A blender is a kitchen appliance used to create smooth, textured, and volumetric textures by blending two or more substances. The device typically has a cylindrical container with a flat bottom and a rotating blade assembly at the top.
The container is usually made of glass or plastic and is often fitted with a lid to prevent spillage.
A blender can be used to crush ice cubes by adding them to the container along with some liquid (water, juice, milk, etc. ) and then blending at a high speed. The ice cubes will be broken up into smaller pieces and will become suspended in the liquid, creating a slushy texture.

Powerful and Versatile With 1500 Watts of power and up to 22,500 RPMs, you can blend virtually anything you want in this high-performance blender.
From everyday smoothies to nut butters and even soups, the NuWave Moxie can make it all with unique settings for even the most specialized blending tasks. Theres even a convenient Pulse button for quick bursts of high-power blending. High Quality Construction The NuWave Moxie comes with a 64-ounce jar made from Tritan, a BPA-free, stain-resistant and dishwasher-safe material.
The Moxie is built with jet engine bearings, ensuring consistent, high speed performance every time. The Moxie even includes a convenient plunger to push down foods without coming in contact with the blades.
Plus, the Moxie is incredibly intuitive to use with a convenient dial to control the speed and one-touch controls for more advanced functions.
Wow, I am very impressed with how well the blender works. I was a little skeptical with this blender and I didn’t know if it could compete with my current ultra powerful blender. My instincts were definitely wrong, this nuwave blender works much better than the blender I was using before.
What really stands out with this blender is that it’s NSF certified which means it’s commercial grade. The fact that this blender has this certification is very impressive. The whole design of this blender looks great in my kitchen.
I was very surprised to see how large the blender jar is, it holds so much. One jar design feature I would change is the spout shape. When pouring thicker smoothies for example the edge is not the right shape and the liquid doesn’t pour straight into a cup.
Since the spout doesn’t direct the liquid well, it makes pouring messy. Other than this, I think this blender is great. There are many preprogrammed settings which come in very handy. So far this blender has made super smooth smoothies, and has perfectly puréed cooked vegetables for a delicious soup.
This blender is so powerful and the preset programs automatically time the blending perfectly. I like that you can see how much time is left and while it’s blending you can adjust the time too. A cleaning setting is included which works great, and it really cleans out the jar.
Overall I highly recommend this high quality blender.
I did not know I needed this blender in my life until I got it on a whim. I had a vitamix years ago but after the hefty price tag and the motor blowing on me after a few months I didn’t think I could invest in another blender like that.
I am so glad I got this one because boy does it blow the vitamix out of the park. I can’t speak to the longevity of the motor yet as I have only had this for a few weeks- but it is just as powerful as the vitamix! I have made delicious smoothies, creamy soups, and delectable sauces and dips with this.
I cannot wait to keep experimenting and finding more ways to use this blender! I highly recommend this to anyone looking to invest in a high quality blender. Also, the size of the blender is so much larger than other typical house blenders- I was able to make smoothies and soup for my whole family of 6 all in one shot! The different settings and time countdown allows you to set it and walk away to perfectly blended food.
This blender has literally changed my life and I’m sure it will change yours too! It also comes with a lifetime warranty in case down the line I have issues with any part of the machine.
We’ve had a nicely reviewed blender for quite a while. So, I wasn’t sure the Nuwave blender would be anything I didn’t already have or need. I was so wrong. This blender is seriously a top performer for blending up smoothies.
Much more efficient than my previous one, better consistency of the smoothies, and way less time. Things I love: – clear countdown on how long each blending cycle lasts – very secure lid; no need to stand there with a hand on it – HUGE capacity for the container; seriously, she’s big! – cleaning cycle; very simple cleanup – accessories to help mix thicker consistencies and empty the container are nice Things I don’t love: – the spout on the container could be wider and more defined.
With thicker smoothies or foods, it doesn’t funnel it quite cleanly. – I do wish there was an option for a glass container so that it looks nicer sitting out on the counter; but this doesn’t affect it’s performance.
