So immediately after receiving my stand mixer, I checked the bowl height using the flat beater and the dime test and it failed miserably. I attempted to adjust the height but KitchenAid apparently must set their units to what they feel is the appropriate height and the adjustment screw already adjusted to it’s uppermost height, so I couldn’t adjust the bowl a little bit higher.
I immediately had to send it back and received my new one and did the same exact test. Now granted it is better than the first one, but the issue is that it could still use a slight bit of adjustment in the upwards direction.
But as per the first one, KitchenAid has set the adjustment screw already in the highest position possible thus leaving me with a semi-satisfied feeling. KitchenAid seriously needs to allow more adjustment height in either direction.
On top of that I feel that KitchenAid should also set the bowl height to its appropriate height and the adjustment screw should be in the middle, thus leaving some wiggle room both in the upward and downward bowl height adjustment.
I’m honestly not sure what to do at this point because everything I have read online points to the fact that overtime you will need to adjust your bowl height upwards and if I’m not able to currently adjust it upwards at all, then eventually I’m going to have an issue down the road.
So do I keep the current one and be semi-satisfied after paying over $600 or do I go through the hassle of having to ship back a second one? I’m really at a loss as I expected so much better out of this brand and it’s really left a bad taste in my mouth considering how many years I’ve wanted a KitchenAid mixer.
Now after finally scrounging up the money to purchase one, I’m not exactly left with that jumping up and down feeling of excitement and joy that I expected in looking forward to owning one.
I purchased a Proline Series 7 Quart Bowl Lift Stand Mixer in July of 2019. It failed about a year later – the speed control started to fail to allow certain speeds to work intermittently, then the mixer failed to work at at all.
Kitchenaid provided a replacement quickly. The replacement unit failed the same way in October 2021. A replacement unit took more than 2 months to arrive – and was replaced with a commercial 8 quart version.
I was warned that there would only be a 2 year warranty for the commercial unit. That unit also failed the same way as the first two units in September 2022. Given that I was making a wedding cake for my son’s wedding, I could not wait for a replacement unit.
I removed the case for the mixer and sprayed the switch on the speed control board with contact cleaner. That fixed the problem. The mixer is working fine again. The speed switch on the controller board is just a slider that rubs over printed circuit board contacts.
The contacts are not protected from the environment at all – and the motor has a fan the likely draws outside air across the circuit board. I do not use the mixer very often. I suspect that some oxidation or containment collects on the circuit board contacts, eventually causing the mixer to fail.
In any event, it is a poor design to have a switch that is exposed to the environment in a kitchen that might have grease, sugar, or flour particles floating in the air. It is hard to believe that this is not a problem for many of the newer KitchenAid mixers, as the DC motor models all use the same controller board.
A sealed switch would solve the problem and save both KitchenAid and their customers much grief. It is extremely annoying to have a mixer fail in the middle of preparing a cake for a wedding, or preparing a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.
I’ve managed through the decades with standard blenders, some higher end, some “Your mother’s $30 blender,” and it’s always the same: adequate for foods that are already soft–I mean, how hard is it to puree strawberries? My chief use for a blender is to make smoothies that contain a lot of ice.
My post-bike ride smoothie is mango puree, buttermilk and ice. It always takes several minutes, constantly stopping to redistribute the ice. and taking way too long for a smooth result. I’ve looked periodically for a really good blender but have balked at $400 price tags.
I finally found a blender that looked like it would kick smoothie butt; however, it was too tall to fit on top of the countertop and under the upper wall cabinets. Then I took a chance on this blender.
It’s a lot bigger than mom’s blender, but it fits in the standard space between counter and cabinets. I just gave it its first real trial, with 2 trays of ice cubes + mango + buttermilk. I played briefly with the pulse action but found that the slow-start to full-speed mechanism of the numbered settings worked even better.
It *appeared* that the mixture was blended within just a few seconds. I was skeptical, figuring there would be big chunks of ice when I poured it out. But NO! It was really perfectly blended to basically soft-serve consistency in a fraction of the time it took my old blender.
I can’t speak to longevity, of course, but if this holds up, it will be a great addition to the electronic kitchen slaves. And it looks pretty sharp on the counter, which is good because it’s awfully heavy to be moving it in and out of cabinet storage.
In summer, it will just live on my countertop. Nice job, Kitchenaid!.

