I have a 1999 Geep Grand Cherokee and being used constantly to pick up stuffs from HomeDepot or Lowes. But it has no rear camera such everytime when I reverse the car, I has to be very careful to watch out is there any person or stuff behind me.
Spent quite a bit of times to find way resolve this tunitl I found this camera. It really works well and serves the purpose of my need. My installation tips 1. Need to use one of the screw hole to connect the camera power line inside the liftgate 2.
Connect the LCD’s power line to the reverse light of the car, per instruction, which I used the reverse light bulb fixture to insert the positive and negative of the LCD power lines. This I don’t need to cut any wires of the cars original wiring.
I am veryy happy to have this product and it’s a very importanct safety feature to have on any car if you don’t have it. Highly recommended !.
I installed this on my 2011 Chevy Equinox L, which does not have a built-in backup camera. The most difficult part was disassembling the interior portion of the back hatch. There was plenty of wiring and the instructions were clear.
The picture is really clear! I’m able to back-up into the center of a parking spot and also feel much better about avoiding people or things that I can’t see by turning around and looking out the back window front he driver’s seat.
I installed this in my 2003 Chev Silverado Ext Cab and mounted the monitor above the rear view mirror with the permanent install power wire provided instead of using the plugin charger. You can splice into the light green reverse light wire inside of the cab at the fuse block located at the left of the brake pedal.
Remove the black cover and on the block it will be located at the top right. This made the install look great and only turn on in reverse. Sure it took some extra time to install but it was well worth it as the pictures show.

I had Best Buy install this camera on both of my cars. I have a Prius C and Corolla that I also had compatible stereos installed on. And they look great! The viewing angle is really the best part as well as the video quality.
Its easy to mount by either the strong adhesive, or screwing to car with the mount and screws it comes with. I think its great because it looks better (more factory like) than most other options.
Wow, this back up camera is fantastic! We had it installed on January 13th and are extremely happy with it. As soon as you put the car in reverse, the camera immediately comes on. The coverage is phenomenal! Btw, it doesn’t interfere with my stereo, which really makes us happy! If you are looking for a back up camera, I wholeheartedly recommend this camera! You can’t go wrong! It’s perfect!.

DescriptionSee everything behind you with the Kenwood rearview camera. The camera has its own built-in power supply, so you can quickly install it and enjoy the 0. 33-megapixel view screen. This Kenwood rearview camera has a 103-degree vertical view, a 128-degree horizontal view and a five-meter cable to ensure you can use it with trailers and campers.
The Kenwood CMOS-230, is a very good backup camera if you have a Kenwood double-din stereo with a DVD, or NAVI display. You can adjust the parking lines, and I live in a dark area, so backing up into the driveway is no problem with no lights for this camera.
The Kenwood CMOS-130 doesn’t have night view, but according to Kenwood’s website the CMOS-230 dose, and I can tell you there absolutely correct. I have standard reverse light bulbs in my 2010 Corolla, no need for led lights because backing up with this camera at night makes you see clearly in color display.
The BestBuy Geek Squad did a fast, quick, and excellent installation job when they installed this camera. It took one young man one hour to install this camera tops. I picked up this camera for $50. 00 off, so it was well worth the combined price $99.
00 with the install $129. 99. Yes; I recommend this camera, if you have a compatible Kenwood double-din receiver. It will make for an excellent needed upgrade. I, have driven, and backed up 18 wheelers for many, many years in NYC, that doesn’t mean you don’t need a backup camera for a small car; for example: In a Walmart Shopping Center, now that I live in Virginia.
The camera works great. The reason for the 4 stars is because of the directions. Don’t follow the directions. I have a Kenwood stereo which was an easy connection to the back of it but I also had to slice into the ACC red wire and then connect that to my back up light.
It has a really nice picture. The camera is mounted under my bumper (centered) on a 2000 Jeep Wrangler.
The installer hooked this up to my Kenwood deck. The installation was free because I have Total Tech Support. The tech was knowledgeable about the product and offered me different options for camera function.
I had mine hooked up independently from the reverse light circuit. I have to punch a button to turn on the camera, but that also allows me to use the camera while I am towing something, st I can check the stability of the hitch while in tow.
My only issue with the camera is the glare in strong light conditions. The picture is very washed out without enough contrast for effortless monitoring.
The waterproof backup camera automatically activates when the car is put in reverse to show your surroundings, and it provides night-vision viewing for dark lots and garages. This Pyle rearview mirror camera system displays a 170-degree image of the area behind your vehicle for increased safety.
Compatible with most vehicle makes and models; 4. 3″ LCD display built-into mirror panel; water-resistant and fog-resistant camera; 170° wide-angle lens; 420 TV lines horizontal resolution; RCA interface; includes all necessary installation cables and wires.

