20 Best Bedding For Outdoor Cat Houses (2022 Updated)

First, I bought this exact house from Walmart in case it didn’t work for what I needed and I could return it much easier to the store. I’m giving 3 stars because while there are parts of this house that are 5 stars, there are issues that knock it down.

As for putting the house together, it would be super easy if they actually gave instructions that made sense. There are 3 sets of screws, a set of 5 long brown, a set of 5 short brown, and 4 white screws.

You only need 4 of each of the brown. The other 2 are extras. Use the short brown screws to screw in the 4 screws around the bottom of the house. Put the roof on the house and use the long brown screws to go through the holes in the roof and house.

The white screws are for the doors. Once you know this it’s a breeze. As for faults, the house is really little. A cat of any size will struggle to fit in the door and will have very little space inside.

If they would just make it a couple inches bigger each direction, it would help tremendously. Secondly, the door flaps are cut slightly smaller than the door openings. Great to get in and out but horrible to keep kitty warm.

The tiniest of breeze makes them flap wide open. It will not keep kitty warm. Since there are 2 doors (for safely escaping a predator), I plan to find similar thick plastic and will cut the flaps larger than the door openings and will attach one from the inside and one from the outside so it will always work with going in one door and out the other.

Should cut down on the wind. I think these are such easy fixes for the manufacturer to implement so I hope they pay attention. Would be perfect then.

Excellent product. Easy to assemble perfect size for 1 large cat or 2 smaller cats. Legs lift house about 2 inches. House fits tightly together. Not enough longer screws were included but a quick trip to hardware store and problem solved.

Took others advice and attached silver insulation for winter. Also adding pressure treated plywood cut large enough for nice overhang. Original overhang allows rain to spatter inside. Also cut door flaps as suggested for easier entry/exit.

Would definitely buy again.

So easy to put together! Wow! We have a feral, was teeny kitten over 3 years ago, will not allow us to touch her nor will she come in. caught her, had her fixed, tried to domesticate her but no go! She’s now our “yard kitty”.

Felt badly for her with storms here in FL so bought this! Hubby put sand down, tile even underneath and the mulch all around house. She did use the tarp during storm 2 days ago, not sure if in house yet but once it gets cooler we think she will.

Even place treated panel on top and partial over front door then tarp. In case rain blows! I know “all this for a feral?” Yup! She’s our YARD KITTY! )Hope photos came through. ).

I purchased this for a stray outdoor cat I take care of. I have a cat bed with a blanket in the bed, and then the covered heating pad on top. As instructions state, nothing goes on top of the covered heating pad.

I have this plugged in outdoors with the bed under our stairs that lead to the patio out of our house, and so far its worked great. I see Miss Ellie in the bed at night, and in the morning both times when I go out to feed her, so she uses it, which made it all worthwhile.

My cat absolutely loves this heating pad. I have placed it in his cat house. It warmed up within minutes of plugging in. Colorado winters are cold here, but my cat stays perfectly warm and cozy in his cat house with the help of this heating pad.

I covered it with a small blanket to make it more comfy.

I used this in one of the outdoor beds I already had, couldn’t locate the old pad. Anyway, for this year’s drop-off cat I placed the house on our porch plugged it in and he was in it on no time! He loves it and I can rest assured he will be comfortable in the Illinois weather.

I also use these for our barn cats wouldn’t let them head into winter without them.

I have been using this bedding for many years for guinea pigs! I used to get the brown natural one until 2 years ago. I opened a bag and almost puked. It had the same odor as the really cheap brown paper towels in a kindergarten school bathroom, but a lot stronger.

I decided to try the white one. I used that for awhile until I got a bag that also had that strong smell. Next, I switched to trying the multi-colored bedding. That worked fine again for awhile until all of a sudden they also had the chemical smell.

The smell from this last bag was so strong EVERYONE in the house had a hard time sleeping. It’s similar to formaldehyde when trying to breathe, but has a terrible poop-like smell. **We all got sore throats and had a difficult time breathing.