I rarely write reviews, but I am so happy with my Vitamix that I had to share. I spent a lot of time looking at reviews before purchasing mine, so I am hoping this will help someone. My boyfriend, who was very much in the camp of “let’s buy a high-end cheap blender” (even after he watched all the video reviews with me) said the other day that he understood now that the Vitamix is not actually a blender; he said “it’s a serious piece of equipment”! So there you have it! It was worth putting my foot down on this one.
Also, I recommend buying the underblade scraper with it. I have had it for about 5 weeks now and I use it just about every day. I bought the Vitamix mainly for making the delicious soups I had tried before (made by friends’ Vitamixes) and to make smoothies/shakes.
I do enjoy using the pre-programmed setting for those: switch it on and walk away – awesome! Not only have I made soups and smoothies/shakes, but I have also made whole green juices (I can now have the whole stalk of celery instead of just the juice from it – fantastic!!), custard and mayo as well.
Some recipes take a little getting used to, because the Vitamix processes things differently, but with a little practice they turn out amazing! I went for this model (certified reconditioned – C-series w/ standard programs) because I don’t need it to do everything and I wasn’t going to fork out more money for the higher end ones.
I am really pleased with my purchase and I expect to be making delicious, nutritious and joy-bringing food with it for years to come!.
I brought a refurbished unit back in August 2017 and very pleased with how powerful this unit is. During the pandemic I tell my friends that the best kitchen appliance is my Vitamix. The container is the narrow 64 oz container and the narrow taller container produces a very creamy smoothie.
The unit is very powerful that ever adding in avocado pit you cannot tell as the pit is fully blended leaving no trace of the pit. Prior to owning a Vitamix I would throw away watermelon rind but most of nutrients in watermelon is the white rind, similarly, I use to throw away pineapple core, but the good nutrients are in the core.
During the pandemic having a daily smoothie has been our favorite drink. Vitamix customer service is the best and the five year warranty on refurbished unit is unbelievable. If you are concerned about refurbished or tall narrow container, the container is brand new and the motor looks great.
Thank you Vitamix for commitment to excellence and helping improve this family’s healthy living.

This also improves the blend, plus it lengthens the lifespan of the blender. A Different Class of Carafe Not only is the carafe engineered to create a controlled vortex that drives food into the stainless-steel blades, but it is also sized to fit your lifestyle.

Achieve a variety of textures with the variable-speed function that you can control and adjust anytime during the blending. Chunky soups, thick smoothie bowls, smooth and drinkable juices do it all! The Pulse features lets you add a coarse chop to your blends for heartier recipes like chunky salsa.

Made in the Usa, the Vitamix 5300 undergoes a meticulous 17-point inspection to ensure your blender performs for years to come.
By the time I was married, I had already owned more than a dozen blenders (Blender Queen, Breville, Cuisinart, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Oster, Vitamix, and Waring Commercial). I never owned–but have used–Blendtec machines.
Over the years and after thousands of blend cycles with the above mix of blenders, the Vitamix remains my top choice. My Vitamixes have been utterly dependable (going back to my 1974 Model 3600 that still works well); are backed by top customer service; are straightforward to use; and produce the best product, be it the smoothest of smoothies, cold and hot soups, chunky dips, nut butters, or perfectly pureed sauces that pass the sieve test.
I use my 5300 every day, and it never fails to impress, especially in an age of cheaply made, poorly performing appliances.
I’ve had my Vitamix for a couple of months and used it several times. The two soup recipes I have made were both delicious, and I like knowing what is and ISN’T in them. I also made the cookie recipe named after a famous store that needs the rolled oats to be blended.
Everything I have done with it has been simple and flawless, and cleaning it is as easy as it could possibly be. Mine is a refurbished one, and it looks perfect and works perfectly. I got the black one, and the front panel looks like stainless steel, so it coordinates nicely with the other kitchen items.
I really couldn’t be happier with the Vitamix, the savings for buying a refurbished one, and the ordering-delivery process. 5 stars and and thumbs up from me!.

