time and needs readjustment.
Otherwise it’s a great car seat. Purchased this for my 19 month old and using it backwards facing until she’s 40 lbs. It’s very comfortable and sturdy once installed properly and my toddler loves the cup holder which fits all of her sippy and snack cups, and and that is very high up so she can see clearly out the windows.
It’s similar to the Graco Extend for talller kids, but cheaper. I bought this to replace the Graco SnugRide 35 as my toddler is very tall for her age and her legs would scrunch up in that seat, and she’s 2 pounds under that seats limit.
My only recommendation is to purchase two of these seats or keep the old one if your toddler still fits it if you plan on using multiple cars as it’s not easy to take out the seat and switch vehicles.
Also there’s no way to get your toddler out without waking them if they fall asleep in the seat. Otherwise, I find this seat was great for the price. I had decided against the Graco DLX/4Ever because it’s about 75$ more for that seat, for just a second cup holder.
The Grows4Me is the exact same except it has 1 cup holder. It’s worth the money.
I was given this product to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I had been searching every manufacturer trying to find a convertible car seat that was safe, cost effective, and would fit comfortably in my husband’s pick up truck.
In the state that we live, children need to rear-face as long as they are within the weight and height requirements of the seat. That being said, I knew that my babe would be in a convertible seat for quite a long time.
This seat met, and exceeded all of my expectations. Firstly, the material feels high quality, and is easy to remove for cleaning (which is a serious plus with a messy toddler). I have physically touched and examined many convertible car seats in retail stores, and this seat could go toe to toe with any of the more expensive luxury brands.
The seat was very easy to install, his pickup is latch enabled, so the fact that we could install quickly and securely was one less thing to worry about. The install took about 10 minutes from the moment we opened the box to the minute we popped my kiddo in for a ride.
I tried out the recline, and I have to say, it was very easy to modify the positioning of the seat. It would be quite simple to change the settings from one child to another, which would be convenient if the caregiver does not always have children in their car.
The no-thread harness was wonderful, I feel confident knowing that no matter what height I adjust the seat to, that my child is safe and secure. I think my favorite feature, as silly as it may be, is that the cup holders are removable.
The cup holder may be the grossest part of my daughters car seat, as she tends to store all of her treasures in it. and treasures to my toddler encompasses anything from stickers to sticks! I love that with this seat I can quickly remove the cup holder to clean it and then replace it easily without much fumbling around.
The color of the seat that I received was very vibrant. All in all, I am very happy with this car seat, and feel confident that it will last for the full advertised life of the product. With its sturdy construction, I can see why Graco states that this is the only car seat you will ever have to buy! Thanks WeeSpring!.
The Graco SlimFit All-in-One Convertible Car Seat saves space in your backseat, while giving your child plenty of room to grow! The unique, rotating cup holders simply rotate away, making the seat 10% slimmer to save precious back seat space.

I brought this car seat when my daughter was 3 she is now 6. It is a great car seat and extremely comfortable. We used it rear facing at first until age 5 as she was still under height and weight limit.
I liked it rearfacing as the seatbelt did not get in the way of doing her up. It has different recline positions and the seat is so padded it feels extremely safe. Padding removable once older. For the past year and half have used it forward facing with harness at first but now on to seat belt stage.
Both were great. Harness moves with headrest so you don’t have to mess about with the straps being correct height. Seat still reclines for when child is sleeping. Most comfy seat and we’ve got 3 different ones for dad’s and nans car.
Love the cup holder and headrest too. Washable covers which is fantastic.
With 3 grandkids under the age of 4 we now have 3 of these SlimFit seats in the family. While the seats are great serving their purpose, every time we need to install one frustration soars because of a major omission in the Instruction Manual.
Specifically, the section 4-B Install Forward Facing With LATCH. Step 3 tells you where to locate and remove the Lower Anchor connectors and Tether. But there is no further mention of how you get on to Step 6 for threading the Anchor Connectors through the back of the seat to then attach them to the vehicle’s lower anchors.
HINT: YOIU NEED TO REMOVE MOST OF THE SEAT’S UPHOLSTERY TO THEN SEE A LABEL SHOWING HOW TO THREAD THE ANCHORS THOUGH THE SEAT BACK!! It’s as if the designers have never had to install their own product.
Honestly, this is about the 4th car seat that my family has been through. I have a son that is prone to carsickness, and a daughter that needed to get out of her bucket seat. This car seat is the best one that we have ever bought! My 15 month old looks 100% more comfortable riding in this one than any of the other brands.
We tried Evenflo, Safety 1st, and even other Graco’s, but this one is the best. The directions were easier to follow, installation was a breeze with the only thing that needed adjusting was the head rest and just changing the recline.
By far, the easiest car seat I have installed. Would definitely recommend in the future!.
Great for forward facing kids. Not so much for rear or newborns. It is extremely long so you need a bigger car. Even in our Traverse it was a tight fit due to not being able to adjust the height. Skip this car seat if you want it for a newborn.
The angle is too steep and the head cushion is a joke. Also, the box is false advertisement. It shows a picture of the newborn wedge to have them at a safe angle but only certain models come it and you can’t buy it separately.