It even affected my guinea pigs. They stopped making ANY noises for several days. ** We finally gave up after a few days of hoping it would air out or we would acclimate to it. We had to buy some other stuff and change it.

I saved the unused bags of bedding. I’m really afraid to buy any more of this bedding after what we experienced.

I’ve always heard great things about Carefresh so when my usual Kaytee bedding was out of stock I decided to go with this one – and I’ll never do that again. I bought three bags and the moment I opened two of the three there was a massively strong chemical smell to the point I had to use an air purifier to clear some of the stench from the room.

The bedding was also very hard, as if it had been wet at some point, crumbled up, and left to dry with no care. I ended up buying some Kaytee as soon as it was available to mix in with what I had used because the smell was still way to strong for me.

I still have the last bag sitting and plan to leave it laying open for several hours or days before I use it with the next bedding change, which will primarily be Kaytee or another bedding. I know I might have gotten a bad batch, with both the chemical smell and the hard pieces, but considering I’ve since seen quite a few people with the same issue I’m inclined to think it’s more likely to be a bad warehouse or manufacturing plant that these are coming from.

We’ve been purchasing the white 60L size Carefresh bedding for my daughter’s rabbit for the last 8 years. However for some reason when we received our last Autoship delivery, the bedding was no longer white but brown.

While this didn’t bother me (or the rabbit as far as I could tell) it did bother my wife and daughter who said it had a bad odor. I just looked and it appears that the white formulation is no longer available in the 60L package and more expensive than the brown.

Something must have changed because we always order and receive the white version in the 60L package (it’s been one of the items in our Autoship forever) but now it’s only available in the 50L size. I’m guessing that the price must have increased and Chewy, instead of providing us with the new, smaller 50L package, must have substituted the 60L brown instead.

I divided this bag among my 3 Guinea pig’s cages. All 6 were happy at first, pop Corning and playing. Then, a couple hours later, they all started burrowing under it every time I would take them out and set them back in.

They also wouldn’t eat or do anything, they just stayed underneath. Their eyes would also be super dry too to the point where I had to put water there to moisten so I could help them open and get any paper bits stuck inside.

This stuff definitely seems soft but is very dry and dusty too. After seeing the same results the next day, I immediately switched their bedding to a different paper (non-scented) and they were happy again, popping and such.

They have also started eating again and acting normal as well. I’m not sure what happened fully but, it seems the scented bedding hurt them and made all 6 lethargic. Smells great but not worth it.

Although the price is very tempting, it is NOT a good investment. The quantity seems enough to cover the space of 14 in x 28 in Feeding area for a Guinea Pig, for about 4 changes every 14 days or 2 weeks.

However, after only 3 or 4 days, it is obvious that the bedding does NOT absorb the guinea pig’s pee as well. The floor is constantly wet, making it challenging for the Guinea Pig to find a dry stop while enjoying her meal/snacks.

Additionally, since it never dryes or absorbs the pee properly, the area has a musky smell. Also, because it is hard to control the fluffiness of the bedding (*if you put too little, it does not absorb enough or if you put too much, the paper is too loose and flies a lot when the Guinea Pig moves), it makes a mess when the Guinea Pig comes in and out of her feeding area since the paper sticks to her nails.

I usually change the bedding every week and half or even 14 days with other brands. But with this bedding, if I do not change it after a few days, the floor is continuously wet, as the pee goes under as if there was almost NO bedding.

If I calculate that in a period of 14 days, I had to change the bedding about 4 times, then the price is ONLY worthed if a comparable product is 4 times as expensive. However, even if the price was not much of a factor, the hassle of having to change the bedding after a few days, the inconvenience of having the Guinea Pig lay on a wet surface, the wet smell and the flying of paper pieces all over, make this product not a good purchase.

I honestly can’t think of anything negative to say about Kaytee C&C. It’s probably the most popular paper bedding in North America, and for a good reason. It’s super soft and you can get a pretty deep amount of bedding for a surprisingly small amount.

The way it packs makes it hold burrows pretty well even without anything added to it for stability. I haven’t seen any dust whatsoever from it. Sure, it’s not SUPER absorbent, but that shouldn’t be a problem if you have an adequately sized enclosure for your small animal and you’re regularly spot cleaning anyways.

