Bark collars for small dogs are a type of collar that is designed to help reduce or eliminate excessive barking. There are many different types and styles of bark collars, and each one may work differently for each individual dog.
Some bark collars emit a loud noise or vibration when the dog barks, while others release a small amount of citronella or other scent. Some collars also have a feature that automatically increases the level of correction if the dog continues to bark.

Who says old dogs can’t learn new tricks? Other (more expensive) solutions we tried before did not work because of his long hair.
This collar beeps and vibrates. It might work for some dogs but it did not work for my 2 dogs. They heard the beeps, but it didn’t affect them at all. The vibration is so mild they could bearly feel it.
I put it on my arm and the vibration was just a very mild vibration. It did not deter my dogs at all.

Let me start by saying I have always turned to PetSafe products when it comes to my pets. I have always trusted my pets comfort and Safety with PetSafe products. I really like this pet friendly option for Bark training, we have a “bark walker” when I take Max for a walk or hike he barks and barks at other dogs and strangers.
I hate muzzles for many reasons, so it wasn’t the right fit for us. So This Audible Bark Collar seemed like the answer. So on arrival I took it out and plugged it in to charge (love this) no battery’s to buy and replace or check.
No spray cartridges to replace, I have used A spray bark collar that I had to replace spray cartridges (not ideal if you have a big time barker) This collar is very lightweight it appears like it would heavy it’s NOT.
So nice for not so large dogs like Max. Collar is dark blue “meh” not great. not bad. It has plastic clips making it very easy to attach and remove. Collar is easily adjustable for larger or smaller dogs, if your dog is smaller you will need to cut the extra length off then I burned the tip so it doesn’t fray just a quick swipe with a lighter that’s all.
The instructions are very easy to read and understand so using the collar for the first time is very, very easy. I do wish it had a metal ring to attach my dog’s leash to, instead of having to use 2 collars for walking.
Now when Max barks it lets out a loud SHHHH as if you are telling your dog shhh quiet. It sounds just like a large aerosol can spraying. This collar will learn with your dog and it’s barking pattern.
So far in our bark training the collar works 50% of the time as Max is learning! Remember this is a tool to help you and your dog in bark training. I think it’s definitely a great tool and Max will soon learn not to bark on our walks and he won’t be Shhh-ed.
As always if you have questions contact PetSafe customer service-support they have always been ready to help answer any questions or concerns you have.
Ok so the instructions stated that it would “spray” sound. I wasn’t sure exactly what that meant but we have a dog that just barks to hear himself bark LOL. We introduced this collar to him and the first time we heard it spray sound honestly I thought there was a rattlesnake on my porch.
After hunt for the snack for a bit we realized it was the collar. It does actually sound like an aggressive aerosol spray can which is why I called it an interesting concept. We have tried other types of anti-bark collars and I really do like this one.
It isn’t harmful in anyway and it does get his attention. I am happy with this product it doesn’t stop him from being a dog like if he sees a squirrel he is going to bark his darn little head off no matter what but this collar does get his attention and reduce the amount of just barking for the sake of barking which I much appreciate.

This spray collar is safe for all dogs, including puppies.
I live in a place where it’s very important for the dogs not to bark. This bark collar does not hurt the dog. It just sprays out a little mist and they don’t like the smell. So it encourages them to keep quiet.
It’s also important to reinforce them for being quiet. So if I tell them quiet please, and they quiet down, then I give them a little treat and a pat.
I recently bought 2 other ccllars for my dog, they buzzed or set off a high pitch noise, this worked for a week and then she literally barked at a bee farting 3 gardens up from us, the slightest noise and she was off out the dog flap like superman on steroids.
I then tried the supposed small static shock ones, my hubby didn’t even get it around my dogs neck and it started to give off a shock more powerful than the electric chair and he works with electrics so has had a few in his life and said that was no static shock and was inhumane, so that was scrapped straight away, (although I kept it to put around the hubbys neck one night and then scream loudly hehehe) I wasn’t hurting my dog for no one.
Then I came across these and thought this is the last attempt before we have to move to a desert island. Voila, it worked, my little westie monster had turned into Mary poppins within half an hour. I must add that the first one malfunctioned and I had a walking citrus air freshener for a few days but the company replied very promptly and I was sent a replacement with no hassle.