So you have to pay extra for your newborn to be safe? This was verified through email from Diono and they admit to using the same box for all their seats. The angle leveler on the side is also a joke.
It’s very hard to see. Upon reading the manual some more and the website, it’s only meant to be used by Canadian users. The rear-facing adapter can’t be adjusted which is why it’s too steep for newborns.
Most cars have angled seats and the short adapter becomes useless for newborns. We tried it on our Model 3, Model Y, Traverse, and parent’s Pilot. All of them had the same issue. This was also an issue for many reviewers and certified installers.
So stay away if you’re planning to use it for a newborn. Forward facing is completely different. Narrow but comfortable.
I love this car seat. It’s durable, sleek, and stylish. I love the blue color; the grey is nice also. The material is soft, removable, and washable. the material connects by buttons instead of the tiny bands.
The latch hook system has special attachments so you don’t have to reach your hand in and clip and unclip – saves time and energy buckling the latch, and makes it not have to be permanently stuck there.
The accessories that came with this bundle were very useful. The mirror is oval in shape and has a double, perpendicular buckle on the back so it has 2x as much stability as others. The seat cover has slits in the crease on each side for the seatbelts and latch hook system.
The behind-seat organizer will be useful when we switch the car seat to face front; baby is too small for it right now. The window shade is very big. It fits my vehicle’s window, but is too long for my husband’s vehicle’s window.
I LOVE our Diono seats! I currently own 6 of them. Our favorite has to be the radians. My most favorite part of these seats are the removable, washable covers. Our carseats often get so gross from the kids snacking, so this is a fantastic perk.
I also love how easy it is to get my babies in/out of their harness straps on a daily basis. No fighting to loosen straps then unbuckling. I just unbuckle and they are ready to easily buckle back up when it is time.
These carseats are made with a steel frame so they are quite heavy. Not super easy to install and uninstall frequently. With that said the company has made it easy to travel with these seats by offering shoulder straps to easily carry backpack style.
Can easily fit 3 in a row in most vehicles. Priced competitively. Will always recommend Diono carseats!.
With the Cosco Apt 50 Convertible Car Seat, your kids will ride longer – all the way to 50 pounds. Rear-facing to 40 pounds and forward-facing to 50, the Apt 50 keeps them safer during every stage with Side Impact Protection.
There’s also six harness heights and three buckle locations for the best fit as they grow. With kids in the car, messes happen. Now, thanks to the easy-to-clean car seat pad, there’s no need to stress.
The pad comes in a wide range of styles and colors, all of which remove from the seat and are both machine washable and dryer safe. A thorough wash is just a machine cycle away. If your chosen vehicle happens to be an airplane, the Apt 50 has got you covered.
Certified for use on aircraft, it gives your child a familiar seat during the flight. The lightweight and compact design also get you through the airport without weighing you down. Two integrated cup holders make sure your copilot has plenty of room for drinks or a snack during the ride, whether on ground or up in the air.
The Apt 50 is proudly made by Cosco in Columbus, Indiana. Made by American families for American families.
I bought the be for my first granddaughter when she was a toddler, it was so comfortable for her even in long trips. And it’s light and easy to install. I bought another one for my 6 month old granddaughter and she’s very comfortable in it as well.
I gave it for stars instead of 5 because it only goes to 59 pounds and the crotch buckle could be out a little farther for bigger kids.
I was skeptical as to the price point of this item. It seems too good to be true, right? I have two children two and under and have spent A LOT of money on baby gear (these kids best take care of me when I reach old age!).
The purchase and use of this car seat was (for me) one of those rare moments as a consumer where I actually felt I got my money’s worth. Pros: great price but still passes all Federal safety standards; great looking seat with lots of color options; double cupholders (one for juice cup, one for snacks); SO lightweight; easy to install; cover is easily removable for washing but would also wipe clean for the non-hypochondriacs amongst us (that’s just not me); and its reversible (duh).
Cons: seat is wide (I have a minivan with bucket seats in the center so this isn’t an issue for me. However, if you need to put two seats across the backseat of a car, the middle seat will not be usable save maybe for a house elf.
); the weight range for this product is smaller than other seats, but after 50 lbs, most kids are going to want the booster style seat anyway or more of a “big kid” situation (for a child with specials needs, a seat with a higher weight limit might be better but at $50ish, not sure many parents with special needs kids are going to get hung up on this).
Ps – I’ve already bought two of these, and am now purchasing a third for the nanny’s vehicle (lucky her!). I am a very critical consumer but cannot say enough good things about this product.
Ensure ultimate safety when your child is riding along in the car for years to come with the Maxi-Cosi Pria Max All-In-1 Convertible Car Seat. This 3-in-1 safety seat grows with your child and is designed to adjust from rear-facing to forward-facing, to use for up to 10 years.
As your child transitions from an infant to a toddler, you’ll be able to raise the headrest and alter the protective shoulder harness. Don’t be afraid to bring sippy cups and snacks along for the ride with the 2 removable cupholders.
Designed with patented soft-to-touch foam cushions, the seat absorbs crash energy and protects your child’s head where it’s needed most. The fabric is also easy to remove, machine washable, and dryer safe for the most comfort during the journey.