This blender is great for all of your best-tasting creations with three preset recipe programs: Ice Crush, Icy Drinks, and Smoothie. Or, control the taste and texture to fit your personal preference with the 5-speed variable speed dial.
The Soft Start Feature starts the motor at a slower speed to pull food into the blade then quickly increases to the selected speed setting to avoid splatter. It also features Intelli-Speed Motor Control, which senses contents and maintains the optimal speed to power through all ingredients.
Make smoothies, milk shakes, fresh juices, hot soups and more with this blender. Choose from 16 speeds to achieve the desired consistency. This blender has a pulse feature that offers precise control over blending.
It also has 6 different, pre-programmed blending modes for ease of use. Its powerful 1500-watt direct-drive motor effortlessly kneads dough, blends ingredients and crushes ice. Includes a blending jar with a patented design that is just like profession models use in coffee shops and restaurants.
Immersion Blender Variable Speed Blender Synonymous with best-in-class blenders, Vitamix has created a high-performance immersion blender that makes easy work of mixing or pureing directly in a bowl or pot.
It’s equipped with five variable speeds to stir delicate sauces, pure baby food, whip cream or blend large batches of soup. A scratch-resistant guard protects the stainless-steel blades from marring pots and pans.
One-handed operation is easy ” simply twist to lock into place and press the button. Five variable speed settings allow you to blend an array of foods in seconds. LED light display. Ergonomic handle.
I’ve used this a number of times since picking it up and it has done everything I’ve asked it to do without issue. My main uses are for single serve smoothies and soups or curries on the stove top. I wasn’t a fan of pouring hot soup into my full size Vitamix and having extra large items to clean (whether easy or not) as well as the weariness of things like curries eventually leaving stains or smells.
Having had a Vitamix for 7 years I’m confident in their quality and purchased this to resolve the above and it has not disappointed on performance at all. The thing I was most surprised about is the amount of suction force it has.
The instructions say to keep the bottom of the bell (base) about an inch from the bottom when using which is easier said than done! I know it won’t damage my cookware or cups/glasses but I think it’s more so larger items can get pulled under and into the blades.
Anything higher than the second power level and it’s a workout to keep it from pulling its way to the bottom and wanting to stay there! As stated earlier, I purchased this item because I trust Vitamix to be a well built and durable brand and this is no exception.
It feels sturdy, isn’t too heavy (for me, at least), and is super easy to clean just like my full size one. It’s definitely in the top tier on pricing but I think you get what you pay for and this will continue working and providing more power and range than most below it’s price for years and years after they have stopped working.
It’s also SO much quieter than the full size Vitamix machines. I can just about carry on a conversation at regular volume even at the highest setting. My biggest complaint is the lack of accessories.
Maybe it’s because it’s still a newer product from the company but many of the competitors have various accessories and storage options to complement the main product while all you have with this one is the base with the motor and the detachable wand with the blade.
I’d have liked a blade protector (other than the flimsy piece of clear plastic it came packed with) that could snap on to the bottom of the bell for storage or even a storage bag/case. I also hope they come out with some additional accessories like a mini chopper or blender whisk attachment in the future to expand the versatility.
Overall it’s a great immersion blender that will handle anything you throw at it and looks great as well, but is well above the price of just about every competitor while having the bare minimum included and no accessories available for it.
Time will tell if the latter is remedied but I definitely do not regret this purchase regardless.
Awesome immersion blender! In the month or so I’ve had this immersion blender, I’ve made beautiful single-servings of “nice” cream (vegan ice cream), sauces, dressings, smaller amounts of hummus and baba ghanouj, and smoothies, and I’ve pureed soups in the pan.
Because of the price, I had to jusify buying this Vitamix Immersion Blender. But I am so glad I did! Here are my reasons: Reason #1: I’ve now had my full-sized Vitamix reconditioned model 5300 for several years and I depend on it, using it several times a week.
I adore that appliance–It has transformed my cooking and our diet. The one thing it doesn’t do well is make small amounts easily. (Well, and it is noisy–but we are okay with that!) To make smaller amounts (of things that my current immersion blender wouldn’t do well) I use the Personal Cup Adapter–It works, but it is more clean-up than using the regular Vitamix pitcher.