Reviews From Real Customers
I like the quality of the whole system. The camera, mirror and hardware are all of good quality for the price. I’m not a beginner when it comes to installing aftermarket electronic devices in vehicles, so the limited instructions didn’t bother me.
But I can see how someone who hasn’t done it before or not much would find the instructions lacking more detailed information that would really help the process. The system works very well. The mirror is large, and the video displayed on it when backing up is also large and clear.
The camera has good coverage and clear detail. The only issue I had was the small cutout on the camera mount for the wire was on the bottom when the wire has to me run from the top. There was no way to reverse the cutout location or reverse the video picture displayed if the mount was flipped to accommodate the wire so that it wouldn’t get pinched when mounted.
Filing a cutout to fix that oversite would be the only solution until Pyle resolves it at the factory during manufacturing. The system does work very well. It’s a lot easier see directly behind my 1996 Jeep Cherokee now.
Pros- it is an actual rear view mirror and not a clip on. Pro- tag camera is in an aluminum bracket not plastic. Pro- easy install. Wired up to hot wire with key-on for mirror and reverse lights for camera.
Then ran wire from camera to mirror and was done. 3 hrs on a Lincoln Town Car Pro- Looks like factory setup. Pro- cost is well worth the product Con- Video picture is hard to see in sun light. Back light display could be brighter so mirror can’t interrupt picture visibility.
I rate this product at 3. 5 stars. The camera display is clear and of good size. Installation was fairly easy and has just enough RCA cable for this minivan. The biggest difficulty was finding a power source and ground under the dash.
I settled for tapping into one of the fuses for the power. This kit would have recieved a 5 star rating except for the fact that the rearview mirror “glass” is of a plastic composition. While the camera is off the mirror is dark, kind of like driving with the dimmer on.
It had a nick in the surface where the screen is and I further damaged the surface by trying to rub the blemish away. Clean this mirror with great care.
Enhanced Assisted Parking. Not everyone is good at parking, and not every street makes it easy to find your angles. Using the TRQ Rear View Camera is a great way to eliminate the guesswork, reduce neck strain, and minimize the risk of accidents.
Enjoy peace of mind and gain confidence in your parking ability with this wide-angle camera lens and its clear resolution picture designed to enhance the precision of your maneuvers. Quality Construction.
The TRQ Rear View Camera comes with weatherproof housing and an impact-resistant build. Weatherproofing is mandatory to protect electronics against extreme temperatures, rain, snow, dust, and road debris.
Due to the extensive protection the housing offers, the camera can operate at peak capacity and clarity in any season and road conditions, and provide years of service. Straightforward Installation. If your F-150 needs a new camera, the TRQ Rear View Camera is an excellent choice.
It has a plug-and-play installation process that doesn’t requi.
My old camera was going in and out and would work only intermittently before finally giving up and dying altogether. I popped the top off of the ford emblem, removed two bolts, then got to the torx bit screw on the camera bracket.
Removed the camera and reinstalled everything in reverse order and it works great. I was very careful pulling the ford emblem off, but one of the two clips broke anyway. Rather than buy a whole new emblem I just applied a bit of 3M VHB tape and stuck the emblem back on.
It has been holding on great for a few weeks so I think it’s going to work! Camera was plug and play, no reprogramming necessary, and the zoom button to zero in on the trailer ball works too. So far very satisfied!.
Made for easy hook-ups between the tow vehicle and trailer! Makes it easy for one person to hitch up to the trailer by themselves. Large 3-1/2″ color monitor with a static free image. Features three detection zones that alert the driver to distance and direction off the objects with audible alerts.
Safely back up your vehicle with the help of this Metra BBBPC back-up camera, which delivers a 170° viewing angle to help you see obstacles behind you. The camera mounts easily above your vehicle’s license plate for simple installation.
170° viewing angle Lets you see a wide area behind your vehicle. Selectable parking-assist lines Help ensure safe operation. ABS material Resists damage due to water and ensures a durable design. Easy-to-install design Enables you to simply attach the camera to the top bolts of your vehicle’s license plate with the help of an included plate mount.
This particular camera was suggested by the Best Buy installation team when I came in at the installation appointment for the originally back-up camera I had purchased, which would have them install the camera outside the license plate frame.
They told me that the camera I had purchased would require the drilling of two extra holes and that it may cause the water to filtrate inside the trunk, etc, Long story short, they convinced me to change my mind and buy/install this plate frame camera, which now I regret purchasing because you can’t really adjust the angle of view, which is too high; therefore, it does not allow you to see the bumper of the car, which makes it difficult to tell how far you are from the curb when parking.
I have tried every possible way to change the angle of this camera, but it’s of no use — you can’t really adjust it. If I had to do it again, I would not purchase this camera for the issue mentioned above, it almost defeats the purpose of a back-up camera (and depending on the stereo you have, you’re not able to make changes through there either).
This is a much better back-up camera then I was expecting. It’s not the best out there, but for <$100, it actually looks pretty good. It's a little tough at night when there's lights aimed at the camera.
Even at night in general, it’s more fuzzy than in the day, but still usable at night. Installing this (nature of the beast) is quite difficult, not this camera in particular however. Making sure you line up a wire from the rear outside of the car to the (relatively) insulated inside of the car, with drilling minimal holes and ensuring the wires remain out of site was a difficult task.
If you spend the time to do it right, you’ll be happier with the final result in the long run. Plus it’ll add to the longevity.
Installation isn’t too bad however what threw me off is that the wiring has your black and red wires, then it has another red wire by the RGA plug. So for a little bit, I was not able to get the camera working.
I called Metra tech support and they explained to me that the red wire by the RCA plug is to attach to the reverse light’s wire. I still don’t understand why they wired two positive wires when you can take the original one and hook it up to the back up light’s positive wire.
So I hooked both positive wires to the back up light’s positive, and negative to the negative, and the camera works great. I really love the design where the frame goes behind the license tag. Now the state name is not covered up since Georgia puts their state name on the top of the license plates.
I’m really liking this unit. I ran their wires to my taillight housing on my Dodge Ram truck, and clipped the red wire to the Dodge white and black wire to the Dodge black (typically ground) and this took all of about en minutes including removing and replacing the taillight housing (same as if you had to change a bulb.
Placed the camera, antenna, and secured the wires. That was all of the “hard” part. Plug in the monitor and there ya go. Simple. I wish a doule-sided sticky pad was included for mounting the antenna but 3m command strips took careof that.
I also wish there were better electrical ties included, so I tossed thoe four that came with it in favor of my own. The image on the monitor is crystal clear. Make sure you place the camera in the center of the rear, as there is no side-to-side adjustment, but plenty of vertical adjustment.
Also check where you are actually stopping when reversing, as I have found the distance to be remarkably accurate. I haven’t been able to adjust the grid lines yet, but I’ll figure it out. Factory settings are not bad.
I would gove this a lower rating for not including a mounting strip/method for the antenna, and the super thin electrical ties, but if I could give this unit ten stars, so far it is perfect. Very easy to install.
I wish I had installed well before having to spend $300 for replacing the rear bumper on my truck after clipping a parking lot light pole. This is an excellent product. Wireless and digital is the way to go.
It was fun installing the camera. Just looked at YouTube videos about installing. After that it was a piece a cake. Setting up the camera angle and hiding all cables so it will not look messy all done and easy.
Now using it, it is so awesome and fun. At night it is as great in day time. Here are some pictures during day. I didn’t take some at night though. Its basically the same what comes out of the monitor.
The picture quality is great. Now the phone camera did no justice due to the lighting but still did great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants safety when backing up. Its fun to back up.
I have a 2000 gmc van that has three doors in the back. That made installation a little more difficult, but still only took about 3 hours total. As long as you make sure to get a good ground to bare metal, and you make sure the antenna isn’t buried down inside a fender somewhere, it should do great.
Take time to get the brightness and contrast adjusted properly. Works good day or night, rain or shine. Would buy again.

