I have purchased a lot of collectors editions in the past. This one is in my top 10 best, and most bang for your buck. The dice are good and I cant wait to use them in DnD. The hammer is okay and is about the quality i expected.

Wish the hammer was heavier or just didnt feel super plastic but i am okay with it. Box is amazing. Almost dont want to throw it away.

Absolutely struck gold getting the pre order through back in July. It’s a very good, extremely rare edition. The big drawback here is you get a digital voucher instead of a disc; which is sacrilege for collectors, but that’s an indictment on SONY, not Best Buy.

It’s a beautiful set, wish it came with a physical copy of the game instead of just download codes, but I knew that before purchasing. Mostly bought for the hammer and shrine and was not disappointed.

Was also delivered at 10:00am on release day in a sturdy box with corner protectors.

The Ratchet and Clank PS4 game already felt like playing a Pixar movie at the time. Rift Apart on the PS5 kicks things up another level. The level of detail on characters, the environment, particle effects – it’s hard to imagine this kind of graphical feat being possible last generation.

By now, Ratchet and Clank games have a well-established formula. You’ll traverse various planets using a myriad of gadgets, while blasting enemies and upgrading a creative assortment of weapons. In terms of innovation, the weapons this time around have great distinctive feels, especially with the PS5’s adaptive triggers providing additional functionality.

There’s a weapon that bounces a projectile off the same enemy with each press of the trigger. There’s one that shoots drills underground to jump out at foes from afar. There’s another that turns enemies into hedges.

The weapon upgrade grind is much more forgiving this time, so maxing out your entire arsenal isn’t much of a chore if you’re inclined to do that. I felt that having maybe one or 2 more planets to explore would’ve been great, but what’s already here is also plenty to explore.

Planets are large with optional objectives and areas. They’re quite varied from one another. The Rift mechanic is essentially a glorified teleportation device, but nevertheless fun to use and handy in combat and platforming.

You’ll switch between 2 characters who play almost identically to each other. As with the PS4 entry, Ratchet and Clank are quite bland characters. The series has taken on a wholesome tone that caters well towards a younger crowd but may disappoint fans of the crasser PS2 titles.

That being said, you’ll still feel invested in the characters, and plot events will unfold that make it hard to put the controller down. I just hope the obsession with Dr Nefarious dies down. It’s time the series introduced new compelling villains.

Rift apart is a beautiful game. The story absolutely captivated me from start to finish, the cutscenes were masterfully crafted, and there was a healthy mix of platforming and fighting. However, this game fails to separate itself from any other ratchet and clank game.

Although rifting to new dimensions was an incredible experience that showcased the power of the PS5, I felt like I had played the game already. The formula of every ratchet and clank experience was yet again used here.

Ratchet and clank have some sort of problem, clank gets separated, does some puzzles on his own, and then rejoins ratchet at the end. Essentially, in every game we start with a strong and happy duo, followed by individual growth and longing for each other, finished by a reminder of how great teamwork is.

The plot line and themes are old and predictable. Moreover, there was a lack of enemy diversity. I felt like I had already fought the same enemies in other games. Most of the new enemies are just reskins of past enemies, and some enemies are plain reused.

Even if the repeat enemies are only there because of the rift openings to other dimensions, I felt bored fighting them. Also, I just didn’t enjoy any of the weapons that were introduced. Yet again, they were all variations of old weapons and sometimes the exact same ones.

They felt clunky and uninspired (except the RYNO). Plus, the extra perk from hitting level 5 on a weapon was often unnoticeable. Overall, the biggest compliment I can give this game is its story. The new characters were introduced well and they had a great climax and ending to them.

The dialogue was well written and humorous, and it was enjoyable to see every past character’s other dimensional half. In the future, I’d like to see the Ratchet and Clank franchise try something new, as they have done in the past with a few games.

Find something truly new to the formula. Take a risk and give us an experience that feels unique.