This one works a treat and now the neighbours can go about doing their gardening and the bees can fart happily.
I have a barky dachshund and have tried the beep vibration collars prior to upgrading to a citronella collar. It works! When he sees it, he knows to be quiet. He will still let a low growl out but not enough to trigger the spray.
I got a warning from my apartment manager and had to do something quick about his barking. I would never use an e-collar. With the citronella spray collar, I feel it’s safe and effective. Hopefully one day I won’t have to use a bark collar at all.
The Premier Pet Spray Bark Collar utilizes new patented spray technology that effectively deters barking with a gentle burst of spray. With its unique sensor technology, it ensures no other noises besides your dog’s barking will activate the spray.
The easy-to-use, spill-free, recyclable cartridge refills make this anti-bark collar revolutionary. The collar works with Premier Pet Unscented or Citronella Spray Refills.
I like how it is highly adjustable and easy to clean. you also plug it into a USB charger cord to charget it up. The charge lasts awhile too. And when it needs charged up again a yellow light blinks to tell u to charge it.
Very convient. Only problems I had with it was that it wouldn’t stay in the exact spot it needed to over the dogs voicebox. It was on not too tight and not to loose but my dog somehow got it to move to the side.
The spray that comes from it is a short strong burst of the fragrance. I used citronella first so then I could tell if it had worked right. The scent only last a few seconds in the air. There is also no fragrance scent thing too.
I think as far as how effective it is a hit or a miss. It does not go off with those low barks I noticed. Or the short little barks. Like the barks they do when they think they hear something but there is nothing.
Yeah didn’t work or my dog. It did work the few times she did a full on bark though. But I think she outsmarted it because she just wouldn’t do her loud powerful bark anymore and just quieter ones. And let’s just say if the little box thing isn’t exactly in the spot it needs to be it doesn’t work right.
We also had a few mishaps with it going off randomly when I was fixing it. Honestly my dog isn’ a Huge barker. But the older she gets she doe’s bark more than she used to at certain things. But she will she top barking with or without the spray collar.
Overall it is a decent product! It does work when it wants to work.
Good Bark Collar So I wanted to wait to try this on my pet for 2 weeks before I wrote a review for this bark Collar. So my dog Princess barks constantly when put outside to use the bathroom and I could never find a product that would stop her from barking at our 2 neighbors.
So I received this in the mail and put it on Princess right then. She felt comfortable in it which was nice. This bark collar stops her from barking and I am so thankful. The neighbors are very happy now I am sure that they do not hear barking.
This is good, safe, and not like them harmful shock collars that hurt your pets so that’s a plus! Would recommend to your dogs. It only puts out a mist if the dog barks and it is safe to use! I will be buying this again if I need to.
I also recommended to friends and my family with dogs.
I’ve never tried anything to keep our dogs from barking. At the beginning of the year we moved to a busy neighborhood and the barking is constant. It drives us crazy. I was all for a safe way to detur barking and happy to try this collar.
I did some trouble getting it to work. I ended up going to the company website and watched their videos. That was very helpful and I recommend doing that if you run into anything. The other issue I’ve had is that the collar keeps moving so unless it’s right under the dogs nose he doesn’t notice it.
I’ve tightened it as much as I am comfortable and feel my dog is comfortable. It took us both some learning but it is helping. As long as I make sure it hasn’t moved. I think over time he will stop barking at every little thing.
I would like to get one for our other dogs too. I would recommend it.
Dogtra YS300 Bark Collar The Dogtra YS300 is a sound activated, static electric collar suitable for barking, howling and whining in small to medium sized dogs. The collar is both waterproof and rechargeable.
How the Dogtra YS300 Works The YS300 is a microphone activated bark collar that delivers a safe static correction when your dog barks, whines or howls. The collar has 6 levels of correction and the stimulation level is set by you.
Simply turn the dial on the top of the module to the level that matches your dog’s drive. The collar also features a vibration-only option for very timid dogs. Please note: Always begin on the lowest level.
