20 Best Basketball Shoes With Ankle Support (2022 Updated)

Bought for my 9 year old boy. First of all, the laces are different lengths – really annoying for shoes this expensive. After one month, the inside sole completely peeled away and now is so rough it ruins socks.

After two months, the rubber on the outside is peeling off. They are also made with a material that promotes some serious foot stink! My kid’s just 9 and only wearing the shoes to school and to play outside, not for sports or anything.

All of out previous nike’s have held up to basic everyday wear and tear. We’re already shopping for new shoes.

Basketball shoes seem to have more workmanship & details put into them then more expensive running shoes. These are great quality & comfy. I haven’t worn basketball shoes since the nineties but these are going well in winter with tracksuit pants & some baggier cargos.

Only problem is they are crushing my right ankle bone & I don’t know why. Hopefully I can wear them in, otherwise I’ll have to give them away.

It’s still early to tell how they will hold up but so far my son loves these. He has a long and skinny foot and it’s hard to find shoes that fit as snug as he likes when he is playing basketball. We had to return a pair this year because the ankle area was too loose of a fit.

He normally prefers a higher rise on the ankle too but this year style and hightops seemed limited. So far he said he really finds this one to be a comfortable shoe that gives him plenty of support while not bulky.

I purchased these because they have a rubber sole. I know they are basketball shoes, but that is not why I bought them. My son runs, plays, everything in these and they are very comfortable. Good looking shoe too!.

Great grandson loves his Adidas basketball shoes! This is the 2nd pair of Adidas he’s worn. They fit his little feet like a glove! Well done Adidas!!

So I had bought these shoes for my self and I absolutely loved them And I decided to get a pair for my 7 yr old for his basketball summer camp !! They look good and fit great Nice and comfortable ! You will not regret buying these adidas’s basketball shoes.

Other than the sheer delight in the color and style of this shoe, it doesn’t offer much. Bought these for my 12 year old Average build, normal foot length and width according to so and so’s pediatrician.

My son’s take was this, cheaply made(His words) and the toe box was entirely too narrow. I would not recommend these to anybody I cared about. ( Again his words!!!).

I bought this shoe in a Men’s size US12 one month ago and it has performed excellently on and off the court. the ankle support is amazing and so is the fit and feel. the only criticism I have of this shoe is its performance in wet or damp conditions where it is prone to slips due to low amounts of grip.

These are excellent budget shoes – they look better than i had thought. They’re not overly chunky like some basketball shoes can be, but still offer the support you need. They’re also nice and light on the foot and have excellent grip.

Writing a review for these since there has been a lot of negativity online. I purchased these in a size 11. 5 (my true size), I would consider my feet to be wide and somewhat flatfooted, not as much as KD, but for my flatfooters out there you know the struggle.

I primary play on outdoor courts so I will base my review on this environment alone. First of for my heavier post and PF players this is the shoes to get if your major concern is impact protection and comfort, their A1.

Good room in the toe box, no uncomfortable rubbing of my pinky toe, and good lockdown ankle stability. Break in time for these shoes was basically none and they felt good from the jump. This model is definitely a lighter low top version for those who do not like the 19’s.

Court feel is good and traction for outdoor use is great. Lateral movements felt stable and I had no fear of ever rolling my ankle. Since this is a premium shoe in the Nike basketball line the materials are durable and honestly quite breathable; you definitely get your moneys worth.

For my big men moving bodies in the paint and grabbing boards these are a must ! Try to catch them on sale you’ll thank me later.

I purchased my LeBron 19 lows this month. The wear experience was beyond what I expected. I can’t tell a lie I’m a LeBron James fan but his design qualities when it comes to his athletic shoes is impeccable.

Comfort is utmost with this design style, color combination makes the shoes special beyond comparison to any other athletic shoe now.

Personally I prefer lows and are a whole lot better than the horrid 19’s. I think the 19’s is a hideous shoe with a horrible design. Kind of reminded me of the 13’s when you had to go with the lows. I got the safaris and they are great! I would recommend them and hoping new color ways are coming out! Even though I am not a Lebron fan his shoes most of the time have a great design!.

I have purchased this particular shoe Lebron XIX low in every color it is very comfortable and I really like the looks of the shoe. I don’t play competitive basketball anymore but I feel very secure wearing a basketball shoe.

It is made very well and the colors are impressive. I would highly recommend this shoe.

I bought these for my son who wears special inserts. I always try my son’s shoes on with the inserts to make sure they are comfortable. The padding in these shoes is everything especially around the ankles.

I didn’t know I would love these shoes for my son. Very pleased with this purchase.

I use these shoes for work. They are super supportive and very comfortable. I work in a Data-Center that has concrete floors and I am 6’2′ and 315lbs of muscle. My feet are well protected and feel great after a day of walking around to the tune of about 15k-23k steps a day!.