If you like the previous Ratchet & Clank games, you will like this. the game play is not too different from previous in the series and plays smoothly. You have you melee weapons and long range guns. each time you use those guns, it gains XP and levels up which opens up more upgrades for that gun.

Each map has collectibles that help you unlock armors, certain special gun and cheat or special menu. This menu where you can change your weapons, the way currency look like, the way your ship looks like, infinite ammo etc.

Gameplay did feel easier compare to previous game but maybe i played too many R&C games that i got use to it. there are no racing mini game like in the previous game such as hover board, they do have this one small creature that you use to ride really fast to get to the boss but it is for just a small part of the game and for that particular map only.

you have arena where you have 3 different tier of challenges which mostly you fight waves of enemies with certain condition like only certain weapons allowed or mini racing game as i mentioned earlier but mostly you just kill waves of different type of enemies.

Story is also very engaging but felt bit shorter compare to previous game. There are collectible but very easy to find and i barely used any guide to help me. getting trophies and achievement is very very easy compare to previous games, i mean 2/10 difficulty.

over all i enjoyed the game.

Awesome game!! Not as easy game, which is how it should be. There’s a lot involved in racing a real motorcycle and this game comes fairly close to representing some of the real physics. considering it’s a only video game anyway.

Seriously though, for you cry babies giving a poor rating/review only because it’s too difficult. sell your Playstation, buy an Atari, and play Pong. Save your reviews/”options” for shows and movies.

leave the reviewing of real games to the big boys.

If you want the sports bike simulator this is the one for you! It looks so realistic you have to remember you’re playing a game. Great game play competitive racing and the handling of the bikes is wonderful.

Especially with the haptic feedback controller with the PS5.

My favorite part of this game was the combat. It was what made me want the game in the first place, and I definitely wasn’t disappointed with that part. It wasn’t the deepest combat system ever, but it worked well and was a lot of fun to use.

The different character abilities and combinations made the combat stay fresh for a while, which was great. The story started off promising but was ultimately lackluster. All of the characters fall flat, and I found most of them pretty forgettable even with the ‘relationship building’ aspect of the game.

The story was very anime, especially with some of the plot twists, parts of it were promising, but for some reason I just didn’t find it that compelling. The dual protagonists felt like a bit of a missed opportunity, because they explain everything important you would learn in the other playthrough no matter which character you have.

I didn’t actually finish the second playthrough, because the story and characters didn’t feel interesting enough to see the different parts, especially since all the big reveals have already been told to you.

Also, the game has terrible side quests. These are some of the most poorly designed, boring, inconsequential side quests every in a game. No relevance to the story, no cutscenes even, just boring filler.

I still give the game 3. 5/5 because it’s overall a good game, I just found the story and characters to be a bit lackluster. It’s good for a one-time playthrough to pass the time, but not really memorable or amazing.

I really like this game a lot. The gameplay is fun and engaging and doesn’t get old. The music gives off persona 5 vibes which is awesome since that game also is very good. The story is interesting and I’m excited to see where it goes.

From a gameplay viewpoint: You use teleknesis to throw objects around at different enemies and you can also use your teammates powers to enhance your own. This keeps the combat engaging as you can change which teammates powers you are using in battle.

This makes it fun to test out different combos to see which combination is best suited to handle different enemies. From a story standpoint: The story is treated more like a visual novel at some points where you have a still image of the characters in a scene and then they have the conversation on top.

I don’t mind this and thought this was a fun way to have the story be displayed. The story (so far) is very interesting. I don’t want to give anything away so, I’ll keep this vague. The story starts off as not super interesting but, then once something happens (you will immediately know when this happens) it gets very intriguing as story gets really crazy and draws me back.

Along with the main story, you can talk with your friends to boost their bonus to you and your team. I like this a lot as it gives you greater insight as to why people are fighting or act the way they do.