Easily install this car seat into your vehicle with the 1-click latch connectors, and you’re ready to go. Enjoy road trips with your kids and feel good knowing they’re protected and comforted throughout the adventure with the Pria Max All-In-1 Convertible Car Seat from Maxi-Cosi.
Before trying out the Maxi-Cosi Pria Max All-In-One Convertible Car Seat, I had previously used the Chicco Keyfit 30 and the Graco Extend2Fit Convertible Car Seat. I was perfectly happy with both of those, but the Maxi-Cosi Pria Max All-In-One has some awesome features I didn’t even realize I was missing out on with the KeyFit and Extend2Fit seats.
The thing that most jumps out at me with this car seat is the magnetic chest clip. It nearly buckles itself. It makes getting a squirming baby safely secured much easier. The cushioning feels plush and comfy and I love how the comfort covers around the straps to protect baby’s neck are actually connected to the rest of the car seat’s fabric, rather than just wrapped around the seat belt.
By this, I mean that when you tighten or loosen the straps, you don’t have to also adjust the positioning of the cushions. They stay firmly in place. Installation was the same as any other car seat that uses a Latch system.
The only thing this car seat could do better is accommodate extended height/weight ranges to keep baby facing rear longer. This isn’t a deal breaker, but just something to keep in mind. This car seat tops out for rear facing at 40 lbs.
while the Extend2Fit can continue on to 50 pounds. Overall, I’m very happy with this car seat!.
So we currently use A Chicco car seat and we’re excited about this even more expensive brand. Out the box it was significantly lighter and I thought, oh this is nice. The material itself seemed very nice: plush, soft, but not cheap.
Then I saw lots of edges were frayed and in many areas the material wasn’t enough to cover plastic edges of the frame. I tried to look past it and was eager to use it on our next Disney trip. We usually time the drive so the girls will nap on the way.
We decided we would let out almost two year old use it. It never happened. First, It was very difficult to get the latch On right. Once we finally got it to where we were semi comfortable we put her in it.
Then my husband asked why I changed the positron to 2. I told him I didn’t change it. We wanted her in the most leaned back position so she could sleep without her neck falling over. Eventually we figured that it was still in setting 3, but once baby was sat in it the weight distribution was such that it moved to a different position.
It took us a long waste of time to come to this conclusion that we didn’t feel comfortable having her strapped into this for a nap, much less a drive. When we got our current car seat we immediately felt safe putting our daughter in it.
So much that we own another for our second. It just felt flimsy. Would not recommend based on our experience. If it crunches to a whole different position just in securing it and putting baby in it, I cannot trust it in an unforeseen accident.
We received one Maxi-Cosi Pria Max All-In-One Convertible Car Seat as part of a promotion, and purchased a second one for our other twin. We were in the market for new car seats as our twins neared outgrowing the 40-pound capacity of the convertible car seats they were using.
The Pria Max All-In-One was already on our short list. Once the promotional one arrived, we knew it was the right decision to invest in the same car seat for our other twin. To be thorough, I removed the cloth as one would to launder it, and found it very easy to remove and replace.
The seat is heavy, so I expect it will be quite durable. The soft cushioning looks very comfortable. The twins enjoyed lounging in the seats indoors before we installed them in the car, so they found them comfy.
It was exceptionally simple to adjust the shoulder straps to the appropriate height. Installation had about the same difficulty level as similar convertible car seats. We are very pleased to have seats that will work for our twins until they outgrow booster seats.
The mother of all car seats Built like a tank. Made with patented energy-absorbing crumple technology. The Foonf convertible car seat provides the utmost protection for your child. It’s easy to install, with a forward-facing rigid-LATCH installation that’s so secure, you’d swear the seat becomes one with your vehicle.
It’s one of the best-rated convertible car seats available, and has the durability to be passed from one child to another. Rear-Facing Mode Height :25–43 in. Weight :14–50 lb. Forward-Facing Mode Height:30–49 in.
Weight:22–65 lb. Minimum Age: 2+ years. Dimensions: 17″ W x 28″ H x 17. 5″ L.
Several years ago when I purchased my first convertable carseat, I agonized between in my decision between this and the Nuna Rava. I wanted the top of the line, safest car seat that would let my little ones rear-face up to 50lbs.
Foonf seemed to be the *best* when it came to safety, with Nuna a close second. Years ago, I chose Nuna because the reviews claimed easy set-up–and they were right. I now have 2 Nunas that take about 5 min to go from the box to installation.
Ease of set-up and installation is important: every step along the way is an opportunity for the user to get something wrong that could compromise safety. Fast foward a few years and we now think we’ll need to fit 3 car seats across and my understanding is Clek fits 3 acrpss better than Nuna and, to be honest, was excited to get the safest “tank” out there.
After installation and one week of use, I’m now deeply regretting the decision. The Foonf has a multi-step set-up process that requires too many tools, disassembling and reassembling, and too many opportunities for user error.
It took me over an hour to get it from the box to the carseat and I was second guessing myself every step of the way (and this from someone who loves setting up Ikea furniture). After all of those steps, I just don’t feel confident it is installed safely.
Of particular frustration–one side of the hedrest doesn’t lock in place and the seat belt lock-offs were extremely difficult to close and I’m not confident they are fully locked. I am absolutely dreading having to remove and reinstall the carseat when I need to clean it or adjust the harness.