What I expectedand what I got was veryunderwhelming. Install was straightforwardfor the most part. The onlyissue I had doinginstall was the mounting screws. By design it was supposedto pull the bolt and lock in place when tighten.
What end up happeningwas after a point the bolt wouldjustspin just behind the Handel. The problem here is the bolt should have had a metal on metal insteadof metalon plastic. The lip should havebeen bigger.
The imageis only as good as your head deck, so for me it was just average. Yes it was clear no fuzz, but thefield of view leaves a lot to be desired. Just dont seem wide enough and the back up guide seems off by a lot.
If the camera could be adjustedthen it wouldnt be a problem, but its fixed and to me I feel like its pointingmore to the ground insteadof seeingmore of whats behind you which makes the guidelooks out of place.
After about a month the weather changed and got some rain. Camera foggedup and was completelyuselesshad to use some rain x on it. Night vision is almost none existence. Camera use your tail lights to see.
This is a good setup to update my 2011 f150. The tailgate handle itself is pretty well made and sturdy. The camera is good with a good amount of view and the night vision quality is good enough. It had more than enough cable to make it to the back of the stereo from the rear of the truck.
Its a very easy and straight forward install. I paired this camera with a JVC KW-M150BT head unit and it works flawlessly.
Love it! Looks factory on my 2010 F150 XLT. Finally I can see where the heck I am backing up to. It was easy to install though it did take some time just to meticulously run the wires to ensure they would not be damaged by anything.
The supplied wiring harness fit great and I was able to run it from my back of the truck all the way underneath to the front, came up into the engine compartment, ran in through the firewall on the passenger side, behind the glove compartment, and into the back of my Kenwood Stereo/Receiver.
The picture does have a small jitter when I step on the brakes but I think I can fix that with a little bit of electrical work. Great purchase 👍.