Very happy with this purchase, shoes look even better in person. I would recommend going half a size up, I’m a size 8 but went with 8. 5 based on my previous Lebron purchases. The 8. 5 fits perfect, I believe it would be too tight and uncomfortable had I gotten a size 8 so I wouldn’t go as far as saying that they are true to size.

These are very comfortable for working out and playing basketball and provide great ankle support. I probably could’ve waited for these to go on Sale but didn’t want to risk sleeping on them and regretting it down the road.

Buy them for looks but not to play street basketball in. Bubble burst on both shoes in just one month. These are not built for street basketball.

This is a comfortable shoe. If u are looking for a bball shoe with good cushion/support this is a good one.

Whether your going for that lay up on the court, or the best shoe to put under your best denim this shoe has the power to make you feel like a lion and ruler of your style.

These shoes are a great budget shoe. The foam isn’t fancy but the cushioning is enough to protect the knees if you’re a dunker. I’ve scrimmaged for 2 hours solid with these and had no issues. Considering the upper is so soft I’m happy with how secure the fit is.

I was expecting my foot to slide around but laced correctly, I think they do a good job. This shoe is really lightweight and allowed me to run the floor hard and change direction off the dribble really nicely.

After 6 weeks of use they have not held up well. The light colored upper has stained badly, the protective patches on the toebox have peeled BUT the grip is still brilliant. The grip is a highlight. I would consider these a surprising excellent budget shoe.

I wear a size 15 so tend to enjoy lows or mids that don’t weigh me down. These tick the box and I would buy them again as a backup shoe – not a primary shoe. I’d still spend $250 on a good game shoe with zoom cushioning or similar.

Really pretty light green color. It says that there is a light purple bit but there isn’t. Nice high ankle with good support, but a bit stiff and uncomfortable at first, but nothing a little wearing in can’t fix.

A really nice shoe with character without being flashy.

Amazing and Comfortable pair of kicks. Good to see an all black option. chomping at the bit to grab a couple new pairs. Seems that everyone has big feet.

Shoes are very cushioning. As someone with a wider foot these fit very well and provide great support. Very light, recommended for a guard player. The cost of these shoes is amazing, and despite not being a ‘branded’ shoe such as Kyrie or KD, still highly recommend!.

I have been an AF1 fan since I was in fifth grade. I see knees the day they dropped while looking for a pair my son wanted and ordered them immediately. I have very wide feet So unfortunately I am pretty limited in what sneakers I am able to wear.

The wide toe allows me to purchase my actual size and not have to size up so they’ve always been a go to for me. When they were delivered I was beyond excited but immediately upon opening them I I noticed that the suede didn’t match on both shoes, it’s almost as though they are the opposite with some of the suede being really smooth and some of that having a more rough look but not in the same areas on both shoes.

That of course does not affect the integrity of the sneaker itself and considering I live in Maine where is salt and snow are on the ground more often than not it’s not a huge huge deal but is expensive as they are I feel like quality control should have picked up on that.

I was going to send them back and get another pair and ultimately decided to rock them as they were. I forgot how incredibly comfortable with you she was really are! I got compliments everywhere I went and after spending hours on my feet had no complaints with how they wore or felt on my feet during a busy day.

I’m going to order a pair that are not suede because I’m just so picky with my shoes and the suede looking different really bothers me but all in all I would absolutely recommend the sneakers. They are very comfortable they do not wear down easily and they hold up to just about any activity and weather you can imagine.

Time and time again I have ventured away from Nike and I always end up right back here you get what you pay for and Nike is the only brand sneaker I have ever owned that were worth the price I paid for them.

Aside from my crazy OCD nitpicking I have no regrets with these sneakers.

Prior to wearing these shoes, I had assumptions as to why Lebron has rarely if ever been seen in these during the season. After all, they are his signature shoe. It didn’t take long to find out why he doesn’t wear them.

these shoes are HEAVY I mean heavier than any basketball shoe I have ever worn. It’s a shame too because they are really good looking and the quality is top notch. but looks do not equal performance.

The cushioning is phenomenal they but they run a tad large and feel like you are using them for weight training when running up and down the court. I’m a larger guy and have always worn LeBron’s because they are made for us tanks.

but I think the 17’s were the last excellent pair. Hopefully they right the ship with the 20’s.

When I first saw the new LeBron’s 19 I was a little skeptical about the style, but I ordered anyways. Now that I own the shoe, it is a great shoe, super comfortable, having the shoe in my hand and wearing it is amazing and I am very pleased with the purchase.

