I am 64 I have taken care of my skin since I can remember. The second my sister and I had any signs of a blemish our mother took us both to the dermatologist. I wasn’t as lucky to have the perfect flawless skin that my OLDER sister STILL has! I will say that with LineBLURfectur Primer I may still have a chance to look AS good as her! About a week in my face started looking good enough I noticed that what ever ‘PRIMING” it was doing I felt confident enough that for the first time , , LESS IS MORE! Who knew! and it was liberating!! my face didn’t look as old lady fake, i looked more natural with just eye makeup and a little blush, i blended, put on my favorite pink lipstick and i looked great!! This stuff within a few weeks does actually make your face look and feel much younger! I do hope that you have much success with your youth finding journey.
If you feel like you look radiant after a week or two of using – do what I did and see if anyone compliments you!? IF IF IF they negatively say something RECON girls we aren’t teenagers so come on laugh it off and say you’ve been having HOT FLASHES, (LOL) Not Sleeping well, they will all nod and move on.
I highly doubt something negative is going to come out of that little positive pink and white tube of LineBLUR that feels kinda like magic going on your face!! You know what I’m talking about you beautiful ladies! Enjoy every minute of your journey of your life.
i think its harder looking at the SCALE than in the mirror. we had to choose our battles with our kids, now we have to choose our battles with ourselves!!! Our children would simply laugh at us if they only knew what we are all really thinking!! happy Sojourn xo.
So after reading all the raving reviews, I decided to order this. I’m 42 and have started noticing fine lines and wrinkles. I wanted this to wear under my makeup. I used it all over my face, a very thin layer.
I made sure to close my eyes and made sure not to get any near my eyes. This stuff burned my eyes right away and it took a while to go away and my eyes kept tearing. So I figured next time I would be more careful.
So I look at my face and see a very slight difference. It seemed to make my pores a little less noticeable, But nothing like all the other reviews showed. So the next time I tried a thicker amount. And again it burned my eyes and I still didn’t see much of a difference.
I’m very disappointed in this product. Especially for the price of this stuff. I will say that it does make my face feel a little smoother though, so that’s a plus.
I didn’t have any break outs from this. I do have oily skin so I normally prime, spray setting spray powdered then after applying my foundation add a bit more powder to my T-Zone. I don’t really have deep lines so it did blur the fine lines I have.
It has benefits as well like B3/Niacin to correct skin. If you’re looking for something like the Peter Thomas Roth brands that instantly lift and tighten this isn’t it. It does help and it helps prevent more lines.
It did work well as a primer but I think this is something I would use with very little to no foundation. Maybe a light makeup day with just corrections.
Instantly prime, smooth & even out the look of skin while getting a glowy, “filter-like” finish. Available in sheer, buildable tints that blur skin & create a radiant base for makeup, plus an untinted priming formula that doubles as a sheer, golden illuminizer.

” It’s not just primer—it’s skincare. Find your blur!.
I purchased this product because I was in the market for a tinted moisturizer and have never tried any before, this was too good of a deal to pass up without at least trying. For reference, I have the most porcelain skin I have ever seen in my life so nearly everything that I purchase is too dark or turns orange on my skin.
I have two tried and true foundations, one from Smashbox and the other from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have a dry combination skin type for reference. I wanted to love this product and it was promising at first but within the first few minutes, it was already oxidizing on my skin.
It oxidized so bad that I had an entirely different color on my face than my hairline or the rest of my body. It looked as if I had gotten a bad spray tan. It also made my super dry skin feel heavy, clogged, and oily.
I will also add, that I have contact dermatitis which is a form of eczema in which I have very sensitive skin and can only use certain soaps and cosmetics but had heard many good things about Tula. Unfortunately, this product also made my face start burning, similar feeling to a sunburn, when it was on my skin and I washed it off immediately.
I know that I am not the norm for cosmetic buyers but in case someone out there has a similar skin type, I wanted to share my experience.
I finally took the plunge and ordered this product and the Tula Cult Classic face cleanser. I officially am sold on Tula products and this one in particular is my favorite! I will never buy another brand primer! At 31 years old I am noticing my skin is not as firm and supple as it used to be, my pores are more noticeable and I am starting to get the fine lines in my laugh lines.
I have tried numerous primers before from drug store to Ulta Brand to The POREfessional and none of them have wowed me like this Tula primer. This is a tinted primer that is activated when applied to your skin.
It matches perfectly with my skin without even looking like I put a colored product on my face. It is so lightweight, my pores are now invisible, makes my makeup last all day, and makes my skin feel so soft and nourished.
I have not been using it long enough to see the results it claims to have but I whole heartedly believe I will with consistent use. Do not hesitate, if you need a good primer get this Tula Filter Primer now!.
After great reviews I bought it. It is going back. There is nothing about this that makes it so hyped. I wore it multiple times, with different foundations/tinted moisturizers. On one day I noticed foundation on everything I touched (after touching my face).
It didn’t help foundation stay on. All my other primers including hydrating primers have done a better job of reducing transfer/slip. I have redness on my nose and cheeks. This primer didn’t make a slightest difference.
Smashbox redness primer is even better than this. As for blurring, I did a half face comparison with cover fx blurring primer. and Tula left my face with texture whereas cover fx made it super smooth.
The color is a grey white when it comes out but turns orange on the skin. If you do not apply it carefully you will end up with orange streaks is you are Snow White pale. But when applied well, my nc10 foundation didn’t reveal any extra orange.
