17 Best Brain Teaser Puzzles For Adults (2023 Updated)

We have had this game for awhile, and there is even a piece missing. My 6 year old who is obsessed with numbers and figuring out problems has discovered this game on our shelf and has spent hours (not on a screen!) challenging himself and celebrating each time he solves a puzzle.

I would love to purchase the missing piece if possible – but even without it, he can do all the 2D puzzles. Lots of fun summertime brain challenges at our house!.

These Kanoodle puzzles are joining my Tenyo “Beat the Computer” puzzles as all-time classics! I’ve been collecting Combinatorial puzzles nearly all my life, and these are great! I love the addition of the 3-D pyramid challenges.

They are fun, and the packaging is perfect for taking along on a trip. I can’t wait to share these with my grandchildren.

Kanoodle Extreme is a travel sized puzzle game where you slide open a compartment to maneuver little plastic spheres. Everything fits nicely in a plastic box just bigger than a smartphone so it is completely portable.

The instruction booklet has 303 brain-busting puzzles to solve. The player has to fit the spheres on the plastic board to fit various combinations, with the puzzles getting more and more challenging.

After mastering 2-D puzzles, the player can move onto 3-D puzzles which is pyramid building. Honestly these puzzles are challenging! I tried a few and they definitely worked my brain! Perfect for kids to challenge themselves and while it is only for a single player, players could take turns with the puzzles.

I have actually bought these twice. Once last year for my son to include in his class Valentines. We didn’t want to do candy and these were a big hit. This time I bought them as a give away for a conference.

Research shows that people retain information better when they fidget. These little mind teasers are a great fidget/ distraction technique. They are very small so don’t give them to small children. There are a couple of different types in the package so people can switch once they figure out one.

Each one comes with picture instructions so they are frustration free.

School bus driver 40+ kids aged 5-18. Exactly what I wanted to see. Kids were trying to get full sets and seeing who could solve fastest. Better than candy.

I bought these as Easter egg stuffers for an older kid (7). I’m not a huge fan of candy and disposable toys and wanted something unique. These are perfect for that. They are of very good quality for the price and have a decent variety (8 sets of 6 different puzzles).

I love that they all come with the directions for solving. The kids haven’t actually seen them yet, but I have played with them and am very happy with the purchase. I think I’ll keep a set in the car and throw some in bags for long waits.

I believe mine arrived defective. The white side feels jammed compared to the other five sides. The other sides turn effortlessly. If you’re used to the stiff default cube, it’ll take a few tries to get used to the low friction on this one, but it’ll shave off your solve time once you get the hang of it.

This cube has a way better feel and smoothness than my original Rubik’s cube. It never gets caught or stuck. I know nothing about speed cubing, but for an ordinary cuber this is a terrific product.

Much easier to manipulate than the original Rubik’s cube. It has barely been put down since it was opened on Christmas Day! Be aware that pieces can pop out if you get too carried away.

I had gifted it to my partner’s father for Christmas, and right after taking it out of the wrapping, my partner’s mom exclaimed that she loves puzzles. Subsequently, each person who walked by the living room table would pick it up and try to solve the puzzle.

A few days later, it became a personal challenge and competition for my partner’s mom and brother, where they would challenge each other to solve the puzzle. Only downside was that we noticed a cord that looked like it was detaching from one of the heads after a few plays.

This game was part of an Easter basket of games and activities for my family of teens/college age and adults during Covid-19 social distancing orders. This is an individual activity the presents a challenge.

The family members each had fun with this at different times and expressed wanting to solve it so stuck with it. Provides a nice alternative to TV or social media and engages the brain.

Great for anyone who likes special reasoning, (think stem people). However the design has two minor flaws: one hole gets in the way of the other two. This means the knobs have to touch, and I worry about the effects long term.

The second flaw is that two of the sides not pictured are not clear as the other sides are. It’s a minor flaw, but a little distracting and annoying when playing. Finally, it would be nice if there were given setups.

Very happy with my purchase, my Grandson is going to enjoy this Brain Teaser Puzzle, very well packaged & didn’t take long to arrive.

At 7 years old, my grandson picked up a basketball and put down toys. From then on, it was basketball and guitars. So, finding what to get him for presents got challenging. This past August, he had a tragic accident and lost a finger.