I liked the shoes in photos, so I bought it. Unfortunately clear part of the shoe is covered by inner socks which it too tight for me to wear all day. It is a good shoe to actually play in because of its tight fit, but not comfortable for all day wear.

Great show. However, finish line sent a left size 7. 5 and a right size 8 when I ordered a pair of size 8 womens for my girlfriend. Didn’t notice until a couple hours after putting the shoe on when she mentioned it started hurting her left foot.

Since they had been worn, finish line refused to make their initial mistake right. Won’t be shopping with finish line in the future. If you want to keep shopping here I suggest you always check the sizes they are sending you.

These converses are great. They’re very comfortable. I got them size 6 1/2 but they run a little big. I didn’t return for a smaller size so I put a pair of insoles and gave me extra comfort. I read the reviews and received mixed reviews so I ended up getting my regular size.

Unfortunately, they were big and I hate returning anything. Otherwise. I highly recommend.

I’m very dissatisfied with this purchase from finish line. The worse quality converse i’ve seen. The glue can be seen everywhere around the shoe. The laces are super short. The white platform plat is very wrinkles and bad quality.

Do not buy on Finish Line, better buying from somewhere else for the same price.

I wear a men’s 11 1/2. Measured my feet according to the instructions. Ordered a 11 1/2. Arrived in a week. They were HUGE! Like a 13 huge. Returned them at my cost. Re-ordered same shoe through Target (free returns in store if needed.

I did) re-measured my feet and ordered a 10 1/2. Arrived in a week and again HUGE! Like the same size as before. These are not the Reebok of the 80’s. Both the 4500 were sad. Cheap thin leather, no padding, thin cheap rubber soles.

From what I understand, Reebok sold to Adidas. Then went cheap. I also bought the 4600. Too narrow and with cheap synthetic leather. They need to up their quality in these products. This used to be a good company.

These shoes wouldn’t have lasted a week in my teens or twenties. They look retro but that’s it.

The shoes look absolutely amazing. Unfortunately for me, I have flat feet so perhaps that why I found the shoes too narrow. They were also roughly half a size longer. The insole is thin and doesn’t really provide much comfort, should be an easy fix though.

Regarding the velcro strap, not entirely sure about the purpose behind it. It tends to slide up onto your ankle and not remain in place. Further, the velcro can damage the laces in the long term. Good style element however.

These are my go to everyday shoes. Ordering same for 20 years. Soles are bit thinner of yesteryear, but still adequate. Leather and soles wear well, pieces and parts stay together and no splits. I don’t use these extra hard, but everyday stuff.

Cut grass, shopping, walking around neighbor hood, etc. When these get old looking, they become my work shoes. Painting. Yard work, small roofing jobs, etc. They do well.

Have 3 pairs in various color. Purchased based on how great Lebron Witness 3 is (have 4 pairs). Comfort: 8 out of 10 (once you break it in) Support: 6 out of 10 (surprising considering the shoe appears robust to provide solid ankle and foot support.

I’ve actually rolled my ankle few times just shooting around) Sizing: Runs on the big side. Normally wear nike bball size 9s (except pg4 9. 5 – size 0. 5 up in pg4s) but could have gone with 8. 5 in LB4.

Kept 9 since wear ankle support. Width is true to size. Overall, it’s alright, but prefer older Lebron Witness 3s or PG4s which provide better overall support, comfort and value.

I bought them for comfort and ankle support. Slim shoe with excellent cushion. They wrap your ankle from front to back. They are slim fit. If in double gray half size bigger. I want to wear them all day.

Bought two pairs, one for each of my sons. they love them! One has the purple and white, my favorite. The other has the black and gray. My sons are both middle schoolers. what a great price for some LBJ and for a couple of picky middle schoolers who collect shoes.

They both told me the shoe is very comfortable and true to size. One said the shoe felt a little narrow around on foot but I believe after wearing them a little they felt better. The shoes seem to hold well on the court while they play basketball.

I would like to recommend and I’d even purchase this shoe again.

Wide feet beware! If you are looking for a good mid and a great rubber outsole (for outdoor ball) this will shoe will do. Its deceiving as it has a wide outsole but the midsole is quite narrow. This shoe will hold your foot in place but the tongue is confusing.

Quite large but not able to stay in place above the foot. There are plenty of vents on this shoe, from the toe box to the upper tongue. So this would be perfect for in/outdoor play.

My 10 year old is shoe obsessed and is constantly finding new shoes he loves. These made the list. He loves the color and they didn’t have his size in store and it was super easy to order online and pick up in store.

Price wasn’t too bad either.

The witness series is by far my favorite. They really deliver for the price tag. I really dont get how they are so much more comfortable they are than the 18s. Might just be my foot. The tongue on the 6 is awsome and the spongy sole is very responsive.

Highly recommend.
