As different people have different preferences for their bbq sauce. Some popular options for bbq sauce on pork ribs include ketchup-based sauces, vinegar-based sauces, and mustard-based sauces. Some people also like to add sweetness to their sauce with honey or brown sugar, while others prefer a spicier sauce with chili peppers or Tabasco sauce.
Ultimately, it is up to the individual to decide what they believe tastes best on pork ribs.
You’re holding the sweet and mild Memphis style elixir that has simmered in Grandma Lillies kitchen for generations. Hints of brown sugar and a dash of smoke make SMOKY the perfect compliment for your slow cooked ribs and tri tip beef.
For a true Southern gluten free, wheat free & dairy free.
This is the only sauce my family truly enjoys. I’m have been a huge bbq sauce guy since as far back as I can remember and have tried about every kind I can get my hands on. Ranging from “mom and pop” to commercial sauces.
This is just the right one for me. I smoked ribs for my buddy on 2 separate occasions. The first time I used Smoky, and the second time was “fill in the blank. ” Mind you, this was maybe 6 months apart.
My buddie’s wife commented that she preferred the sauce from the first batch of ribs. I guess it made a lasting impression. For anyone on the fence, just try it. It’s perfectly smoky, sweet and savory.
I’m also lucky that my local super market carries this.
Can’t get enough of this sauce. Seriously. I swear my household drinks it like water. It’s got a little bite to it out of the bottle, but when you cook with it, the heat mellows a little, so even those who claim to not like hot spice will love it.
Goes well with anything pork for sure, but love it on chicken and beef brisket too. Also goes amazing with our homemade mac ‘n cheese. Also amazing in homemade baked beans. Would definitely recommend this product!.
I haven’t had a chance to taste every product yet. I ordered most of the spices and sauces, and all of the chips that were in stock. The Smoky Hot Barbecue Sauce made my pulled pork absolutely delicious! The Buttermilk & Sweet Onion Kettle Chips were a unique find and very tasty! We are so excited about the recipes provided on the website that we plan to buy a smoker in order to utilize the sauces to their best potential.
I will definitely be ordering again once my stock is deplenished.
Enjoy the flavors of the open range. Across the western frontier, chuck wagon chefs grilled over aromatic wood fires and created “cowboy cuisine”. Our sauces descend from those heritage recipes. They enhance grilled food rather than overpower it.
Pair with beef, pork and poultry and everything in between. The smoky flavor is reminiscent of cooking over wood without overpowering the sweet and tangy essence of the sauce, and it has a little pepper to add some bite.
Thursday 7-27-2017: I decided to try the Cowboy Smokehouse BBQ sauce this evening on some thick cut loin chops as well as some boneless skinless chicken thighs. I grilled them like I always do over hardwood lump charcoal (Cowboy brand of course) until done.
Then I basted them with the new Smokehouse BBQ Sauce and turned them a couple of times before serving them. I must say it is a great sauce full of BBQ flavor and smokiness. The sauce has just the right amount of Bar-B-Q flare to it with a nice touch of smoke and a subtle sweet molasses finish.
It was really good on the pork loin chop, but it was phenomenal on the chicken thighs. I really enjoyed the sauce and look forward to finishing off the rest of the bottle on a few leg quarters. Friday 7-28-2017: I came home after a hard day at work and was looking for a quick/easy fix for dinner.
I dug through the freezer to find some pulled pork I had smoked for a gathering earlier this summer. Knowing I had some Cowboy Smokehouse BBQ sauce left my eyes immediately lit up. I thawed out the pulled pork and warmed it up in a skillet.
Once warmed I stirred in Cowboy Smokehouse BBQ sauce. I have got to say it really complimented my pulled pork. This was my second time using it and I was able to sample it on chops, thighs, and now pulled pork.
In my opinion it was best on the chicken thighs. It was also an excellent addition to the pulled pork and by no means was it any slouch on the loin chops. On a scale of 1 to 10 “Grill marks”. I give this sauce “9” grill marks! This is competition winning sauce and look forward to using it in the future.
P. S. – I love that it is in a 18 oz. glass bottle. I love the front label it is very appealing marketing for a classy BBQ sauce. Congrats “Cowboy” you nailed this one! Grillbilly.
A bold, robust BBQ sauce with a complex blend of sweet and salty, a hint of spicy and a dash of well developed smoke, this BBQ sauce is a serious contender. Definitely blue ribbon material. It should definitely come with some sort of warning on the label, “Contents may be addictive” comes to mind.
I do NOT recommend putting this on a double beef and bacon homemade burger as you will never be able to enjoy your burger without it in the future. My only complaint is that this sauce does not appear to be available in a gallon container.
But seriously, put it on ribs, steak, chicken, pizza, burgers, eggs, pancakes. honestly, it can only improve whatever you add it to! Try it! If you want to thank me for recommending it, just buy me a bottle of Cowboy BBQ sauce! ; ).
The “OG” sweet heat that sticks to your meat. Blues Hog Original BBQ Sauce is the perfect blend of sweet mixed with just the right amount of heat! Actually, the sauce is very good and deserves more than 1 star. Problem was with supply. I ordered some as Christmas gifts but it turned out to be unavailable after ordering. Too bad it showed stock when ordering.
Not a fault of Blues Hog, or BBQonline, but likely Covid and shipping hassles. Still, leads to an unsatisfactory online order.
Blues hog original barbecue sauce is my favorite barbecue sauce brand. This product has a great flavor and texture. This sauce is thick and makes coating you food easy and possible. Prefect for chicken wing night.
This is my favorite BBQ sauce! I always buy it in the Austin airport (it’s past security) on my way home. You can also order it online or on Amazon. It can make even the plainest of chicken dishes elevated.
Scott’s is a quintessential eastern North Carolina style, vinegar-based sauce, perfect for whole hog barbecue, or perhaps just a rack or two of ribs. Scott’s is not one of those half-dozen or so places whose names spring immediately to the tongue whenever North Carolina barbecue is being discussed, but in fact, it’s one of the state’s oldest barbecue restaurants, as well as a thriving black-owned enterprise.
Today, many of those who live outside Goldsboro are familiar with the family name through the visibility of Scotts Famous Barbecue Sauce, a quintessential eastern North Carolina style, vinegar-based sauce.
The roots of Scott’s Family Barbecue Sauce go back to 1917 when Adam Scott first got into the barbecue business in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The recipe for the sugar free, fat free sauce was developed over a three-year period and remains a secret which is passed down through the Scott family.
Adam, a local minister, said the exact ingredients in the sauce were revealed to him in a dream. That original sauce recipe was served on Scott’s barbecue for nearly 30 years, until Adam Scott’s son, A.
Martel Scott, Sr. , spiced up the sugar free mixture a bit before obtaining a patent on the sauce in 1946.
If you want REAL Down East Carolina barbecue sauce, it doesnt get much more authentic than Scotts. Its a little spicy, and unlike sugary, thick sauces, its pretty watery, designed to be a mop sauce as well as a finishing sauce on chopped pork/chicken.
Some people wont like the hot sauce/vinegar base, but I think its addictive, even as the heat starts to slowly increase. Also great on hush puppies, cornbread, pinto beans, collard greens, and even as a Cole slaw finisher.
I think this item falls into a love it / hate it type of thing. I guess if you grew up on this, NC style “sauce”, you might continue to enjoy it. but for me, this is nothing but spicy red vinegar, not a barbecue sauce in any conventional sense, like KC Masterpiece, Open Pit, etc.
You certainly can’t add this to a sandwich, the bread will just fall apart as if you had poured water on it. No, this is ” basting sauce” , meant to be mopped onto your meat as it cooks. I’m stuck with two and a half bottles of this stuff I’m never gonna use.
And this “sauce” is basically two notes: heat and vinegar. Harsh, and rather unpleasant. pass, you can make this in your kitchen in about thirty seconds.
Equally balanced and tangy with hints of apple, this sauce is crafted to honor Western Carolina barbeque traditions. Love it on pulled pork, brisket and smoked chicken, but it’s great on basically everything.