Increase the stimulation strength one level at a time until you reach a level that matches your dog’s drive. The collar’s sound recognition microprocessor is capable of filtering out external background noise and only activates the collar when your dog barks.
The YS300 bark collar can be fully charged in 2 hours and has a battery life of approximately a month with standard use.
Our two westies have had barking issues in the past. Just the random barking when neighbours make noise, bins get collected, someone at door etc. We have tried other collars in the past and they never worked! Finally now we have a solution! These collars worked instantly.
One bark and since they felt the first vibration, then haven’t had them bath since! We will leave these collars on them full time. It’s such a relief knowing we can now go out and not worry our neighbours will complain about our dogs sneaky barking while we are out! Thank you so much! Holly.
I wish we had bought this earlier! Our little cavoodle would not stop barking through the night as she wanted to come upstairs. We tried EVERYTHING prior to this including ignoring her, behaviour specialist, the sound collars which did nothing.
It took 2 nights with this for her to stop barking. I was really worried it was going to be cruel but it was 2 short zaps on a low setting and she stopped. Now she goes to bed without issue and without the collar.
I would highly highly recommend this product. Well worth the money.

So I had only just received this product and begun introducing it to my cats. They are full grown, 10+ pounds each, and my goal was to correct a recent behavior where they have been using the couch to scratch.
In terms of introducing, I mean placing the collar on them one at a time for them to wear for a period just to get used to its presence. Obviously they were not fans. Unfortunately, the collar itself is just a plastic type band with equidistant holes for placement of the actual unit.
As I was taking it off one of my cats after his introductory wear period, he was anxious and “jerked” as I was unfastening the collar. This resulted in the collar actually TIGHTENING to the point it was choking him (really choking).
Because of the hole placement on the collar, the latch part ended up so close to the unit that there was no room to undo the collar. I was in full panic mode at this point as my buddy was absolutely choking.
I had no room to get that collar to loosen and unfasten. This all happened so quick but there was nothing I could do to get that collar off. I had zero alternative but to pick him up and rush to get a pair of scissors to cut the collar off.
I’m not one to write poor reviews – truth is, I have no idea how well or not the unit itself works because all I got to do was introduce it to my two buddies in terms of just wearing it; this being the first time they’ve had a collar (indoor cats).
I know the sound and vibration worked for sure, as I tested those functions before I even put it on the collar itself. Can’t say how much of a deterrent it would be, as the opportunity did not present during the brief windows I had it on each.
As for shock – no clue – hoped it would never get there anyway. Regardless, and perhaps I didn’t do a great job of explaining above – but the collar should have a designated space where the unit attaches, and there should not be holes immediately adjacent to that position.
But because it is just one continuous strap of holes, the unit itself will always be immediately positioned closely to the next holes. And if something happens like it did to me and my bud, it’s going to be choking them and absent cutting it off, there was absolutely NO way of getting that undone.
Bad luck? Perhaps. But I wouldn’t take the chance again. Collar design needs fixed. I would not recommend this unless that gets fixed. It was pretty upsetting for both me and my cat for sure. He was legit choking.
Smart updates on the SportDOG SBC-R No-Bark Collar will make this the go to bark collar for all dogs over 8 pounds. With 3 fully custom correction modes and 10 adjustable levels of correction, you can program the anti-bark collar to a training mode that’s suitable to your dog’s barking behavior.
Choose between the User-Select, Progressive Correction and Temperament Learning modes. User-Select Mode-lets you manually choose the correction level. Progressive Correction Mode-Corrections start on the lowest level and increase in strength each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the last bark.
Reset to lowest level when dog stops barking. Temperament Learning-Corrections start on the lowest level and increase in strength each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the last bark. The collar remembers the last level used and if the barking starts again the first correction starts at the last level used.
Advanced digital technology allows for better bark detection and reduces over correction. This reduces the risk of the collar being triggered by another barking dog or similar sound within the area. For added safety, the bark collar has an automatic shut-off feature to prevent over correction.
If your dog barks more than 15 times in 80 seconds the device shuts off for 30 seconds then resumes normal operation.

The click is much faster and more distinct than saying good dog and much more effective than training with treats alone.
To teach a dog the meaning of the click, a treat is given immediately after clicking. Once the dog learns the positive effects of the clicking sound, the clicker itself acts as a conditioned reinforcer.