I have had this installed for 5 days and on a day-to-day basis, it takes me way too long to get my toddler out of the car seat. The release button to loosen the harness is hard to locate and difficult to reach.
Every time I use it, I still have to try several times to find the release button and dhave to basically climb onto my toddler to get my finger in there far enough to release it. Finally, my toddler doesn’t like it.
On the plus side, she seems to have more leg room–the sides are low so she can swing her legs over the sides to stretch them. But, she complains every time that she is uncomfortable–and that’s on a 10 min drive to school.
I can’t imagine how she’ll feel when we drive for an hour or more. I agree saftey is the number one priority, but it doesn’t have to be a tradeoff between safety and comfort (as Nuna has proven). So disappointed in my experience with this “top of the line” car seat and wish I could return it.
I certainly wouldn’t recommend it and can’t imagine buying another.
Anyone with children knows the importance of being able to easily clean a car seat. This one is seemingly impossible. While the Crypton fabric is wipable for things like sippy cup or snack spills, but when it comes to ***** this carseat is a nightmare to try to clean.
***** easily gets between seams and creases in fabric and soaks the cover as well as the foam pad underneath. You can take teh fabric off of the seat cover but to remove fabric from the rest of teh carseat, you have to completely dissemble it.
I mean using a screwdriver to take apart teh frame and remove the fabric. I’ve had to remove car seat covers dozens of times from other seats to clean up ***** and its easy peasy. Its a joke what a nightmare it is to try to dissemble and reassemble this car seat just to get it clean.
A completely non-parent friendly design. I can’t recommend this car seat to anyone.
This car seat has some really cool features. It sits my children up higher to see out the window, is easy to install the base, and is solidly built. However, I would never recommend a friend to buy this seat for a few reasons: 1.
First and foremost, it is nearly impossible to clean. My child had a loose stool that seeped into the cracks requiring the fabric to be removed – this meant we had to use a screw driver to unscrew the sides of the car seat and take it entirely apart in order to get the fabric off to wash/was the plastic below where stool had seeped through.
(This process took my husband almost an hour while I watched our children – it would have been impossible solo with the kids awake). I discussed this with customer service to offer my feedback and was met with a complete lack of compassion and understanding.
There are so many safe (and even safer) car seats out there that have faced the challenge of cleaning their products by making zip off and latch off fabric covers. Kids make messes. Cleaning them up shouldn’t be near impossible.
2. Most other car seats have improved the ease of adjusting the shoulder straps, this carseat requires you to uninstall, when forward facing, use a little lock to remove the back and rethread the straps.
All in all this is a very expensive car seat that looks cool, has some great features, but is absolutely not worth the cost. The customer service is also awful.
Soft-to-touch cushions and premium fabrics and padding throughout provide supreme comfort for your child during the journey. The Pria Sport 2-in-1 Convertible Car Seat fabrics are designed to keep your little one comfortable, all while offering a smooth ride from 14-65 pounds.
Superior Side Impact Protection The Pria Sport fits children rear-facing starting at 14 pounds and keeps them cozy up to 40 pounds. When they’re ready to ride forward-facing, turn this car seat around to safely fit children up to 65 pounds.
Convenient Harness Holders It’s easy to get your child in and out of the Pria Sport thanks to harness holders that keep the straps out of the way. Machine Washable Fabrics Keeping the Pria Sport clean is simple.
The seat pad unsnaps and removes easily over the frame, and can go right into the washer and dryer. Also, there’s no need to remove the seat from the car or to make complicated maneuvers with the harness straps.
All this allows you to get a thorough clean not available in other car seats. More Room for Passengers The Pria Sport is also specially designed to fit better in your car, allowing more room for your passengers to stretch out in the front seats.
Dorel Juvenile Group Pria Sport 2-in-1 Convertible Car Seat is the most comfortable and efficient car seat I have owned. I love the fact that this car seat is convertible and not having to worry about getting an additional booster seat when my baby grows out of the rear facing phase.
The maximum weight of 65 pounds on the forward facing is very assuring and promising for long lasting. The fabrics are removable and washable by machines. The cup is also removable and dishwasher friendly.
My child loves the extra padding and premium fabrics for comfortable riding. One of the unique features about this car seat is adjustable headrest. I have not seen the feature on any other car seat before.
The headrest can be easily adjusted by one hand. It saves time and hassles. I also love that the car seat has harness holders to keep the straps out of the way. It is a life-saver as it helps me get my child in and out easily and quickly.
One thing I wish this car seat had would be a magnetic buckle instead of traditional one. I own a car seat that has a magnetic buckle and it makes my life easier. Overall, I am satisfied with the car seat and I am excited to see my child grows with the car seat.