The texture of the product was ok, possibly hydrating, but that’s about all. This has been so hyped I’d love to know who actually bought it, and how it worked for them. Because for me, a complete fail.
Skin type: pale, dry combo, mild eczema and rosacea, 40’s.

Our face primer consists of 3 weightless, ultra-blurring spheres in water-base formula, which fight your biggest skin concerns. The skin looks flawless, yet feels refreshed and light. Dermatologists and allergies tested.
Suitable for sensitive skin and all skin types. Does not close the holes.
I got this in Clear, number 400. Nice soft silky texture, almost like a serum but not. Sinks into skin easily. Is hydrating but not greasy. Didn’t make my makeup seperate. Hydrated under my matte foundation, making my foundation not dry and cakey looking.
Didn’t break me out, so it has gentle ingridents. Feels light on the skin like you’re not wearing anything. Has no scent. Didn’t exactly blur pores or make my complextion/skin texture look fantastic, but looked better than without the primer.
The price is reasonable. I love that it’s clear because I have a dye allergy to colored products. I don’t like how it’s not packaged in plastic and anyone can open it and use it in stores, which they do.
A little doesn’t go a long way but the product doesn’t run out super fast.
You’d think by the age of 40 I would have used a primer by now. But nope, fresh out of the gate newb. Again I believe I did some research (YouTubing) on this and primers in general. Which ones were the best and then looked for dupes of the best.
I had always heard of primer but I figured it’s main use was to make makeup last longer and usually I’m only wearing it for a handful of hours at night so I don’t need it for regular day use. But then when I googled if it helped your face look better too or if makeup applied better/looked better w it, it said it did.
So I went on the hunt. I’m pretty sure this was a dupe for smash box. It’s nearly gone, but I got a new primer to help more w hydration. Altho when I put this in I guess they have a hydration formula too, so I might have to check that out eventually when my neutrogena hydro boost serum is gonezo.
I have a really hard time finding a good primer. High end or low end, it doesn’t matter. It’s still a struggle. Either it doesn’t mesh well with my moisturizer or the foundation itself. But THIS IS AMAZING.
Doesn’t make my makeup patchy, streaky, clogs my pores, dries my skin out, make it oily, or peels the foundation. It meshes so well with all of my makeup. I’ll use cream and powder products and it holds everything in places for 12+ hours.
Doesn’t make my acne flare up either. Very happy to find a new favorite and at a great price.
RRP 17. 95 each No mess, no fuss, no pores. Maybelline’s Master Blue Stick Pore Minimizing Tinted Primer is a quick and simple way to smooth out the skin and prepare your complexion for immaculate makeup application.
In a swift blurring action, this primer creates the illusion of poreless skin to ensure that your foundation goes on evenly and perfectly. Universal shade.
I recently cleared up my skin and decided I needed to invest in better quality make up. While the make up was amazing, I wasn’t impressed with their $25 primer I bought. I bought 4 different types and decided to experiment with each one.
I have combination skin (mainly oily), large pores and acne prone. I exfoliated my skin, applied my acne medicine then followed it with this primer stick. I looooved the results! It blurred so well! I washed my hands.
applied a small amount on the face and used my fingers to spread it out a little more. My roommate saw each look, without knowing what I was doing. It wasn’t until I used this one did she tell me my make up looked amazing and whatever I did differently definitely works! Great results for $5 compared to $25? Yes please !!!!.
I love this primer! I’ve used it with Fenty matchstick & laura mercier tinted moisturizer. I do not want a lot of coverage so for “everyday” I use this on its own. My skin is clear except for a little texture, dryness, under eye bags, and redness.
This pretty much takes care of all of that and I end up with a natural look, that fills in any creases, makes my under eye look less puffy, and has a little pigmentation to reduce some redness. Most foundations look dry or flaky on me so I prefer moisturizing or satin finish products.
This doesn’t feel moisturizing but it looks smooth and doesn’t feel drying. It requires minimal pressure to blend it out. It has some build-ability so when i put on extra under my eyes it doesn’t get clumpy.
It seems to even work by stippling with a fluffy foundation brush to “melt” it into the skin. I’m not sure how this will work for oily skin or if you like a full coverage foundation.
I prefer liquid primers, but this is a great stick for travel. I hardly ever check bags when I fly, so I’m always on the lookout for great products that cut down on my liquid allotment. I bought this stick specifically for a summer backpacking trip around the U.
K. Between high temps, stuff trains, and long treks with my backpack, I wanted something that would hold my makeup on without getting too shiny. It went on very smoothly and I could definitely feel and see a difference in how my skin and makeup looked at the end of the day when I used it compared to when I did not.
The only problem I encountered was the stick itself getting warped. The stick started twisting out crooked and getting caught in the threads. I had to be careful when putting it on my face so it wouldn’t break off.
Not a huge deal, since I used my fingers to smooth it over my face anyway, but a little annoying because little pieces would sometimes crumble off and get on my stuff whenever I opened the stick.
This skin-quenching primer prepares the skin so makeup goes on easier and lasts longer. It also helps maintain skin’s youthful appearance and minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines while bringing out your natural radiance.
DETAILS A skin-quenching primer that prepares the skin so makeup goes on more easily and lasts longer. Helps the skin to hold on to more of its own moisture. Smoothes, brightens and nourishes skin. Minimizes the appearance of pores and visibly reduces the appearance of wrinkles.
HOW TO USE Apply a pea-sized amount all over the face using fingers until absorbed.