I bought the blender in October 2019. We are using the blender every day for our smoothies. I use the large 2. 1l jug so I can make the smoothies to everyone in one go. The quality of the smoothies are ok even though it’s not completely smooth, there are small pieces of pulp in the smoothie.
I started to make the smoothie one the cup instead of the jug to make the texture more creamy and smooth it worked very well for about a month and then the Pro-Extractor Blades broke down. So I was back to using the large jug.
Now the jug have become so damaged that about half a cup of liquid is leaking from the jug when I use it. The jug has been sold out for a while The motor works like a dream, but the quality of 2. 1l jug and the Pro-Extractor blades are so bad that I don’t recommend buying it.
This is not cheap blender, so I expect a better quality.

for the sake of saving you a bunch of reading, i listed short pros and cons, you can read the more detailed review below pros: large pitcher blade results in faster and smoother blending very powerful motor(comparable to a vitamix e310) relatively durable motor base and pitcher/cups buttons are very responsive tamper saves you a lot of trouble decent value smooth buttons and timer makes it very easy to clean off.
cons: Very loud- if you have picky neighbors/roommates this is not what you want to turn on for a 6:00 breakfast. lid on pitcher can be difficult to take off at times. the vent underneath turns up a windstorm- you may want to keep away from paper or light objects so they arent blown away easily smudged- not a big thing but if you want to keep it spotless you will have to wipe down the buttons after each use Just picked up the 56 oz and 32 oz cup combo from target, for $150 bucks.
initially I was trying to save for a vitamix, but got a bit impatient and decided to bite the bullet(pun not intended) and pick this big boy up. the minute i opened the box i immediately wanted to try it out.
I stuffed some frozen fruit and yogurt into the 32 oz blender cup, and made a strawberry banana smoothie. I noticed that if the fruit chunks are large and there isnt a lot of liquid, the blades will have a hard time catching the fruit and actually making the smoothie.
after correcting this by adding some oat milk, it finally blended up. the consistency was an instant upgrade from my old black and Decker blender, no fruit chunks, very fine consistency, and remained thick and smooth.
it probably took about a minute on medium speed to finish. i didnt even need to go full power! Using the 56 z pitcher, i decided to make some peanut butter, i simply threw a thing of planters peanut in, and started it off on low, eventually medium(didnt need to go to high very much) i didnt even need to use the tamper a lot like you see people do with their blenders.
the result was very smooth, and better than most you can buy at the store. it took about 2. 5 minutes to get to the right consistency. overall I think this is a vitamix alternative you should consider, especially when it comes to the comparable power and smooth results.
The NutriBullet® Smart Touch Blender™ is actually a suite of blending tools. The heavy base contains a powerful 1500W motor with intuitive controls. There is a 64 oz blending pitcher, their 32 oz cup (the actual “bullet” of the NutriBullet® system), a smaller 20 oz travel cup, two lids (for the two cups), and s separate blending base for the cups.
The blending mechanisms are metallic and solid and the locking mechanisms are tight and secure. The foot design on the base is simple and very effective in preventing movement – there are two textured feet and two feet that are more like suction cups (see picture).
The larger blending pitcher allows for safe processing of hot foods (like soups) with a lid that locks in place with a very strong seal around the perimeter – and the blender will not operate without the lid secured on the pitcher.
A very welcome inclusion here is a tamping rod that allows you to mix and press items through the top of the blending pitcher. The base for the blender recognizes whether you have the larger pitcher attached or one of the cups and presents you with options on the display that are suitable for each attachment.
The motor is strong enough to handle every task I threw at the blender – purees, frozen drinks, smoothies (all standard blender tasks). The only thing negative that I have to say about the blender is that the blending attachments don’t brake after a pulse – the blender speed just tapers off (when pulsing, I would prefer that the blades come to a stop more quickly – maybe just a personal preference).
Comes with a recipe guide that is simple but effective – mostly introduces the features of the NutriBullet® by way of examples of recipes that are immediately recognizable. This is a totally solid blender system.