It’s fun to see the interactions continue throughout the game. I also want to mention the side quests. They seem so far to be more or less pointless which kinda sucks. I felt that they could’ve given more story behind these quests instead of “go here and kill this enemy”.

Also the side quests are mega tedious, usually boiling down to “defeat these enemies in this way”. I think it’s trying to get the player to learn different ways to defeat opponents but, it’s not very fun.

Overall, if you want a fun hack and slash game with cool gameplay mechanics that has also has a good story, I think you’ll enjoy this game.

I pre-ordered this game as my first ps5 game purchase, so I paid full price of $60. It came with 2 weeks of funimation subscription (valued at 7. 99$ per month), and I think it was ok. This game price dropped really quickly, which made me feel a bit salty about it.

There’s a motion blur that I really did not like that people said is due to the unreal engine and that it could be resolved on the PC version of the game. It honestly made me think the game was ghosting on my TV.

Combat, while flashy, gets repetitive and incredibly annoying with the enemy target lock system. I spent a little less than 30 hours on the game (I definitely wasted a few hours of time here or there) and only played through Kasane’s route.

I don’t feel compelled to play through Yuito’s story. I don’t regret playing the game, but buy it on sale at $30 or less.

Insomniac Games fail to disappoint as they know how to create excellent games. This is truly a game with next-gen graphics and showcases the PS5’s new capabilities of no loading screens and the controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

It’s a must-have for everyone who owns a PS5 as it has amazing characters, a great story and a large catalogue of unique weapons that are fun to use. For anyone that might think the game is childish as I also initially thought it was, it’s actually a mature game that’s suitable for anyone at any age.

I completed the game in 17 hours (nearly completed all side quests) on the second hardest difficulty with all the powerful weapons fully upgraded, so I would recommend playing on a higher difficulty if you would like to put more hours into the game.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart opens with the titular heroes by celebrated, but Ratchet wonders why they’re getting a parade when they haven’t done anything in years. He doesn’t even know if he’s still got it.

It’s a fun opening for the game, and a nice way of Insomniac acknowledging how long it has been since a truly new Ratchet & Clank game. Have they still got it? Oh yeah, they’ve still got it. Visually stunning, excellent combat, solid level design, lovable characters, awesome weapons and did I mention visually stunning? Seriously, this game could melt eyeballs.

You get a well-paced 10-15 hour campaign that fits in plenty of gameplay variety, and then there’s a Challenge mode, basically New Game+, that lets you level up your weapons even higher. Insomniac have put out two games on the PS5 over the course of just six months and both have been outstanding.

But this is a proper PS5 exclusive and it makes the best argument as to why it’s good to let developers build for the latest hardware. A truly awesome adventure from start to finish.

This game is a blast to play. It looks gorgeous (stylized characters for the win) and is super accessible. The game never gets too difficult, and yet it still grabs ya to keep playing. If you want a more “old school” kind of game, this one fits the bill.

Well I purchased this game as I used to play the older games and was curious what it would be like on the PS4, I was surprised as the graphics have definately been updated, the planets you have to visit are familiar as are many of the weapons.

Both the characters are very playable and sometimes you feel like you’re in an animated movie as it looks so good, the gameplay is pretty easy as you can complete it in Easy/Normal/Hard mode pretty quickly.

Get collecting those nuts & bolts and you’ll have hours of fun on this version of Ratchet & Clank.

While getting a PS5 was tough, it was beyond worth it. Coming from a PS4 Pro, the graphical improvements are impressive. But the most striking thing about the system is the speed. Load times in most games are so brief that you won’t even have time to read and send a text message, and that’s not an exaggeration.

It is a MAJOR improvement and makes gaming even more of a joy. The DualSense controller is much heavier than I was expecting, but it hasn’t been a problem, and the feature set makes it worthwhile. Play the included “Astro’s Playroom” game for a fun and engaging tech demo of everything that controller can do.