I received this primer at the start of a few weeks of fabulous cool weather here in South Florida. I really liked it at first. It does need a few minutes to sit on your skin before you apply foundation, but I found that if I applied the primer first, then did my eye makeup, then moved onto foundation it did the trick.
Unfortunately the last couple days the heat and humidity have been creeping back up and Smooth Affair is not performing as well under these conditions. My face is getting shiny after a couple hours and I notice that by around 3:00 the texture of my makeup looks different (for the worse).
If you live somewhere with less humidity/real seasons/cold weather I think Smooth Affair is probably a great option for a fall/winter primer. As far as price is concerned, at first I thought this was a bit expensive, but now that I realize how much product you get for $50, I actually think it’s a good value.
All in all, I prefer Benefit’s The Porefessional (which I had been using previously), so I’ll probably be returning to that. For reference – I’m 27 years old with combination, olive/medium toned skin.
Finding this product has been a real game changer for me. I’ve been using the Pure Pressed Mineral Foundation for years, but thought it might be a little “cakey” looking on me. I loved it and didn’t want to give it up, but switched to the Glow Time foundation and this face primer.
I decided to use Smooth Affair under the Pure Pressed Mineral Foundation and found that the powder foundation looked even better! I now have 2 foundations that both look great after applying Smooth Affair.
I’m a long-time fan of JI products, especially the pure pressed minerals = THE BEST!! I would be happier with this primer if it didn’t include fragrance and essential oils. Here’s why: I really feel the scents are a wonderful aromatherapy component to products for those with skin that’s impervious to those elements.
But I doubt that’s the majority. I know I’d be a fan of this primer but for this issue. The finish and texture of this primer is lovely though.
A non-greasy, lightweight makeup primer with light-infused pigments and four nourishing oils that blur imperfections and smooths the look of skin. Skin Type: Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily Highlighted Ingredients: – Corn Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Passiflora oil, and Rice Bran Oil: Nurture and leave skin feeling soft.
Ingredient Callouts: Free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, and phthalates.
I had got 2 sample bottles from an online purchase I made and I set them in my primer drawer for whenever I needed a new one. Well the last two months (Since my birthday Sept. 20th) I have been buying and trying a bunch of different foundations, my skin has changed a-lot over the last year and it made my Base application go on bad.
My skin was always oily and now its combo but with bad dry patches and very oily T Zone. And I tried so many foundations and I hate returning things but no matter what I tried as a primer nothing looked right.
Then I tried this magic potion aka Eclat Blur Primer and Had I used it during my foundation escapade, I might have liked them had I thought to try it sooner. This primer is magic in a bottle, in my opinion.
I only used one sample bottle and I knew I couldn’t go without it now that I fell in love… I don’t want to breakup lol. So I made a purchase at Sephora before their sale ended. I did an exchange of the newest Pat McGrath palette, I hadn’t touched it (didn’t swatch it) it was part of an online order I had done in the middle of the night- last month.
So I never wanted it didn’t remember buying it (and other items too). Luckily they told me that it would go through an inspection to determine if they would toss it or put out to be sold or made into the stores sample.
She told me it passed. So with the $78 credit I bought few things and got the VIB Rouge discount and snatched this primer up right away, it was the last 1 in store too. My total after the credit + discount + gift card I had= I paid $4 difference, And walked out happy.
This Primer makes my skin feel and loom smoother than a babies bottom. My skin looked plump and youthful, and my foundation looks amazing. It has made me put on makeup more the last two wks than I have in a Year.
Theirs no dry patches anymore, my pores are hardly noticeable, it has a beautiful lit from within glow, it looks defused, its Non-comedogenic! Perfection in a bottle….
Okay, so I felt like this product deserved at least a couple stars, because it did have a pretty finish under my makeup; however, this wasn’t a great experience for me… thus my 2-star rating. I’m not a huge fan of the silicone-feel that so many primers have, and always find myself steering away from silicone slip and over to the creamy/putty-type options that seem to grip your makeup a little more.
Unfortunately, this product gave me the worst reaction. I don’t typically have sensitive or irritated skin – in fact, I can usually be a little tougher on my skin, because I have built up tolerance to acids and chemical peels over the years (I’m a stylist, esthetician, and salon owner, so I’m hooked on skincare!).
This primer left my skin actually feeling painful after just one use. My skin did not LOOK raw, but it felt it even basic, soothing moisturizers and post-peel/chemical soothing regimen didn’t calm to stinging for a few days.
Also, even though I initially liked the look of the primer and how my makeup wore on top of it, I noticed that throughout the day, my makeup just didn’t last. It seemed as if my foundation just slid off my skin left my contour/blush areas feeling a bit muddy because the foundation was migrating.
It was coming off onto EVERYTHING – phone, clothes, hands, etc. – and caused me more issues than I would’ve had just going in without anything – even without moisturizer – to prep the skin. I liked this idea of this product, and honestly WANTED to love it as much as I love so many other Yves Saint Laurent cosmetic products, but this one fell flat for me.
I attempted one other time to try it again with a water-based foundation and very minimal, clean products in combination in case it was reacting to something else I was using alongside of it, but I had the exact same experience.
At least my wallet is happy that I didn’t love it, and I’ll go back to my ride-or-die Elf Putty Primer that never fails me! The YSL Touche Éclat Blur Primer is B E A U T I F U L in the bottle, but it will remain just a piece of decor for my vanity, collecting dust, but looking cute!.