I guess if anything, I wish it came in more colors! I do like the classic white, but my robo hamster is all white and I’d like to be able to see him lol.

I used this for my rats for their main substrate but use something else in their litterboxes which they are pretty good at using. I like this litter but have a few issues. It’s very absorbent, controls odor very well, especially when compared to paper.

It’s fairly soft, they like to rummage in it. When I spilled water on it, it absorbed better than most litters would. The amount of dust varied greatly by batch. Some batches were very dusty with clouds billowing up when pouring, others batches were ok.

The latest batch came with some greener bits where all others had been completely tan. This batch also had a distinct hemp/skunky smell if you know what I mean, which visitors may have eyebrows raise when walking by the cage.

This batch also induced severe sneezing and sniffly noses in my rats in 2 different cages to the point I had to remove it completely and put fabric in. The rats almost immediately stopped sneezing the next day.

With this being said, it seems there may be some quality control issues between batches. I really wanted to keep using it, I’m happy with recyclable packaging, odor and moisture absorbing was excellent, but my rats are sensitive enough, I probably will stop using it since I don’t want to induce a respiratory infection.

It’s a shame because it can be hard finding a good substrate. May change to fabric in general and provide a dig box for enrichment.

I have a bunny, pet rats and reptiles, so finding bedding/substrate that is not dusty, affordable, absorbs odor and feces well are important to me. I currently use Aspen mulch for some of my snakes and my pet rats are on Carefresh.

Here are my thoughts: I like hemp bedding, at least, this brand of bedding. It is my first time using it and it is as advertised. Soft to the touch, no dust, and no smell. I covered my bunny cage (6 x 2) that is attached to her playpen with hemp bedding.

She seems to like it. It took about 4 lbs of bedding to fill about 3 inches of bedding in her cage. I would use it for my non-burrowing snakes like woman python or corn snakes. It doesn’t dry up the cage and the lack of dust is always preferred.

However, I would not use this for burrowing species like Kenyan sand boas. Hemp is too soft and can’t hold the tunnels that burrowing snakes like, so I would be staying on Aspen mulch for those types of snakes.

I also wouldn’t recommend this bedding for pet rats because it would not be strong enough to neutralize or absorb all the odor a rat makes within a few days. Lastly, Chewy has the best price on hemp bedding at this time, even though at almost $18-19 for 8 lbs, it is still very expensive.

I bought it to try it out but due to the price and other cheaper substrate options, I probably will pass this until a good deal comes up.

I’ve bought hemp pet bedding before and it never had a bad smell. This brand is terrible!! The guinea pig is in an open area and it smells like a Willie Nelson concert in there. I read the other reviews and decided to take a chance.

But never again. The smell is so strong I’m worried my kids will go to school and child services will show up at my house. Its also a pretty small bag of bedding for the price compared to other kinds of bedding.

Overall just a bizarre product, especially compared to other hemp bedding I’ve bought before.

We use both the brown and white “Clean & Cozy” bedding for our 3 guinea pigs. We put a layer of brown on the bottom and then put a light layer of white on top. We have found the brown to be more absorbent, but the white is cottonball soft, so the combination keeps them dry as well as allowing them to snuggle down into the bedding.

We use an adapted drill bit with a portable drill to fluff each bale before using as each guinea pig is in a separate cage and they get fully changed every 3 days. Lots of time and bedding is saved using this method.

The bales are ALWAYS uniform quality and MUCH SOFTER than any other brand (we have tried them all over time). We realize we spoil our little guys – but – would you rather put your head on a rock or a pillow? Our guys vote for the pillow 1!.

Kaytee paper bedding is my go-to bedding material that I use for my hamsters. Like most, I did my research before purchasing products. I’ve found that Kaytee paper bedding (specifically the clean & cozy white color) to be perfect for my little fur babies.

The bedding has little to no dust residue, expands, and holds its shape for hamster burrows/tunnels. I’ve watched many informational videos on hamster rescues and took note of what they recommended before I rescued my own little ones from a backyard breeder.

