Some camping chairs for tall people also have a footrest to help them reach the ground.

These chairs are sturdy and very nice quality. Compared to other chairs the metal frame is thicker and I’m guessing going to be more durable and hopefully will last a long time. My husband is 200ish pounds and he sat comfortably and was happy with the quality.
I was at a very windy campsite and these stayed put. Highly recommend for any heavyset body types or for anyone looking for a durable high quality chair. I wish they came in more colors but the blue is fine.

I was super excited about this chair and was somewhat disappointed to be honest. The chair is very heavy duty and supports me well, im 360lb. The chair is honestly not that comfortable. The back for the chair doesn’t go up the back far enough, I’m 6’1″.
The chair digs into the back of my thighs when sitting. The overall sitting position in the chair feels off. Overall for me, this is not my favorite chair.
Whether you’re sipping drinks in the backyard or toasting marshmallows fireside, the Big Tall Chair will give you the height you need at any outdoor gathering. Padded arm rests and a flip down foot rest bring extra comfort to this easily transported chair that will be the most coveted seat at your next get-together.
Sturdy well made chair with a 23″ seat height. Works great for me and I’m 6’4″. My knees say thank you. The chair is very easy to set up. It’s way too heavy for backpacking, but works great for truck camping.
With packed dimensions of 4? x 14? and a weight of just 1. 1 pound, the award-winning Chair Zero is a truly ackpackablepiece of furniture. To achieve its lightweight, compact design, the chair utilizes folding shock-corded DAC aluminum poles and ultra-lightweight, high-tenacity fabrics.
In use, the chair’s full dimensions are 20. 5′ wide by 19′ deep by 25. 5′ high. The seat itself sits 11′ off of the ground. Despite the lightweight construction, the chair can support up to 265 pounds.
The Chair Zero is available in your choice of color options. A storage sack with a drawstring closure.
You’ll find a lot of fan-boy-ish sounding reviews on Helinox’s site, but there’s a reason for it: their products are fantastic. After a very uncomfortable series of days on beaches while my family splashed around in various bodies of water this summer, I did a lot of research looking for light-weight, easily-packable chairs and ended up picking up the Chair One as a compromise between size, weight, price, and expected longevity (the fact they offer a five year warranty is pretty telling, in a market where you’re lucky to get one).
The fact that Helinox chairs can be converted into rocking chairs was also a big reason I tired Helinox instead of some other brand (I ordered the rocking attachments alongside the chair). I set up the chair, sat in it at home, and have since been using it every chance I get (need another seat in the living room? I’ll go grab my Chair One! Going to the lake? Chair One! Off for a last hurrah at my family’s property near a beach but without any real amenities? Chair One!).
Here’s the good and the “I can live with it” (there’s no real bad): I am 6′ 2″ and a complete beanpole (145lbs on a good day). This makes it very difficult for me to find furniture that is comfortable, but the Chair One somehow manages.
When sitting in it, the back of the chair comes up to just above the bottom of my shoulder blades (no cutting into my should blades! Which of course protrude). It sits a little low compared to less-portable chairs, but my knees aren’t up around my chin, either.
It’s a nice interim height for me, honestly, and doesn’t feel awkward to get in or out of (but I’m also still in my 30s; might age out of it). The fabric doesn’t cut into my legs, but it *does* cut into my arms a little if I stick them out over the sides of the chair.
I suspect this is a “me” problem, though; I can tuck them inside the fabric right up against my body if I’m feeling chilly, and I suspect if I had a few extra pounds and were a little wider, it would be a non-issue because the sides of the chair would more or less conform to my sides.
The back support is surprisingly good for such a simple chair; I can sit it in for long periods at a time without discomfort. Assembling the chair takes a little bit of strength, but I expect this to get easier over time as the fabric relaxes a bit, and it’s still ridiculously fast to setup and teardown.
This is an “I can live with it” aspect to the chair, because it stores so perfectly in the included bag that I just don’t care. The rockers are a mixed bag. On the plus side, if you’re on even ground (or inside) they’re wonderful.
Easy to rock, and I never feel like I’m going to fall over backwards. The one downside is that with my length of leg, I tend to not have a lot of rocking available, because the chair rolls pretty far back when I sit down.