I use primer as my final skincare step every day, especially if I don’t plan to wear makeup that day. It’s an opportunity to help my skin look it’s best in it’s natural state. This primer is truly lovely for that purpose.
It’s a smoothing primer what helps blur pores for a radiant finish, which it does well. It does have the ingredient which can commonly cause primers like this to pill, dimethicone, which means you must be aware of what products you’re pairing it with, or your makeup will pill.
If you can deal with that possibility, this is a nice, if fairly spendy, product. Yves Saint Laurent is also not a cruelty free company, which disappoints me. That being said, if you’re not concerned about those two points, this is a very nice option as a primer.
If those are issues for you, there are plenty of other fish in the primer sea. Go forth and snag one of those instead.
This innovative primer blurs the look of skin for a soft-focus effect. Infused with Microalgae and Blurring Powders, the primer conditions skin over time for improved look and texture and absorbs excess oil while providing a mattifying effect.
” Primers are indispensable – They seal in Skincare and protect the skin while preparing the face for makeup. ” – How to use: Apply after skincare. Gently massage a dime-sized amount onto skin with fingertips.
I want to write this review because I notice other reviews not knowing how to apply the primer correctly and claim it peel or flake or cakey. Instruction on the box always advocate apply primer first then follow concealer and foundation, any makeup artist who has good real life experience will tell u otherwise.
Instruction comes as a guide, u don’t have to follow the exact steps. To make full use of this primer, just apply your concealer and foundation right after your moisturizer or sunscreen, use the primer as “last step” before powder setting.
In fact a lot of time I skip setting powder because the primer act as blurring and finishing touch, I simply brush bronzer or highlighter around my face to finish it off to have a dewy and natural radiance.
To apply the primer after foundation/concealer, first squeeze a tiny amount approx 1cm dot on palm and rub to slightly warm up the primer (don’t rub too long as it dries up quickly) and then “very lightly” Pat onto the face, very gently and lightly pressed on so that it doesn’t smear your foundation/concealer.
Just 2-3 firmed pressed, is all you need and that’s it, done! The primer can prolong your makeup whole day without even the need to blot your face (unless u have super oily skin then maybe just need to touch up once).
For the oily area say nose bridge, u can again warm very tiny bit with fingers, and Pat on 2nd time (with finger tips if on the nose) it u need extra strength to control oil. If u notice slight white patch, just slightly brush off with powder brush or gently wipe with powder puff.
This way, u will have the perfect skin look with this primer. And I hate writing this comment because I don’t want this item to be out of stock in future but then I feel for the girls who do not know how to use the primer and wrote a bad review abt this product.
So to be fair, this is a great product with the right use.
If you’re as fed up with all this humidity as I am, and your makeup constantly sliding off your face, you need this Laura Mercier Primer – unbelievable. Yes, it is on the expensive side, but it is a really generous size and I have found I need only use a small amount for it to be 100% effective at holding my makeup.
I use liquid foundation, so I do have trouble with it not staying in place when the weather is really warm. I am 56 years old, and I wear makeup every day – I like to have products that I can rely on well.
This product is just magic. It is a nice consistency, more of a cream than a gel, and it is just white. I use an amount the size of a small pill on my forehead and each cheek and chin, and just blend it in over my moisturiser (after letting my moisturiser settle in for a few minutes first).
You can feel straight away that the primer has gone into your skin and left your skin feeling “not slippery” at all – so you have confidence straight away that your foundation will sit really well. It has instantly become one of my Absolutely Must Haves amongst my beauty favourites, and I know I will continue to buy this product.
The product doesn’t have any noticeable smell – just a very gentle, subtle fragrance which is barely discernible. I love this!.
I was so excited to try this primer, specifically for its blurring claims. I have major textured skin with very large pores that have morphed from round to oval as my skin ages. The first time I tried this primer, it actually made my pores look more noticeable! I figured that I had to have done something wrong along the way because this product has such great reviews and no one would really look worse AFTER using the product right? So I shoved it in a drawer for months and I just found it again this week.
I remembered my initial experience so I made sure I was well moisturized, only used a pea size amount, and wore a different foundation. I got the exact same results. I don’t even know how it’s possible for the product to do the EXACT opposite of what it claims.
I was shocked. The only thing that saved this was so powder puff applied setting powder, smashed in even more with a beauty blender. And that was just to get my pores back to looking like they do without makeup! Anyway, I’ll be sticking with my purple Smashbox primer and my drugstore L’Oréal infallible one in the white tube.
Achieve a smooth, flawless complexion with Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer; the brand’s best-selling, award-winning formula to perfect the appearance of skin. Melting effortlessly onto skin, the transparent, oil-free gel enhances makeup application and wear, whilst blurring visible pores, fine lines and imperfections for an even, picture-perfect canvas.
Defends against pollutants, stress and environmental aggressors with an antioxidant blend of peptides and vitamins A and E. Photo Finish Primer has had a makeover! It’s the same formula you’ve always loved, just with a fresh new look.
I didn’t like this when I was first learning how to apply makeup, but I’m really glad that I kept it. I think this primer works best when you’ve learned exactly how much foundation you need to apply in order to achieve the look you want.
It allows you to apply product smoothly while also ensuring a smooth transition between the texture of your product and any skin that you aren’t putting foundation on. I will say, as someone with oily skin, I don’t find this to be great for oil control.
However, I have other products (mainly setting powder) that work way better for me personally than even the best oil-control primers, so that doesn’t bother me very much. The only other caveat I want to mention is that because this product is silicone-based, it doesn’t play well with some foundations.