So that was the first reason I was interested in this immersion blender when it first came onto the market. Reason #2: I’ve always loved immersion blenders, and have had 2 or 3 over the past 40 years.
My current Cuisinart one works well, no complaints. So I was going to get along without this product. BUT this past year, I’ve ditched my nonstick pans and invested in Staub enameled cast iron pots and pans.
I wanted the durability and love the colors–Each one is a work of art, and they are fabulous to cook with! I’m a total convert. (I will share that buying the Everything Pan and this Vitamix Immersion Blender was the impetus for me to get the Williams-Sonoma credit card and that 20% off reward the first day.
Most of my Staub, I’ve bought on sale, gently used on eBay or as factory seconds–hard to even find the tiny flaws. ) Anyway, I digress–The cuisinart immersion blender has a “sharp” stainless steel bottom, which would scratch my new pans–The ability to puree soups or smooth out sauces right in the pan matters to me, so voila! This was the answer.
I have been impressed by its power–and I love having variable speeds. It’s way quieter than the full-sized Vitamix. It pulverizes hard frozen ingredients like they’re nothing at all, and the size of the head is small enough that I can use it in a wide-mouth Mason jar.
No, it’s not AS powerful as the full-sized Vitamix, for that truly silky smooth effect, making nut milks and fake cheeses, vegan yogurt–all of which I do weekly– but wow, it is way more powerful than the cuisinart and I find myself using it frequently, right alongside the full-sized Vitamix.
Like my cuisinart, it is super easy to clean, just twist off the head from the motor body. Blades are sharp, so take care in handling. Because I have low cabinets and I want to keep it on the counter, I disassemble it and stand the 2 parts up–It takes up a few inches more counter space than the cuisinart immersion blender did, but it’s SO worth it.

Reviews From Real Customers
Like another QVC review (not a review imported from KitchenAid), the pan guard fell off during use. Absent any warning in the printed literature that this could happen and having operated my new blender successfully only once the same evening, when this occurred I continued blending (unaware) until I heard a heart-stopping contact between blade and guard in the bottom of my ice cream and berries mixture.
This contact resulted in visible damage to both the pan guard and 4c pitcher and possible damage to blade on blending arm. I am working with KitchenAid to hopefully acquire a new guard. At the same time I sent a pic of the blade within the blending arm to ascertain if now dull or damaged after causing damage to guard.
I can live with the blade cuts on the pitcher. Note: I had read every thread of instructions arriving with the blender. I had also watched numerous YouTube videos on immersion blending. No where was there a warning that consumer must continually ensure that guard remains on blending arm.
I thought I had purchased a quality, use tested and well documented KitchenAid small appliance. What a horrible experience!!.
Purchased the black version which according to the Kitchenaid website is the onyx black color, not the matte black. It is a shiny black color. It charged up within 2 hours and when put into use a month later for a split pea soup, worked well inside my metal 4 Qt.
Farberware pot. I took off the pan guard as my pots aren’t enameled. The blender was strong and worked to puree all the chopped vegetables inside the pot with ease. I appreciate the addition of a whisk attachment and when I make meringue cookies will use that instead my hand mixer to see how well it performs.
My only wish is that a plastic storage container came to hold all the pieces in this set (the chopper cup, the 1 Liter/ 4. 2 Cups Cup holder, the pot guard, the charger and both attachments) for the cordless motor handle.
Directions were fairly easy to follow but it took some figuring out how to remove the blender attachment from the motor handle. That isn’t described well in the instruction manual. It also took some doing to put the pot guard back onto the bottom of the blender attachment — that had decent directions to attach it into place.
Kitchenaid makes great small appliances and I am pleased with this immersion blender.

Had another well known make for maybe 15 years. This was a great machine but extremely noisy, starting to leak, and really past it’s best. I wanted to try vacuum technology with a machine that was quiet but would last or guaranteed to last but could do everything and more than last as technology had moved on.
