I have struggled with OCD since I was 8 years old. I have tried absolutely everything: supplements, medication, CBT, therapy, mindfulness, and more. I finally tried the anti-anxiety notebook and YALL.
THIS IS AMAZING. It is developed by clinical therapists to provide anxiety techniques to utilize from your home. I love this notebook because I can use it whenever. In addition to providing framed questions that help you re-think whatever is causing anxiety, there is also a note of encouragement to ponder at the end of each page, as well as chapters that provide knowledge on changing your thought patterns.
I am obsessed with this and I recommend it to anyone who struggles with any type of anxiety. SO USEFUL!.
I just received my notebook today. It is very well organized and I love the hardcover, paper stock, etc. I only wish it was more of a notebook size. The font is small and my handwriting is also large.
I can make this work, but simply sharing a larger size might work better for some people so having a choice would be great. Thank you for this tool. It will be very helpful. I plan to start using this tonight.
I was really impressed with the layout and educational tools in this notebook–it’s great for times I need to externally process. The back has a really useful guide to explaining common coping mechanisms, as well as a feelings wheel that helps pinpoint exactly what you’re feeling.
The notebook itself is the perfect size for bringing it wherever you go! :).

Depression Free Naturally is a golden gem of information which I do not how I got by without. The best information I had before this book was the wisdom of a few witchy, intuitive, women like my daughter-in-law.
I tried two remedies immediately, one for anxiety for myself and one for depression for my nephew. They worked within two weeks and I started my daughters dog on a remedy. That worked immediately. I recommended a remedy to a friend who had been on meds for decades.
It did not work right away and that person gave up. It says right in the book that people whove been on meds z long time may need to consult their doctor to figure out a plan to use the supplements and ween themselves off the meds slowly.
This is the third copy I have purchased of this book. I have lent it to friends and allowed them to keep mine so they can high light it for their own purposes. A great hope giver for those who suffer these debilitating conditions and don’t want to go down the “drug” track.
This is one of the best health books I have ever read. It has given me hope that I can get to the bottom of my 12-year depression that has not been helped by prescription medicine nor by balancing my thyroid and other hormones.
It also talks about other ailments that can be helped with supplements, like weight, ADD, and lots else, so I’m going to be sharing this with all my friends that don’t suffer from depression. I am going to be implementing these tests and supplements right away.
I’m so excited about it. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!.
10. How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence [Book]
“Pollan keeps you turning the pages. cleareyed and assured. ” —New York TimesA #1 New York Times Bestseller, New York Times Book Review 10 Best Books of 2018, and New York Times Notable Book A brilliant and brave investigation into the medical and scientific revolution taking place around psychedelic drugs–and the spellbinding story of his own life-changing psychedelic experiences When Michael Pollan set out to research how LSD and psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) are being used to provide relief to people suffering from difficult-to-treat conditions such as depression, addiction and anxiety, he did not intend to write what is undoubtedly his most personal book.
But upon discovering how these remarkable substances are improving the lives not only of the mentally ill but also of healthy people coming to grips with the challenges of everyday life, he decided to explore the landscape of the mind in the first person as well as the third.
Thus began a singular adventure into various altered states of consciousness, along with a dive deep into both the latest brain science and the thriving underground community of psychedelic therapists.
Pollan sifts the historical record to separate the truth about these mysterious drugs from the myths that have surrounded them since the 1960s, when a handful of psychedelic evangelists inadvertently catalyzed a powerful backlash against what was then a promising field of research.
A unique and elegant blend of science, memoir, travel writing, history, and medicine, How to Change Your Mind is a triumph of participatory journalism. By turns dazzling and edifying, it is the gripping account of a journey to an exciting and unexpected new frontier in our understanding of the mind, the self, and our place in the world.
I have enjoyed the Audiobook thoroughly. It has been the most enjoyable book I have read this year, and truthfully for a every long time. I have been excited to pick up where I left off, making excuses to exercise more than usual (with headphones in) and am buying the book for everyone this Christmas, Mum included.
It’s hard to put into words why I like this book so much (much as the mystical experience is ineffable) – but I will try. First and foremost an incredible piece of journalism. Michael Pollan has a real way with words, unlike myself – so I will do my best to honour him here.
For me, the narrative was engaging, highly researched, honest, rich in characters, and highly important at this time in history. It was not only factual, but really enjoyable – often bringing a smile to my face – or a few moments of giggling out loud.
For me, as someone who has had these experiences within the context of more – “recreational” use, It allowed my understand more about what I myself have experienced, and in doing so allowed me to relive the “afterglow” again, remembering who I am, and remembering the feeling of ego-dissolution which I had allowed myself to forget at times.
I think the most important thing about this body of work is the stepping stone it has created to contribute to the inevitable welcoming of these medicines into proper therapy practice. I hope that this book touches many people, the right people.
I just want to say thank you to Michael Pollan for creating such an important body of work.
How to Change Your Mind is a wonderful read which introduces readers to plant medicines and the fascinating world of psychedelics. You will learn about the history of psychedelic use, the drug war, current and past research, harm reduction, and a glimpse into the underground society of guides and practitioners.
For an overview of psychedelics, this is a must read.
This throws a new light on the gospel notion of ‘coming to me’ (conscious) as a little child. If you are or ever have been Christian. Anyway it’s great history. Though I’m amazed that John Lilly doesn’t get a mention, all the same there are other major mentions I’m seeing for the first time.
Leary gets the mixed wrap he should. And yes women get a good look in. Definitely for those who seek, for those who seek fingers pointing to the moon.