Kaytee paper bedding is super soft and highly expandable. Contrary to its packaging size, it is true that it expands 3x its size. This is brilliant for both storage and use. Easy to storage for its compact size, and lasts a while before you need to purchase another pack.

I personally buy the 85 liters, well worth the price! Another bonus is that unlike other bedding brands, I’ve found that Kaytee has very little dust residue. High amounts of dust residue can cause respiratory problems for your little furry friends; it’s best to find appropriate bedding that carries little dust content.

I personally found Kaytee’s paper bedding highly exceptional for nest building and burrowing. It keeps its shape all while allowing warmth and ventilation. The weather here in Cali is definitely bipolar, however there’s no denying that it gets very cold.

Help your little furry friends stay warm. Although I have many praises for this product, I can’t say that the odor control is that pleasing. There will no doubt be odor accumulation over time, but little bits of spot cleaning are a life changer! Unlike outdated hamster care where you had to change the entire bedding after 2 weeks, your hamsters actually benefit more from spot cleaning.

I found that my little fur babies had lower stress levels using the spot cleaning method. If you’re looking for a stronger odor control, I recommend Kaytee’s “Extreme Odor Control”. The extreme odor control product would be more beneficial towards young female syrians hamsters, they produce more smelly pheromones during their estrous cycle.

I can’t say I’m too sure about other species, but my female and male Campbell/Russian Dwarf hamsters don’t omit strong pheromones such as the syrian species. I certainly recommend this product, it is affordable and works great! I love it and so do my fur babies.

This product gets an A; it certainly deserves it. :).

My kittens love to sleep inside, one each but sometimes they also sleep together in one igloo, then later in the day flatten it and sleep on top. Then, when I come to fix the flattened bed back into an igloo, my kittens get very happy, purr and go in and out of the igloo as I fix the small blankets that I put inside and erect the igloo back to its usual shape.

The kittens like to play with the igloo and flatten it until its time to sleep and dont seem to mind if I forget to re-erect it; however, once its bedtime, esp when its cold they do seem to prefer the igloo erect.

It is just another method I now use to positively interact with my babies.

Suddenly we have a cat. Our neighbor died recently and his cat soon after moved into our backyard. She sometimes comes inside the house but just for a short while; in other words she preferred to sleep outside, and that’s why we had to buy her this Igloo so that she has safe and warm space to sleep.

So far she loves it. She uses it each night and it does not seem to be cold.

I have a Maine Coon and a Norwegian Forest Cat, and both of them love these cat igloos. I originally bought two but gave one to a rescue and bought another, My cats fought over the one until the new one came.

The only issue I have is that when you have two or more cats and they both want to same igloo, one can jump on top and collapse the igloo on the other, but I don’t know how the manufacturer would stabilize the top without ruining all the positive aspects.

What I did was place the igloos under a desk or chair that I could tie to top to and that stopped the top from collapsing. They look very small but once my cats are inside and curled up, they still have plenty of room to move around in.

I will definitely buy again if anything ever happens to the ones I have. I have had the first one for several years now, so I don’t expect I will need to replace it anytime soon!.

This bed looks nice and it’s well constructed. However, it doesn’t make a difference at all with providing a cool surface. I hoped it would provide a cushioned but cool surface for my senior pup to lounge on instead of on the hard tile.

She still prefers the coolness of the tile to this bed.

This is the third bed I’ve purchased from Chewy and while the first two were great this one is awful. Like the style but it offers no real support as advertised for my large GSD. For the price I paid I’m really disappointed.

When I need another bed I doubt I’ll look to this manufacturer again.

Cant say as to the quality b/c it just arrived. Have to get the right size first and let my dog use it and then I will know. I ordered and paid for the jumbo and got the large. I order online to save time and frustration.

It was too small for my adult cat who isn’t overweight. She couldn’t turn around when she got in it. The back of the bed is smaller than the front. I wasted my money buying this bed because she can’t use it.

It would work fine for a kitten.