This is a great little miniature blender for mixing protein drinks and other small drinks, but it breaks so easily. I have gone through two of these already. The clear plastic breaks. I wouldn’t recommend it for smoothies or anything with frozen fruit or ice.
It just doesn’t blend it well. I did try it with heavy whipping cream and it worked but took a while for it to blend enough to fluff it up.
Its been better then I imagined. I wanted something small and portable that could offer me a creamy protein shake in a matter of seconds. Nice and quick. This blender is amazing. Not only does it look good and make awesome smoothies, it is super easy to clean.
The cleaning only takes a couple minutes, which is nice because with a regular blender it would take forever to wipe it all down and clean it before the next use. The battery life in the blender is decent.
Will have to charge it about every 8-12 blends, which isnt bad at all. Ive taken my blender with me to the gym, or just had it packed and loaded in my backpack for when ever I need a healthy protein snake.
Id definitely recommend this product for anyone who lives a healthy/athletic lifestyle because it definitely makes it easier to get that protein in post workout, as well as juicing if you’re doing a cut.
If you have kids and need to blend baby food or what not, I’d imagine this would be the perfect product on the go for stuff like that as well, for all the mamas out there :).

There are basically 3 groups of blenders. Cheap, mid-priced, and high-end. If you are looking to spend less than $100, then this isn’t the equipment for you. If you are looking for a high-end blender, you may want to think about what you are actually paying more for.
This blender is all you’ll need, ever. This mixer is commercial grade, has a huge motor, nothing about it is cheap, it weighs a ton. Any person looking to make smoothies, or blend, or chop in a mixer, you do not need a ton of custom program settings.
Its a blender, its not meant to be complicated. I have had cheaper ones and this puts them to shame. Seriously it is worth it. Whether you get the reconditioned or new, you can always get it fixed if required, they are in Cleveland.
They stand behind their product and you just call them and they help you. Read up on what people say are the problems and maintenance issues, and you’ll pretty much find nothing. Compare that to other mixers which go on and on about how to fix their stuff.
It has a 1000-watt motor and Pro Exactor Blades that can break down ice, nuts, whole fruits, and seeds. Includes 1 x 18oz jar and 1 x 24 ounce jar. The perfect blender for that morning smoothie, quick shake, or blending fruits and vegetables.
I used this blender almost every single day without any issues for at least a year, possibly longer. It’s a powerful blender that works very well on just about anything. However, there were many issues with it that I overlooked because they seemed minor at the time.
For starters, you need to remove the ring to clean the gunk out from beneath it. This proved to be challenging (and somewhat annoying) because it’s difficult to remove the ring. Additionally, it leaked occasionally, which is why the ring had to be removed for proper cleaning.
Finally, I started to smell this strange burnt smell when I made my smoothies. On one occasion, I grabbed the bottom of it to turn it upright, and the metal piece in the middle of the blade burned my finger quite badly.
I couldn’t figure out why it was hot. Later that week, I used it again (or tried to use it), and all that came from it was a grinding/screechy noise. I tried to turn them manually, but they wouldn’t rotate at all.
The blades had seized up. It’s still sitting on my counter collecting dust. I found a replacement blade, but it’s not the OEM replacement part-which they don’t even sell for this model. I’ll likely keep looking for a replacement blade, but I would never purchase this model (or a similar one) again or recommend it to anyone else.
For many years I used the more traditional blenders with the many parts that had to be taken apart and washed after each use. Then I tried the Nutri Ninja Blender at my sister’s house. I was amazed at how well it quickly blender my smoothie and how simple the cleanup was due to so few parts.
Since then I have purchased one for myself, my son and have recommended it my clients. It comes with lids that allow me to blend my protein smoothie at home in seconds and bring it work in the same container.
My favorite smoothie has frozen cut up banana chucks, meal replacement powder, milk. and Ice. Additionally I have found it works well to make sauces. I never use my old blender anymore. The Nutri Ninja Pro is a game changer!.
Enjoy commercial-grade blending power right at home in your own kitchen with the Breville Super Q countertop blender. Boasting a powerful 1800-watt motor, pitcher recognition technology, and noise suppression technology, this blender delivers professional-quality results without the noise or the mess.
Ended up opting for this blender instead of the vitamix when it was first released just over a year ago. It’s been replaced twice now as it’s completely died. The appliance doesn’t get much use maybe makes smoothies twice a week if that.
Easy process for replacement it goes to a local repair centre which is a 30 minute drive from me and takes roughly 3-4 weeks for replacement. However I just find it’s way toooo noisy and rickety like incredibly loud for what it is.
The soup function never works it always stops working if I try to blend pumpkin soup in this machine. Doesn’t do a great job and breaking down nuts as displayed as one of its great features. I find the cleaning function blends my smoothies better than normal smoothie settings in the smoothie cup.
I don’t get much use out of the air suction to keep juices fresher. Overall I just don’t see it’s value I paid $900. 00 at the time I can see it’s a little cheaper now however less years in warranty I received 10 years and now it looks to be 7 years on offer.
I think I’ll sell this unit and go back to a vitamix which has always been my old faithful for me in the past. I really thought to try something else this time around when upgrading and the additional features sounded really great on this machine but yeah just not sold biggest negative is how loud this machine is.
I have used Breville’s The Q every single day for about six weeks now to blend up the most perfect green smoothies every morning. There is no fibrous green that this thing can’t tackle! And fruits don’t have to be cut up really small either.
Just throw everything in the blender, press one button, and about a minute later, you have a beautiful, tasty green smoothie to start your day out right. And the thing literally cleans itself! Just rinse, add a few cups of soapy water, put it back on the motor, and press Clean, and another minute later, your pitcher is clean, ready to be rinsed, and simply air dried.
I’ve seen demos of folks touting the benefits of the Vitamix while literally having to remove the pitcher from the motor and shake everything up to get things moving inside the blender. The Q doesn’t have that problem.
Like I said, the push of one button, and everything comes out perfectly. I’m looking forward to learning how to make fresh soups and other things as well! (I do wish it had come with a little sample recipe book.
That would’ve been helpful. ) Anyway, I researched alot of blenders for about a month before deciding on this one. I definitely made the right choice. This is the best purchase I have made in a very long time, and I recommend it to everyone!.
My initial experiences in using this new blender are mainly positive. It’s a replacement for a similar Breville blender. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this new one will not develop a leaking from the bottom problem that occurred with the first one.
A couple things I’ve noticed right off the bat–this one is quieter (yay!) and the lid fits tighter (The fit was secure with the first blender, but not this tight. ) Using the setting for green smoothies is what I use most often.
With this new blender, the ice cubes (only 2-3) are not completely blended when the green smoothie setting is finished running. I discovered this on its first use, so I started running it a little longer to make sure the ice was blended.
Also the greens did not blend as well. They are chopped fine, but very visible, and it’s a smoothie that is not real smooth. Again, seems to need more time. I’m still learning how to adjust to correct for such issues.
I have not used it very much at this point. I am being meticulous about cleaning as directed immediately after use.