This is formulation dependent, so make sure to either test the primer + foundation combo on the back of your hand first or mix them together to see if you get any pilling, lumpiness, or weird textural stuff before you commit to a full look.
I’ve been using Jane Iredale Smooth Affair for about 10 years after getting a sample and really loving it but I wanted to try something different because my skin has changed and I’ve just changed makeup types.
I saw someone recommending this and thought I’d give it a go so purchased the mini size and I really like it. It takes a little longer to dry ready for makeup than my old one but it keeps my makeup fresh and natural looking all day even after my lunch time workouts.
And most importantly it doesn’t irritate my skin or cause breakout (I have sensitive skin so tend to find what works and stick to it). I will buy a full size one when my mini one finishes and I need more.
Currently I’m using it on my T-zone to control shine and still using my old one on my cheeks but will probably just switch to this when I’m out of the JI one. Definately recommend this for anyone active, during hot weather and high humidity and if more shine control is needed especially on the t-zone.
This clear face primer gel smoothes skin’s appearance and blurs flaws. It was developed to help makeup look better and last longer on set. Photo Finish Primers got a makeover! It’s the same formula you’ve always loved, just with a fresh new look.
Now it’s easier than ever to find a primer that’s perfect for your skin needs. The Proof Is In The Primer! A lightweight, soft focus primer that blurs the appearance of pores, fine lines, and other imperfections for ultra-smooth airbrushed skin. Blur, smooth, and diffuse the look of imperfections with Cover FX’s Blurring Primer.
This silky smooth primer instantly minimizes the look of pores, fine lines, and unwanted texture for a flawlessly smooth complexion. Light Diffusing Technology works to help reduce the appearance of pores and fine lines, while Vitamin E promotes antioxidant protection against free radicals.
Just use it underneath your makeup to achieve a smooth canvas for a seamless foundation application, over makeup as an instant retouching balm, or wear it alone for a soft-focus, airbrushed effect.
Underwhelming. Like the other reviews, when it’s suchhhh a good brand, like Cover FX, you only expect products that wow you. This product doesn’t do that. It’s just okay. It’s unscented, so if you’re not into strong scents, this could work.
It does pill a little under makeup because it’s so tacky/gel-like. To avoid this, you really have to work it into the skin. I wouldn’t say it is a mousse. I lean towards combo/oily skin and this doesn’t make me shiny, but it does give you a more dewy sheen than anything, so if you want a matte look, I wouldn’t reach for this.
I much prefer Ole Henriksen’s Banana Bright primer and found myself grabbing that over this. I will say I like that this is focused on fighting blue light and urban free radicals because I’m in front of a computer for work 24/7.
But did I notice any visible difference to my skin? Not really.
One of my friends bought this for me to try out and ended up LOVING it! At first I was a little turned off by the texture when it first comes out, but rubbing it between your fingers before applying to your face really helped that out.
I love how it’s tinted so it helps blur imperfections even better and as someone with combination skin that tends to get oily mid-day, this really helped keep that under control. It makes your face super soft (not greasy like some blurring primers) and really helps your makeup just glide right on.
I actually found that I don’t have to use as much foundation with this primer either. Overall, I absolutely recommend this product. It’s very reasonably priced for a prestige cosmetic at $35 and feel that it’s 100% worth it.
I know I’ve watched many reviews on YouTube from my favorite beauty gurus about how bad Silicone based primers are for your face and that they obstruct your pores or don’t allow make-up to really set in with your skin.
Given that I’m 41 and past my acne prone days, (which was horrible) and that I’ve tried thousands of make-up and skin products, I’ve not once seen anything bad happen to my skin when using. I’ve also tried several blurring primers and Smashbox pore reducer primer used to be my favorite.
That is until I purchased this on a whim from Ulta. This primer is my absolute favorite one out there. I’ve bought it repeatedly and don’t even mind the price point because it’s that’s good. I have normal to sometimes dry skin (especially with the use of retinol) that is fair with a nice even complexion.
I am 41 so my skin does have signs of aging and I don’t like the appearance of my pores on my cheek area. Not only does this primer smooth over my pores to create a nice smooth canvas it also smoothed out my fine lines enough that they are very barely noticeable.
I even sometimes skip foundation all together because this primer makes my skin look so smooth, even and luminous on its own. It’s truly a must have/holy grail product for me. My foundation/make-up look beautiful on top of this primer and it makes my skin feel very soft, smooth and hydrated.

I’m shook with this primer, ever since I received it, I can’t stop using it. This primer literally does it all! It completely evens my skin, has helped with keeping it moist and has just enough shine to look dewey.
I have so many pore filling primers but this one hands down leaves my skin pore free, I also have one smile Line more prominent than the other one and omg it covered like no primer has ever done. The only thing I would change would the applicator but it’s not a deal breaker to me, you just gotta be careful with it or else you’ll be buying this every month, other than that this is perfection in a bottle.
Will definitely be buying it. How to Use Apply to clean, moisturized skin prior to makeup application. Can also be added to your foundation or layered under powder highlighters for an instant boost of radiance and all over the body for a healthy, glowing appearance from head to toe.
This is gonna be a long one, fair warning. But I really want to paint the full picture here. Disclaimer: I did purchase a bottle yesterday, but thus far my only usage of this product has been from samples.
I really need to emphasize here that I’d fully given up on primers, they didn’t work for me. I tried every type imaginable at the insistence of MUAs/gurus swearing their makeup looks better and lasts longer, but that was never my experience.