Came out of the bag. ready to go! After some initial sniffing and inspection, kitty crawled in, turned around and plopped down for a test nap. Kitty APPROVES!!! Easy to pick up and relocate to different rooms, too.

It was too small for my adult cats and they did not use it. It’s better for kittens or small adult cats. Other than that it was very soft and nice,I recommend it for kittens.

Got this to try out this winter to help my bunnies keep a little warmer and to prevent my bunny hutch from smelling since I usually try to cut hutch cleaning in half during the chilly winter months. This bedding seemed to do a super great job at keeping my bunnies warm during this frigid spell, they don’t eat it like they do their hay, so I didn’t worry about them eating tons of their bedding overnight and being cold.

As for the smell, I don’t think my bunnies have much of an odor unless I let their litter pan go for a super long time, so I’m not sure I can really give much of an opinion on the odor blocking. The bedding definitely doesn’t have a strong “coverup” smell I was worried it might have.

And thank goodness it doesn’t because my super strong sniffer doesn’t care for fake or chemical scents. Overall worked out well for my bunnies because it served its purpose to give my bunnies some extra bedding so they wouldn’t freeze.

The other reviews seem to be part of their “promotion”. I had to buy this bedding because my hamsters normal bedding was out. This bedding has zero odor control. We usually change her bedding after 2 weeks, and this one lasted 3 days, and the entire room stunk! We tried it again, and it only lasted 2 days.

I would not recommend this bedding unless you want to clean the cage every couple of days.

We love this litter. The ferret cage smells so much better, and we are cleaning less! The only problem we have is the ferrets kick it out everywhere and the bag only lasts a month. We used to use blankets in the cage which downright stunk after a couple days but we no longer have to use them.

A little pricey for the amount you get but worth it.

The bag is small compared to another brand of the same volume amount. It is also not as tightly packed. It says on top that it expands to three times its size but I feel that this is not appropriate to say since the material is the same or almost the same as the other brand.

Works in a pinch! The price is a bit high for me and it doesn’t expand well like other bedding I’ve used. It does well with odors compared to using a wood shaving bedding. My rabbit doesn’t seem to care either way.

Good bedding for my rabbit! Virtually no odor when I clean his litter box every other day, and I like that it has no bleach or scents. Good for sensitive bunny noses 🙂

Great feral cat house. I lined it with styrofoam and put straw in inside. Two kitties will be warm when winter comes . Easy to assemble. Would recommend.

Well made of sturdy materials. Plenty big enough for one cat. Only problem I have is my cat wouldn’t use it with the door flaps. So I had to remove them which allows rain water to splash up from the ground into the lower door.

I have to think of a way to avoid that issue before next rainy season.

Wanted a safe and warm place for a stray cat I have been feeding for years, and it worked! I find her in it everyday. It’s sturdy and easy to put together. I chalked the inside seams, then hot glued the styrofoam pieces over those seems for extra warmth in the winter.

Wer das normales Heimtierstreu in der Wohnung nutzt, muss echt masochistisch sein, es fusselt überall rum. Dieses hingegen bleibt dort wo es soll, ist kuschelig weich und riecht angenehm. Allerdings ist mir ein absolutes Rätsel, wie man das Streu als saugstark bezeichnen kann, es tropft eher.

Ich streue dreilagig ein und verwende es als Überstreu (oben Stroh). Als Untertreu nehme ich inzwischen normales Heimtierstreu. Je nach Qualität des Letzteres fusselt es in Verbindung mit dem Linum nicht, oder nur ganz wenig.

Aaaaber: Der Versand. Geht gar nicht! Ich habe vier Beutel Linum bestellt und einmal Heimtierstreu (große Packung). Die Ware ist in vier Kartons gekommen und dass, obwohl die Streu nun echt nicht schwer ist.

Neben dem Verpackungsmüll, der sich jetzt zu Hause bei mir stapelt, ist das umweltmäßig jawohl eine Katastrophe. Der Clou an der ganzen Sache ist dann noch, dass der eine Karton (1 Packung Linum + Heimtierstreu) noch ausreichend Platz für alle drei anderen Linum – Beutel gehabt hätte.