Expand your range with help from the Garmin 010-12242-10 BC 30 Wireless Backup Camera System. Paired with a compatible GPS navigator, it assists you in easily spotting vehicles, pedestrians and other obstructions.
It’s wired through your backup lights, so it will automatically activate when your vehicle is moving in reverse. Wire it to constant power and toggle between the navigation display and backup display modes.
The rugged design is suitable for use in different climate and weather conditions. It’s also compatible with up to four cameras to give you multiple angle views (additional cameras sold separately). This wireless camera system’s transmitter sends video to your display’s receiver from as far as 45′ away.
Clever of Garmin to make camera’s that work (wirelessly via Bluetooth) with its GPS unit. Mine will accommodate up to four. Most useful on back of the trunk lid where it fits unobtrusively. Does block lever that manually opens lid.
But I don’t use the lever so no problem. Might check to see if this is an issue on your car. Works off of rear backup lights so illumination at night depends on brightness of those two lights. I get more than enough from my 2013 Ford C Max.
Lines delineate car width and length as well as safe and caution zones. View range is 140 degrees horizontal and 120 vertical with minor distortion. Seeing that much behind your car does not prevent either thoughtless drivers or pedestrians from darting behind you even as you are backing up.
Helped my wife spot a small low slung black sports car zip by as she was backing out. She would not have seen the car otherwise and might have backed into it because the idiot driving it didn’t even slow down.
In general, works as well as any I’ve seen on newer more expensive cars. Best Buy installed mine and the modest charge is more than worth it. Having BB do the install, in effect, buys insurance for a free fix in case something goes wrong.
They know what they are doing; me, considerably less so. As to durability, well, I’ll report a year from now on that.

This is great out the box for standard size pickup beds up to 6 feet. The frame is very durable and the wiring is too. The hookup wire to your video source is 10 ft long, usually enough for most autos.
If you have a 8 ft pickup bed, with an 8ft Super Duty cab, you will need to get a 6ft extension of RCA Video Cable M/F (Male to Female) which is easy to find on Amazon or Ebay or at Walmart. I got the high end shielded gold plated one on Amazon site for $14.

This is a very decent “Above License Plate camera”, I installed this camera on my Dodge truck, works well, with or without the backup lines. Connected to my Kenwood stereo unit. Considering using the units back-up lines.
Very clear view! I would recommend the purchase of this camera.
I used this camera in the front bumper of my Ram 2500 and utilized the camera that came with the truck with a Pioneer Nex W-4500. The camera doesn’t appear to be of great quality and right now, I have it mounted, but it sticks out.

We purchased two of these for Christmas gifts – neither is waterproof. One was returned for a replacement, which doesn’t work either. The second one worked at first, but six months later collects water, ruining the usefulness of the backup camera.
The second unit is now out of the return period of three months, and I can’t find information to return it to the manufacturer as defective. Do not recommend!.

This dash cam is the best one of all of the dash cams Ive owned on the past. The 4k video is crisp and clear when viewing on my computer. The mic works great and the added features this device has is over and beyond the price I paid.
Did I mention I love the added features like the GPS to show your speed and the motion detection as well as the parking feature. Also the voice detection is very accurate its allows me to control the screen without stopping the car to adjust on the screen, I can just sayshow both cameras and it will show both back and front cameras.
Or if I saystart recording it will then start recording. Do your research like I did and you will find that this unit is unbeatable for the price. Like I said, money well spent for my added protection while driving,I feel safe and peace of mind when driving now.
I owned several dash cams before and none of them satisfied me. All of them stopped working after used for a period of time. This one has very good quality and should last for a long time. So far I am very satisfied with it.
Simple installation, clear video, responds smoothly to touch, size is larger than expected, provides more better view. Night vision and rear camera are a huge plus. Works as described. Love all the futures it offers.
Great value for the price! This is the second dash cam I owned. The video quality is highly recommend and many other functions of this Dashcam are awesome! Especially love the emergency recording and parking monitor.
The conclusion of backup camera for pickup truck is that it is an excellent addition to any truck. It helps to see behind the truck when reversing, and makes parking and maneuvering in tight spaces much easier.