I tried hydrating, pore filling, anti aging. I tried liquids, creams and balms. I tried super popular kinds from Milk and e. l. f. Not ONE made any of my foundations look better or last longer. In fact I experienced pilling up no matter how I applied, and if anything my makeup broke down faster.
On days I work, I stick with tried and true products I know work for me. On my days off though, I’ll experiment with new things. I had a few samples of this stuff in a vanity drawer and figured, why the heck not? Tbh at first I was really scared.
I wasn’t expecting the pearlescent glow at all. I thought for sure my makeup would slide off within 3 hours. But I went ahead and applied my 4-in-1 foundation. I typically don’t check my appearance throughout the day, so at the end of the night when I went to wash my face I was genuinely shocked at how pretty my makeup still looked after a full 9+ hour day of errands and kids.
Was it 100% still intact, no. But compared to the usual breakdown, the improvement was insane. I tried it again on a work day, which is significantly more trying, and the result was just as impressive (especially wearing a mask the entire time!).
This primer also worked just as well with my other go-to foundation, but a couple of other ones it doesn’t. That’s perfectly fine with me though!.
This primer is really different from other primers that I’ve used. It’s really runny but still very effective. It isn’t clear like most primers. It’s a pearly milky white color. Once it rubs in, it leaves a beautiful light highlighter glow look to my skin.
It’s actually really gorgeous. It moisturizes very well. It’s not greasy or oily. It doesn’t leave my skin looking like it has vaseline on it. It blurs right over all my imperfections. It looks really good by itself without makeup over it.
My foundation applies so much smoother over this primer. The primer blurs my pores so when I wear foundation over it, I can’t see my pores at all. My foundation doesn’t lift or bubble either. I really like applying a little of this primer over my foundation, under my highlighter.
It helps the highlight stay in place and it makes my skin glow that much more. It actually works well for a lid primer too. My shadows stay in place much better and much longer. This primer doesn’t dry out my skin or irritate it.
It doesn’t burn my eyes either. I have somewhat sensitive skin and I haven’t had any problems with this primer. My foundation looks stunning on camera with this primer under it. My bare skin with this primer on looks drop dead gorgeous on camera too.
The shimmer in it catches the flash of the camera just right. So all in all this is my new favorite primer. It’s an amazing product from an excellent brand. I think this primer would look great on any skin tone or type.
Get your skin ready for long-lasting makeup perfection with Image Skincare Prime Flawless Blur Gel. This face primer can mask the fine lines and wrinkles associated with aging skin, leaving you with a smooth base for your makeup application.
This primer is great for all skin types. Just apply it to clean skin to lock in moisture before you use your foundation for camera-ready makeup that lasts all day. Age Group: adult.
This is the worst product that I’ve ever purchased from Image! I had an event to go to and thought that this would give me a nice base for my concealer/foundation. Boy, was I wrong! I put it on and immediately my skin went from glowing from the C serum to looking dull and matt.
Things only got worse when I put on the concealer: The I Prime blur gel started coming off and looking like my skin was peeling. I tried this twice and had the same experience. I’d really like my money back.

I received this product from Sephora Collection in exchange for my honest review. and I have to say that this is an amazing primer in comparison to more pricey options on the market and for the Sephora Collection! I liked that this product was fragrance free and Vegan; truly made my skin feel silky with a beautiful, blurred natural base before I applied my makeup.
I have combination skin – and this product made my makeup last throughout the day and look as if I just applied my makeup 5-minutes ago by the end of the day. I also love that there is Gingko Extract and Vitamin E – protecting my skin from environmental factors – which is something I’ve recently been looking more into when deciding on products I want to use on a daily basis.
The price is great for the quality and amount of product you’re getting, and feels like a luxe makeup product. I have even mixed this with my sunscreen and love the way it makes my skin look. This is my new favorite primer and my makeup looks so much better now that I have implemented this product into my daily routine.
Sephora Collection gifted me this product in exchange for my honest opinion and here it is. This primer is actually amazing. Usually, when I put makeup over my skin, it always ends up looking too flaky.
I have dermatitis that makes it very hard to try and find the right products for my makeup looks. As a makeup artist, you can see how frustrating that must be. When I was gifted the Smooth + Blur Primer, I tried it on myself before trying it on any clients (as I wasn’t ready to implement it into my routine without fully knowing the results/application first) and I don’t think I will use any other primer from now on out.
My skin didn’t look dry AT ALL. The makeup sat on my face and actually felt like my own skin. I didn’t look cakey even after putting on the same amount of foundation I usually use and it actually made my skin feel/look better from using it as my base formula.
My foundation application was smoother and it lasted longer than usual with no smudges. 5/5 stars, honestly. I’d give more if I could.
Sephora Collection gifted me to this product, but the opinions are completely my own based on my experience. The Smooth Blur Primer, I would recommend to literally all of my friends! My favorite way to test out new primers, is to do my entire makeup routine and take selfies with the back camera flash on to see if it looks good, AND MIGHT I JUST SAY THIS MADE MY SKIN LOOKING SMOOTH LIKE I’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE, normally when I take selfies using my back camera my pores look huge, and if I haven’t put color corrector on before my foundation you will see my imperfections, however, with this I didn’t need to put color corrector on, this instantly smooths out your skin and makes it camera ready, plus it durable and stays on for hours on end with any smudging, which is great for me because I wear glasses sometimes and I’m left disappointed when my glasses smudge my nose wiping some of my makeup away, but not with this! I have literally started using this every-time I do my makeup now, I absolutely am in awe, and would recommend this product to everyone :).