Was soll das?.

For most cases this bedding is great. Safe Aspen, minimal dust (though I wouldn’t call it 99% dust-free). There are some wooden chunks in it to be aware of, so that could be good or bad depending on the purpose.

For me, I’m using this for my finches, as a fun supplement to paper; they like playing with it and provides a good cushion for fledglings. For what I don’t like: the dust, as mentioned, is still there; it has the least dust from all those I’ve tried, but it’s there.

Another thing is the flake size – I personally would have liked some larger flakes. There are some, but most are smaller.

I have had many rabbits over my lifetime. With each one I learn a little more about them. I use to use cedar shavings because they make the house smell better. I learned that the cedar scent I love is actually harmful to rabbit lungs.

The scent of pine is almost as bad. The aspen is neutral scented providing them a safer bedding to burrow in and and play “bunny bulldozer” in. Once used it is great to go in compost pile along with rabbit “black gold.

The best out there for it’s price. I use this for my bunnies and they do just fine with it. There is one review concerning the fact that it may have pine in it – it does not. I got extremely worried as pine is not safe for bunnies, and I had just finished using a bag, so I went and checked (bag had not been thrown out yet), and it says (quoting from the back of the bag) “Good for the Pet! Good for the Planet! You can’t buy a more natural bedding than Premier Pet Aspen.

This package contains only kiln dried, natural wood fiver. Kind dried shavings, including aspen and pine, are the very definitions of a natural product. There are no artificial or risky additives, they are completely biodegradable, made from renewable resources and are carbon neutral.

” It is not saying pine is in the bag, it’s saying that kiln dried aspen and pine shavings are natural products, almost a way to advertise their (unsafe for rodents) pine bedding. The wording is tricky and may very well confuse people, but this product does not include pine.

I go through this fast, and it beats other bedding prices by a long-shot. There are a few chunks and woodchips here and there, but most of it is fine. some bags are also a bit dustier than others, I just shake the bedding and let it settle before giving it to my bunnies (used as litter, not as bedding).

Purchased two for my two cats who have always preferred living outdoors. They are on a shelf about two feet off of my garage floor, sheltered against the wall, out of the elements. I leave them plugged in and one of the cats has used hers from day one.

Think the other one will use his more soon I think. The little heating pad is not hot, just slightly warm, so its not a danger. Took one out to clean the sheepskin cover once. Not hard to clean and left out to dry.

Ive been very satisfied. I think the cats feel sheltered and safe and there is a door at the back too if they needed to get out.

This is the second heated cat house I’ve bought. It seems well constructed and the heated pad seems to be working fine. I almost always see a cat in it, but since I have about 1 1/2 dozen outdoor cats, someone always needs a place to sleep.

I didn’t give it 5 stars because the ‘door’ is really a lot larger than it needs to be and there is no cover for it. A previous purchase on sale from our local Tractor Supply store has a clear PVC type of flap that velcros in place so you can use the house with or without.

Since I live in the far north east of Wisconsin where we get some pretty brutal snowstorms, that extra flap option really comes in handy. The reason I bought this one even without the flap (but not noticing the difference in the much larger ‘door’) is because it was in a better price range on my limited budget.

But the next heated cat house I buy will have the flap and smaller door.

This is a great cat house for outside when used in a garage, shed, or covered porch. Weather resistant does not mean waterproof. When used in these places, this gives kitty a snug space to keep warm.

We have ours on a shelf in our garage, which is unheated. The feral has a place that helps keep in body heat – when not plugged in – and gives security. Even other brand’s models that come with plastic flaps should be used in a sheltered area of some sort whenever possible.

If not possible, a large plastic container can have two holes cut. Place the house inside, and raise it on some sort of pallet. Done. For the price you can’t beat it.

Ok, so PJ has his bed, now the other two needed something. I got these two mats and they are perfect. When I read about the Milar layer inside,I was a little hesitant, due to the crinkle factor. So as soon as they arrived I got them out and began bending them this way and that.