My Ninja Blender Auto IQ BN495UK arrived promptly the next day as promised. Upon unpacking I was disappointed with the amount of single use plastic wrapped around the blender and components. As a company you use paper bags on your vacuum cleaner packing and that could be improved on the Ninja side of things.
The user Manual and the handy recipe booklet for different uses for your blender, certainly didn’t need to be in plastic bags. So this is an area that needs immediate improvement and I am deducting a star from my score because of this.
It’s a beast in comparison to my old machine, and makes it look like a toy. Its good quality and the blades are almost sculptural, the two containers are of good sturdy construction and fit in the top of my dishwasher easily.
The flip top lids are also well moulded. I make smoothies daily and tend to use frozen berries and vegetables, and use unsweetened almond or coconut milk as the liquid. I used my old blender bottle to get the correct measure, and tipped it into my Ninja container, making a note of the level in the notes section of my recipe booklet for future reference.
The base unit has four buttons and its very simple to operate, on the right side you have blend and ultra blend (ultra used for ice and frozen blending) on the left side you have start/stop and pulse button.
I used the preset on my frozen smoothie blend, and its great to be able to press and let it does it thing for 50 secs. It was perfectly smooth. Yes it’s louder than my previous blender which was only 300w, this is 1000w, but its such a short cycle its really not an issue.
I made a quick banana shake too, simple fast and deliciously smooth and will be making my hummus and guacamole later in the week and made my Yorkshire pud batter in it this evening. I’m very happy to recommend this blender, just hope Ninja improve on the packing.
Very pleased with this blender. Very powerful motor, worth the extra money up from the 600w model. Makes excellent smoothies on blend function, the pulse option blitzes almost anything. Whole product is very solidly built, blade part easy to clean and two beakers and lids very useful.
Comment would be if you want to crush ice it can be a little aggressive and can come out like slush/snow cone but you may want that. Also the beakers are tall so need a spatula get out from bottom if making small dips etc but these are very minor things.
Impressively with quality of Ninja product so far.
ok. Does the job. Bought to replace 900w Nutribullet that i’d had for about 6years. I only make smoothies. typically Almond milk, frozen bananas, flax and goji powder, protein powder and some frozen blueberries.
The pre programmed setting for Smoothie is never long enough and I end up using it twice or another setting. This surprised me as it’s 1000w vs. 900w for the nutribullet. I also don’t think that the blend is as smooth as the Nutribullet and therefore wish i’d replaced with a more powerful nutribullet.
that said – it does the job – just takes a little longer and not quite as good.