They also prevent the chair’s legs from sinking into less-even ground (although I haven’t tried the chair on sand, so I don’t know how much that will matter). However, the trouble when using the rockers on something like uneven grass is that they aren’t connected to one another in any way.
So as you rock back, if one rocker hits a clump of dirt or rock or something, it will stop moving while its partner continues, causing the whole chair to flex. I don’t think this is causing any damage or anything, but it’s not a very comfortable rocking experience.
The real downside to the rockers is that they’re so much longer than the chair’s packed length, that you have to keep them in a separate bag (which is very easy to misplace). I’ve been stuffing it into the chair’s bag, which I then hang on the front of the chair frame to keep it out of the way, which is fine when the chair is setup, but they’re still a pain to wrangle when carrying it around.
I’m on the fence about whether I should acquire rockers for my future Helinox chair purchases. Which leads me to probably the biggest endorsement for the Helinox Chair One: after using Chair One for just a few short weeks, I’m already entirely happy to throw a few hundred more dollars Helinox’s way because I’m so happy with Chair One.
I want the Vibram ball feet as an alternative to the rockers (if I’m lucky, they’ll fit in the original chair bag, and should work a lot better on uneven ground). I want one of the high backed chairs “for my wife” (I’ll totally be stealing it), since the one real downside of Chair One is that you can’t really lean back and relax in it (it’s comfortable, but better for actively rocking or similar; certainly can’t nap in it).
I’m eyeing their tables, their camping cots (even though I basically never go camping–but hey, guests could use it!), their sunshade, you name it. Chair One likely isn’t for everyone, but if you have a need for a comfortable, light-weight and easy to pack, versatile chair I really don’t think you can do better.
Just watch out: it may be the gateway drug to an entire fleet of stupidly comfortable and well-made “camp” furniture. It really is that good.
First off let me just say that a lot of review sites will immediately discredit this chair for backpacking. You can absolutely take this chair backpacking. However, although it is 2 lbs heavier than the Chair One it does take up significantly more room than the chair one when it comes to space.
Be sure to expect to carry this on the outside of the backpack and not the inside of it for most cases. The picture online is significantly disproportionately to it’s overall diameter/width in comparison to the chair one.
Also for weight comparisons all chair one knock offs are heavier than this chair. That being said the only downside to this entire chair is that it is not a replacement for a good car camping chair. The arm rests aren’t that significantly beneficial here.
They work best when you have your arms enclosed for reading or something like that. This chair is really designed for when you have to walk or travel a long distance and you want to carry a chair with you.
The weight savings between this chair vs a car camping chair are anywhere from 8 to 10 lbs. That being said this chair is great. I often have to backpack to fishing spots and this chair works beautifully for that purpose.
You can cast a rod much easier with this chair not having arms, and on top of that I’m able to fit this chair in places other chairs wouldn’t work (like on a rocky shore). The only other downside to this chair is that you must, and I mean MUST, buy the chair anchor, 55mm ball feet, and shoulder strap for it.
Those are separate expenses you must add to the purchase of the chair and it’s a shame that they don’t come with a purchase of the chair itself since they are necessary for it to function properly. The upside is the Savanna chair case can fit these accessories inside it, unlike the chair one.
Also note that the ball feet and chair anchor add an extra 8 ounces to the weight making it closer to five pounds in the bag, but compared to other knock offs to the chair one it still comes 2 lbs lighter than the leading competitor with all the bells and whistles this chair comes with.
This chair goes fantastic with any camping pillow. I especially love it with the Thermarest compressible pillow I use when backpacking. It is also incredibly durable for what it is, however I recommend you clean the ball feet before putting them back in your bag with the rest of the chair to prevent mold and the like.
The cup holders are an excellent touch which you have no idea how beneficial they are on a camping trip until you don’t have them. All in all I’d give this chair a 4 out of 5, really only because they don’t provide the accessories this chair absolutely needs in order to function and force you to buy them separately.
It is small but that’s what I expected. Certainly lightweight for packing, whether on foot or motorized. I’m average size and build for a woman and fit into the chair without feeling squeezed. My arms even rest slightly on the side.
The swivel base seems stiff until you sit in it, a clever function as it stays in place while you sit down. The seat is more level than for many other chairs, which I like because it is easy to stretch out the legs or put them on a little footrest.