Use Face Primer before foundation for a flawless application. Face Primer creates an even, ideal canvas for foundation by blurring fine lines and visible pores so that foundation goes on looking porcelain smooth.
I should start by saying I don’t usually have oily skin. I tried this primer during a bout of intense oil production due to dehydration. This product will soak up all your oil — that promise is fulfilled! However, I found it left me feeling like I was wearing a clay mask on my face all day.
Perhaps someone with even oilier skin would love this product. Recently, I have been using a dab as a base for my eyeshadow primer. I have extra oily eyelids and a hooded lid, so shadows don’t like to stay on.
Due to the price I wouldn’t recommend buying it for that purpose, though.
Over priced tinted silicone primer which has awful unrealistic skin shades and balls up when used in conjunction with water based products. Total waste of money. If using for the spf properties I would advise spending your money on an spf with good quality skin identical ingredients.
Blurring, smoothing, line filling, perfection. Great base to a little concealer and blush! Does not provide coverage so much as it just blurs imperfections so I spot conceal afterwards and am out the door!.

A little goes a long way! It is ture to its name! The only product that has instantly improved the look/size of my pores. I use it on my nose, apple of my cheeks and between my brows/middle of my forehead (areas in which my pores are large).
A little bit about my skin type. I am a fair skinned, Hispanic. I have sensitive, dry skin year round. Heavy, cheap, synthetic and heavly artificially scented products cause me to get headaches, breakout or burn my skin.
This is lightly fragranced, light in texture and wears well with zero irritation. It can be used under makeup without making you greasy looking or my favorite, use it barefaced. It’s a small tube but again, a little goes a long way and it works! Glad I treated myself!.
Love this primer so much! I got a free sample and bought it the next day. It goes on like a moisturiser so when I first used it I thought there’s no way it would reduce shine and pores. But within seconds it mattifies your skin and smooths pores.
It’s like magic. Makeup goes on flawlessly over the top of it. It is perfumed but that’s okay with me and I really like the smell.
Smooth satin finish that makes your foundation last longer. Hides pores and gives an amazing base for your foundation. The only downfall is that if you’re like me and touch your face constantly, it gives off a powdery feel to your hands.

~Under(cover) blurring coconut face primer by @marcjacobsbeauty $39 “This lightweight blurring primer extends makeup wear and features five forms of coconut to help nourish and smooth the complexion, in a universal shade.
It controls shine without making skin feel dry or overly matte and creates a perfectly prepped canvas for foundation. ” My opinion: This primer is so relaxed to use! I feel like this is hydrating for my skin also.
It does go matte but it does not make my skin feel dry. The smells is so natural and totally not heavy. What I do find hard is that it does not with every foundation. See a list below on which foundations it works! So yeah overall I am so happy with this primer! #marcjacobstreats.
This is a really nice primer for ppl who have large pores and texture on their skin. This is a silicone primer but it feels different then others I’ve tried. Its not slippery when applying its more soft and it dries down quickly to almost a powder like finish but its not powdery.
Its hard to explain. Its very unique. It fills pores and minimizes any texture. Because of how it dries down it works great for absorbing oil and keeping the shine away through out the day. I use this mainly on my t-zone.
It gives me a Great base to apply the rest of my makeup on and things don’t slide around like they do with other silicone primers. Everything stays right where I put it. I think it helps my makeup last longer as well.
I think I like this blurring primer a lot! It minimizes pores and texture really well and doesn’t feel heavy. I didn’t notice much of a scent. If it has a scent it’s very very light. It didn’t break me out or irritate my skin in any way and it is very comfortable.
I would recommend this primer for pores, texture, and oily/combo skin.
How to start? I had very high expectations for this one but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. This primer is clear, dense, very soft and creamy in consistency, smells amazing “like vanilla coconut” but felt like pure silicone and super greasy on my face “not hydrating or moisturizing or oily but greasy to a point I can feel my pores being blocked (if you know what I mean)”.
Its sad because on its own this primer makes my skin look beautiful, matte and it does smooth the appearance of my pores. Ironically even though my face looks matte this primer has a weird dry down, at least on me, it dries down a bit powdery in some areas but the greasy silicone texture stays and it moves around even with makeup on, “I guess maybe the intention was to keep it sticky so makeup would grab in to it better” but in my unfortunate experience I think this is its disadvantage.
No matter how I prepare my face, what makeup tools I use or how long I wait and let it seat in to my skin the greasy silicone texture never subsides and it moves around to much making my makeup application patchy.

I’ve been using this primer for about a week now and I really like it! I don’t like using silicone based products because they normally break me out. I was so excited about this one being silicone free.
I’ve used it under a few different foundations and I feel like it has been helping keep me hydrated without getting greasy or feeling heavy. It does break up a little quicker under my glasses because it’s so hydrating but everything usually does so I don’t hold it against the product.
It’s made my nose look smoother and has kept it from cracking on my smile lines and the sides of my nose. Overall I’m very happy with it and can’t wait to continue using it into the fall and winter when I get drier.
I love this primer! It claims to reduce texture, pores, and hydrate. There was a decent amount of texture reduction and pore blurring, and my fave never felt dry with this on. My makeup did look really good.
The thing that I’m super impressed with though is the longevity! I put makeup on around 4 pm, went to a concert at 7, left at 11, got home at 12, and had “alone time” with my husband and when I looked in the mirror after I was shocked by how amazing my makeup looked.