There was just the slightest sound. Less than a plastic bag, and my cats walk on the bag I keep my yarn in all the time. Well, nothing like a trial run. The big one is huge so I put that one at the foot of my bed.

Drew likes to lay on the floor in front of the heat vent and although the floor there gets warm, it’s that fake wood stuff and Drew is getting up in years so I wanted something soft for him to lay on.

Less than 24 hours later and I have three sacked out cats in my room. PJ is fast asleep in his bolster bed, Drew found the soft mat in his favorite place and Morgan is snoring on the larger one that hopefully will keep at least some of the cat fur off my sheets.

My roommate commented, “They all look so comfortable, I think I’ll go in my room and take a nap too. ” So he’s out of my hair for a while too. LOL. These mats have the same soft plush top as the lining of the cat bed and the Mylar sheet inside does seem to make it warmer than just a plain towel or blanket.

I just slid my hand between the matt and Morgan’s hip and it is warm. So if you live in a cold climate like I do, why not keep your fur babies warm on a couple of these soft mats. And there are two in a pack, not bad for the price.

Chewy gets praise again for carrying these. Just what I was looking for.

I have two sets of cats. Indoor and garden cats (that I haven’t gotten to come inside yet). It has been getting cold and I wanted to stock up for my outdoor cats garage bedding. They have self warming beds already but I wanted their sleep containers to be extra snuggly so I went searching for more self heating bedding.

These new ones (to us) aren’t as crinkly sounding, which was very appealing to my indoor cats with special needs, hence they stole them before they got to my outdoor cats. Two sizes come in this package.

The small is acceptable for a kitten sized cat or to line a cat carrier (or a desperate to be warm chubby indoor cat). The larger small was more what I was looking for to have more coverage to hit the sides of a medium cat carrier (make shift cat house for sleeping).

A great price for one, but even a better price for two.

The large size was much bigger than I thought, I have 2 50 pound dogs and they can both fit on 1 bed. I ordered 2 and had their names put on them. They love them and I love them. The material seems to have some kind of light coating on it that makes it easier to wipe down for cleaning.

Way too big for the washer.

I ordered from Cabela’s expecting better quality. I know this product says ships directly from manufacturer, but I didn’t expect that to be a cheap, well-known store we all shop at. This bed is very flat and has a cheap competitor’s label.

It also does not have a sturdy cover that I would expect for an outdoor bed. This is a shoddy product. I am very disappointed in what I received for the high price I paid. If I wanted a cheap quality bed, I would’ve shopped at the cheap store this product actually shipped from.

*I wasn’t allowed to mention the store by name*. On a positive note, I did receive the product in 3 days.

The bed is great, dog loves it but I was disappointed that the cover is not a zip off so it can’t be washed without opening a seam. When I do open the seam to wash the cover I will put a zipper in.

Kiln-Dried Pine is just about the best option for use with rats. The kiln-drying process removes the harmful phenols in the wood, making it completely safe. Nearly all pine shavings sold for use with animals is kiln-dried.

It’s very inexpensive and readily available. This is also a light weight bedding, which allows rats to practice natural behaviors such as digging, burrowing and nesting. It is also effective at neutralizing ammonia.

When wet, the thin shavings dry quickly, keeping your rats dryer. Solid waste tends to fall below the top level of the bedding, so that rats are in less direct contact with their waste. The only issue I’ve noticed with this bedding is some brands can be a bit dusty.

This bedding is what I use for my own rats.

My rabbit was surprised when I used this bedding first time mixed with what I had left because chewy didn’t have the regular bedding I got. Now cleaned out his cage again with just this kind and he loves it now.

So since I couldn’t get his original kind I will buy this now. It is soft and to me it seems like it’s dust free and easier to clean.

I literally love this bedding!! I actually mix it in with our favorite Carefresh bedding for the perfect mixture, it keeps it more fluffy instead of the Carefresh getting all packed down. It’s super absorbent and darkens in color when wet to make spot cleaning super easy.

I love the smell too! The piggies love the softness and popcorn everytime I put in a new batch. Every once in awhile I will find a big chunk of wood but I just toss it out.