However, that can be a downside, because twice I tipped over while leaning forward. Fortunately the chair is low, and also I know how to prevent it now with proper movement. I also plan to get the fitted ground sheet, which should stabilize it.
When I sit, the whole frame back and bottom itself has a slight give which allows for a bit of movement, almost like a rocker although one should be careful not to exert too much pressure to prevent damage.
Now that I’m used to it, the chair feels pleasantly flexible without the instability. The back is surprisingly comfortable given that it’s low. For my size and build. I have enough support at the shoulder blades, although it may be different for a taller person.
I do have several Helinox chairs and they are all great for lower back support. Quality is excellent and they look well made and stylish. I use them on my patio too, making the relatively high cost well worth it for versality and, I expect, decades of use.

The High Back Folding Heavy Duty Portable Camping Chair with Padded Arms, Cup Holder, Storage Pouch and Extra Wide Carry Bag, Blue/Gray chair is so comfortable. It had great support and is very sturdy! I love the quality of this chair as well.
I love that it has a cup holder for your beverage and little pouches to hold your phone, book, etc. The material of this chair seems strong and well made. I find this chair to be super nice! Definitely recommend.
Relax in comfort in the backyard, at the beach, or around the campfire with the Big Agnes Big Six Camp Chair. By utilizing collapsible pole technology, the chair is lighter and more compact than traditional backyard folding chairs.
The chair employs lightweight, durable shock-corded aluminum poles and high-tenacity 100D Robic and 300D polyester ripstop fabrics. The fabrics also have a waterproof coating that increases tear strength and overall durability.
Despite weighing just 3 pounds, 3 ounces, the chair can safely support up to 300 pounds. The seat of the chair is 24′ at its widest point and it sits 20′ off of the ground. When not in use, the chair packs down inside the included 3.
5′ x 21′ stuff sack. The Big Agnes Big Six Camp Chair is available in your choice of color options.
The chair is very comfortable and light weight and the sale price was extremely good for this chair (it was on sale and Sportman’s Warehouse had a 20 dollars off on purchases over $100). The only issue is that Big Agnes needs to make sand feet or a ground sheet for it similar to Trekology’s Yizi-go chair.
The chair sinks into sand/soft dirt making it a bit less stable (This is pretty common for most lightweight chairs, by any manufacturer because the surface area of the feet are small). I bought some 1″ pvc tees and bungee cord (to keep them together, and make them stay attached to the legs) and that seems to work decently, but it’d be nicer to have a lighter, more compact and better looking solution.

I have been waiting for a chair that I can depend on that wont collapse for my clients as I am a makeup artist and I hate bending as it is terribly aching on the back! This is the perfect height and I would highly recommend!! Go for it! Very sturdy and reliable.
Very very comfortable and I love the table as well for my customers drinks. Thank you for building a great chair! Did I mention light weight to carry?.
The Browning Director’s Chair XT is extra tall, which makes getting out of the chair easier, because you don’t have as far to get up, when compared to a standard height chair. It is composed of a sturdy powder coated aluminum frame that holds up to 325 pounds, making a well-built, strong chair that you can count on when you’re enjoying the great outdoors.
It folds flat for easy storage and transporting and “pops” back open when you’re ready to sit down and rest. The padded armrests, wide seat, and tall back provide maximum comfort time and time again.
I love this tall directors chair! We have thirteen guys on our deer lease and I constantly have to shoo someone out of my chair when we are around the campfire. It is very comfortable and the price was the best I’ve found.
I’m a big guy (240 lbs. ) and the chair is very sturdy with weight to spare. It easily collapses, and it easy to transport.
My husband loved it. He has bad legs but he loves to watch his grandson play soccer, and of course they play in a field. He needed something high and easy to carry and this was it. I could not believe it I found it nice price heavy duty made well and sat high it was perfect and it arrived fast.
Next day his at the game no problem. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I sell my jewelry line at craft shows and needed a high enough seat that would allow me to keep an eye on my product. Regular chair height was not practical. I chose this particular chair because it is elevated, can fold up very flat for transport and also has a foot rest for short gals like me.
I’m thrilled with the quality of the materials and the overall look of the chair. I would recommend it to everyone!.
You’re a grown-up, so it’s time to start camping like one. The Guide Gear Oversized XXL will help you do just that. Built with your comfort in mind, it’s bigger and stronger than ordinary camp chairs, with an impressive 600-lb weight capacity.