The two biggest gripes I have are the UI and the out of the box storage capacity. The UI is so busy it’s just obnoxious. Turning off the PS4 was very easy from the controller, even when I wasn’t looking at the screen.

But on the PS5, you have to use a quick menu by pressing the PS button, and the power options on this menu are in a less intuitive location. They also waste real estate with a media tab that I, like many others, will never use.

The storage is far and away the worst part. The 825 GB SSD is only 667. 2 GB after formatting with the OS installed, and this is simply not enough given the size of PS5 games, which will only increase over time.

PS5 games also can only be stored on an external HDD – not played, so you have to swap games out if you wish to use an external drive. However, you can store and play PS4 games this way, which is nice.

And you can set PS4 games automatically install on the external drive with an available option if you choose. Thankfully, Sony added an easily accessible storage upgrade slot to add additional capacity to the system, though the compatible drives remain quite expensive, but I do appreciate having the option, and not having to replace the existing drive, but instead adding an additional one.

This means even adding a 1 TB drive will more than double the 667. 2 GB out of the box. Other than these gripes, the system is amazing. The exclusive titles are great, the upgrades and improvements on PS4 games are wonderful, and it’s a quiet and solid system.

Overall, I find it leagues better than I ever found the PS4 Pro to be. Highly recommended.

2nd time playing ratchet and Clank series after first playing rift apart and the game was just(or almost) as enjoyable. Without comparing rift apart just buy the game but for those who have played rift I will discuss the differences.

On the map before you collect the map that shows you where all the collectibles are, this game doesn’t show you where the teleporters are to get back to your ship whereas rift does. It also doesn’t allow NPC to show you where things you are collecting for them are, whereas after the first few, rift apart would show you on the map after talking to the NPC where the rest of then were.

Some weapons are similar but most have a slight tweak to keep it different and having a card collection was another fun side thing to focus on. Definately worth $20 for this game. In value for money this game is better than rift apart (which is way too expensive and SHORTER length than this game for a hefty $100+ currently).

I bought this game to distract a kid visiting home. But he ended up not playing it and the game spent months unused. I even installed it on the PS4 for him. But the kid, unimpressed just asked to play Fortnite.

Some time later I was bored at home and decided to give it a go. At first, the visuals impressed me for how great they looked. It was just like a Disney film. One hour later I was hooked. The action is great, the combat also great.

Lots of fun for a kid. The story is simple but I enjoyed it. Ratchet is a lombax (like a space rat). He’s a mechanic that dreams to be a Galactic Ranger and explore the galaxy. One day the meets a robot named Clank and they team up (accidentally) to stop Dr.

Nefarous (the bad guy) from destroying the galaxy. There’s some interesting twist in the story. The weapons are a lot of fun and you end up building a lot o them. I finished the game in a couple of weeks, but kept returning to it to get a platinum trophy.

I really recommend this game for kids. The production values are top notch and it looks great. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Ratchet and Clank is what every modern “remake” or “remaster” of a classic game should aspire to be. There are enough differences, in terms of story, characters, and locales to give this game its own identity, separate from the 2002 game it’s based on, but there’s also a degree of familiarity to it all that makes for a wonderful, almost surreal experience for longtime fans of the series.

As someone who grew up with this series, and the aforementioned 2002 PlayStation 2 version of Ratchet and Clank, seeing familiar locations and characters rendered in full 1080p, with a level of detail that could rival some of Pixar’s finest animation, is not only an amazing experience, but a testament to just how quickly technology advances in such a short period of time.

Simply put: this is one of the most beautiful games currently available for the PlayStation 4. In terms of gameplay, for fans of the original series, Ratchet & Clank reminds us of why it was one of the best action platformers on the market for over a decade, and, for those new to the series, as with everything else in the game, it reinvents the formula of past games with an unparalleled level of precision that, initially, takes some getting used to, but, ultimately, proves particularly rewarding.