Much larger than my old Bosch model but works well enough. Note there are no longer any attachments available for this model despite what appears in the user manual, I tried all the usual suspects including Bosch themselves, otherwise great price and product appeared brand new in original box, although it appears they’re all sold out now, unsuprisingly.
It is no good suplying this product for the UK market without the option to buy a euro plug adaptor. It is very hard to find the information that it only comes with a euro plug. I have no idea who well it works yet without buying an adaptor.

This blender is pretty impressive. I’ve used cheaper blenders as well as a magic bullet for years so this is my first step up to more of a professional level blender (it’s a night and day difference).
First, this is really solid. it’s shocking how much it weighs. That tells me it should have a quality motor and last a long time, the only downside is that if you’re planning to move this around or keep it in a cabinet when you’re not using it then make sure you won’t have a problem with the weight.
For example I wouldn’t give this to my grandma who is 90 and doesn’t have counterspace because I know she wouldn’t be lifting and moving it around, but for most people that’s not an issue. Some reviews of this really hate the operating button, and my wife couldn’t figure it out the first time she used it, but as soon as you understand how it’s not an issue.
Basically just move the knob to the setting you want and then press the play button. then it runs and turns itself off. Yes, it is different than most blenders in the past but it’s trying to make things simple and I don’t expect everything to work the exact same way it did for blenders made 50 years ago.
The noise is loud but not excessive, certainly within what I would expect for a blender. The glass jar and rest of the blender are really solid and are great quality. I like the quick pulse mode (turn the knob to the left) and really like the automatic turn off for the other settings.
Also it’s so powerful while running that I’ve had no need to press a tamp in to get things blending (like I have with other blenders) so I’m totally fine without one being included. The only thing I don’t love is that the lid is really tight, however it needs to be tight with how powerful it is, and I’m guessing that will loosen up a little as I use it.
The blender is an amazing kitchen tool that can be used for a variety of tasks, including making smoothies and juices. There are a few things to keep in mind when using a blender for these purposes, such as the type of blender you use and the ingredients you add.
When it comes to choosing a blender for smoothies and juicing, you want to make sure you choose one that is powerful enough to handle the ingredients you’ll be adding. Some blenders come with specific settings for smoothies and juicing, so that’s something to keep in mind as well.
In general, you want to look for a blender with at least 1000 watts of power.
As for ingredients, the sky is the limit when it comes to making smoothies and juices. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. When juicing, you want to use fruits and vegetables that have a high water content, such as cucumbers, oranges, and watermelon.
This will help ensure that your juice is nice and refreshing. When making smoothies, you can add pretty much any type of fruit or vegetable, as well as yogurt, milk, or even ice cream. Just make sure to add enough liquid so that the blender can properly blend everything together.
The blender is an incredibly versatile kitchen tool that can be used for a variety of tasks. If you’re looking to make smoothies or juices, just make sure to keep a few things in mind, such as the type of blender you use and the ingredients you add.
With a little bit of planning, you can make some delicious and healthy drinks that the whole family will enjoy.