Over the last 5 years I have purchased Sage Appliances, from their highest end coffee machine to pressure cooker, grill, and their guarantee and support is better than any company I have encountered.
I looked at this blender in the Sage lineup and it was the easiest decision to make because to buy the old brand or other top of the range equivalent machine I needed to spend multiple times the amount of money and need far more kitchen top space.
It required an additional enclosing unit and a vacuum type station that plugged in and sat uncomfortably to the side and looked more prototype like, it was uncomfortably on the eye. Admittedly, it wasn’t really a home kitchen top appliance, but more a commercial kitchen.
Super Q has lived up to expectations and everything you read about it, it does. The additional vacuum unit is brilliantly easy and the very best thing I love is you fill the hub, press button and walk away! No standing with a cloth over the top of the jug, just in case and explosion of liquid occurs, and this is double downed if you also use vacuum, particularly with hot produce.
5 stars well earned for machine, service and price.
Very pleased with recent Super Q purchase Mainly used for soups, smoothies and dips. Very simple to use with very handy function options. Mainly use the soup function and it is brilliant, soup is really silky and smooth (I use the super vac) and is warmed to the perfect temperature.
Noise – I’m not sure there is such a thing as a quiet blender! Doesn’t seem any noisier than other blenders or food processers I’ve used. Easy to clean – soups just slide out of the jug with little scraping required and minimal waste, set the clean function and then it is pretty much spotless Lid – reviews I read mentioned difficulty getting the lid off, I struggled a little at first but it was my error, once I started to ensure the pressure inside was released and the clips were fully released the lid is relatively easy to remove Build quality is fantastic, it has a ‘substantial’ feel with no flimsy plastic parts (not the most important thing but I like the way it looks) Super vac – I was hesitant to buy this at first thinking it would be a gimmick.
Certainly for soups and smoothies it makes a HUGE difference, I’ve made the same soup without using the super vac and it had a significant amount of air and bubbles in. Using the super vac I’d go as far as saying it makes some of the smoothest soups I’ve ever had.
Overall I’m very very pleased with the Super Q and would highly recommend, this isn’t my only sage product and I’m very impressed with the quality and ease of use of their products.
Hi, I dont usually write reviews, but for the benefit of people looking for a good blender in this market with so many products it can be baffling. This Sage blender is solid, grinds, blends everything to perfection.
I know some people have complained about removing the lid – There is a finger ring handle on the lid which helps you remove it easily with a bit of pressure, I dont see this as an issue So I have used the Nutri Ninja blender and can say hands down that this is a much superior product compared to the nutrininja.
I have also used the Vitamix and can say the SAGE is on par with the Vitamix. And the price point of this blender is wonderful. TheVitamix can be expensive for what you actually get. The Nutri ninja retaining for 129£ is fine but not the best.
ONe thing i found in the SAGE Was at 2400W, the noise level was much lesser than the nutri ninja which had 1500W. With a 7 year waranty, what could go wrong. I feel this is a massively under rated blender which does not appear in many of the google searches 0 DONT KNOW WHY !.

Reviews From Real Customers
Got a very good deal on my Blendtec 575. It is very powerful and easy to use. Have only been making smoothies with it. Blends them very well. Had a little issue with cavitation which is an air pocket developing around the blades that interferes with the blending whirlpool.
I was making a double batch with frozen berries, milk, peanut butter, banana and ice. Solved it by partially thawing the berries and adding them and the ice in phases rather than all at once. Really like the auto cleaning feature.
I was thrilled to receive my Refurbished Classic 575 yesterday. I’ve been a green smoothie maker for over five years and my last high-speed blender (JTC OmniBlend V) finally gave up the ghost, so we were without smoothies for over a week and a half.
(I was really feeling the deprivation!) Though the OmniBlend worked really well for me during that time, I decided to research the blender market a little before simply buying another one. Blendtec and Vitamix were my first two considerations.