The Dorel Juvenile Group Pria Sport 2 in 1 Convertible Car Seat is most definitely my favorite yet! I was completely shocked when I first got this car seat , the amount of padding it has is outstanding! It gives us as parents that reassurance that they will be very well safe if an accident occurred! It’s made with premium fabrics that make it very comfortable for your littles! The headrest is adjustable as well !! My son absolutely loves it ! I love that when he falls asleep it can be reclined and I don’t have to worry about his little head bobbing around ! He sleeps like a champ with all the padding ! So there’s no doubt that this is by far the most comfortable I’ve came across yet ! And we have tried alot of different carseats! I also love that the belt covers are removable and the fabrics are super easy to remove and put back on , as well as they are machine washable and dryer safe !! The cupholder is also removable and it’s dishwasher safe and it just pops right back in place ! The harness holders keep the straps from getting in the way so it’s super easy to get in and out !! The 1 click latch connectors make installation extremely easy !! There’s so much about this carseat I could go on and on for days ! I am very well pleased with this one and i would highly recommend it before I would any other carseat!! I feel this one is most comfortable but the safest as well!! Definitely worth every single penny !! If you are trying to find the perfect carseat for your littles and your tired of getting ones that are very complicated or just not safe , this is your answer !! You will not be disappointed and your littles will love how comfortable and secure they are in this one !!.
The Cosco Scenera NEXT is simply a smarter car seat designed for families who know what they need. It can be used in the rear-facing position from 5-40 pounds or forward-facing from 22-40 pounds. (Actual fit may vary.
Not all children will comfortably fit in the seat for the full weight and height ranges listed). The Scenera NEXT keeps kids safer with Side Impact Protection built right in, and a 5-point harness that adjusts easily from the front of the seat.
The harness features 5 heights and 3 buckle locations so you can be sure youre giving the best fit to your growing child. And to fit your growing family (or the neighborhood car pool), the Scenera NEXT easily fits three across in the back seat.
If your chosen vehicle happens to be an airplane, the Scenera NEXT has got you covered. Certified for use on aircraft, it gives your child a familiar seat during the flight. The lightweight and compact design also get you through the airport without weighing you down.
With kids in the car, messes happen. Now, thanks to the easy-to-clean car seat pad, theres no need to stress. The pad comes in a wide range of styles and colors, all of which remove from the seat and are both machine washable and dryer safe.
Theres also no more scrubbing goopy build-up from inside the cup holder; its dishwasher safe. For both seat pad and cup holder, a thorough wash is just a machine cycle away. The Scenera NEXT is proudly made by Cosco in Columbus, Indiana.
Made by American families for American families. For more than 70 years, Cosco has been a leading childrens products brand recognized for its dedication to safety and value. From bouncers to car seats, swings to strollers and high chairs to play yards, Cosco’s essential baby products feature solid value and smart design.
The padding is thin and non-existent. The placement of the airplane belt buckle is very uncomfortable as it rests in the bottom of seat making it unbearable for my little one. Hence, it is not ideal for airline travel.
Plus, it is not compatible with the basic car seat strollers. Yes, it is light, but the benefits end there.
It served it’s purpose. Used this seat in my truck where my daughter only rode occasionally. It isn’t well padded and I added foam between the plastic seat and seat cover (much improved). The cupholder fell off constantly until I screwed it on.
For the price, it was okay. Given another chance, I’d probably spend a little more on a seat that she could use longer. That said, no regurts. It served it’s purpose.
This car seat is simple but extremely nice. My daughter hated her infant carrier seat even though she is still tiny and fit perfectly in it. I always had to fight her to get her in her seat. Since I got this seat I cant seem to get her into it fast enough.
Seriously, as soon as I open the car door she tries to leap out of my arms and into the seat. I was actually able to purchase this car seat as a bundle package which was awesome because I needed 2 seats.
Some people complain that its too simple. It may not have all the bells and whistles other car seats have but I feel confident that my child is safe and that is what really matters. The only problem I had with this seat was when installing I had to take the fabric off the front of the seat to assure the latch strap was tightened correctly, which is fine but it was really hard to get the fabric back on because the seat was so snugly tight against the actual cars seat.
i managed to do it but it was hard. My husband was happy I chose a red and black one for his car lol.
Get the car seat that’s built to grow! From your first ride together coming home from the hospital to soccer day car pools, the 3-in-1 Grow and Go Car Seat will give your child a safer and more comfortable ride.
Featuring extended use at each stage, this convertible car seat is designed to last through all your firsts with your child. For newborns to growing toddlers, the Grow and Go can be used in the rear-facing position from 5-40 pounds.
It includes two comfortable grow-with-baby pillows to give your new travel companion a snug fit, and they easily remove as your baby outgrows them. In forward-facing mode, the Grow and Go keeps your child protected in a harness up to 65 pounds.
In both rear-facing and forward-facing mode, harness holders keep the harness in an open position. This makes it easier for you to get your child in and out of the car seat. No more fishing for the harness and clips from behind your child – they’re right there when you need them.
The QuickFit Harness offers additional convenience in both of these stages by letting you adjust the height of both the headrest and harness in one easy step, making it simple to give your growing child the best fit.
When your child is ready to use the vehicle seat belts, remove the harness to use the Grow and Go 3-in-1 Car Seat in belt-positioning booster mode: up to 100 pounds. The headrest still adjusts easily, letting you get the best fit for your child.
As your tiny baby grows into a big kid, messes are bound to happen, but the Grow and Go car seat pad makes cleanup easy. Machine washable and dryer safe, it is also designed to come off the seat easily, with no need to remove the harness.
The Grow and Go is designed to provide more comfort to parents too. It takes up less room when placed rear-facing, giving up to 7 inches more leg room for parents in the front seat.