Replaceable, rechargeable LI-ION batteries, included. Waterproof and submersible. 10 levels of stimulation. 3 modes of operation. Imported.
This collar works great. I have six month old terrier mix pup. She is wonderful but has a high pitched bark that could be used as a torture device. I am working with a trainer and she recommended a bark collar.
She said it is humane and successful. I trust her so immediately ordered this collar. We are a much more peaceful family now and for such a reasonable price too.
If another dog is standing next to the one wearing the collar and barks, the dog wearing the collar gets corrected – the dog with the collar on wasn’t even the one barking! It’s teaching my dog to be afraid of other dogs for no reason.
I like the fact that it has several stages to correct, and the price point is reasonable. But, the microphone is picking up on other barking dogs, so it’s not working as it should. I would not advise using this product.
This is a great collar, very easy to set up & adjust as needed, very effective. My 19 lb Westie has been wearing it daily for 4 days, and the corrections worked immediately for him. I adjust the levels as our environment changes to avoid inadvertent triggers.
As far as the shock feature goes, I can barely feel anything when testing it on my bare skin, and what I do feel is much less noticeable or startling than a static electricity shock, nothing painful or traumatic.
Intelligent Automatic Bark Stopper: The anti-bark collar is programmed with intelligent bark control mechanisms including a smart bark recognition chip, double trigger identification system, accurate trigger control detection, smart trigger sensor, the dog bark collar is only triggered by your dog’s barking, not by other dogs barking or noise.
Touchscreen Automatic Anti Bark Collar: User-friendly UI to display shock vibration beep function with optional shock mode in Shock Bark Collar model. You can also set the sensitivity levels of bark collar, turn on or off shock (shock bark collar model) or adjust beep and/or vibration levels (non-shock bark collar model).
Adjustable Intelligent Sensitivity Levels: The Dog Shock Collar offers 6 levels of function, in loop or fixed mode. It can effectively detect barking of all sizes of dogs, and give a corresponding response, level 6 is stronger than level 1, the vibration is more intense, and the duration is longer.
Automatic Barking Control with No Remote: the collar does its bark-stop job by itself and operates in automatic mode, in which sound and vibration can effectively and safely stop barking. If barking continues, and shock mode is selected, bark collar will give an electric shock to deter barking.
USB Magnetic Charging and Highest Waterproof Rating Bark Collar: Rechargeable anti-bark dog collar with independent intelligent power management.
This thing is a god send. My little dog likes to YAP at everything. NOT WHEN HE’S WEARING THIS. He is scared of the beeping and it really does the trick without the shock that some collars like this come with.
I highly recommend this and let me tell you. I bought this thing like 6 months ago and have only charged it ONE TIME. It really works great. Now I dont have it on my dog all the time and when it is not one him I turn it off but the batter last forever.
PATPET P320 1000ft Remote Dog Training Shock eCollar, 2 count; With the PATPET P320 1000ft Remote Dog Training Shock eCollar, you can help your beloved pooch stay on her best behavior. It lets you send her a safe, but unmistakable message when she’s doing something that’s not okay.
The TL:DR version included at end of part 1 What you need to know: easy to use, affordable, well-constructed, effective, humane, all the features you need at a fraction of the cost. Takes AAA batteries and the batteries last over a month.
Read on if you want the deep dive This collar is sturdy, infinitely adjustable for every size dog, it comes with a remote that has easy to read display and self-explanatory button labels. There is a setting for dog 1 and dog 2.
It’s probably the only setting you could possibly mess up. Check the dog icon on the display and it shows either a 1 or a 2. Side button will correct it if you set it to a second dog accidentally as I did.
(I have one dog). The shock on lowest level is barely noticeable (like a drop of water hitting your skin); it will not hurt any creature. Intensity can be turned up, and it feels gradually more annoying.
There is a beep and a vibrate button, both can be set to very lowest strength, you can use either or both, it generally gets the dogs attention and I use the beep to call her to me and the vibrate as a warning if she is having bad behavior.
Batteries can be either a pro or con, but I find it very convenient and only needed to change battery (2 AAA) after 5 weeks of round the clock wearing. I prefer it to charging and no cables or downtime.