Here are some features that steered me away from Vitamix: *taller jar with narrower bottom (I know some newer models have tried to address this, but the one I saw had a huge, thick, cumbersome-looking lid that I didn’t want to mess with) *lower horse power motor that almost necessitates (according to some reviewers) the use of the tamper to get food moving *sharper, four or five-prong blade that hinders complete removal of blender contents Some of the reasons/features that attracted me to Blendtec: *1st choice of GreenSmoothieGirl (if she doesn’t know her blenders, who does?:) *more similar to what I was used to *huge 96 oz.
Wildside+ jug (I can easily make enough smoothie for my whole family) *stronger 3 horse power motor *shorter overall base/jar height And here are the features I love with the Blendtec over my previous OmniBlend V now that I have it and have used it a couple times: *wing-tip blade and even wider jar base *simple control panel (I have eaten all raw in the past, but my main use for the high-speed blender these days is green smoothies.
Thus, I appreciate the less cluttered panel with only one preset button (smoothie), various low-high speeds, and 60 or 90 second cycles. The clean cycle button is cool too. ) *simpler blade/drive socket assembly (the underside of the jar is also very open and easy to clean, with one hole in each corner to prevent water from pooling around the blade assembly and weakening watertight seals) *sleeker, more compact base takes up less space on my counter *vented lid cap that holds blender contents in while still permitting air flow (especially important when blending warm or hotter liquids) *tight-fitting, secure lid that isn’t really big and awkward Overall, the only slight “downside” would be that the Blendtec IS louder than the last high-speed blender I used, but it’s a 3 horse power motor taking down frozen fruits, celery, broccoli, etc, so I’m not too concerned.
I’d expect a little noise under the circumstances. I’ve never had issues with food not blending because I always use at least a cup (often two cups) of liquid as my smoothie base (water kefir, rejuvelac, or even plain water).
Then I fill the jar (loosely packed) with my leafy greens and briefly blend to condense them. I add the rest of my veggies and briefly blend again to make room for my fruit. Once I’ve added the fruit (fresh bananas and frozen banana/strawberries), THEN I push the smoothie preset and let it finish up.
And I know some people like super thick smoothies, but if you like a more “drinkable” consistency, one way to avoid wasting smoothie is to rinse the jar with water after pouring your smoothie into your cups (I love the sport water bottles that have a pop top–they spray out a nice stream when you squeeze and it works perfectly to rinse the inside of the blender jar without adding tons of water).
Then you add that watered down smoothie to the cups you’ve already poured (obviously leave “head space” at the top of each cup to allow this) and just stir in until mixed. This really prevents waste and leaves the jar mostly clean and ready to wash.
Anyway, I’m super excited for many more years of successful blending with my new (refurbished) Blendtec!.
This is the very best blender I have ever used and its half the cost of the biggest Ninja. I got this to replace my Ninja Bullet, bought into that hype, I have had to buy 3 in the last 2 months and return them because they leak!! This blender will never leak at the base and get all over everything.
It blends to liquid even blackberry and raspberry and the seeds smooth as silk. I make a smoothie every day full of frozen fruit a little water water and protein powder and have never had it blended so well in 60 seconds as this blender!!! I will never go back to Ninja.
Easy clean up too. Blendtec where have you been all my life?? I’ll never let you go!!!!!!!.
Perfect for all the family, this Blend Active ColourMix is a quick and easy way to add tasty, healthy ingredients into your busy lifestyle. Make delicious, nutritious smoothies, shakes, slushies and protein drinks in no time, all at the touch of a button.
Comes with two 600ml and two 300ml BPA-free bottles, each with a coloured sports lid; perfect for keeping track of which drink is yours. Bottles fit most car and bike cup holders so you can be on your way to 5-a-day before you’ve even got to work or school! This compact unit features a powerful 300W motor to make light work of your blending tasks while taking up minimum space; keep it on your worktop so it’s always ready to go.
Blending occurs in the top of the bottle so powder doesn’t gather in the base and the angled stainless steel blades are suitable for crushing ice.
Bought this a few months back now, originally had to send it back and get a replacement as the blade was broken but the second we received has been brilliant!! Initially didn’t think we’d use it too much, was my partners idea while on his health kick.