This chair is very wide as advertised which prevents use of both arm rests at the same time which I should have expected, but had not. I find the long unsupported front of the seat causes a hammock-like effect.
It is like using a modern-day kid swing that has a handing strap of fabric instead of a fixed flat board seat. The result is you sink to the center which is not comfortable. The back and bottom of the fabric being one unit also adds to that problem.
If the seat and back were separate pieces of fabric I don’t think the forward and inward sliding motion would happen. I feel like I’m just slipping out of the chair. I may have not needed as wide a chair.
Overall I don’t think this style of chair was a good option for me, however others may not have the same problems. It does appear to be very sturdy and well made. I will indicate that I would recommend to a friend even though I’ve found I’m not a fan of this chair style since I know I’m harder to please than most in the chair department.
I bought this chair because I purchased one 6 years ago and it held up. I lived 4 miles from the ocean, with my house facing it and locked it to the front porch support. I lost the key long ago, so it was tied to the porch for about 4 or 5 hurricanes.
It also sat in direct su light for about 6 hours a day. When it finally gave out, it was the material. With all of what that chair went through, you can bet your butt that I will be getting another exactly like it.
Thanks for the quick shipping and great quality at a very fair price.
I bought this chair on the recommendation of a friend. I was reluctant to give another camping style chair a try because for this weight limit they are usually very expensive and difficult to return if they don’t work out.
This is a solid chair, with a high back and sturdy arms. Bonus: it rocks! I felt very secure in it the first time I sat down. The seat is quite wide and slightly cushioned. There are pockets that hang on the side, perfect place to slip your phone into, or a book.
Since I bought this I have spent a lot more time sitting out on the patio just enjoying the fresh air. The chair is large and surprisingly not too heavy, but putting it in and out of a trunk could be a challenge to do very regularly.
This Camping Folding Chair is perfect for camping, picnics, cookouts, BBQ, back yard parties or any other activities. Large seat area with high-quality fabric with heavy-duty steel frame that can support up to 450lbs will show you luxurious comfort, you won’t regret of having it.
Padded armrest is a plus to improve your experience. When sitting in the cozy chair and enjoying beautiful scenery around you, you may need some more fun: Get yourself the drink you like in the cup holder and take some books, maps and magazines with you in the side storage pocket.
If you want to go out in a hot summer day, this chair still can be your 1st choice. The side cooler bag can provide you cool drink and drive away the hotness for you. This chair can be easily set up and folded so there’s no need to worry about the weight and the space, just take it everywhere you want.
Powder coated steel can eliminate you worry because the chair is rust-resistant and all-weather durable. You can enjoy your time with it for all seasons. Color: Black.
I purchased this chair for my husband who is 6’4” tall and 200 lbs. He is teaching on the tennis court 6 days a week and needed a comfortable chair to sit in. He loves it. It is very wide and not so close to the ground.
Specifications: Size: 676047/102cm Packed dimensions: 90 x 22. 5 x 21 cm Weight: 5. 1 kg Frame: steel tubes Fabric: 600300D Oxford Product description: The Monaro camping chair has immediately convinced us with its extra thick padded cover.
The comfortable armrests and the robust steel tube frame ensure extra comfort, which can carry a few kilos more. The side pocket offers space for everything you like to have with you. The assembly of the chair is also very simple.
Remove from the carry bag, pull apart and fix with two latches. Nothing stands in the way of a cosy afternoon when fishing or barbecuing in the garden at least in terms of seating comfort. Clear thing: when it goes out – then this camping chair has to be with you.
Package contents: 1 x folding chair. 1 x carry bag.
This chair is rated for weight in excess of 350 lbs. and I weigh less; however, the second time I used it a pop rivet broke on one of the legs nearly dumping me on the ground. I’ve worked around this issue and now the frame is bending more each time I put pressure on the arms to get up.
This is a piece of foreign made crap and would not recommend. I no longer feel safe and will junk this chair before I get hurt. It’s costed me roughly $5. 00 per use. Not a good use of my money.
The camping chair provides convenient portability from home to out and about and back again. Thanks to its compact, foldable design, and generously oversized carry bag, the Outdoor Spectator camping chair can be neatly stored in the closet or in most car trunks for quick, easy access.