Effective? A big YES, my rebellious and stubborn rescue is very compliant now. I had tried lots of training, with professional help and this use the single most effective and fast way to turn her behavior around.
It’s such a pleasure to be with my dog now that she’s no longer aggressive to other dogs, no longer whining and rarely barking. I think what is the best way to describe is each mode (beep, vibrate or shock) is noticeable even by a highly agitated dog, so while your verbal commands may not be noticed, the beep will get their attention, and if the beep isn’t enough, then you can go to the vibrate, and lastly to the shock.
Use your verbal “no” or “stop” type command so your dog remembers if he ignores the verbal, it will be followed with the beep, and so on. Eventually your dog will give more attention to your verbal commands and you will need the collar functions less.
I assumed I would go with an “upgrade” if the collar worked, but I’m so very satisfied with this inexpensive model that I recommend it 100% and please give this one a chance. Your dog will thank you and yo can use the extra $$$ for treats and toys.
Don’t let the price fool you, this collar is amazing and you will not be disappointed. Don’t be tempted to overspend on a training collar, this one is amazing and just as good as one 10 times the price.
So that the correct evaluation score can be applied I am doing two separate reviews of the PATPET Dog Trainers. For many years we had a dog trainer that looked exactly like the PATPET Outdoor Remote Dog Training Collar-1000 meters, but it did not have the PATPET name on it.
It stopped holding a charge but we were so happy with it we bought the PETPAT 1000 meter from Chewey that looked exactly like the one we had. This review is for the PATPET Oudoor Remote Dog Training Collar – 1000 meter range.
This is a very well designed, sturdy, user-friendly unit. It is attractively priced. We only use it in 1 dog mode. The neck strap is very useful and we liked the vertical stacking of the tone, vibrate, shock buttons and the fact that the middle button is yellow (vibrate) for reference.
The different modes were very easy to read with white lettering on black. This unit was tested on a 25 degrees F day on our 10 month old beagle pup Ziggy. You use tone first and this usually gets his attention and corrects the bad behavior.
If he did not respond favorably to tone, vibrate would correct him most of the time. Only occasionally is shock needed. The bad behaviors we corrected for were counter grazing, not coming, and eating outdoor buffet ( rabbit, deer, cat poop, dead animals and who knows what else.
) It allows us to walk him on our property which is loaded with wild animals, without being on a leash. This is impressive for a beagle. We used this PATPET trainer in conjunction with a whistle and Garmin Astral GPS showing us where he was on aerial photos.
(BUT, the Garmin GPS went dead and Garmin can no longer sell or service the GPS so have to spend $1000 on a new Garmin dog tracker. ) We have benches on our 10 miles of trails on which we sit while we let Ziggy run free jumping bunnies, turkey, partridge, deer, and occasionally bears.
If he gets near our property boundary we first blow the whistle in bursts of 3. If he doesn’t head back on the GPS photos I press the tone first, if tone doesn’t turn him vibrate which usually works and if not, the shock when we hear him yelp loudly.
The he hightails it back to where I am. The highest shock level I use is 12. The range for this unit is 1000 meters but I only tried testing the signal through a mixed hardwood/deciduous forest at 185 yards, 300 yards and 475 yards.
But I don’t want my best buddy more than 500 yards from me. All three modes worked fine at these three distances. I highly recommend this unit for controlling bad behavior indoors and outdoors and love that it allows me to walk and let my best bud chase animals and sniff off leash.
The last big problem is how to keep Ziggy from eating outdoor buffet when off leash and out of sight. I have purchased a soft muzzle to try on him for this. AND OH, it can save your pets life, as it did for Ziggy today.
The mail man on my rural mail delivery 55 mpn road stopped to deliver a package that was too big for my mailbox. Ziggy happened to be outside in the yard with me and he ran to the road to greet the mailman.
I pressed tone—Ziggy did not stop. I pressed vibrate—Ziggy did not stop. I pressed shock as he got near the road with a car going at last 55 mph and would have hit him—and Ziggy yelped and stopped dead in his tracks and ran back to me.
THANK YOU PATPET FOR SAVING MY BUDDY ZIGGY’S LIFE.