I’ve used it more than he has. It’s not massive so sits in the cupboard nearly, the different size bottles are brill for when I just want a small smoothie or the kids ask for a smoothie or milkshake! It’s so easy to use as well, it’s been so worth the money! I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone who likes a smoothie but doesn’t want to spend a fortune.
Most parts can be put in the dishwasher too which is handy but- and it might just be that my dishwasher is terrible- but the bottles don’t wash great in there however, they’re super easy to clean by hand!.
We bought this to replace an old smoothie maker. This new blender is so easy to use (and most importantly easy to clean). Doesn’t take up space in the cupboard, works perfectly, we get lots of use out of it.
Would recommend if you want something that’s good value and does the job very well indeed.
Was originally recommended this by the staff in Cotswold Outdoors in Betws-y-Coed. Have used this for the last couple of years & it is a wonderful product. Clean your boots with clean water after a mucky walk, let them dry naturally & use a small amount of the paste on the boots, work it into the leather & don’t forget the hard to reach folds.
A little goes a very long way, very easy to apply, leaves a nice soft sheen to the leather. Works with Gore Tex boots too. I have worn Asolo Powermatic GTX boots using this product & they have NEVER leaked, even through some atrocious weather.

This is an amazing blender. In fact, it’s the second I purchased. When the first one gave in (I use it every day, sometimes even twice a day) I didn’t even look for anything else. I just searched for shops where I could buy the Le Blender from.
In addition, I am very happy with the service. The next day delivery was truly next day, which is amazing for a small independent shop without extensive customer service staff.
Purchased to replace a 20year old blender that was on its last legs. Purchased in summer with the aim of making smoothies. It is absolutely fantastic for smoothies blends fruit, frozen fruit, ice, and anything else very finely.
We have also used it for soups sauces, hummus, and pesto. Excellent performance for all of these. This machine is very largemuch larger than our previous blender. Not a problem for us but if your kitchen is small take note.
It is easy to clean but unscrewing the blade assembly from the bottom of the jug can require some effort. Amazon is asking me to rate sheerness. Im not sure what this means. A gentlewomans unmentionables might be sheer, as might a neglige, but this blender is robustness incarnate nothing sheer about it at all.
Perhaps Amazon is enquiring about transparency. If so then yes, the glass jug is, as is typical for clear glass, certainly transparent enough to assess progress in pulverisation.

Using the Breville Blend Active is very quick and easy. Just fill one of the bottles with your selected ingredients, screw the blade section onto the bottle, place onto the base and blitz to the required consistency.
Remove and replace the blade section with a super-seal leak-proof lid and you are good to go. The sharpness and angle of the blades will make light work of tough ingredients and can even crush ice. For easy and quick cleaning both the blades and the blending bottles are dishwasher safe. Recipe ideas are also included to help you get started.
I have had this for years and absolutely love it. Sadly I’m moving over to a different make due to the lids not lasting long. Breville do not sell lids separately and with everyday use their lids only last a couple of months.
I have had to purchase now, 16 bottles just for the lids and cannot justify this cost anymore. They split at the front then leak when you take a sip. Such a shame as otherwise a great product.
Pros: The blender looks nice and it’s small so it doesn’t take up much space. Also, the two bottles are handy to drink from afterwards. Cons: The opening on the bottles is obviously pretty small so it’s not easy to get the pieces in.
I’m currently using some frozen smoothie pouches and I’m always dropping pieces on the table. The pieces also often get stuck at the top of the bottle and, even if they don’t get stuck as such, they sit on top of the smoothie mixture for a long time.
It takes a long time for the blender to kind of bring them down to be blended. Overall, the blender seems okay, but if I could go back, I would probably try my luck with a different one.
Pleased with my purchase but would advise to be careful when unscrewing bottle from motor. WhenI tried to unscrew bottle from motor the blades separated from the bottle and jammed in the motor. I realised what had happened and quickly turned the whole motor and bottle upside down to stop contents of bottle spilling everywhere.
I managed to separate blades from motor eventually and have used blender since, but it has made me very wary.

Crushing ice cubes in a blender can be a quick and easy way to create ice for cocktails, snow cones, or other cold beverages.