The Safety 1st Grow and Go All-in-One Convertible Car Seat is a great looking and light weight car seat that was fairly easy to install. I love the darker neutral colors and the generous padding options for comfort and support which can be removed as needed as your child grows.
I like that this car seat is noticeably lighter than other convertible options for easy transfer and install. We used the latch system and install was quick and overall easy however it is difficult to sufficiently tighten the strap once latched in (I found looping it back under the seat and pulling from the opposite side worked best for this aspect).
The features I like most about this car seat are its very high safety ratings, versatility, dark colors, double, removable cupholders, and the strap holders to each side are game changing! However, I did not like some of the adjustments of the seat to get a good, supportive fit.
My son is 10 months old and is approved for the level “2” recline position however, following the instruction booklet I trialed the chest straps in both the lower and upper positions to determine the best and safest fit.
While switching strap positions isn’t too difficult, the splitter you hook them into doesn’t appear to be the most secure. The thing I liked least is tightening the straps in any position. The thick stitching on the straps seems to easily catch in the opening when loosening and tightening and it is frustrating to spend extra time to sufficiently secure your child, especially when they are fussy or fidgeting.
Once in and secured, my child appeared comfortable and supported. We have a Toyota 4Runner and this seat fits well without taking up much space from the seat in front of it. I look forward to using this seat with my child as he grows and love that it will likely be the only seat he’ll need.
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this seat to test and review!.
I was given this convertible car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I also currently own 2 of an older version of this same seat (3 years and counting, currently still in use).
I really like that it can grow with my child- it reduces the $ you have to spend over time, it reduces waste/clutter of extra car seats being around, and also bridges the awkward gap between an infant ‘bucket’ seat and a standard car seat.
My kids (2 and 5 yo) both found this seat to be comfortable- the extra padding on the upper buckles and the bottom harness point reduced any pinch points for them. The head rest portion is robust and keeps them nicely confined without being uncomfortable.
The cup holders are indispensable for keeping snacks and activities contained. My favorite feature of this car seat is how easy it is to adjust the upper strap height- you pull the levers and push it up or down super easily, you can even do it with the kid in the seat.
The seat covers are also really easy to take on and off (without removing the seat) and wash really well over time. My largest complaint about this seat is that tightening the straps over time becomes really hard.
The interaction between the belt and the belt path starts to become not ‘smooth acting’ and you have to use a great deal of force to get it tight. Additionally, there is a seat setting at which one of the anchor buckles on the bottom hits a curved part of the seat and it is nearly impossible to tighten the seat without physically using one hand to guide the belt in the back and the other to tighten it down in the front- which is fine if the car seat is rear facing, but when it is forward facing you can’t get your hand behind the seat to ‘help’ it.
As mentioned, we have had 2 of this seat for over 3 years- and it has happened to both seats. The updates in the newer version of this seat are mostly an improved manual and easier to read/understand installation instructions- very much appreciated!.
I have 4 of these seats. Two for my Honda Odyssey and 2 for my husband’s Chevy dulmax. They are absolutely amazing. I love the fact that it is a one and done car seat. I also love the fact that I can keep the car seats latched in the car while I wash the cover.
It’s so easy to take off and wash and easy to reinstall all while the car seat stays in the van! The cup holders are harder to take out then I like, but I just while them down with a Cloris wipe and they are clean.
I had my premie son in his safety 1st from the day he came home from the hospital weighing at 5lbs and 14 Oz. He was soo tiny and the pillows for infant phase were perfect for him. I have never had an issue with thr straps not tightening on either 4 of my seats.
Both my boys are now forward facing but it’s easy to adjust the straps and loosen and tighten when needed. I absolutely love this sear and highly recommended it. However it does rattle when the kids are not in the seats, I haven’t been able to figure out how to make it stop.
But usually my music is loud enough for me to drown it out when they are not in the seat.
The Britax Boulevard ClickTight Convertible Car Seat is an exceptional choice for getting your family where they need to go. With the revolutionary ClickTight installation system, now everyone can install the car seat securely and confidently by just buckling the seat belt.
Safeguards your child with an extra layer of side impact protection, impact-absorbing base and steel frame. Accommodates rear facing 5-40 lbs and and front facing 20-65 lbs.
I received this carseat in exchange for an honest review from Stellar Product Testing Panel. This seat is sturdy and seems like a quality, safe, car seat. It our first Britax product and if this seat had a cup holder, I would purchase.
Pros: 1. ClickTight system. I (apparently) have been strapping my children into their car seats way too tight. The audible click when the harness is appropriately tight is a wonderful feature. I’m sure my daughter appreciates this! It is very nice that the seat locks into place on top of the seatbelt and is very secure.
Definitely more secure than just using a seatbelt or LATCH anchors. 2. Very soft material 3. Extra padding The car seat that this has replaced (NOT Britax) digs into my daughter’s belly at the harness buckle.
We installed an aftermarket pad toward a barrier between, but it did next to nothing. This Britax Boulevard seat, however, has diligently solved that problem. There is a nearly 1/2″ thick and soft pad that is positioned behind the buckle.