Was def nervous to try a shock collar on my little 36lb doggo. But with her chasing after deer this year and trying to accompany the neighbors jogging down our windy road on a whim, I needed something that would give her the same freedom as off leash that would be cheaper then fencing.
That’s when I stumbled on this gem. It was a cheap tester before I decide to invest in an invisible fence or something like it. But I honestly don’t think I’ll need to switch. The shock option is completely optional (you can choose to attach the nodes or not) I was sure to test this out on myself before hitting on my dogs neck cause you can never be too careful.
The remote automatically turns off if you haven’t used in 30ish seconds but the collar does not. You have to press and hold for like 10 seconds. The sound seems to only have one setting but I’m gonna read the instructions more thoroughly again in the morning and there isn’t a very noticeable difference in the vibration settings but all in all I think this product exceeds my expectations for the cost.
It also has a life time warranty that is the easiest set up in the world to do so I appreciate that aspect as well. But yeah, I can’t speak on the bigger dogs, which seems to be a common complaint on these reviews but if you have a dog on the smaller side who just needs a lil encouragement with their recall, then this is a perfect device.
There is no need to go spending 100s on a collar. Also the remote and the collar both run on 2 AAAs each (included) some might see that as a con but I kind of like the idea incase it dies while we’re out camping or something, we’ll be fine as long as I remember to pack some back ups.

The thing is horrible, I set it on shock, and noticed instantly my dog was acting funny, she would roll in her sleep and jump up and run away, I would pet her, and she would suddenly jolt, so I turned it on to the beep function, and low and behold it was randomly going off, when she would move or bump it, sometimes just sitting still, and to top it all off? The times she actually did bark, it didn’t even go off! And trust me, she by no means is a quiet Barker.
Maybe I just got a faulty one, but either way, I would not recommend this to anyone who cares about their dogs sanity! It’s one thing to train them not to bark for no reason, but to have the life zapped out of you for sleeping? I’ll pass.
My little old man, Jett, was not being a good neighbor. Being a Beagle, he loves to keep tabs on all the neighbors and report daily (all day long) while I am at work. Hence my search for a bark collar.
This was a perfect fit for him (and my neighbors). I use only the vibrate mode at this point, but this collar does have options if he needs them. He seems to know that the barking has to stop when I put it on him in the morning.
It has been a perfect match! I love the adjustable collar that comes with it and it’s rechargeable, love it.
The collar works great. Our dog barks at everything from people to squirrels and birds while outside. I have only had it set on vibrate settings and she has stopped barking. The collar setting are easy to change.
You can change the sensitivity level and change from vibrate to shock. We have it at a sensitivity setting that allows her to let our small barks so we know to let her in but goes off on the annoying loud constant barking.
The collar has made our home more peaceful so far.

The Guardian Bark Control Collar is a humane way to help your canine pal learn to stop barking. The item is adjustable so it is a good fit for many different breeds of dogs. The Guardian bark collar is weather-resistant and durable, so it can be used to train dogs both indoors and outdoors with relative ease.
We have ‘a few’ little dogs and they love to play ‘bark-like-crazy-people-and-run-along-the-fence’ with neighbouring dogs if they happen to be out at the same time; it turns into a horrible barkfest that I’m sure the entire neighbourhood hates.
We only purchased one of these collars to test it out before putting out the money for one for each dog; we put it on our biggest ‘instigator’ dog and it works like a charm. It is sad to see when they get ‘zapped’, heartbreaking in fact, but they sure learn fast, and they’re smart enough to not let it happen again once they figure out what is causing it (which takes only a few times of wearing, ie less than a week for sure)! The collar adjusts so it’s best to have one for each dog because it is a pain to have to change the sizing each time.
The sizing has to be perfect. We did try it on each of our dogs, and it worked with each of them. There should be room for a finger between the metal part and the dog’s throat. If it is too loose, it won’t work.
If it is too tight, it is detrimental to the dog. Our Miss Instigator knows that as soon as the collar goes on her, she should not partake in the fun barking-activities, and the other dogs are less into that fun game with the neighbours, so even just having one collar has helped immensely.