There are several new gameplay mechanics added, as well, but, most notably, is the ability to level up, upgrade, and customize your weapons. Each weapon has its own skill tree that you can unlock through currency found in the game (in this universe, that takes the form of bolts and an alien mineral called raritanium), and it can be upgraded to fit your play style, with perks for improved accuracy and the ability to carry more ammunition, among others.

It’s yet another small, but noticeable change that serves to separate this game from its past-gen predecessor. There’s a ton of stuff to do here, outside of the main story, as well. In addition to hidden “Gold Bolts” (a staple of this series; collecting these rewards you with bonus content including different costumes, filters for the game, concept art, and gameplay cheats), that provide you with a reason to revisit the game, should you beat it and want something else to do, there is also a new card collecting mechanic in the form of “holocards” that drop from defeated enemies or are hidden in secret locations.

These cards allow you to further upgrade your weapons, should you collect them all, and, in one case, unlock the most powerful weapon in the game. Ratchet & Clank is a blast, and it’s perfect for the whole family.

For fans like myself, who’ve watched the original series grow into a franchise with a library of over 10 titles available under the brand, this is a perfect exercise in nostalgia, reminding you why you fell in love with the series, while portraying the original classic in a whole new light, and, for those who just think it looks like a great game, this is a perfect opportunity to jump in and start from the beginning.

The humor, heart, and unique characters are what allowed this series to endure for as long as it has, and this game does not disappoint, allowing a new generation to enjoy this rousing tale of friendship and heroism in a galaxy far, far away.

The original Ratchet & Clank Trilogy still holds up as a staple of the platforming genre! The weapons are fantastic, the movement is smooth for the era, the score is phenomenal, & the humor still tickles my funny bone! If you’ve got a PS2 I’d highly recommend hunting down the original games.

They may not be as graphically polished as the HD collection on PS3, but it’s hard to beat nostalgia, & the original’s refinement on PS2. While red label games aren’t as favorable for a collection, it’s far easier to find copies with beautiful disc, manual, and case conditions.

One of the best RaC games imo not to mention I was stunned on the copy I got. I thought it was a new copy couldn’t believe how great the condition was also how far it arrived to my door. Such a great site for buying retro games.

Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (known as Ratchet & Clank: Locked & Loaded in Europe, Australia and New Zealand) was released on November 11, 2003 in North America for the PlayStation 2. Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando was the first Western game to be bundled in with the PlayStation 2 hardware in Japan, but there were a few changes made to make it more popular.

Ratchet’s eyes are more of an anime style, and he was given large eyebrows. This game uses the ‘leveling’ system that appears in every other game. Rather than collecting platinum bolts to upgrade weapons to more powerful, Platinum Varieties, Weapons have nanobot technology that, after gaining enough experience, causes them to evolve into a more powerful form with new abilities.

These nanobots also apply to Ratchet, and his health will increase once his own personal experience rises high enough. Going Commando also introduced regular strafing to gameplay, whereas Ratchet could only strafe with the thruster pack, and he would only hover in the first game.

Plus, Instead of an improbable “bomb glove” like in the first one, the game uses a bazooka-like gun which shoots bombs. The game takes place in a different setting than the first installment, this time in the Bogon Galaxy.

In Going Commando Ratchet competes in hoverbike races and engages in spaceship battles. The story in this chapter has Megacorp boss, Abercrombie Fizzwidget, hire Ratchet and Clank to retrieve the “protopet”, a new invention stolen by a masked thief.

The duo retrieve the protopet and confront the thief, but “he” turns out to be a female, Angela, who helps them investigate the protopet’s true origins. They find out Abercrombie Fizzwidget is Captain Qwark in disguise and he created the protopet to spread disaster across the galaxy.

He plans to frame Ratchet, Clank and Angela, and then destroy the original protopet to restore his reputation as a hero. Qwark then films himself attempting to “cure” the original protopet using a device made by Angela.

The device backfires, and turns the protopet into a huge mutant monster that the duo will have to defeat as a final boss.