WONDERFUL! The shoulder pads (labled as high-impact absorbing) are a nice quality as well. They are recommended for use with forward facing seats, optional for smaller children that are still rear facing.
4. I love that it does not contain added flame-retardant chemicals. 5. The seat itself looks nice. It appears comfortable. My daughter says it’s more comfortable than her last seat, but that brings me to the cons.
Cons: 1. NO CUP HOLDER We have become accustomed to this feature on our last seat and may honestly be a deal breaker. It did not take me very long to get tired of fetching a sippy cup or snacks. 2. Leg room My daughter can’t sit with her feet in the seat.
She likes the option to do that if she’s going to be in it for a while. I wish this came with some sort of leg extention/support. 3. Support padding Our last seat had a lot of support/impact padding.
This seat does not. There is only one thin pad between the structure and the child in both the back and bottom of the seat. My daughter says its comfy, but on a long car ride, I cannot imagine that sitting directly on a steel frame can feel great.
(Our last seat had a plastic shell surrounding the seat- this does not. ) It does, however have a deeper, more streamlined head support. Overall, my two favorite features on this seat are the serious crotch buckle padding and the deep head support/protection.
The head support part (the part that adjusts the shoulder straps) is in a deep U shape. It is narrow and looks like it will prevent head drooping when the rare car seat nap happens. (It has not happened yet, so I am purely speculating) It looks like it would make a good headrest for a sleeping little person.
We live in Florida and I do wish we would have had the opportunity to test a cool flow version of this seat. That seems like a fantastic option.
I recently received my Britax Boulevard ClickTight Convertible Car Seat in Contour Gray from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We installed the seat for my 2 year old who was ready for a forward facing seat.
When deciding to change her to forward facing, the first thing we thought about was her safety! As you would for any product, we checked for the safety ratings, and they were superior ratings. As we installed the seat, we already knew based on the weight and the install methods, we felt secure about what we had read.
The seat has a bottom section that lifts to allow the seat belt to run through and under the seat section, which made it so secure it wouldn’t even move when we tried and that was before we also anchored it into the back of the seat.
The mechanic for the opening of this section requires a twist of a lock, which a child would never be able to do, so it would be nearly impossible for it to ever open up without an adult needing to do so.
The instructions that come with it give you different options for what you can use to install the seat so you should definitely read it prior and know which method you are using! We had not done this and it took longer than it needed, but whenever we have to move the seat in the future, we will be able to do it in a few minutes.
The fabric of the seat shout high quality! They are soft and durable but most importantly, washable! Since we have a toddler who now loves to snack on the go…washable is key! The insert of the seat is called contour gray.
It is a lighter gray than our previous seat and I’m excited that it will not show every single spill as our darker car seat previously had. The seat is missing one important feature if you have an independent little one like I do…cup holders! I have since looked and you can add accessory cupholders.
The seat width is comfortable for a child, and it is more streamlined than seats that have built in cupholders. If you have a smaller vehicle or multiple seats, this is probably a plus! You will not have to spare safety and comfort for a smaller width seat.
Another plus for security is the flame-retardant fabric! Overall this has been a great addition to the needs of our family…the clicktight seat belt feature is by far our favorite! Car seats are all about safety and this has that plus a great look and feel!.
I seriously love this thing. First off, it *is* bulky but for great reasons. I looked into the technology/safety testing and this car seat is one of the safest on the markets which is so important to me.
I love that you can use it from 5 lbs +, it doesn’t seem like it would accommodate a baby that small but it totally does and can be used for years after as it is convertible. The fabrics on this are both easy to clean, washable, and also cushy feeling and comfy for baby.
It’s also not treated with flame retardant chemicals which I appreciate as it’s hard to find car seats that are less chemically toxic. I like that it included the optional anchor for added safety. The level bar is great as well for easy visual confirmation of correct positioning.
I looooove that it can be used both back/forward facing to get you through that transition. Even with all of the features, it still manages to look sleek and modern. The click tight system (my favorite part!) makes it so easy to install and it saves you the pain of having to manually tighten it with the seat belt.
I’ve moved this to and from different cars several times! And despite its bigger size, I was able to install it in a sedan without any issue at all. The only potential negative about this car seat that I can foresee as I haven’t had experience with this yet would be traveling with it by plane as it is bulky and heavy.
I’m sure it can be done but I’d be a little intimidated trying to go through the airport processes with this type of car seat. But that is a very small and workable con for how overall amazing this car seat it.
It really gives me peace of mind knowing my baby is protected by some of the best safety technologies on the market and that it will continue to grow with him for years to come. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this convertible car seat.
With two modes of use, this LATCH-equipped Cosco car seat accommodates infants from 5 pounds up to toddlers weighing 40 pounds in rear-facing mode and kids up to 40 pounds in forward-facing mode. The five-point harness adjusts easily from the front of the seat and features six heights and three buckle locations.
In both the rear-facing and forward-facing modes, built-in side-impact protection keeps your little one extra secure. Easily remove the machine-washable and dryer-safe car seat pad to clean. Perfect for travel, the seat is certified for use on aircraft and gives your child a familiar seat during a flight.
I have purchased 2 of these now! Very light and small. Easy to install. I bought one for each grandparents house. They are a good price point, starting at 90$. Does the job well, but not alot of padding and extra.