I used Malcoms reg bbq sauce. Oh man it is excellent and use it with the vinegar bbq sauce and you will knock it out of the park. We had a family gathering, I cooked 8 racks of ribs and a son in law who has grilled for a long time and used many different sauces, He has used another sauce for years.
Guess what he has a new favorite now. I put the vinegar on the bone side, and reg on the meaty side, several said best ribs they ever had.

Basted on both sides, wrapped in foil, cooked low and slow for two hours. uncovered, basted again and turned up the heat to caramelize. The smoky garlic honey flavor was a hit and everyone wanted to know the secret.
Even though I used most of the jar I believe it was worth the price.

IšverstiShow in original languageI tried this BBQ sauce years ago when I saw it at Walmart in a set of 4 different kinds of BBQ sauces. This Kansas Sweet Spicy one ended up being my favourite out of them all.

I tried the golden bbq sauce since my local WF store did not have the Primal Kitchen steak sauce. I am not a big fan of smoked flavor condiments unless they are cooked for hours. This sauce is good. It tastes clean and salt and sugar are not part of the recipe.
This is so much different than any bbq sauce that I have tried. See bbq is a method if cooking and I believe can not be found in a bottle. When foods are prepared in a bbq grill the smoke flavor is automatically infused by the cooking method.
These days bbq sauces have an enormous amount of salt and sugar, which in my opinion is just a mask for all the preservatives and other unhealthy unatatural ingredients. This is a simple sauce that can be used for dipping.
I enjoyed this golden bbq sauce with air fried Kroger crispy (frozen) butterflied shrimp. It replaces a cocktail sauce, a bbq dipping sauce etc.