Miss Instigator now just walks away when wearing the collar. We plan on buying one for each of our dogs eventually. We haven’t tried this yet, but I have read that once the dog has learned what the collar does, you can remove it and replace it with a normal collar (non zapping), and it tricks them into believing they are still wearing the barker (zapping) collar.
Apparently this collar shouldn’t be used in conjunction with the perimeter fence thing because the 2 things used together confuse the dog and it’s hard for them to learn what is causing the zap. Another note is that you shouldn’t leave the dog unattended wearing the collar, ie if you go out for the day and have a barker in the house, don’t use it.
This collar is activated by vibration in the dog’s throat during barking, and I have seen it zap the dog when the dog did a ‘reverse-sneeze’. If something happened with your dog while you were out which made the collar believe the dog was barking, I’d hate to think of your poor dog sitting there all alone getting zapped all day while you’re not there.
My dog is a rescue and has been a bit skittish since we got him. We know nothing about his past and therefore don’t know why he is so shy. He tends to bark (very loudly) whenever someone comes in our house.
He also barks at our neighbors when he is outside in the yard, if they startle him. We decided to try this collar since his bark can scare some people, and it can be annoying. I totally regret trying this! He barked a few times (meaning the level of shock went up a few levels) and afterwards he hid in a corner and was shaking.
He was afraid of everyone in the room and kept his tail between his legs. I tried taking him outside to play but he hid under a tree and ignored all his toys! I couldn’t even get him to come back in the house, he just sat at the door, shaking.
It took my dog 3 hours to get over this reaction. I won’t be using this collar again. I am sure this collar might work for nuisance barking, but if your dog is fearful or skittish, they are probably barking out of fear so this will only make them more afraid.
I bought this product because we lived in an apartment with THIN walls and our dog barked every time we left the house. After much debate about using a shock technique, my husband and I decided that this collar would work best on our strong-headed mutt.
We followed the directions with the Anti-Bark collar and various online reviews and within a week our dog wasn’t barking when we left her! We continued to use the device for a month, removing the batteries so that she wouldn’t get shocked but had the reminder not to bark around her neck.
It’s been two years since we have used the collar but she is trained to be quiet when we are gone. I recommend to any one who has a stubborn or strong-willed dog!.

We have a 3 year old beagle that is very very vocal. We have had him since he was a pup. One of us has always been home where he has never really needed to be home alone. Or at least not long periods of time.
Either way he has always had separation anxiety and anxiety towards sprays, certain collars and loud noises. Anytime we have company he has to bark and jump around until he gets all attention. In the car if one of us gets out of the vehicle he continues to bark until they get back in.
We’ve looked for ways to teach him or train him not to but nothing ever helped. I was researching collars and came across this one. The reviews were absolutely amazing and I love that it wouldn’t shock him.
We were out running errands and wanted to see if it would help. The first beep/vibration had him looking around like “what was that” second time he stopped mid bark and didn’t bark after. When we got home we took it off and he did very well the rest of the night.
The next day my mother came over which is when he will bark, jump around and go crazy. We had his collar on and when she came in he barked once and did very well with her. This is an absolute amazing product! I recommend 100 percent!!!.
I purchased product with very low expectations. I have a 8 month old goldendoodle. Like most doodles she is full of energy and little focus. I have been training her but in the area of barking and jumping, I have not been having good luck.
I bought this collar hoping to solve on of the problems but it turns out I solved the barking problem and reduced the jumping. I seems that now that she is not running all over barking her head off, that she has settled down in general.
It is much easier to control jumping now that I don’t have to overcome the barking first. I am no longer giving the “hush” “down” commands in the same sentence. This is one of the best buys I have ever made for my girl.
I caught on really quickly and now knows that she can only bark once. Which is ok with me because that tells me she needs to go outside. She is just a calmer dog overall. Thanks for a great product and great service from the seller.
The use of bark collars for small dogs is a controversial topic. Some people believe that these devices are inhumane and can cause undue stress and anxiety for dogs. Others believe that they are an effective way to train dogs not to bark excessively.
The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. If used correctly, bark collars can be a safe and effective way to train small dogs not to bark excessively. However, if used incorrectly, they can cause undue stress and anxiety for dogs.