The reinforced powdercoated steel frame and UV/water-resistant canvas construction can easily hold two adults (up to 400 lbs. total), but it still folds up to 8 1/2 in. wide x 8 1/2 in deep x 66 in. tall and stores in the included carrying bag.
Six mesh cup holders and a removable 12-can cooler ensure that the King will never be caught looking for a beverage.
A little bit of deviation from the norm. I had this in the shopping cart, but didn’t think we needed it. Told my wife about the chair, and her direct orders were to buy the chair. it’s a necessity. Great quality and heavily built!!.
The Kijaro Goliath Chair is the perfect heavy-duty portable chair for tailgating, sporting events, and camping trips. This durable camping chair weighs 12. 6 lbs. but can hold 600 lbs. The oversized camping chair includes a carry bag for convenient portability and storage, but it can also be carried using the buckle closure and attached carry strap.
I used to love Cabelas, before they merged with Bass Pro. Look at the weight rating on this expensive, heavy duty chair, that I bought for my 165 lb wife, please????? We have only had it less than 3 months and my wife has used it probably 25-30 times.
The seams along the sitting part of the seat are tearing out already (along the black and red in the picture)!! Good thing my 260 lb frame did not use this chair (look at the other negative reviews) left by other people.
I can not stand the cheap crap that Bass Pro/ Cabelas is putting out now, as it makes me sick. Luckily, we also have a Scheels in our city, and I got one of their credit cards, so 100% of all my outdoor needs are now purchased through Scheels, in which the quality of items are so much better.
Bye, bye Cabelas/Bass Pro!!! Hope screwing your customers was worth it!!.
I opened the chairs upon delivery and first impressions are very good. If they prove to be durable, I’ll be very happy. I like that they can be carried either in the bag, or with the attached strap, they lock and don’t sag, the material appears to be of high quality.
I will mention that some reviews I read complained about the cup holders. I don’t agree with them. They don’t affect the comfort at least for me and they have an internal loop to keep smaller cans upright, not mentioned by others.

Well I have gotten to actually use it yet since I got it for get togethers. However, my 2 boys seem to think it is quite comfy as they slept on it all day the day I pulled it out. Went to put it back in the bag but didn’t zip it all the way and one or both tried unzipping the bag (lol).
Can’t wait to actually use it myself though. On a side note, I got this one after having several of the other double chairs from target that isn’t padded and has a bar type thing under the middle. This one does not so I’m hoping it will be more comfortable to lay across (fingers crossed).

I was confused to receive an email from HD saying the chair had shipped yet it arrived 4 weeks later. However, this was the ETA given when I placed my order. Also, HD advertises the chair to be rated for 400 lbs but a tag on the chair shows that it is rated for 300 lbs.
Aside from these points, it is a solid chair and the large man I purchased it for finds it very comfortable.
Oversized and super strong, this camp chair weighs an easily transportable 13 pounds, but will support up to 400 pounds. Mesh back panel enhances breathability. Powder-coated steel frame folds into the included stuff sack.
This camp chair is amazing! Super roomy so even your grandkids can sit on your lap comfortably while either roasting marshmallows or watching them play baseball. Love that it is a high rise chair so easy to get in and out of.
It’s not a lightweight chair but the strap makes it easy to carry. Highly recommend!.
We got these chairs a couple of years ago. Rarely used, maybe a total of 10 times. They are comfortable, and easy to carry. BUT, the chair seams are pulling, and it won’t be long before one of us rips through the seat.
We are not big people. For an expensive chair, it is not holding up.
I intended to buy portable chairs to take to outdoor events, but these are definitely not designed for that. They are way too big and heavy. It is hard to judge that from the description. I thought ‘chair in a bag’, but I got a ‘CHAIR IN A BAG!’ If you are looking for something to set up in camp and left there for awhile, maybe this will work.
If you were thinking they are portable, think again. They are clunky at best and will take up a lot of room in your trunk or camper.
After testing out a variety of camping chairs, we’ve come to the conclusion that the best camping chair for tall people is the REI Co-op Camp Xtra Chair. This chair is roomy and comfortable, with a tall back that offers great support.
It’s also easy to set up and take down, and it’s lightweight and portable, making it ideal for camping trips.