Finding gifts for him became somehow more imperative. He loves these products and wants more now! So, thank you for making this grandmom all the more cooler.

Gave to adult son who solved it in about 30 minutes. My husband didn’t solve it and my engineer son didn’t solve it. So it’s pretty challenging. A victory for those who can solve it. As far as this type of thing I’d say it’s the best I’ve seen because it’s pretty and well made and fun.

It will stay out on the coffee table as decor when not messing with the brain of family members.

I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my husband who loves puzzles and beer. It was the perfect gift. He spent the rest of the afternoon trying to solve the puzzle. I was worried he would solve it too quickly, but it is harder than it looks.

I am addicted to trying to solve this puzzle. There has to be a logical way to solve it and I haven’t yet figured it out. I love to play random matching/strategy games and I chose to work on this puzzle instead of those games.

My only slight issue is that some of the wooden number pieces have rough edges and have scraped my skin (but I have since sanded them down myself). I will beat the puzzle one day, I am determined!.

Challenging puzzle, great to keep on my desk at work for a distraction or quick break. Love having different puzzles around, and this is a great addition to the collection. Can’t wait to solve it!

Gift for my grandson who is a university student. The puzzle is well made, small enough to carry while traveling, and interesting. Packaging is excellent. Delivery was even sooner than expected. In other words, your products are new and of good quality and your service is impeccable.

This puzzle is brilliant! Amazing and ingenious design, and constructed with very exact tolerances. Unfortunately I just happened to figure it out fairly quickly. But it been a good conversation piece, and I’ve had folks fiddling with it for hours trying to figure it out.

Definitely looking forward to acquiring more Hanayama puzzles.

Very challenging puzzle

This was suggested by your partner in store when I was looking for a birthday present for an ‘older’ mind. It is keeping him very busy. He is enjoying it. It would be great for someone with the starting of dementia.

Was looking for a gift that was a bit different and not candles or alcohol!! This fit the bill. Looks good, will entertain for hours and met the needs of the person who has everything…..

We bought this for a present, it was for a dad but we thought this could be something that could be shared with his family and they loved it!

I have had wooden puzzles before the cheap ones from the pop up shop in the shopping centre this is far better quality of wood and it’s laser cut with laser etching so much better quality of finish. It wasn’t easy as I needed to concentrate on it but I got it finished within two full days.

There are pictorial instructions and while they are good I still had to think about what they were telling me. I got the train all finished then wound it up and nothing happened after carefully checking the alignment of all the cogs etc I waxed all the friction contacts and it work really well not as good in their video so I waxed it up again.

Though it helped I wasn’t happy. So I took a risk and sprayed it with silicone spray now I’m happy. There are some spare parts supplied as well.

Overall the model manufactured OK and the instructions are good, however there are a few things you should know before you buy. Have a sharp exacto knife and lots of blades, Most pieces do not come out easily until you cut around the perimeter.

Board #6 was especially hard. My number one complaint is the model uses common store bought round toothpicks for the many dowel rods you need to build this model, numerous times I had to sand down the toothpick until it fit.

The model took much longer to build because of this. Also it states no glue is needed however had to use in a few places. Parts just did not fit snugly. When completed, the model mechanics did not travel well due to being very under powered by using 4 rubber bands, the mechanics worked though.

Model has a good look to it. I have many years of woodworking skills which help me to complete the model. Follow up, buy high quality tooth picks, they fit much better.

This was a good thing to pass time. I enjoy puzzles and globes. This was a perfect match. It was not to hard to put together. The instructions were very easy to follow. The pieces are very solid. None if them broke.

It was supposed to come with a bar of wax. You will need that for some moving parts. If you want to also pass time during this period of social distancing. This will help.

I received my figits and had to build them right away!! Easy to do and fun to play with! Lost one right away to my Son and two more to Grandsons shortly after! Good thing there are 4 in a pack, eh!! Pleased with the way they go together so quickly and they will have no problem getting used for a quick fix of flicking when you need something to do for a minute or two!! ENJOY.

Very interesting and unusual products. My son loved the Christmas car gift so much so at his birthday he asked for the train. Overall very positive experience.