After all of that my makeup should have been gone but it was perfect! I’m so impressed that I never want to be without this stuff. Highly recommend for makeup longevity! Great product!.
I had high hopes for this product but it doesn’t work for me as well I’d wanted it to. I have combo/oily skin and very large/prominent pores on the tip of my nose, sides of my cheeks that meet my nose, and part of my forehead so for me a pore filling/smoothing primer is a must under foundation.
I would love for a silicone-free primer to perform as well as a silicone-based one but this just doesn’t. Don’t get me wrong, it definitely does some smoothing and I love the feel and how it’s actually hydrating where most silicone-based products aren’t.
I think if you don’t have very prominent pores to begin with you’d like this primer very much. But for anyone whose skin type is like my own this probably won’t be quite what you need.

I used the primer without makeup, this was the first time I used it. Although I can’t rate it with makeup just yet I thought it went on very easily on top of my Honest Moisturizer. I feel like it helped control the oil and made my skin feel smoother.
I was a little hesitant to try because my family is allergic to celery but topically doesn’t seem to be an issue for me. I will write another review when I try it with foundation or tinted moisturizer.
Currently trying to decide on either Honest Company or Thrive since I’m trying both brands out. I used to use Elta MD based on a recommendation of Plastics for preventing skin cancer.
I love Thrive’s products and what they stand for so I was super excited to move all my products to this brand. When I tried this primer, the results were instant. My pores appeared smaller, skin was less shiny, and overall complexion looked even.
The next day I woke up with a huge white head on my cheek. While I do have large pores and oily skin, I never have break outs so this was super weird. I thought maybe it was a coincidence. I used it again and the next day woke up with another huge white head.
I didn’t use it for a few days to see if my skin calmed down and it did. I tried using the primer again last night and woke up today with 3 huge white heads so it’s official that this primer is the culprit and I’m super sad about it.
Not sure why my skin is reacting this way but I’m guessing the way it’s able to achieve the matte look with smaller pores is essentially by clogging them however I have other blurring primers that my skin reacts better to.
I have extremely oily skin even in my 50’s. I have been searching for a primer to keep my oiliness to a minimum. I found an amazing one but unfortunately it is not with Thrive. Thrive Blurring Primer enhanced the oil on my face and enlarged my pours.
I ran out of the “amazing” primer and thought I would try Thrive again. My face feels like I washed it in oil. If anyone is interested my forever primer will be Hourglass. I’m going to stick to the brightening eye shadows with Thrive Causemetics and nothing more.

I am honestly shocked because I had such high expectations for this product. And what’s weird is, when it arrived and I first tested it out just on its own, I was pretty happy with the outcome. It felt hydrating, and since I used a foundation brush to blend, I did see some blurring effect.
It also felt slightly tacky, in a moisturised kind of way, which I thought would be great since it meant whatever goes on top would stay put. However, I finally got to use it to do a full look, where I did my eyes first, followed by complexion.
I laid the primer down again with a brush, waited a little, then applied my foundation with a brush. I use Giorgio Armani luminous silk. And. My jaw literally dropped. Instead of smoothing over beautifully as it always does, the foundation got all patchy and weird on me, highlighting EVERY PORE, kind of floating on top of my skin.
Super gross. I quickly removed that hot mess using coconut oil on a contour sponge, avoiding the hard work on my eyes, and baby-wiped it all clean. I then went back to my tried and true Supergloop sunscreen which is a FANTASTIC primer, and my Armani foundation went on as its namesake – silk.
I have heard that this foundation does not pair well with expensive primers, but it’s still incredibly annoying when I paid so much for what ought to be a product that works, from a reputable brand, for it to fail so miserably and add another 20 minutes to my get-ready.
So, I guess if you’re using this primer just on its own, maybe use a little concealer, and finish with a translucent powder, then it’s a decent product. However, and maybe this applies only to Armani’s foundation, I wouldn’t recommend using it as an actual primer for laying fluid foundation over.
I was recommended this primer by one of the Sephora employees. His literal words were ‘there’s no way back after you try this’. I went home and tried it and IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. I have combination skin (really oily T-Zone while I have really dry under-eye are and eyelids) and this primer really hydrates my dry areas while it seals the oily ones.
It does have an overpowering scent that I hate but it vanishes really quick as it dries on your face. It makes your makeup truly last til the end of the day. It feels really light on the skin and lets it breathe, and it also makes your face look extra radiant and luminous.
After finding out Guerlain wasn’t cruelty-free I decided to find a dupe for this primer and after trying countless of highly-rated and recommended primers I could not find a primer that was so versatile and good as this one.
I usually ADORE Guerlain face products, and although I did like this product, it didn’t blow me out of the water. I find that this primer is more smoothing than blurring. It didn’t do much for my pores, and as my pores aren’t quite noticeable anyway I feel like anyone with larger pores wouldn’t really benefit from this product.
I do love the way it acted as a veil over my skin, making it super smooth and almost air brushed looking. My makeup glided on top beautifully, and the primer really did grip my makeup in place all day.
The scent wasn’t too overpowering, as it can be with a lot of designer cosmetics, it was a nice clean scent honestly. I do like this product and will continue to use it, however I think I will opt for a different Guerlain primer once I have finished this one.
The conclusion of blurring primer for mature skin is that it can help smooth out the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving the skin a more youthful appearance. It can also help makeup go on more smoothly, making it a good option for those who want to minimize the appearance of their imperfections.