My daughter prefers her big graco as do I for the safety! Great for a back up or a grandparent carseat!.
We had this car seat in the Minnie Mouse print. I really wish it came with a base bc I didn’t feel 100% safe with it but we bought it bc my daughter was too long for her infant seat. She used this car seat for almost two years.
I did like that it was convertible so she could use it longer. Maybe an additional strap will help with security to connect it to the car.
This is okay. It is about what you would expect for a cheap seat. I bought two of them for my mother in law to have in her car when she keeps my kids. They are not very well cushioned. I prefer the Cosco Mightyfit 65s.
A new life is full of firsts. From every moment to every mile they have yet to travel. EXEC gives them their first chance at experiencing first class. Beautifully designed with premium offerings like a multi-functioning adjustable leg rest, Merino wool insert and of course, no added fire retardant chemicals.
From rear-facing to forward-facing to booster, it’s simple to install and converts just as easily. From fabric to foam and beyond, each element is smartly sourced to be both flame r.
We love this car seat. We bought the Nuna Pipa Lite and stroller set when we had our son 15 months ago and loved it. We needed to find a convertible car seat and decided to check out Nuna again. Yes, Nuna is slightly more on the expensive side, but if you’re looking for quality, then the price is definitely unmatched by other brands.
We looked into the Maxi Cosa brand, too, but read the reviews and a lot of them stated how poor the material stood up over time. We’re glad we bit the bullet and paid a little extra to ensure we would be able to have a car seat for our son for years to come.
Our son loves riding in this car seat; he falls asleep in it nearly every time we go for a drive. Since he is still rear facing, I am sure he will eventually love the fold out recliner thingy for his legs.
The side cup holders are nice for him to access drinks and snacks. The only drawback I would say about this car seat is that there isn’t much ventilation. My son puts out a lot of body heat and when the heat of the summer really kicks in, I’ll have to make sure I get the a/c running ahead of time.
Just something to consider. Otherwise, bite the bullet with me and get this car seat! It’s nearly perfect!.
I ordered this a month ago. Bloomingdales feigns online as if it is the only site to have this seat in Caviar actually in stock. As it said then and continues to say now, expected to ship 7 days from order.
Excited, I purchased it from them. I then later had to check on the order status to learn that it is “backordered — expected to ship Oct. 20. ” Why can’t you just advertise that instead of people detrimentally relying on you? I paid $700 and am worried that it is no longer safe to drive with my baby as she has grown over the course of a month, and still no replacement for her infant car seat.
I checked the site, and sure enough, Bloomingdales is still pretending it’s in stock. But they are aware at this very moment, that it’s backordered! Then I remembered my last purchase from Bloomingdales in Dec.
2019. I spent $123 on a gorgeous 8 x 10 frame to frame a wedding family photo, per my mom’s request for a Christmas gift. Bloomingdales sent me a 4 x 6. which continues to sit on my mom’s mantle. After a disappointing moment on Christmas morning, I returned from out of state, had a rough pregnancy, and never had the time to straighten out their mistake.
So far so good! Stressed over this purchase for months! Transitioned from UppaBaby Mesa which I loved. Baby just turned 1 year and is still riding rear facing, installation was pretty straightforward especially with all of the instructional videos available.
Baby seems to love it so far, it has been a seamless transition. She seems very comfortable and safe. She is on the taller side and outgrew Mesa earlier than expected, and now she seems so comfortable.
My only hangup is the cupholders but I think it may be user error, it seems I cannot put them back in without feeling like I’m going to break it. I just resolved to keep them open bc I think it has to be that way when the car seat is installed as the belt passes through there, but even before installation I couldn’t get them to close.
Not a big deal and still very happy with my purchase.
Extended rear facing is the safest position for young children to be in while riding in a car. This is because it allows them to be better protected in the event of a crash. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that all children remain in a rear-facing car seat until they are at least 2 years old.
However, some parents choose to keep their children in a rear-facing seat for even longer. There are a few different types of car seats that are designed for extended rear facing, such as the Graco Extend2Fit and the Diono Rainier.
These seats typically have higher weight limits and taller height limits than standard rear-facing seats, making them ideal for older children.
The main benefit of extended rear facing is that it provides better protection for the child’s head, neck, and spine in the event of a crash. When a child is rear-facing, the force of a crash is distributed evenly across the back of the seat, rather than concentrated on the neck and head.
This can help to prevent serious injuries, such as skull fractures and spinal cord damage. Additionally, extended rear facing car seats tend to have higher weight and height limits than standard seats, so they can accommodate older children.
There are a few things to keep in mind if you’re considering extended rear facing for your child. First, you’ll need to make sure that your car has enough space to accommodate the larger seat. Second, you’ll need to make sure that your child is comfortable in the seat.
Some children may not like being rear-facing for long periods of time, so it’s important to make sure that they’re comfortable before making the switch. Finally, you’ll need to make sure that you’re using the seat correctly.
Extended rear facing car seats come with specific instructions, so be sure to read the manual carefully before using the seat.
Overall, extended rear facing is the safest position for young children to ride in a car. It provides better protection in the event of a crash and can accommodate older children. If you’re considering extended rear facing for your child, be sure to keep the above tips in mind.
